Agatha S2 & Wiccan show work as one for me. Kathryn stays as a comedic genius across Joe's baby Wiccan where they grow closer while exploring plot points like-lack of control over their magic, dealing with guilt & darkness that comes with it, acknowledging that Billy was created from scratch too and is the son that survived. There's a story here with these two:)
Billy's identity crisis
Billy and Wanda
Both Wanda and Agatha have been written to have lost their chance at raising their boys, until now that they meet Billy but the story is more sophisticated that just giving a son back- it's what these women actively choose to do for him, and what all he returns, all in the backdrop of immeasurable potential that ties these characters together, along with an emotional bond.
Wanda lends Billy her greatness while the Kaplans keep him grounded and Agatha essentially raises the Demiurge. I cant wait for her to break it to him like she did to Wanda, except they would have grown much closer by the time and she would have such a proud face.
I am going to be delulu here on and write a scene where Billy's sheer unadulterated wish of wellbeing for Agatha, actually resurrects her(involving tears and all the dramatics), tying it all with the origins of the primordial elder god Demiurge, who Billy is understood to be a derivative of, destined to become the sentient force of LIFE, representing everything on the earth's biosphere.(I might or might not have a tiny plant grow out of Billy's tears, cuz baby that's life)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If MCU can have Wanda play with the chaos magic lore, so can Billy. I just read a short thread on Chaos Magic and it essentially connects back to the origin of life, probability of existence, that i derive to be the big bang. Bro carries stars on his suit. What did we expect.

Halloween Season may be over, but Agatha All Along season still needs to thrive. I’ve rewatched episode seven too many times to count, and every time I just appreciate it EVEN MORE. The costuming, the artistry, the use of the tarot cards, the storytelling, the acting. It’s just absolutely phenomenal, and surpassed even the Loki S2 finale for me as the best Marvel television episode ever. (Now give an extra episode dedicated like this to Jen)

S3E1 (spoilers abound)
Already saw the first 5 minutes on Tudum. I'm firmly in the "Colin didn't see Penelope when he arrived, he was too busy looking at her house" camp. It's sweet that Pen as LW singles out the new debutantes and tries to prop them up.
I love that one of the debutantes is deaf, more diversity on this show is a good thing.
Ah, Francesca's been in Bath since the beginning of S2, thank you, Violet.
"If I can be at ease in the chaos of our home, surely I shall find my way in the Season." Truer words never spoken, Frannie.
Francesca's not the Diamond? WTAF?
Those fucking sheer gloves. I hate them SO MUCH. Long gloves were for modesty, making them sheer makes them pointless. Somebody fetch me the costume designer, I just want to talk.
So Eloise is already "friends" with Cressida and it looks like she is trying to protect Pen from her. We'll see how long this lasts.
Can we nominate Jessica Madsen now for the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series? I always hate Cressida but if, as rumored, we're going to sympathize with her this season, then I'm sure Jessica will knock it out of the park.
I love that Violet and Kate are getting along so well. I'm also thrilled that Violet doesn't approve of Eloise being friends with Cressida.
"I will move into a dower house as soon as I find one." Oookay, 15 minutes into the first episode and we have our first error. Dower houses aren't something a dowager FINDS, it's a (relatively) smaller house on an estate that the family already HAS. What Violet is looking for is a TOWN house in London since the Bridgertons should already have a DOWER house at Aubrey Hall!
Shonda, please, hire me as a script doctor. I assure you I'm affordable.
Lady Danbury: "Lady Bridgerton." Violet and Kate: "Yes?" I love that and I'm sure Agatha did it deliberately, it's cute.
Colin, dearheart, what in the actual fuck are you doing? Flirting shamelessly is only going to get you in trouble.
Lady Cowper is a bitch but we already knew that. I wonder if she took as long as her daughter to find a husband.
Wow, Portia really has given up on Pen finding a husband. This is giving me "Like Water for Chocolate" vibes (I hated that movie, so it's not a compliment).
Error #2. Unless I'm wrong, this is Spring 1815. (According to Wikipedia, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story had Princess Charlotte dying in November 1814, three years before her real-life counterpart.) Emma wasn't published until December 1815. Yeah, we're talking about only a few months and the book does match what El is going through, but still.
Great, another El & Pen fight. El, you can pretend all you like (and you're not even doing a good job) but you are MISERABLE without your best friend. Someone El respects needs to tell her off so that she'll finally grow the fuck up.
Benedict took care of the estate while Anthony and Kate were on their honeymoon? Um, Anthony, WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A STEWARD?! You know, a person you PAY to look after the estate for you instead of asking your brother to do it for free! It gave him something to do, which I'm sure was Anthony's intention, but still!
The Mondriches have just joined the nobility! Well, their eldest son has. Oh boy, Alice is not happy. I don't blame her -- her stress level just increased a hundredfold.
I need to do a @regencyama post about titles, specifically inheriting them. With the Featheringtons and now the Mondriches having a son inheriting from his mother's bloodline, I need to emphasize how rarely this happened in real life. Good on Shonda for including the concept but really, did it have to happen twice in the same episode?
NEWTON!!! Bestest boy ever!
I know that ballroom! Lady Danbury's ballroom either is or is inspired by the Marble Hall at Kedleston. I'd know those columns and the lines of black-and-white panels anywhere.
