DAY 19: KANSAS CITY, MO

I was hung over. I didn’t drink my preventative Berocca the night before, so I tried to down one in the morning. Eventually I got my lazy ass up and showered, and of course, Pete was already at the fucking gym. This guy I tell ya. Kat and I walked along Westport and found a patio to grab some food because I was dying. Still pretty hung over, we got salads to be healthy, except they were so massive, and hers came with a piece of fried chicken on it. I think our ‘healthy’ expectation was already vito’d. After lunch we went into a store called The Bunker where I bought 2 dresses, one to wear to Dana’s wedding in July (yay so excited!) and one I have no idea where I’ll wear it, but it makes me feel good wearing it, so i’ll find a place. I also got a skirt, cause I’m on vacation okay? Kat and Pete bought some stuff too. Success!

We sauntered over to Broadway Coffee for some lattes, and headed towards the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Admission is free, which is amazing. The museum is really cute, not huge, but the pieces they have are really interesting and intriguing to look at. We spent about 1-1 1/2 hours there I would say. I would fully recommend it. Then we walked over to a different museum area with a beautiful green park and large art instalments on the lawn. We frolicked around for another hour or so, and stumbled upon a glass maze. That was really trippy. Kat and I basically held hands and had our hands out just trying not to rush head first into a glass wall. Once we made it out alive, we walked home and got ready for happy hour. Yay, 2 more free drinks each before going out!

After a lovely happy hour (actually 2 hours), I ran upstairs and had to trick my computer into thinking I was back in Canada so I could stream the very first episode of Blood, Sweat, and Tools that had broadcast the night before. So great Helder!! You should be very proud :)

We took the hotel shuttle to Zocalo, a Mexican restaurant in the Plaza in KC. We met up with my good friend/mama Anjuli’s sister, Sandy, who’s doing her fellowship in Kansas City for paediatric cardiology. We had some yummy foods (taco count 5?) and yummy drinks (sangria) and laughs, then she dropped us back at our hotel/Flea market, where we went in for a few last cheap beers and a bit of shuffleboard before heading back into the hotel for our final night in Kansas City. Goodnight sweet angels xo.
