"Togusa mistakenly eats cyborg food for the third time this month because Batou did not pack separate lunches" was a thing I wanted to paint after seeing that GitS SAC 2nd Gig episode about fake food.
I am a woman of simple ambitions

"how do you get into oshii" its really fr*cking simple. the red spectacles, stray dog, and jin roh are a sort of trilogy, but he only wrote jin roh, and talking head is the secret actual third part of the trilogy and also red spectacles 2. avalon is red spectacles 3, but also gits 1.5. avalon, assault girls and garm wars are a trilogy. gits is angel's egg 2. patlabor is three movies but only the first two are oshii. there is however a live action patlabor the next generation. the super secret not-sequel to kerberos/red spectacles is tachiguishi which spawned two more movies, onna tachiguishi and shin onna tachiguishi, neither of which have english subs. oshii organized multiple anthology movies (including shin onna) that feature "assault girl" and "assault girl 2" shorts as precursors to assault girls, and later "sand whale and me" is the officially completely unaffiliated joke assault girls OVA that reuses every asset from it. the sky crawlers is a thematic avalon spinoff. garm wars is also a remake of his unfinished manga seraphim 266613336 wings. he wrote a patlabor novel where the characters all talk about soccer the whole book and patlabor is not on the cover of the novel. he had a major role on gits sac 2nd gig (but only that one) that he never ever talks about. he wrote a manga called "in the end" about autistic girls being hunted down by the evil organization TRUMP. there was a gits3 that was pitched but cancelled. blood the last vampire. i have to watch 106 urusei yatsura episodes

