Honestly I know these lotto events ala Nerofest/Gilfest aren’t exactly lore heavy events, but even with that in mind the ending of the Faerie Knight Cup feels exceptionally “that’s it???”, like no explanation for why Britomart stayed in Chaldea? They have her outright say “my magical energy is exhausted” and yet nothing comes of that.

Britomart really do be an absolute Nothingburger of a servant.

hi! as someone who also loves gil deeply i love your blog and all your meta posts about our king. but i was curious, i know you ship kotogil and gilkidu and gilhaku, but how do you feel about gilguda? i ship gil with...basically all of the above options, all gil ships are good and amazing, but as someone who does ship all of them (and who is excited as hell thanks to oc3 for gil to have an entire ass harem in chaldea now lmfao) sometimes i get kinda anxious about shipping gilguda in the wake of how much people love all the others ships in comparison.

i do like gilguda!! i think they dont quite get as much time together as gil does with the other three, which is probably why its not quite as popular, but i do really like them. given the nature of things they dont really get a lot of one on one time in babylonia, but gil does come to genuinely admire and respect guda there, and then in solomon he comes in and give a whole speech as he helps guda to protect humanity together! the movie even implied that gil helped give guda the final power boost they needed

and then in chaldea gil very openly really likes guda! you can't forget the classic "give me a week's notice before your birthday". hes a complete tsun about caring about them. he will work well together with guda, like in the second gilfest where he helps you defeat spishtar. he basically never gets significantly angry at them

and ofc, both versions' valentines scenes are oo perfect. archer is a complete tsun and caster takes you on a literal date!

guda is definitely up there with the people gil cares about the most, just like the others. he literally sacrificed himself in babylonia to save them!!

And now some various hotfixes to the mess that is FGO’s economy:

Alchemy system for excess Gold mats, mana prisms, gems, and statues. Materials only transmute downward in rarity, Gems only transmute upwards. Turn 1 rare mat in multiple lower rarity mats, turn several lower rarity gems into one higher rarity gem. Statues can be substituted universally but are worth much less in filling the “meter”. Powered by mana prisms instead of QP.

Burning an asc4 max level servant will refund 50% of materials used on them if Silver or bronze border, 100% of materials if gold. QP, embers, All-fou’s, and grails are not refunded.

Large quantities of Mana Prisms can be compressed into Rare Prisms. Large quantities of rare prisms can be compressed into Unregistered Spirit Origins. Both processes require lots of QP.

Vegas style Big Bets can be attempted once a month.

Story replay, Replay post-rerun CQs and gilfest challenges on rotation for “Lore Shards”

Grail front is monthly rotation with refreshing grail shards. Massive increase to bond it grants as well.

2MLB of mat drop CE guarantees at least 1 per run on a stage that normally has a chance to drop them if the stage is in a lostbelt.

Just fucking cut the amount of bond servants need in half across the board with 6 onwards. You don’t even have to retroactively reward current players even though you should in the form of banking the excess upon lanterning a servant who got overflowed.

Oh I feel like the Hassan fight in Nerofest is the prototype for the Mephisto fight in gilfest and some others now as well

You fight a bunch of enemies then the boss shows up every 3 turns or so and does something then leaves again

When you think about it the Hassan fight does feel like the raw idea for it

Qin Shi Huang, my blorbo. I didn't even whale for him. He just kept coming home and I spoiled him rotten (I ran Arts based teams, so he fit in immediately)

I genuinely miss the game sometimes, but my phone refuses to run it again without freaking out. I hope it's a possibility when I upgrade. I do miss the less... insane combat. I was genuinely into the story (including the early chapters that people complain about) and would like for it to not be as... difficult to get through. I'm not good at the strategy of it all nor do I really want to think about 10+ things at once. I just want to enjoy the joyful angst of the lostbelts.

For context, I stopped just after India came out (never played it).

Ooh! The LB3 Ruler, right? From my own runs with him, he's really fun and a really good solo/CQ choice!

I'm F2P in Fate GO too. I only ever spent SQ in GSSRs because tbh spending money on SQ here isn't really worth it unlike in say...Genshin where there is a guarantee you will get who you want.😅 Even the new safety net Fate GO introduced is really steep and not accessible to F2P.

I got my Arthurs from saving SQ for several months and grinding pretty much every free SQ I can get! I saved up around 500ish SQ by the time his banner came up and managed to snag 3 copies! And with the current banner he has going right now, after two painful tenpulls, I finally have four! I want to roll more but there's so many good servants coming this year (CASTORIA RERUN! OBEROOOOON!😭💕) so I'm holding back and coping with the mana prism tickets.

I personally struggled in challenge quests and some annoying nodes on Gilfest/Nerofest. But from what I saw in LB6 beyond, the gimmicks seem really annoying/tedious ><! (The LB7 gimmick is just...wow. for spoiler reasons I won't elaborate but it really forces you to raise ALL your servants).

I do remember them giving us those revival cubes(?) In JP where you can continue the battles and revive your units with full NP charge without spending SQ or command spells. Wait lemme check my JP...

It's this one I think? I didn't check if NA already has it cause I already cleared the available main stories.

And no shame on that! I haven't properly read the main stories lately too (only have enough brain power to read the event ones cause it's not as serious) and stopped around LB2. From there I just read summaries and translations of the LBs from Reddit and wiki. I suggest reading through summaries from translators if you still wanna read the lore! (That's what I did when I didn't have the phone to play the game at the time 🥲) They condensed the info into manageable pieces so it isn't too overwhelming.

Recommendation time

Multiple Case Studies of the Strange Concept of Love by Forgotten_blossom, fic where a Mysterious New Servant (identity revealed on last chapter) looking at other couples in Chaldea in order to gain a better understanding of their own feelings.

The result is a really meaningful analysis of the selected ships and a Really Sad last chapter. Read if you need Rama Content, want to see OsakaMusashi Fluff, GilKidu, or the narrator having a breakdown over their love life tragedy

For more direct fluff, Vignette 50 by bitter_edge. Just a short and super sweet round of Sieg and Guda talking to one another while going through the GilFest grinding experience. It is seriously so warm and soff I'm smiling just writing about it, please check it out
