Imagine there is, like, a Collector AU. One of the platonic yans (or all of them, some moreso than others) have this little station or mansion or weird zoo, where they collect the insect hybrid or insect alien or insect monster other adults, the other platonic yan teens, and then eventually Reader. Reader is the new being added to the collection, and is going through a period where they're being watched over and having notes taken of their reactions, their habits, their likes, their dislikes, and any abilities or disabilities they have. Once that's done, they're placed with either an adult caretaker or in a special enclosure/room that is specially made for them.

The Collector/s aren't malicious, but they want to preserve their friends and kids, away from the evils and hardships of the universe, and decided to keep them locked away where they'd never be able to leave, and given special collars or medicine so they don't want to leave (basically hypnotized or brainwashed to not want to leave and to not be scared). The two most likely to be doing this are Xavier and Magneto, with possibly Beast in on it too. Potentially the other four are in on it, but for the most part, Beast, Storm, Mystique, Wolverine, and Sabretooth are in their instincts/have been fully hypnotized/brainwashed. So they aren't much help to terrified Reader, who keeps trying to break out, only to be dragged back by whichever adult/s is/are watching them.

The teens might have been taken when they were younger, so all of this is normal for them. To them and the five adults who aren't fully Collectors, Reader is misguided, confused, and adjusting, so they shouldn't take any threats or fear to heart. If anything, they need to steer Reader down the right path, to the right choices. If that doesn't work, they'll need to let the adults handle the next step to calming Reader down...

It isn't all bad, being in this grand place that is like a zoo/museum/mansion. There's large, crystal clear pools, with waterfalls and hanging gardens. There's fresh fruits growing from special, unknown trees, with little pitchers and cups of honey and nectar and ambrosia scattered across the entire place. The different rooms are full of blankets, nests, cells like a beehive, pillows, stuffed animals, and many books that explain the different species each person is. Some rooms have food set up in them, with honeyed meats and sweet vegetables and tasty desserts and snacks. There's even a few off-limits rooms, that smell of sweet smoke and antiseptic, which are only used on occasion...

The different species have different needs and wants, but aren't based entirely on real-life insects. There are star moths, who have light powers and elemental use, with different subspecies for each element. There are beemons, who can have all forms of stingers and fluff, and tend to have some form of yellow, black, green, brown, or warmer colors. There's the mantoids, with sharp hands and who are elegant, with longer legs and mystical abilities. There's even the spidears, who tend to have multiple arms or legs that are fuzzy, and can sometimes have psychic abilities and can create silk...