Pen, honey, your entrance would go better if you didn't look FUCKING TERRIFIED. Albion is a sweetheart, he's the best brother-in-law for Pen (well, on her side). Oh good, she's finally smiling. Portia! How can you think that's a bad color for her? Is she a little color blind? That would explain SO MUCH.
Suddenly get thirsty there, Colin? LOL He has no idea what's coming.
Some of the (presumably) eligible men are finally noticing Pen. How long before Colin steps in? Oh, Pen, you are so awkward around people you don't know well, glad to see that hasn't changed (yet).
El and Cressida talking to some of the new debutantes while Pen is still being awkward with the men. Forget flirting lessons, she doesn't even know how to just talk to men. And El, lowkey making fun of Miss Hartigan for liking embroidery. Grow up, El. At least this girl is true to herself, unlike someone I could name.
Fife is giving off the CREEPIEST vibes as he talks to poor Frannie. What do you bring to the table, good sir? A title? Look around -- titles are a dime a dozen. Surely you can do better than that.
That's what sets Fran off? This scene was one the clips that Netflix released early. I assume the gentlemen had said something offensive but they simply asked her who she is beyond her hobbies. Well, she has been doing nothing but practicing the pianoforte for what, two years now? Maybe she feels there really isn't much to her than that. Well, she's what, 17 now? She's got plenty of time to find herself.
I love how sympathetic and sweet Pen and Frannie are to each other. They're like sisters already.
Cressida with a steel chair! Seriously, there would be a small room off the ballroom reserved just for mending dresses -- tears happened all the time, as well as melted wax dripping from the candles in the chandeliers, spills, etc. But back to Cressida -- she must think very lowly of herself if she truly cannot abide any competition at all.
Too little, too fucking late, El. Choke on your apology, it's neither needed nor wanted. (I love El but haven't liked her for a long time, if that makes sense.)
Another scene Netflix gave us early -- Pen confronting Colin about what he said about her the end of S2. She was already having a bad night and Colin being all smiles was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Uh oh, Pen's writing a new LW column without even getting changed first. Honey, you're writing this in anger, you're probably going to regret at least half of it.
Portia's sweating now with that phony document about the title being questioned. Oh, this guy is threatening her, in that so very English way.
Ooo, are we finally seeing the real Cressida?
A whispering bench! Sorry, I have the tiniest landscaping nerd inside me.
Looks like Kanthony will have a three-month-old with them the beginning of the next Season.
Colin comes the morning after to apologize. Good boy. Still clueless, but good boy.
The Mondriches at their new house and their eldest boy is addressed as Lord Kent. I'm horrible at guessing children's ages but I think this kid is a preteen at most and his life just changed forever.
I will say the portrait of Edmund and Violet is very good. (I assume it's an actual painting and not a photo that has undergone Photoshop or whatever.) Have the writers made Francesca aro? Or at least demisexual? It'll be interesting to see where this goes.
I fucking told you you'd regret that column, Pen. The funny part is that she's not wrong about Colin, but she's certainly not nice about it.
Colin, for fuck's sake, MARINA AND ELOISE RUINED THEMSELVES! If LW hadn't said anything, things actually would have gone a lot worse for Marina, El, your whole family, and especially you, so shut the fuck up.
Four whole minutes of end credits, seriously?
Well, that was certainly an interesting start to both the Season and the season.

Agatha All Along and Loki(s), my thoughts
[Cointains spoilers for: Agatha All Along (2023), Loki (2021), Young Avengers (Marvel Now! 2013) and Journey Into Mystery (from #622)]
[I watched this show not on D+ or any other platform that had the original English dialogue. Whatever I recall from the show has thus been translated by me from the Italian dialogues]
Giving in to @lucianalight 's nudging about watching Agatha All Along yielded some interesting results and I'm going to share. Thank you Luci.
Overall thoughts on Agatha itself are:
very good, 9.5/10. That remaining 0.5 is a score I give to concluded stories that have wrapped up nicely without disappointing me–Agatha doesn't get it because it doesn't feel concluded, although it did not disappoint me.
In fact, it gets high praise for not feeling like an MCU series at all, which means its story was engaging and well performed (everyone seemingly did their loving best and the sets and cgi were good), the characterization didn't feel disrespectful, I didn't feel the need to throw anything at any point, it kept me guessing back and forth for a long time during the episodes, and it truly felt like an independent series I could have randomly found on Netflix and binged in two days as I did. I only needed to ask Luci a few clarifications (I haven't watched Wandavision) and they could be delivered with a few sentences at most, so the series itself stands on solid lore and storytelling.
Major props to the soundtrack and song choices too.
Being a Loki comics reader and thus already knowing who Billy was meant I was able to make accurate guesses on what would happen and why throughout the story, and I think it lessened my enjoyment, but I don't think it should diminish my judgement of it all. I was pleasantly surprised at least once as I sidetracked myself thinking I was cleverer than the story, and although for some reason I couldn't manage to learn the other witches' names besides Alice's, I very much enjoyed their characters, the acting, their storylines and how they were told. The concept and execution of divination in the show is quite engaging.
10/10 on the humor. Coherent with the story, well-sprinkled, not one cringe one-liner for the sake of one-liners, didn't treat me like a dim idiot. Seeing the Agatha-Billy interrogation and chase scene from his POV was sooo funny I giggled the entire time, and I appreciate that the humor was created through the juxtaposition of two sequences that made sense in their own time, not through childish jokes. That's real work. It reminded me of the effortless humor in Loki S2.
