Hyderabad: Union Minister for Textiles Giriraj Singh [...] MP from Begusarai constituency said, “The biggest mistake was to let Muslims live here. If the country was partitioned on religious lines, why were Muslims allowed to remain here? Had they not been allowed to live here this situation would not have been created.”He was quoted in an article by an RSS mouthpiece Panchjanya, where he allegedly said that had all the Muslims migrated to Pakistan, India would be a different country.
“It is the misfortune for this country. Had some of our ancestors in 1947 sent all Muslims to Pakistan when the country was partitioned on religious lines, then nobody could have raised such questions,” he said.

[ad_1] GG News Bureau Panaji, 11th Dec. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday demanded a judicial inquiry into the cash-for-jobs scam in Goa, expressing doubts over the effectiveness of an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation. AAP Goa president Amit Palekar alleged that BJP functionaries were involved, and a probe by the ED, which he claimed to be “an agency of the BJP,” would yield no results. AAP leaders also targeted Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and his family over the scam, accusing them of benefiting from the alleged fraud. Responding to these accusations, Goa BJP spokesperson Giriraj Pai Vernekar denied any involvement of the CM or his family, calling the allegations baseless and politically motivated. Vernekar highlighted that the first FIR in the scam was registered at the CM’s behest and that the Goa police had already arrested over 25 individuals in connection with the fraud. The scam involved duping government job aspirants into paying lakhs of rupees for employment opportunities that never materialized. CM Sawant assured an unbiased investigation into the scam and urged victims to come forward. So far, 30 FIRs have been registered. “The accused have been apprehended because of the CM’s repeated appeals to the people to report such frauds,” Vernekar said. AAP MP Sanjay Singh also joined the criticism, prompting Vernekar to challenge opposition parties to present evidence linking CM Sawant or his family to the scam. He warned that continued baseless allegations could force the BJP to “explore all options” for legal recourse. The BJP has maintained that the investigation will expose individual fraudsters and vindicate senior party leaders. The opposition, however, continues to press for an independent judicial probe. PM Modi signals continuity in portfolio allocation, reposes trust in old team as many of them retain departments
Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out a message of continuity by retaining his top lieutenants in key Ministries while allocating portfolios to his Council of Ministers on June 10.
The four big Ministries that are part of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) — a key body within the Union Cabinet — saw the return of all the Ministers with Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman and S. Jaishankar retaining the portfolios of Home, Defence, Finance, and External Affairs respectively.
Mr. Modi, who now needs the support of allies to lead the latest National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, also left key infrastructure Ministries largely unchanged. Nitin Gadkari retained Road Transport and Highways, Sarbananda Sonowal retaining Shipping and Ports, and Ashwini Vaishnaw keeping Railways, along with Information Technology and Information and Broadcasting. Jyotiraditya Scindia seems to have received a leg-up by securing the Telecom Ministry, another key infrastructure portfolio. Only Aviation saw a change, and was handed to Ram Mohan Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a portfolio that had been with his party in the first Modi government, when Ashok Gajapati Raju had held the Ministry.
Team NDA 3.0
Prime minister holds all important policy issues and all other portfolios not allocated to any minister.
Former Chief Ministers who were newly sworn in as Ministers were also given key Ministries. Former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar got the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry on a day when Mr. Modi’s first Cabinet meeting with his new team cleared a proposal for building three crore houses in urban and rural areas under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY). Former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan received charge of the crucial Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, a reflection of the fact that under his tenure as CM, wheat production, especially that of the famous Sharbati wheat, had broken all records.
At a time when calls for a caste census are being raised both from outside and within the NDA government, Virender Kumar has been retained with the Social Justice portfolio.
Interestingly, with the Lok Sabha seeing a far bigger contingent of Opposition MPs, Arunachal Pradesh MP Kiren Rijiju has been made Minister for Parliamentary Affairs as he is seen to be affable and shares a good rapport across the political spectrum. Mr. Rijiju being a Buddhist has been given charge of the Minority Affairs Ministry.
Even with allies, allocations have followed a pattern of continuity, with Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’ holding the portfolio of Panchayati Raj, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, earlier held by Giriraj Singh, who is a BJP MP from the same State of Bihar. H.D. Kumaraswamy of the Janata Dal (S) got the portfolio of Heavy Industries and Steel, which was held by the Shiv Sena before they parted ways with the BJP. Former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is Cabinet Minister for Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs). Chirag Paswan holds the Food Processing Ministry which was earlier held by his father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
Among Ministers from the BJP’s stable, C.R. Paatil got the crucial Ministry of Jal Shakti, a flagship post where close rapport with Mr. Modi is a key factor. Dharmendra Pradhan retained Education, Arjun Ram Meghwal retained Law while Pralhad Joshi moved to Food, Civil Supplies and Renewable Energy.
In all, the overarching message from the portfolio allocation effected by Mr. Modi seems to be that while his party’s numbers had reduced, he does not hold it against his ministerial colleagues, putting out a business-as-usual vibe as he embarks on his third-successive term.

SP Gupta, MD of Sunair Hotel Ltd Gets Relief In Criminal Case From Delhi Court
New Delhi [India], December 17 (ANI): A Delhi Court has discharged SP Gupta, Managing Director of Sunair Hotels Limited, and another in a criminal case filed in the year 2002, by VLS Finance Limited.
The said matter arises out of long-driven litigation between Sunair Hotels Limited and VLS Finance Limited relating to financial transactions from the MoU executed between the two companies in the year 1995.
In respect of the said case, a chargesheet was filed by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in the year 2007 under various sections including allegations of forgery of letters written by various MPs to different agencies including SEBI, extortion and blackmail.
The Court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Chander Mohan in an order passed on last week said on "this court is of the opinion that a few bits here and a few bits there on which the prosecution relies cannot be held to be adequate for connecting the accused SP Gupta or Pardeep Dhingra to criminal conspiracy."
"Accordingly, prima facie a case under sections 465/471/420 of IPC is made out against accused SH Siddiqui only and accused SP Gupta and Pardeep Dhingra are discharged from the present case", Court said
SP Gupta was represented by Advocate Vijay Aggarwal and Advocate Aashul Agarwal who argued before the Court that no offence has been made out against him and the allegations levelled are false which have been made levelled at the instance of VLS Finance Limited who has tried to merely convert civil disputes into criminal cases.
It was pointed out by Advocate Aggarwal that the whole chargesheet contains vague and bald allegations and no role of SP Gupta has been brought on record to even prima-facie show that he had any role to play in the alleged offence.
It was further argued by Advocate Vijay Aggarwal that falsity of the allegations is clear from the fact that the Chargesheet itself shows that out of 14 letters alleged to be forged, the CFSL Report has given its comment on only 4 letter and moreover, the specimen signature taken from S.P. Gupta as per the CFSL report does not match any of the forged signatures as alleged.
The present FIR was registered on the complaint of TB Gupta, Managing Director of VLS Finance Limited. The allegations in the present case pertain to threats by the accused persons to the employees and officers of complainant company to enter into a settlement and also regarding blackmail, extortion, circulation of false and bogus material and sending complaints against VLS finance by using forged letterheads and signatures of MPs.
After investigation, chargesheet was filed against only accused SP Gupta, Pradeep Dhingra, SH Siddiqui and Giriraj Singh. Accused Giriraj was declared PO. Accused Shashikant Arora and Sudesh Kohli have already expired and proceedings against them abated. (ANI)
