yoooooooooo I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thought Dickon would be good for Sansa. Lol I feel like her mother sometimes, like I'm always on the lookout for a good man who would make her happy. 😂
Yoooo Anon.. Great minds! Hell had I known Dickon looked like that, I would have gone for Dickon x Sansa kinda thingy like way back when I was reading the books LOL
What would be the ship name though? Dansa? Diansa? Dickansa LOL I have no idea what to call them tbh.
Gosh, I would be so proud of Sansa if she was my daughter. I mean, how could you not, right? She has come so far and I am dead pleased with her character development thus far (still hated S5). But screw that, she IS my daughter and yes I do want her to be happy. Absolutely happy in every regard. And we all know she needs a man who can treat her right and give her what she needs (pssst.. orgasms! and of course lots of babies)
Having said that though, I will always hold a torch for Jon to be THAT man for her but this season has been meh tbh and I’m quite put off with this whole ‘Jon Snow becomes a Sock puppet - D@ny & Dragons shit show’ and I’m so close to being done with it. BUT the hopeless trash Jonsa shipper in me says, keep the faith, hold on to it, JonSa is coming - so I guess I’ll stick around.
But oh my, what a pair Dickon and Sansa would make huh? I mean Sophie and Tom Hopper together side by side - daaammmnnnn that looks fine as hell! And he’s taller LMAO!!
Ship Couple Meter
5 Flames out of 5 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 - I would ship this !

"Of Sansa brushing out Lady's coat and singing to herself. You know nothing Jon Snow" seems straight out of a cheesy romance novel lol. Lets be honest here.
Yeah, that's our Jon, a romantic at heart:
Calling his half sister Sansa “radiant”:
Sansa looked radiant as she walked beside him, but Jon did not like Joffrey's pouty lips or the bored, disdainful way he looked at Winterfell's Great Hall.
—A Game of Thrones - Jon I
Dreaming about his mother:
Not my mother, Jon thought stubbornly. He knew nothing of his mother; Eddard Stark would not talk of her. Yet he dreamed of her at times, so often that he could almost see her face. In his dreams, she was beautiful, and highborn, and her eyes were kind.
—A Game of Thrones - Jon III
Playing the hero:
Every morning they had trained together, since they were big enough to walk; Snow and Stark, spinning and slashing about the wards of Winterfell, shouting and laughing, sometimes crying when there was no one else to see. They were not little boys when they fought, but knights and mighty heroes. "I'm Prince Aemon the Dragonknight,*" Jon would call out, and Robb would shout back, "Well, I'm Florian the Fool." Or Robb would say, "I'm the Young Dragon," and Jon would reply, "I'm Ser Ryam Redwyne.**"
—A Storm of Swords - Jon XII
*Ser Aemon the Dragonknight, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, he crowned Queen Naerys his Queen of Love and Beauty.
**Ser Ryan Redwyne, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, he crowned Queen Alysanne his Queen of Love and Beauty.
Giving courtesies:
"I don't even know your name."
"Gilly, he called me. For the gillyflower."
"That's pretty." He remembered Sansa telling him once that he should say that whenever a lady told him her name. He could not help the girl, but perhaps the courtesy would please her.
—A Clash of Kings - Jon III
Playing the honorable knight:
After that he had taken to using Ghost to keep her away. Old Nan used to tell stories about knights and their ladies who would sleep in a single bed with a blade between them for honor's sake, but he thought this must be the first time where a direwolf took the place of the sword.
—A Storm of Swords - Jon II
Straight out the book of courtly love...
Wooing a girl:
If I could show her Winterfell . . . give her a flower from the glass gardens, feast her in the Great Hall, and show her the stone kings on their thrones. We could bathe in the hot pools, and love beneath the heart tree while the old gods watched over us.
—A Storm of Swords - Jon V
Wishing for a domestic life:
I would need to steal her if I wanted her love, but she might give me children. I might someday hold a son of my own blood in my arms. A son was something Jon Snow had never dared dream of, since he decided to live his life on the Wall. I could name him Robb. Val would want to keep her sister's son, but we could foster him at Winterfell, and Gilly's boy as well. Sam would never need to tell his lie. We'd find a place for Gilly too, and Sam could come visit her once a year or so. Mance's son and Craster's would grow up brothers, as I once did with Robb.
He wanted it, Jon knew then. He wanted it as much as he had ever wanted anything. I have always wanted it, he thought, guiltily. May the gods forgive me.
—A Storm of Swords - Jon XII
Calling his mare “sweet lady”:
The mare whickered softly as Jon Snow tightened the cinch. “Easy, sweet lady,” he said in a soft voice, quieting her with a touch. Wind whispered through the stable, a cold dead breath on his face, but Jon paid it no mind. He strapped his roll to the saddle, his scarred fingers stiff and clumsy. “Ghost,” he called softly, “to me.” And the wolf was there, eyes like embers.
—A Game of Thrones - Jon IX
Being friends with soft boys:
Whatever pride his lord father might have felt at Samwell’s birth vanished as the boy grew up plump, soft, and awkward. Sam loved to listen to music and make his own songs, to wear soft velvets, to play in the castle kitchen beside the cooks, drinking in the rich smells as he snitched lemon cakes and blueberry tarts. His passions were books and kittens and dancing, clumsy as he was.
—A Game of Thrones - Jon IV
Sam remembered the last time he’d sung the song with his mother, to lull baby Dickon to sleep. His father had heard their voices and come barging in, angry. “I will have no more of that,” Lord Randyll told his wife harshly. “You ruined one boy with those soft septon’s songs, do you mean to do the same to this babe?” Then he looked at Sam and said, “Go sing to your sisters, if you must sing. I don’t want you near my son.”
—A Storm of Swords - Samwell III
The boy claimed to be eighteen, older than Jon, but he was green as summer grass for all that. Satin, they called him, even in the wool and mail and boiled leather of the Night’s Watch; the name he’d gotten in the brothel where he’d been born and raised. He was pretty as a girl with his dark eyes, soft skin, and raven’s ringlets.
—A Storm of Swords - Jon VII
“Night gathers, and now my watch begins,” they said, as thousands had said before them. Satin’s voice was sweet as song, Horse’s hoarse and halting, Arron’s a nervous squeak. “It shall not end until my death.”
(…)
He could smell Horse’s unwashed breeches, the sweet scent Satin combed into his beard, the rank sharp smell of fear, the giant’s overpowering musk. He could hear the beating of his own heart. ”
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon VII
Satin was all grace, dancing with three serving girls in turn but never presuming to approach a highborn lady. Jon judged that wise. He did not like the way some of the queen’s knights were looking at the steward, particularly Ser Patrek of King’s Mountain. That one wants to shed a bit of blood, he thought. He is looking for some provocation.
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon X
Imagining his half sister Sansa calling the lands beyond the wall “an enchantment”:
The pale pink light of dawn sparkled on branch and leaf and stone. Every blade of grass was carved from emerald, every drip of water turned to diamond. Flowers and mushrooms alike wore coats of glass. Even the mud puddles had a bright brown sheen. Through the shimmering greenery, the black tents of his brothers were encased in a fine glaze of ice.
So there is magic beyond the Wall after all. He found himself thinking of his sisters, perhaps because he’d dreamed of them last night. Sansa would call this an enchantment, and tears would fill her eyes at the wonder of it, but Arya would run out laughing and shouting, wanting to touch it all.
—A Clash of Kings - Jon III
Giving up his deepest desire and by that, refusing to despoil his half sister Sansa of her rights:
“How can I lose men I do not have? I had hoped to bestow Winterfell on a northman, you may recall. A son of Eddard Stark. He threw my offer in my face.” Stannis Baratheon with a grievance was like a mastiff with a bone; he gnawed it down to splinters.
“By right Winterfell should go to my sister Sansa.”
“Lady Lannister, you mean? Are you so eager to see the Imp perched on your father’s seat? I promise you, that will not happen whilst I live, Lord Snow.”
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon I
Jon said, “Winterfell belongs to my sister Sansa.”
“I have heard all I need to hear of Lady Lannister and her claim.” The king set the cup aside. “You could bring the north to me. Your father’s bannermen would rally to the son of Eddard Stark. Even Lord Too-Fat-to-Sit-a-Horse. White Harbor would give me a ready source of supply and a secure base to which I could retreat at need. It is not too late to amend your folly, Snow. Take a knee and swear that bastard sword to me, and rise as Jon Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North.”
How many times will he make me say it? “My sword is sworn to the Night’s Watch.”
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon IV
And of course, as if he sensed he was going to die, informing us that his fondest memory of his half sister Sansa is the following:
He thought of Robb, with snowflakes melting in his hair. Kill the boy and let the man be born. He thought of Bran, clambering up a tower wall, agile as a monkey. Of Rickon’s breathless laughter. Of Sansa, brushing out Lady’s coat and singing to herself. You know nothing, Jon Snow. He thought of Arya, her hair as tangled as a bird’s nest. I made him a warm cloak from the skins of the six whores who came with him to Winterfell … I want my bride back … I want my bride back … I want my bride back …
—A Dance with Dragons - Jon XIII
He's so fluffy!  I'm gonna die!

i am what i am (i’m not ashamed)
for @vixleonard. Fluffy Jon x Sansa in a Hogwarts AU, particularly inspired by her recent dips into Draco x Hermione.
pt 2/3. pt 1 is here.
[age note: Jon & Robb are a year older than Sansa. They are still first cousins because, well. Comes with the Jon x Sansa territory.]
Sansa excels at Hogwarts.
Not like Robb and Jon do, rambunctious but accomplished Wizarding Club duelers who favor Care of Magical Creatures and Transfiguration over Divination and Arithmancy. No, Sansa favors the library and the lake, where she buries her nose in History of Hogwarts textbooks and her hands in greenhouse dirt for Herbology projects.
Her knack with the cauldron doesn’t go unnoticed by Professor Zabini, who takes her under his wing not only as his Potions protege, but also as Head of Slytherin House looking out for bright young stars in the Wizarding world.
That’s nothing, though, compared to her social influence. By her third year, she’s one of the most popular girls in school. Robb near loses his mind when boys start asking her on dates to Hogsmeade every weekend. It falls to Robb and Theon to keep him occupied at Weasleys or the Shrieking Shack, if just to let Sansa have her own fun for just a few hours a week.
“What d’you think’s gonna happen? Y’think Rosemerta’s gonna give a fifteen year old a key to an upstairs room?” Theon bursts out one day when Robb is listing all of Dickon Tarly’s faults, from priggishness to his bollocks quidditch skills. “It’s nothing more than you ‘nd I’ve done, mate. Buy a cute girl a butterbeer or two, compliment her hair, fiddle with her hands, hope she won’t mind a quick snog behind the Zonko’s displays.”
Robb stares at Theon, agape, without any rejoinder. Jon takes the opening to clap his cousin on the shoulder and chime in, “It’s Hogsmeade, not Knockturn Alley.”
But Sansa’s Slytherin loyalty can’t be understated, either. She wasn’t ever interested in Quidditch until Hogwarts, when the games turned into key social events. She takes to the stands every game, cheering on the Slytherin team in head-to-toe green and silver.
“It’s disgusting, is what it is,” Robb grumbles one day in fifth year, while Gryffindor House took to its brooms to face off against its sworn nemesis.
“Hm?” Jon glances away from game play--Edd and Tormund passing the quaffle swiftly between them, trying their best to shake the Tyrell siblings’ double threat at their heels--and is surprised to see Robb’s omnioculars aimed not skyward, but straight across the pitch. “What are you talking about?”
“Sansa!” his cousin huffs, gesturing wildly at the opposite stands with his free hand. He pulls his omnioculars and passes them to Jon. “Just when I think she’s gone as far Slyth as one can go…”
Jon runs the glasses across the far bank of stands, catches a flash of auburn, traces it back to Sansa. She’s front and center, pink-cheeked in the cold and from screaming encouragement up at her playing housemates. Her hair is plaited with green and silver, she’s waving Slytherin banners, and she’s got a snake crown jammed down over her forehead.
He’s seen all this before, even thought that the color looked nice in her red hair (a thought he promptly shoved into an already-cluttered box of “NO” at the back of his mind). The paint is new, though. A stripe of something shiny on her cheekbones, right under her eyes. Something green shimmers over them. Jon adjusts the omnioculars and sees enchanted snakes twisting back and forth over each other.
Jon doesn’t see the goal, but he hears it. The stands around him groan and jeer. Across the pitch, Sansa’s serious, focused expression breaks into a victorious grin. The new paint sets off the blue of her eyes; he can see how they crinkle at the corners when the Tyrells perform twin barrel rolls and revel in their housemates’ applause.
“Yeah.” He passes the omnioculars back to Robb. “Totally barbaric.”
*****
By her fifth year, her prefectship is a given. Jon and Robb missed out on this particular honor for Gryffindor, something Ned and Cat had grimly accepted and never again mentioned. But when Zabini’s sleek black owl alights on Winterfell Cottage’s windowsill with the notice of her official position, their approval is lukewarm. The green seal next to Zabini’s signature seems to physically repel them.
Luckily, Sansa doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest, and darts upstairs with a gleeful shriek. “Mya is going to scream,” she shouts from the top of the stairs.
Jon’s pretty sure he’s the only one to follow up with her later on. He crosses his arms and leans against her doorjamb, watches her silently for a moment as she finishes out a short missive to a friend.
He waits until she drops her quill in its inkwell and starts to blow on the parchment before he clears his throat. “Congratulations,” he says, when she glances his way. “On making prefect.”
