First Date (in Disguise)
oOOo
Jajdjjdd ok let me introduce my headcanon Adrien!! Considering this precious kitten doesn't have social norms and in the model industry (along with being classic literature fan, anime + manga weeb, and one childhood friend who would definitely play dress up/cosplay with Adrien since they were little); social gender norms doesn't make sense to him. AND, thanks to Felix and Chloe, Adrien already has a habit running away from home in disguises (and gave himself a different name to be called).
So... yes, he wears make-up and pretty/cute clothes that's normally for girls. Which, I'm starting to realize Adrien may be nonbinary than fully cis σ( ̄∇ ̄;). Oh well!! ┐(´∀`)┌ He/Them!Adrien rights!!!
Oh yeah, because of this, I definitely could see Adrien having to wear more prettier clothes as free advirtisement, but also so he could quickly on ready for photo shoots. [Really, Gabes is the worst exploiting this innocent sunshine/moonlight (# ̄З ̄)]
Anyways!!! This is Lukadrien's first date out in the open instead of in Luka's room.
Don't know if I did a good job of this ajdjkdkd (//∇//);;. I'm not great with fashion but I try. Hope you all like this!!
Until next time!! (* ̄∇ ̄)ノ💜

Lucky Charm: Reflekdoll
Summary: Adrien struggles to adapt to his powers as Mister Bug while facing an old villain with a new trick. Will he be able to learn fast enough to save his partner?
----------------------------------
"Reflektas, start turning the rest of Paris into me!"
Adrien hid behind the overturned car as Reflekta's clones started attacking untransformed civilians. Apparently, Reflekdoll broadcast a signal that brainwashed any copies. "That's new."
"You are Chat Noir, correct?"
Turning, he spotted a red kwami holding a pair of earrings. "Yeah? And that over there is... Ladybug?" Adrien asked as someone who could only be his Lady launched herself at the giant sentimonster. The suit may have been different but the cat ears were a dead giveaway.
"There's been a little mix up with the Miraculous. I'm Tikki, pleased to meet you!" Tikki offered Adrien the earrings which he accepted.
"Well! Tikki, transforme-moi!"
-----------------
Marinette dodged blast after blast from Reflekdoll.
"Well, my Lady Noire, looks like you're playing the easy part today!"
Lady Noire looked over to see who could only be Chat Noir with her Miraculous. "Not so sure about that!" Placing herself in front of him Lady Noir whirled her staff as a shield, blocking Reflekdoll's beam. "Looks like we'll be taking on two opponents that amplify each other's powers!"
They jumped onto the top of a nearby stone pillar as Reflekdoll attacked again.
"Stay focused, Mister Bug!"
Mister Bug took his yo-yo out and whirled it like he'd seen Ladybug do countless times. "Just my luck. I'm gonna have to capture two akuma instead of one."
"No, one akuma and one amok," Lady Noire corrected.
Reflekta fired her beam into one of the ports onboard. The magic layered by Reflekdoll before it shot a concentrated beam. Mister Bug acted on instinct and tackled Lady Noire out of the way. They rolled to their feet and charged up Reflekdoll as Lady Noire explained what a sentimonster was.
"Would've been nice to know what the Peacock could do before their sentimonsters started showing up!" Mister Bug commented as he launched a kick at said sentimonster to little effect.
"It was on a need-to-know basis!" Lady Noire swung her staff into the sentimonster with similar results.
"I really need to talk with the Guardian about what he considers 'need-to-know'!" Mister Bug leapt back towards the ground with Lady Noire. "Okay, so we need to find Reflekta's akumatized object and the baby monster's amok."
Lady Noire deflected another beam from Reflekdoll. "Can you manage or should we switch back?"
"C'mon! I'm totally capable of doin' it!" Mister Bug smirked.
Lady Noire pulled him out of the way of Reflekdoll's beam and they ran towards the Eiffel Tower. "We need to figure out where the akuma and amok are!"
"Probably the same place as the last time we fought her. In her bracelet!"
They jumped onto the tower itself and used the iron structure to shield themselves. "Maybe. We're gonna have to check that!"
"If I could just get my hands on a mirror I'd be able to reflect her own beam back at her!"
Landing on the first level, Lady Noire turned to look at Mister Bug. "That's not how it works." She crossed her arms. "The Lucky Charm doesn't just give you what you want."
"You ever asked? Watch and learn!" Mister Bug grinned. "Lucky Charm!"
"A mirror!" Oh, Adrien was gonna lord this over her so much!
"Beginners luck," Lady Noire declared. Chat Noir was gonna be insufferable about this she could feel it.
"You're just jealous of my mastery!" Mister Bug teased.
A loud banging interrupted them and they looked down to see Reflekdoll climbing the tower. Reflekta steering with one hand and shooting her much smaller lasers through the window eyes with the other.
Mister Bug held out his mirror and reflected one of them back at her. Bullseye!
Reflekdoll shot at them with its big beam.
"Very effective, Mister Bug."
"Hey, it worked didn't it?"
Lady Noire sighed in exasperation. "May I remind you that the Lucky Charm doesn't just give you an object to defeat the villain with-"
"I thought that's exactly what it does?"
"You actually have to figure out exactly how to use it!" Lady Noire poked him in the forehead. "Using your head!"
Reflekdoll reached there level and started firing. Mister Bug jumping for cover while Lady Noire blocked its attack with her staff. "Since you wasted your Lucky Charm. I guess that means it's my turn, buggaboy! Watch and learn! Cataclysm!"
Lady Noire leapt at the sentimonster and-
Her body was pulled out of the way of Reflekdoll's beam just in time. Mister Bug unwinding his yo-yo none too gently. "What was that about using your head? May I remind you that Cataclysm needs a physical medium to work properly! If that sentimonster is made outa magic I doubt it'll do what you want!"
Lady Noire held the Cataclysm as close as she could without actually touching it. "Well, what do you suggest?"
Mister Bug pulled her out of the way of another beam. "Uh... I... Knock her back to ground level while I come up with something?" Adrien smiled with the most conviction he could muster.
Lady Noire groaned. "Think fast!" And rushed out. Dodging Reflekdoll's attack she extended her baton and struck the sentimonster with her full momentum. Reflekdoll crashing back down to earth.
Taking advantage of Lady Noire's distraction Mister Bug glanced around from his high vantage point. Trying to spot anything that would spark an epiphany like Ladybug. "Okay, I admit it!" he cried out, shoulders slumping, "Being Chat Noir is way more fun."
Lady Noire leapt around the sentimonster and struck at its body. The Black Cat giving her a bit more agility than she was used to. Very handy.
Mister Bug added a swing of his yo-yo to one of her attacks. Reflekdoll stumbling with their combined force.
Lady Noire landed beside him. "What have you got?"
"Ah," Mister Bug rubbed the back of his neck. "About that..."
She stared at him. "Seriously!?"
"Well, I'm sorry! Some of us are just slow learn-"
"LOOK OUT!"
Lady Noire didn't think. She just acted. Mister Bug was the only one who could purify the akuma and he needed to keep going. She pushed Mister Bug out of the way as one of Reflekta's clones attacked... Just as Reflekdoll fired its beam.
"My Lady!" Mister Bug cried out.
Lady Noire stood immobile as a Reflekta copy.
"Yes! Now get bug boy's Miraculous!" The original Reflekta ordered.
Springing to life, the Reflekta that used to be Lady Noire aimed her bracelet and fired.
Mister Bug whirled his yo-yo as a shield and leapt to the nearest roof.
"You won't get away from me!" Reflekta called after him as he fled for cover.
-----------------
Adrien leaned against the wall of his hiding place. Breathing deeply, heart hammering in his chest. "Okay. It's okay. Ladybug does this all the time! What would Ladybug do? What would Ladybug do?"
The Ladybug earrings beeped insistently.
"This is fine!" Adrien announced as he detransformed.
Tikki falling into Adrien's palms as he fell to his knees.
"This isn't fine! Tikki, I can't do this! I'm no Ladybug! We should've switched back when she said! I-" Adrien's chest constricted and he forced his breath to slow.
"She trusted you enough to keep going," Tikki said weakly.
Her state bringing Adrien out of his head. "You need food."
Tikki hovered closer to his face, looking him in the eye. "No two of my Ladybug's have ever been exactly alike. Some are slower learners than others. I trust you, too."
Adrien looked away, shoulders hunching. "But I messed up."
"Remember Stoneheart?" Tikki prompted. "Ma- Ladybug messed up too. But you still believed in her." She placed a paw on his cheek. "Believe in yourself now."
Adrien's gaze came back to her.
"Don't ask what Ladybug would do. Ask yourself: what would Adrien do?"
Steeling his resolve Adrien nodded, rising to his feet and cupping Tikki in his palms. "First things first," he inched closer to the alleyway's entrance. The overturned car with his stash of Camembert a short sprint away. "Let's get you recharged."
A gaggle of Reflekta clones chased a group of civilians past him. The people hit turning into more copies and standing still until the akuma villain's voice came booming over the city. The new clones springing to life so they could follow her orders.
They lit up in Adrien's mind and his head shot back to the sentimonster in the distance. Its beam lighting up too.
Adrien gazed down at Tikki and grinned. "I've got an idea."
-----------------
"Lucky Charm!"
A mirror fell into Mister Bug's hands. "Wow, twice in a row. Lucky me," Adrien deadpanned as he tied it to his arm like a shield using his yo-yo. The plan was a laughably simple two step process.
Step One: Get shot.
"Hey, Reflekta!" he hollered from a rooftop at convenient shooting hight. "Don't you know that pink frills are so last season?"
"Once I turn the whole world into Reflektas it'll be the only season!" She fired into Reflekdoll's port which concentrated her energy into a stronger blast.
Just as planned. Mister Bug braced his feet and held his Lucky Charm directly in front of him. "Here we go!"
The sentimonster fired.
Step Two: Shoot Reflekta with her own sentimonster's magic.
The beam reflected off Mister Bug's mirror and perfectly into the round eye windows. Blasting Reflekta dead center.
Adrien held his position for a moment, peaking past his makeshift shield. Reflekta and Reflekdoll stood still. Waiting for orders from... themselves. The enhanced magic dependent on the sentimonster and by extension whoever was driving it.
"Yes!" Mister Bug raised both fists. "Now just a little pest control and we can all get on with our day!"
Finding and purifying the akuma and amok was easy when he wasn't being shot at. Grabbing Juleka as the sentimonster vanished and setting her down on the ground.
Adrien looked at Mister Bug's reflection in his mirror... "I've always wanted to do this." And tossed his Lucky Charm into the air. "Miraculous Mister Bug!"
As the ladybug's restored Paris he spotted a familiar black suit. Adrien ran for her.
"Mister Bug? What- OOF!" Lady Noire stumbled as her partner barreled into her and tried to squeeze all the air out of her lungs. Once she could breathe Marinette wrapped her arms around him and patted his back. "You did good, little bug."
Adrien just held her for a moment. She was okay. He'd saved her. She was okay.
Then his earrings beeped.
Breaking the hug, Mister Bug jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "Ah, we should split."
"Yeah..." Lady Noire readied to extend her baton. "... I think I finally get why you're so protective."
