Chapter 2 of the Runaway Ford AU is up! Also below the cut for you guys who don't have an Ao3
Seagulls screeched nearby, and voices could be heard muttering to each other from every direction. It was a beautiful day to get out and enjoy some sunlight, but Ford had other priorities.
Taking in a breath of fresh air, Ford paused. He'd only just made it outside the pawn shop, stopping to take in the bright midday sun and the clear blue sky.
First up, he had to find Stan. Then, they were gonna run off together. After that? They'd go live on the Stan'O'War, probably. It couldn't float yet, but they could fix that easy-peasy.
The issue was trying to find Stan, though. Ford's first thought was the Stan'O'War, which was down by the beach, but there was a chance that Stan was waiting somewhere closer, and if Ford left now, he'd miss him. Then, he'd double back, and Stan would go to the boat, and they'd just keep passing each other while never actually finding each other, and that sounded like a mess waiting to happen. Best to be methodical about it.
He knelt down, unzipping his backpack to pull out his notebook and a pen; his sharpie- old reliable once again. Unfortunately, he knew first-hand that it would bleed through the pages, so he set it aside for now. Instead, he pulled out a smaller ballpoint pen.
Quickly zipping his bag back up and slinging it over his shoulder, he sprinted off a little down the road. If his parents found his note too fast, they'd be able to catch him before he made any progress on finding Stan, and if that happened, he probably wouldn't be allowed out for the rest of the summer- a summer which just started. There was so much sun ahead of them, he couldn't get cooped up too fast this time.
Once he was a couple buildings away, he ducked into a small alley and opened his notebook again. He started writing down as many places as he could think of, before going back and starring the ones he thought were most likely.
List of places Stanley could be: - Somewhere around Pines Pawns *! - Hot Belgian Waffles - The Stan'O'War *! - The park - The boardwalk - That once ice cream store I can never remember the name of *!
Ford read it over again, trying to think of more. There was also a chance he was in places Ford liked to go, like the library, but he'd check those later.
Now, where to start? Ford was willing to bet his allowance that Stanley was on the Stan'O'War, but in case he wasn't, Ford didn't want to keep running around in circles. So, starting at the closest place and going from there made the most sense.
Back to Pines Pawns it was. Hopefully they hadn't found the note yet.
Ford stood in front of his previous residence of not even a half an hour ago, tapping his pen against his chin.
Nope. Still looked the same as it ever did.
The building was shorter than the other ones around it, which was bound to draw eyes, so his father had basically taken advantage of it. He'd put up all kinds of eye-catching paraphernalia around the place, like pointing hands and bright colors, to advertise the shop. The dirtied window showcased watches, a chandelier, a trophy, and stuff of a similar caliber. Up above was a giant chess piece as suggested by Ma, since it was weird- making it stand out. No one had giant pawns on top of their roofs.
The sidewalk was covered in tiny flecks of sand and dirt and trash, the streetlight was just off-center enough to drive Stanford nuts, and the silver bin they kept in the alley looked full. Same as it ever was.
After taking a moment to just drink it in, Ford darted off to the left-side alley. There wasn't much down there, just brick walls and trash. And no Stanley.
Same with the right side. Ford crossed his arms, scrutinizing the alley as best as he could. Candy wrappers crunched under his shoe as he tapped his foot. See, he wasn't an expert by any means, so trying to figure out what was a clue and what wasn't was hard. Like, he didn't know what to look for. Did that mean there were no clues, or they were just going over Ford's head?
A small gust of wind blew by, rustling the half-crumpled cardboard sticking out of the trashcan. It didn't blow out, but it was enough to make Ford realize that this was probably a dead end.
He crossed off Pines Pawns.
The bell rang as Ford stepped into the restaurant. The next-door business, Hot Belgian Waffles, was always a favorite of Stanley's when they could afford to eat there. Their pancakes were fluffy as a cloud, butter smooth and melt-y, and their syrup was sweet. Of course, the best meal was the waffles, which were just cooked enough to be crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Add some strawberries on top with some butter and syrup and you were golden.
Ford took a couple steps inside, trying not to get too swept up by the smells. This was probably a bad time to realize he hadn't eaten anything before leaving the house. The aroma was positively divine.
While he loitered by the front door, most of the patrons continued eating and chatting. However, he did see a few glance his way, who were quick to squint at him disapprovingly. He looked down at the floor. More wooden flooring. Cozy.
A waitress spotted him. She was a taller woman, with dark curls circling her round face. She took care of the couple she was serving, jotting something down, before walking up to Ford. She smiled widely, just enough to look friendly but not enough to look genuine.
"Well now, if it isn't one of the Pines Pawns boys!" she greeted, voice syrupy sweet. "Just you today, sugar?"
"Oh, um, I'm not gonna order," Ford told her somewhat sheepishly, pretending he didn't see her smile falter. "I'm looking for my brother."
"The other one? Can't say I've seen him today." She placed her hands on her hips. "Say, what's with the outfit? You playing handyman or somethin'?"
"Oh," Ford looked down at himself, realizing how out-of-place he looked now with his belt, backpack, and bindle. "No, I'm… treasure hunting." He shrugged, making eye contact and smiling and remaining calm and not sweating. "You never know what you'll need for that."
