new hanif book about basketball made me cry. typical. i love ohio.
#its so dense with reference and meaning to like theres a million threads to chase down and contemplate but they all fold together#something about the intermissions really got me. the one to his mother.... to toni morrison... john glen and john brown. man.#but also really lovely mediation on the intersection of the city/the community and sports. which i think about all the time#i love the narrativizing of sports. the way the team becomes representative of a larger collective. a method of identity building.#it really rings deep#my posts

I honestly feel a Happy!/Chucky shared universe can work. Anyone familiar with both shows (and the latter movies) know that they both deal with supernatural and religious elements featuring demigods and are both owned by Universal so having a shared universe with these two would not be far off the mark. Here's what I have in mind for Chucky episode:
G.G. is in England on a mission to find a way to stop their parents Chucky and Tiffany once and for all. One night while doing research in a library, they come across something beyond ordinary; an imaginary friend named Happy the Happy Horse who's on a similar mission...
Thoughts?
Also, I'd like to call upon all Chucky fans who have seen Happy! to please join in the fight to save it for season 3. You know how relieved and happy you are to have a 3rd season of Chucky? That's what we want with Happy! because it's a great show with a unique story, characters (including animated ones) you can invest your time in, and touching moments that need to be noticed more. Please, for 2024, join us in the fight to save Happy!. Watch it, talk about it, share your love for it (especially the idea of a shared universe with Chucky), anything you can. This show is TOO GOOD to stay cancelled. Chris Meloni, Patton Oswalt and the whole cast and crew want to do more and I'll bet if Don Mancini saw it, he'll want more too.
Thank you.

Howdy book 3 lover here again! Thank you so much for the summery it really helped things make sense, like I vaguely remembered the con but yh, that makes sense now!
CANT BELIEVE TWO DIES I THOUGHT HE LIVED, I THOUGHT EVERYONE ELSE (bar kelly) DIED. ;-;
Is there any way you could recap vampire rules, im trying to write a fanfic, it's not a very good fanfic bc I dont remember the books very well but I really want to get the vampire rules right. It is a crossover with skulduggery friendly rules?
Hi, I'm so sorry I didnt see this till now!
Vampires in Demon Road differ from Skulduggery. They're more similar to stereotypical vampires than the vampires in SP. So, they have fangs, are repelled by crucifixes, can be hurt by light, require human blood to sustain them and can be killed by being stabbed in the heart. Glen and other vampires are able to fly, but we never see them turn into a bat. The rules in the demon road universe is that once a vampire bites someone, that person will only turn into a vampire if they die from the bite. Also, the vampire will be able to track down the person whenever they want once theyve bitten them - some kind of psychic link? That's pretty much all the lore, but I'll go back and check book 1 when I have the opportunity.
Plz plz send me the fanfic if you do publish any of it, I'd love to read it!

The best scenes in Space: Above and Beyond are often between these two and here's another great one. Being able to see that even the higher ups can still feel the devastating impact of war is the type of touch we really loved to see from this show.

Favorite rockstars: Nick Cave, Peter Steele, GVF, Jason Newsted, St. Vincent, Carrie Brownstein
Favorite bands: SO MANY and you guys see much of the more prolific ones lol
Hobbies: hiking, camping, writing, reading, gym, baking, playing old Pokemon games, making collages, coloring, Neopets, organizing things.
Four random facts about myself:
1. I've never broken a bone but I do sprain my right ankle almost every autumn. It gets very hard to see roots on hiking trails when the leaves begin to fall and I move very fast, which typically leads to me injuring myself in October lol.
2. Over the past few years, I've had 5 pet rats. Only one remains--her name is Clover and she's my half-bald little patchwork gremlin.
3. I collect animal bones and corpses to preserve, and have many different things on display in my apartment. Right now I have some fox bones, including the skull, that I cleaned and bleached getting some air and sun in my kitchen windowsill lmao.
4. I just had to have my first every surgery, which was getting my tonsils and adenoids removed. At 30 years old, it really is no joke. The recovery is already so much worse than I thought, and I predicted the worst!
I tag @jjwasneverhere @defkisshalen @jake-whatthefisgoingon-kiszka @mackalah @this-will-remain-untitled @writingcold @ramblinguitar @holdingup-fallingsky @pockcock @gracev0609 if y'all want 🌲
