SORRY I WAS DOING SMTH BUT

You know how I mentioned the whole reason behind his earring saying 672 on it? Well, in the lore for the au, there's this scene where the original Lead Director, 001, is helping this girl (her name is Bunny! more on her eventually) through a particularly dark section of the hospital, and while they're walking... they get attacked by this shadowy wolf! And the shadowy wolf, it bites 001 and it kills him! Terrifying.

And so, Bunny blacks out from fear, and everything goes dark! And, when Bunny comes to, she's strapped down in the mourge, and the original, 001, is laying next to her, dead. And, the lead Mortician is standing over the two of them, talking to himself when he notices Bunny is awake! And so, the two of them talk and he escorts her to an empty room where she can stay until he's finished with her work!

He walks away, annd he's gone for a while, right? However, while Bunny is alone, she hears a knock on the door. She walks up and answers the door, and who's standing at her door?

Lead DIRECTOR.

But, but he was supposed to be DEAD. And so she asks him, and he is equally as confused as she is. He remembers her, and his duties in the hospital, but, he never remembers DYING. And, he doesn't have any scars or injuries. It's like he's a new man. But, that's when she notices his ear tag. What once said 001... now says 002!

Pretty cool, yeah? Yeah! So, I had basically the dream equivalent of this scene. Except, I was someone else, and I was hearing this story back from the Lead Mortician. This time, I was a new character. I believe my name was Crow, and I had a companion who reminded me of you!

Me and you, we were a girlboss and a girlsoldier! We were besties, if you will. You were my queen if you were into blues with pink accents, and I was your soldier, your purple girlie with a sword and gun.

So, we're exploring the mourge together, you kept holding my hand. And as I'm pushing open this door, you spot a fallen tag that says 099 on it! And, as you go to pick it up, you see purple hair sticking from underneath this closed door. So, I open it for you and.

This room is just STACKED to the brim with a bunch of the same looking corpse. Same purple and teal hair, purple ears, endless tags. 99 different versions of the Lead Director. That was wild.

So yeah dream me and you accidentally discovered a corpse party it was wild. So... yeah! We return back to our room because we're scared, and guess who we run into? The Lead Director. And what number is on his tag?

nearly made myself cry thinking about in from the cold again so here are my thoughts obviously this is endwalker spoilers for anybody who hasn’t finished it yet.

this is very much horror that’s tailored to My WOL Specifically but like. i was watching the cutscene again and it occurred to me we don’t know anything about the body WOL gets put in for this quest. if i were writing it i realized that being able to point out the incongruities as pfeil experiences them would maybe work better since my eventual endwalker fic will be from his POV.

so i thought about “what’s a body that would make him really uncomfortable” and ofc settled on Teenage Girlsoldier. it’s a very plausible type of person in the setting, and there’s the layered element of dysphoria and being too young that adds to the body horror. even if he can’t look at her his voice sounding Even More Wrong will be such a bad time.

i realized that this is doubly horrifying bc of his child harm trigger and how absolutely nuts he gets over it, ESPECIALLY as it applies to young girls given he was one of those once and had a really bad time. so i think Zenos would throw out some kind of “i picked her out specifically just for you, since you like girls” line and pfeil would be going fucking ballistic

finally there’s the issue of Bonding. in a weird way during the mission ingame i bonded with the nameless soldier and hoped they’d be okay once we got to camp, and them dying at the end just kind of added to the general misery of the situation. i think for pfeil, who isn’t very comfortable being “alone in his head” anyway (bc i’ve decided being bodyswapped means he can’t communicate with the rest of his system) and who’s very worried about not just himself but this poor girl, tries to talk to her in his head the whole time and is begging for a response and trying to reassure her that he’s going to keep her safe if they can JUST get to camp and JUST get his body back he PROMISES. and of course once he gets his body back she’s dead and was probably dead the whole time. kind of brutal. that bit was what nearly made me cry

haven’t been able to stop thinking ab your harrenhal fic since i read it the other day i love the depth you’ve given to a character that has little to no exploration in lore/meta <3 danelle beloved

this is so sweet thank you so much. I think danelle lothston is such a cool concept that george rr martin has not gotten around to developing yet. Like she is the sole owner of a haunted castle and the last of a doomed family, the other members of which were both king's mistresses (slash alleged daughter? huge generational curses there i think). Only 2 notable actions in the periphery of the narrative, one of which is being a girlsoldier that led a whole group of troops to stop the 2 blackfyre 2 rebellion in full armor at age like 19, and then her next sighting was getting killed by her own men age late 20s for eating people and drinking their blood, which had been going on for years. Like her whole purpose in the narrative is to be a ghost story in Harrenhal, she was gone from the beginning. its all so interesting to me