Mister Bug smiled. "And I get why you're so focused all the time."
He offered a fist bump and she accepted. Both heroes leaping in opposite directions.
-----------------
"Tikki!" Marinette cradled her friend to her chest.
"Marinette!"
"I can't believe how much Chat trusts me... Knowing you might have to do that again? I don't think I could handle it."
"He's your Chat Noir for a reason, Marinette," Tikki agreed.
-----------------
"Fighting by yourself is horrible, Plagg! I don't know how Ladybug does it." Adrien held him tight. Deciding never to let his Miraculous out of his sight again.
"She's got you most of the time, doesn't she? You're supposed to support each other, ain't ya?"
"Yeah. You're right..."
-----------------
"... Well, one things for sure, Tikki." Marinette gazed off in the direction Plagg flew towards.
-----------------
"She definitely-"
-----------------
"He definitely-"
-----------------
"-got the short straw."
----------------------------------
Yes, this is technically the last prompt... But it's already written and I'm impatient.

#LadynoirJuly Days 4 and 5
To avoid being too late on the prompts, I’m just going to combine some of them from now on! Hope the banter is satisfactory, I wasn’t quite sure I was doing it right... Enjoy! xxx

Days 4 and 5: Disguises and Banter
Ladybug waited outside the hospital, comfortably swaying in her long red and black dress. She was pretty satisfied with the design; she thought she’d nailed the elaborate XVIIIth century style, complete with small train, frills, ribbons and slightly puffy sleeves. The rich damask cloth, combined with the petticoat, kept her warm in the crisp October night air. It was going to be a cold winter.
Shrill sirens echoed from nearby streets, bringing her back to the matter at hand. She tried to ignore their meaning as she checked her Miracuphone for a sign of her partner. Out of all the days he could've chosen to be late, this one was possibly the worst. The children in the hospital weren't expecting the two Paris Heroes (they'd made sure to keep their visit under wraps to surprise them), but they were definitely waiting for their Halloween treats. And she wasn't going to disappoint them on that front.
As she was about to head inside, anxious to get to her mission, Chat Noir casually walked around the corner. In the semi-darkness of the street, she thought at first that he hadn't dressed up, but then she noticed his bandana and his large black shirt, taken in at the waist by his belt, from which his baton hung like a sword.
"'Evening, m'lady." He bowed as he approached. "Your nickname is particularly fitting tonight, may I presume I was a source of inspiration?" He quipped as he took in the majesty of her dress. As a designer's son, he could appreciate how much work must have gone into the gown, not to mention its accompanying feathered hairdo.
"Don't worry, they're not real. Wouldn’t want you to sneeze all over a bunch of kids, would we Chaton?" She smirked as she caught him looking apprehensively at her hair accessories. "Also, I like your costume, Westley, but couldn't you have gone for something a little more… original?" She asked. Not that it wasn't a good costume; she did very much like the Princess Bride and its hero. She also appreciated how handsome her partner looked with a more rugged look.
"Sorry, Bugaboo, it's been a busy week." He shrugged apologetically. "Also, I thought we were making our own costumes, sans the help of actual designers. I would've asked Marinette too, otherwise." He said pointedly, indicating the designer's embroidered logo at the bottom of the skirt.
Ladybug swore internally, while noting how much her partner paid attention to detail. She'd absentmindedly signed her work on her sketch, and forgotten to remove the gold stitching when she made it. She'd realised it a minute before leaving, and had counted on its discretion rather than risking being late. Oh well, as long as Chat believed she'd hired Marinette…
Chat continued his rant. "Plus you have it easy, as a woman. You can just slip on a dress to cover your costume! How am I supposed to cover all this leather, even a kilt wouldn't do." He pouted.
"What about a cape?" She winked at him as she slung her arm in his, directing him towards the hospital entrance.
"But Edna said no capes!" He gasped as they walked in, enjoying their proximity and giddy at the thought that she'd initiated it, for once.
She rolled her eyes and shook her head in response, the small smile tugging at her lips giving her amusement away.
She reluctantly (because it was slightly cold in the hall, of course) let go of Chat's arm as they approached the main desk and greeted the receptionist. Although the latter tried to keep a straight face, she could tell he was torn between surprise, internal fangirling (she wondered if there was a more gender neutral term for it) and a detached attitude.
"Good evening sir," she smiled warmly. "I believe you have something for us." She looked behind him and pointed at the large hand trolley, on which were piled Tom and Sabine cake boxes. It wasn’t necessarily very traditional for Halloween, but then again, it wasn’t a very celebrated holiday in France, and she doubted the children had access to pastries very often.
It had been weird casually striding into her parents’ bakery as Ladybug and pretending to not know very much about their products, when she knew exactly what she wanted. She’d ordered enough to cover the sugar needs of all the Paris hospitals, complete with diet restrictions, so when Sabine had told her the order was on the house, she’d almost slammed all her money in the tip jar anyway. The way her Mum had looked at her then reminded her of when she talked back sometimes, and she knew better than to open that door. She had respectfully backed down on the payment front, but had been particularly zealous in the kitchen as Marinette to compensate. Marinette had also insisted on delivering the order straight to the hospital earlier in the afternoon, despite her parents’ reservations at the idea. It was the least she could do.
“Oh yes, of course! Let me bring it out for you.” The lad almost tripped as he stood up, but thankfully didn’t crash on the trolley. That would have been awkward. As he wheeled out the bounty, Ladybug noticed how hungry Chat’s eyes looked as he followed the movement of the food. She smiled lovingly and leaned towards his ear.
“Don’t worry, I saved you some.” She whispered, and he shuddered in delight at the thought of Tom and Sabine’s passionfruit macarons, chouquettes and croissants.
“You sure know how to get to a man’s heart, m’lady.”
“By getting to his stomach first?” She asked cheekily.
They were interrupted by the receptionist clearing his throat, uncomfortably wringing his hands as he waited by the lift with the goods. Ladybug jumped away from her partner and made her way towards him, Chat hot on her heels.
“Thank you so much…” She trailed, waiting for the man to give his name.
“Patrick.” He completed, grinning. Ladybug knew his name, now.
“Thank you, Patrick.” She smiled.
The heroes took their leave and ascended to the children’s ward. When the lift doors opened, they were greeted by a group of pirates, princes, princesses, witches, wizards, and even Miraculous impersonators, little treat bags at the ready as they waited with nurses in what Ladybug assumed was the ward’s lounge. The kids gasped and cheered as they walked out.
“Trick or treat!” Chat called out, earning himself a round of giddy laughter. Giving each other an understood glance, Chat and Ladybug separated into the small crowd, each going to one side of the room.
“You look like a princess!” A little Rena Rouge fan in an arm cast squeaked as Ladybug approached her.
“Thank you, Rena! But what happened to your arm? How will we fight the Akuma without your help?” Ladybug asked with her best shocked expression.
The little girl giggled in response, which made Marinette smile. She gave her some pastries “to help her recover quickly”, and went to join Chat. Her partner was having a pretend sword fight with a pirate. He was surprisingly good with children, she noticed. And he looked great laughing as he parried an attack. Did he fence, like Adrien? Maybe she could ask him to give her lessons. Not to spend more time with him, and definitely not to see him in a fencing uniform, which she had to admit would be particularly fitting on his muscled figure. It could just… prove to be handy if they ever swapped Miraculouses again.
She felt a small tug at her skirt, originating from the hand of a ten year-old boy wearing a Ladybug costume, sitting in a wheelchair.
“Hello there, Bugaboy!” She squatted down to be at eye level with him, her skirt sprawling out in a corolla at her feet. Some children bent down to touch the elaborate fabric. “What’s your name?”
“I can’t reveal my identity, or the Guardian will take my Miraculous away.” The boy grinned as she handed him a macaron.
“And you dare tell me you don’t say it that often.” Chat leaned on the back of a nearby chair, smirking. “Well done young man, you’ve done your research.” He winked at the kid.
Ladybug shook her head, refraining from saying that he was the one preventing them from knowing who was behind the mask now. She couldn’t say it out loud, there was some press around to record their visit, and even when they did sit down and talk about their identities, it would be best if the general public was kept in the dark about that knowledge for as long as possible.
“I want to be Ladybug when I grow up.” Mini Bug said proudly.
“You’d put me out of a job?” Ladybug said with a fake pained expression.
“Not if you don’t want to!” The boy’s eyes went wide at the thought he might have offended his favourite superhero. “I just assumed you’d want to rest in the future. It must be very tiring to battle against Hawkmoth all the time.”
“He’s got a point there, Bugaboo.” Chat acquiesced. “She won’t listen to me when I tell her she also deserves some time off.” He fake whispered in the boy’s direction.
“That’s because you always want it to be time off for you too!” She scoffed. “You’re always inviting me for ice creams or movie dates at the same time, how am I to relax knowing nobody competent is watching over the city?”
Chat’s heart sung at the compliment. “If that’s the only thing keeping you from going out with me, I’m sure I can find a solution, m’lady. You know, Rena and Carapace would certainly do a grand job.” He tried to keep a detached demeanor, but knowing he was so close to her accepting to go on a date with him was making his heart go haywire.
She pouted pensively, twirling a strand of hair that had fallen out of her hairdo, then shrugged. “As you wish, farmboy.”
Her heart skipped a beat as she waited for his answer. It felt like time had slowed. Was this too soon? “Kelly” had only been out of the picture for about a month now. Was it enough time to get over someone?
A stolen glance at him answered her question. Looking at him, she could tell Chat was repressing a smile. His eyes twinkled as he looked at her like protagonists look at each other in romantic comedies. The way everyone should be looked at at least once in their life. He gave a nod in the direction of the room, reminding her they were not alone. She nodded back, their brief exchange imperceptible for common mortals.
If the warm hug and lingering kiss he left on her cheek as they parted after remaining a little longer with the kids were any indication, she knew she’d said the right thing. Although it could have also been credited to the bag of pastries she’d handed him a minute before.

So this is loosely inspired by this song. It’s a really good song as is the show it’s from and I would def recommend listening to the entire soundtrack if you’re into it. There is a death but it’s not really depicted, it’s softly mentioned so please be careful reading this, especially if it’s upsetting for you. Love y’all!
“I need everyone to meet up tonight. We’re finally going to take him down.”
Alya stood in her room. Pink and frills and organized chaos. The planner for the class was still open on her desk. She had brown paper working out a pattern still pinned to a dress form in the corner.
It felt wrong to be there. Especially powered up. But they had decided that this would be their last appearance. She could still hear their conversations about homework and celebrity gossip.
Viperion came in. She jumped when he did. He was bobbing his head like he was listening to a song, but the pain was clear on his face. He would jerk suddenly or shake his head and start bobbing it again.
“So here’s the plan.” Ladybug had said. “Me and Chat found his hideout. The next time there’s an akuma attack, Rena and Viperion, you two are going to go to the coordinates saved to your communicators. Queen and Carapace, you’ll be backup for them. Ryuuko, you’ll be fighting with me and Chat. We’ll all come in once the akuma is gone.” She looked at Rena and Viperion when she said that. “Until then, you need to distract him.”
