“Fanfiction is a chance for your voice to be heard. Learning to use your voice will serve you well in the future, but it will also help you gain confidence in the here and now. Whether you use your fanfiction to delve more deeply into Ron Weasley’s or Cedric Diggory’s or Hermione Granger’s or some completely different series’ character’s inner life and challenges (or to create entirely new characters!), you can bring depth and sympathy to characters in a way the original author did not.“

• E’s been learning about how to make an outline ✍️🗒this week • : this is a growth area for him - writing. his attitude + willingness to write has improved very much compared to a year ago and #writingorganizers like #writingoutlines and #brainstormingthoughts on a dry erase board has helped greatly (dry erase vs paper is great if your babes dont like crossing out things and keeping their slate clean). : One of the things I’ve learned the most when #homeschooling2e is - to be patient in their #asynchronousdevelopment and areas. fine motor skills can get to develop in other more enjoyable ways like sketching + coloring for instance (and lately) - which will eventually feed into the writing space. : If your child enjoys dictating thoughts + stories to you but is still not ready to do the dual process of craft the word dialogue in their minds AND write - be their scribe until they’re ready. : There was a bit of a block in thought flow when we tried this out signaling that readiness was not yet there, and so you adjust accordingly 🖤. : We’ve also taken a break from our byl lit read aloud copy work and have been discussing copying song lyrics for a change. So far M is all for it and E is against it so she might be doing that first and we’ll see if he joins in. . . . . #homeschoolwriting #homeschoolwriter #lifeofahomeschooler #homeschooldays #homeschoolwritingcurriculum #homeschoolwritingprogram #relaxedhomeschool #relaxedhomeschooling #relaxedhomeschoolers #eclectichomeschooler #eclectichomeschoolers #homeschoolingwriting #learningandlore #raisingwriters #homeschooling2e #specialneedshomeschooling #giftedhomeschool #homeschoolinggiftedkids #homeschoolingspecialneeds #attachmentparent #homeschoolscaffolding #zoneofproximaldevelopment https://www.instagram.com/p/BtQ8C8bBVUD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1rblfcxwtsjr6

“ When you study history, who is telling the story? In this course, we will ask that question about key moments and people in early American history. How are these people and moments presented in both fictional and nonfictional accounts? How does the story change based on who is telling and when it’s being told? Hamilton recounts the early days of the republic with a good degree of historical accuracy—but is still told in a way that is unique to the United States of the 21st century. “

We have a few questions to ask you... In order to continue advocating for your children and providing the resources you seek, we’d like to learn more about you and your alternative educational path. Whether you are currently homeschooling or not, we want to know a little about your family’s choices. To help with this, we’ve put together a brief, 5-10 minute survey. <3