More of this please. Stories and characters loved by their storytellers, a healthy consideration of the audience's intelligence, diverse cast, settings that were real–true respect for people and craft.
Similarities with the YA story
Across the central and penultimate episodes, I was reminded of Ikol from the 2013 Young Avengers run, and it was interesting.
Episode 5: I was first reminded of how Ikol wanted to take Billy's power by Agatha taking Alice's, as both stories involve Billy, and him being mad about someone taking someone else's power, and the act itself is an important part of the plot;
Episode 8: Agatha and Ikol both consider an option leading Billy to his death for their own gain, then both have a change of heart that lets Billy live;
(a bit of a stretch but I was laser-focused on similarities, so–Rio Death carving a path out in the background like AoA Loki drew a door in the background lol)
the way show-Billy's power acts through the Road reminded me of YA-Ikol's guilt-led missing power***
To Luci I jokingly said "'Based on Marvel comics' yeah I know which one."
I find it peculiar because, in a way, knowing that story + general expectations of how a story like Agatha could work allowed me to predict what was going to happen in the second half of it. It combined with my previous knowledge of Billy and it amused me to no end. I can't help but see Agatha in the role of Ikol within Billy's experiences–in Agatha, she helped him realize he was the creator of the Road and the implications of it. In the YA run, Ikol helped Billy along in realizing his powers to save Teddy and get rid of the Mother parasite.
Future MCU projects with Billy and Loki
In another post of mine, I'd shared the idea of having Kid Loki from the series be the one joining a team of Young Avengers, with the magpie being Tree Loki.
In JiM, Ikol the Magpie is a hallucination of the Kid from the phantom of the old Loki planted in his mind, with malignant intentions. But the magpie in a future series/movie could be benevolent–the MCU seldom follows comics faithfully and this could be a very nice instance of that habit. I would very much enjoy Tree Loki extending some protection and guidance to the displaced Kid. I think he would be kind to all the young heroes, and be particularly interested in Billy given Billy's ability to warp things, thus his potential to create timelines or even, through destructive actions, erase some.
At the end of Agatha, her ghost and Billy start looking for Tommy. The YA run, besides running from Mother, also includes looking for Tommy. I can see this being the basis for a future MCU project with the younger cast that has been introduced slowly after Endgame.
"Your path winds out of time" and "I need more time!"
I have the headcanon that the Road created by Billy was outside Time, simply because of that sentence. Yes, it most likely references Rio-Death, the original Green Witch described as the cycle of all living things, growth and decline in a constant stream, the common path everyone walks on, and is likely a warning directed at divination witch lady–***which by the way was the element that made me realize Billy's power shaped the Road around each participant, like Ikol's guilt-led missing power shaped itself around each Young Avenger's past for the final confrontation.
The Road-out-of-time is an interesting headcanon and I'm keeping it. It would make Tree Loki's curiosity more peculiar too. I'm sure there's more to be said about this whole thing.
It caught my attention that "I need more time!" was a repeated line/invocation in Agatha. I remember three instances (it's late as I add this so I might misremember): while the ceiling with swords was lowering, while Agatha was trying to make the dandelion growth, and Agatha pleading for more time with her child. Another little crumb I found intriguing.
Death the Green Witch, green the color of Time
I'd like it so much if Rio Death was a Loki. Or, better, more abstractly, a consequence of Loki creating Yggdrasil.
Agatha describes death as the green witch, tied to the cycle of all living things, growth and decline in a constant stream–like the branches of the Tree.
Green being the color of Time and all that exists within it means so much to me after everything the MCU did.
"Loki's magic keeps the multiverse alive. If he dies everything dies with him" pointed out Luci to me. True–so Loki is both life and death in the MCU. Time means growing, like the branching timelines, like living beings from birth through youth through maturity to death. From the beginning to the end. A manifestation of Death is a manifestation of Time, and in the MCU, Loki is Time–in Norse Mythology Loki is the parent of Hel. Well, I'd say Loki's the parent of death in the MCU in a way.
(Which brings me to MCU Hela, in an–undeserving of my brainpower and efforts–explanation for why she looks similar to Loki despite them not being closely related: if you become the god of something, you take on certain characteristics. Like a green and black palette)
Light thoughts: SWORD
Luci told me SWORD was in the Wandavision series after I asked if it might have been the SHARP society from the Mackenzi Lee's Where Mischief Lies book–a young Loki going to Midgard and running into a ragtag society whose acronym he finds silly, suggesting two more: first SWORD and then SHIELD.
I'm not expecting anything to come from this light connection, but like the "Your path winds out of time" quote, I find it really interesting.

There is no before.
Confounding Superposition Award - Fallout - S1
Tumblr media
This show has me in a bind. On one hand, taken in isolation, it's great! The story is cool, characters are nice, the setting and props are awesome. But taken as the last installment in the Fallout universe, it's just so dissapointing how they have no interest in actually furthering the story along its natural progression and instead chose to go back to the state the world was at 100+ years before…
Bleeding Heart Award - Interview with the vampire - S2
Tumblr media
Claudia will always be doomed by the narrative, won't she?
Buddie to Be Award - 911 - S1 to S5 so far
Tumblr media
Finally took the plunge this year after Buck manly attraction finally went from subtext to text. It's been a while since I got hooked on a fun procedural.

Another year, another great season. More serious and pulling on your heartstrings but this show remains a comfort watch.

Tumblr media
I wasn't expecting anyless than another great show from the same team that did Wandavision, and boy did they deliver.
