Sexuality headcanon: This man is as gay as they come. Obviously a big part of his storyline revolves around women, but I've never gotten the vibe that he's into women. The things he says to men ALL the time though...I know what you are...

Gender headcanon: Cis or trans man, either works for me. I've read some really good fics/seen good art of trans Zoro and it makes a lot of sense to me and I enjoy it when I see it, but I'm not really fussed either way.

A ship I have with said character: Zosan forever and always is the OTP for me, and I'm a lot less of a multishipper with Zoro compared to Sanji for some reason lol. I've warmed up a bit on Zolu too but I do still prefer that as more of a platonic soulmate thing, and I know I said I see Zoro as gay but the t4t potential of Zoro/Kiku is quite good too so I'm willing to say he isn't 100% gay because of it.

a BROTP: Him and Chopper are so cute oh my god, the way Zoro acts like a proud/protective older brother to him is really really cute, that's his guy!!! I also LOVE the Zoro and Nami friendship, I think they antagonize each other for fun lmao but I also think they would be really close to each other and have their own special relationship where they can tell each other anything.

A NOTP: Zoro with any woman other than Kiku really, but I know Zoro/Robin is somewhat popular and I don't think I really get it all. I think their relationship/friendship is really interesting especially pre-timeskip where they had to learn to trust each other when Robin first joined the crew, but I think they're just friends who watch each other's backs.

A random headcanon: I'm surprised I don't see this hc more, and maybe it's just me projecting, but this man 100% has ADHD lmao. The way that he gets lost all the time, his hyperfixation on swords and also his dream, his head empty moments throughout the series, how he's somewhat impulsive, and I feel like the meditation/workout routine is how he tries to manage his concentration (also his anxiety).

general thoughts: I absolutely adore Zoro, and he was the one that surprised me the most. I knew about him before starting and thought he would be the "badass and stoic" character that ended up being flat compared to everyone else, and that's just not true. He's SO silly but also has a really good heart and character, that even though he is a loser he is also very cool at the same time. he's more of a simple character but there's still a lot to talk about with him and he's just had consistently strong writing throughout the entire series. I don't talk about him as much as Sanji or maybe even Robin but those three are tied for my fave strawhat.

Kenjaku

Sexuality headcanon: Pansexual or bisexual, I think they've lived a thousand years and things such as gender aren't a factor in who they are attracted to. They truly just go for whoever they catches their interest at any given moment in time.

Gender headcanon: Uhhh all of the above lol. Man, woman, nonbinary, no gender, all the genders, whatever they're feeling and however they are perceived is their gender. I think it's similar to the sexuality, you live a thousand years and gender is a construct they abandoned a long long time ago. No matter what I think they're trans though, and all pronouns.

A ship I have with said character: I think every major ship with Kenjaku works for me, and I struggle to pick a favorite. Gojoken, Tenken, Takaken, Kenjin, Mahito/Kenjaku, even Sukuken I find kinda fun lol. If I had to pick one of these, probably Takaken, but I am big Gojoken and Tenken fan so they're close behind.

A BROTP: So the thing about Kenjaku is that they're a cringefail loser and they don't know how to make friends lmao. Maybe Mahito and Kenjaku? I know I put them in the ship category but I think they fit more here, the silliness and horrors they get up to together were a lot of fun to watch.

A NOTP: Hmm I'm struggling to come up with an answer lol. Uhhh I guess the one Heian era character I don't ship with them is Uraume, but I've never actually seen this ship anywhere. Oh I guess if there's any Kenjaku/Yuuji or Kenjaku/Choso I would not be a fan of that either.

Random headcanon: I feel like in the in between time of executing their thousand year evil plan, they sometimes go out every once in awhile like every 20-30 years to engage with human society again and acts like an old man who's never heard of technology lmao. I also think they would say super off putting things that make no sense to anyone like "Man this dish was so much better 80 years ago :(" and the waiter is just staring at this person who looks like they're early thirties at most.

General thoughts: I think they're the most interesting villain in JJK by far, their relationships spanning over a thousand years are messy and mysterious and span far and wide and the small pieces we get are something to theorize on endlessly. I think they are so effective in that they always are doing or saying something interesting/horrific/fun when on screen, but when they are gone that causes more anxiety for the reader. They're a very cruel and inhumane character, but there is almost a melancholic aspect to them too where they have this big plan, but it doesn't even seem to excite them that much. I'm hoping to do a Culling Games reread maybe in the summer mostly just for them tbh.

Yona

Sexuality headcanon: Bisexual but she doesn't know that askhfkl. Obviously she's attracted to men, that's known from the beginning of the series, but whatever she had with Lili....well...I think they had the potential to be more than gal pals given time....