She smiles, openly, and the midday sunlight makes her auburn hair glow like a halo. Something squeezes in his chest.
“Thank you, Jon.” She waves the parchment through the air a few times, then folds it into a triangular note with a few quick strokes. The next glance she shoots him is conspiratorial. Another squeeze. “Make sure to tell Robb that I won’t be lenient if I catch you two skulking around poor Barnabas and his trolls.”
“We’ll make sure to do our skulking when we know you’re in class,” Jon replies, keeping his face straight for as long as possible. He can’t hold back his full grin, though, when Sansa rolls her eyes and turns back to her desk, all cluttered with succulents and half-eaten pastries. “But seriously, Slytherin has to have prefects, and you’re a far better choice than...Merlin, Viserys Targaryen.”
Housemate or not, even Sansa has to pull a face at the mention of Hogwarts’ biggest bully. The look she gives her circle of newly propagated succulent leaves is so withering that he’s surprised they spontaneously combust.
“I can’t believe I have to share a common room with that prick,” she mutters. She rakes her fingers through her hair, shaking a few waves loose to flutter around her face. She’s been spending lots of time in the garden and orchard this summer, and it’s brought out a pretty sprinkling of freckles across her nose and cheeks. “But yes, I’m sure you’re happy to have a semi-sane person wandering the halls.”
Jon snickers. “I’d certainly rather be cornered by you in a corridor after midnight, that’s for sure.”
Whatever reply Sansa was near giving dies on her lips when a door downstairs slams. Ned calls out for Cat, and Cat calls back, and Sansa and Jon are left looking at each other across the space of her bedroom, small smiles tucked into the corners of their mouths.
Jon tears his eyes away to the far corner of the room, where her narrow bed sits primly made under the dormer window, then to the floor in front of him. He scuffs the toe of his shoe and pushes off of the doorjamb.
“Congratulations, again,” he says, and immediately wonders why his voice has gone so low.
“Thanks,” she repeats. Her own voice is warm, quiet. “Don’t make me corner you in a corridor.”

S08E01
Ok so here's where D&D suck. They try to create an "open to interpretation" kind of scenario with most female characters, arya is definitely there but nobody is given a hard time over it more than Daenerys. They never explain or make her explain the why's & how's, because they want daenerys to be the "bad ass dragon queen whose impulse has given the show it's many epic cinematic moments"
GRRM does something quite similar too. He writes characters as faulted as human beings are supposed to be, he likes to conflict a reader's mind in the most tiring way possible. He said afterall he believes Faulkner's words "The only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself".
He makes his character do an action/say some words that more or likely they HAD to. But then he introduces the consequences of the said action/words while at the same time he gives a reason & understanding of why such a hard decision was made/tough words were used. GRRM creates conflict in such a way that it is upto YOU. The Reader, to decide for themselves what they make of the situation. Which ultimately means it's only one's assumption to choose to believe the character was wrong because you choose to ignore the reason behind their action/words. While the one's who support the character chooses to accept the character not only with the reason behind the action/words but also with the consequences of it.
Your "hate" towards daenerys is just YOUR assumption, your villainization of daenerys is just YOUR assumption, your degradation of daenerys's efforts & experiences is just YOUR assumption. Not the actual story definitely not the author's intent.
The scene where daenerys takes the unsullied is the most bad-ass, jaw dropping & inspiring scene centered on a female character ever. When it dropped I remember GA being taken by how "bad-ass" she is. But now I see haters using Astaphor as a "brutality" condoned by daenerys. All because the show never cared to reflect upon a deeper more sympathetic thought process behind doing what she did. While tge book reading haters like I said above choose to ignore her reason & only care about the consequences.
Tv Show: "we never really get this sense .. of her capacity for cruelty. They are surrounded by people who are terrible people but haven't done anything to her personally. It's interesting to me how the sphere of her empathy widens the sphere of her cruelty widens as well."
-Dan Weiss ( X )
Books:
"I was alone for a long time, Jorah. All alone but for my brother. I was such a small scared thing. Viserys should have protected me, but instead he hurt me and scared me worse. He shouldn't have done that. He wasn't just my brother, he was my king. Why do the gods make kings and queens, if not to protect the ones who can't protect themselves?"
"Some kings make themselves. Robert did."
"He was no true king," Dany said scornfully. "He did no justice. Justice . . . that's what kings are for."
– Daenerys III ASOS
The show never showed this side of daenerys's story GRRM is literally giving a reason behind what she is doing at Astaphor while in the future books you get the consequences of those actions, THAT'S HOW YOU CREATE AN INTERNAL CONFLICT IN A READER (&/or) VIEWER.
What D&D do with dany all the time is leave her reasons behind & only show her actions & the consequences. Which over time lead everyone to believe she is descending into some form of madness, that she is an entitled power hungry monarch & that she is actually being a villain! Ignoring the fact that D&D draw inspiration for the show from a book series whose author treats all of his characters in a conflicting manner.
Something like that happened in s08e01. Am not talking about the s@nsa vs daenerys situation. I think it's a call back to Alaric Stark & Queen Alysanne Targaryen's relations. Alaric Stark was known to be cold & hard towards Queen Alysanne at first but eventually softened towards her in time being as he got to know her more. S@nsa stans don't need a reason to hate on daenerys so this storyline was like a gift to them to continue that petty hate.
No matter what their relationship prospers into I have to say s@nsa was being unnecessarily rude towards daenerys. Alaric Stark actually had a reason to be cold towards the Targaryens, his brother died defending the wall against a mutiny caused by some prisoners King Jaehaerys had sent to the wall. But there is nothing that daenerys did to harm the Starks?! S@nsa herself has no reason to hold a grudge towards daenerys or the Targaryens. The northern lords are being a bunch of ignorant fucks still dwelling on the politics of the past that which a "smart" person would overlook given the state of emergency they are in. Instead s@nsa is using that ignorance to incite more segregation in Winterfell. Knowing well that the wall was breached she is treating the dragons as a burden when girl! they are your best defence against the undead one that Night King controls. S@nsa might be smart but right now she is not acting smart!
Regarding the matter of food, I don't think s@nsa understands the level of danger that the oncoming army of the dead possesses against the living. Alaric Stark was judgemental of Queen Alysanne & the party that travelled with her because she wasn't necessarily there to defend Winterfell against anything, she was there on one of the many royal progression's that the king & queen did all over the kingdoms. But daenerys isn't here on some progress she is here to stand her armies beside the North men & Knights of the Vale in the fight. It is S@nsa's duty as the Lady of Winterfell to arrange for the food & other commodities for perhaps the greatest alliance northerners have.
I don't much tread into the doylism aspect of things but the way s@nsa said that she didn't account for the dothraki & the unsullied did she mean she was expecting Jon to die in the south? Because there was only two ways Jon's southern trip would go he might return with allies hence more mouths to feed or he might die. That sure don't sound all that smart of a deduction though!
When daenerys said "whatever they want" she defended her children reminds me of how everyone used to tell the direwolves don't belong inside the castle walls but out in the wild but the stark kids defended them anyways. Daenerys did the same thing too she defended her magical wild beasts who, just like the direwolves are dangerous & different.
Daenerys expecting respect from sansa isn't entitlement, Jon is S@nsa's king & daenerys is Jon's Queen. By that it is a certain decency to give daenerys that respect. In inside the episode video David nutter & Sophie say that s@nsa wants daenerys to know that this is HER home??! I mean daenerys doesn't want her home she wants your respect, she has a home it's called Dragonstone!
“No man has ever died from bending his knee,” her father had once told her.
“He who kneels may rise again, blade in hand. He who will not kneel stays dead, stiff legs and all.”
-the Kings Prize ADWD
I just can't wait until s@nsa softens upto daenerys like Alaric did towards Alysanne. So people can actually focus on other more important things in the storyline.
Then about the reaction Sam had when he learnt about his father & brother's death.. THAT WAS ABSURD. He clearly wasn't that sad when he learned of randyll's death but his brother's death affected him most. Which reminds me of a quote..
He wondered whether Dickon would shed a tear for his brother who died in the snow, somewhere off beyond the edge of the world. Why should he? A coward’s not worth weeping over.
-Samwell I, ASOS.
Do it now. Stop crying and fight, you baby. Fight, craven. It was his father he heard, it was Alliser Thorne, it was his brother Dickon and the boy Rast.
Craven, craven, craven. He giggled hysterically, wondering if they would make a wight of him, a huge fat white wight always tripping over its own dead feet.
Do it, Sam. Was that Jon, now? Jon was dead. You can do it, you can, just do it.
-Samwell I, ASOS.
Sam remembers his brother in the books with the likes of Ser Alliser Thorne & Rast. It is understandable that his heart might be broken to listen of his brothers death but to do what he did especially to the last remaining family of his mentor, Maester Aemon  Who treated him 1000x times better than both his father & brother.. Maester Aemon felt so passionately about Daenerys & he only trusted that information to Sam.
"No one ever looked for a girl," he said. "It was a prince that was promised, not a princess. Rhaegar, I thought... What fools we were, who thought ourselves so wise! The error crept in from the translation. Dragons are neither male nor female, Barth saw the truth of that, but now one and now the other, as changeable as flame. The language misled us all for a thousand years. Daenerys is the one, born amidst salt and smoke. The dragons prove it." Just talking of her seemed to make him stronger. "I must go to her. I must."
-Maester Aemon, Samwell IV, AFFC.
Daenerys is our hope. Tell them that, at the citadel. Make them listen. They must send her a Maester. Daenerys must be counseled, taught, protected."
-Maester Aemon, Samwell IV, AFFC.
Alleras stepped up next to sam. "Aemon would've gone to her if he had the strength. He wanted us to send a Maester to her, to counsel her & protect her & fetch her safely home." "Did he?" Archmaester marwyn shrugged. "Perhaps it's good that he died before he got to oldtown. Elsewise the grey sheep might have had to kill him, and that would have made the poor old dears wring with wrinkled hands." "Kill him?" Sam said, shocked. "Why?" "If I tell you they may kill you too" marwyn smiled a ghastly smile the juice of the sourleaf running red between his teeth.
-Samwell V, AFFC.
It is so awful that Sam has infact put the last two family members of Maester Aemon's blood against each other. He is treating Daenerys the way he treated Alliser Thorne when Sam realised if Ser Alliser becomes the Lord Commander his life would be hell so he literally uses Jon & raises him to be a Lord Commander in the hind sight to protect himself. When Jon actually (in the books) decides to fight for Winterfell & take stannis's offer.
Instead, he blamed Jon Snow and wondered when Jon’s heart had turned to stone. Once he asked Maester Aemon that very question, when Gilly was down at the canal fetching water for them. “When you raised him up to be the lord commander,” the old man answered.
-Maester Aemon, Samwell III, AFFC
“Dragons,” Aemon whispered. “The grief and glory of my House, they were.”
- Maester Aemon, Samwell III, AFFC
Not only was Sam's reaction a little over the top but it was wrong how he channeled it upon Jon as well. He ruined the most important revelation of Jon's life because of, again, himself. Jon also didn't seem to care about the fact that daenerys is related to her (lmao) but was more taken aback by Sam suggesting him treason against daenerys.
I do not want to play the oathbreaker, even for good reason.
- Jon VIII, ACOK.
Jon Snow flexed the fingers of his sword hand, remembering all he’d lost. Sam, you sweet fat fool, you played me a cruel jape when you made me lord commander. A lord commander has no friends.
-Jon X, ADWD.
"I had a frightening dream last night, m'lord," Dolorous Edd confessed. "You were my steward, fetching my food & cleaning up my leaving. I was Lord Commander, with never a moment's peace." Jon did not smile. "Your nightmare, my life."
-Jon VI, ADWD.
Daenerys: "We all enjoy what we're good at" Jon: "I don't!"
-GOT, s07e03.
Jon doesn't want to have power for the sake of power. Over & over again in the books & in the show he made it clear he did what he did to fight the Army of the Dead not for a crown.
Jon: "Do you think we can beat the Army of the Dead without her? I fought them sansa twice, you want to worry about who holds what title I am telling you it doesn't matter. Without her we don't stand a chance.. Do you have any Faith in me at all?
Sansa: you know I do.
Jon: she'll be a good queen, for all of us. She's not her father.
Sansa: no, she's much prettier .... Did you bend the knee to save the North or because you love her?
-GOT s08e01
There are two reasons why anyone would bend the knee.
•Out of fear, fear of cruelty, collapse or death.
•Out of love & respect & trust.
Jon bent the knee to daenerys for the latter, that scene with sansa & Jon was cut off annoyingly leaving the argument hanging but there was more than just love, yes Love is there My god if this isn't what every jonerys stan had been screaming since s07 ended. But there was more than love, there was respect for letting him mine the dragonglass regardless of no existing alliance, there is also trust when daenerys actually not only let him go beyond the wall but also flew all the way there, solidifying the trust he placed in her to come to his aid without an alliance in place.
Jon glanced over his shoulder. The shadow was there, just as she had said, etched in moonlight against the wall. A girl in grey on a dying horse, he thought. Coming here, to you. Arya. He turned back to the Red priestess. Jon could feel her warmth. She has power. The thought came unbidden, seizing him with iron teeth, but this was not a woman he cared to be indebted to, not even for his little sister.
-Jon IV, ADWD.
But instead he chose to be indebted to daenerys by asking for her help without giving her anything in return. Because he trusts her to be a good, reliable Queen & she won his trust.
Sam: "Don't you know?
Jon: know what?
Sam: Daenerys, she executed my father & brother. They were her prisoners.
