~Gilligan’s Island Cartoon/Drawing of the Day~

Today we have some very nice fan-art. Here the artist shows the eccentric & crazy mad scientist, Doctor Boris Balinkoff. He is shown standing outside the contemptible & dreary “Balinkoff Castle” which is located on the high sea-cliffs of “Balinkoff Island".  Balinkoff Island is an island that is very close to Gilligan’s Island but the exact proximity was never disclosed.

This piece of artwork was inspired from the episode, ‘The Friendly Physician’ which is the 29th episode of the second season of Gilligan's Island and the 65th overall episode in the series. It first aired April 7, 1966.

Doctor Balinkoff was also to appear in the Third Season of Gilligan’s Island in an episode titled, ‘Ring Around Gilligan’ which is the 77th episode of Gilligan's Island.

The New Adventures Of Gilligan - 3 DVD set - Warner Archive - released April 26, 2016 - 552 minutes - 24 episodes   Filmation made 2 cartoon series adaptations of the 1964-1967 series Gilligan’s Island. The New Adventures of Gilligan 1974–1977, and Gilligan's Planet 1982-1983. Both released on MOD DVD from Warner Archive. Today we have some very interesting fan-art, Ginger Grant the 'Movie Star' shown here with Jonathan Kincaid in the background who is a sportsman and big game hunter who travels through the South Pacific with his guide Ramoo and arrives on the island looking for fresh game on his hunting trip through the islands.

When Kincaid finds Gilligan and learns about the Castaways and that there's nothing to hunt on the island, he decides to hunt one of the castaways. Looking over them, he decides that Ginger and Mary Ann and the Howells wouldn't give him much of a challenge and that the Skipper and Professor would be too easy. To him, Gilligan is the only worthy choice. 

Jonathan Kincaid appeared in the GI episode, 'The Hunter', which is the 86th episode of Gilligan's Island and the 18th episode of the third season. It first aired on January 16, 1967

    ....Perhaps Kincaid is planning to hunt Ginger this time instead of Gilligan??