Ryuuko landed gracefully when she came in. She was quiet, her face was stoic and controlled. She stood next to the vanity with the basin and mirror. Alya’s heart broke when she realized that the two of them, her and Ryuuko, could almost have the same color hair in certain lights.
Carapace came in next, and went to stand with Alya. How long had she been sitting there? When did she sit down? How long...?
Queen Bee came in at some point. “I don’t think he’s coming in here for a few minutes.”
“Understandable. He was her partner for years.” Someone - Viperion? - said. Alya wanted to throw up.
Her illusions kept him busy. With Viperion there they had Hawkmoth running in circles. They had guessed it was M. Agreste, and that paid off when he went running after ‘Adrien’ just outside of his lair. She had made multiple illusions of herself for him to chase. Their training allowing for a longer time before recharge needed.
She didn’t see Ladybug’s signal. She was focusing on her illusions and Hawkmoth. She should have been paying attention.
“It’s my fault.” She whispers. She wanted to run. To crawl out of her skin and hide for a thousand years. She curls in on herself and keeps muttering that phrase.
“Don’t do that to yourself.” Chat Noir says. She knows it’s him. His voice sounded like he’d been crying. A lot. She couldn’t blame him.
“But-”
“When she commits to a plan, it is calculated to obscurity, and there’s no turning back. She knew what she was doing.” His voice wavered, but was definite.
One of her illusions. She tried to grab an illusion. Alya was too far. Everyone was. They wouldn’t get there in time. She still tried. She tried.
“This isn’t going to bring her back Alya.” Queen said. No one said anything. “Oh come one. We’re all mourning her like she’s a closer friend than she should be with how much time we’ve actually spent together. You and Chat harder than the rest of us. Him I get, but you? You were the last one to become official.”
Her parents took the news hard. Chat Noir told them. They were all in the hallway. They got her to a hospital before she...
She looked around the room. How many study sessions and hang outs had they had in here? How many meetings and training sessions did the team do? This room was a tomb and she was suffocating.
The bakery had closed, black curtains hanging over the windows. It had been sunny and warm since it happened. They all got a call from Chat Noir to meet there.
“So now what?” Carapace asked. No one said anything.
“I need them back.” Chat Noir finally said.
Everyone hesitated.
Ryuuko was the first one to do anything. She detransformed. She gave a small bow of her head to her kwami, who bowed in return, before taking off her choker, and giving it to Chat Noir. She went to sit down on the rug. Viperion followed suit. She shouldn’t have been surprised to see Luka.
Queen Bee was having a staring contest with Chat Noir, but eventually detransformed and said goodbye to her kwami. Nino detransformed at some point, and tried to coax Alya to do the same.
“No! I won’t say goodbye!”
“Alya-” Chloe tries to talk to her.
“I won’t let go of her!” She was sobbing.
“That’s not what you’re doing. We’re finishing her work.” Chat Noir told her. “She was trying to get all of the miraculous back into their proper place. After tonight, there will be no more miraculouses out.”
She couldn’t. She had to hold on to this. If she let go of this, then it would be the same as not trying. She had to try.
The funeral had pink carnations instead of roses. She thought the ways the petals fold together would look pretty as a skirt if she could figure out the mechanics.
She saw Adrien there. His bodyguard about a meter behind him. They were the furthest back in the group. Everything both hurt and was numb at the same time.
“Alya, this isn’t forgetting her, or having her life mean nothing. We’re finishing the one thing that she promised someone else with her life.” Chat Noir pleaded.
It hurt. It hurt too much.
She let Nino take off her necklace. She felt Trixx nudge against her cheek.
She heard the others talk.
She heard them leave one by one.
She heard Nino say something to Chat Noir.
She heard Nino say something.
She heard Nino leave.
She pulled out her phone and looked at her messages from Marinette. She stared at it, hoping the text bubble would show up.
She kept staring.

Missing You ( Kana Nishino)
Legend of the Mermaid ( Mermaid Melody, AmaLee version)
More will be added eventually
Traits: Since she's a mermaid, they are quite smart and know all the land languages. She speaks mermaid, however, can speak every other language.
She’s great at making things as well as designing things, She’s a fast learner which is great since there’s a lot for her to learn on Land.
She met Adrien when she was 8 years old by a lagoon ( maybe)
She met Adrien after she saves him(too cliche)
Adrian: Age 21
Panthalassa ( Meaning “All Sea” in Greek) origin
Adrian and Felix are twin boys that were born on the day of the Great Sea War. Out of desperation to keep the bloodline and power of the Panthalassa alive, the people of the Panthalassa gave their remaining strength to the twin boys, giving them the power, as long as they were united, to destroy the world and everything on it. When the Aqua Regina found out, she separated the boys and their powers. Felix held the power of Darkness and was locked away in the Panthalassa castle, while his younger brother was given the power of light and was washed up on the shore, where Emile and Gabriel raised him. Both his parents died due to Bridgette unlocking Felix, which caused a horrible storm.
Adrian has no idea about where he comes from ( He finds a letter from his parents explaining he’s adopted, shortly after their death) but suffers from, what he thinks are “nightmares”, when in actuality he is seeing things from Felix’s perspective. Adrian has the power of light and will often faint when he overexerts himself. He uses his powers often to save Marion (Marinette) from danger. His personality is a mixture of chat noir and his normal personality in the show, however, due to him feeling lied to by his parents and having lost them, he does have some destructive behavior. Adrian has a tendency to drink and party hard. He can be quiet flirtatious and cheeky, but at the same time, he can be an ass at times due to his hurting in the inside. Like his brother, Adrian feels alone in the world, however, he prefers to suffer alone about it. It would be interesting to write him this way. Adrian wears different outfits every day and is very well off due to inheriting all of his parent’s assets. Since his parents died out in the sea he has developed a hate for it, though this is only apparent when drunk. Before his parent’s death, he would often play by the beach by the summer house his parents owned, which is where he met Marion (Marinette). He heard her singing one day and since that day they played every day until his parent’s death. After his parents died and since they were extremely famous, Adrian left France to live in the summer house in order to never be found by the press. This story takes place in a distant town that is completely made up that is on a remote island by France. Adrian doesn’t talk much about his parents and is very protective of his past. He was 8 years old when he met Marion and thought he had made her up but one night when he was walking by the beach he heard her singing, that’s when they were reunited again. Before Marion / Marinette showed up again, Adrian has an on and off-again relationship with Kagami.
Felix: Age 22
Panthalassa Clan
Felix was cursed with the powers of darkness, which made him get the shorthand of the stick, in terms of fate. He was cursed to live all alone, having only the deep-sea animals around him as companions. He wears a black Victorian style dress shirt, black leather pants, as well as black pointy shoes. His hair is like PV Chat Noir trailer, wild and untamed. He talks softly only to Bridgette and is very impatient, in regards to his servants. He met Bridgette when he was just a small boy and would dream visit her. At first, he thought Bridgette was a figment of his imagination, but later figured out she was real. They were linked due to their lonely hearts and found comfort in each other. He loves Bridgette and would do anything to make her happy, which is why he is trying to capture all the mermaid princesses and his twin brother in order for them to be together. Felix’s biggest fear is to lose Bridgette. They have a very physical relationship.
Bridgette: Age 20
Once the kind and caring indigo princess, Bridgette now lives in the dark. She has a cold exterior when talking to anyone who isn’t Felix. Her hair that was once Periwinkle, has now turned completely black, while her eyes remain blue. She wears a long black strapless silk dress and covers her hair with a black cloth making it hard to see her face at times. Felix is the only one that knows she’s in the castle, keeping the sea demons in the dark of her presence. She cares deeply for Felix and very much loves him. She turned her back on her kingdom when she stole the key that locked away Felix in his castle and released him. They have a very physical relationship. She betrayed her kingdom when she found out the sad fate that Felix had to live. At a young age, she would have constant dreams about Felix, thinking they were just part of her imagination. Bridgette has always felt lonely in life due to her kingdom keeping her locked away from others. She felt suffocated in her own kingdom, finding peace with Felix. Wanting to give him the freedom he deserved and the chance to be together, Bridgette stole the Panthalassa key and freed him. Her hopes are to capture the other princesses and find Felix’s brother in order for them to rule the world together.
Alya: Age 21
In Slavonic, "Alya" means "beautiful" or "scarlet", possibly a reference to her red-brown hair. In Arabic, "Alya" means "sky," "heaven", or "loftiness".
She is the Princess of the Indian Ocean and the holder of the orange pearl. She is the only Princess to use her Ocean name on Land. Alya’s kingdom was attacked before Marinette, therefore she has been on land for a while.On land, Alya has her original hair color and length ( wavy reddish-brown Ombre hair). When she is in her mermaid form her hair is much longer and thicker and is tied into a high ponytail with an orange pearl covered scrunchies. She wears an orange-gold pearl headband crown, a treasure in the Indian Ocean Kingdom. Her hair turns into a red-orange, while her eyes turn from hazel to pale orange-yellow (Apricot). In her mermaid form, her tail is orange. Wrapped around the end of her tail are gold bangles. She wears an orange choker which is connected to a sheer orange shawl that stops midriff and parts in the middle of her chest. Like Marinette, she wears a bracelet around her upper right arm, expect its pumpkin color. She wears a vivid red-orange ( Coral) seashell bra and of course her princess orange shell pendant. In her idol form, she wears something that can only be described as a belly dancing outfit similar to Princess Jazmin. Alaya’s crown now has a sheer orange veil that covers her now loose red-orange hair. She wears a strong orange (orange peel color ) off-shoulder short sleeve crop top. The crop top is decorated with different shades of orange beads. Alya also wears a simple orange pearl belly chain.She wears sheer orange harem pants with an orange-yellow high street lace-up gladiator styled sandals that are tied onto the pants. She has an orange studded nose piercing and wears orange bangles on both her wrist. She also holds a white and blue microphone that holds her pearl as well.
When it comes to her songs for some reason I really was living for Alya having a style like Doja Cat in Say So. I don’t know why I went for that but honestly, it felt like it fir her. I would love to give her an Arabic song to sing as her mains song but I need help for that.
The songs I have her singing in the story so far:
Say So
Plastic Love Cover by Caitlin Myers
Tikki owns a club where Alya performs under the name “Rena Rouge”. She dances and sings. I picture her being very flirtatious and alluring, which is a trait all mermaids have. She’s a vixen when performing at the club. It’s at the club that she meets Nino. Alya plays hard to get, making sure to tease Nino until he begs for more.

Red: ch. 14 Scarlet
this is cross posted on Ao3 (my username is causemufins)
Chloé needs to fight Marinette as a new ladybug.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chloé quickly put in the ladybug earrings. They felt different than the copies she sometimes wore, almost like there was a slight tingle of electricity flowing between them and her skin.
Looking up, the blonde saw Tikki phase through the nearby wall of the closet Chloé was hiding in knowing she would be transforming soon. “Alright, so I know it’s buzz on for the bee miraculous but what is it for you?”
“You need to say spots on. I believe you know the rest.”
“Yeah. Lucky Charm for the object, catch the akuma in the yo-yo, Miraculous Ladybug for changing everything back, right?”
