If you clicked the read more I just want to say a big THANK YOU for being part of this tournament. Whether you've been following from the start or you just recently caught wind of it, your opinions and your votes are heard and appreciated
Please just be mindful of the fact that there is actually a person behind this. Someone who's spent nearly half a year planning and executing this tournament, someone who's posted over 800 polls for the sake of a little fandom fun, someone who sees all your comments
At the end of the day, it's not that serious. Everyone has their own opinions. Win or lose, your faves are valid

if I had a nickel for every time a staff member at greendale community college accidentally confessed to first degree murder in an emotional outburst about something related to their reasoning for committing said crime, I’d have two nickels. which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

Idk who needs to hear this but its NEVER too late to identify as genderqueer and you dont have to show "signs" as a child. I feel like in media, trans people are often shown to know from childhood that they are trans. There's this idea that to be trans, a child needs to show distain to things stereotypical to their afab. To be allowed to be trans man, 6 year old you had to hate dresses and barbies. To be a trans woman, 6 year old you had to hate hot wheels and haircuts.
Well that's bullshit. You can be trans and figure that out as a 20 year old. Maybe as a 40 year old! Even 60 year old people still come out as trans at their age. And many people who come out as trans in later years actually were fine with stereotypical agab stuff. So what if you were fine with wearing dresses as a kid and you are afab? Doesn't make you a girl by standard! You can be genderqueer, trans, nonbinary, bigender, whatever. Your childhood experience with gender does NOT have to define who you are now!
And as a final note, does anyone know and wanna recommend some good trans media (including books) where they discover themselves later on in life? Would love to see stuff like teen self discovery stories where they didnt know as a child.

“Beatrice is a very guarded individual,”[...] “I think her upbringing and her life up to the point where we meet her in the beginning of the first season has kind of forced her to become protective of herself and her true nature.” [...] “I think she's very logical, very calculating, but also still a real softy on the inside. Though I think that's the part of her that she doesn't really nurture that much until we start to see her going on this journey with Ava [the Warrior Nun] and with the other sisters throughout the two seasons where she can actually start becoming more open and more free and more herself.” [...] “I am not actually sure whether she was originally written to be Asian,” [...] “I suspect so because of the style of martial arts that she does, and I guess that little bit of Asian perfectionism stereotype that was sprinkled in there.” “I think growing up I was very much a know-it-all child. I felt like I had to prove myself all the time to be smarter and be better and be the best in class and do everything perfectly in order for other people to see my value. That I had to bring something useful to the table or just be useful to other people and to make other people proud. And then as I've kind of gotten older, I've realized that, you know, that's not very interesting. You can be a living, breathing, colorful human being and also be all of those good things that you know you can bring from your skill set.” The show itself was not about queerness or race, but it did make striking statements about both topics despite its gentler touch. While Beatrice was both queer and Asian, those aspects informed her character but didn’t define her. At no point was she treated as a simple side character or reduced to a love interest or a stereotype. For actors like Tonteri-Young who are Asian or of mixed race, it is not just their craft they are often recognized for but also the representation they are expected to shoulder whether they want it or not. “It's my pleasure,” [...] “It's a great honor to have played her..."

what really drives me crazy about my experience with gossip girl is that I didn't watch it at all while it was airing. no idea why I was like completely untouched by it. I remember people occasionally mentioning it at school but we allllll watched glee and would literally talk about it in class with the teachers like it was an assignment and gossip girl was just not hot like that to us

And That's What You Really Missed - Chris Colfer Edition
Just finished the 3rd podcast episode of, "That's What You Really Missed," featuring Chris Colfer.
My Takeaways
We all knew Chris had a rough time growing up in Clovis, CA, and then of course he lands Glee at the wise age of 18 which put him in the stratosphere, but damn. It sounds like he lived through quite a nightmare, but how wonderful that he came out so fabulous on the other side. Really proud of him.
Did not know he's written 19 books. NINETEEN!!! Good grief.
Possibly Controversial Opinion Ahead
I think Chris grew to detest Klaine. I think he appreciates the importance of the story for many, and is proud of what it meant to people....BUT, I think he was over it mighty quick. His comments about working with Mike O'Malley and the Kurt/Burt relationship were lovely. Klaine...well, it was a fantasy. One he wasn't super cool with which based on his high school experiences, makes total sense, especially back then. Listening to him along with Jenna and Kevin, I got the distinct feeling that he agreed to come on the show if he didn't have to go too far down the Klaine road, and so they didn't. At one point the conversation felt like he sent Jenna a text to change the subject.
Overally, it was another good episode. Fun to hear about the adventures of JACK - Jeanna, Amber, Chris and Kevin, and to learn more about Chris's experiences.
Next up: Showmance!