Best Performance Award 1 - Shogun - Anna Sawai - S01E09 "Crimson Sky"
Tumblr media
The poise, the subtlety, the strength, the vulnerability, etc… What praise is there not to give to Anna Sawai for her interpretation of the MVP Lady Mariko-sama?
Best Performance Award 2 - Agatha All Along - Pattty Lupone - S01E07 "Death's Hand in Mine"
Tumblr media
Still not over "I loved being a witch", in one of the most memorable episode of the year.
Farewell my Immortal Friends Award - What We Do In The Shadows - S6
Tumblr media
This season was again hilarious and yet, the last episode felt a bit weird? It was an ending without being a conclusion which I get can be frustrating. In any case, see you all some other time, the best vampire family of Staten Island!
Best Animated Goodbye Award - Arcane - S2
Tumblr media
2 wonderful seasons in the League of Legends universe? Who would have thought.
Best TV Show Award - Shogun - S1
Tumblr media
I'm still not sure what exactly glued me the most while watching this show, but between the awesome story line, the superb performances and the wonderful setting and design, I'm not really surprised. That and poetry that still makes me cry ("A flower is only a flower because it falls. Thankfully the wind." </3). Go watch it!

Hiiii 🤭🤭 so excited for you belong to me !!
Also for the ask game! 🖍️🤡🛠️?:D
Btw how are youuuu
THANK YOUUU tbh most of it is reader being a little shit as she should <3 but there are a few cute moments between her and wanda where they're just being idiots 🫶
wait this is so fun omg okay
🖍️ ahem so this fic is insanely angsty and heartwrenching and i really want to find the time to finish it but here you go 😊
“Y/N, it would take about two seconds for anyone in the school to figure it out,” Vision says. “Who else would give Wanda a note like that?”
“Nobody,” Wanda says, taking the note back. “Only Y/N.”
so i go back and forth 😭 there are 16 documents in total that i've started, but like actually currently working on and fleshing out i would say 2
🛠 not exactlyyyy but rn you belong with me is a little tricky and we're in s2 territory where there are a bunch of filler moments so im trying to figure out which ones to keep and which ones to omit, but it's still really fun to write so im good with it 🫶
im pretty good!!! if im being honest i was going through it a little bit for a while there, but it's getting so much better now and im really happy and grateful for that 😊 im currently in the process of watching agatha all along since i didn't get the opportunity to watch it as it came out and it's insane omg 😭 and the subtle little wanda name drops and hint give me so much serotonin i miss my baby so much i want her back 😔

Could you possibly write a hackle fic? Perhaps some post s2 hurt/comfort?
Sure I can, Nonny, though it might not be what you were expecting. I… hope you like flogging?
Summary: After the Academy thaws, Hecate helps Ada reckon with her role in bringing the school to this crisis point. Dom!Hecate pulls no punches, but gives Ada her catharsis. NSFW.cw: lots of kink. And I mean, lots of it.
“I’m not going to let you down gently, you know.”
“I know, Hecate.”
Hecate flicked her eyes down over her wife’s body. Ada was standingin the middle of the Headmistress’ office and made no attempt to approachHecate, who was seated behind the desk. Just for tonight, Hecate was still ActingHeadmistress. It took all of Hecate’s control to stay in that role, to keepherself from rushing over and grasping her hands and showering her with kissesand relief that, once again, they had somehow pulled through. But that was notwhat Ada needed.
“Ada, your actions put the school in danger. You ignored mymisgivings and invited a snake to teach here, for the second time in as many years. You allowed multiple pupils to be frozen as the artteacher drained the Academy of its magic. You allowed multiple pupils toattempt to sacrifice their own magic for the Academy, and for one to leech powerfrom the Founding Stone itself. It was, at best, highly irresponsible conduct for one who purports to be the guardian of thefuture of witchcraft.”
Ada stood silent for a long moment, her gaze fixed on thesurface of the Headmistress’ desk, her face difficult for Hecate to read. Shewas still.
“Ada.”
Her voice wavered. “I feel that I have fallen short in myduties as Headmistress this term. For the last year, even. Ever since Agatha’sreturn, she has consumed my thoughts. I am in constant doubt.”
“You are your own worst enemy,” Hecate offered, in her firstattempt at compassion.
“I have felt myself slipping, and the knowledge makes meever less able to handle the task at hand.”
“Yes,” she agreed, simply. Ada finally looked up to meet hergaze. Her eyes were soft and open behind her spectacles, and it pained Hecate. But now was not the time for comfort, not yet. “And you know what you must do,don’t you, Ada?”
“I must repair the damage. Restore the students’ trust.”
“And the parents’.”
“And the parents.’ I must find the strength to be the leaderthis school needs again.”
“Tell me what you need,” Hecate said, her voice low andsmooth, trying to move her along, to coax the words from Ada’s mind. She could tellthat Ada needed the encouragement: her eyes were still searching, her fingers toyingwith the edge of her pink jumper. Hecate made an effort to soften her features, letting her eyes weave over Ada’s hair, her cheeks.
Ada cracked a smile for the first time, a slow wistful smile. She took a deep breath, as if expecting resistance. “I need quiet. I need toput it down, just for tonight.”
Hecate paused, considering her request. She flexed herfingers, rested her chin in her hands. “And you’d like my help with that?”
“Yes.”