Jon: ......
Sam: she didn't tell you
Jon: I'm so sorry. We need to end this war.
Sam: would you have done it?
Jon: I have executed men who disobeyed me.
Sam: you've also spared men thousands of Wildlings when they refused to kneel.
Jon: I wasn't a king.
Sam: but you were you've always been. Jon: I gave her my crown Sam. I've bent the knee am not King in the North anymore.
Sam: Am not talking about the king in the north am talking about the king of the bloody seven kingdoms.
.......
your mother was Lyanna Stark your father, your real father was Rhaegar Targaryen. You've never been a Bastard you are Aegon Targaryen true heir to the iron throne.
.............
You're the true king, Aegon Targaryen, sixth of his name, protector of the realm, all of it.
Jon: Daenerys is our Queen.
Sam: she shouldn't be.
Jon: it's treason.
Sam: it's the truth. You gave up your crown to save your people would she do the same?
She literally did the very thing in s07e06 when she left dragonstone with Drogon, Rhaegal & Viserion to rescue Jon.
Tyrion: "You cant win the throne if you're dead. You cant break the wheel if you're dead."
Daenerys: "So what would you have me do?"
Tyrion: Nothing. Sometimes nothing is the hardest thing to do. If you die we're all lost everyone, everything!"
Daenerys: "You told me to do nothing once before & i lostened to you ... am not doing nothing again."
There are moments in the story both in books & show where we do undeniably see daenerys put the people or her children ahead of her crown.
That morning she summoned her captains and commanders to the garden, rather than descending to the audience chamber. "Aegon the Conqueror brought fire and blood to Westeros, but afterward he gave them peace, prosperity, and justice. But all I have brought to Slaver's Bay is death and ruin. I have been more khal than queen, smashing and plundering, then moving on."
"You have brought freedom as well," Missandei pointed out.
"Freedom to starve?" asked Dany sharply. "Freedom to die? Am I a dragon, or a harpy?" Am I mad? Do I have the taint?
"A dragon," Ser Barristan said with certainty. "Meereen is not Westeros, Your Grace."
"But how can I rule seven kingdoms if I cannot rule a single city?" He had no answer to that. Dany turned away from them, to gaze out over the city once again. "My children need time to heal and learn. My dragons need time to grow and test their wings. And I need the same. I will not let this city go the way of Astapor. I will not let the harpy of Yunkai chain up those I've freed all over again." She turned back to look at their faces. "I will not march."
"What will you do then, Khaleesi?" asked Rakharo.
"Stay," she said. "Rule. And be a queen."
– Daenerys VI, ASOS.
Not that she must or she needs to give up her crown for Jon or anyone so Sam can be convinced with her being a good queen. Fuck that! Sam is being impulsive here (something that daenerys is blamed of, turns out everyone does it) she has on multiple occasions put her people first. Sam hopefully learns it in time because his knows I don't want him to be the A-hole he acted like..
If she had been some ordinary woman, she would gladly have spent her whole life touching Daario, tracing his scars and making him tell her how he’d come by every one. I would give up my crown if he asked it of me, Dany thought … but he had not asked it, and never would. Daario might whisper words of love when the two of them were as one, but she knew it was the dragon queen he loved. If I gave up my crown, he would not want me. Besides, kings who lost their crowns oft lost their heads as well, and she could see no reason why it would be any different for a queen.
-Daenerys VII, ADWD.
A queen belongs not to herself but to her people.
– Daenerys V, ADWD.
The red priests believed in two gods, she had heard, but two who were eternally at war. Dany liked that even less. She would not want to be eternally at war.
- Daenerys V, ASOS.
"We will have it all back someday, sweet sister," he would promise her. Sometimes his hands shook when he talked about it. "The jewels and the silks, Dragonstone and King's Landing, the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms, all they have taken from us, we will have it back." Viserys lived for that day. All that Daenerys wanted back was the big house with the red door, the lemon tree outside her window, the childhood she had never known.
- Daenerys I, AGOT.
She did take a dozen flasks of scented oils, the perfumes of her childhood; she had only to close her eyes and sniff them and she could see the big house with the red door once more.
- Daenerys VI, AGOT.
"He died for me." Dany clutched her lion pelt to her chest. Underneath, a sheer white linen tunic covered her to midthigh. She had been dreaming of a house with a red door when Missandei woke her. There had been no time to dress.
- Daenerys I, ADWD.
"Is it Daario? What's happened?" In her dream they had been man and wife, simple folk who lived a simple life in a tall stone house with a red door. In her dream he had been kissing her all over—her mouth, her neck, her breasts.
-Daenerys II, ADWD.
Dany had never known a home. In Braavos, there had been a house with a red door, but that was all.
-Daenerys III, ADWD.
Soon Dany was as clean as she was ever going to be. She pushed herself to her feet, splashing softly. Water ran down her legs and beaded on her breasts. The sun was climbing up the sky, and her people would soon be gathering. She would rather have drifted in the fragrant pool all day, eating iced fruit off silver trays and dreaming of a house with a red door, but a queen belongs to her people, not to herself.
- Daenerys IX, ADWD.
Isn't it amazing how the very episode in which Sam raises the question "will she give up her crown?" is the very episode where daenerys said this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She obviously didn't feel at home neither at Dragonstone nor at Winterfell. This romantic moment is the closest to a house with the red door this show has ever done.
Also notice how throughout the episode whenever Jon is speaking to others he refers to daenerys as Queen. But when he is alone with her by that waterfall he refers to her as "a southern girl". Jon loves the girl daenerys not "the floppy ears" of the dragon queen that she wears..
"So we pray. I want to plant my olive trees and see them fruit." Does it matter that Hizdahr's kisses do not please me? Peace will please me. Am I a queen or just a woman?
- Daenerys VII, ADWD.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the point is neither does it make sense for Jon to turn against daenerys all of a sudden for something like a title that he himself just said doesn't matter to him. Given that the third episode is where the battle for dawn is supposed to take place. Iron throne is not on Jon's mind. Plus I don't think Daenerys will be anything but shocked, confused yet happy to find a family member, none other than the son of her elder brother whom she idolizes, she is in love with Jon as he is with her!
A crown should not sit easy on the head. One of her royal forebears had said that, once. Some Aegon, but which one? Five Aegons had ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. There would have been a sixth, but the Usurper’s dogs had murdered her brother’s son when he was still a babe at the breast. If he had lived, I might have married him.
-Daenerys I, ADWD.
Ser Davos is already planning a better solution to all this. A just woman & an honorable man to probably get married!
Now I need Sam to somehow learn more & more about who daenerys actually is.

Sansa Stark - Show Verses
( these will also be on my @louvereine blog for Sansa as I know some people prefer single muse blogs to multimuses, I understand. )
Season 5 happens as canon. As much as I HATE IT, Sansa arrives at Winterfell under the guise of Alayne Stone with Petyr Baelish. Roose is not murdered by Ramsay, nor is Walda. Instead, Sansa is married to Ramsay and Walda and Roose moves back to the Dredfort, leaving Sansa and Ramsay alone in Winterfell. (With their servants & others.) Her life is as the show follows, I will not go into detail.
Season 6 happens as canon. Everything that happens up to the point where the battle of the bastards erupts is canon. (Rickon doesn't get killed.) The Bolton's are pushed back and imprisoned. Sansa does kill Ramsay with his dogs. Roose is beheaded. (or not.) Jon is named King in The North and Sansa hopes he will listen to the advice she gives him. Margaery is not murdered. Instead escapes to Essos and Queen Daenerys Targaryen, setting up the alliance with the Tyrells and the Targaryen's once more.
Season 7 mostly happens as canon, with the exception of the weird Arya v. Sansa storyline being erased. Sansa has missed Arya from the moment they were separated. Arya comes to Sansa with her mistrusts about Baelish, and Sansa understands but explains why she doesn't just send him away. The Knights of The Vale are controlled by him, therefore if she sent him away, he would take Jon's army with them. She puts emphasis on the fact that it is Jon's army. Not hers. Arya makes Sansa see that the Knights of The Vale are here for her, not Baelish.
Harrold Hardyng and Lord Royce pledge themselves to Sansa when she asks them to do so.
Baelish is brought to trial. (That plays out as in the show.)
The Tarley's do not die. They are taken prisoner and brought North.
Season 8
Willas Tyrell leaves Highgarden and ventures north with Daenerys, Margaery, and Jon
Sansa meets Margaery again, and at first, greets her coldly. Until they come to an understanding, why things played out the way they did.
Sansa does buttheads with Daenerys but over the North's Independence. She explains eloquently, that all she wants is for the North to be safe. They come to terms with their alliance.
Theon returns to Winterfell, asking Sansa if she'll let him fight for their home. She hugs him.
Sansa reunites with Sandor before the long night. He says she's changed, she's not so little anymore. She smiles and says that she hasn't. She was never a little bird, she was always a phoenix and leaves him at that.
Sansa gives Dickon Tarly her favor to wear into battle when he requests it of her. It's a soft moment shared between two people. She spends her last night before the battle with Willas Tyrell, going over what supplies they have, reminding herself that she would have married this man if things had gone to plan.
Within the Crypts, Sansa sings as she once did before to keep the women and the children calm. She makes no snide comments to Tyrion about Daenerys. (It's unlikely that she even really talks to Tyrion about Dany.)
The Aftermath The dead are burned and mourned. (Many people die. We can keep the canon deaths of everyone if you would like, but I WOULD PREFER IF THEON DIDN'T!!! Just saying.)
The Northmen need rest from the battle and Sansa wishes for this and asks for such. Her wish is not granted.
However, the arrival of Howland Reed and his daughter Meera buys them some time. It is after this that Sansa learns the truth of Jon's heritage. She does not tell Tyrion about it! It shakes how she views Jon a little bit.
I have yet to really come up with how I would like the finale to go. I personally enjoy Hello Future Me's take on it and I think that is my way of the finale as well. (Check him out on Youtube. The video is split into two parts but they are worth watching.)
Sansa as QITN Sansa is named Queen in the North. Taking on the responsibilities of her homeland and eventually either marrying into another house or establishing herself as the Wolf Queen. Taking no husband but having children, "fathered by a wolf." (Ship partners can be discussed.)
Here is the deal, I enjoy ships that might be considered controversial for Sansa. I enjoy S.ansa x Willas, S.ansa x Harry, S.ansa x Sandor, S.ansa x Dickon, S.ansa x Jon (from time to time), S.ansa x Margaery, S.ansa x Daenerys, and finally S.ansa x Theon. MY BIGGEST NOTP IS S.ansa x Baelish. (My other ones are S.ansa x Ramsay & S.ansa x Tyrion.) Within the context of the show by season 8, Sansa is 20+ years of age. A legal adult and able to consent. Should these ships appear on this blog, they will be tagged, I would appreciate not getting any hate for them. If you decide to unfollow me for them, please do so. I will not hold it against you for doing so. I am not an automatic shipper, these ships will take time to build.
Thanks for taking the time to read this mumbo-jumbo.

CHAPTER 4: The Secret Wedding
Walking quietly through the halls of Winterfell, the small party stops to ensure the change of guards Sansa and Davos orchestrated is still in place. With Sansa at the front of the group she glides with a sense of purpose as she leads Jon and a few members of their wedding party with ease. Jon would think she wasn’t nervous, if he hadn’t noticed that her hands are trembling anxiously.
Sansa is very happy that her brother has found love and is getting married, but she is well aware that the Northerners will not be thrilled about this secret union. Even worse than Jon having bent the knee, will be the assumption that he was foolishly seduced into doing so.
Sansa has spent the last few months listening to the gripes and grumbles of the Northern lords. They have proven themselves to be very fickle when it comes to the leadership of their King and now even more so with the Dragon Queen present. She is concerned how they will perceive this union, especially as it will have been a secret.
As Jon trudges through the halls he begins to question his insistence in marrying at the Weirwood tree. He would be just as married to his queen had the ceremony taken place in the study by Daenerys’s chambers. They probably would have been married already instead of sneaking through the halls of Winterfell.
Deciding to make the secret walk in two waves, to avoid larger problems that would occur at both Jon and Dany being caught together sneaking through Winterfell and towards the Godswood. It would be too much to explain, so they split their party in two. Jon despised the idea of leaving Daenerys behind but in the end was convinced it was necessary. Walking with Jon is Sansa, Davos, Sam, and Missandei. Jon insisted that Arya stay behind and stay by Dany’s side at all times.
Words were not needed as Jon asked his youngest sister to stay with the queen. Her face expressed that she understood, she would kill anyone that tried to harm his bride.
Tumblr media
Standing in front of the Weirwood tree Jon faces Sam, purposely looking away from the direction in which Daenerys will be coming from. Feeling nervous, he wants to concentrate on his friend for a moment. The dawn is approaching, the sun will be rising soon enough. Jon finally smiles, he hopes that the soft glow of the rising sun will smile upon the exchange of their vows.
Sam is anxiously reviewing his notes, he seems more nervous than the groom is. Jon smiles at his closest friend, happy that Sam will be the one to perform the ceremony. Sam frowns suddenly, he seems to be lost in deep thought.
“Sam, are you ready? You seem distracted,” Jon says quietly, hoping that all will go as planned.
Sam smiles broadly, although seeming a little wistful. “I was just thinking of my father, if he could see now... Performing this union I mean.”
Jon stiffens, remembering that Sam had taken the news of the death of his father and brother exceptionally well. But now Jon is second guessing his choice to request Sam marry them. Maybe Jon had asked too much of his closest friend. It was Daenerys, who made the decision during battle to have Drogon enforce her stance of power, which resulted in Sam’s father and brother being burned alive.