Gender headcanon: Hmm I guess just cis woman. Haven't thought about any other gender for her, and I think that's honestly what she feels comfortable identifying as. If you got any trans/nb hcs for her though I'm open to it.

a ship I have with said character: Have you heard of Hak/Yona....i think they're neat...cool even....yeah most obvious answer lmao but this is really the only romantic ship I like with her (even if Lili/Yona has potential too and I can convince people on the yuri if no other brave soldiers are willing to).

BROTP: All of the dragons, easily. Hak/Yona might be the ship but those five are connected through fate, through lifetimes. it feels like a disservice to pick one over the other even, they all have such a love for Yona and Yona for them, that's found family right there.

A NOTP: I know some people ship Yona with Soo Won and they have maybe my favorite relationship in the whole series, but I just cannot see it as romantic, especially since both have grown so much. Yona's crush at the beginning of the series to me is more "there's this guy I care about a lot, it must be love" and I do think it was/is love, but that's more of a teenager crush that doesn't actually mean anything. Yona loves him, but in a different way from Hak I think.

Random headcanon: This goes more into theory rather than hc, and it may be dreadfully outdated considering how far behind I am, but I don't think Yona will be the ruler by the end of the series (and definitely not Hak for that matter as well). That said I wouldn't be surprised if that does end up being the case, and it would still make sense especially since Soo Won is sick (as far I know), but I feel like her role as this liberator and almost Robin Hood like figure where she travels around to aid people just makes perfect sense for her and the group as a whole. Undeniably Soo Won has been a really good ruler even if he got spot through, you know, murder lmao. Idk I think I need to reread and catch up to really stand by this, but these were my thoughts through a lot of the series.

General thoughts: Yona of the Dawn is my favorite shoujo and for good reason I think, and a very large part of that is how strong of a protagonist I think that Yona is. You see this really compelling arc over the course of the story of her coming of age that I think is really inspiring, where she very much comes into herself fully but also the relationships she develops with everyone are key to her success as well. One of my favorite characters ever go read Yona of the Dawn everyone (<- directed to me who needs to reread the series more than anyone else in the world)

Okay, here goes for Ace Luffy.

favorite thing about them:

Hmm. His voice actor? He looks good in Wano. Definitely buffed up there and that kimono suits him a whole lot. I love his logic. Big Mom doesn’t recognise him in Udon because she’s got amnesia. Luffy thinks it’s because he’s disguised as a samurai. I think the same kind of joke was made at Dressrosa. His art skills and mimicry skills. 😊

Huge things that seem small, like not letting on to that man who was squashed from living in a box that there was no treasure at the top of the mountain, because basically he had sacrificed his life for an empty dream. Literally. Interesting. Given the basic theme of the manga.

least favorite thing about them:

I think my dislike mainly comes from fics rather than anything that consistently exists in canon. This is just my interpretation, but I don’t like that trampling boundaries often gets portrayed as love, and I don’t like the way many fics have him continually referring to people by name rather than using second person singular ‘you’, or other pronouns. In canon, I’m not sure how I feel when he pulls the ‘captain’ card either, but I think I just need to read more and understand context a bit more deeply on that one.

favorite line:

I can only think of the two he always says (Meat and the one about being the King of the Pirates ;-) ). Another person answered this ask and loved his exchange with Shirahoshi, and I thought the line they singled out was nice. Just let me quote it from them (I’m sure it was important to someone else too. I can see why). @minyaii

one piece chapter 615, when shirahoshi and luffy are only going on a walk; shirahoshi asks him, “is this what you call an adventure?”

I don’t really ship Luff. He’s pretty young in canon, so around his age is preferred by me if he’s with anyone. ZoLu makes the most sense.

I’ll add this from my Kid post: KidLu: I really like the idea of two egotistical bastards competing with each other until the finish line. When they’re roly-poly balls at Udon from eating too much kibi-dango, I love the absurdity.

And from my Usopp character thing...Lusopp is really sweet. I’ve read some good stuff.

I can see SanLu happening, and I’ve read some good LuNami, particularly if both characters are aged up a bit and it’s a modern day AU.

nOTP: I don’t like Law///Lu. I know a lot of folk do, and there are a heap of good stories out there, but it just doesn’t work for me. The age difference doesn’t work for me, and it’s more so just that Luffy’s really young, not so much the number of years. Other than that, even the crack ships can work. It depends on the writer’s skill.

