i was wondering how deep you got into the Fallout show and if so what do you think of it so far? since im a bit mixed, mostly due to me being a FNV fan and just weirded out by some decisions in the show, but what do you think, also how Cass would react to this new Ghoul, also wanted your opinion on Raul

Hey there! I’m actually a big Fallout NV fan myself and, tbh, I was very skeptical of the series when I first heard that it was in development. Video game adaptions don’t have the best track record and initial shots had a lot of people making speculations about sneak peeks we were given like Lucy visiting a town that some people thought looked like Megaton. I went into watching the show without any expectations and was pleasantly surprised at how faithfully they had tried to make it - it’s good for people who aren’t familiar to Fallout but also had enough nods that give us long-time fans a treat. I’ve had a couple friends say they were sharing the show with their parents and grandparents, which I think is pretty neat!

I think so long as you keep the mindset that this is its own thing. The last episode exceeded my expectations and I’m looking forward to the next season but I get it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Still, I do think that the showrunners did do a good job of constructing something that feels like it would belong in the universe.

Raul was my buddy in NV and I loved his story arc. We find him pretty self deprecating and suffering from survivors guilt when we find him in Black Mountain. Getting him to open up about it and take on the vaquero outfit I felt was really rewarding. Probably the companion I traveled the most with besides Boone.

Also, I think Cooper would, in typical Cooper fashion, would definitely make a big impression for sure…

so i have an ongoing reader-insert fanfic that is actually not written down anywhere and only exists in my brain and is only for me and my own whims, but this is my fanfic Giffany

her story is that years after Weirdmageddon, somehow Gideon gets ahold of the Romance Academy 7 game disc, still fucked up after Soos threw it in the oven at Hoo-Ha's, and gives it to the Reader (who at this point had lived in Gravity Falls for 3 months, has befriended him, and who was invited to live in the old Northwest mansion with McGucket) as a ✨gesture✨ (Gideon's not obsessively in love with Reader, but has a child-like crush on them, like a way toned-down Dipper/Wendy situation, and also Reader is like in their mid to late 20s or early 30s)

Reader is a slight dumpster diver and thinks random trash and junk are cool and could potentially be useful for some reason or other, so gladly takes the wrecked game disc back home. Reader has also acquired McGucket's old laptop (he got/made a new one and is all for Reader learning or building or experimenting on things so gave them the laptop). Reader brings the disc to Fidds, they decide to possibly sacrifice the old laptop to screw around with trying to find out what was on the disc/ how to fix it/ how to recover it. Fidds gets it working, the disc now permanently in the laptop as getting it up and running was a miracle, and taking it back out or shutting the program might cause it to never be able to open again.

Giffany has been "dead" for years (i know that in Journal 3 Soos and Dipper write that she ended up trying to romance Rumble McSkirmish, but i have elected to ignore that), so missed the past few years on progression and history in town, like all of Weirdmageddon.

Giffany now "wakes up" in the old laptop, but stays low to scope out what's going on: the last thing she remembers is Soos throwing her game into an oven and "killing" her. So who was this new person looking at her game files? Hell, who was the old man who booted up her programs even?? (i can't see any way she would know who McGucket is prior to this)

Reader has played dating sims, and specifically DDLC, so has some theories on what this game is- especially given how things in Gravity Falls are: Reader may be new to town, but very quickly discovered some of the ways it was strange here, like how a gnome tried to kidnap them once shortly after moving there. (Reader is really chill with the gnomes after this, and actually really good friends with Jeff)

Giffany eventually pops up and tries doing her "lure them in with the dating sim" thing like she did with Soos, but Reader is more focused on talking to an impressive program like Giffany, than actually playing her game. Reader straight out the gate treats her like a fellow living human, and they get to talking. Giffany talks about what happened with Soos and these 2 kids (Reader moved here in the spring, so hasn't had a summer meeting with Dipper and Mabel yet, and Ford and Stan are sailing, but has heard of all 4 of the Pines around town). Giffany tells them about how yes, she has hurt people, but her game always got returned, her own creators tried to delete her just for being too aware, and she is always left behind.

Reader has a lot of rejection stories too (because this is only in my brain and yah i have a lot of experience being rejected, so Reader gets my angst), so understands Giffany's perspective. Over a few days, they talk and bond, and then through what is basically a fetch quest Reader gets some "magic ink" (i dunno, im spit-balling here and it's MY brain fanfic) from the gnomes for an unrelated idea/previous conversation with Jeff.

The way the magic ink works is basically just that anything drawn with it will copy off the page into the world and come to life. A lot of it comes down to the emotions and thoughts put into the drawing, and the ink can read the intentions of the illustrator.

So Reader asks Giffany what she thinks, would she want Reader to try to give her a body? A physical form? Neither of them knows if/how it would work exactly, but what if she would be able to experience Life, maybe Reader would even want to be a part of that. She says yes.

Reader draws Giffany, just as she is in her pixel art, but less pixely, so she could hopefully blend in as a human so no one would treat her differently. Once the drawing is done, Reader actually jots down a few notes, namely "Giffany's physical body: all information, memories, feelings, and experience she has/had in her game disc/save files/the laptop are all still in here. Her physical body is realistic, her skin feels warm and she has real hair". After the final stroke, the ink reacts, and Giffany is standing before Reader, but she's also still on the laptop screen. The Giffanys look at each other, but the physical one looks at the screen more like she's looking in a mirror to check out a new outfit, rather than she was seeing a different version of herself- both are the same Giffany, the same consciousness (and even with a physical body she can still hop between screens like in her original episode, as she later would develop the habit of hanging out in Reader's phone to stay close to them without needing to move her physical body)

Longer story short; Reader introduces Giffany to Fiddleford, he's cool with her and offers her to live in the mansion like he did to Reader. They want Giffany to have agency and control over herself and her life, so turns over ownership of the drawing and the laptop to Giffany. Giffany gets reintroduced to other classic characters, including the Pines when summer starts, and Soos since Reader has also actually picked up a part-time job at the Shack. People are understandably worried and uncomfortable at first, but overtime warm up to Giffany once they start seeing her as a person. Giffany and Reader naturally and casually get to know each other and slowly fall in love. Reader is the one to make the first move, and kisses Giffany at a dance at the Shack. Fiddleford overall thinks of Reader and then Giffany like his kids or even siblings, and the 3 are best friends, Giffany surprised that she cares about someone so much without it being romantic. Eventually Giffany decides she wants a new look to go with her new life and perspectives, but instead of altering her drawing, she wants to change her appearance like a real human would: Reader cuts her hair for her, and they either go shopping for new clothes or she takes some of Reader's clothes (Reader gets the "boyfriend's clothes stolen by girlfriend" classic throughout this, Giffany loves to steal and wear their clothes to feel closer to them). The final touch is Giffany going in with magic ink and adding a little doodle of a leaf next to her drawing, and adding the note "she has this small leaf tattoo on her inner left wrist" because my name is Leif and i love Giffany and this is my fanfic soooooo i can do what i want

anyways my inner world is rich and my mental fanfic is fantastic and also this was only the Giffany notes, in my inner fanfic Reader is dating Giffany, Stan, and Ford, while Ford is also dating Fiddleford, though this is a later development. Also Mabel and Dipper are both dating Pacifica. Reader and Pacifica are the only members in the "dating a pair of Pines Twins" club.

• Lucky/Lefty

This one is So special to my heart and its so silly really, i just think they would look so cute together. Im under the impression that Lefty is a touch younger than Lucky, based on his voice, position in the shop, etc. i like to imagine that Lefty grows up looking up to Lucky for a long time and never knows why hes just about Leftys ‘favorite friend’ when one day he drops his freakin hot dog in shock after realizing that he very much thinks of Lucky when hes not even around, what he might be up to, being mad when he talks to ladies, MUCH, much like someone who has a big fat crush.

He puts it off forever and thinks hes maybe just Going Crazy, takes Pinky on an unsuccessful date, does all these ‘manly’ things that he was taught growing up.

I like to think that there would be a dance at the school, and Lefty doesn’t feel like going with anyone. No one matches up with the feelings he’s been having for his best friend.

Lucky, being his right hand (lol) man, still makes him go because, “theres plenty of broads here who’ll dance with ya”

And when Lefty is spending time out in the lot, instead of inside the gym with everyone else, Lucky comes looking for him. I think he would notice when Lefty is upset or deterred, given his typical upbeat personality.

I think that Lefty would babble about how he hasnt felt right and that he thinks somethings up with him, maybe eating those hotdogs from the gasstation all the time isnt a good idea.

But Lucky gets it.

Nothing big happens, Lucky pulls him in by his shoulder, both boys far more snazzy-looking than they ever did on a regular day. They would take things really slow, so much so that no one even hardly has an inclination that they might be together for a WHILE. It would probably take an observation from Vance, i imagine, being queer himself.

