Ghosts can retreat to their core when they’re hurt enough. Really, when they’re close to a second death, or in such distress that they risk shattering themselves. They, for lack of better term, hibernate until it’s safe for them reform, and continue on their way.

Halfas are a little… different.

See, technically, they can’t die. One half will end up healing or reviving the other. But, they can still retreat to their core. The issue comes from well, the living half, that is, the half still made of flesh and bone. Which unlike ectoplasm, cannot shift and meld at will, and in fact? Most if not all of it is, once more for lack of better term, shed.��

Meaning that halfas, should they retreat to their core emerges with the body noticeably… smaller.

Now of course they keep their memories, their core would never forget after all, unlike the brain which relied on more… fleshy means. Not that the current halfas were exactly aware of that fact when they instinctively did so in self preservation. They are… not pleased upon their emergence.

The woman who stole their cores- which were apparently sold as gemstones what the fuck- is… definitely not happy either. And- okay that is not their english, where the fuck did they end up-

i love the term "lalla moulati/لالّة مولاتي" ( my lady ) because it's a title that's used for princesses/nobility/saints, but it's also used as a normal extra polite honorific-- & it literally means "my owner"

#the male/masculine equivalent is “sidi moulay” but it's not the same like moulat[i] is a regular word like moulat lmech-> cat's owner #but moulay is archaic & it's only ever used for nobility & saints so sidi moulay is only used like ironically #just “moulaya” is my [male] owner #that sounds more regular/less stilted #see it's not the same...#i also like the word anisa which just means lady/miss & nothing else but it's tainted by creepy catcallers -_- it's my fav though #yes i like honorifics for myself* no i will never use them for other people even if you had an aids filled syringe pointed at me #i do call people miss/lady though it's my fav for everyone ^_^_^#it's not even a matter of principle it's just that i won't remember & i don't have a habit of addressing people by anything other than #their name or the one i made up for them <- that one godkin carrd page #*well i only like specific ones like the two i just listed i hate the family ones the most like being called “sister” or “aunt” NO i am not #( i'm okay with being called daughter because it's like a green flag of safety like oh this old man doesn't want to fuck me whew )#that's why my mom & i have made up words we use instead even for “mom” & “dad” she uses her words i use my words #she's the one who bestowed me with the gift of wordsmithing.........

i don't understand why plants are a basic gift like this feels like smth you should only give someone if you know they're actively looking to get it (and then you should also get a specific type they may be looking for) or if they're already known as someone who likes plants. if i move out on my own and you get me a plant as a housewarming gift i will send you home with it immediately