Toonami Weekly Recap 5/19/2018
My Hero Academia EP#03 - Roaring Muscles: All Might tells Izuku of his quirk, "One For All", a special quirk that transfers its strength from person to person. While All Might believes Izuku to be worthy of his quirk, bestowing it to him right away would ruin his untrained body. All Might then designs a ten-month training regimen to ensure that Izuku can become a vessel that can carry it.
Black Clover EP#23 - The Crimson Lion King: Thanks to Noelle’s help, Asta is now able to concentrate on the battle. However, because of the attack he took earlier, Asta continues to lose stamina and isn’t able to move as well as he’d like.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: Battle in Egypt EP#37 - Hol Horse and Boingo, Part 2: Hol Horse holds Polnareff at gunpoint in order to hide from Jotaro and the others, but Polnareff manages to get out of the situation thanks to a lucky sneeze. However, upon being exposed, Hol Horse spills some olive oil which causes a truck to skid out of control and almost hit Jotaro and the others, bringing Thoth's prediction to fruition. Hiding from Jotaro, the only one not left unconscious by the crash, Hol Horse and Boingo follow Thoth's next prediction, which states they can kill Jotaro by shooting Hol Horse's bullets through the pipe system at noon sharp. With only a few minutes until noon, the duo rush to get the pipes open and launch their bullets through it. However, Polnareff's lucky sneeze helps Jotaro to dodge the bullets, which end up turning around and hitting Hol Horse instead, while the only thing Jotaro gets hit with is a splash of water. Just as Boingo considers a change of heart, he inadvertently ends up angering Iggy and winds up hospitalized along with Hol Horse.
Hunter x Hunter: The Chimera Ant Arc EP#96 - A × Lawless × Home: As news about the rogue Chimera Ants spread around the world, six members of the Phantom Troupe appear at Meteor City to wipe out some of them which had established a colony there.
Space Dandy EP#16 - Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Baby: When Dandy spends all the food money on a flashlight teleporter, Meow turns it on out of anger and accidentally teleports Dandy's head to Planet Pushy Boyfriend. Dandy is greeted by a fish alien named Carpaccio, who is an astronaut from Planet Girlfriend, his home planet. After Meow teleports Dandy's body and himself to Planet Pushy Boyfriend, Carpaccio explains that he has been stranded on Planet Pushy Boyfriend for a decade, predicting that the sun will scorch both planets soon since it has been a millennium since this has occurred before. Dandy and Meow help carry Carpaccio's sailboat rocket to the surface of Planet Pushy Boyfriend, and they ride the waves that connect towards Planet Girlfriend. Upon arrival on the planet, Carpaccio races to his home, only to find that his ex-girlfriend Yoko is dating her new boyfriend Minato. Carpaccio fails to convince the fish alien residents that the sun will scorch the planet. Just as Meow finds new batteries to recharge the flashlight teleporter, Carpaccio chooses to commit suicide with the burning heat of the sun. Dandy manages to teleport Meow and himself back to the Aloha Oe, where Dandy and Meow decide to feast on Carpaccio's barbecued body.
FLCL EP#06 OVA Finale - FLCLimax: Haruko and Kanti have disappeared and become wanted criminals, while smoke continues to pour out of the Medical Mechanica plant, shrouding Mabase in mist. Mamimi finds a small dog-like robot by the river. It runs away with her cell phone, which she lets it eat, and it grows as a result. Haruko returns to the Nandaba residence at dinner (in a style similar to episode 1's dinner scene), causing Naota to later ask her in tears why she left. Commander Amarao and Lieutenant Kitsurubami attempt to find the "terminal core" of a robot they haul out of the river, which is revealed to be the device Mamimi has been feeding. It absorbs part of Kanti before Haruko feeds Naota to it, then drills into the giant hand. From this, Haruko hopes to extract Atomsk, the celestial being whose power she desires. Before the giant hand can fully grasp the Medical Mechanica plant, Kanti stops it as Naota emerges from his head, glowing with the infinite energy of Atomsk. Stunned, Haruko flies into a rage, bent on acquiring the power of Atomsk by killing Naota. Before he can finish Haruko off, Naota stops short and declaring his love for her, kisses her, allowing Atomsk to fully emerge from his N.O. channel. Atomsk consumes the terminal core and blasts into space. Afterwards, Haruko offers to bring Naota into space, but decides against it because he is "still a kid". Naota finds her bass lying amongst the rubble, which Mamimi takes a picture of, inspiring her to leave school and pursue a photography career. In the epilogue, life returns to normal in Mabase, although a string on Haruko's bass is seen being plucked on its own.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG EP#26 (52) - IN: Return to Patriotism – ENDLESS∞GIG: The JMSDF lets loose with another round of artillery fire and missile strikes as refugees on Dejima attempt to evacuate the island aboard makeshift rafts and boats. In an attempt to save as many refugee lives as possible, Kusanagi orders the Tachikoma units to secure as much space as they can find on the net to store the refugees' memories and ghosts, but the Tachikoma units disregard these orders. Taking matters into their own hands, the Tachikomas decide to commandeer a satellite and drop it into the path that a missile launched from the American sub would take in order to prevent the missile from hitting its intended target. They succeed in commandeering a satellite, but in their haste to save the team the Tachikomas realize too late that the satellite they have chosen is their own AI satellite. Undeterred, the Tachikomas continue with their plan, saving copies of their memories in the space gathered for the refugees. Elsewhere, Section 9 and Section 4 arrive at the bridge head with the plutonium, and are met by members of the GSDA. As Section 9 and Section 4 explain the situation, the missile slated to destroy Dejima is launched; however it is intercepted by the Tachikomas' satellite before it can reach Dejima. Down at the docks, Batou succeeds in locating both Kusanagi and Kuze, who are evacuated from the island by a GSDA helicopter. Back at the cabinet room, Kayabuki and several security men loyal to her corner Chief Secretary Takakura, who is arrested by Aramaki. Following his arrest, the PM and Section 9 turn their attention to Goda, who is planning on defecting to the American Empire. Accompanied by Aramaki and Togusa, a SAT team storms and secures the floor where Goda and his American entourage are located. Goda states that he is beyond the reach of the Japanese justice system, as he informed the Police of his actions by letter prior to the Dejima incident. However, Kayabuki has labelled Goda a Japanese asset for his outstanding skills, requiring him to stay in Japan or face execution from the Self Defense Force to prevent him from falling into enemy hands. During the conversation, an elevator arrives to take Goda and the Americans to the ground floor, but when the doors open, Kusanagi fires multiple rounds into Goda's head, killing him. However, at the same time, the CIA assassinates Kuze to prevent him from becoming a rallying point for the refugees. Some time later, Section 9 is apparently reorganized into a militarized unit. With the Tachikomas gone, Kusanagi and the others are now reliant on less emotional, slightly more advanced Fuchikoma AI tanks. Kusanagi, lost in thought, snaps out of her daydream and realizes her next mission with all her former Section 9 members, courtesy of Togusa. Batou then leads her team off in their new roller tanks to their next job, and Kusanagi leaves once they have gone, taking her own path.
There will be a marathon of the FLCL OVA series next week and FLCL Progressive will premiere on June 2.

have you watched GITS SAC 2nd Gig? it has an example that's a step in that direction
My ideal existence would be as a GITS-style cyborg but without the presentation of human-ness.
Something person-shaped but without the look of skin, or hair, or facial movement to provide expression. I don’t want to be perceived as human