“Very well,” Hecate said, with only the barest hint of a sigh.“Tomorrow we will begin rebuilding. Tonight we rest.”
Ada’s smile widened, eyes crinkling at the corners. Hecate restrainedherself no longer: pushing her palms flat against the desk, she rose from theHeadmistress’ chair and opened her arms to Ada, who fell against her with asoft thud, her face nuzzling into the fabric of Hecate’s collar. Hecate wrappedher arms around her, palms tracing broad circles over her back. Squeezing hertightly, Hecate initiated the transfer.
They rematerialized together in Hecate’s bedroom. Hecatestepped back, detangling their limbs, and glanced over Ada’s body. So tense, still.
“We need to get you out of your own head.”
“Yes, Headmistress,” came Ada’s reply. Hecate felt a slighttwinge in her jaw. That was new.
But she could improvise. She put on her most commanding tone, the one she normally reserved for a certain pigtailed pupil. “Miss Cackle. Facethe wall.” Ada’s eyes widened, but she complied without a word. Hecate rosefrom her seat and approached Ada’s back.
“How are we doing, Miss Cackle?”
“Green.”
“Good. I’m going to remove your scarf,” Hecate said, “and tieit over your eyes.”
“Yes, Headmistress.” With permission granted, Hecate removedAda’s spectacles, then used her magic to uncoil the pink scarf from Ada’s neckand wrap it around her head, covering her eyes. She saw Ada shiver from the sparkof Hecate’s magic as it made contact with her skin. She was so responsivetonight: it would be light work, to get Ada where she needed to be.
She bent down to whisper in her lover’s ear. “Now just be agood girl and do what I tell you.” Ada could not suppress a sharp intake ofbreath.
Hecate grasped Ada’s shoulders and steered her to the bed. When her legs hit something soft, she folded onto it.
“Did I give you permission to lie down?” Hecate’s voicecracked like a whip. Ada scrambled to her feet again. “I think you need to showsome… restraint.” Ada licked her lips, completely unself-conscious of her ownbody now that she could not feel Hecate’s gaze. “Sit yourself on the bed, MissCackle.”
Ada did so, using her hands to hoist her bottom up to the heightof Hecate’s mattress. Hecate peeled the pink jumper from her shoulders, smoothing her hands over her skin. She unbuttoned the front of her dress toremove it, then slid off her stockings. With a flick of her wrist, a slickblack ribbon snaked from each of the four posts of Hecate’s bed and ensnaredone of Ada’s limbs. Another swish and the ribbons pulled taut, pulling Ada’s feetfrom under her, plopping her onto her back.
Hecate could hardly contain herself. She took a breath andhoped her voice did not betray her.
“Ada, my darling. Would you like me to touch you?” Ada letout a whimper in response. Hecate felt a crest of relief: here was firmerground, an easy way to pull back into her teacher voice. “No, that’s notenough. Tell me what you want.”
“Yes…. please, Hecate.”
“Please what?,” lingering over the snap of the t. It hung in the air between them.
“Please touch me.”
Standing over the bed, Hecate lowered her palms to Ada’sexposed skin and began to stroke gently, from her shoulders across her chestand stomach, and back up to the soft skin of her throat.
“Harder.”
“No,” came Hecate’s swift reply. Not yet. Ada pouted, a childish turn of the lips that amused Hecategreatly. How charming she was when she felt no one watching her.
Hecate rolled through her palms to press down with the padsof her fingers: with an even lighter touch, she began to wander aimless tracksover Ada’s skin. She brushed down to her elbows, the underside of her breasts, and further, to trace the curve of her hip. Ada began to squirm, frustrated bythe languorous pace, the unpredictability of her path.
“Settle.” With significant effort, by the looks of it, Adastilled herself, though she could not suppress a huff. Hecate removed her fingers, quietly charming one hand with a temperature spell. When she made contactagain, it was directly on Ada’s nipple, and her touch was icy. Ada yelped.
Hecate’s other hand, still warm, went to pat the side of Ada’storso. “How are we doing?”
“Green,” she replied, and Hecate began to scrape cold lines overAda’s breasts. “Oh, green.” Ada liked a little sting. Hecate had not seen herthis open and eager in years: she began to alternate cold scratches on one handwith warm, smooth caresses on the other, and Ada began to pant and hiss inresponse. Hecate climbed into the bed, kneeling between Ada’s legs, for betteraccess. Preemptively, Ada raised her hips, only slightly: but immediately, Hecate’shands shoved her back down. Ada made a half-strangled noise of frustration inthe back of her throat.
“My, we are impatienttonight,” said Hecate, using the tone that made Ada melt every time, a tone ofgentle mockery, seductive in its liquid modulations. Her hands adopted asimilar manner, their pace increasing as Hecate plotted her next move. How keenlyshe wanted to fall upon Ada’s warm body, to melt into her, to welcome her home. But tonight was not for Hecate.
She varied her touch, long strokes to sharp scratches to hushedteasing skin-whispers. Hecate found herself needing to chart her course, toavoid falling into a pattern. Just when she thought she could only manageanother minute at most, she felt the restlessness in Ada’s limbs start todissolve. Her magic softened from a fizz to a gentle hum as Ada finally settledinto her body: the realization must have dawned upon her that Hecate could dragthis out forever, that until she behaved herself, she would not receive thedeep touches she craved.
