I think Curly’s monologue in the How Fish Are Made DLC gives so much insight to why he thinks the way he does but is also so sad cause it’s just this anger from a person who no longer has the energy to be angry.

You can tell a lot of it’s directed at himself, his choices and how he thinks they affected the people in his life. How he tried to work with what he had and it just wasn’t enough both by the design and how he interacted with it. He’s bitter, he’s upset but he’s also accepting it in a place he really isn’t expected to. But then again that’s always a problem he’s had.

It really goes in tandem with how he is characterized in mouthwashing as we really don’t get those inner turmoils. He’s always trying to help people with theirs and his gets clouded through a different persons view.

Idk why everyone is always so convinced Armand has a master plan behind the scenes. Like at this moment obviously his story doesn't line up and there's certainly a lot of things he's not saying. But i simply dont understand the appeal of a version of this story in which Armand was secretly in control the whole time. I think what makes him interesting is that he's weak. Hes a coward. Obviously him saying 'i could not prevent it' is a bald faced lie. But that doesn't mean the truth is that he CAUSED IT. I just think its way more interesting if he had nothing to do with the trial and he just kind of. Stood there and did nothing. Hes telling himself he could not have prevented it the same way Louis told himself Lestat didn't warn him about Claudia. Its not a calculated lie meant to deceive Daniel and Louis. It's a lie he's been telling himself for decades. The truth isnt complicated or clever its just very banal and therefore even more tragic. The truth is very simply that he could have prevented it, and he didn't.

I genuinely need people to remember that the only reason that tushan jing and xiao yao were in danger was because of cang xuan. Cang xuan desperately wanted tushan jing to look flawed and weak, and so he created the circumstances to make that happen. Tushan jing was never incompetent or foolish.

Massive Spoilers Ahead

Ok I liked the last two episodes but I have my nitpick. Let's get this out of my head so i can go to sleep.

So I'm not surprised that betty and simon "broke up" but like I kinda am? I've wanted Simon to move on from betty, to be able to live in the present and cherish it for what it is, but I think it's the way they broke up honestly that feels a bit off

They couldn't be together anymore. betty merged with golb and simon couldn't follow, and the cycle of chasing each other eternally wasn't healthy. People say their relationship when they were together was unhealthy and while that isn't untrue, the chasing and obsessing over each other was way worse. Betty tore herself apart for simon, and simon was left with a hole in his heart for 1000 years that he could never fill.

And it's that obsession which feels a bit... i dunno, left out? It's definitely addressed in the show, beth pointing out that nova was obsessed with casper. But it's also pointed out that Nova and Casper did love each other.

And Simon and Betty DO love each other so their parting, as reasonable and as fulfilling as it is, feels anticlimactic in a way? I think they should have parted with tears in their eyes, both acknowledging that they've made mistakes and the past can't be changed but they love each other so, so much and they wouldn't trade their time with each other, as short as it was, for anything. Betty's "You were a wonderful experience" doesn't track with the betty in elements wanting to go back in time to prevent simon from finding the crown and stopping the mushroom war and the betty in the finale who SUMMONED CTHULHU AND THEN MERGED WITH IT TO SAVE SIMON SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE KEEPING SIMON SAFE WAS HER TRUEST, DEEPEST WISH

im being a bit dramatic. the series finale was good i think, and most of everything i wanted happened.

Betty clearly wanted what's best for Simon, and what would be best for him now is to move on. But I think admitting that to herself, to Simon, should have been more painful. That's my nitpick. Simon's tale is a thousand year old tragedy and I think letting go would have been the most painful thing Simon and Betty had ever done.

When Reggie dragged them all to the renaissance faire when it was his turn to pick a date, Julie couldn't feel too bad. She got to wear a pretty dress, there were some fun shows and cool stalls, and well, the view wasn't too bad either. Between the boys in leather pants, Carrie and Flynn in some corseted dresses that definitely showed off their assets, there was plenty of eye candy to go around.