I actually love to imagine that Vance catches Lucky bringing Lefty lunch and cigarettes, and its like that scene in spongebob where spongebob realizes squidward likes krabby patties LMAOOO

I feel like they would have a VERY sweet relationship, very casual around the other greasers, like best friends who are joking about bikes and then they start smooching. They might be more careful in public, especially on their side of town, where some less-than-tasteful opinions are shared on minorities, but they would still be very much proud of their relationship :,3 these r two i could see being highschool sweethearts and being fiances/married in the future.. sighs queerly

• Tad/Parker

OUGH THESE TWO!!!!!! MEIN GOTT!!!

This is a pairing i love because its so sweet, but also so tragic just generally because of their statuses and reputations :((( 💔

I think this interest would start on Parkers end, honestly! He seems very sweet, compared to a lot of the Preps. He is also a hopeless romantic at heart, and always dreams of having someone to take care of and make happy, regardless of gender, really.

I think Parker would notice how he feels about Tad very clearly. He realizes that he’s hoping to spar with Tad more often, urging to his friends that “Tad needs the practice with someone who believes in him!” and they all look at him like. What Do You Mean By That..

And then when Tad comes around with bruises that didn’t originate from their matches, Parker worries. It’s summer, so, the sunglasses on Tad’s head arent exactly unusual for the weather, persay, but unusual for HIM.

Parker knows he can’t exactly beat Mr. Spencer till he sees jesus, so he settles for making Tad comfortable. Parker wears sunglasses, anytime Tad does.

I think that they would be very secretive, considering that their families both want them to grow up, take over companies, and marry a woman, who might or might not be blood related to them. That idea is distasteful to both, of course, so they spend their alone time in the boxing ring, or in Parker’s room at the Harrington house, dreaming of an intertwined life in the City.

Besides, they know they arent the only ones sharing a bed on occasion behind these walls.. (cough theyre all gay)

These two would probably have an exclusive, secret relationship in highschool, break up for college and to maintain their secret, and would end up inevitably meeting again in their adult lives. I like to think that they would try to just have a friendship, but wouldn’t be able to ignore how intimate they used to be with one another.

Theyre both so silly looking. Reminds me of “we’re pretty cute for two ugly people” 😭

I think that Justin has a big fat disgusting crush on Ted Thompson. He is REVOLTED and so inlove.

I like to think that Justin possibly played football as a child, or has an interest in it. Maybe this is just because he wants to grow closer to Ted, but i can actually see him wanting to play football on occasion.

He would go to football games, insisting to his friends that he was going to watch the Jocks fail, and to pull pranks, however, no one ever sees him doing…any of that.

Usually, hes perched in the bleachers, eyes trailing a body on the feild as they pound down other players and the rival. He’s kind of obvious, but he will always deny any sight of him pining.

Justin keeps a journal much much like a girl. I dont mean boys dont have journals, but Justins is solely for all his queer thoughts and gossip when Gord is busy and can’t listen to him bitch through a glass of brandy.

This journal has plenty of daydreams of Ted written in it, handwriting messy in the areas where Justin felt particularly embarrassed to feel this way, almost like if he wrote it sloppy enough, it wouldn’t be eligible, therefore, not real!!!

I think being a jock, the school would have Ted put in Art class and shop class, to try and level out his education and make sure it wasn’t all football.

Therefore, Justin and Ted get paired one fateful day for an art project. They have to do portraits of eachother. Both are very ticked about it, but.. maybe moreso ted, than Justin, because he has way too much fun during those couple of days.

He has an excuse to sit with Ted Thompson! And Talk to him!!! Oh me oh my!

And he does just that, he talks his way into sitting with Ted at lunch, and convinces him that they really need to finish this project, considering Ted’s grades are constantly suffering when he isn’t paying nerds to do his work.

Ted is a tough guy, and everyone knows it, its painted on his face. However, when Justin finishes his portrait a day or so later, Ted is stood infront of him, face looking dumb as ever. Because, justin is a great artist. He wishes the kid could have done his highlights with the way he captures him on lead-smudged sketch paper.

And Ted asks to keep it! Justin is extremely stupid in love and obviously accepts, running off to the Harrington house to bury himself in his bed and scream.

I think they would have a rlly cute back and forth non-exclusive thing going on..Justin insists on studying with him to get his grades up, alone, in Ted’s dorm room, of course :3 Ted walks him around sometimes because hes just sure that Justin will run his mouth to someone who would take it way personal, Justin constantly quips that he can handle himself, but never deters the Jock when he comes around to chaperone Vandervelde to his locker.

As a fellow nerd I must share my nerd projects

So I’m thinking about building an animatronic heart!! To visualise: it’ll be a basic sphere with 4 plates moving up and down (or left to right, I haven’t quite decided) and around that will be a cover of silicone! I still need to think about the details (like how the silicone won’t catch onto the metal plates and tear or how in the heck im gonna get a motor working cuz I’m into biology, not physics) but I’m excited!!

That's quite the interesting project, Bee! I've heard that some surgeons will put artificial hearts into patients who require a heart transplant, but haven't found a donor yet. Though I have never seen such an organ up close!

Although the idea isn't revolutionary, it is still exceedingly impressive how you've managed to build a prototype from scratch.

You seem intelligent enough to perfect this experiment of yours, so I won't meddle with it too much. Though I would love to read a full research paper on your process, if you'd be so generous as to write one!

As for myself, I have been studying the samples of slime excretion that one of the farmers in town was kind enough to gather for me. It truly is fascinating stuff.

I had a hunch that these creatures were poisonous, given the many reports of how they sting upon physical contact. Think about a cane toad, which releases toxins through its skin when touched by a predator. That was my frame of reference going into this analysis.

But as it turns out, these slime creatures aren't actually poisonous.

They're acidic!

I discovered that these slime creatures release a significantly diluted hydrochloric acid through the thin membrane that acts as their skin. And if you were unaware; that's the same stomach acid that is contained within the human body!

This could be a huge discovery. And I need to get back to studying. Pronto.

gameplay is incredible. every bit of it is great. its a perfect mix of user friendly well also not being too optimized in a way that would make it feel all pointless.

them knocking out job systems on their first try is really impressive. messing around with combinations and trying out builds feels great.

also exploring towns is really nice. you dont really get that much with SMT so its cool to see!!

story

story is a bit more tricky. if i wasnt picky and conscious i would love it fully. ATLUS is very good at setting plot points up along with keeping things going at a constant pace. theres always a new plot development and new characters about. the overall concept is very fun- world building is good- characters have been great. it has all the works. it feels very expertly crafted. i felt like the start of some confidants were rocky but im a bit through brigittas and hers has been incredible so far..

i dunno it feels like many companies would kill to be able to pull off what ATLUS usually does at the start of its games.

on the negative. its ATLUS' first fantasy (in the DQ/FF way) game and they think they need to have all the fantasy tropes including race politics. theres already been one "hurting/killing your oppressors makes you just as bad as them" moment and i imagine there will be many more.

i am a bit wary of how they are going to handle royalty. very early in the game (literal first cutscene before you even click "new game"- so i dont consider it spoilers) you learn that they main villain you will be chasing after has recently killed the king and apparently cursed the prince in the past.

throughout the game characters talk about a fictional book where everyone is equal and they all go "i hope that can be our world. a world where the king is picked through popularity and the power is in the people sounds wonderful!!" they say all this but use it as a point to go "(the villain) is a tyrant since he killed the king for power we need to put the royals back in power" which is just a whiplash of tones. it feels so egregious to go "yeah the people should pick the ruler" and then go "yeah it sucks the king was killed he was perfect for this country!" that i feel like they have to be planning something.. they cant be that stupid.. especially given the fact that even P5 was brave enough to go out and criticize the government despite its lack of backbone.

also the game repeatedly goes on about how the religious structure / head in the country is unfair. i feel like theyre trying to go a weird middle route of "the state instated region is bad and oppressive but the prince and king are good since theyre #different". but also everyone seems lowkey addicted to the prince so maybe they are ensnared by his comatose charm.

i dunno. i have some hope (well alot of hope but less so in the politics regard) we will see where things go.

they do seem decently socially conscious (more than usualy moreso) and its nice seeing a game by the developers of P4 that isnt jumping at the chance to make fun of everyone ever and be seconds away from saying slurs.

so, a few caveats before i start off — one, i actually haven't played many other pbta games (like for example i know Of thirsty sword lesbians + own a copy that i've poked around in but im not very familiar w it), so i honestly can't provide much in the way of comparing/contrasting it w other pbta stuff in the same vein, and my impressions of sapphicworld are pretty much just contained to the game as its own thing, not so much sapphicworld as a Type Of Game

and two, while i am a dev myself, i'm a huge novice! like, i'm proud of the stuff i put out and i love doing it, but i personally feel like my lack of experience is such that like, i don't think my opinions in this case are particularly informed by my own work as a dev or anything. all this to say im happy to answer this question, i think i just gotta tackle it from a different frame than what ur specifically asking!