“That’s my girl,” she said, her syllables expanding likepools for Ada to soak in. Another steadying breath, in and out, another softhum. Hecate placed her hands firmly on Ada’s hips, guiding her to turn over. The ribbons around Ada’s ankles released, and those at her wrists unwrappedfrom their posts, fastening themselves again on the opposite sides, when Ada hadrolled onto her front. Reflexively she pulled her knees underneath her, sittingon her heels. She knew what came next.
Hecate’s flogger hung from a hook in her closet. Shesummoned it now, along with two other choice items from her shelf. Those wouldcome later.
She swished the tails through her hand to let Ada know whattonight’s implement would be. “Do you like it?”
“Yes… please,” Ada responded, out of breath.
“Up on your knees, then.” Hecate wasted no time. She broughtthe tails down on Ada’s bare skin, producing a small shower of pitter-pattering smacks. Adagasped: she was never as ready as she said she was.
Hecate could be patient. She brought the flogger higher, brushing it against Ada’s lower back, then crossing her skin at an obliqueangle, twice in quick succession. The impact came at a higher pitch, almost awhistle, with a whimper from Ada to match telling her that it was welcome. Shepaused for a moment, switching her grip, then took aim at the fleshy part ofAda’s thighs, underneath her buttocks. This time tails landed squarely, producing a satisfying thud. Ada moaned out loud, pitching forward on her arms, exposing more of her thighs to Hecate’s reach. Hecate took full advantage, bringing the hide down onto her flesh again and again. Ada’s vocal response amplified, until each impact had her pleading for more.
Time to raise the intensity. She stretched the handle infront of her like a staff, concentrating her magic upon it. The handlelengthened until it felt more like a whip in Hecate’s hand. At the same time, the tails grew longer, flaring to pointed tips that Hecate knew would leave welts. Starting with hermost padded flesh, she cracked the flogger through the air. As the tips raineddown upon her skin, Ada cried out, knees quaking. Hecate brought a hand to thecrease of her hip to steady her, and felt the heat radiating from her body.
It was intoxicating, but Hecate wasn’t finished. Wieldingthe handle in a figure-eight pattern, she criss-crossed Ada’s buttocks andlower back with stings, her pace punishing, the impacts unrelenting. One afteranother, as Ada moaned and sobbed. She found herself counting: four, five… eleven, twelve, thirteen. Adafell silent at seventeen. At twenty-two, Hecate put the flogger down.
The redness sprawled across Ada’s skin like a rash. Hecate smoothedgentle hands over her once again, pressed the length of her body along Ada’sback. She allowed herself a moment to bury her face in the back of Ada’s neck, inhaling the scent of her hair.
The tears soaked through the scarf that still restricted hervision: they trickled down Ada’s cheeks and onto the sheet.
“You did well, my sweet,” Hecate reassured her, stillcovering Ada’s body with her own. Her hands slipped between Ada’s body and thebed, stroking the unflogged skin that trembled with pain all the same. “I amhere, right here with you, Ada,” she said.
Ada turned her head, plaintive, and Hecate leaned in to kissher for the first time that night. As their lips met, the tendrils of theirpower twisted together and melted into one another. Ada released a moan againstHecate’s mouth, and Hecate pulled her closer.
The moment stretched on between them. Finally Hecate pulledaway, murmuring, “One more.”
“Dealer’s choice,” said Ada, her cheeks tinged with warmthonce more.
Hecate’s fingers were already groping for the items she hadput aside earlier. A small bottle half-full of a viscous greenish liquid, andsomething else that Ada couldn’t see, but would know by feel. Hecate uncorked thebottle and dispensed a generous helping into her palm. The first contact withher skin: it sent a shiver up her spine. Still potent.
Carefully, she wedged herself between Ada’s legs and spreadher knees apart. She reached between Ada’s legs, supplementing her plentifulwarm wetness with that on her hand.
Ada let out an “Oh!,” followed by, “the goatweed, myfavorite.” Hecate hummed her approval, knowing that it was producing a powerfultingling sensation, stimulating Ada’s already-sensitive nerve endings. Primingher. She then, as she sometimes did, brought her fingertips to her own core, allowingherself to feel the same sensations that she had given Ada, and would give.
The rest of the liquid she smoothed onto her last item, awell-loved toy. All three of them were now connected through this membrane, twowitches and one toy. Hecate pressed it up against her entrance, her hips closebehind. Ada’s breath caught as it slid smoothly into her. The moan came fromsomeplace deep in her belly, and Hecate loved it. She snaked one hand aroundAda’s front to rub two moistened fingers up and down against her clit. Adaleaned hard into Hecate’s touch. Hecate returned the gesture, squaring her hipstightly against Ada’s, the toy wedged between their bodies, moving by Hecate’swill alone. Ada collapsed into the mattress, Hecate on top of her, her handbeneath. Finally, here was the pressure Ada craved.
Hecate worked her fingers, relying on Ada’s weight to createthe necessary friction, as her hips guided the enchanted toy in and out of herat a tempo just shy of frenzied. She needed to be overwhelmed with sensation, toblot out all else, and herein lay Hecate’s strength. As with many things Adaloved so well about Hecate, her consistency of rhythm, of pressure, made Adalose all semblance of thought. She heard nothing but an ambient roar, as if herears were blanketed with seashells, and felt herself in slow motion. She buckedagainst the steady strokes, feeling herself submerged, and short of breath. Shemade one last ragged attempt to inhale as her release overtook her, pointingand flexing in quick succession, each contraction disorienting her with thedepth of need it filled. Unconscious of the sounds emanating from her, she feltonly the pulsing of her body and Hecate’s and what she needed, what she needed…
As she came back to her body, Ada became aware that she wascrying again. Hecate had fallen upon her, panting almost as hard as Adaherself. The scarf came off, the ribbons detached from Ada’s wrists and coiledthemselves at Hecate’s bedposts. Ada rolled onto her back, taking Hecate intoher arms at last, holding her.
