Buck woke to the sound of Eddie’s gentle snoring beside him.

The light was trickling in through the curtains, soft and warm, and he smiled as he realised that it was Christmas morning.

He took a deep breath in and stretched himself out, wriggling forward until his hips were pressed against Eddie and he was sliding an arm around him. Eddie hummed in reply, settling back into him as Buck kissed just below his ear.

“Morning,” he mumbled, closing his eyes and nuzzling into Eddie. “Merry Christmas.”

If buck and Eddie ever have a second kid, what would you want for them and how? I lean more towards them adopting a little girl, because Girl Dad Buck is an unstoppable force. They can’t show him with Jee-Yun too much, because they know that man would be too powerful with a tiara on his head and frozen temporary tattoos

I can't stop thinking about girl dads buddie. buck always sitting down on small chairs to have tea with his princess and her toys, eddie not even blinking when she wants to put make up on him, both of them always driving their daughter and her friends to whatever place they want during the weekends (they wonder why she doesn't insist on getting a driving license and she ends up admitting that she likes sharing that time with them. both of them cry).

Christopher has to deal with his younger sister falling in love with his friends, has to listen to her crying over another boy that broke her heart ("listen, i get that you're sad, and we can totally dump slime on his locker tomorrow, but stop crying so loud or dad will hear you and that boy will end up dead")

they teach her to braid hair, and how to do CPR. buck teaches her how to bake and eddie teaches her how to drive. they see her graduate and entering college to be a nurse.

here’s another part of heal. you were supposed to get a whole new chapter but my brain simply said no.😭

Carla had felt so bad when she found out the results from the phone call, and she had spent the better part of two weeks apologizing to Buck, Lia, and Eddie. Buck waved it off, telling her she didn’t know so they couldn’t fault her. It would’ve happened even if Buck had been the one to call her.

“I’m going to have to put her back in therapy,” Buck sighs. “Fucking hell.”

“There’s nothing wrong with that, kid,” Bobby assures him. “It doesn’t mean you’ve failed. If anything, you’re doing everything right. No parent can handle everything by themselves and Lia just needs a little bit of help that you can’t give her. It’s okay.”

“But I’m her dad,” Buck says, frustrated. “I should be able to help her. I don’t know why-”

“Because you’re only human, Buck.” Hen says. “She suffered from something traumatic. God knows how hard my mother tried to fix everything after my dad left but she just couldn’t. There’s no shame in asking for help. It doesn’t mean you’re a bad dad.”

Okay but we really don't tap into the fact that Edmundo Diaz is the big brother to not one but two little sisters.

Just imagine: Eddie is babysitting Jee-Yun, either completely alone or just helping Buck, doesn't matter. And he gets some time alone with her (because either Buck is not there or he's making dinner or something) Jee's hair is quite long now, long enough to fall into her face constantly which is no way to play anything.

So Eddie sits her down and braids her hair. His hands don't cooperate at first but turns out he still remembers it from when he did for Sophia and Adriana. He gets more confident with each twist of hair. The second braid is done in minutes. Jee is ecstatic.

Madney come home early because that new restaurant they were trying out was a major flop. They ask Buck where their daughter is but before he can answer, Jee is running into the room with two little french braids swishing around, beaming.

Maddie never learned how to do it, never saw the point. She doesn't do it for herself.

Chim honest to god tried but there were too many flyaways and it was overall not a great experience for either (he's practicing on Maddie but not there yet)

It never even occurred to Buck before, although he will research the heck out of braiding techniques now

So they ask her who did it and she points at Eddie just entering the room. A bit flustered, he explains that he used to do it a lot for her sisters (and if you listen closely, you can hear Buck manifest himself a pair of ovaries just so they could melt away in a second because holy shit that's very hot for some reason)

I just find it so sweet and endearing that every time Buck is at his lowest Maddie and Eddie are like here’s my kid now babysit them please and thank you lol like even in the coma dream he’s also a teacher like the love that Buck has for children is so special and I’m so excited for the day we get to see him be a dad because it will heal something in him he didn’t realize needed healing and it will make for an interesting storyline in the sense of him internally batting not being a good dad because he didn’t have parents that cared for him, but he’ll have Eddie and Maddie reminding him that since living in LA and joining the 118 he’s surrounded himself with his found family and family that loves him for being Buck

Until Confessions airs, I can hold onto hope that the storyline they're bringing back from episode one is Pipe Baby. Buck's life moving forward quickly and opening up to different opportunities and yada yada ya.

I don't care that it's unlikely, I need this.
