58/?? Childhood TV Shows You Should Watch
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Title: The Harlem Globetrotters
Seasons: 2
Episodes: 22
Run Time: 30 Mins
Original Air Date: September 12, 1970 - October 16, 1971
Synopsis:
The show team members featured fictionalized versions of historical Globetrotters Meadowlark Lemon, Freddie "Curly" Neal, Hubert "Geese" Ausbie, J.C. "Gip" Gipson, Bobby Joe Mason, and Paul "Pablo" Robertson, alongside their bus driver and manager Granny and their dog mascot Dribbles.
The series worked to a formula where the team travels somewhere and typically gets involved in a local conflict that leads to one of the Globetrotters proposing a basketball game to settle the issue. To ensure the Globetrotters' defeat, the villains rig the contest; however, before the second half of the contest, the team always finds a way to even the odds, become all but invincible, and win the game.
My Rating: 8/10
My Reasoning:
I really liked this show. It had a Scooby-Doo-esque charm to it. To add to that, my favorite episodes or where they were featured in the Scooby-Doo movies haha. Anyway, I think the dynamics between the characters are fun and interesting to watch. Just check it out, you'll probably like it.

The world has lost a legend. Gravedigger by day, world class blues man and juke joint owner by night. Alabama Icon Henry "Gip" Gipson has died at 99. I was honored to call him friend. RIP

Gip’s Place is one of the most unique and fun venues in Birmingham, Alabama! This place is only open on Saturday nights. People from all over the world come to Gip’s Place to listen to some of the coolest blues band in town. Henry Gipson is a living legend and a national treasure. He’s well into his 90s, and he is still shredding on his guitar. I am honored that I saw him live.

“No black. No white. Just blues.” – Henry “Gip” Gipson
On October 8th, 2019 Henry “Gip” Gipson died. His death was first announced via Facebook by his son Keith, “My father past to today. From Gip.s place to a better place you can’t talk saying it as he always said.” The word “legendary” is tossed about willy-nilly these days, but in the Gip’s case, the term fits. He was almost larger…