Tikki nodded before Chloe said the transformation phrase. Moments later, she had become the new ladybug hero and burst out of the closet to get to the classroom. She quickly made her way into where the other students were, seeing them in a panic, and she started to look around for the akuma. No one was akumatized just yet, so getting the butterfly now would be useful. The problem was, she couldn’t see it.
“Ladybug! We saw an- wait, you’re not Ladybug.” Nino was the first to approach Chloé. “Where’s Ladybug and who are you?”
Chloé kept looking around the room as she replied. “Ladybug isn’t available. She gave me the earrings to be a temporary holder. I haven’t figured out the name yet because right now we have other things to deal with.”
Then she saw it. The black butterfly was moving towards the side of the class where Lila was. Chloé wasn’t going to let that girl get akumatized again, so she quickly grabbed her yo-yo. Unfortunately Lila noticed the akuma at the same time and reached to grab it. Chloé watched in horror as everything seemed to slow down. Lila’s hand went towards the butterfly. Alya saw too and went to stop Lila but was too far away. Lila’s hand was right around the butterfly and… she just barely missed and the akuma went through the wall of the classroom.
Alya, Lila and Chloé both stared at the wall. Alya was the first to realize what that meant and immediately shouted the answer. “It’s going for Marinette!”
The entire class looked over at Alya as Chloé ran out of the room at the same time. She had to get there before the butterfly did. Unfortunately, while it could go through whatever it pleased, Chloé had to go around any walls and such. Because of that, she ended up getting to Marinette just as it went into purse.
Chloé couldn’t help but shout as the butterfly symbol appeared around Marinette’s face. “Marinette! Fight it! I know you can!”
With both Chloé and Jagged Stone there, Marinette was doing her best to ignore Hawkmoth, but it was still hard. Chloé may have been able to fight off Hawkmoth to the point it impressed others, but her feelings weren’t the same as everyone else’s. Marinette had been suffering longer so her negative emotions were stronger.
Chloé stared a bit longer at Marinette before shaking her head to clear her mind. Marinette was fighting it so she could break the purse now. Quickly she rushed to the designer’s side and pulled away her purse before tearing it apart. Or at least she tried. Chloé could tell the transformation made her stronger, definitely strong enough that she should be able to destroy the purse, but it wasn’t breaking. Then out of nowhere, Marinette yanked the purse back before transforming, causing Chloé to jump back.
Marinette’s skin became a powder pink color. The sclera of her eye changed from white to a bright hot pink with her irises becoming a dark indigo color. A black mask appeared on her face and her pigtails had grown much longer with hot pink bows replacing her red hair ties. She wore a short pink dress that was deep raspberry color with accents of black and hot pink. Under the skirt were light pink ruffles in multiple layers, making the skirt poof out. Around her waist was a black corset with hot pink ribbons crossing in the front making a small bow near the top. Her shoes seemed to be high heels that were black that seemed to move into a full body suit under the dress that extended to her arms and into a fingerless glove style. Her purse had grows to quadruple its normal size and was the same raspberry color of the dress with light pink frills and a black strap.
“Marinette…” Chloé said sadly. Before she had started to turn around and try to be nicer, there were times where she was nervous about Marinette becoming an akuma. Chloé had had a number of akumatized people come after her, but Marinette would have had negative feelings that were piled up over the years. Now it was finally here, and surprisingly she wasn’t the target. Well, as the new Ladybug she was, but the true target was the rest of the class.
“My name is Needle Point. You and I don’t have to fight if you give me your miraculous now. Being new, you’ll be at a disadvantage.”
Chloé shook her head. “I may not be Ladybug, but I’m going to stop you. Because… I’m Scarlet Lady! And it’s my job!”
Needle Point scoffed and reached into her bag, pulling out a giant needle that shouldn’t have actually fit inside, and then wielding it like a sword. “Have it your way!” The needle slashed down, but Scarlet was pulled out of the way.
“Wait, you’re not Ladybug.” Chat Noir looked at Scarlet in confusion. “Where is she?”
Scarlet pushed Chat away. “I’m Scarlet Lady. I’m filling in for Ladybug because she’s… unavailable.”
Chat pouted, making Scarlet shove him over. “Look, I’ve never been a supporter of you and Ladybug getting together. Honestly, I think she deserves better than a mangy cat like you. But like it or not, you have been working together since the beginning so I need your help.”
“Alright then. Can I call you Scar?” Chat asked, getting up and brushing himself off.
“Fine, whatever. At least I’m not permanent. So how does this normally work?”
Chat put a hand to his chin. “Well technically we just need the lucky charm to help us get to the akumatized object and break it, but getting to a point where we’re able to use it is the trick. Normally there’s civilians nearby or they’re not in the right place or sometimes we don’t have everything we need. I mean, the lucky charm is only part of the solution.”
Scarlet nodded. “Alright. Well what I know is Marinette is the one akumatized. I believe you know her?”
“Oh no! My purrincess has been akumatized?” Chat lamented.
“Yes, and my best bet for who she’s after are Lila Rossi and possibly Adrien Agreste.”
“What?” Chat Noir gave Scarlett a confused look. “I know about Lila Rossi and her lies, but why Adrien?”
“Well he- at least I heard that Adrien has known about Lila’s lies and has done nothing to help Marinette.”
“Well the lies weren’t hurting anyone, were they?”
Scarlet’s jaw dropped and she stared at Chat Noir before slapping him. “You idiot! Not hurting anyone? First of all, lies can hurt a whole hell of a lot. Small ones, maybe, but when it leads to someone getting bullied? Of course it’s hurting them! Second of all, Marinette is akumatized right now! Lila’s lies caused this! Even if the lies didn’t do any physical harm, think of the emotional harm that happens when even your closest friends believe a liar over you! Especially when we have a villain that specifically goes after negative emotions!”
Chat Noir opened his mouth to speak, but there was suddenly a sound of something whizzing through the air, leaving the two heroes only a moment to jump out of the way before multiple knitting needles impaled themselves in the wall.
Turning to the direction they came from, Scarlet and Chat saw Needle Point walking towards them. “You thought you could ignore me? Just like everyone else? Push me to the side like I’m unimportant? Even as a villain am I not worth the bother?!”
“No, we were actually discussing you. Chat here was the one who was dismissing you.” Scarlet replied with a gesture to the cat, who gave her a betrayed look.
“Lucky for you, that sounds about right.” Needle Point conceded before pulling out a large ball of yarn with a few normal sized needles in it, keeping the ball from unravelling but still with a long piece of yarn free from the ball. As she tied a loop at the end of the string, Scarlet recognized it as the akuma’s version of a makeshift yo-yo. She quickly used her own to hit the ball away as it was flung towards Chat Noir, likely to tie him up.
“Sorry Needle Point. I may hate him too, but I unfortunately need him. And apparently you need him too because of his miraculous. That makes me wonder, why are you helping Hawkmoth? Is he helping you?” Scarlet kept talking as Needle Point tried attacking. She may be Scarlet Lady now, but that didn’t mean she was experienced with using the powers. They weren’t quite the same as being Queen Bee. That meant she needed her natural skills, such as manipulation. It might not be as powerful as certain other people in the class, but it would hopefully be enough against Needle Point.
“I’m getting my revenge against my class! I told them again and again that Lila was lying, but they didn’t listen to me, they only finally listened to Jagged Stone and even then it wasn’t my idea to bring him here!”
Scarlet winced, knowing at least that last part was her fault. “So? If anything, they’ll be more upset at you now for helping Hawkmoth. You’re just making it worse!”
That made Needle Point pause. Scarlet’s comment made sense. Hawkmoth wasn’t helping. “Then… Then I’ll just take them for myself! You don’t deserve them anyway! I’ve helped everyone and they never repay me! I should have the power of the miraculous for myself!”
Scarlet mentally face palmed at how her idea had backfired. At least maybe not completely as a butterfly outline appeared around Needle Point’s face. Hawkmoth didn’t seem to like that his akuma wanted the miraculous for herself. As Needle talked with the villain, Scarlet grabbed Chat Noir’s arm and dragged him away. “Let’s round up her class so we can get them somewhere safe. Likely a few of them have already tried escaping, so we won’t have all of them, but the more we can find, the better, especially those few we saw.”
“Um, well, I think I saw Adrien escaping already.” Chat mentioned, causing Scarlet to curse.
“Of course. He is the kind of person who would want to avoid conflict at all costs.” Scarlet grumbled, not noticing Chat’s offended look. “You look for Lila then. I think I can round up the rest of the class. No, wait. Lila’s tricky. You deal with the class.”
Scarlet raced off, looking for the liar. It fortunately didn’t take long, though that was because Needle Point had her already and moving a needle towards the girl’s arm. Quickly Scarlet’s yo-yo knocked the needle away. “Lila may be a terrible person, but maybe that’s a little much Marinette.”
“It’s Needle Point, and she’s just getting what she deserves. But I can stop if you give me your miraculous.”
“None of the villains Hawkmoth has created has ever beaten Ladybug and Chat Noir.”
“But you’re not even Ladybug. Which means there’s more of a chance you’ll lose.”
Scarlet gritted her teeth. Needle Point was right. She was new to being… well her. However, Needle didn’t know that she had experience with Miraculouses before. She didn’t even see to know Scarlet was really Chloé and that she herself was usually Ladybug.
Scarlet at first wasn’t sure what more she could do, but then, looking at Lila, and idea struck her. “So, you hate Lila, but want to be on the same side as her?”
Needle Point seemed to be taken aback at that. “Of course not! I would never want to work with her!”
“So the fact that you’re working with Hawkmoth and she obviously works with him too doesn’t matter to you? I mean, she willingly went after the akuma that is now powering you up.”
Needle Point was stunned. Really? Her working with Lila? That couldn’t be true. “No! I would never work with him!” Came Lila’s voice, making the villain stare at her. Lila was a liar. That meant she really was working with him, right? That meant…
“NO! I refuse to work with her!” Needle Point shouted before throwing Lila across the room. The girl was caught by Chat accidently as he came into the room and happened to be standing in the area where Lila was thrown too.
“Huh, never thought I would end up cat-ching you.”
Lila scoffed and shoved away from Chat. Needle Point was upset at Chat for helping Lila, which didn’t help matters with him. Scarlet used the distraction to finally summon her Lucky Charm. A spotted purse that looked like Marinette’s standard purse minus the ladybug pattern. “Great… what do I do with this? Ladybug always knows so…” She looked around, nothing really standing out to her other than the purse itself. Scarlet noticed the clasp on the purse and opened it. Inside was a small sketchbook, a few pencils, a bracelet and a small doll of Tikki. She looked between the various items, a little overwhelmed with how many pieces there were. “The bracelet? The sketchbook? Which thing do I use?”
“Do you know what to do Scarlet?” Chat called as he dealt with Neele Point.
“I’m trying here!” Scared let yelled back, then she thought of something. “Hey Needle! Look at this.”
The villain looked over at Scarlet angrily then in horror as the hero started to tear the sketchbook up. “No! How dare you!” Needle Point started to move towards Scarlet but the hero wagged her finger. “Come closer and I break it faster.”