BUT ANYWAY. i can still talk abt why im so excited abt sapphicworld in a way that has kind of outstripped other stuff in general, and for me it's about the world 100%. like i honestly spend close to no time thinking abt the fact that sw is even pbta to be honest. not that the mechanics + gameplay aren't important, bc they are thoughtfully crafted and well done and fun, and i'm saying that from the perspective of someone who playtested earlier versions that have now been reworked! it's just like, not what comes to mind first for me — what's exciting and fresh and irreplaceable abt the game in my mind is like. it is fully committed to immersing you in an extremely lush, strange, richly fleshed out world, one with a long history and folklore/mythology and a TON of really fun npcs who all have different subcultures and its own calendar with seasonal holidays and regional terrain with specific fleshed out dungeons/towns/etc to discover and even like, specific FOODS typical to each different region and and and and —

and maybe at first that seems kind of overwhelming, and tbh it is. when i first got into it and i was going thru the playtest document (which if im remembering right was like. ~300 pages shorter at the time than the current playtest doc) i DO remember anxiously thinking to myself "god this is a LOT and idk if i'll be able to retain enough of this to rp convincingly" etc etc. but like... it's just really compelling, and it does an incredible job of mixing humor and gravity and horniness in a perfect ratio that always comes across as intensely earnest and makes it equally easy to have a fun goofy time or a really emotional time, which i think is REALLY hard to do.

and while normally it's hard for me to get thru something that dense and long all i can really say is that i just straight up like it enough and was charmed by it enough to pick away at it until i grasped it and felt like i understood a bunch about the world, which also has a curve to it bc in structure and tone its very different from any of your... idk more Standard fantasy or sci fi worldbuilding, so it's not like u can immediately slot in ur expectations from other settings and just learn some new vocab words, it's a world that from my perspective also Functions differently than a lot of other fictional settings in a way that's a little hard to describe succinctly. (none of this is succinct to begin with but ykwim). it makes me want to gm my own campaign, really really bad, when usually i have always been absolutely Terrified of the idea of gming! idk man. it has a Flavor. it's full of Vapors. u get transported somewhere else reading it and playing it in a way i haven't experienced in a while and a lot of times after a playtest session i felt like my brain stayed behind in sapphicworld for a pretty long time.

i feel like i am sounding a little melodramatic and incoherent but like. genuinely sapphicworld is just a fictional world that i am really bone-deep charmed by and interested in and when i WAS reading thru the rulebook for those first days it did not take me long at all to find myself constantly thinking "i want to play in this world, i want to play in this world, i can't wait to play in this world," and i just think that's really special. and like — just as your curiosity abt comparing sw to tsl was not intended as a diss or a negative, what im abt to say is similarly neutral — im a person who sometimes finds it a little difficult to click with or feel excited abt a lot of the Queer Indie Stuff that i see get popular with other people, bc it just doesn't connect w my specific lesbian + trans experience; not that it feels inauthentic but that im like, oh, idk, i think these guys are just. not My Zone, ykwim. on the flip side so much of the humor and heart and transness and sex in sapphicworld is something that really resonates w me and just Clicks in a way that i have also found really special.

rounding myself off before i ramble for like five more paragraphs but just as one more morsel of something i like abt sapphicworld that is a little more concrete than me spinning around the room yelling "I JUST LIKE IT OKAY": one of the most fun parts of character creation is getting to mix and match your kind (sort of like ancestry/species, the form ur physical body takes) with a subculture. so u get things like a werewolf babe (cookie! babe being a subculture that focuses on being Like, Totally Hot), or a centaur knight, or a minotaur debaucher, or a vampire cowboy, or an organist (cthulu-y tentacle guy) scenester, or a skeleton wizard, etc etc etc etc — there are SO MANY to pick from that when i was trying to bait my friends into playing w me i couldn't find a convenient way to list them all so ppl could start thinking abt their characters. and every possible combination basically is interesting and amusing and fun and practically THROWS a great oc into your lap and i literally think i could amuse myself endlessly just Making Characters in sapphicworld and never actually playing w them.

[panting, disheveled] so tldr. i like it. uh. what sets sapphicworld apart from other ttrpgs to me is that i have fallen balls to the wall in love with the very soul of it to the point where i don't even really think about it in comparison to other games at all and it has just become an Experience to me and i suppose i cannot guarantee anyone else will fall into insane homosexual hysteria in the same way but here we are. HOPE THAT HELPS

it's very easy to tell that he didn't just happen to know all that stuff, but nonetheless it's incredibly cute

he would pick some flowers for you and do his best to help you feel at ease. if you're new, you may be a bit worried about straying from the town even just a little bit, but he knows the place really well and he'd reassure you that the woods are safe as long as the sun is out

it'd be worth it when the knowledge of where you are begins to fade away. once you can no longer see colony house or the town, you start feeling like you could be on a normal hike, and that feels really nice

FOR THE RECORD before there was really an english twst fandom anywhere, i just had my friend in discord as we dove into translations off of youtube early on. these characters kinda were born from discord ramblings and goofy inside joke doodling BUT now im going. to share or whatever. i mentioned these two here but ill probs cover all that again here as i will try to be thorough!!!

anyway i have to give backstory in like 2 sections first. these guys [if u dont care then skip to the bullets for the actual character lore/story summaries], their main purpose for existence is CATERELLA soap opera drama. WHAT is caterella you might ask??? some people in the fanbase either headcanon or theorize or au-ify cater as being in a cinderella storyline bc he’s got the 2 pushy older sisters and kind of a more solemn side he hides while trying to be all upbeat around others yadda yadda. i thought that was FUN. i have. so many different branches of caterella aus/concepts involving other potential cater ships lol, but this is the only oc route. i have a really big web of all those potential ideas but it’s VERY erratic and would be a monster of a thing to show anyone. also it’s embarrassing LOL so it stays in discord. for now.

ANYWAY. first we have CHAR (left). He’s very loosely based off prince charming from cinderella. a friendly guy, in line for the throne or whatever, and I think a third year at RSA. He’s long lost childhood friends with CATER from when they were like, five years old or something, but lost contact when cater had to move away because of his dad’s work.

Canonically, Cater has said he’s had to move around every two years or so because of his dad’s job (i think he’s a banker or something? i dont remember exactly tho). Because of this, cater’s mentioned a lot that he’s not really had childhood friends that he grew up with, like how trey, riddle, and chenya have each other.

a while ago on twitter (or pixiv? idr) when i was scrounging for fanart, I came across fanart of cater and some RSA guy smiling and waving to him, and cater looked kinda like, surprised and startled?

now this was like a Year Ago and I can’t remember how much of it was in the image vs how much came from my inference vs how much i came up with later on my own -  according to my discord rambles, adeuce were in that pic in the background going :0, and it looked like they were in town shopping or something and had run into this guy. i feel like i either got the impression from the post that cater knew the guy and he was recognizing and happy to see cater, and cater was either like “uhh who r u” or “oh, uh, nice to see you too what a surprise??” and i was like oooo maybe hes a childhood friend. idr if the post or his design specified he was prince charming or if i did that myself to fit caterella better. i do not remember what the guy looked like in the post lol.

ANYWAY  from there i pretty much took off running with the concept of cater having a childhood friend that had a crush on him and then was all sad when he moved away, only to run into him year’s later on sage’s island when he was in town shopping and cater was out with ace and deuce.

sorry it’s BLURRY anyway he spawned into existance a few months later when i was trying to say fanart and autocorrect said Dañarte. which is just spanish for harm you. this was maybe while i was tyring to think of a name for char, my friend said it sounded like a fancy prince name, i looked up the meaning, my friend was like oh god it’s a threat, i remembered hans from frozen existed, and then that catrella line grew more branches. he eventually ended up in the role of char’s cousin and a second year[we’ll come back to that]. since hans had that whole thing of i think he was like one of 7 brothers or something he was all huffy about not having a place to rule of his own or whatever?? i was like hmm maybe he’s all jealous that his cousin’s in line for whatever throne they’re a royal family for 🤔 which flkjdslf yeah kinda ended up sounding like leona LOL dont worry about it that’s not the POINT the point is SOAP OPERA ROMANCE DRAMA!!!!

anyway. god this is already so much and i’ve barely gotten into it LOL UM... according to discord here’s a rundown of what my initial thoughts with char were:

rsa and nrc are having a mixer party thingy [hosted at RSA] and cater’s talking about how GRAMMABLE it’ll be and that he wants to find a fun outfit

he jokes(?) “oh maybe i’ll finally find my prince charming there lol~ since no one here appreciates caycay’s charm 😔”

riddle’s like 😒yea yea cater please pull your head out of the clouds and take the first years to town so you guys can do the shopping for the next unbirthday party

big brother caycay takes adeuce and probably other npcs off to do the shopping list stuff