They lay like that for what seemed like ages. Hecate feltthat she should say something, but with the heaviness of sleep settling intoher limbs, she couldn’t quite think of what. She hoped it had been enough, todraw Ada out of her mind and into her body, give her the safety of herself, toprepare her for the hard work of reckoning they would embark upon in themorning, together.
Ada’s lips were moving against Hecate’s hair. “What’s that?”
“Thank you,” said Ada.
There would be time. Tomorrow.

Greetings, all! What follows is something I’ve been wanting to address for a while. It’s a bit of a headache (I know, believe me------I had to write it all out xD), so bear with me, please. :) (A big thanks to born-to-be-admired for contributing to this post as well!)
I have stated multiple times, as I’m sure many of you have noticed, that myself and my exclusive partners do not abide by the canon of S3 of the new series (Or S2 beyond E04) of Poldark. Sadly, both S3 and a great deal of S2 do a horrible job portraying both events and characters, straying dramatically not only from the source content (The novels) but more importantly, from the already existing canon of the show (Most notably in the cases of characters such as George, Elizabeth, Demelza, and Caroline). Also, both butcher the passage of time beyond recognition. As a result, we have been now been presented with versions of events/characters that I consider to be poorly conceived of and in some cases entirely inaccurate, and so don’t abide by.
Let me just start off by saying that I am in no way attempting to dictate other people’s portrayals------like me, you’re free to run with whatever version of the canon you want, for whatever your reasons. As I’ve said before, the canon I abide by is taken essentially from the books, with modifications made to allow for the canon of S1 of the new series (And S2 up to E04), which is my first and foremost source.
This doesn’t mean that I’m unwilling to interact with people who don’t abide by all the same canon as me------as I’ve said, I’m not here to dictate other people’s portrayals, and so long as blatant contradictions don’t arise in our interactions, we’re probably going to be okay. However, if contradictions are raised, and it becomes clear that our versions of events/characters are very different, I may be forced to drop the exchange. Obviously, it just doesn’t work to have my character saying one thing happened and yours saying another when that thing is meant to be an indisputable fact.
So, what I would request first and foremost is that you don’t assume when RPing with me that anything happened like it happened in S3 of the new series, or in S2 from E04 onward. I understand this may be confusing for some people (Particularly those who haven’t read the books), and that you may be wondering what remains and what doesn’t, and in the cases of the things that don’t, what occurs instead. I will try to outline some of the differences I think are most likely to arise below.
Of course, there’s a lot I could go into------the vast majority of George’s behavior in S3 is illogical, and that’s not even touching on other characters/events. That said, I will try to keep this short and highlight the points which I feel are most likely to come up during interaction, and which could be potentially detrimental to that exchange (And not go into all of the whys, since that would get unnecessarily lengthy). Also, I won't delve too deeply into anything involving only myself and my exclusive partners, as we're already on the same page, and that information isn’t going to be of a lot of use to other people.
First off, let’s talk about the passage of time in the new series. This is very complicated and messy (Take my word for it), but I will try to put it as simply as possible: not as much time passes in the new series as passes in the books. Of course, this shouldn’t matter much, provided the story is adapted to suit. But it isn’t. Instead, there comes a time in S2 where to the new series fails to acknowledge the fact that less time has gone by (And does nothing to compensate for the time lost). In other words, with the passage of time the show has presented, it is not possible for the year to be 1794 at the start of S3, but the series writers choose to behave as if the year is 1794 just the same. The year should in fact be 1791, and this is what myself and my exclusive partners run with. This means that George and Elizabeth’s marriage takes place in 1790, and Valentine and Clowance’s births in 1791. Agatha’s death would take place in 1792. Morwenna’s arrival at Trenwith/Drake and Sam’s arrival at Nampara, however, must still take place in the year of 1794 (Again, I won’t go into all of the reasons why. Just take my word for it). This also means that Dwight (Who would have joined the Navy in 1790 instead of 1793) is at sea for longer before he is taken prisoner.
Now that’s out of the way, let’s move on to those points I was going to highlight. Again, these are taken directly from the novels, with some small modifications made to allow for the canon of S1 (And S2 up to E04), which remains my first and foremost canon source.
- Both Jud and Prudie have been dismissed from service at Nampara by the time of Valentine’s birth (They still live nearby in the village of Sawle), having been replaced by John and Jane Gimlett.
- Dwight does not attend Elizabeth during Valentine’s birth. Rather, she is attended first by Dr. Choake, and then by Dr. Behenna.
- Dwight does not treat Valentine when he develops rickets. This also falls to Dr. Behenna.
- George does not question Dwight about Valentine’s prematurity. These questions are posed to Dr. Behenna.
- George and Geoffrey Charles get along well prior to George discovering that he and Morwenna have been associating with Drake.
- Geoffrey Charles does not take interest in visiting Ross, or in mining.
- Morwenna’s appointment as Geoffrey Charles’s governess is a mutual decision reached by George and Elizabeth, both of whom are in favor of the idea. George does not spring her appointment on Elizabeth, and Geoffrey Charles is informed he is to have a governess beforehand.