Needle Point didn’t seem to care and pounced at Scarlet, who jumped out of the way and finished tearing the sketchbook up. She quickly pulled out the pencils, snapping them in half. That caused Needle Point to become even angrier, but she froze as Scarlet pulled out the doll version of Tikki and tore the head off of the body. The villain kept staring, frozen in place, even as Chat Noir called for his cataclysm and destroyed the purse.
The purple and black energy from the akumatization dissipated from Needle Point as she changed back to Marinette. Quickly, Scarlet caught the butterfly and purified it. She then stuffed the broken items into the purse and was about to use it to activate the miraculous ladybugs, but she hadn’t used the bracelet. She stared at it for a moment before realizing Adrien had one like this as well. It was a sign of their friendship, though they didn’t really have it any more. But maybe it could be a different sign.
Scarlet went over and knelt on the ground next to Marinette. “Here. I believe I’ve seen you with one of these before.”
Marinette stared at the bracelet. “Yeah, but I don’t really want it. It isn’t important.” Scarlet could hear the unsaid ‘anymore’
“Well it can again. You need new friends. Take this to mean that I can be there for you.”
Marinette stared at Scarlet then took the bracelet. Scarlet then stood up and threw the rest of the lucky charm into the air, fixing all the damage, and unfortunately making Marinette’s piece of the lucky charm disappear. Next to Scarlet, Chat held his fist up, which Scarlet mirrored.
“Pound it. Nah doesn’t feel the same with you.” Chat commented. “Wait, you said you would be there for Marinette, but even though you didn’t say who you were she seemed to know. How does she-” He didn’t get a chance to continue as Scarlet’s earing beeped, going down to one spot. “You better go hide to change back.”
Scarlet nodded and rushed back to the closet, getting in there and closing the door just as she changed back. “That… was close.” Chloé panted.
“You did really well Chloé!” Tikki praised the blonde.
“Thanks.” she replied reaching for the earrings, but stopping just before taking one off.
“Chloé, we need to get the miraculous back to Marinette.” Tikki pleaded.
“No, not yet.” the blonde shook her head. “The one time Marinette is akumatized is the same time someone else is Ladybug? That’s just asking for Hawkmoth to figure out who she is. I need to be Scarlet Lady at least once more so he thinks there’s something else up.”
Tikki didn’t look fully convinced, but she reluctantly nodded. “I guess you’re right. One person knowing her secret is enough. And if Hawkmoth could figure it out, other people could as well.”
“Then let’s go find Marinette and tell her the news.”
Marinette is not a Bad Designer
Alright… I’ve seen one-too many bitter posts by fans of Miraculous Ladybug disappointed by Marinette’s deep-down costume choice to not put my thoughts on the matter forward.
When considering a design in textiles, we are taught to critically observe it through two lenses: functional and aesthetic. Simply put: how it serves its purpose and its overall appearance (usually how visually appealing it is). Despite often clashing and getting in the way of one-another, they sometimes are easier to see as concepts that blend into one another. In water colour, if you paint red and blue next to each other, they are going mix to create purple. (I blather when I explain these concepts, so if you wish to get to the analysis of Marinette and Adrien’s designs skip ahead to ***)
As an example for this outlook, I’ll use a cushion on a lounge. Its functions are to provide lumbar support; help maintain good posture; filling the gaps of a comfortable sitting space the lounge may have missed; to last continuous uses; and to complement and accentuate the design of the lounge. This means function will control the shape, size, density, and – to a degree – the fabric choices such as category and type (e.g. woven and cotton respectively) of the cushion, and provide a starting point for the aesthetics via the lounge’s aesthetics. The cushion’s aesthetic purposes on a plain lounge are to create interesting and appealing focal points; on a patterned lounge, they provide plain yet grounding points to bring focus and calm to an otherwise busy design. Aesthetics therefore controls the shape, fabric type and pattern (e.g. cotton or plush, and floral respectively), and notions such as piping and buttons. I have most likely missed a plethora of points, but I am aware I am usually long winded and am an amateur.
Of course, some designs need to heavily lean to one side of planning. A wall-hanging is a piece of art using textiles mediums; therefore it will have dependence on aesthetics planning to be successful. Its function is simply to look good. A tent taken on a camping trip, however, is going to be all purpose. It wants to keep you safe from the elements, and not take up too much room in your car or weight in your backpack. If the tent is made from chiffon, with bolts of cloth dedicated to frills and decorative drapes, it will be bulky; be even more difficult to stuff into its bag than your sleeping-bag; tear easily on the first bit of nature it comes in contact with; and metaphorically take on the properties of fairy-floss when it rains, not only drenching you, but keeping you wet and trapped as the delicate and light fabric becomes heavy and collapses on top of you and whatever unfortunate soul tried to foolishly take refuge in it. One may even say its aesthetic purpose it to look durable. The only acceptation I can think of is a camouflage design, where a specific pattern and frills that mimic leaves are necessary.
***
Through this, I have hopefully illustrated that the relationship between function and aesthetics is one of give and take. Adrien does not give a damn about this. His father may be a famous designer, and whether or not he has shared a few tips of the trade, this boy grew up on manga. He is going to hit this super-hero costume with as much magic-girl that his kawaii desu ne heart possesses. He’s got cuffs; a long-ass tail that has its own pose in the transformation sequence; paw prints on the boots; unnecessary seams and piping; morphed pupils (that may be an automatic change to give him night-vision); and a big bell that rings, for crying out loud. The only functions I can see are steel-caps, pockets, removability of the tail, and claws. Even then I suspect these were mainly chosen for the aesthetics. Even his seams are what you would call aesthetic seams. It’s a suit made from magic. You don’t need seams.
Marinette, on the other hand, is focused on the function of this being a superhero costume. She knows she will be going into battle. Taking leaf out of Edna Mode’s book and then the whole library, she forgoes the iconic billowing cape and anything else that would hinder or even put her in danger her while fighting. Seams, zipper tags, cuffs, tails, and bells can be exploited by getting grabbed by a villain or accidentally caught on an edge or pointy debris while dodging or escaping. She only has an allusion to antenna as ribbons rather long poles sticking out of her head will basically become handles for whomever she is fighting. The only fault I can see is keeping her pigtails (*SPOILER* which we know she can change from the leak of Kitty Noir *SPOILER OVER*). Even then they may serve to create some kind of barrier from the back for her miraculous. She doesn’t need such things as steel caps because her magical fabric is already all the armour she needs.
I’ve had fun creating alternative costumes for Marinette. With function in mind, and wanting to reference the beetle, I added plate armour to the front to mimic the underside of the ladybird; angled spikes on the arms and legs like many beetles have to catch blades and cause damage; white spots like on their head on a black helmet that conceals her identity better; and the red and black shell only as a detachable shield on the back. Apart from being a design more appropriate for an AU, I forgot one important thing that all these features I wanted as tributes to the source material took away. Marinette knew that a superhero needs to be recognisable. Hence, this is the goal of the aesthetics.
The simplicity of the fabric’s pattern is to be iconic. What’s the most salient part of a ladybird? The black spots on their red shell. What pattern has she chosen? Exactly that. She is supposed to be a hero of the people. Someone every citizen can recognise as she swings by so fast she’s a blur. Parisians are going to be attacked so often that the red with black polka-dots needs to inspire feelings of safety, so that when they see her they don’t instantly think she’s akuma they need to seek shelter from. When she rescues terrified and flustered citizens, or toddlers crying for their mother, she needs to be recognised immediately; to create a focus point for the panicked mind; and to inspire peace and a sense that it will all be okay now that she’s here. A plain pattern in bold colours is the easiest way to do this. Adrien has even done this with the almost unanimously black outfit and silhouette alluding to a cat with the ears and tail. Her simplicity is necessary BOTH functionally and aesthetically.
*SPOILER*
In the event they swap kwamiis, they retain their design philosophies, and yet are influenced by someone they love and care about’s take on it. They need to hold onto the established iconic design the other has come up with, yet express they are someone else with their own unique take on it. Adrien keeps the iconic spots as the main feature, but adds panels of black to accentuate the pattern; give a nod to the actual ratio of black to spots on the ladybird; suggest armour; and to add depth and accentuate muscle anatomy. Marinette turns the bells and whistles into lines on the fabric to remove the danger of them while honouring them. Her plat imitates a tail instead of a more-easily-grappled belt and the collar tells of her Chinese heritage. In the event of the mouse fiasco, she needs to alter her design philosophy from hero to “omg please don’t find out I’m Ladybug”. Her colours are the usual palette she wears to inspire Marinette thoughts for Chat; her hair resembles mouse ears and are definitely and defiantly not Ladybug’s piggy tails; and her stripes and spikes, and tail create the farce that she is an inexperienced hero by forgoing the ungrabblable and to be easily recognised as the animal of their miraculous holder attitude Ladybug adopts.
*SPOILER OVER*
Being a designer isn’t just “Ima add frills for days cuz that shit’s tight”; knowing that busy patterns next to each other clash; making things look visually appealing or stunning; or even knowing what’s hot this season. It’s about making something for and around a purpose. And through this, Marinette can indeed retain her title of “good designer”. Thank you for reading my one thousand and five-hundred word essay. I hope this has enlightened some confused and vexed fans.
-A truly exciting morning -
The morning sun greeted Marinette as she blinked her eyes awake from a heavy dream. She was dancing with Prince Adrien again, their eyes locked onto one another; the same warm feeling pooling at the pit of her stomach. Butterflies danced around them like in a fairy tale, but then Chat Noir came up and stole her away, twirling her to the melody and causing all the white butterflies to fly away. Groaning, the young Princess rose up hastily. She was not a morning person, by any means. Memories of her escapade last night with Chat Noir flooded her mind, and she mentally slapped herself. She really should have turned him in, especially since he was supposed to be in jail in Apis. But he was so different than what she imagined, feeling a familiar tug of her heart towards him she couldn’t explain. Her gut kept telling her he wasn’t all bad. When she saw him again, she would definitely call the guards.
‘If I see him again...,’ she thought, correcting herself. She began to blush remembering his earthly scent, and his sweet goodbye kiss on her hand. A loud knock at her bedroom door interrupted her continuing thoughts of the nice leather suit the thief wore, causing Marinette to bounce out of bed and trip over her blankets; she landed on the floor face first.
“Enterupfh,” Marinette mumbled out through her cotton confines.
Alya came in and immediately erupted in howling laughter. “Please tell me you woke up like that!” She assisted Marinette up, untangling her blanket mummification, and laughed some more at Marinette’s unruly hair. Glancing over at her floor mirror, Marinette began to giggle too at the antennae-like mess on the top of her head. “Well, you are going to be late, as per usual,” Alya began, heading over to the door to let Rose come inside to assist Marinette. “But luckily for you, Prince Adrien isn’t an early riser either. I just spoke to Lord Nino, who said that they will just meet us at the dining hall, since apparently Prince Adrien had a rough night.”
Marinette’s embarrassment of her behavior and her mother’s stern words to her last night before Chat arrived reverberated through her. Rose bowed low as she entered, “Good Morning, Your Majesty.”
“Morning Rose,” Marinette said, giving the girl a small hug and a peck on the cheek. A true customary way of greeting, but not between social classes; Marinette didn’t care though. She wanted to make sure all her subjects were treated with respect.
Rose blushed a little, and smiled brightly, “I was told by your mother to make sure you were dressed, but it seems as though I am going to have to make some magic happen with that hair.”
