Starmania 1980
This version is the simple Quebec adaptation of the 1979 production , was only performed for one year at the Comédie Nationale of Montréal
DISTRIBUTION :
Robert Leroux : Johnny Rockfort
Martine St-Clair : Cristal
Louise Forestier : Marie-Jeanne
Michel McLean : Zéro Janvier
France Castel : Stella Spotlight
Jacques Blais : Ziggy
Sylvie Boucher : Sadia
Gilles Valiquette : Roger-Roger
Francis Martin : l'Extra-terrestre
The show is a desert of archives (neither photos nor videos) all we have left is the album "Starmania made in Quebec " :
And a tiny video extract ( Starts at 5:53 and ends at 7:37 ) :
youtube
ANECDOTES :
The character of Gourou Marabou is absent from this version . This is also the first time that Roger Roger recovers the lines of la speakerine ( who will never appear again anyway)
...
The character of the extraterreste is played by a little 10-year-old boy, which explains this slightly nasal and surprising little voice in the album
...
The song “Un enfant de la pollution" was removed without explanation ...
**
For more Starmania or to discover other French musicals I invite you to follow the path of my main masterlist to learn more about French musicals and their stories :

Monsieur Richard Firmin and Monsieur Gilles André!"
The Phantom of the RP blog, non-selective, mostly Lloyd-Webber canon – references and nods to Leroux canon included.
Depiction of MM. André and Firmin are Bradley Dean and Craig Bennett respectively.
Not quite family-friendly. Other RP blogs encouraged to interact.

Welcome back! good to see you back here, I missed your content! for the aesthetic game, can you please do one for Dottie and one for Mathias? love them!
Hi there Nonnie! Thank you for your kind words, it's good to be back indeed! :D Allow me to present the Aesthetic for Dorothea and Mathias (also, keep an eye on my dash, because I have other requests for these two, so I have more aesthetic things coming for them :D)
🌹DOROTHEA MARIANNE STARRICK ✨
MOODBOARD:
PLAYLIST:
"Morning Star" - Blackmore's Night
"Winter's Bloom" - Adrian Von Ziegler
"Ghost of a Rose" - Blackmore's Night
STEAL HER LOOK:
QUOTES :
“Those freckles make you seem like a galaxy of stars, just waiting to be explored and loved.” - Nikita Gill
“All men have stars, but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems... But all these stars are silent. You-You alone will have stars as no one else has them.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Le Petit Prince
“...her who whose beauty is not like earthly beauty, dangerous to look upon, but like the morning star which is its emblem, bright and musical.”- James Joyce, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
“In a Wonderland they lie, Dreaming as the days go by, Dreaming as the summers die: Ever drifting down the stream- Lingering in the golden gleam- Life, what is it but a dream?” ― Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking Glass
HER AESTHETIC:
Starlit sky; Northern Lights setting the sky blazing; stargazing alone on a secluded beach with the waves as gentle company; frost-covered roses in a hidden garden; walking down a path in the forest at night holding a silver lantern as a sole guide with the snow gently falling silently all around; abandoned manors hidden away in the depths of an ancient forest; ghosts still dancing together in ballrooms accompanied only by the music of their memories; sitting by the fireplace on an ancient rocking chair and reading an ancient tome under a thick pelt; sipping on warm rose tea while looking at the snow falling outside; snuggling under the comfort of heavy blankets in a canopy bed;
🌙MATHIAS SÉBASTIEN DE BEAUMONT🎨
MOODBOARD:
PLAYLIST:
"Hijo De La Luna" - Mecano
"Outdoor" - Roberto Cacciapaglia
"Adagio" - Il Divo
STEAL HIS LOOK:
QUOTES:
“Because when he sings...even the birds stop to listen.”- Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
“Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent”- Victor Hugo
“Now I want to live like everybody else. I want to have a wife like everybody else and to take her out on Sundays. I have invented a mask that makes me look like anybody. People will not even turn round in the streets. You will be the happiest of women. And we will sing, all by ourselves, till we swoon away with delight. You are crying! You are afraid of me! And yet I am not really wicked. Love me and you shall see! All I wanted was to be loved for myself. If you loved me I should be as gentle as a lamb; and you could do anything with me that you pleased.” - Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera
“He stared dully at the desolate, cold road and the pale, dead night. Nothing was colder or more dead than his heart. He had loved an angel and now he despised a woman.”- Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera
HIS AESTHETIC:
A small nook to sit and reflect quietly; new quills and parchments; the perfume of freshly brewed coffee, the way the air smell when Autumn is about to arrive, the feeling when the fingers start tickling the ivories and a melody is born, completely encompassing one's soul; the sound of rain against the glass of the windows; riding a horse with the wind caressing one's hair, free from all fears and worries; songs sung together with friends; the perfume of orange flowers and neroli still lingering on the pillow; the sight of the full moon after a night storm; waves crashing against the sand in the distance;