I’m so-so on any ASL ships. If they meet as adults and not related, and not having grown up together as family I don’t mind it. But, y’know, it’s fanfiction, and there’s some well-written stuff out there, and good artwork.

random headcanon:

I don’t have any for Luffy, but I do love a feral Luffy and feral ASL AU, or even tying into canon. I like dark Luffy occasionally  in fanfics or art, but keep him happy in canon.

unpopular opinion: That Luffy’s selfish. But that’s a given and canon, right? And not all the time. He doesn’t have to be a saint.  The story wouldn’t go anywhere without Luffy rushing into any situation.

Oh, also, I don’t really like fight scenes that much, so even though I’m sure Luffy’s are awesome, I’m usually hoping for them to end a whole lot quicker than they usually do. But I do like the humour that’s woven into them.

I don’t have one for Luffy. I liked the song he sang while he raced off through Wano. That was a song, wasn’t it? Feral child and so some kind of slightly askew nursery rhyme or fairy tale would suit him. I was gonna say the darker ones, but I actually just think the silly and soft ones.

Favorite character: BABY BASTARD SAVAGE SUNSHINE BOY LUFFY I LITERALLY CRY OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM EVERYDAY. And more seriously this guy saved my life and taught me to be a better version of myself. I simply adore him. I just really enjoy how he is so simple yet so complex? He is the analogy of Freedom itself and while One Piece has it fair shair of tragic flashbacks the ASL one is by far the one who made me the most depressed.

Least Favorite character: Hmmm hard one....I think the characters i don't like are characters that the writer intended to make the readers dislike anyway soooo I really haven't gotten an answer. Hmm let's say Perospero, Trebol. These guy annoys the shit out of me but again so does OroSHIT for example.

Toki and Oden! I found them kinda mystical, the woman who flee from the past, travelling through ancient times to fall in love with a living legend, truly they have a mystery vibe y'know? Also I am a sucker for the Kozuki Tragedy.

Character I find most attractive: pre time skip Robin can walk on me and I had thank her.

Character I would marry: Lol Luffy may be my husbando but I wouldn't marry him. I think he had rather live free, traveling the world with his friends and tbh so do I :D

Character I would be best friends with: I think me and Robin might have a lot to talk since we share lots of interests! But since I am more of a louder type I might join the Luffy, Ussop and Chopper trio too!

A random thought: Luffy never went to Ace's funeral since he was still in coma. Do what you want with this information.

An unpopular opinion: I can't believe some people still think like this but the next one I hear saying " Girls in One Piece are useless because they don't FiGhT" is gonna have the pleasure to taste my fist.

My canon OTP: Toki and Oden again! Also Kyros and Scarlett are kinda sweet !

Non-canon OTP: hmmmm Oda still didn't make this official I mean so I guess I am obliged to consider NamiVivi non canon right😔 !?

Most badass character: hey, guys never forget that Brook still kept his joy even after 50 years of loneliness and emptiness okay !?

Pairing I am not a fan of: AceLu or SaboLuffy because I literally can't view them as anything else than brothers. Also Luffy×Hancock, Zoro×Robin and Nami×Sanji. I dunno it really doesn't do it for me.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I feel Tashigi's development post-time skip could have been handled way wayyy better. I loved how through what happened in Alabasta she begins to have a more nuanced take on justice compared to what her mentality was back in Loguetown and wished she and Zoro would have continued in that sort of mini rivalry of theirs. It was funny while it lasted.

Also Sanji's creepy perverted side doesn't do it for me and the nosebleed joke ain't even that funny anymore. It doesn't annoy me to the point I would actually deslike him, because my bby cook has been one of my faves since day 1 but really I think that him continuing to be more chivalrous and gentleman instead of chasing ladies would have been more interesting.

Also I think Toki could have had more spotlight in the flashback instead of kinda just being "Oden's wife" but I feel that Oda has something more prepared for her. Maybe at the end of Wano of for the ancient kingdom flashback we'll see.

Favourite friendship: (ASL brothers is a given so-) THE STRAWHATS! They are all so unique and so caring for each other and have built special relationships between all of them AND THEY ARE ALL MY BABIES AND I ADORE THEM TO NO END. I love the trope of "traumatized people meet and become family" so yeah I simply love these dorky criminals.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

Most of them are in One Piece haha. My main ones at the moment are SanLu, ZoLu, and KataLu. In SU I wasn't originally all that into Connverse, I didn't mind it I just wasn't too interested, but it really grew on me in later seasons and in SUF, so I'm quite fond of it now.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

I headcanon that Steven is an animal whisperer, wild animals, domesticated animals, anything. He goes full Disney princess around them. I feel like the scene with the alien animal that got attached to him right away in Why So Blue is convincing evidence for this.