All three girls let out fits of giggles and laughter.
Rose worked quickly, under Alya’s watchful eye, washing Marinette’s face, appling healthy blush, and placing the princess in a nice, but comfortable white flared dress with flower designs and pink flats. Her hair tamed into Marinette’s signature twin-tails. Before they left however, Marinette grabbed the apology gift she was working on for Adrien before Chat Noir jumped into the scene last night. A soft blue scarf made from the finest fabric. A creation she had been slowly making as a side project, but now it seemed fitting as a good present and form of apology. Hurrying along to the dining hall, Rose awaited outside the double marble doors as Alya entered first, announcing Marinette.
“Her Majesty, Princess Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” Alya took her place towards the end of the long wooden table, sitting by herself, as she kept her back and face rigid until Marinette entered.
Placing her hands in front of her cautiously and all the while gripping tight on her gift, Marinette noted the absence of Adrien at the table and an unfamiliar older face sitting beside her father that looked like a sour grape mixed with a tall giraffe.
“Good Morning, dear,” Queen Sabine greeted her daughter, rising from the table to give her a kiss on the cheek.
“Good Morning, mother,” Marinette kissed her father’s cheek as she came to the head of the table, “Good Morning, father.”
“Good Morning, Marinette,” her father began,returning Marinette’s greeting. He lifted his hand and indicated to the stranger next to him,
“Allow me to introduce, King Gabriel Agreste of Mortem.”
Oh, dear. Marinette grew stiff as her embarrassment of last night flashed in her mind. She had decided she was going to apologize to Adrien, but she never thought about apologizing to his father. She coursied low, keeping her voice even from years of practice, “Good Morning, King Gabriel. My sincerest apologies to my behavior last night, your highness. I was thrown off guard, and I acted out of sorts. I hope you can see it in your heart to forgive me.”
“You should apologize to my son, dear girl. Though, if I were him, I would make sure you washed my feet every night during our honeymoon until they were no longer bruised,” The King of Mortem’s words were like venom, as he spat them out towards Marinette. She flinched, holding back some tears at the expense of her parents. She was going to be Queen, and though words like that hurt, she was stronger than that. She would be treated fairly in her own kingdom. Before Marinette could return fire, the doors opened again and in walked a young dark skinned man wearing glasses, a blue tunic and casual pants. Marinette immediately recognized the crest of the House of Lahiffe at the center of his shirt; a green turtle.
“His Majesty, Prince Adrien Agreste,” said the newcomer, taking a seat and smiling next to Alya. The Lady-in-Waiting grew rosy and began softly talking to the young man.
Prince Adrien came in behind him, looking tired but holding a fake smile. He didn’t seem to be in much pain from his foot, Marinette noted. But of course, she was only told by her mother how swollen it was. He wore a simple light, baggy cotton pants and a black tunic that Marinette couldn’t help but note showed off his muscular arms; he walked up to his father and bowed low.
“Good Morning, Father.”
King Gabriel just nodded at his son in acknowledgement.
Adrien took a seat next to his father and turned to King Tom and Queen Sabine, “Good Morning everyone. Thank you again for letting us stay here until the wedding.”
“Of course, dear boy,” King Tom said, trying to bring joy back into the room, “We only want what’s best for you both, right honey?”
Queen Sabine nodded, almost nervously, “Yes of course. Glad to see your foot healing nicely.” Adrien’s face almost betrayed him with a blush, and he nodded, “I can walk on it now, thanks to your wonderful staff. The swelling is completely gone.”
Sabine smiled sweetly and turned to her daughter, “Have a seat, dear.”
Realizing she was just staring at Adrien this whole time, Marinette made a soft yeep noise and took a seat next to her mother, across from Adrien. She smiled and waved at Adrien awkwardly, with him returning it and looking over at Queen Sabine for some sort of explanation. Sabine nugged her daughter, bringing her back down to reality.
Marinette lowered her head to cover her eyes and placed her hands out, palms up, presenting her gift. “Good Morning, Prince Adrien. I give you my complete and total marriage in hand...I mean hand in marriage for my behavior last night. I hope I can make it up to you throughout the years to come. May our Kingdoms prosper.” She reached closer to him and placed the scarf on the table, “I made you a gift, too.” Queen Sabine placed a hand on Marinette’s shoulder when she sat back down and mouthed a silent, ‘good job’.
Adrien scratched the back of his neck nervously at Marinette’s formality, reaching for the scarf. It was so soft to the touch, with thick fabric and frills at the end.. He widened his eyes at the craftsmanship, remarking, “Thank you, Princess Marinette. I will cherish this forever.” Placing the scarf around his neck for now, Adrien’s face suddenly grew warm. No one has ever gone out of their way to give something to him before.
A ring of a bell brought the attention of the royals to the kitchen door, where Max stood, smiling. He held a napkin over his arm and indicated to the kitchen.
“Breakfast is now served.”
Kitchen staff poured out of the door, with carts of delicious food and steamy pastries filling the scents of the air. Sausages, eggs, oats, fruits, chocolate croissants ; the warm decalent smells and cinnamon-sugar flavors reaching Adrien’s nose.
He sniffed hard, a little too hard, catching Marinette’s attention. She covered her mouth with a giggle, causing Adrien to blush slightly. “Our farms can not produce such an amazing breakfast,” Adrien remarked, as a plates began to fill out in front of him. For each staff, he said thanks as they tried not to look at him in the face.
Marinette tilted her head, “Oh? I thought Mortem was highly regarded for their meat processing and cotton production. I am inspired by a lot of Mortem designs.”
King Gabriel butted in, “Those are all well and good, but a drought has overtaken most of our lands. We are having to cut costs where we can. I actually help with those designs, Princess. ”
“Oh that is amazing! Well I hope I can work with you, King Gabriel, and we can help get those farms back up to speed,” Marinette remarked, taking a bite out of a soft and gooey croissant.
“I hope you can too,” Adrien responded with a warm smile, stuffing a strawberry in his mouth.
Marinette turned her attention to the mysterious stranger who was talking with Alya, introducing herself, “Hello there, I am Princess Marinette. I don’t believe I’ve meet you before.”
Adrien copied her, but with Alya, “Weren’t you the girl who bumped into me last night?”
Alya stiffened, her face flashing red from embarrassment. She was hoping he wasn’t going to recognize her and that her annoyance with him last night was forgotten.
“Why did you bump into my son, Lady Cesire?” King Gabriel demanded, raising an eyebrow up.
“It-it was an accident,” Alya covered, “I apologized, didn’t I, Prince Adrien?”
Putting two and two together, Adrien nodded over towards his father, grinning, “Yeah, she did, father, don’t worry.” So that’s Princess “Lady” Cesire… Using this opportunity to ease the tension, Adrien pointed to Nino.
“This is my retainer, Lord Nino Lahiffe.”
Searching her mind for her history lesson, Marinette remembered the traditional ways of the House of Lahiffe and the House of Agreste. She nodded, and smiled, “Nice to meet you, sir Knight.”
“The pleasure is mine, Princess,” Nino titled his head up and returned the smile.
A older, mature looking woman walked inside the hall, her stance poise and her hair black as night with a streak of red flowing through it. Glasses stopped at the tip of her nose, and a rolled up parchment was gripped onto her side. She came behind King Gabriel, leaned into him, and whispered in his ear low. Adrien shot a curious glance over, wondering what the news was. King Tom and Queen Sabine stared hard with distrust at the exchange.
“Understood. You may go, Natalie,” Gabriel excused the stewardess, and as she left without another word, the King relayed, “It seems Chat Noir was spotted last night roaming the grounds.”
Adrien dropped his fork mid-bite, Marinette choked on her orange juice, and Nino gagged a little on oatmeal, causing the table to look over at them all. Adrien was the first to recover fast enough, grabbing his fork again, “R-really now? I thought he was locked up in Apis.”
Ignoring his son’s stammer, the stiff King continued, “He was apparently released on the account that Princess Chloe was to reform him. After breakfast, I will address the situation myself. I feel responsible for this thief on the account he started in Mortem.” He nabbed his napkin over his mouth to wipe off non-existent crumbs.
King Tom remarked, “I’ll make sure extra guards are stationed and round the clock watch is highlighted in the morning patrol meeting.”
Queen Sabine continued for him, “Surely Chat Noir knows that we would do that. Maybe we should do a curfew, too.”
King Tom nodded in agreement, “I’ll speak to the Senators about that idea.”
‘Damnit,’ Adrien mentally cursed, having left back to the guest house right after Marinette healed him last night. He was usually so careful. He hoped who ever saw him last night didn’t see him with Marinette.
To distract from her thoughts, Marinette spotted the last stuff pastry on the silver platter at the center of the table, and reached far forward to grab it. What she didn’t see, however, was metal fork stuck under the pitcher of orange juice. But that was just the thing she placed her weight on to reach for the pastry, causing flying juice to splash all over Adrien and his father.
“Oh my Gods, I am so sorry!”
Marinette covered her face quickly to hide her shame, as her mother began to hug her and coo her.
“What is the meaning of THIS?!” King Gabriel shouted, quickly rising with juice dripping from his face and hands. House staff raced inside the dining area, hands full of napkins and towels. Marinette’s clumsiness was commonplace for them. They tried assisting King Gabriel, but he kept shooing them away, face plastered with anger. He snatched a towel from one of the maids, attending to his face himself. Adrien, however, started laughing hysterically, grabbing a towel from a young butler and dabbing his face dry.
Gabriel turned to his son, confusion mixed with anger. “What do you find so funny, son?!”
Adrien stood up, staring his father in the face, “Oh lighten up, Father. It was an accident.”
Sour perched lips addressed Adrien, “Accident or not, this is your future wife. She should be punished by you and learn proper etiquette.”
Adrien gazed over at Marinette, her face still covered by her hands with her mother whispering to her softly. They needed to talk, one on one.
“Princess Marinette, come with me then. If you’ll excuse us, everyone”
Never lifting her head up, Marinette rose and pushed her chair back. Alya stood up to join them but was stopped by King Tom’s hand. Nino stood up too, only for Adrien to shake his head. He was going to speak to Marinette, alone.
Adrien made his way out of the hall, Marinette following closely behind him. He walked outside, towards the gardens he saw yesterday. They were even more beautiful during the day, with different flowers and plants growing interchangeably. Ignoring his own citrus smell now, he walked towards a part of the gardens he didn’t get to see last night. Close by a tall stone statue of a ladybug, a rose bush held a single red rose, which Adrien plucked easily.
He turned to Marinette rose in hand, who never looked up. Tears could be seen falling down her cheeks and her lips were tightly pressed together. Her hands made fists at her sides, trembling.
“Marinette I-”
“I am so sorry!” She cried out, bringing bluebell eyes to meet green. Adrien’s heart tore at the sight of the poor girl. “I am so clumsy and I am sorry about your foot and I am sorry about my improper etiquette, and.. .and..”
“Hush, It’s okay.”
“And..a-what?” She sniffled, stopping her rambling.
“My father is the biggest hardass when it comes to etiquette, proper traditions, and all that. It was an accident, I know.” He chuckled, “I was there.”