- George never deliberately attempts to use Morwenna to put distance between Elizabeth and Geoffrey Charles, but rather hopes that her presence will better prepare Geoffrey Charles for the more disciplined environment he will be faced with when he begins attending school.
- Elizabeth, while saddened by the growing distance between herself and Geoffrey Charles, is never resentful towards Morwenna, and is only ever kind to her.
- Morwenna, while greatly taken with Drake and influenced by her feelings for him, always maintains a strong regard for what is expected of her and their respective social standings. She would never lightly disgrace her family, or abandon them financially by marrying a penniless man without their consent. She feels not only a considerable obligation to conform to what is socially acceptable, but also a genuine desire to please and care for her family.
- Morwenna and Drake at no point agree to marry (Prior to their marriage near the end of The Angry Tide, that is).
- Geoffrey Charles, while very pleased that Drake and Morwenna are friends, takes a greater interest in his own friendship with Drake. He is not aware of Drake and Morwenna’s romantic interest in one another, and does not attempt to encourage it.
- Demelza, while disappointed that Ross does not accept the magistracy he was offered, is not critical of his decision. She does feel as though he could have effected positive change had he taken the position, but she is far more deeply troubled by the fact that she feels he has declined an honor that was his by right, and she feels badly that he will not receive the recognition she believes he deserves. However, she fully supports his decision, and firmly believes he should only do what he feels to be right. This incident does not create any contention between them.
- While George is eager to make a good match for Morwenna for his own personal benefit, he also looks to please Elizabeth by securing an advantageous marriage for cousin, as well as to prevent Morwenna further influencing Geoffrey Charles (By sending her away), as he believes her influence to be a poor one. He also has a genuine concern for Morwenna’s future.
- Demelza and Morwenna do not meet prior to Morwenna’s marriage to Osborne.
- Ross did not torment George with toads while they were at school, and has nothing whatsoever to do with George’s dislike of them.
- On the sixth of June, after Drake has stopped bringing toads to Trenwith land but before his arrest for the theft of Geoffrey Charles’s bible, George and Elizabeth are informed by Clarence Odgers that Drake and Morwenna have been meeting. George, at this point, forbids Morwenna and Geoffrey Charles from seeing Drake. They meet once more at Trenwith in spite of this, and Geoffrey Charles gives Drake his bible.
- Drake’s bringing of the toads to Trenwith land and his supposed theft of Geoffrey Charles’s bible both take place prior to Dwight and Hugh’s rescue by Ross (The mission to France occurs immediately after Drake’s release).
- Morwenna marries Osborne while Drake is gone to France. Drake learns of Morwenna’s marriage to Osborne shortly after his return from France. Drake and Morwenna have no further contact after he returns.
- George does not make Morwenna’s marriage to Osborne a stipulation of Drake’s release; in fact, she has already heard of Drake’s release by the time she consents to marrying Osborne. In other words, although there is considerable pressure put upon her to do so, Morwenna is not forced to marry Osborne. Rather, she marries him because it is what is expected of her and what will most benefit her family, and also because (In spite of her love for him) she has always been aware that marrying Drake was never a rational option. Also because (Having heard of Drake’s arrest and feeling their relationship played a part) she does not wish to endanger him in future.
- Following Dwight and Hugh’s rescue, Ross and crew put in at Falmouth (Where the Blameys live), not at Hendrawna Beach.
- Following his imprisonment in France, Dwight’s physical health is compromised and he is left permanently weakened, which impacts his relationship with Caroline and his ability to practice his profession.
- Morwenna does not speak to anyone about the abuse she suffers at Osborne’s hands.
- Hugh does not sketch. Poetry is his only artistic endeavor.
- When Ross informs Demelza of his decision to decline a seat in Parliament, she is both pleased and relieved. As with the magistracy, she feels as though he might have effected positive change, and she would have been glad to see him do so---however, she feels he would have been very unhappy as a Member of Parliament, as there would have been a far greater likelihood of him being forced to deviate from his own beliefs and morals. Thus, she both supports and commends his decision to decline the offer.
- Demelza’s feelings for Hugh do not originate from spite or revenge. She does not wish to use him, and she does not indulge his advances out of resentment towards Ross. Rather, she comes to genuinely care for Hugh over a long period of time, and is particularly vulnerable to his attentiveness, as even when matters are well between her and Ross, he can be negligent of her more sensitive feelings. Hugh offers a kind of concern and thoughtfulness she has never been given before. When she learns of Ross and Elizabeth’s meeting in the graveyard, it does further distance her from Ross, which does make her more susceptible to her feelings for Hugh, but her own unfaithfulness is not an act of revenge. She never intends to be unfaithful, and she never intentionally encourages Hugh, though her feelings for him do undermine her efforts at times. When Hugh and Demelza do finally sleep together, it happens first and foremost because of her own deep feelings for him, developed over his many months of pursuit, and also out of sympathy, both for his illness, and for the love he bears her, as she knows she cannot truly give him what he wants.
- Though he has great misgivings about their relationship, and is fully aware that each has feelings for the other, Ross does not know that Demelza has been unfaithful to him until some time after the fact, when Hugh is on his deathbed. When he finds out, he reacts very badly.
Again, this is by no means everything wrong with S3, or everything that I do differently------but it does touch on a lot of the points I feel are more likely to come up. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and have a good one! ;)
