The blackbuck also called as The Indian antelope, is an antelope native to India and Nepal. It live in grassy plains and lightly forested areas with perennial water sources. It stands up to 74 to 84 cm (29 to 33 in) approximate high at the shoulder. Males weigh 20–57 kg (44–126 lb), with an average of 38 kg (84 lb) approximate. Facts about Asiatic lions
1. There are only several hundred of Asiatic lions in the wild, and they only the place of live in the Gir Forest, India, in an area that is smaller than Greater London. 2. Asian lions are slightly smaller than African lions. In contrast to African lions, the males don't tend to live with the females of their pride otherwise they are mating or have a large kill. 3. Asian lions used to mostly the range from Turkey, across Asia, to eastern India, but the rise of firearms across the world meant that they were hunted to near-extinction for sport. 4. The male Asiatic lion has a comparatively short, sparse and darker mane as compared to the fuller mane of the African lion. As a result, the male Asiatic lions ears tend to stay visible at all times. 5. The most difference of characteristic of the Asiatic lion is that the longitudinal fold of skin that runs along with its belly. This can be absent in African lions.