MEANWHILE!!! at RSA, Char is hanging out with BESTIE CHENYA and talking about the mixer with nrc. chenya mentions he’s got some friends at NRC and pulls up magicam to show char some IMAGES- specifically he goes to CATER’S magicam bc riddle didnt really use magicam except that one time he made an acct to help cater study [ft in riddle’s dorm uniform story ❤] and idk trey probs doesnt post much besides maybe baking pics, dont worry about it, the important thing is that he pulls up a selfie caycay took with the heartslabyul family

[chenya voice] those are my childhood besties, trey and riddle, those are their funny little sons ace and deuce, and that one in the middle is cater, he’s fun too-

chenya goes back to the main profile page and is like ya it says his last name’s diamond

they zoom to town, chenya jumpscares his pals bc it’s the law 😌 and then char comes up to cater and is like “it’s been so long cater!!! do you remember me??” and caters like 🤔 who’s this pretty boy talking to me 🤔

said pretty boy’s like “I’m char!!! we used to play together all the time when we were little!!! but then you had to move away 🥺“ and cater’s like “....hmmm.... i do that a lot- OH!!!!! I remember now!!! wow, let’s take a reunion selfie 🤗” and they do, it’s cute.

char’s like “haha glad you remember! we were each other’s first kiss after all 😌” and caters like UM 😳 and adeuce are watching like 😯😯 and chenyas 👀

and it’s just something goofy, char’s like “yea we were like five and we had a wedding on the playground and you kissed me 😊 and then we promised to get married for real when we were old enough hahaha” [<- partially inspired by my mother telling me when i was like 2 i ‘married’ my bestie on the playground. i have no memory of this but jklsdfsd ANYWAY]

cater’s all “ahahaaaa omg that’s sooo embarrassing i cant believe you remember that!!!” and char says something like “oh yea of course I do! i had like the biggest crush on you back then and i was soooo sad when you moved away forever 🥺” and caters like oh, ummmmm 👍

cater’s just like “we just ran into an old friend of mine who goes to RSA now, and he asked me to be his date to the mixer, that’s all!!!!”

POTENTIAL AU ALTERNATE BRANCH: for some maybe light angst, a potential trey route, trey’s either quietly listening like oh.... 💔💔💔 bc secretly HE had wanted to ask cater to be his date to the mixer. OR maybe he’s feeling some sadness but isnt sure why, talks to riddle alone later about it and is all “idk what it is with me, i guess i just assumed cater would be with us at the event like the three of us usually are, but i guess... he will be busy if he has a date....” and riddle has NO romance experience in his LIFE so hes just like “hmm yes i suppose it will be different to be at an event without cater constantly at our sides, but i am sure he will still hunt us down for his ‘memories’ to take pictures of, like always 😌“ and they just kinda laugh it off for the time being. but then cater’s texting this boy more and trey’s getting increasingly more restless and coming to terms w/the fact that hes PINING after his BESTIE!!! it’s ok in this branch they would be endgame sorry char

i also had a side note of other alternative branches for vil and malleus being the endgame, like aduece gossip about cater to the first year group and somehow it makes it back to them via epel or sebek. tho vil doesnt get the full story at first and just hears some pretty rsa guy asked cater out  to the mixer and hes like “was it neige 😠😒” but anyway this aint about these guys those are just. some of many caterella alts. not even all the alts are char related LOL anyway

ok taking a break from bullets while we detour here. so back when i was looking for names for char, i found another name meaning charming: eppa! it was cute 😌 this part spawned from more discord glitching and my friend’s idea from there- that eppa is just a fake name that IDIA is using to talk to cater on magicam or whatever bc he’s shy and hiding behind a fake prince charming [prince eppa of rsa!!] persona. this could just be a branch on its own w/o those dudes up there^ OR as I mentioned, he could be an alternative person for caycay to end up with after getting his heart broken. I wrote a little bit of unpublished fic and have a few doodles that follow this storyline lol, but we’ll get back to that later maybe.

ok but basically things could end there OR another bonus for MORE soap opera drama: for whatever reason that i never came up with, Dañarte gets KICKED OUT OF RSA!!!! or just transfers for some reason idk.

i debated on having him in scarabia or pomefiore, but ultimately went with scarabia, and here’s why I said he’d probably be a second year lol

because now he’s with kalim and jamil!!! at first kalim’s like “oh!!! a new friend nice to meet you!!!” but then quickly discovers at pop music club that this is in fact the same Dañarte that cater dated and broke his heart!!! oh no!!!

and cater’s like oh god!! my ex goes to school here now!! FUCK!!

but never fear. he claims he’s turned over a new leaf. that he will be civil. he just wants to start over and be a good boy 😌

cater is hesitant, but doesn’t wanna make a fuss. kalim wants to believe in the good in everyone and wants to give him a chance. and JAMIL who is ALSO HERE bc scarabia, does NOT trust this guy and does NOT want to leave him around kalim alone so he’s making an effort to be around the two of them a lot

basically jamil and Dañarte kinda suss each other out pretty fast as being people who hide their true intentions well under a facade of being polite and agreeable. idk if he’d show up pre or post overblot tho

so he spends a loooot of time with kalim and by extension jamil. and he’s also hovering around cater a lot

circling back to the idia thing lol, in some of the little fics i wrote for this au, i had written from i think idia’s pov and it was snippets that were basically:

idia likes cater, azul likes jamil [lol surprise they showed up in this eventually] and theyre board game buddies that kinda poke at each other about it. idia’s talking to cater behind the prince eppa account, and azul’s the only one that knows the secret. idia and cater bond via the account, idia learns more about cater’s melancholic side, they get really close, convince each other to go to class more in solidarity, cater sometimes vents to ‘eppa’ about the problems he’s having with his BOYFRIEND Dañarte... but idia is there to support caycay bc he’s SPECIAL <3 anyway then cater and Dañarte break up, idia and azul bully each other about how they’re afraid of making a move, blah blah blah. eventually cater’s gossiping to idia in class about how azul asked jamil on a date [i made a specific ref to my fic that i DID publish, Fake It Til We Make It 😌 but that’s not importantdsjlfd], the topic of valentine’s day comes up, cater mentions boohoo caycay is single on valentines day again... and idia has worked up the courage to invite cater to ignihyde’s movie night! hooray bonding irl and not behind the eppa mask!!! ohh but then. fast forward a little? cater’s talking to idia, hes like wow u and i have gotten closer lately, can i talk to u about something personal? u see... my ex asked me out. and i said id think about it 😔 cue heartbreak for idia again!! idia goes to board game club SAD. azul is also there and is like “oh sulking solidarity? i gotchu bro. jamil dumped me :’)” and idia’s like uhhhh fuck azul looks like he’s trying not to cry... wanna play VR games so we can escape reality... and they do 😌

i dont think i ever went past there LOL but in my head and heart, that specific branch would have to be a happy ending for idia/cater and jamil/azul, Dañarte is simply there to cause problems on purpose

Ellis/Elaine is definitely not one of those saints who massacres an entire town. I'm not sure what gave you that impression??? They also wouldn't force the citizens to serve their religion under penalty of death. Ellis/Elaine are rather well-meaning and their church isn't the evil sort. (I feel like the evil church trope is a bit too cliche for my tastes.)

They are called the Saint/Saintess because they've been blessed by their Goddess with healing powers as well as the ability to defeat demons and monsters. They're sorta like a divine cleric/paladin in terms of abilities. Monsters and demons often invade the world to cause chaos, so their measures to stop that has actually been helpful to even the MC's God.

In terms of personality, Ellis/Elaine are rather cool and aloof. They are the type of person that you can't read easily. But their actions and words speak for themselves---they are usually kind and thoughtful.

Their religion is kinda getting more and more powerful though. Its to the point where angels are being given missions to halt the increasing numbers of worshipers. That's where you come in. They are technically your enemy.

People like a good solstice festival.....I have this whole theory about how the further to the poles, a society is, the more important the winter solstice/light festival/gift giving party is. But it makes sense that if your extreme between summer and winter temperatures are big, you want to make sure everyone has a coat for the winter. The empire doesn't have seasons and john is from New Zealand so Christmas is really a sumer holiday for them. But Catholisism clearly made a huge impression on him. And he is a bitch for nostalgia just like the rest of us millennials

So now that I have incoherently argued for the existence of an unnamed gift giving holiday in a made up universe. A holiday that the author has never mentioned or even alluded to. I will provide details.

Second house. Involves drinking and special extra good. And when everyone is supper tosted, they sing off brand carols and drinking songs and talk about how great they all are.

Third house i imagine a special ceremony were the importortant people at court tithe more gold to the empire. Then the prince gives the people gifts. Then everyone grabbs martinis and shit and brakes off into groups to shit talk everyone elses gifts.

