if Sangwoo actually won the 33rd game instead of Gihun, I don't think that it would be in his character to go against the game creators, because unlike Gihun, he lost hope in humanity and existence long before he even decided to participate. he would have kept on living his normal life, pretending that nothing ever happened, or at least trying to, considering that he WOULD have had to kill Gihun in terms of winning.

still, if he somehow rejoined the games, and if somehow Inho yet again decided to play his role of Youngil, I can't even begin to imagine what kind of mind games they would've had going on. Since in canon Inho tried to act like Sangwoo for Gihun on purpose to manipulate him, it would make sense for him to be the opposite for Sangwoo, maybe trying to guilt trip him so he would slowly begin to lose it.

I also think that Sangwoo would see through it, through the mask of Youngil, at least a little. he's way less confiding than Gihun, more intelligent and harder to manipulate, but again, there's that trauma and a personification of the reminder of him having to kill Gihun, so that would sure throw him off. Sangwoo and Inho's dynamic had so much potential.

Ah, the second season of the show that actually got me into watching shows and series. I actually wasn't planning on watching this because the ending of S1 was kinda meh and I think there are several (?) like sexual assault perpetrators/rapists in the cast??? Not fully sure. but i suddenly felt the urge today after seeing some people discuss it... Hope I like it I guess

ah, so fun to see so many familiar faces, like Im Siwan, TOP, etc.

It's kinda funny that earlier this morning I watched a Law and Order episode and that involved some crypto scam and this also involves a guy who was part of a crypto scam. It really got a lot of people, huh.

As expected, Gihun's previous reveal made people actually choose to stay

Everything feels so silly and useless when Inho is right there in the midst of it all instead of feeling daring and like there's a chance

Wait, so do these soldiers know Front Man/Inho's face? I guess maybe since this guy is square and so is seemingly high up? And so recognized Inho during that eye contact I assume?

The death I'm most scared of is Hyunju

so there have been a few hints that Daeho wasn’t really a marine and now he’s too scared to get the magazines… is it a fake story of being in the marines or did he defect/get dishonourably discharged or smth?

Ah, this is when Inho decides to finally take down the people on the contestant side...

Ah... despite Noeul's attempts... the little girl's dad is killed. I was trying to see the number of the soldier's uniform to see if maybe it's 011 and she non-fatally shot him but they didn't show...

Inho is so cold. and is keeping his face hidden still also

And that's it? We don't even get a conclusion to this fucking game round...

Overall Thoughts:

Man, I want the next season now because it's such a cut-off in the middle. This didn't change my heart/have such a hold on me like season 1 did but I did binge all 7 episodes in 1 day and it was a good time.

It feels like there was very little progress in this season, like Junho's getting nowhere with finding the island (the boat captain is a traitor too) and throughout the whole season, Gihun's plans didn't feel like it had much weight because Inho knew about all of it.

I'm obsessed with Hyunju, my beloved. I'm curious about most of the other characters like 011 Noeul soldier, Junhee, etc. but since they mostly didn't die, I haven't had like strong reactions to them or anything. I'm glad Hyunju's still alive though. Gihun himself was meh, wish he was giving me brain worms so that I could fujo out over Gihun and Inho the way the director was doing lol. Also wanted to know what was going on in Inho's mind.

The purpose of this specific season is a little lost on me. It focused a lot on Xs vs Os and how people are so eager to stay out of greed by giving the money to the living contestants to split instead of to the dead people's families. Started with the scratch card vs bread thing in episode 1 where it was a guaranteed small win (bread, taking the share of the money as is) vs risky gamble for bigger possible win (scratch card, playing more games for bigger wins) and I do like them exploring that thread but the bigger picture commentary just seemed to be about how difficult and futile it is to try to bring these systems down and there'll be traitors in every direction (Boat Captain, Inho)? Not a very conclusive season but we'll see how it goes next season.

ok walk with me i hope u see the vision, ignoring the context, this is sooo post season 1 confession sangihun ghost au to me

after sangwoo’s death, all the anger between them dissipates (the way it’d never would if sangwoo was alive) and results in sangwoo being sooo nice to gihun (who unfortunately cannot hear him and is hoping sangwoo is somewhere nicer than here) like he’s soo tender and sweet.

constantly attempts to leave little kisses on gihuns hands, face, etc (took him a while to get to this point but hes so desperate to touch and comfort gihun, his prides out the window, he knows hes pathetic) hes constantly chatting to gihun (who again CANNOT hear him and is spending everyday quietly stewing and plotting) hes out here asking gihun what he wants to eat and tsking about the house being dirty etc

partly because being a ghost prob makes someone sentimental and eager to talk to people they’d be distant with in life,

partially because i think, at the beginning, maybe theres a moment where gihuns grieving and in denial and so he pretends sangwoo is with him like they survived together and sangwoos concerned, especially when its MONTHS of this and gihuns not really living or taking care of himself but part of him so happy to have his hyung’s attention… theyre both pretending the games didnt absolutely shred them apart

one day, gihun has a moment where he drags finally himself out of this denial stage, says his goodbye to sangwoo and gets ready to leave to america etc

sangwoos relieved mostly, heartbroken partially but overall understanding of course, and happy for his hyung. hes thinking about leaving too cuz as long as gihuns happy the worlds ok, this new chapter of life will be kinder to him than the last one

and then. gihun doesnt get on the plane, he spirals trying to find a way to stop the games etc and of course sangwoo is pleading to nobody about how this is very stupid and how gihuns gonna get himself killed, who does he think he is going up against a giant criminal death game organization like NO ONE WOULD DO THAT?

no one would do that… and suddenly his chest is full of honey and pride and hes fawning over gihun so bad, like dont get him wrong hes still worried and afraid but also hes feeling proud and loved cuz for the first time in months gihuns speaking to him, about him, gihuns offering him justice and promises to deliver no matter what. (i will destroy what took you from me, at the cost of my sanity and wellness i will avenge you)

and sangwoo… it makes him sick thinking about it but also so so proud of his strong, brave hyung, hes allowing himself to be impressed with gihuns audacity (for once) (if he was alive this would be a different story, hes not entertaining this shit, but as a ghost he’s not thinking clearly and cant help preening about how special and nice his hyung is, its like they’re kids again and hes just happy to be apart of the team, side by side with someone dear to him)

maybe sangwoo lets himself be very indulgent and unembarrassed cuz he’s mentally broken up about EVERYTHING (and also hes really the only one around who cares if hes being embarrassing hes dead anyway)

to me the lyrics are a perfect mix of sweet gooeyness and teasing on sangwoo’s part, hes watching gihun prep n fuss, and gihuns sooo not qualified for this but hes TRYING, logically he knows this is gonna be a mess but also hes getting wrapped up in gihun’s delusions too

torn between imagining Amos’s part as either gihun’s reaction to the youngil/inho reveal (with the roxie parts being replaced by inho, sangwoo’s ghost is very offended this) orrrr inho crashing out cuz gihun’s got sangwoo in his head still idkkk im thinkinnn it doesnt fit too perfectly either way im not stressin im here for sangwoo serenading his hubby

(in a perfect world sangwoo is gooey about gihun the way gihun is gooey about him, crazy it takes him dying for it)