Marinette wiped away tears running down her cheeks with the back of her hand, and a small smile began to peek out. “I am sorry about last night though. When I learned you were friends with Chloe, it made me physically sick. But you were so nice and danced with me. I felt a little betrayed by my own stereotype, I guess.” Adrien grinned from the corner of his mouth, the happy moments from the day before flooding his mind.. The feeling of her hands in his, her body close. But a forming a crush isn’t part of the plan.
“If it helps any, I can understand what you mean about Chloe. She can be a bit much, but she is my oldest friend,” said the Prince, “My mother passed away when I was almost 4, so I had to spend a lot of summers in Apis while my father traveled.”
Marinette tried to think back if she actually met Adrien before, at any of the parties her and Chloe would torment each other at, but nothing rang a bell. She also realized she didn’t ask an important question.
“How old are you anyway, and why haven’t I met you before now?” she asked, breakfast forgotten.
“Oh, I am 24. My father never let me go anywhere except Apis and Mortem, saying he wanted to make sure I stayed close to home. I wasn’t allowed to go to balls or parties, instead I had to train and learn all about becoming King. Even though I have Nino..but you know, I’m out in the world now. So, here.”
Adrien brought the flower towards Marinette, but suddenly, the creeping shadows of destruction glowed in the prince’s hand, causing the rose to wilt. “Damn, I’m sorry,” he cursed, “It’s my powers. I haven’t used them in so long that they sometimes leak out. I have to be extra careful.”
A brighter grin ran across Marinette’s face, as she took the dead flower in her hand. In an instant, it sprung back to life, full and vibrant. She tilted her head up to Adrien, bringing the rose close to her chest. “I covered you, I mean- I got you covered,” she stated with brightness. Her kindness knows no bounds, Adrien formulated. His father’s demanding nature flashed in his mind, and Adrien turned his head away from the princess. He has to find that ring soon, or he will have to do something he was going to regret.
Turn loose the mermaids (Part 26)
@taulun‘s AU.
Okay, I swear this is the last useless chapter. From the next one on, shits gets real. Thanks to @miracujess for being my beta.
First | Next
Also. SIN WARNING from the middle of the chapter till the end. You’ll catch up on when it begins.
If theft wasn’t the way he made his livelihood, Nino might have actually felt sorry for all these trading ships. Captain Noir had been on a roll lately. Maybe the good mood positively affected his desire to rob ships. Since he made up with Marinette a fortnight ago, he had only been in good spirits. Nino wasn’t sure if he should be grateful or not. Sure, he got rid of Chat lamenting and whining sad poems on his floor about a month ago, but since the second make up, Marinette and Chat had been at it every fucking night. And frankly, Nino was losing sleep over this. But at least he got some ear plugs recently and put them to good use. Still, not even that stopped the noise entirely. And every time Nino made a joke about it, Chat seemed to find necessary to threaten to throw him overboard. It was a little funny. Glancing around at the rest of the crew busy carrying the chests under the deck, Nino spotted his captain running with a bunch of dresses and other clothing items down the stairs, with a maniacal smile on his face. Nino shook his head. He wasn’t getting sleep anytime soon.
“Oh, Princess!” Chat said in a sing-song voice once he entered the cabin. “I got something special for you today.”
“Chat,” Marinette sighed, somewhere between exasperated and flattered, as the pirate deposited the bunch of dresses along with some other things on the side of the bed. “If you keep this up your closet will be filled with more of my clothes rather than yours.”
“I would be perfectly fine with that. Now, I got you something special.”
“Hm?” Marinette let go of the pretty pearls necklace she found between the dresses and directed her attention to him.
Chat was holding a type of garment she had never seen before. Marinette’s mouth formed a little “o” as she looked curiously at it. She noticed lots of frills and some lace, but she still wasn’t sure what it was. It didn’t look like a dress in the slightest. Lifting her hand, she traced her fingers over the ruffles. They were as soft as any dress, if not softer.
“What’s this?” she inquired, looking at Chat.
“It’s usually what you are supposed to wear under a dress.” Chat explained and Marinette tilted her head asking if she can try it on. “Of course.”
Marinette jumped up giddy, pulling off the shirt she was wearing and taking the new clothes from his hands. Only to stop abruptly and realize that, frankly, she had no idea how to put them on. She turned back to Chat with a sheepish look. He snorted and helped her putting it on.
“This is called a corset.” he explained as he tied it for her. It was such a complicated garment if she had to be honest. The panties were much more simple, you just had to slip them on and she managed that very well on her own, thank you very much. The only thing left were two pieces of lace, the same pretty shade of blue as the ruffled panties, but Marinette had no idea where those were supposed to be put. “These are stockings. Take a seat, please.” Marinette raised an eyebrow as she sat on the chair at the captain’s table. Chat kneeled in front of her and lifted her right leg and slipped the blue lace over it, tying it with a pretty pink ribbon on her thigh.
“And done.” he announced once he did the same to her left leg. With a huge smile on her face, Marinette sprinted to the mirror next to his closet, managing to make Chat fall flat on his ass in the process.
“It is so pretty!” Marinette exclaimed while spinning around and analyzing her clothes carefully.
It might have been her curiosity for anything human, but she developed an interest when it came to clothing. She was fascinated by the fabrics, the colours, the little details on the sleeves and around the collars and the many shapes stitched into the fabric. This time, it wasn’t any different. While the corset thing seemed a little bit too tight for her liking, it was still very pretty, decorated with lace and a pretty bow in between her breasts. The panties were far more comfortable and the stockings made her feel like she was floating. It was such a pretty combination in her opinion, pastel pink, blue and lavender. But there was still something that bothered her.
“This is supposed to be worn under a dress?” she asked, clearly annoyed. “But it is so pretty! Why would anyone cover it?”
“Because they are considered improper to be shown,” Chat explained.
“Well, I couldn’t care less about what’s proper and what’s not.” She shrugged. “How can you take this off, though?” Her hands roamed over the corset. She didn’t pay too much attention when Chat helped her get in it, so she wasn’t sure.
“You don’t take them off.” he said coming behind Marinette and wrapping his arms around her. “We can work around it.”
Marinette gasped as his hand slid inside her panties. Marinette doubted she would ever stop enjoying the feeling of his fingers tracing circles on her skin or caress her tender flesh. It just always felt so good and simply right. Marinette let out a low moan.
“Shame that I have to go and check on the inventory.”
Marinette let out an indignant growl as Chat moved away from her. That smug, devious, damnable… ugh. If he thinks he can rile her up and get away with it, he was entirely wrong.
Chat looked surprised when Marinette jumped in front of him, blocking the door and locking it. He gulped as a devious grin spread on Marinette’s beautiful face. He hadn’t seen her look so… so wicked. Not until now. It was almost funny, how he — out of all people — felt like a cornered animal. Marinette began to walk towards him, steps slow, calculated and hands clasped behind her back in the most innocent manner possibly. Chat started to take some steps back until he slipped on the shirt Marinette took off earlier. Just his luck. His breath hitched as Marinette kneeled then proceeded to crawl on top of him. Devious looked fantastic on her, he decided as she bent over him and suck on his bottom lip.
“You think you are the only one who can play games?” Her voice was barely above a whisper. “That’s where you are wrong, my captain.”
Flashing him a last grin, she backed off, until her face was at the same level with his crotch. Chat bit his lips to keep from moaning as she ran her hand over his boner. Glancing up at him, she snickered. “My, my, seems like I’m not the only one who got riled up.”
His breath hitched as Marinette undid his trousers, letting his erection spring free. “Princess, you don’t have to…“
“Quiet, you,” Marinette scolded, wrapping her hands gently around his member. “You kiss me down there all the time, I don’t see why I can’t return the favour.”
Chat had trouble breathing. She didn’t do anything more than just wrap her hands around him and it was already too much for him to handle. He kept her eyes on Marinette as she looked at his cock with a small pout and narrowed eyes. Was it possible to look so cute before sucking a dick? Apparently, she could. Chat could’ve have used the time to think about how many unlikely situations Marinette made seem adorable, but any coherent thought went straight to hell once he felt himself engulfed by warmth. He moaned loudly as Marinette’s tongue trailed up and down his skin. Looking again down at her, he felt himself go breathless again. She had her eyes closed and her brows frowned in concentration as her head was bobbing up and down his length. Marinette opened one eye, glancing up at him, obviously checking for a reaction. She smiled against his skin once she noticed the fuzzy eyes and the drool. Hell, he was drooling. What the actual fuck was going on?
Marinette was obviously having lots of fun toying with him. And in all honesty, he wouldn’t mind being her toy in the slightest. He kept his mouth open as small guttural moans and pants filled the silence of the cabin along with the little slurping noises made by her. He thought he was a goner when she started massaging her balls, but no, that wasn’t it. When Marinette looked at him with her gorgeous blue eyes and that raw desire and ordered him to cum, that’s what made him come undone. She swallowed everything without a second thought, before giving him one final lick and putting his cock back in his pants. Crawling over him again, she pecked him on the lips before saying in the smuggest tone possible: “I believe you have an inventory to check?”
Marinette could only laugh as he didn’t bother to get up, but instead let out a loud groan as he kept lying on the floor, thinking that this woman will be the death of him for sure.
Day 20: Surprise
Surprise you’re a superhero
@nathmarcnovember
Sorry for the fic spam I just wanted to see how posting a fic to tumblr would go it’s basically crack and full of page breaks but *shrugs*
“Just tell him you like him.” Nathaniel repeated for the umpteenth time. He opened his mouth.
But, what if he doesn’t like you? What if he’s disgusted by you after? What if he never wants to see you again?
Nathaniel closed his mouth with a slight sigh.
“Pssst. Kid.” Nathaniel looked around the park, looking for the source of the voice. He didn’t find one. Marc was sitting next to him on the park bench busy looking up the meaning of some strange word on his phone. There was no one in else in the park looking at him.
“Look down kid.” The voice hissed again. Nathaniel frowned, immediately looking down. A pin rested on the ground right by the bench’s legs. Nathaniel picked it up. Beside him, Marc stirred.
“Did you hear something?” Marc asked looking around.
“Say something and I’ll destroy you!” The voice hissed in his ear.
“No. Nothing.” Nathaniel lied. Marc looked skeptical. He looked around a bit longer before settling his attention back to his phone.
***********************
Nathaniel walked back into his room with a sigh. He dropped his bag by his desk before dropping into his chair. Another day. Another chance to tell Marc about his feelings. Only he chickened out. Again.
Nathaniel groaned. Why did he have to have a crush on his best friend? It made things so difficult. Why couldn’t he have a crush on someone where he couldn’t ruin what he had with them-
“Ok, look kid.” A...thing suddenly flew in front of Nathaniel. “I don’t have much time to explain. My name is Longg and-“
“What the hell?” Nathaniel jumped back grabbing his chest. The thing - Nathaniel guess it was a...dragon?-sighed.
“Please don’t make me go through a lengthy explanation.”
Nathaniel blinked at it. A tiny black and red dragon floated in front of him. It’s tiny wings flapped lazily in the air. “What the hell?” He asked again.
Wow, one sided love really does make people crazy.