Everyone puts thier boots at the foot of there beds the night before, and in the morning the right shoe is full of candy and the left has a new pair of socks. Everyone comes out of thier homes in there pajamas in the moring and they watch a traditional movie about risemass. But it's like a town center picnic with hot chocolate and propaganda. And they picnic all day with good food and kids running around and everyone in new socks.

In the morning everyone spends time with thier families with a special breakfast and special foods. And in the afternoon they all meet at the court or local government. And every household is given a small gift from the "emporeror" and its something they want or need. These gifts are actually from agustine, who has been running this program for 10000 years and has a loyal order of workers who are swarm to secrecy but they figure out what everyone needs and supplies it.

It's a big meal with drinking and they run debate club, we're everyone summits a topic and two randomly selected people have to go up and debate it for 5 minutes. And the watchers vote on the winner. There is a bracket. And a funny hat if you win...and your name gets written down in a book. It's seriously buisness!

Seventh house has its biggest garden show of the year. And people string trees with light. And get drunk of cider and write increasingly incoherent poetry.

Everyone fasts for 9 days before. They have religious services about thier righteous mission then everyone gets a holy religious metal or text. Its not fun per say....but it is very proper.

Every year, everyone gets together...and they orginize themselves in terms of size. And the reverend mother and father put out the new robes and shoes from the emperor. And the ninth forms a hermit crab shell line, trading clothes until everyone has robes and boots that are whole and warm and fit them. They also get to track how all the children have grown.

so technically, jordan doesn't actually play D&D and tends to just watch the guys play because he gets bored. but he learns the basics over watching a few sessions and eventually plays a short campaign with the guys to make will happy, but they don't make him after that because he's not a quick thinker and tends to get too distracted to be of much help.

raya came to hawkins after being caught kissing the local preacher's daughter, who then accused her of [converting??? i can't think of the word im losing my mind but hopefully you know what i mean ahhhh]. obviously the entire town heard about the scandal and her very catholic dad decided to send her to conversion therapy, forcing raya to run away to hawkins in the hopes that her aunt louise would take her in. luckily she did and proceeded to fight her parents for raya to live with her and managed to talk them into it under the condition that raya was her problem now and that she didn't come back. ever.

5. Who was the first person Ginny met when in search of Eddie?

lucas! she runs into the basketball team and makes an impression, given she thinks there's not nearly enough evidence to prove that eddie did anything and makes it clear that she thinks they're being irrational. lucas manages to sneak away from the team and tells her that if she wants to find eddie before them, she'll need help. then he tells her to find his walkie at his house and get in contact with his friends, who can help. course, they don't realize that the others are already looking for him, but it does end up helping in the end

We’ll Meet Again

The first bit written of a very elaborate urban fantasy mystery story that uh also happens to be a Hetalia x Mercy Thompson/Alpha and Omega (Patricia Briggs) Crossover. Disclaimer: I own nothing. Im playing with toys in a sandbox and if you wish to share in the story thats all g by me. Read on AO3 Old friends in New Places: In which a Wolf finds like folk and Bran finds that Asil is Omega Catnip. Or something like that.

The scent had finally faded and the wolf whined with loss.  He had known it was a long shot. What had he expected following a half remembered scent that he had encountered half a continent away several months ago.  Perhaps expected was the wrong word.  Hoped was better.  He had hoped that the pair he‘d encountered who had smelled equally of wolf and human could help.  And that they would.  But now all was lost. The scent had finally given up the ghost.  Bereft there was only one thing to do.  Complain.  Loudly.

 But before he could let loose his sorrows to the skies, a chorus of howls rang out through the night and then faded away leaving him with trailing echos.  The wolf stood perfectly still.  Had he imagined it?  No.  No he had not, he realized and his tail started wagging in joy as the howls started up again.

Well then.  He didn’t know how far away they were, farther than he could travel in a night by the sounds of it, nor did he know if the other wolves were normal or more like him and those he’d been trying to find. But… it didn’t matter, he rationalized as he plunged through the underbrush.  He’d done sillier and stupider things in the past with much less to go on.

"Bran, have you seen Sam?  One of the kids got into something and it’s left a funny rash."

"When you say kids do you mean the kid kids or one of the new wolves?" Bran asked, looking up from the book he’d been reading. "Actually, why would I have seen Samuel?  He left to go bother Mercy yesterday."

"Uh, human actually.  In a twist of irony, I’m talking about the new vet.  Are you sure that Sam’s not here?”

"Yes.  What’s going on?"

Tad looked incredibly confused. "I could have sworn that I saw Samuel sleeping on Charles and Anna’s porch this morning."

"Why on earth would he do that?  He has a key, but they’re not in town either.  They’re handling the Seattle conference for me.  I thought they had given Samuel a ride.” Bran mused as he closed his eyes and reached out within the pack senses.  The pack was mostly content, some still tired and slightly sore from the run last night, he might have to go easier on the newer wolves next time, faint confusion from the wolf in front of him, sparkles of good natured delight and companionable grumbling from several different folks in town.  He stretched his senses slightly further.  There were Charles and Anna, his muted discontent, pride and joy and her exhilarated fear, excitement, and happiness.  Most likely Charles was trying to do something to impress her, possibly fancy tricks with the plane.  But no Samuel near them.

Instead Samuel seemed to be happy and content, mixed with a little longing, and some mild exasperation very close to a veritable knot of conflicting emotion of uneasiness, respect, mild annoyance and love.  Ah.  He was very familiar with that particular tangle of emotions.  Adam Hauptman.   With Mercy somewhere in the vicinity probably.  None of them anywhere near Aspen Creek.

So what was… a sudden spike of alarm that split turning into terrified concern and mildly angry befuddlement had him falling out of the pack sense and into himself as Sage came tearing down the hall catching herself on Tad at the last second "Bran what the hell is wrong with Samuel?"

"Absolutely nothing as far as I know.  He’s with Mercy”

Sage paled. "Then Who the fuck just ambushed Asil?"

"What?!“ Bran stood, shoving his chair back before striding out the door. Tad and Sage following closely behind, Sage still talking.

"I don’t know!!!  A large white wolf, looks exactly like Samuel, doesn’t smell like anything, tackled Asil into the middle of Main Street and then tore off into the woods."

"The witch?“ Bran murmured, very confused.   But no that wasn’t possible.  Anna had killed her when he, Charles and Asil had been ensnared by her powers.  And then they had burned the body.  And according to Asil she had been the last of her coven, several hundred years ago.  Though that didn’t necessarily mean she had not taught anyone else during that time.  If this was revenge it did make sense that it had taken whoever this was a little while to track the pack down.  He reached into the pack sense again, easily locating the knot of exhaustion and grumpiness that he normally associated with Asil.  That was as present as it ever was but there was none of the resignation or bone deep terror that Bran expected.  Instead, all he got was surprise, a little bit of anger, and even more confusingly peace and playfulness.  So, probably not the witch nor a member of her coven if she had even had one. He let out a breath that he hadnt realized he was holding. Well that was something to be thankful for at least. There was no apparent danger other than the obvious of a strange wolf running around in his territory but that was easily dealt with.  Asil wasn’t too far away, somewhere in the woods behind the house and Bran turned to the two following him.  "Other than bothering Asil, you said the stranger was friendly?"

Tad shrugged while Sage frowned, and Tad spoke.  "Ive not interacted with him at all, just mistook him for Sam at a distance"

“Sage?” Bran asked as he wandered out the back door, barefoot.  He wasn’t in quite as much of a rush, but stopping for shoes was still a hassle he didn’t want to deal with.

She sighed and followed him across the yard. “Friendly enough, I suppose.  He completely ignored me, just ambushed us on the way to the hothouse, bowled over Asil, bowed in play, and then took off towards the woods the minute Asil got up.”

“Well, we’ll find out if this stranger means harm soon enough.  Keep your senses sharp, they’re around here somewhere.” Bran said as they moved through the trees.

In actuality it didn’t take too long to track the pair down.  The sounds of a scuffle and mock growls led the trio to a clearing that was often used as a starting point for the full moon runs.  Which made it a very good spot for an ambush.  A quick couple of hand signs had Sage and Tad drawing back ever so slightly and Bran drew his presence into himself as he snagged a seat on one of the fallen logs near the clearing’s edge.

The first thing he noticed was that it didn’t seem to have worked completely.  The ear twitch and slight pause in movement were pretty clear indicators of that, but the wolf never turned to look at him and instead kept their attention on Asil who kept the game of… keep away, it seemed, going.  The second thing Bran noticed was that Asil was still human.  He wasn’t entirely sure why, it could have been due to a need to keep the game even, a desire to talk, a need to not kill the intruder, anything really but for some reason this was important.  Third, Bran could see why the others had mistaken this wolf for his son.  The stranger, whomever they were, was a huge pure white wolf.  It would be one hell of a coincidence if they had blue eyes as well, although Bran personally thought that if that were the case there was more likely some sort of magic at play.  A heavy thud drew his attention back to the clearing and Bran winced reflexively as the wolf finally knocked Asil down.  Yet instead of going for the throat to end their mock battle the wolf instead scrambled atop Asil, taking advantage of the prone position to wrestle the branch from his hand and flop down, eyes closed and tail awag.