“Sam….” Jon begins.
Realization crosses Sam’s face as his eyes widen. “Oh Jon, you misunderstand. I meant what I said earlier, I bare no ill will towards the queen. It is a war, and she offered them a choice. My father made his decision and my brother, who was also a grown man, then choose to follow our father to his death. After you and I spoke, I actually spoke with Tyrion in great detail about what was said and how it happened.”
Sam shrugs his shoulders, the hurt evident in his features. “It was hard to hear that my father, even until the very last moment, wanted Dickon to choose live. I say that because this is the same man that threatened to have me killed in a hunt had I not given up my birthright as he demanded of me…” Sam’s voice trails off. “Well, it is what it is. If anything, I struggle with the ability to feel forgiveness for my father, even in his death.”
Relieved that Sam is not harboring ill will towards Daenerys, Jon can only nod. Having known Sam for many years, and knowing the man he has become now, Jon can see the maturity the years have brought him. Jon remembers the young man Sam was as he shared the story of what type of man his father had been. His father sounded despicable, even until the very end. Old man Tarly’s loyalty to Cersei would have come to a head with Jon’s mission at one point or another.
“It is hard to make peace, especially when they are gone,” Jon admits softly, his mind straying to his father. Actually, his uncle Ned. Jon has had to put those emotions in the back of his mind as he needed to focus on the living, and the life he desires with his queen.
Jon is still not at peace with the lies that Ned surrounded him with throughout his life. Logically, Jon recognizes the inclination of his uncle to honor Lyanna’s dying wish. But at some point, after Jon had repeatedly asked his father so many times about his own mother, he wishes that his uncle could have at least told him the truth. Even if he had only told Jon, and no one else.
The last time Jon saw Ned Stark was as a young man, leaving his home so that he could join the Night’s Watch. Even then, Ned couldn’t tell Jon the truth about his parentage.
Of course he could have. Ned made the choice not to.
But…
Had I known my true lineage, then I would have known that the Dragon Queen was indeed my aunt from the first moment I saw her. My heart possibly not opening to her the way a man loves a woman.
Instead Daenerys is the woman I will marry, she is meant to be my wife and me her husband.
“Jon, it’s time,” Sansa whispers excitedly and nods her head for Jon to look behind him. Sansa’s words interrupting Jon’s thoughts. Arya is standing beside her, grinning. “Daenerys will be escorted in by Tyrion for the marriage ceremony and everyone else is ready to begin.”
Jon steals a quick glance, all of the people him and Dany wanted to be present are standing and ready to witness their union. Smiling Jon turns to give Sansa and Arya a quick hug each.
“I’m sorry about Bran… I tried,” Sansa begins. “He didn’t look at all surprised this wedding was going to take place. But he insisted that he needed his rest.”
Arya scowls but manages to remain quiet. Not understanding how their younger brother could miss this. How the boy he once was, would be okay with skipping the wedding of Jon to the woman he loves.
“It is okay, I am trying to come to terms with how things work for Bran now. This moment is about my joining together with Daenerys. I am just glad my sisters can be with me right now,” Jon says thankfully. “Having you both here, is really important to me. So thank you.”
Arya and Sansa move to take their place, standing and ready to watch Jon take Daenerys Targaryen as his wife. Jon faces Sam while moving to stand beside his best friend.
It is then that Tyrion and Daenerys appear, walking towards the Weirwood tree, walking towards Jon.
Although Jon has already seen her dress, and he is pleased the stain was indeed barely noticeable, watching his beloved approach sends a thrill throughout Jon’s body. She is here, and she is his. Jon’s heart aches with joy and excitement.
“She is a vision, Jon,” Sam whispers to his friend. “I’m happy for you, brother.”
Jon can’t look away from her, the sun’s gentle glow lighting her beautiful features, the perfect dress and the happiness he sees reflected in her face. She loves him, and everyone can see it.
As Tyrion and Daenerys walk further into the Godswood, her eyes beam with pleasure at seeing her handsome groom. Jon is waiting alongside Sam, while their guests form an aisle.
Sam walks forward. “Who comes before the Old Gods this dawn?”
“Daenerys of House Targaryen comes here to be wed. A woman grown, trueborn and noble. She comes to beg the blessings of the gods. Who comes to claim her?” Tyrion says, his eyes shining brightly at the King of the North.
Jon steps forward, standing directly in front of Dany. Their eyes lock, both unable to turn away. She longs to be in his arms, moving even closer as their faces are now only inches apart. Their bodies leaning into the other.
Tumblr media
(Image credit: Original edit made by Tumblr user @jonerystargaryensfan  I made the image a little darker to reflect the early dawn – check out her awesome work, so many jonerys edits)
Tyrion finally clears his throat, signaling for Jon to speak.
“Jon Snow, King of the North. Who gives her?” he asks quietly, still staring into his bride’s beautiful face.
“Tyrion of House Lannister, and Hand to the queen.” With that Tyrion steps back to stand by Jorah, who is stone faced while his eyes are filled with conflicted emotion.
Tyrion knows that the old bear is love with her, and that he loves her enough to want her to be happy and loved. Tyrion also knows that Jon does love their queen, with his entire heart.
“Queen Daenerys, will you take this man?” Sam asks hopefully, almost as he fears she may say no.
Dany smiles at Jon, her eyes suddenly wet with tears. “I take this man,” she says absolutely.
Sam speaks loudly, “You may now cloak the bride and bring her under your protection.”
Jon quickly takes his cloak from around his neck and places it around Daenerys’s petite shoulders.
The couple share a smile before standing side by side to face Sam, Jon nods that they are ready to continue.
Jon puts his left hand out, Dany places her right hand to rest on top of his. Sam readies the cloth that will go around their hands, binding them.
“In the sight of the seven, I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity. Look upon each other and say the words,” Sam instructs while tying the sash around their hands, tying them together.
Both turning away from their tied-hands to face one another, the couple speaks their vows, simultaneously committing their lives to each other.
Jon: “Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger, I am HERS and SHE is mine, from this day, until the end of my days.”
Daenerys: “Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger, I am HIS and HE is mine, from this day, until the end of my days.”
The small group cheers quietly for the marriage of their King and Queen. Jon leans close to press his lips against his wife’s mouth.
Arya smiles, wiping tears away from her cheek. Her mind wandering to Gendry, they had discussed marriage earlier that day. She loves him, she knows he does. But things have moves so quickly, and she still needs to have that important discussion with Jon. She suspects that Davos may know more than he lets on as well. He has been studying her closely all evening long.
As all gather to congratulate the newly married couple with hugs and handshakes Sansa tries to pull Jon and Daenerys aside while also signaling for everyone’s attention. Tyrion and Sansa exchange a look, both being on the same page.
“Everyone, now that the king and queen have wed, we need to decide on a plan. We should agree what will be said. Let’s regroup to the study, we can…” Sansa gets out before Jon interrupts her by placing his hand on her arm for a moment.
“Sansa is correct, we must plan for our next steps now that the marriage has taken place,” Tyrion interjects strongly.
“Everyone, Daenerys and I have just been married and it is already almost morning. Soon the castle will be up and our faces will be expected to be seen. We would like to have some time to be married before the new day starts,” Jon insists as people chuckle. Daenerys smiles shyly as Jon brings her hand to his lips. “Tomorrow morning, first thing. But for now, I need to be alone with my wife.”
Arya is also anxious to get back to her room where Gendry is waiting for her. “It is very late, I for one am tired and would like to get back to my chambers. Can we please just discuss this tomorrow morning after breakfast?”
Jon smiles at Arya appreciatively, not knowing her ulterior motive for wanting to return to her room. Dany raises her eyebrows at Arya knowingly, causing Arya to blush.
Tyrion, nor Sansa, look pleased but they also know this is one argument they will not win. .
It is settled, the next phase of plotting will wait until after breakfast.
The King and Queen want to make their marriage official.
++o++
Opening the door to Daenerys’s chambers Jon takes a moment to scoop his bride into his arms as she giggles wholeheartedly and wraps her arms around his neck. Kissing his jaw and then down his neck slowly, Dany murmurs sweet words of love. Kicking the door shut with his foot Jon walks with purpose to their bed.
Unable to tear his eyes away from his wife’s beautiful face, Jon whispers, “I love you, I almost can’t believe that you are mine. My precious wife.”
Drowning in his eyes, so full of love, Daenerys opens her mouth to speak but only a small sob escapes. She is completely overcome with emotion, finally married to the man she adores. Jon smiles tenderly before pressing his mouth to hers in a reassuring kiss. He plans to show her with actions how cherished she is.
Standing her gently at the side of the bed Jon holds her face in his palms before kissing her, pressing his lips to her. Daenerys groans as she immediately deepens the kiss.  Her tongue seeking entrance that he gladly gives. Clutching at his clothing desperately, she pulls his body closer to hers.
“I love you. Jon Snow, my beloved husband,” she whimpers before kissing him again. Her body is overcome with desire as she longs to feel his naked body pressed against hers. “Make love to your wife, make me yours in the eyes of the gods and your people.”
Jon groans enthusiastically, knowing that they will consummate their marriage in this room shortly. The blood rushing to his eager cock. His temptation is to take her quickly, to make her cry out his name as he makes love to her.
Jon turns her wife around to face away from him, his strong arms wrapped around her for a moment. Holding her close he kisses her neck, feeling her tremble in his arms. Slowly his hands move across her body, touching and caressing her as he feels her under his fingertips. His hands slowly loosening her gown as the cool air hits her breasts, just a little more until he can slide the dress down her lithe frame to the floor.
Grunting with satisfaction, Jon sees the exquisitely embroidered small clothes that his wife is wearing under her dress this time. Earlier Dany had managed to pull it down while he was distracted. Dany wiggles in his arms in order to turn and face him. A satisfied grin as she sees the dark desire in his eyes. Reaching slowly between them her hand touches his stomach before gliding lower, until she can feel his hardness from over his pants. He is already very aroused, he wants her as badly as she wants him.
They need each other.
With eyes locked, Jon’s throat hitches as his wife pleasures him over his clothing, teasing him slowly. Closing his eyes he welcomes the delight that rolls over his body as he resumes touching her body. His hands are loving and determined to make her feel loved. Cupping her breasts in his palms he enjoys the fine fabric that still lies between them. Rolling her nipples between his fingers before teasing them with a small pinch, Jon relishes in her loud gasp. Feeling her teats pucker Jon leans down to take one in his mouth, in between kisses he lowers Dany’s small clothes off and down her shoulders.
Dany loosens his breaches to push them down his hips while wrapping her hand around his cock. She gives him slow and gentle pumps, enjoying the way he hardens in her hands even more.
“We need to get these off,” Jon says while stripping his bride completely naked. “I need to feel you…all of you.”
“Same for you, dearest husband,” Dany giggles as her hands frantically pull at his remaining clothing. Jon groans as he helps her to rip the remaining articles off his body.
Finally both naked, mutually taking in the sight of the other, their arousal growing as they know the other is anxious to have them.
Jon guides Daenerys to lie on their bed, climbing gently next to her. Kissing slowly, hands continue to roam smoothly over each other’s body.  Jon’s eyes widen as he sees numerous bite marks on her beautiful skin, marks he had made during previous heightened moments of pleasure between them. Tracing the marks tenderly Jon’s eyes meet Dany’s as she realizes what he is doing.
“I need you so much, I lose myself when I am with you. When I am inside of you. Especially for those special moments when you and I become one. I don’t know where I end or you begin,” Jon says hoarsely. The desire to take her quickly is bearing down on him.
Dany moans at his words, her hand slipping to stroke his hard cock. She parts her legs, wantonly, beckoning her husband.
“Dany…” Jon says painfully, she has no idea the lengths of his desire, how much he wants her, needs her even.
“Please, as your wife…I need to feel you close to me. We can go slowly the next time…but for now, I want you to claim me,” Dany begs. “Make me yours. Take me.”
Jon grunts while rolling over to settle between Dany’s legs, moving her knee up so that she is completely open to him. Gripping his cock and running the head of his penis up and down her wet folds, then circling her bundle of nerves causing Dany to gasp loudly.
Holding each other tightly Jon pushes into his wife and grunts as they become one. Laying still for a moment Jon kisses Dany as she wraps her arms around him.
“I love you, I am so happy we are married. No matter what happens, we will have this moment,” Dany whimpers, the feeling of her husband on top of her overwhelming her with feelings of passion and adoration.
Jon groans as he kisses her passionately, his hips slowly working in firm steady thrusts as he begins making love to his wife.
Dany gasps as his cock slides in and out, his hand then sliding between them to gently caress her clit.
“Come for me baby. I want to feel you tighten around me,” he whispers in her ear as she cries out for him. Jon kisses her gaping mouth again as he slowly strums on her bundle of nerves.
Dany groans wildly, her body bucking to move against Jon desperately. Her orgasm is powerful as she cries out his name. Begging him to keep going, “Please don’t stop. Don’t stop! Jon! Jon…yes, my love…yes!”
Jon closes his eyes, her sweet pussy clenching around him as she comes loudly. He holds still while she comes down from her high.
Calming herself, Dany buries her face in his neck…kissing his warm skin softly.
Jon resumes gently making love to her, slowly as she holds him. Dany closes her eyes, her flesh still feeling sensitive as she enjoys the feeling of him making slow love to her.