Luke had of course bought a lute at the first chance he got, and had figured it out well enough in like an hour that he'd accidentally earned ten bucks in tip money. Because of course Alex had been smart enough to put the ridiculous poofy hat Reggie made him wear at Luke's feet when it became clear they'd lost him to a new instrument for the time being. They passed him from time to time, but he seemed to be having the time of his life, writing a song on the spot about princesses and dragons for a group of very excited kids.

Carrie seemed to enjoy playing princess, and Julie also didn't really mind the way Reggie gallantly carried her over a puddle so she wouldn't get her dress wet. (Also, the piggyback he gave Willie when he demanded the same was pretty funny as well.)

There were also some more questionable sides the the Ren Faire that Julie had her doubts about. The giant turkey legs, for one. The fact that anyone thought it was a good idea to let Willie have a bow and arrow.

The fact that Flynn seemed to be scarily good at it gave her pause, but she did win a certificate. When Carrie asked her how she'd managed it (especially the fact that the guy working the stall had to put his foot on the target to pull the last axe out), she just shrugged and said: "Pictured Samantha."

Samantha, Flynn's super toxic ex who still came out of the woodwork every few months to find a new way to mess with her.

"That makes sense," Carrie said. "Next game, I'm picturing that reviewer that called Dirty Candi 'cheap and slutty'."

It did not make her hit the target (shooting tiny catapults trying to knock down a castle), but her little beanbag did nearly take out the eye of the lady running the stall.

Then there was the jousting. There were two wooden horses on rails you had to pedal to move towards each other and you got to try and knock off your opponent. Julie and Alex immediately opted out. "I like my head un-concussioned, thank you," she said, and Alex agreed.

Carrie versus Reggie ended in disaster, mostly because she lost her balance trying to ride sidesaddle and his lance hit the ground and catapulted him off the horse, but at least they both came up laughing.

Willie volunteered to next, and while Alex noped out, Flynn was more than willing to take a turn.

The lance broke beautifully on Willie's shield, and he landed on his back so hard 'for a moment there I questioned my sexuality because that was really hot, Flynn'. Flynn of course beamed with pride.

"Fuck therapy," she declared, after they made sure Willie was fine (and still very gay). "I'm becoming a knight."

"Heck yeah!" Willie cheered. "Let's go buy you a sword!"

As they ran off together, Alex took a deep breath, letting it out in a sigh. "I blame you for this," he told Reggie, who seemed unperturbed. In fact, he looked rather excited of the idea of a pretty girl with a sword.

"Come on," she said, pulling Alex along. "Before they buy a crossbow as well."

I will admit, there is something special about Młynar’s flavor of pathetic. Being the head of a noble house while also being a spineless dickless little man who is interrupted from his discussions about what is right for the Nearl family by phone calls that make him start groveling to his boss in front of everyone is a very good concept. The jump from “Maria you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into and you’ll only embarrass the Nearl name further” immediately to “yes of course sir, right away sir, it won’t happen again sir I swear to yo- yes, yes sir I’ll get it taken care of, I’m sorry sir” is extremely funny.

Basically what I’m saying is that if Młynar was a woman I would probably love him

As many as I can, yep! They deserve all of the credit for creating such amazing and awesome characters and I feel as if it would be an injustice for me not to.

After all, it's not just me that created the Dustverse (though I may be writing it)- it was the Dust lovers/havers community, and I think there's something quite awesome in that

So yeah, I will! Just gotta collect all of the names and put up an updated version of the Dustverse Names list

Do you ever think how Sebek is 16. And how Malleus and Lilia have said that 16 is the age of a newborn (fae). But Sebek looks like hes (more than, honestly) 16 in human years. So it's not hard to asume that he inherited the human lifespan, which makes his disdain of humans and his dad more explainable, and mostly about hating his own weaknesses. So Silver AND Sebek have to suffer :) Lilia and Malleus will outlive them. Sebek's mom and even grandpa will outlive them. And what impact they had on the lives of the people they love most, amounts timewise to the same as a dog to a human if not less.