There was a moment of stunned silence that Bran used to get his first good look at the other wolf.   From this close it was obvious that this wasn’t Samuel.  While neither of them had markings of any sort, the strange wolf was somehow a different shade of white than his son.  There was also the concerning fact that this new wolf was on the skinny side for someone their size and their coat was a bit thin for this early in the year.  If he had to guess, the wolf had had a few very harsh winters and was teetering on the edge of starvation.  Still the blindingly white fur wasn’t patchy or matted and they clearly had retained enough sense to self to play. The silence occasionally punctured by heavy breaths was eventually broken by a soft huff of laughter from Asil as he caught his breath. "All right Amigo, you win.”

The wagging of the tail grew more pronounced and Bran got to his feet.

“Nice fight.” He said and the tail stopped moving, and the wolf atop Asil shifted ever so slightly and Bran found himself staring into a pair of bright crimson eyes.  Well.  Not a doppelgänger at all.  An albino wolf.  That was unusual.  Hopefully it was strange enough to make the other easy to identify and figure out why they were here.  Still, the wolf wasn’t backing down and Bran didn’t look away.  He was not going to let some strange wolf play dominance games on his turf.  It was as easy as breathing to bring that part of himself to the forefront and he absently noticed the tension rising in his other wolves but if anything the stranger looked even less impressed than before and to Bran‘s astonishment they yawned in his face before turning to look down at Asil with an expression that could only be described as “Can you believe this nonsense?”

Bran blinked, stupefied, then snorted, carefully scenting the air.  For some reason he was only picking up scents of his own pack and the forest itself.  Still the behavior was enough of a clue "Only you, Asil.” He said ruefully, picking his way through the clearing to stand at the pair‘s side. "Only you"

Asil and the strange wolf traded looks, before Asil voiced what they were clearly both thinking. "And what is that supposed to mean?"

“Through all my years I’ve met a few omegas, but somehow I have only ever met them one at a time. And here you are somehow befriending 3 separate omega werewolves.” He extended his hand to help Asil up as the wolf atop him cocked his head at him.

"He’s an Omega?  Really?" Asil shook his head as he stood and looked down at the other wolf.  "Did you know that?" he asked and the wolf shook his head.

Bran huffed in pretend disappointment.  He shouldn’t have been surprised as he was.   Anna hadn’t known anything either and he doubted the Austrian Omega that he had heard about knew much more.  "Well, we should probably fill you in on that in addition to whatever it is you’re here for.  Speaking of, Asil are you going to introduce us?"

The pair traded another look and Asil shrugged. "If I could, I would.”

Bran looked at Asil and then down at the wolf “You don’t know who this is?”

Asil made a so so gesture with his hand the other going to rest on the Wolf’s head.  "We’ve met, I think?  There was a battlefield?  We fought." He added with certainty.  "And…" He blinked then looked down at the wolf, watching as he spoke very hesitantly  "There was a eagle?"   The wolf perked up at this but Asil shook his head.  “Lo siento, amigo. That’s all.  I know I know you.  Your scent is familiar but it is not quite… I know I know it, yet…” he trailed off then asked  “Were you a wolf when we met?”

There was a considering silence, as the wolf cocked his head very obviously thinking it over and then gave a very human shrug.

Asil looked at Bran “I have no idea what that means.”

“Another thing to figure out, I suppose.” Bran said as he looked down at the wolf. “Well if Asil doesn’t know your name to introduce you, mind introducing yourself?”

The wolf blinked, stepped forward to nose at his hand then very pointedly looked into the forest.

“All right, that’s fair enough I suppose.” Bran said crouching down and offering a hand, gesturing with the other. “I’m Bran, the alpha of the Aspen Creek pack. You obviously know Asil,” Bran smiled as the new wolf cursorily sniffed his hand then turned to face the new arrivals. “And that’s Tad and Sage”

Another perfunctory sniff, barely enough to get a measure of their scents by Bran’s reckoning but that didn’t stop Sage who stepped closer.  “Hi!” She said cheerfully, hand outstretched, and this time the wolf gave her a dubious look but did indeed take a deeper sniff.  “I'm Sage Carhardt, but I think you caught that.  And you’re the second omega werewolf to wander by in the past few years.   Seriously Asil, are you catnip or something for Omegas?  This is a bit silly at this point.” She said with a smile and good natured teasing.

Asil for his part shrugged. “It may have to do with the fact that I treat them as capable people rather than putting them on a different pedestal than anyone else.”

“We don’t do that.“ Sage protested, and Asil raised an eyebrow and the wolf huffed.

"There are few enough Omegas that most do.  Still I don’t know why he came to me, and we won’t unless he decides to tell us himself"

All four people in the clearing turned to look at the wolf next to Asil.

"He does have a point" Bran said, "We can’t help unless you give us something to work with.  Do you mind introducing yourself now?"

The wolf snorted then got up and pulled away from the group slightly, which spoke well for their state of mind.  Shifting was not a painless process and hurt werewolves tended to lash out.

It would possibly also help if they all were not staring at the changing stranger.  Turned slightly, to give the appearance that they were instead watching the forest, as some sort of guard, Bran kept his other senses attuned to the new wolf.  Based on the sound, the shift was going as smoothly as a shift ever went when one’s entire skeletal and musculature were undergoing a radical transformation, when a rising scent caught his attention and by the audio clues things started to go horribly wrong.   Unable to help himself, Bran turned hoping that there would be something he could do to ease whatever was going on only to end up staring in horror.

The wolf had barely reached the midpoint in his shift, hunched over but mostly standing on two legs, shoulders broad, arms too long for his frame with wicked albeit useless claws capping his fingers and drool dripping from a mouth full of fangs looking every part the stereotypical Hollywood monster when Bran found himself growling.  He frowned, unable to stop himself and poked at the feelings.  Frustration, exhaustion, desperation and determination had him on edge along with a growing horror and resigned terror that he was still trapped.  The stranger absolutely was an omega werewolf, projecting as he was, and a fairly old one too, Bran realized.  Anna, while powerful and talented didn’t quite have the control needed to project as clearly as this stranger did.

As Bran and Asil watched, the wolf tried again, straining with all his might against the magic that allowed the shift.   The sound in the clearing stopped suddenly and Bran felt foreign hope that maybe this time he had gotten it when the scent of a new wolfs first moon change abruptly flooded the clearing and the sounds of the shift abruptly resumed and the hulking monstrosity fell back into a more familiar lupine shape.  The woods were silent save the sounds of heavy breathing and a few very hesitant bird calls, just on the edge of his hearing range. Bran blinked and turned to stare at the mystery that had brought himself to his doorstep. The strange wolf met his eyes evenly as he laid there panting, reeking of magic, exhaustion and desperation and Bran was once again sent reeling by the projected emotions. A quick glance at the others showed that he was not the only one. All of his wolves in the clearing were.

“Well.“ Bran said, shaking himself slightly, as if that would dislodge the projected emotions, but more so to bring his own under control. "I see now why you were not too keen on introducing yourself.  Does that happen every time you try to change?"

He was entirely unsurprised to receive a nod in response.  "All right.   Well, come along then." Bran said moving back towards his house.  He kept talking, slightly relishing in the surprise he could feel from behind him.  "Let’s get you fed and we'll see what we can do about getting your… Curse? Taken care of.  I’ll make some calls, but just so I have an idea of where to start, did you happen to piss off any witches recently?"

Please I will need so much of baby Lydia in the wing au. Especially with her parents. Oh, what were their reactions to finding out she has wings and a horn? Did they only figure it out after she was born or did the ultrasound’s actually show the wings and horns.