As Jon nears his climax his thrusts become more frantic, pushing up on his arms as his hips jerk against her. Moving her knee to her shoulder Jon takes her quickly and hard. Dany watches appreciatively as he takes what he needs. Dany’s hands move to hold his amazing butt, urging him to take her hard.
A loud groan as Jon pushes in deep as he finally comes, his seed releasing. His eyes closed tightly as his body shudders against her. Feeling his ass clench, Dany moans with delight as she squeezes him.
Knowing his seed is releasing into her barren body, Dany feels a pang of guilt. Her eyes suddenly glistening with tears, blinking rapidly she desperately tries to push away her guilt and despair. But it was too late, Jon saw the sadness in her eyes.
Tumblr media
Eyes then closed, Dany leans up to kiss him, she doesn’t want to ruin this moment. It being their first time together as husband and wife. Jon kisses her back slowly, lowering his weight on to her cautiously as they hold each other closely. His cock softening and still inside of her.
Leaning his forehead against her before asking, “Dany…did I hurt you? Can you tell me what happened just then?”
“It’s not important my love, just hold me and never let me go,” she whispers, hopeful he will leave it alone.
“I prefer you tell me the truth, what is going on in your mind? You are my wife, you can tell me anything,” he presses, knowing that she is upset about something.
Dany opens her mouth to repeat that nothing is wrong, or to deflect…except the truth comes tumbling out instead.
“It just hurts my heart, that I will never give you a child. I just know you would have been an amazing father,” Dany whispers sadly, her eyes filling with tears. “I would love nothing more than to carry your baby, to make you a father.”
Jon wipes away a tear that fell down her cheek. Kissing her cheek softly after. “I promise you, Daenerys…I am the happiest I have ever been and you are enough.”
Dany feels a drop in her belly, the guilt eating away at her. “You say that now. But maybe if you had married another...when her belly was swelling with your child...I would’ve been nothing but a distant memory!”
Jon sees the genuine hurt in her eyes, she looks so sad. How can he explain to her? He wants her more than any child.
“Dany… You are everything to me,” Jon says firmly. “I would rather have a life with you by my side then a house full of a dozen children. It hurts me that you doubt me.”
Dany finally smiles, because she believes him. Relieved to see her calm demeanor, Jon smiles back before dipping his head to kiss and suck at the soft flesh of her breasts. Dany closes her eyes and enjoys the love he is showering on her. Moments later she can feel him hardening while still inside of her.
Releasing her nipple with a loud slobbery kiss, Jon suddenly pops his head up, a wicked smile on his face. “Besides, I can now be a father to your dragons…if they will let me!”
Daenerys laughs loudly before her mouth falls open in ecstasy as Jon begins moving slowly, soft hard thrusts as he is fully aroused again.
Tumblr media
Jon kisses her passionately while taking her, pushing into her body so he is fully sheathed by her loving body. Before leaning in for another kiss Dany nips at his lip while meeting his thrusts with her eager hips, “As long as you don’t call them beasts again!”
Jon smiles against her lips, making a mental note not to piss off his wife or their dragons again.
At the moment he concentrates on making love to his beautiful wife as she moans and withers against him.
He plans to show her what a beast he can be.

I don’t buy it - Jon isn’t “a northern fool”
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! SPOILERS FOR LEAKED EP 6 AHEAD !!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just don’t buy it. I still believe that Jon is playing Danielle (btw we are using this name so it won’t show up in the search, not as an insult), going “undercover” as he did with the wildlings, to ensure she helps against the white walkers. Want to know why? Keep reading, but I warn you this got ... very, very, very long.
This turned, more or less, into an analysis of the entire Jon x Danielle interaction over season 7 somehow, even though it wasn’t really supposed to be that. Just to be clear about this: If you are a hardcore j0nerys shipper who doesn’t like people having different opinions.... you better stop reading right now. All nasty comments will be deleted without exception. If you see things differently and are open for a civil conversation, well don’t let me stop you. I’m not trying to “hate” on somebody else’s ship here, but as a fan of the series I can analyze and interpret the things happening. J0nery is one of the things happening right now.
They way I see it, there are three key issues to their relationships that can be seen both as motivation for them working and being together, and as distinct sources of conflict. Both internally for each character and in their interpersonal relationship. 1. the personal aspect | their personal feelings for each other, generally and specifically romantic 2. the political aspect | Jon’s duty to stand for an independent North vs Danielle's desire to rule over all Seven Kingdoms 3. the ... “end of the world” aspect | the looming threat that will end them all
At the beginning of ep3 Jon and Danielle were opposed on everyone of those issues: They didn’t know or particularly like each other, they both are relentless about their political decision, Danielle doesn’t believe him about the WW’s and/or is only ready to help under certain conditions.
At the end of ep6 these three issues seem to perfectly align, all conflict seems to be resolved: They are clearly, if not in direct words, admitting their love for each other, Jon has given up his claim on the Northern Crown, Danielle has decided to destroy the night king and his army.
This could be the natural progression of the story. My question is whether this resolution, despite being rushed, was properly portrayed, developed and flashed out over those 3 episodes. Whether the last interaction between Jon and Danielle was earned, whether Douchebag&Dumbass (they earned those nicknames by butchering Arya’s and Jaime’s character, btw) used their limited screen time to build up to this moment. After all, the (supposed) J0nerys romance is clearly meant to be the “emotional climax” of this season.
Now when you look at all their interactions over the season you notice that something is missing. Something very important when developing an intimate personal relationship such as a romance. There is no real human bonding moment for them. Though I supposed that’s not completely true. Danielle does share a few personal issues with Jon, but we never hear Jon talk about anything personal and/or private with her.
This starts in their first interaction when Danielle talks about her hardships, while Jon keeps shut about his and when she later talks about their dead brothers and Jon doesn’t really respond to the topic. This pattern persists when she asks for his advice on the beach, clearly indicating that she came to value and respect his opinion, while he is resisting to give her a clear answer, responding only with a vague statement praising her previous achievements and alluding to her potential. He doesn’t just outright says what he thinks, as he has f  If he was sure about Danielle having a “good heart” and trusts her, wouldn’t he feel free to just speak his mind? But it seems he’s afraid of saying the wrong thing, worried about alienating or offending her. Which makes sense, he is in a very vulnerable position right now, basically her prisoner, and needs her to be on his side. Pissing her off is the last things he would need.
The interesting thing about the cave scene is that while it is shot as the most “romantic” scene for those two characters - the location, the lighting, the dramatic music score, EC’s line reading - they don’t really talk about anything personal in it. Not really. Their shared appreciation of the locations historical significance makes for a bit of a human connection, I guess, Danielle is definitely guilty of some heart-eyes, Jon puts on a more sympathetic face as well, but despite what EC’s voice is trying to tell you: The topic of this conversation is neither personal nor romantic. It ends with their thus far unresolved conflict: To kneel or not to kneel, that is the question.
The dragon petting session was definitely a moving moment for Danielle and finally Jon being a secret targ means ... something. But Jon makes it pretty clear that his targ-blood doesn’t immediately make him regard dragons as cute pets. When his statement about them offends Danielle, he corrects himself and calls them “gorgeous beasts”. Again, she is sharing something personal and important - her connection to her dragons - but Jon doesn’t respond with an equally meaningful story. It’s obvious that he doesn’t approve of her actions - wait until he finds out about the Tarlys - so their one-on-one conversation ends on a conflicted note. I’m pretty sure that Jorah views heartthrob Jon Snow as a potential love rival (what man wouldn’t?), but I don’t think that Jon looks jealous at all. Mostly confused about the weird, old, know slaver that just showed up.
When Bran’s letter arrives, Danielle is trying to strike a more personal tone by telling Jon she’s happy for him, but Jon is going straight back into politics and EotW territory. This would have been a perfect opportunity for Jon to show his “human” side a little bit more. Forgetting about everything else for a minute, sharing ... something, just something about his long lost siblings with the supposed love of his life. But nothing, straight back to White Walker talk. Danielle is obviously worried about Jon going on this stupid ass mission, I have no doubt in my mind that she is head over heels for him at this point. But Jon? He calls her a stranger. He asserts his position as king (Y’all are disappointing Tywin this season) and makes it clear that she can’t force him to stay on this island. Danielle is obviously in too deep to care about it anymore. (It’s a shame Dickon never had a chance to seduce her... ).
Last, but not least their farewell scene  She states that she has grown fond of him, while Jon is keeping the conversation proper and formal. While Danielle is longingly looking after him, Jon doesn’t turn around. This fact is even more emphasized by Jorah’s presence who does take a last long look at the woman he loves, whom he might never see again. Why not have Jon do the same? Why not have Jorah turning around only to see them two exchange a long meaningful look, causing some love-triangle tension? Don’t tell me that Douchebag & Dumbass would be “above” this.
Compare it to Jon meeting Gendry. They talk about their fathers (why Gendry has come to care so much for his sperm donor is anybody’s guess, btw), joke a bit and connect. Jorah and Jon have a similar conversation about their fathers in ep6. We have an interaction like this for most, if not all characters who are forced to or decide to work together. We see this with Tyrion & Jorah, Sansa & Bran, Bronn & Jaime, Tormund & the Hound, Brienne & Arya etc etc. Because in order for us to care about the bond two people share, we need to see that bond being formed. We need characters to tell each other about their feelings, experiences, opinions, families, traumas, etc. for us to get emotionally involved with their relationship. We simply have no interaction between them where they connect as human beings. Especially Jon never brings up any private issues. We never see them actually getting know each other as people. Which is so so odd. If their love story and relationship was this important to the overall story, wouldn’t they want to make sure we get emotionally involved in it?
They could have easily written in Jon telling Danielle about his “father”. This is a difficult topic for them, considering the rebellion and stuff, but he brings up good old Ned to almost every single person he talks to. Jon has some serious daddy-issues and it would make sense for him to defend his father to Danielle. To make her see that he wasn’t the kind of man who sends assassin after newborn children. But not once do we see him go “I can’t speak to Robert and you might not want to hear this, but my father was the most honorable dudebro in all the seven kingdoms, blah blah.” Btw, why did Varys never tell her that Ned quit his job because he didn’t agree with Robert? He could have chimed in, overhearing them “by accident” and tell that story. Them having a conversation about Danielle’s father, the rebellion, this conflict and tension between their houses would have given real depth to their relationship. I would even consider them sorting out these issues a key requirement for them to even have a healthy, mutually loving relationship. Why were they never brought up? Why do we never see Jon talk about anything that matters to him as a person, other than the threat beyond the Wall and his duties as king?
What I’m trying to say is that their personal interactions are biased toward Danielle. She has made obvious heart eyes, talked about personal issues and showed that she gained trust in Jon. I’m not saying that Jon isn’t attracted to her or dislikes her completely. But, at least everyone should be able to admit that up until their goodbye in episode 5  Danielle looks a lot, like a hella lot, more love-struck than Jon. Even if one could argue that Jon has his moments where he shoots her a tender look, the disparity is pretty apparent.
But then in ep6 immediately after Jon wakes up on Danielle’s ship (btw, at least Jon didn’t decide to ditch WF for KL by his own choice. Of course Douchebag&Dumbass had to put him straight on a boat, because as so many people - me included - pointed out: It makes no sense for him to want to go. He should have want to go to WF by all means, home to his family and his people, preparing them for the threat that is getting really fucking close), he basically hands her everything she wants on a silver platter, without any coaxing from Danielle whatsoever.
Don’t you think that’s at least a very drastic, sudden shift in his behaviour? Even if we assume that he has changed his mind about Northern Independence eg he’s willing to kneel in exchange of her help, even if we assume that he has developed serious feelings for her, why would he be the one to bring this up? Why would he be so direct about it all of a sudden? Why not wait until Danielle mentions the whole kneeling issue, hoping that maybe she’s ready to put the political struggle aside now that she’s seen the enemy with her own two eyes - as was Jon’s original plan - but still being ready to give in should she press on about it? I wouldn’t begrudge Jon for doing so, but just giving up the north by his own choosing, proclaiming her “his queen” -ugh- stands in direct contrast to his convictions so far.
What has changed? Seriously, what happened between the end of e5 and the end of ep6 that could have made Jon do a literal 180 on this topic? . Let’s look at the conversations Jon has with his suicide squad companions, shall we?
Jon talks to Tormund in Eastwatch | It’s interesting that Jon doesn’t try to distinguish between Cersei and Danielle in any way. When Tormund asks which queen he has to convince, he simply says “both”. Though I was under the impression that Danielle already believed him - maybe still a bit unaware about the true extent of the issue - and this was first and foremost to get Cersei on board. He could have said “Danielle won’t risk sending her armies north until Cersei is convinced” or something like that. If he was already in love with her and believes her to be “his queen” -ugh- wouldn’t he come to her defense? Wouldn’t he try to put the “blame” for this stupid, stupid, stupid idea firmly on Cersei?
Jon talks to the Brotherhood without Banners in their Cells | The one thing to notice here is that Jon makes it clear that nothing else matters anymore, everyone who still breathes is on the same side. We have to work with people we neither like, nor trust because all of these squabbles don’t matter anymore. The only thing that counts is defeating the Night King.
Jon talks to Jorah | This would have been the perfect opportunity to bring up Danielle. Seriously, when I saw them starting talking I was already shielding myself for some “isn’t she just amazeballs”-comments from Jorah and maybe even Jon. Simply because ... well it’s Jorah’s favourite subject in the whole world and if Jon really was jealous he could have asked some side-eyes question about his relationship with her. Jorah himself could have pulled a Tyrion a la “Kh*leesi is the most wonderful person in this world, you will see that and then call her your queen -ugh- too.” Have Jon say something a la “D*enerys, she is quite an impressive woman.”. He’s talking to someone who knows the woman he supposedly loves very well, why isn’t he prying for some information? But she isn’t a topic of conversation between them at all. Similar to many of the things mentioned above, while this scene doesn’t necessarily refute any potential romantic feelings from Jon’s side, it is clearly a missed opportunity to shift our focus on them.
