Rex Heuermann, the suspect in the Gilgo beach killings, was charged with the murder of a seventh victim in a new superseding indictment released on Tuesday in Suffolk County court. Heuermann was charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Valerie Mack, whose partial remains were found in eastern Long Island in November 2000. “Your honor, I am not guilty of any of these charges,” Heuermann said in court Tuesday, shaking his head no. Mack was a 24-year-old Philadelphia mother and worked as an escort at the time of her appearance. Parts of Mack’s remains were first found in a wooded area of Manorville by a group of hunters, who called 911 and reported the findings. In May 2020, prosecutors used a DNA sample from Mack’s remains and worked with local law enforcement, a genetic genealogist from the FBI, and the Suffolk County crime laboratory to determine the remains belonged to Mack, according to the district attorney’s bail application.

They found the Gilgo Beach serial killer AKA L.I.S.K.!!!
It's a freaking architect!! His name is Rex Huebeurban.
If you have no idea who L. I. S. K./ The Gilgo Beach Serial Killer is I really recommend the Crime Junkie Episode on him. Although they do go into conspiracy theory mode at the end cause they think the tires killer is a separate guy but turns out it was Rex. 18 people were found murdered in brulap sacks in Gilgo Beach.
This is sick fuck called one of the victims, Melissa Barthelemy, little sister Amanda before the murder investigation, when Melissa was just missing. Rex asked if she was a wh*re like her sister and other sick things and on his last call he said "I finally killed your sister, and I'm watching her body rot."
So the press, expectedly, caught wind of the story and published the story causing the calls to stop and thus the polices only connection to the killer. I honestly fucking hate journos. They constantly kill investigations by publishing information they should not have or should not publish.

A Long Island architect was charged Friday with murder in the deaths of three of the 11 victims in a long-unsolved string of killings known as the Gilgo Beach murders after detectives pursuing a new lead say they matched DNA from a pizza he ate to genetic material found on the women’s remains. Rex Heuermann, who has lived for decades across a bay from where the remains were found, is charged with killing Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello. He is also considered the prime suspect in the death of a fourth woman whose body was bound and hidden in thick underbrush along a remote beach highway, authorities said. Investigators have said over the years that it’s unlikely one person killed all 11 victims. Heuermann, 59, was arrested late Thursday amid a renewed investigation that first identified him as a suspect in March 2022, when detectives linked him to a pickup truck that a witness reported seeing when one of the victims disappeared in 2010.

The main suspect in the Gilgo Beach serial killings has been charged of two more murders, going back to the 90s. This piece of shit named Red Heuermann has murdered at least 6 women, and there are possibly more yet to be discovered. He was first arrested in 2023. He had a wife and kids.
All of his victims were in sex work/prostitution/escorting, common victims for people like this.
I hope the media calls it was it is: femicide. Their names were Sandra Costilla, Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, Jessica Taylor, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, and Amber Costello. They were people. They deserve to be here, while he doesn’t.
There were more bodies found in the area, but those have yet to be linked to him. I hope each victim of his is identified. I hope he receives punishment for each life he took. I hope they receive the proper burial he deprived them off. I hope they receive justice, even if it is so poorly delayed.

Rex Heuermann, the New York man awaiting trial in a string of killings more than a decade ago, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a fourth woman who was among victims whose remains were discovered by investigators on Long Island in 2010. Heuermann is now charged with murder in the killing of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, whose remains were found near Gilgo Beach in 2010, according to court documents released Tuesday. Brainard-Barnes was 25 years old when she was last seen in July 2007. He has pleaded not guilty. Heuermann was taken into custody in July and charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the killings of Melissa Barthelemy in 2009, and Megan Waterman and Amber Costello in 2010. He pleaded not guilty to those charges last year. The women became known as the “Gilgo Four” after their remains were found near Gilgo Beach within a few days of each other in 2010.

Omg so Zodiac by Lana leaked today... I'm so shocked
It would've been so good on the album. It matches the "Don't forget me," beach/ocean, and dark themes (probably the darkest Lana songs yet???).
It's about the Gilgo Beach murders in Long Island from the 90s-2011, which makes me more depressed it wasn't on Ocean Blvd since it gave light to this tragedy (and crimes against sex workers).
One of her best, if not THE best from the Ocean Blvd era...
Is it bad I'm holding out for it to be released on a future album (since we aren't getting a deluxe *enter sad face here*).

The suspect who was arrested on Long Island in connection with a long-unsolved string of killings, known as the Gilgo Beach murders, has been confirmed as Rex Heuermann, according to four senior law enforcement officials briefed on the case.
Suffolk County police, sheriffs and New York State Police gathered outside Heuermann's home all Friday morning. He is expected to be in court later in the day and Suffolk County prosecutors are expected to provide more details on the arrest and the suspect in a Friday afternoon news conference.
Police and other agencies were seen searching the Massapequa Park home of the suspect. They were looking to see if any evidence inside might link Heuermann to the killings.
Not much is yet known about Heuermann but one neighbor who spoke to NBC New York said was born and raised on Long Island and has lived in the Massapequa area his entire life.
Since human remains were found along Gilgo Beach more than a decade ago, the case has drawn immense public attention for many years. The unsolved killings gained even more national interest when they became the subject of the 2020 Netflix film “Lost Girls.”
The deaths of 11 people whose remains were found in 2010 and 2011 have long stumped investigators. Most of the victims were young women who had been sex workers. Several of the bodies were found near the town of Gilgo Beach.
Determining who killed them, and why, has vexed a slew of seasoned homicide detectives through several changes in police leadership. Last year, an interagency task force was formed with investigators from the FBI, as well as state and local police departments, aimed at solving the case.
The formation of the Gilgo Beach task force represents a renewed commitment to investigating the unsolved killings of mostly young women whose skeletal remains were found along a highway on Long Island, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison said.
“We’re happy to see that they’re finally active, the police, in accomplishing something. Let’s wait and see what it all leads to,” said John Ray, the attorney for the families of two victims, Shannan Gilbert and Jessica Taylor.
In talking about the bodies near Gilgo Beach, investigators have said several times over the years that it is unlikely one person killed all the victims.
News of a suspect being taken into custody comes a day after state police responded to a report of skeletal remains found in a wooded area off the Southern State Parkway in Islip. Police planned a briefing near the site on Friday afternoon. It wasn’t immediately clear if those remains were linked to the Gilgo Beach case.