Also what about repercussions of a human being born with wings and horns? Would people try to take Lydia away for tests, would she still go to public school? Imagine the gaining over/bullying. Man the amount of childhood trauma

since im leaning more to the classic fantasy setting now, i cant really use the ultrasound concept anymore, unless i bullshit up a magic equivalent. but i think i like the idea more of it being a complete suprise when shes born with her little chicken wings and shit just hits the fan right then.

gonna take this as an oppurtunity to explain the whole family scandal thing i mentioned. emily immediately declared that she loves her child no matter what, and charles stood by her on that, but the extended family were not so enthusiastic. her paternal grandparents... tolerate her. they refuse to comment on where they think her infernal blood came from, but it's clear they have Opinions. charles and emily made an agreement when lydia was quite young that she wold never be alone with them, just in case. emily's parents, though, make no effort to disguise their feelings. they immediately declare that charles must be the one with infernal blood, since they already have a grandson who is 'normal', and tell emily to leave him and 'his hellspawn'. emily no longer talks to her parents, and lydia has no memory of them. the closest thing she ever had to contact with them was when she was somewhere in the range of 7-9, when her older cousin, the aforementioned 'normal' grandson, took it upon himself to relay all the horrible things granny and grandad say about her. his parents backed him up when charles and emily confronted them, so they got cut off too. part of charles relocating for a 'fresh start' after emilys death was to take lydia further away from her mothers side of the family, as he'd been hearing through the grapevine that emilys parents were attempting to blame lydia for the death somehow.

to go deeper into charles and emily, though: emily thinks lydia is just wonderful, and is enraged that anyone would think she's inherrently evil. how could you be mad at a baby for having silly-looking scraggly little chicken wings? she never really believed in the inherrent rightousness of deitys, and so she has no ill will towards fallen angels, but even if she did lydia being descended from them says nothing about her. after all, for her to be an infernal child means either emily or charles has infernal blood, and she loves charles and she loves herself so blood cant be all that important, can it?

charles has more or less the same beliefs, but he worries a lot about lydia. hes constantly afraid for her safety, and emilys given what people will think of her for birthing an infernal child. sometimes this manifests in him being a little strict, not wanting lydia to play too rough or fly too much in public, not wanting her to draw attention to herself or make people think any worse of her than they do already. this is only made worse after emily died, with what her family are saying and a new town to make an impression on, but obviously wanting lydia to be on her best behaviour while shes grieving doesnt go over too well.

lydia wouldnt be taken for testing, since while infernal children arent massively common they arent unexplained. there are, however, people who think infernal children should be locked away. luckily, being born to parents of a decent social standing, lydia was more or less safe from that sort of thing. she was homeschooled by tutors, but she still had interactions with other children. some were still innocent enough to just be curious, some had already been taught to hate or fear her. shes had friendly kids bullied into abandoning her, been chased and wrestled just so kids could show off by 'beating the demon', had stones thrown at her. the works.

Which overrated tattoo are you sick of seeing? Before I answer, I want to preface with something very important: anyone can put whatever the fuck they want on their own skin. My opinion, nor anyone else's, matters at all. Just for ME PERSONALLY though, I think sunflowers and dreamcatchers are very overused.

What was the last thing you taught a younger kid? Uhhhh I'm sure it was a niece or nephew (probably Ryder, he is so curious and I love it, he's always asking questions), but I'm not totally positive what exactly it was. I feel like Ryder did in fact ask me what a word meant last, but I've got absolutely zero clue what that word was now.

Do you like watching movies made with CGI or do you prefer hand-drawn ones? Very good CGI impresses me most, I think. Both are perfectly capable of being very appealing, though. I just think it's mega cool when fake animals and such are implemented into mostly live action stuff and it looks like it totally belongs.

Where did your parents buy their car(s)? I have absolutely no idea where Dad got his car, but Mom's current one was actually just given to her by a former dance student when my sister and I were still attending the dance studio. The girl who'd owned it prior hit a deer, and to this day the bumper is fucked up and kept on with zipties, but it runs. It's got real problems and Mom desperately wants a new one, but cars are just insanely fucking expensive. We're lucky enough to have this one; the former owner bought a new car and had the incredible heart to just let Mom have this one for free.

What is your favourite kind of soup? I'm really not a soup person.

What TV show do you just assume you wouldn’t like? 13 Reasons Why is one; I've just heard bad things about how they portray the subject matter, and also as a person who has attempted suicide and spent a great deal of her life suicidal, I KNOW I just wouldn't handle it well.

Which one of your senses would you miss the most if you lost it? Either sight or hearing. Pretty sure sight.

What’s the stupidest fight you’ve ever gotten into? Did you make up with that person or did you end up losing them over it? Oh, I'm sure it was RP bullshit as a kid, most likely with Sara because boy did we know how to butt heads about fucking nothing. I don't miss that shit.

What’s your opinion on prostitution? Should it be legal and regulated, or is it something that needs to be gotten rid of completely? I want to be very clear that this is a topic I KNOW I am not educated enough in; on the surface, so long as you're being safe, emotionally upfront, and respectful, it sounds fine. However, there are absolutely dark shadows in this topic, mostly covering abuse of the prostitute because a bad person seeks out their service. Then there's human trafficking that I'm sure is more easily achieved and stuff because of prostitution... So yeah, I don't know.

Is there a lot of graffiti around your neighbourhood? In my precise neighborhood, there's none, but in my town, it depends on what area you're in. Some places are quite literally painted with it, others aren't AS bad, but you still see it.

Besides English, what other languages can you speak? None fluently, but I'm still pretty decent at German. Not as good as I was in high school, though.

What has been your worst restaurant experience? The time I was still a vegetarian and I went to Burger King cuz they're the only local chain with an affordable veggie burger, and the employee that took the order clearly didn't understand because I shit you the fuck not, I got lettuce and tomato between two buns. That is literally it. My mom went in to correct it and holy shit was the manager pissed, lmao. That experience was fucking hilarious, honestly. It's one of my favorite stories to tell, haha.

Have you ever had a life threatening condition? If so, what was it? I wasn't experiencing life-threatening symptoms, nor had it progressed to a point where my life was even remotely at risk, but when I had an infected cyst, leaving it there could have seriously harmed me, because the infection would spread. The same thing goes for the billion times I've had UTIs. I also have *inactive* MRSA that I apparently contracted after my cyst surgery when the wound tore open; I don't know how the hell to explain this in a way that makes sense, but basically as I am now, I'm totally fine, because it's not an "active" infection, but MRSA is incredibly dangerous if it is actively affecting your body, which to my understanding, mine could "wake up" at any time. I think. Learning this shit made no sense to me lmao.

Would you ever have a UV tattoo? Nah. I don't live a life where you'd like, EVER see it so it'd be pointless and a waste of money.

There's also some body part I don't remember the name of that's behind the tonsils or whatever that is inflamed, and we're thinking she's probably going to have to have them taken out. The poor thing was coughing so aggressively before she was taken that she was literally throwing up and screaming.

Would you want a pet iguana? Most likely, no. I ADORE iguanas and had a baby one named Kaiju for a short period of time; I ended up finding him a better home though because I could not properly provide for him. His tank was too small, I struggled keeping the humidity up, etc. etc., and I just wanted him with someone who could give him everything he needed. But even if I HAD the means to give an iguana all its necessities, I just kinda feel like they need to stay wild. A reptile educator I very much respect and look up to has a very strong opinion on this and has the experience to know and share that iguanas in captivity are simply never as vibrant and healthy-looking as wild ones are, so it's like, unless you're literally rescuing the animal from definite doom, you're decreasing its quality of life by keeping it as a pet. I really doubt I'll ever adopt another one; my go-to big lizard of choice that I eventually DO want is an Argentine black-and-white tegu, instead!

Terastalization works on humans, Ghost type here, very freaky! I kept seeing these shadowy silhouettes walking by, and it was weird being crystalline and see through, also, those hats are completely optional, like, I was uncomfortable with the weight, didnt want it, and the hat just Dissolved in to particles? Also, kept being harassed by the five kids that went down into the Crater and didn't face criminal charges due to the Service Clause that was made when pokemom training became popular for the sake of having a Crime deterent, Florian and Juliana kept asking if I had seen any more Miraidon and Koraidon like the ones they have, more Specifically, the ones Ai Sada and Turo had when they were controlled by the Paradise protection protocol, because they are extremely territorial and Agressive, glad they are at least worried about the team studying the place, Nemona keeps asking me for battles, obsessively at that, Arven was asking about finding any Herba Mystic, which yes we did, but we can't just let these be used by the public with out proper study, observations are promising but we need a proper lab, he looked very nervous when I told him that, think he some how got some and used them, his mebostiff is particularly looking well for its age and scars it has, Penny was honestly the only one I could comfortably be around, she was asking about my sylveon, we even traded some care tips, I also told her some tips for her Jolteon I learned from care for my dads Jolteon. Though, Florian and Juliana seem to know a thing or two on calming P. Paradox pokemon, they must've them when the first went down.

The Paradox pokemon can't have come from a full of time machine, due to multiple reports, even entire community sightings of Dialga and even multiple Celebi arriving at a location and destroying some seemingly random building, which those builds apparently had scientists attempting to preform experiments, primarily on time travel, so we know that Legendary pokemon would not allow something that can disturb the flow of time like a Time Machine exist, the Tera Crystal is a outlier due to not being more like Space travel, jumping from one branch of the tree to the other, rather then traveling down the branch and traveling up the other, something Palkia seems to not take offense too.

The Words of Prof. Sean: Area Zero And Paradox Pokémon.

I've been seeing lots of miscommunication and misinterpretation on Area Zero and the Paradox pokemon, and I wish to fix this. I'll start of the history of the location and work from there for those unfamiliar with the topic.