Jon talks to Tormund | Danielle comes up, but again not in a personal context. Another missed opportunity to mention the emotional aspect of their relationship. Since, you know, this is Tormund. They could have easily written in a comment a la “What does a fucking dragon queen look like?” or something like this. If you need a shameless character who doesn’t care about personal boundaries and just outright asks inappropriate questions, Tormund is your man. Hell, it wouldn’t have been out of character for him to straight out ask whether “Jon’s little pecker got happy with the dragon queen while he was south. Is that why he took so long?” or something alike. But no. He only asks “so you’ve met that dragon queen?” and Jon takes the conversation into the political direction. He brings up that she’ll only help if he bends the knee and Tormund this train of thought by highlighting the Jon/Mance parallels in this situation once again.
Jon talks to Beric | His talk to Beric revolves around the whole Lord-of-light, brought-back-from-the-dead, what-are-we-fighting-for issue. Beric states that they are not fighting for some king or queen, but for life itself. Weird that Jon would proclaim a woman “his queen” -ugh- not 30 min later. Jon rehashes a line from his night’s watch vows: The shield that guards the realms of men. This is a call-back to his conversation with Half-Hand back in season 2(?), who reminded him that “we are the watcher’s on the wall” before he died and told Jon “to do what needs to be done.” Does anyone remember how Jon infiltrating the Wildlings went down?
Looking back at the three big issues surrounding the relationship between Jon and Danielle, only two of them were brought up in their time apart: The impending threat from the dead, how fighting them is all that truly matters and Jon’s dilemma of bending the knee to get Danielle’s help. She is never mentioned as a love-interest. The personal side of this equation is not addressed between him leaving DSt and him being saved by her.
Which is weird, because ... a bunch of dudebros alone in the wilderness, some of them even talk about ladies and sex and dicks (emmy nominated writing, folks), would have been a great opportunity to bring this up. But instead the theme of Jon’s conversations seem to be “proud men and their downfalls”. Something that has been mentioned many, many times over the season.
His conversation with Jorah (like he didn’t talk about Danielle with Jorah -kh*lessi loving- fucking mormont.) also revolves around the topic that honorable men don’t always get what they deserve. Jorah’s father was killed by his own men, Ned was executed. Plus the Mance dilemma is connected to this as well. “Pride” and “honor” are more or less the same thing when you think about it. This plays back into the “Northern fool” narrative the season has been setting up since episode one. We here about three men who found their untimely death because, or despite of, their own kind of honor. Jon has been warned by Sansa not make those same mistakes and Jon himself has admitted to coming to close to doing just that. But more on this later.
All of Jons interactions and seeing how effective the dragons truly are explain why he has made the decision to bend the knee, at least why he’s ready to give in to her demands, not why he would actively give it up. But there were no conversations that would allude to his growing feelings for Danielle. At all. If that was the “emotional climax” of the episode, shouldn’t they put in a few things hinting at it?
I would also like to mention how very odd his behaviour after waking up was. The first thing he said wasn’t “where am I?”, it wasn’t about his uncle who just died to save him (which I would assume would be the first thing that comes to mind). It wasn’t Danielle asking him “How did you get out of there??!! We all thought you were dead.”. Before Danielle could say anything, he tells her how sorry he is about Viserions death. I’m not trying to be insensitive here, I know that her dragons are immensely important to her but to Jon? His uncle was just killed in front of his eyes, shouldn’t that be the thing he is heartbroken about? He didn’t even build any kind of personal connection to Viserion specifically. He should have started this conversation with many other things, but he very deliberately chose to start with that.
If I’m allowed to put this in colloquial terms, he is sucking up to Danielle. Just as he’s been doing in ep4 when she asks for his advice, just as he did in ep5 when he didn’t think “beautiful” was the right word to describe her “children”. This is before Danielle promises to destroy the night king with him, it seems to me that he is doing what he’s been doing for the entire season: Catering to Danielle’s feelings and wishes. Soothing her temper. Not saying the wrong words as not to alienate her. Rather than holding his tongue or beating around the bush, as he has done before, he actively says exactly what she wants to hear. And that’s exactly how that interaction progresses.
Jon establishing physical contact to create an intimate atmosphere, “using” her obvious crush on him, going a bit further by inventing a fun nickname for her, him calling her “my queen” -uuughhhh-, giving up the North and saying that what the Northern Lords want doesn’t matter because they’ll change their mind once they see how amazeballs she is. This entire conversation revolves around her, Jon only talks about things that are supposed to make her feel good. Again, there is no mention to how Jon survived. Jon apologizes for going on the dumb wight hunt ... when it wasn’t even really his idea?! Tyrion came up with the plan of catching a dead and bringing it to cersei. Why is he taking all the blame for this bullshit plot?
Danielle isn’t taking at least some part of the blame herself “if only I had believed you, all of this wouldn’t have happened. Viserion would still be alive”. The next comment might be fueled by a bit of salt and left-over range from yesterday, so don’t take it too seriously, but “you have to see it to believe it.” sounded almost like an excuse. “Don’t apologize, it’s good this happened, this isn’t your fault. But it isn’t mine either, because how could I know?” This would be consistent with her characterisation so far. She is not willing to admit any mistakes, not even to herself. If I look back, I’m lost. But Jon doesn’t point any fingers either, not even in the most subtle way “we had to do it to convince you and cersei”... which is odd. As said above take this last paragraph with a grain of salt, because it was written with an ounce of salt.
Why would he just call her “D*ny” all of the sudden? He hasn’t called her anything but “Your Grace” until now. This comes out of nowhere. It’s pretty easy to create a narrative leading up to this moment, btw. Why not have Danielle offer to address each other on a first-name-basis? Do it on the beach when they say their farewells, Jon calls her “Your Grace” and she answers with “Daenerys is alright.” Jon only nods and turns away. At first Jon declines because of the whole (potential) political, I-can’t-love-you-because-THA-NORTH, so-I-have-to-stay-formal thingy, but after she saves his ass he calls her D*enerys for the first time. She smiles, obviously moved by this and he jokingly says “or maybe D*ny?” and the show can take it from there. Sounds a lot more romantic and a lot less random, right? It would take two lines of dialogue to make this seem a lot more natural and a lot less suspicious and ooc.
Side-note: After Danielle leaves the room and Jon opens his eyes (did he only pretend to sleep?) he looks exhausted, exasperated. Not like a man who just shared a very intimate moment with the woman he loves. It just doesn’t add up. Why is Danielle lovingly looking at his sleeping face not the last shot?
Altogether, their “romantic relationship” is still as one-sided as it was before, only now Jon is actively pushing for it to be that way. All in all his behaviour is way over the top. It sounds like a man who’s simply trying to woo a woman for one reason or another. If they had taken it down just a nudge I would have believed it. If they had shown some restraint to either the romantic tones or the kneeling issue, I would have taken it as Jon’s genuine feelings. But this way? It’s too much, too sudden, without having a proper build up to it. It’s just not how “Jon” would act.
This is mostly what if comes down to: the romantic hints over the season were really, really on the nose - dramatic, emotional scores and line reading that do not match the tone of conversation (cave scene), or third characters spilling it out for the audience (davos), or moving deep into soap opera territory (boat scene) - but just as superficial. All these hints are thrown into our faces without properly being set up or developed. There were countless possibilities to give it some real depth and as little trust as I have in Dickheads&Douchebags writing abilities I don’t understand why they wouldn’t use them. As much as I disagree with a lot of their choices I can contemplate why they are doing stupid. The whole stupid arya vs sansa subplot is there to create some tension and drama in WF. I get it. It’s stupid as hell but I at least understand where the stupid is coming from. I know what they are trying to achieve with that stupid. But this? Half-assing the big love story of the show? The only explanation that makes some sense to me is that Jonnearrris is a red herring.
A really well executed one, btw. Make sure the audience can’t miss it, but also prevent them from forming a real emotional connection to it. After all it is supposed to distract from the real storyline (I’m going to assume jonsa & targbowl) not compete against it. You want the audience to be shocked, but not hate you for ruining the most amazing, emotionally involving love story you’ve ever seen.
This leads me to my final conclusion: There are only two options here.
a) Dickhead & Dipshit missed out several obvious opportunities to flash out Jon’s feelings, because ... just because, and fucked up to effectively use their limited screen time to develop the grand love story of GoT. The cave scene, for all it’s romantic lighting, background music and line reading, concludes on the very political issue of northern independence. Dragon petting could have been used for Jon to make a personal statement (I have a direwolf I love and miss very much - as does the audience, btw - I wouldn’t call him “my child” but I got the connection you have going on with those lizards), instead Jon isn’t to keen of the fire breathing lizards and their conversation ends with him not being to sure what to think about her victory on the field of fire. Their goodbye scene could have been used to have them throw a last longing glance at each other, instead Danielle looks on while Jon has his back turned and doesn’t look back. Jon’s conversation with Jorah could have been used to cause and highlight some tension between them since they are “in love” with the same woman, instead it revolves around honorable, upright men and their deaths. His conversation with Tormund could have been used for some light-hearted guy-talk, as is Tormunds speciality, but instead it’s about the lives Mance could have saved if he had let go of his pride (and honor) and knelt. Again, there isn’t much in the season that would outright refute any romantic feelings from Jon’s side, he at least seems attracted to her and perhaps a bit intrigued (she is beautiful and a very fascinating woman if nothing else), but I can see missed opportunities to have Jon’s feelings mentioned or emphasized left and right. So many that it’s hard to believe Dumbass & Douchebag aren’t aware of it. If the entire season was building up to this “revelation” in ep6 and the following boatbang in ep7 wouldn’t they have used everything they got to actually build up to it? If this truly is where the show is headed, they did a very very lousy job. And don’t tell me that all the things I mentioned above would be “too cheesy” because the last Danielle / Jon scene in ep6 was fucking cheesy as hell. Btw, maybe my Jonsa-shipping-goggles make me a bit “immune” to all this, but if that’s the case, jonnearis-shipping-goggles make people overly perceptive to it as well. This accusation goes both ways.
Which leads me to the second option:
b) They didn’t mention the personal aspects of this plot point because they don’t really matter. Because things are not as they seem. They emphasize the political and “end of the world” issues in Jon’s story line and his relationship to danielle because those are the things influencing his behaviour, most importantly the drastic shift in his behaviour between leaving DSt and reuniting with Danielle on the boat on their way to the stupid stupid dragon pit meeting: He is giving up on his political agenda and uses all means possible to make sure Danielle helps them. He has learned from his predecessors mistakes (Mance not kneeling - and dying, Ned being to trustworthy - and dying, Robb falling in love with a foreign woman - losing his people - and dying) and is now using that knowledge for his advantage. There are only three possible payoffs to the “Northern fool” narrative: 1. Jon is making the same mistakes as the men he’s compared to and will suffer similar consequences (unlikely, since he is aware of that and has already broken with his mance-persona), 2. he does the same mistakes without it backlashing because Danielle is just so amazing (very unsatisfying storytelling) 3. he learned from it and doesn’t make the same mistakes. He goes along with everything she wants, tries to win her over by all means possible because what he said is true “D*enerys is their last hope”. Not only in this specific event of stupidly getting trapped by the Army of the Dead in the middle of a frozen lake because ~someone~ thought it was a great idea to go on a fucking idiotic wight hunt, without horses, adequate manpower or any real plan, but also in the grander scheme of things. If Danielle doesn’t help them (what if she refuses to go back north after one of her dragons was killed there?) they are fucked. That’s why Jon went to DSt in the first place, later admitting that is was a stupid idea, that’s why he went beyond the wall to catch a fucking wight, even though that was a really bad idea. All his actions this season were motivated by defeating the threat to the north. All of them (except for choking Littlefinger, *cough*). Even reuniting with Bran and Arya had to take a backseat to this issue. Is it really that far-fetched that his ooc-behaviour at the end of ep6 is the same? If you consider all the things mentioned above? He can’t risk her bailing on him, so he does everything he can to cater to her feelings and desires voluntarily and up-front, to make sure she fights the WW’s, to make sure she doesn’t have any excuse to leave them high and dry.
I would also like to mention that this theory doesn’t even need to implement any possible dark!dany or targbowl or just general endgame speculations. Except for one paragraph, this is solely based on what happened on screen this season. This isn’t about me being a salty shipper either. It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of any j0nerys romance really, but the big pay off in e6 was simply unearned. Either Dickhead & Dipshit fucked up writing a romance or they are presenting us with a wonderfully crafted red herring. Being the optimist I am, I’ll believe in the second until proven wrong.
I teased to write a “little something” about this issue, but it turned into a “fucking big something” instead. Thanks for sticking with me until the end!

Shipping Sansa to end up with someone ugly isn't a punishment and it's not misogynistic. Being ugly isn't a crime, it's more ugly that you think it is.
Yeah so at first I didn’t answer this because I didn’t want to because you are being kind of a douche canoe. But then I found it cleaning out my ask and I’m in a ~giving mood~ so let’s do this shall we?
Jesus fucking Christ on a bike THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID!!!