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)

I have thoughts about various fandoms but here are some for my main three:

Steven Universe:

I've always enjoyed how SU isn't afraid to show Steven being less traditionally "masculine" while still being a boy. I like to think that any boys or men who have been afraid to enjoy things that would be considered more "feminine" can watch the series and gain more confidence in that part of themselves.

I also really like that they gave him center focus in SUF and deconstructed the idea of him being the benevolent therapeutic do-no-wrong character that only served to prop up and showcase all the other characters, and they did it without making him a bad person or a villain (and no I don't consider kaiju Steven to be a villain. I don't consider a scared kid having a mental breakdown triggered panic attack to be a villain). I like that they sort of forced the audience to look back on things they used to take for granted about him, like how often he was tossed around and subjected to terrifying experiences. I also especially love the deconstruction of cartoon logic and cartoon physics, and the unflinching open acknowledgement of Steven having ptsd. Like the number of people badmouthing him during SUF by saying he was getting egotistical, or that he was just being edgy and hormonal, shrunk drastically after Growing Pains and it was great to see.

One Piece:

I love how hard Oda goes with the found family trope. Like he does have plenty of good biological parents and he does have some biological siblings who genuinely care about each other, but there are so many arcs that incorporate the themes of "you choose your own family" and I love it. Like during Marineford, we'd just found out that Ace wasn't Luffy's biological brother not that long ago. You'd think a big deal would be made by the narrative regarding Ace's parents, but it's not. Sure it's made a big deal by the government, but in terms of the narrative the main importance is given to him being Luffy's brother. Even when Ace tries to disown him to push him away out of fear of him being hurt, Luffy refuses by literally screaming "I'M YOUR LITTLE BROTHER!!"

My dad was adopted, so I love when shows portray adopted families to be equally as valid as bio families.

Gravity Falls:

I love how... Adult Grunkle Stan's story is? Like, there's a difference between mature topics, and adult topics. Plenty of shows made for kids deal with mature topics, like war and racism and all that stuff, and I think that's a good thing for kids to see and learn about in a controlled manner. But Stan's story was something that mostly adults experience. Not specifically homelessness or crime, younger people can experience that, but that long time estrangement of family, working for decades to do something right and still being viewed as a failure, finding a new side to yourself in a younger generation that believes in you and cares about you without the baggage, and inspires you to change. Old grudges and running from past mistakes, built up on a long history of being told you're not good enough. And I love that his story ends with him being a hero, not because he's some saintly person who believes the world deserves to be saved, but because he's just a man who loves his family and would do anything for them. I love that despite having every reason to believe he'd fail, he still kept working for 30 years to save his brother. He proved everyone wrong about who he is, and showed he was a good man who was capable of great things.

How I entered/learned about the said game/show/movie/etc of that fandom: The funny thing is, I actually first came across the One Piece manga several years ago, in middle school, at my school library. I read the synopsis, and promptly put it down because I thought it was stupid that the main character’s name was “Monkey” (I was young and foolish and didn’t know that that was his last name. Forgive my stupid younger self please XD). Instead, I picked up Dragon Drive and never looked back. But like...some time last year, or the year before that, I was looking for a new series to get into. And something you have to understand is, I have given almost all the popular mangas a try. I dropped Naruto about 50 chaps in, I got like 20 chaps into Fairy Tail, I even got to the soul society arc in Bleach before getting bored. And actually, now that I think back, I’d actually read all the way up until Little Garden several years ago, but for some reason I’d dropped it. I decided to give it another try and, lo and behold, it kept my interest!!! I was literally obsessed. I read all 806 chapters in 2 weeks! While juggling college XD Ngl I’m kinda impressed with myself.

Fave character:

All jokes aside though, I’m literally never going to stop crying over him.

Least fave character:

OTP(s): I prefer more the nakamaship in this series, and don’t really place much importance on the romantic ships, so I don’t really have any otps per se. I do have quite a few casual ships, so here: zolu, vivixkohza, frobin, corazonxbellemere, marcoxace.....NO WAIT I LIED I DO HAVE AN OTP. I just remembered. ShanksxMakino!!!!

Pairing that everyone likes but I don’t get: ZoSan. I mean, okay I understand why it’s so popular - for the same reason 8059 is popular. People just love those kinds of at-each-other’s-necks kind of ships. I personally don’t like it much though.

Fave thing about the fandom: All the whitebeard!asl fics!!! THOSE ARE MY GUILTY PLEASURE. And there will never be enough. I need more!! Thank you so much fandom for introducing this beautiful thing into my life.

The most despised thing: I...don’t actually have anything I dislike about the fandom itself. Can I just say Akainu again? He is a vile human being.