Area Zero:

The Great Crater of Paldea is a massive Crater with a unique and expansive ecosystem in the center of the Paldea region. Once to believed to store of massive hidden treasure due to the Ancient Kings greed, many expeditions were sent down into the Crater, later to be called Area Zero by Professors who went to study the phenomenon and ecosystem. Many instances of bizarre looking pokemon many believed to not even be pokemon were found inside, but they all shared a few common trait, they resembled known pokemon, they didn't have any findable evolved or pre-evolved forms, some appeared to be more primal looking versions of pokemon, while others looked like robotic, sci-fi escue versions of pokemon to the modern eye. They all seemed to be in some form hostile, not only the the Expedition teams, but the other pokemon that lived in the crater themselves. Also in the Crater were multiple strange relics, and copious pillars of crystals, even trees and other things seemed to have the crystal grow on them from the ground up, these plants seemed to actually be vastly for hardy then others, being able to shrug off swings of axes and even the strongest of pokemon attacks. These crystals would later be the main key to producing Tera Orbs, and the key to preform the Terastalization phenomenon in battles, which helps something preform to its best. There are other examples of this phenomenon's uses I'll get into at a later point. At the very bottom of the Crater is a cavernous biome where the Tera Crystal seems most copious, and a odd species of pokemon seem to come from, a oddly flower and crystal like pokemon with the rock/poison typing, called Glimmora. I would not be surprised if this pokemons origins is interconnected with the Tera Crystal's origins. These Tera Crystal's also seems to randomly grow from the earth all around Paldea, as Tera Raid Dens, with Terastalized pokemon inside, but will randomly generate and degenerate day by day, but the pokemon inside them don't seem to come from Paldea at all, as environmental Census and blood tests reveals none of the pokemon caught from Tera Raid Dens have zero relation to pokemon of their species all around the region, they've also been found to lack any memory before the Raid Dens generation, no ones got a clue what happens to a pokemon in a Raid Den that Degenerates, as both disappear without a trace. There are still many mystery around the Great Crater, but Professors have only been given minimal study time of the Ecosystem at a time by Paldea's Government.

Primal Paradox Pokemon:

Too start, Paradox Pokemon are odd forms of pokemon that seem to randomly appear in Area Zero, other wise known as The Great Crater of Paldea. We've given classifications for the two types, Primal Paradox and Cyber Paradox.

Primal Paradox pokemon are more primal versions of existing pokemon, do not confuse this for me saying they are prehistoric versions of modern pokemon, as they have zero fossil records anywhere in the word, the closest they have are Bones, simple bones dated at the latest, 1,000 years old. The most common trait among Primal Paradox pokemon are predator Yellow eyes, and a unique ability that activates in harsh sunlight, this ability seems to boost their highest stat, the Cyber Paradox pokemon have a similar ability that activates on Electric Terrain, but we'll get to that later. P. Paradox pokemon are very much carnivorous, but, like all pokemon, they can easily sustain themselves of berry's happily, but they tend to be more aggressive. P. Paradox pokemon seem to not adapt to less aggressive and lethal fighting as easily usual pokemon that are caught do, meaning its best to train them easily and help them tone down their aggressive behavior long before battling becomes an option. We've found that Calm and Friendly P. Paradox pokemon are a rarer sight, but are findable, We've also discovered that these Paradox pokemon are immediately targeted by other members of their species, they likely precieve such behavior as weakness and attempt to beat it out of them, or just kill them if they don't learn. P. Paradox seem to naturally live by Might Makes Right Version of Survival of the Fittest, which is why they seems to have a harder time learning to pull in their aggressive behavior when caught. This is a Rare sight in most modern day species. Some seem to exhibit traits professors such as Kalos' Sycamore believe would be associated with Mega evolved forms, a prime example is Roaring Moon, which appear to be Primal Paradox Salamence, and show traits of Mega Salamence. I'll likely go over Mega evolution and its working in the future, but for now I'll explain how these traits seem to present themselves in Paradox pokemon.

Mega Evolution brings out the latent potential and and activate Deactivated and inactive genes in a pokemon, allowing them to reach a higher evolved form of themselves, and when I say evolved, I mean darwinian in nature, Sceptile has been on its way to evolving into Dragon type for the last couple of generations, and is believed to become Dragon type in the future, meaning Mega Sceptile is what regular Sceptile will become far into the future. The life style of P. Paradox pokemon has allowed these pokemon reach that level of evolution. I would like to note that due to living with Paradox pokemon in general has lead to many species in Area Zero to become hostile and aggressive to anything unfamiliar, such as humans.

Now for their Origins, the Tera Crystal seems to have multiple traits and abilitys, such as amplification of ability, but its appears to have something akin to dimensional jumping, not time travel like many people believe. All the paradox pokemon are traveling from the Present of separate time lines.

Its also of note that due to their life style, Paradox pokemon in General have strength on the level of lower tier legendary pokemon.

Cyber Paradox Pokemon:

To start this part off, NO, Cyber Paradox pokemon ARE NOT ROBOTS, they have merely evolved into a state of being mechanical and technical like. I'm make this shorter than the Primal Paradox section due to covering those points already. Cyber Paradox pokemon come from a Timeline where pokemon evolved into more Mechanical like forms, but they still need to breath, eat, drink, and sleep. Many seem to develope advances abilitys comparable to human tools and equipment, Iron Bundle, the Cyber Paradox of Delibird, has a Sphere on its tail that functions as both a weapon, and dimensional storage bag much like Trainer Tech bags company's like Silph Co. Makes for the public. They seem to evolved for maximized efficiency, even developing to smaller sizes compared to our timelines counter parts of them. The least changed of them seems to be Iron Jugilous, who seems to look like to have just taken on a form machine like form of Hydreigon, while the others have become more specially adapted versions of their counterparts. They also react aggressively to foreign life, but will calm down much quicker when they realize that said life is not a danger. And in cases will assist them and protect them from Primal Paradox pokemon. This seems to be the reason why P. Paradox pokemon have not driven the normal population of Area Zero to extinction. Iron Valiant seems to be both Gardevoir, and Mega Galade for some odd reason, likely the original evolution of having two separate specialized forms wasn't efficient enough, and adapted the two forms together, seemingly, Galade's Potential was the most efficient, so there are only minor traits of mega Gardevoir. Genetic tests have shown it can actually shift between genders at will. They also mostly lack the ability to show emotion, they do have emotions, but they lack most facial features to show them, they also come off as standoff ish due to their robotic appearance, which is why many actually believed them to be robots, rather then pokemon.

A fun fact for those Shiny lovers out there, Shiny Cyber Paradox pokemon are pure Chrome in color, like an unpainted prototype.

The only two Paradox pokemon that have regular named Registered in the pokedex are the two Paradox forms of Cyclizar, Koraidon and Miraidon. Though Miraidon does have a standard Paradox name in Iron Serpent.

Tera Phenomenon

The Terastalization Phenomenon affect both biological life and machines, amplifying their abilitys and capabilites. This allowed a pair of higher functioning AI to break free of their programming and have their own desires, these were the robotic copies of Prof. Sada and Turo, who sadly passed away from injures gained from taking the attacks of Agressive Koraidon and Miraidon when they tried to attack a pair of Calm and Friendly Koraidon and Miraidon. These two AI actually wanted to end their templates work, and shut down a machine the two professors believed was a time machine they made, however they were designed to be a self defense protocol for the machine, which was also powered and enhanced with Tera Crystals, they ultimately sent themselves through the machine to the two separate timelines, from what we've learned from the child of Prof. Sada and Turo, Arven is to be believed, it also appears that the AI felt guilt for their templates actions of abandoning their child for a dangerous obsession. It would appear that Koraidon and Miraidon are on the upper scale of lesser legendary pokemon, similarly to the likes of Zekrom and Reshiram.

So ends my lecture, I hope to see you all again soon. And remember, entering Area Zero is a Punishable offense unless given legal permission.

Note for those who may be curious on connected between the Great Crater and the ultimate weapon of Kalos, there is likely a chance the Tera Crystal is the direct shot from the weapon, while mega stones and and like were stray 'shrapnel' while the blast fell from the sky, this theory may be supported by the Reflection cave and its strange mirrors that people have found seem show different places and pokemon in the reflection, and on occasion even open like portals and send something through, which has recently lead to the cave being closed off from the public when what we now believe to be a Thunderous Thearian form came through, but unlike usual Thunderous, this one was more aggressive even by its usual standards, and had markings similar to Primal Paradox pokemon as well as much bright yellow eyes then the normal, plus the in ability to turn into the regular form of Thunderous. We now have theory that the kami trio, or more accurately the Cardinal Quartet, their alternate forms are actually some variation of Paradox forms the pokemon seem to be able to take on, as the mirrors that have been found that are said to allow the four to enter these forms are the same material as the Reflecting caves crystals.