What I said was “It is gross and misogynistic to say that Sansa MUST end up with someone ugly so she can prove she learned her lesson.” I can actually distinctly remember the post I was referencing. It was basically saying “Sansa can’t end up with X character/you can’t ship Sansa with X character because he’s too handsome and Sansa got abused by a handsome prince so she could learn that beauty is only skin deep.”
Abuse does not happen to teach lessons. Abuse is abuse, full stop. You know who says abuse is meant to teach lessons? Abusers. I also have a problem with people saying that shipping Sansa with attractive male characters (most recently Dickon and Gendry) is somehow unacceptable because it’s “misunderstanding her character arc.” There are plenty of unattractive characters who have also treated Sansa terribly and abused her, just like attractive characters have. Being traditionally attractive and being abusive are not mutually exclusive here, neither are being unattractive and acting selflessly or being kind. That would be a HUGE oversimplification, and not really even a correction one.
There is obviously a huge Beauty and the Beast theme in Sansa’s arc, I am aware of that. I’m not blind. But saying that Sansa’s abuse would narratively “mean nothing” and had no effect on her if she develops feelings for someone traditionally good looking, or that it “means nothing” to people who ship her with someone attractive, is a really weird mentality to me. And yes, I find it gross.
And also, it’s just shipping. It doesn’t have to be that deep. It can be, but it doesn’t have to be... Sometimes it’s just about wanting to read fic about two pretty people making out.

So the show may have bid farewell to Dickon Tarly but I surely shall not. He was a precious cinnamon roll, too precious for this world, too pure, and cannot easily be forgotten.
Like I said previously, Sansa x Dickon will be my Ghost Ship that will haunt me. Please send fics my way. If they are being written then I want to read them! Maybe I’lll write something as well.
Some thoughts on the whole execution scene below.
On the note of Dickon’s demise, I feel like all sorts of things went wrong with that scene and will go wrong between characters (though this would be intentional).
Daenerys made Randyll Tarly’s point for him about her “outsider status.” Yes, she was technically born in Westeros but she’s never lived there. Her only insight to Westerosi life and culture was from Jorah whom she dismissed. She has Tyrion now bu it doesn’t seem like he’s covering that with her. She makes Tarly’s point by demanding that a highborn lord swear fealty to her when all she’s done is win one battle with her barbarian horde. He doesn’t owe anything to her; she’s not his queen (her name doesn’t automatically make her a queen, though Dany has apparently forgotten) and it’s still far from certain that she’ll claim the throne. He was honor-bound to refuse her, especially given his (likely) regret over betraying House Tyrell; flipping allegiance twice in such a short span of time would be more than his personal honor could take. Had Dany understood Westerosi ideals of honor, she would not have demanded his fealty at that point. She would have taken the Tarlys prisoner, asked them to bend the knee after she claimed the throne, and it is highly likely they would have complied. Instead she’s wiped out another great house.
Speaking of taking prisoners, Daenerys has refused to do so. That’s an awfully barbaric way of waging war. She excuses herself by saying she lacks the abiity to do so. That’s a terrible excuse. She should have expected to do so and planned accordingly. She cannot burn anyone and everyone who disagrees with her. High lords like the Tarlys are valuable political prisoners and further, Dany needs continuity of stewardship for after the war. Stability is helped by smallfolk knowing their lords and vice-versa. Giving these castles and lands to brand new families is asking for squabbling and strife as new lords figure out how to run their territories. Further, history is important to the Westerosi; old families like the Starks are held in the highest regard because of how far back they can trace their lineage. Daenerys doesn’t seem to be aware of any of this.
Next, in that scene nobody mentions that Tarly served Daenerys’ father and actually defeated Robert (the Usurper) in battle, the only one to do so. Daenerys loves to be angry about what “the Usurper” did to her family, but then she burns one of her father’s loyal lords who fought for her father against him? She should have known before she left which families were most loyal to the Targaryens and thus might be likely to support her claim. She might have been able to persuade Tarly to her side thusly. She scarcely even tried. Once more she failed to plan ahead. Also, huge failure on Tyrion’s part as well.
Finally, I feel like the execution of the Tarlys will serve as a test of Jon Snow’s tolerance and Sam’s newly solidified spine. I have a difficult time believing that, if Jon finds out, he’ll be OK with her justification for their deaths, not to mention they are the family of his best friend. Speaking of Sam, how will he react if/when he finds out? Will he lash out at Jon or Dany or both? I feel like there is the potential for a rift over her actions.

immediate thoughts on eastwatch
- for the first time ever, Arya is... bothering me. I understand she’s a product of her experiences, but you’d think she’d then be more understanding of Sansa? Instead, she seems to have reverted to all she knows - violence - and doesn’t seem to be interested in learning more, which worries me, as - as Sansa rightly says - Winterfell wasn’t taken by brute force, it was taken by Jon’s army and Sansa’s diplomacy. So Arya getting into Sansa’s head is pissing me off, imo, because it seems the tables have turned in that Arya thinks she’s better because she’s a killer; whereas Sansa doesn’t want to have to play games with her family - also, if Arya actually thinks Littlefinger is working for Sansa, she’s just being wilfully stupid - I’m sensing there’s going to be problems whenever Jon returns. Arya’s going to be in for a shock when Sansa and Jon are on the same page, and I think she may leave Winterfell - GENDRY THO (especially now that he’s working with Jon! Arya won’t be just m’lady anymore!) - here for that Baratheon/Stark bastard bonding shit (even if Jon isn’t a bastard) - The Tarlys. Sad about Dickon because in a past life he was an Arthurian knight, but I’m bummed that Sam doesn’t know - SO, DANY ISN’T THE TRUEBORN TARGARYEN HEIR THEN, ffs Sam LISTEN - Yep, they’re definitely pushing the Dany x Jon. Jorah being there too though makes it uncomfortable. Shoutout to Tyrion’s “oh shit” look when he realises Dany’s caught the feels as Jon begins to sail away - If they’re pushing Dany x Jon (which, by the way, I could see, even if the fact that we know they’re related is still odd to me... and yes, I know, I like Jonsa, but they’re aware of their relationship and tbh I don’t see it happening now), Sansa x Tyrion seems more likely (as does Arya x Gendry. Or Gendry staying in Winterfell keeps Arya there, we’ll see...) - Cersei’s an asshole - Jaime’s an asshole for falling for her being a manipulative asshole - Tyrion just wants love and affection and someone should give it to him - Varys + Tyrion 5eva
overall, a slow episode, but a lot of clues for the next season/eps to come! this is just an immediate reaction, so I may form something more coherent next week :)

Game of Thrones: An Angry Recap
Season 7 Episode 4: The Spoils of War
Winterfell:
Littlefinger once again portrays he's the smartest man in Westeros(TM) by GIVING BRAN THE DAGGER SENT TO CUT HIS THROAT????? Clearly he wants Bran to remember all the fun he had while lying in a coma while his mother fought off the man sent to kill him. Ah, good times. “Remember how your mom tried to find out who that dagger belonged to, and that started the war, and then your dad was killed, and then the Boltons took Winterfell and burned it to the ground so you had to flee, and then your mom and brother were killed, and then Jojen was killed, and then Hodor and Summer were killed, and then Rickon and Shaggydog were killed? Well, if these things hadn't happened you wouldn't be this creepy kid saying creepy stuff to his surviving family members today, so if you really think about it, isn't it a good thing all of that happened? As I recently read on pinterest, Happiness isn't a Destination; it's a Journey. I'm so wisdomly.”
But Bran has been on pinterest, too, and he has seen the Baelish memes. “Chaaaaaaosss is ah laddah!” he replies, and Littlefinger is not amused. “This is what happens when you don't stick to the accent you had in season 1! I knew I never should have tried to improve upon my creepiness,” he grumbles and leaves to carve “Petyr luvs Sansa,” into the privy door.
Enter Meera, who has come to say a tearful goodbye and remind Bran of all the sacrifices his companions have made for him along the way. But Bran has grander things on his mind and doesn't really appreciate being reminded of mundane things like his friends and pet dying for him. Seriously, Meera, you're so annoying. With your feelings. Ugh.
And then it's YET ANOTHER STARK REUNION! D&D really are wasting no time getting all of these kids back together again. After a recycled “The guards won't let Arya in because she doesn't look like Arya” scene (how original, that never happened before! *cough* King's Landing *cough*), Arya manages to sneak into the crypts. WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH ALL THE STARKS HANGING OUT IN THE CRYPTS THIS SEASON???
Sansa finds her there, and the two sisters catch up on their girl talk and how they both wanted to kill King Joffrey. Arya talks about her kill list, and... does Sansa think she's kidding, or why is she laughing awkwardly?
Bran wastes no time creeping Arya out, too. “I know everything about everyone, including your kill list. Want a Valyrian steel dagger?” he asks his sister, who happily accepts. So this is why Arya had Littlefinger's dagger in the Entertainment Weekly pictures? BORING!!!!
Arya immediately puts the dagger to good use during a practice lesson with Brienne, where we learn that Arya and Brienne are about equally well matched.... Sure. That makes perfect sense. Next week on the Briarya Challenge: Who bakes the better pie?
Meanwhile, Sansa and Petyr... talk??? What?!?!?!? I thought Sansa was super annoyed by his presence and wanted him to go away? Or at the very least, I thought Sansa was very wary of him??? But now she... shares her experiences with him??? What?!?!?!?! I never understand these two. I want season 4 back.
King's Landing:
Queen Cersei has promised swift repayment to the Iron Bank, and Tycho Nestoris is pleased. But why stop business relations there? Tycho promises support for all of Cersei's new ventures, as long as the Lannister soldiers proudly display the Iron Bank's logo during the next battle. No, but wouldn't that be awesome?
Dragonstone:
Jon does all he can to convince Dany of the threat in the North. After he's lured her into a cave (and we all know what Jon Snow is capable of in caves) he gives Dany her very first dragon glass boner, and then lures her even deeper to show her some very convenient pictures on the wall... “So this is what happened to Princess Shireen's finger paint!” Missandei thinks to herself.
“These carvings are super old, and not new at all,” Jon assures Dany. “That's why the paint looks so new! It was, uhm, extra durable super paint. I totally did not just paint these to convince you. That white stain on my shirt? Oh, that's... from when I was at the wall. We, uh, renovated, because the IKEA Mole's Town had a super sale.”
Dany is convinced and promises her help... if Jon bends the knee. But let's face it, it wouldn't be the first time Jon bends the knee to a woman in a cave, amirite? Should I stop with the jokes?
But the (supposed) joy does not last long, because Tyrion and Varys have come to share the sad news: They took Casterly Rock, but lost the Reach. “That does it!” concludes Dany. “Enough with the clever plans, at least half the viewers don't really get them, anyway. I will jump on my dragon now and give the viewers the battle they've been craving for.”
Jon begs to differ. “The viewers are fed up with those stereotypical Good vs. Evil/Big Battle/The Good Ones Win-Fantasy stories, your grace. They watch us because we are different! We are smart, our characters are morally ambiguous, and not all of our battles are won on the battlefield. Some of them are won with quill and parchment. The season finale is still three episodes away. It would be anticlimactic to have a big battle now. Wait three more episodes, and talk to Tyrion in the meantime. He might say a few more funny things that look good on a T-Shirt.”
Davos, in the meantime, ships Jon x Dany, and... I think he tries to flirt with Missandei? Later Theon returns, and he and Jon have an awkward reunion.
The Reach:
Sadly, Dany did not listen to Jon. Jaime and the rest of the Lannister soldiers are escorting their booty back to King's Landing and have just paused for some smalltalk with the squarest man I have ever seen, Dickon Tarly. Because D&D have class and dignity and their Emmy was well deserved (hint: HEAVY SARCASM), we are treated to a dick joke, when...
IT'S DOTHRAKI SURFING ON HORSES. Yes. Dothraki surfing on horses. Just when I thought this show could not get more ridiculous we get Dothraki. Surfing. On. Horses. Seven save me. Did D&D watch one too many westerns???
For a reason I cannot fathom, Jaime & friends took Qyburn's dragon-killing crossbow thingy WITH THEM, because... #alwaysprepared??? And Bronn, heroically, SHOOTS DROGON!!! YAAAY— Wait, what? No! I don't know! Drogon just torched a lot of (relatively) innocent people, but... that's what dragons do, right? Besides, Dany made him do it, so it's not his fault! All in all, I think my love of animals wins out here. Poor Drogon. I hope you don't die. But I also hope this experience has changed you, and you won't kill anyone ever again. #worldpeace

B, D (any fic), I, K, R, S, T, U, Z :)
B: Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
None. I live a very boring life.
D: Is there a song or a playlist to associate with [insert fic]?
I think every chapter of Thieves has its own song, because I usually remember listening to that one or two songs over and over again right until I publish. Part 1 was “Thieves” by She & Him (hence the title) and Xavier Cugat’s “Jungle Drums,” because I was going through my Wong Kar-Wai phase when I started writing. I definitely had John Taverner’s “Funeral Canticle” on while I was writing Part 2. I can’t remember what I had for Part 3, but when I wrote Part 4 I nearly went insane because I had a remix cover of Drake’s “Passionfruit” on repeat the entire time.
I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
I live for dark, possessive heroes. I’ll gobble up anything that’s got one; I’d write one too, if only the ideas would come (*hint hint*)!
K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?
I think it may be a tie between “Thieves Among Us” and “Winning means losing, so let’s go until the end.” Neither of these are done, but once the ball’s been dropped...hoo boy.