The thing sighed again. “Ok, how do I explain this quickly?” He looked around the room. He soared over to a drawing of Mightillustrator pinned to the wall. “Do you want to be a hero like this guy?”
“Yes.” Nathaniel quickly answered.
“Then put my pin on already.”
***********************
“You know what kid? You need to stop thinking. Just act. You’ll learn. That’s how all the Miraculous holders work.” Longg had told him after he tried to ask multiple questions to the “kwami”. <p>
Nathaniel sure hoped he was right, because otherwise, what he was about to do was incredibly stupid. <p>
Longg did say he could fly though, and who was he to question a “kwami”. <p>
Nathaniel took a running start off a rooftop- the tallest one he could find- spreading his ribbed cape out as he went. When he jumped off, his cape acted like a hang glider. He soared over the Parisian streets. <p>
Nathaniel let out an excited cry. The rush was amazing. The view of the city from above was breath taking. This better than he ever could have imagined. <p>
He soared over a few buildings. He slowly descended as he glided. He kicked his feet out when one roof came close enough. His feet scraped against the concrete roof. His balance was thrown, and he tumbled to the roof hard. <p>
Nathaniel just laughed it off. He climbed to his feet, dusting off his black scaled suit. <p>
He couldn’t get over it. He was a superhero now just like Ladybug and a badass one at that. A black suit lined with red spines. A grey cape that looked like wings. A frilled mask. A sword sheathed at his waist. How much cooler could this get? <p>
“Hello?” Someone called. There was a distinct boing before someone landed beside him. Nathaniel whipped around, hand fumbling for his sword. <p>
A person in a white and black suit backed away from him. Their green eyes went wide behind a bunny snout mask. He held up his gloved hands. “I come in peace?” <p>
Nathaniel relaxed with a sigh but not before eyeing them over. He looked a lot like the other heroes he seemed...except a rabbit. “Who are you?” <p>
“Well...I’ve been thinking of what to call myself. I mean Bunny is too cute for a superhero. I had considered Hopper, but that’s just weird.” The rabbit person shrugged. “I didn’t really think up anything. I haven’t been at this all that long. But then again, Fluff suggested Lepus. That wasn’t too bad. Lepus like the constellation.” The rabbit person stopped his train of thought to nod at himself. He smiled at Nathaniel. “Yes, I’m Lepus.” They extended their hand. “You must be the holder of the dragon Miraculous. My kwami told me I’d meet you.” <p>
Nathaniel hesitated for a moment before taking his hand. “...Yes, that’s me.” <p>
Lepus shook his hand excited. “Nice to meet you! I can’t wait to start working with you!” <p>
“On what exactly?” Nathaniel asked. <p>
“Defeating akumas silly!” Lepus bounced a bit, making the floppy ears behind their mask flop. “Didn’t your kwami tell you that?” <p>
“No, he kind of rushed the tutorial. Said to just do it.” Nathaniel chuckled. <p>
“Huh, that’s strange. Well, mine is a chatterbox. She goes on and on. She told me I need to talk more. Can you believe it?” <p>
“No, I really can’t.” Nathaniel said. “Longg did tell me there’s an emergency though. Do you know anything about that?” <p>
“Oh right.” Lepus hit head with his hand. The puffy, almost cartoonish glove deflated on impact. “There’s a stray akuma. Ladybug and Chat Noir are out of commission right now so we’re up! Come on!” <p>
Lepus ran of the rooftop, bounced off the side of a nearby building, and flew down the road. Nathaniel watched him go before remembering smacking himself. <p>
Duh, he’s a hero now. He ran off the rooftop, spreading his cape out. He took off gliding after Lepus. <p>
*******************<p>
Cute. Nathaniel quickly learned that Lepus was really good at being cute. <p>
It was like Lepus was a cartoon character, a rabbit someone dipped in ink. They bounced into their first akuma battle with childlike enthusiasm, screaming taunts at the akumatized librarian. He’d quickly dodge the flaming books she’d throw with a cheeky comment and an infuriating smirk. <p>
But, the giddy smile he gave Nathaniel at the end of the battle after they defeated the librarian. That. That was cute. <p>
And so was the puffball tail he had on his costume. And his long black hair that got in his eyes sometimes. And those green eyes that were always wide and excited. <p>
And his bubbly personality. At first, it put Nathaniel off. How the hell could he keep up with so outgoing? <p>
But, it was just cute after a while. He was always so talkative that conversation was always moving. Their fights were always filled with clever quips and quick thinking as they took down akumas. <p>
Plus, his cheery demeanor was so contagious. Nathaniel couldn’t help but smile thinking of the bunny hero. Just the thought of their inevitable next meeting was enough to make him as happy as the rabbit hero. <p>
******************<p>
“Shouldn’t you be working on homework, right now?” Longg floated over to Nathaniel at his desk. “Oh, you’re drawing your boyfriend.” <p>
“He’s not my boyfriend!” Nathaniel spat, covering his sketch of Lepus. “I’m drawing up concept art. I’m going to see if we can maybe add him to the Ladybug comic.” <p>
“You want your old crush to write about your new crush?” Longg raised an eyebrow at him. <p>
“I don’t have a crush on Lepus!” Nathaniel reddened. <p>
“I’m centuries old. You can’t hide this kind of thing from me.” Longg huffed. “Do you know how many times this kind of thing happened? Too many! So, stop lying.” <p>
Nathaniel groaned. “Shut up, Longg. It’s not like that!” He folded his arms on his desk and his his reddening face in them. “It probably wouldn’t even work out anyway.”<p>
Longg’s face softened. He floated over to him, giving him a pat on the shoulder. “Come on, kid. Don’t be like that You just have to-“ <p>
“Do it. Yes, I know. That’s the advice you give for everything!” <p>
“It’s true though!” Longg frowned. “How can you know if it’ll work if you don’t try it?” <p>
Nathaniel sighed. “You can’t.” <p>
“No, you can’t, so stop moping. You have nothing to lose. Do something.” <p>
Nathaniel thought for a moment. “I could ask him out, I guess.” <p>
“There you go. Be proactive.” <p>
“I could ask him out. I will.” Nathaniel laughed, feeling a rush when he first took off flying. “I’ll do it next time we meet.” <p>
“Hell yeah, kid. Do it.” <p>
“I will!” Nathaniel smiled. But first, he needed to fix Lepus’s costume on paper.<p>
Title: The Song We Heard That Day.
Loosely Based on Mermaid Melody
Summary: After her kingdom is destroyed, Princess Marion of the Red Pearl has no other choice but to walk on land and take on the identity of Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Marinette:
Princess of the Red Pearl as well as the North Atlantic Ocean (Which is the Ocean Near France). She is about 20 years old and her name in the mermaid world is Marion, however, in the human world, it translates to Marinette. In both human and mermaid forms, she has her regular hair color-black with blue hues. In her mermaid form, her hair is long and loose, having long rose red ribbons in her hair. She wears a red shell locket, which holds her red magical pearl. Her eyes are a light red when in mermaid form and blue when in human form. In mermaid form, her tail is crimson like her ladybug suit, wine-colored pearl bangles are wrapped around the end of her tail. She also wears a light red seashell bra and has a red bracelet around her right upper arm. She wears orange-red conch shell earrings in her mermaid form, while in human form she wears ladybug themed earrings. In her idol form, she wears a long dark red halter neck dress with a slit on the right side. She wears a light red sash around her waist neatly tied into a large ribbon. She wears a rose gold opal ring on her left hand and a red pearl bracelet. She wears short strapless scarlet heels with frills on the top. Her long black hair is tied into two long thick pigtails by two red pearled scrunchies. Idol Marinette holds a white and blue microphone which holds her red pearl. In her Aqua Regina form, she wears a long sweetheart neckline white dress that hugs her figure just right. She holds a gold staff and wears white heels. Her hair is completely down cascading around her feet. Her eyes are blue like her human form.
Reason for coming on land:
She comes onto land due to her castle being attacked. She is accompanied by Tikki, basically her lady in waiting.
Songs:
Promise Land ( Mermaid Melody)
Missing You ( Kana Nishino)
Legend of the Mermaid ( Mermaid Melody, AmaLee version)
More will be added eventually
Traits: Since she's a mermaid, they are quite smart and know all the land languages. She speaks mermaid, however, can speak every other language.
She’s great at making things as well as designing things.
She met Adrien when she was 8 years old by a lagoon ( maybe)
She met Adrien after she saves him(too cliche)
Adrian: Age 21
Panthalassa ( Meaning “All Sea” in Greek) origin
Adrian and Felix are twin boys that were born on the day of the Great Sea War. Out of desperation to keep the bloodline and power of the Panthalassa alive, the people of the Panthalassa gave their remaining strength to the twin boys, giving them the power, as long as they were united, to destroy the world and everything on it. When the Aqua Regina found out, she separated the boys and their powers. Felix held the power of Darkness and was locked away in the Panthalassa castle, while his younger brother was given the power light and was washed up on the shore, where Emile and Gabriel raised him. Both his parents died due to Bridgette unlocking Felix, causing a horrible storm.
Adrian has no idea about where he comes from but suffers from, what he thinks are “nightmares”, when in actuality he is seeing things from Felix’s perspective. Adrian has the power of light and will often faint when he overexerts himself. He uses his powers often to save Marion (Marinette) from danger. His personality is mixture of chat noir and his normal personality in the show. He can be quiet flirtatious and cheeky. It would be interesting to write him this way. Adrian wears different outfits every day and is very well off due to inheriting all of his parent’s assets. Since his parents died out in sea he has developed a fear of water and hate for the sea. Before his parent’s death he would often play by the sea by the summer house his parents owned, which is where he met Marion (Marinette). He heard her singing one day and since that day they played every day until his parent’s death. After his parents died and since they were extremely famous, Adrian left to live in the summer house in order to never be found by the press. This story takes place in a distant town that is completely made up. Adrian doesn’t talk much about his parents and is very protective of his past. He was 8 years old when he met Marion and thought he had made her up but one night when he was walking by the beach he heard her singing, that’s when they were reunited again. Before Marion / Marinette showed up again, Adrian has an on and off-again relationship with Kagami.
Felix: Age 21
Panthalassa Clan
Felix was cursed with the powers of darkness, which made him get the shorthand of the stick, in terms of fate. He was cursed to live all alone, having only the deep-sea animals around him as companions. He wears a black Victorian style dress shirt, black leather pants, as well as black pointy shoes. His hair is like PV Chat Noir trailer, wild and untamed. He talks softly only to Bridgette and is very impatient, in regards to his servants. He loves Bridgette and would do anything to make her happy, which is why he is trying to capture all the mermaid princesses and his twin in order for them to be together. Felix’s biggest fear is to lose Bridgette. They have a very physical relationship.
Bridgette: Age 20
Once the kind and caring indigo princess, Bridgette now lives in the dark. Her hair that was once Periwinkle, has now turned completely black, while her eyes remain blue. She wears a long black strapless silk dress and covers her hair with a black cloth making it hard to see her face at times. Felix is the only one that knows she’s in the castle, keeping the sea demons unaware of her presence. She cares deeply for Felix and very much loves him. She turned her back on her kingdom when she stole the key that locked away Felix in his castle and released him. They have a very physical relationship.