It's 2024 so I decided to redesign team LCAF! (I literally started drawing on the 3rd and full hyperfocused on this so hard my arm hurts now)
Starting out with the team's leader, Lillian "Lily Pad" Maria!
She's got new magnetic thigh holsters for her weapons that double as armor! Her side shave has migrated over to the opposite side! She's got piercings now! And I pushed the heart motif as much as I could, with lil heart earrings, heart button, heart kneepads, and heart(ish) toed boots. Also, I made her white waist cape turn sheer with the yellow as the accent rather it being full opaque yellow with white as the accent.
Next we've got Clara Ginger!
She's got an entirely new outfit, and her bag is nowhere to be found! She's got more red in her design to compliment her partner, and she's got some red tint in her glasses now! Plus she's sporting some lip makeup and now she has some sweet lacy gloves, as well as some nice lacy tights! I also took out the brown in her og design since it made the design too busy.
Next it's the partner in question, Adrienne "Enne" Leroux!
The general vibe of her outfit is the same, just a bit more detailed and with gold accents, but I completely redesigned her symbol (to look more like an eye) and her mask! It's now held onto her head by the same logic that holds Adam Taurus's mask and Ilia Amitola's WF mask to their respective faces... ~anime physics~ She's also got some new opera gloves! (also fun fact, when I originally came up with her concept, I didn't realize the author of the original Phantom of the Opera, Gaston Leroux, had the surname Leroux. It was a fun coincidence that I decided to keep ^.^)
And last but certainly the one I redesigned first, Frosk "Fro" Alaguna!
He got a full rehaul of his outfit design (to reflect his 'party animal' personality a bit better) with an open wetsuit top, some sweet wetsuit bottoms, and some sick goggles. Plus, I wanted to be able to show off his top scars (cause they're cool and I subscribe to the idea of stylized top scars are dope as hell). And I gave him a tattoo. For funsies. He's also got a sling thing that I saw on Menagerie extras and I wanted to make it obvious that he's from there since his gills can be overlooked... plus I've decided that it holds his weapons :D

Announcing Tobin means you’re getting the media circus. I’d be putting that off for as long as possible too. If this were a team who needed the hype, than sure. But this team is selling out tickets even without a big name like Tobin. I also think it’s way too coincidental that they happen to have one spot left on the roster to sign a player. I’ve seen some people say that there’s technically 3 spots left since Gilles and Swaby are on loan and don’t count against the roster but idk about that.
Personally i count 23 spot taken if i don't count Gilles and Swaby. This is the 32 player roster and if i take off everyone who is loaned out or not contracted i get to this.
Goalkeepers (3): Angelina Anderson, DiDi Haračić, Brittany Isenhour

Midfielders (7): Claire Emslie, Jun Endo (INT), Shae Harvey (U-18 trialist), Clarisse Le Bihan (INT), Savannah McCaskill, Lily Nabet, Mackenzie Pluck, Katie Soderstrom (NRI), Dani Weatherholt
Forwards (5): Simone Charley, Katie Johnson, Sydney Leroux, Mia Minestrella (U-18 trialist), Christen Press (SEI), Alyssa Thompson
#ask#acfc#some people don't count Chris because of the sei list#but she will be taken off it if she will play this season so you will have to count her as well

📚, 🎨, 🥞 and 🕐 for Gaston Leroux from your circus group and also for Gillian from Demon School! -@itfitsitshipsart
Gaston Leroux
📚- Most likely about law and its practice, he was a lawyer before he became a circus performer.
🎨- Hm, maybe a little skill in a few artistic things since he is from a pretty rich family who would've taught him some stuff; rich person crafts.
🥞- He does take pretty decent care of himself, he thinks its important, though he has his occasional nights where he stays awake long into the nights.
🕐- He's not one for dwelling on stuff, honestly he probably wouldn't sincerely want that if it was presented to him by someone.
Demon school ! Gill
📚- Magical beasts, she loves them !
🎨- She loves crafting art projects, it's stuff she taught herself to do mostly as a hobby of her's, painting, sewing, drawing, etc.
🥞- She's pretty good, stays awake a long time most nights. She's from an influential family and she's got a lot of stuff needed to take proper care of herself and people to do it for her.
🕐- In her school days at Babyls, she let her temper control her when she saw a group of other students inflicting harm on a magical beast and attacked them, which got her put in the misfit class, if anything it's not that she hated the class, but she'd probably choose to control her anger and resolve it more peacefully.

Identity Fraud and Indigenous Self-determination - Perspectives of Abenaki Youth (UNPFII Side Event).
The phenomenon of cultural and identity appropriation, commonly known as "race-shifting," poses a significant challenge for the W8banaki Nation. Since 2011, the State of Vermont has recognized four self-proclaimed "Abenaki" groups, 98% of whose members have no Indigenous ancestry. These groups exploit Ndakina, the ancestral territory of the W8banaki Nation, and unjustly represent the Nation without any legitimate authority.
Opening speeches by Rick O'Bomsawin, Chief of the Abenaki of Odanak, and Ghislain Picard, Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador. Presentation by Professor Darryl Leroux, Sigwanis Lachapelle, and Isaak Lachapelle-Gill.