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
Regarding fanfic, I think my biggest influence has to be Margot Le Faye, who writes the most memorable Dramione stories I’ve ever come across. I have no doubt that the angst in many of my fics are a product of SoftNoodle’s stuff, despite the fact that I read those when I was, what, 13? It’s stuck with me this long, even if my opinion of those stories has changed with age.
S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
PINING. UNREQUITED LOVE. RUNAWAY HEROINES (IS THAT EVEN A TROPE??? WAHTEVA). GIVE ME ALL THREE AND I MIGHT JUST COMBUST.
T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?
I said no in another post, but I just remembered that I’m not a fan of using an evil female character (or any female character) to start drama in a romance or prop up the female heroine. If there’s going to be a she-devil in your story, y’all better have a GOOD explanation behind that, and not just because it’s for the male protag. No man ain’t worth that trouble. This doesn’t mean I don’t dig love triangles, though; it just has to be done nicely.
U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven't tried yet.
I’d loved to write a Theon x Sansa fic one day. It started with “Thieves Among Us,” but I definitely want to write something that’s only centered around them. Also, Dickon x Sansa is turning into my new jam? I wouldn’t mind writing for that pairing, either.
Z: Major character death--do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can't tolerate?
Honestly, I can’t remember reading a fic where there was any major character death, but I don’t think it’s because I shy away from it--maybe I’m just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Thank you @aionuel for these questions!

Dickon, you absolute twit, why’d you have to get yourself killed like that, you poor big dumb puppy? (ngl though, the part of me that’s still mad at Billy after season 4 enjoyed it a little)
Fuck you Randyl, served you right. It was a bit sad when he touched Dickon’s arm, but fuck you, you’re still a terrible dad. And stupid. Seriously you decided to die for Cersei, why? It wasn’t out of loyalty, as Tyrion pointed out. So... just to be racist... apparently? What fucking morons. Sam obviously got his brains from his mother.
I love how the Citadel got the news so quickly when last season they didn’t even know that Jeor Mormont had died.
Dany, I hope that decision doesn’t come back to bite you in the ass. Maybe now Jorah’s back she’ll stop doing dumb things. Please god let her stop doing dumb things.
GENDRY. GENDRY GENDRY GENDRY!!!! thought you might still be rowing, oh my god, I died. Ridiculous fanservice, yes, but it was still hilarious.
I’m not sure if I entirely accept that it makes sense that’s he’s been in King’s Landing all this time, but meh.
Gendry, don’t you fucking DARE get yourself killed beyond the Wall before you see Arya again.
lol, I’m not sure weaponry skills are hereditary, but ok. Also not sure why he cares about his douchey dad...
Not sure I accept that Bronn dragged Jaime’s armour-clad ass all the way to the other side of the lake, but ok. Even if it was a river and they were washed downstream, it’s still a little hard to believe. But whatever, better than them being dead.
Excuse you Jaime, maybe show a bit of gratitude for Bronn saving your dumb ass?
Ugh. Just as it looks like maybe Jaime’s starting to grow a brain about Cersei, she’s pregnant? *groans for ten years*
Also, if Cersei fucking does anything to Bronn, I will be so fucking mad. Also, how did Tyrion even get him a message? Varys’ little birds are compromised by Qyburn... but maybe he doesn’t know that? I’d have thought he’d have figured it out by now though.
I’m mad Bronn and Tyrion didn’t have a proper reunion scene.
How the actual fucking fuckballs has Bran been ‘north of the wall for years’ and then like two scenes later baby Sam is still a fucking baby?!?! Like, I can forgive Jon zipping to and from Dragonstone at the speed of light, we can’t have him spend the whole season traveling, but why the fuck would they even bother to include baby Sam when all it does is call attention to the screwy timeline?
The only possible reason I can imagine they bothered to recast Dickon just to kill him so quickly is if Sam’s going to inherit Horn Hill? Not that he should be able to with his vows and everything, but maybe if the White Walkers breach or destroy the Wall there won’t be enough Night’s Watch left to care if he leaves?
Not sure what to make of Rhaegar and Elia’s annulment. How do you annul two kids? I would have thought it would either be divorce or polygamy. I guess it was just so they could get the point across without saying Lyanna’s name, which Sam probably would have recognized, or at least took some notice of the name Stark. But still, just seems kinda stupid when they could have just gone with the polygamy thing. Seriously, how the fuck do you annul two kids? And without the permission of the King?
Jon patting Drogon was sweet and cool and also a bit weird. Why did he do that? Unless he was meant to be feeling some kind of compulsion to do it because of Targ blood, but I don’t think that really came across in his expression. It seemed more like just ‘lol why not pat a dragon?’ The way Drogon sniffed him was slightly hilarious. Like “...are you...” *dramatic sniff, dramatic blink* “yes you are!”
If that note was what I think it was, Arya and Sansa had better not have too big a fight over this. Having a confrontation and then sorting out their issues - great. Playing right into Littlefinger’s hands by having a huge rift come between them - terrible. They had better not do that TV thing where characters inexplicably refuse to explain their actions clearly and let the other party believe the worst possible version of events to draw conflict out longer. I fucking hate that so much.
Sidenote, I’m so fucking sick of Sansa’s ugly ass black dresses. Dress? With a weird little leather corset thing? Why?
If Jon and Arya don’t reunite this season I’m suing. Why couldn’t Jon look more happy about Arya being alive? Grr. They had better not fuck up that reunion and they’d better mention Needle.
I’m not sure what to make of the look on Dany’s face when she saw Jorah, and hugged him. It seemed really romantic, not sure it was supposed to be? I kinda ship Jorah x Dany, and think if any Dany pairing is going to happen in the show, it would make the most sense, but I also think it’d be weird to deviate that far from the books now.
If Jon and Dany are going to get together/get married, they haven’t done the best job setting it up. Didn’t Emilia and Kit used to date? lol, why the fuck can’t they manage to conjure up some better chemistry? Next to the Dany x Jorah reunion, it looked really noticeable that they don’t give a fuck about each other. lmao, Jon and Gendry had better chemistry in one scene! On the other hand though, if they were all over each other with sappy love at first sight bullshit it would ruin both their characters. It needs to be a bit more in the middle if that’s where they’re going with them.

Season 7 Episode 5 - Don’t Worry, We Have a Plan
This will be the last time I mention how fast things are going (I think I have said that in every episode this season), but I have to say that watching an episode a month makes the events seem like not that fast. It’s like four episodes in one, right?
Tumblr media
The Dead are still walking. They are not in a hurry. What does the Night King know of the lands south of the Wall? Can he see visions? He may have or may have not lived during the Long Night when the Dead walked in the South last. The White Walkers have some communicating systems, shrieking if nothing else, so even if these guys are relatively new they may have some lore of whats in the South.
What do they want? The Children created them to kill, so that may be the only thing they desire in their… life. If they get what they want, they’ll march to Dorne and kill everything between the Wall and the Broken Arm. And then… stop? While the people of Essos look at their neighbor and ask what just happened there. Then they’ll wait for the spring before going to see if there are any survivors/resources left. If the spring comes. Maybe the Winter lasts so long that the Narrow Sea freezes over…
That didn’t happen during any of the previous Winters. Maybe some old stories have a hero defeating the Long Night and driving the dead away, but those are just Old Nan’s stories. Maybe the dead were defeated somehow. Maybe they just had to leave because spring came, and the people of Westeros managed to raise the Wall to keep them out.
Now the Wall and its spells are the only thing keeping the dead away. I have a bad feeling about Jon’s mission at the end of the episode, but I’ll talk about that later. For now, I’m still wondering how much the Night King knows about the situation in the South, and how well he could understand anything, being more a personification of the winter and all that. He could have arrived to the Eastwatch already, but he hasn’t. Does he know that the people don’t believe he exists, and if he shows up in full force to the Wall (without yet having a way through) he would soon have every army in the world to face him? This way he can wait for the enemy to make mistakes.
And let’s not forget that everything that has happened during these last years has played directly into his hands. On the Rose Road just south of King’s Landing the fields have been turned into a graveyard, as Daenerys has announced her homecoming.
Jaime wasn’t rescued by Dickon as I had thought, but by the more or less loyal Bronn. So they survive and escape. Good, Jaime has been a prisoner for one lifetime.
But Dickon and Randyll Tarly are taken as captives and brought to Daenerys. She promises to take in everyone who bends the knee before her. The dragon is there to show that there’s another answer for those who want that one.
...The 21st century me tries to think of ways to get more of them into her forces alive, to minimize the loss of human life. Maybe if she had started the battle by burning everything except the people, and then giving her demands? But then the archers may not have been distracted by the Dothraki on the open field and might have hit her? War is bad for you, that’s the lesson here.
Last time I grieved that this battle had no named character killed, so it couldn’t be “the battle where X died”, as every other larger skirmish is. But Randyll wants to make me happier, and tries to be a man of principle. “You are not my queen, the woman who murdered everyone on her way to the throne and to whom I betrayed my lady is.” I growl at him. You can’t just decide when your principles apply and when they don’t. But if you want to die for them now, be my guest.
Then Dickon wants into that hot dying senselessly action too. Daenerys is all too happy to oblige them both. As long as she is their queen, treason shall not go unpunished and so on. By killing these two lords she gets the rest to bend the knee. I don’t know how well historically enlisting the people from the armies you just fought went, but a dragon seems to work as a major part of the rule of fear.
Which is entirely against what the people following her say. Tyrion, Jorah, Varys, Missandei, they all say they follow her because they love her. Tough love.
The tables have turned again. Daenerys lost her allies, but has now wiped out the main Lannister/Tarly army and showed the people of Westeros what a context-switch dragons are.
Speaking of dragons, I have mixed feelings of the dragon designs. Mainly about their texture, which has a lot of small horns and big scales everywhere. It’s almost like spiky hair… and it’s mostly in their neck area, oh dear. I can’t unsee it now. The other problem I have is that their shrieks are too shrieky.. They almost resemble the screams of the White Walkers, but are more nasal, which is not an improvement. Otherwise they are great, between four legs and two legs I choose two legs every time, and they have a sense of weight with them.
Maester Wolkan must have felt a great relief when he went from serving the Boltons to serving the Starks. Then Bran arrived, and things are freaky once more. But at least the Starks don’t feed people to the dogs. Well, not after that one time.
The Grand Maesters have a meeting. In the mail section they have Wolkan’s message of the army of the dead. They pay it no more heed than any other time, and, well, “a crippled boy has come from Beyond the Wall, where he met Children of the Forest and saw an army of the dead coming to kill everybody” sounds a lot of like two-headed chickens being born in a village a long way away. Especially as a raven’s leg doesn’t have room for the entire story.
Sam points out that he has seen the Dead too, and helped Bran “years ago”. Nice, a confirmation of time passing. But the maesters can’t muster the entire South without further evidence, so they ask for more. What if Bran sent one of the warged ravens in the Citadel to knock the maester’s heads?
Sam doesn’t want to wait while the maesters gather info, so he leaves. He has already helped by giving Jon knowledge of the dragonglass, so where will he go now? March up the King’s Road being a prophet of doom, reading those few tomes he took with him? He won’t get far before hearing about his father and brother, and what then? He has an easy way out of taking the lordship, just say “I said vows”, but… as a lord, he could take the Tarly army (or what’s left of it) and march North.
There are many reunions once more, and just as fast people leave again. Jorah can barely say “Hello” to Daenerys before leaving once more for a suicide mission. Gendry shows up still alive, but plans to rectify that. Jon skips visiting Winterfell entirely, they don’t have time for that. Because it’s time for a plan that may or may not ruin everything.
Take a single dead from the army, and bring it to King’s Landing. Okay, I hope that the time between the scenes is spent on more planning, because this has a lot of question marks. If the dead can’t pass the Wall without being brought by humans, is it possible that they break the spells by bringing one over? How can they get just one, when they currently seem to march in one large mass? If they get one, does it survive the journey (the arm Thorne brought didn’t). If it gets loose, can it infect others? The problem is the magic that nobody knows the rules for. This is why they should have consulted Bran before going. Maybe they have. Maybe Edd debriefed him and sent notes to Eastwatch.
The Children created the White Walkers in desperation and were destroyed by their own creation. Will the humans do the same?
Tyrion gets to speak with Jaime again, and their discussion goes without Jaime immediately hitting him. Thank you, Olenna. He actually listens, and gets Cersei to listen too (of course Cersei has already decided to allow for an armistice).
Cersei informs him that she is pregnant. Okay, I predict that the baby will be born sometime in the next season, just so that the Daenerys will have to make a decision: Allow the last heir of the royal house to live, like Varys allowed her to live, or go all Tywin. Should be interesting.
Best line of the episode goes to Davos. “Yes, nobody mind me, all I’ve ever done is live to a ripe old age.” He has also survived almost six seasons of this show, which is a much bigger accomplishment. Jon also quotes Mance Rayder, the original “Hey, what if we worked, you know,  together?” guy.
Oh, Littlefinger. He wastes no time in getting Arya to grow suspicious of Sansa. He may not see Arya when she spies upon him because of the nobody-training, but he knows that she will, because she knows that he has hots for Sansa. So he hides the original letter Sansa was forced to write when her father was in the black cells, where she urges for Robb to swear fealty to Joffrey.
What way will Arya take this? Anyone from the audience? A bad way, you say? Yes, I think that’s correct.
Well, only two episodes to go for the season, so Arya will likely confront Sansa and the Chaos Man sooner rather than later. And also, if the Dead will get through, they will do that soon.
Jon gathers the rest of his fellowship, and even in this group of seven there have been many betrayals and enmities. But they’ll work together, for better or worse.