The waitress looked like the impossible cross between disappointed and overjoyed to hear that. "I see. Well, if he comes around, I'll put in a good word for you."
Ford visibly relaxed. "Thank you, ma'am."
"Don't mention it. Though, per company policy, I am going to hafta ask you to stop loitering in the doorway."
"Right. Goodbye, miss!"
"Good luck!" She waved him out as he reached up to the door handle and pulled. It was heavier than the Pines Pawns door- must be made of better materials. Either that or the gold handle really was gold.
As Ford stepped back out, he crossed Hot Belgian Waffles off the list.
If his intuition was right, his next stop should be his last.
Ford lifted up the tarp, stepping inside the rickety old boat with a smile. "Stanley! I…" he trailed off, face falling as he took in the empty expanse. "...found you."
Nothing. The box of nails they forgot to bring home were still there, their footprints were untouched aside from the inarguable influence of gravity, and nothing looked more broken than it had yesterday.
Ford pushed the tarp back all the way, slowly stepping inside through the broken side of the ship. Each noise he made didn't echo so much as it was immediately thrown back at him, amplifying it. It made the silence even thicker.
"Stanley…?" Ford called out tentatively. "You in here?"
The crashing of the waves nearby served as his only answer.
Stepping back out, his eyes took a second to adjust to the light. Maybe he fell asleep on the deck? The stairs weren't usable inside yet, making it hard to get up there, but the boys had noticed that some of the planks on the side stuck out at just the right angles to form a makeshift ladder. Ford set his bindle down, taking each step carefully as he scaled the side of the craft.
Up on top now, he had a much better view of the beach. No one was here, which wasn't surprising for this time of year, but it was still eerie. Ford found himself tensing his shoulders as he glanced around.
Okay, logic. If Stanley wasn't at the boat, then he could feasibly be anywhere. Or, maybe he had been staying at the boat, got bored, and wandered off? That sounded like a Stanley thing to do. Or maybe he went to play in the ocean and got dragged out by the undercurrent again? Or maybe the Jersey Devil found him?
The more he stood there and thought about where his brother might be, the more Ford found himself getting lost in worry. He gripped the straps of his backpack tighter, scanning again, slower this time, to see if he could see any trace of his brother along the shore.
Waves lapped at the sand lazily, seagulls screeched. Cars drove by not too far away. The long, thin grasses further up the beach rustled against each other in the wind. But no loud whooping or sounds of destruction.
"Okay, okay, this is okay," Stanford said to himself. "He's probably around here somewhere. He probably… went to go get ice cream. Yeah." That was reassuring! And delicious.
His body didn't stop shaking.
He groaned, throwing his head back. "When I find Stanley, I'm throwing him into the ocean myself," he grumbled.
Taking a deep breath, Ford walked over to the side of the boat where he'd left his bindle and jumped back down. He landed softly in the sand, having done this a couple of times now. It did send a shock up his joints, but it was nothing he couldn't handle.
"Okay, Stanford, just think." He slung the little stick-bag over his shoulder again and began to pace around the boat. "If he wanted to meet you here, he would NOT be here." He threw his free hand out for emphasis. "He's too restless for that. So the best choice would be to stay and wait for him. But…" he trailed off, glancing down the beach. "...if he's not here, then you're wasting more time."
He hummed, trying to calm the storm brewing in his mind. "Maybe…"
Ford gasped, then smacked himself in the head. Duh!
There was one other place on the beach Stanley might be. Stanford quickly took off, heading north.
Let it be known that Stanford Pines did not give up easily. Heck, he still had a bunch of other places to be searching! But his earlier hypothesis of the two of them walking circles around each other was starting to become more clear. Which meant, one of them had to stand still and wait for the other to catch up. And since Stanley could not, for the life of him, stand still, it looked like Ford was going to be the one to do that.
He sat forlornly on his seat, gazing off into the waves. It was going on five hours since he started searching, and while adults would tell him that that wasn't very long at all, to Ford, it felt like he'd been going all day. Paired with the worry building in his guts that was slowly rising towards his chest, he was feeling exhausted.
He'd already checked the park, and the boardwalk (he'd walked up and down it three times), and he'd made sure to find that ice cream place and ask about Stanley there. Nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing. No one had seen him, no one had heard him, no one had anything to tell!
There were too many variables and not enough information. He could spend the entire day running around in circles and that would solve nothing. He just had to trust that Stanley had come looking for Ford now, too, and they were doing circles. They were both just being silly and overreacting. It was fine. He was fine. They'd see each other by nightfall, since Stanley would go back to the Stan'O'War to camp out for the night, right? Yeah, yeah that was it.
But right now, Ford couldn't find it in him to move. Everything was becoming too much.
His feet dug into the sand under him, and he lightly pushed himself back and forth in a slow swaying motion. His swing made low creaking sounds as he did.
Stanley's swing was silent.
Sunset was still about two hours away this time of year, so he had time to just… breathe. Calm down, refocus. Stanley was on his way.
"Oh, and now what do we see here?"
Ford tensed at the sound of footsteps behind him. He didn't turn to face them yet; he didn't know what to expect. Last time he'd heard those voices, it didn't end well, but it also had been a while, so…?
"Galloping gumshoes, I do believe that's one of the Pines twins! All on his lonesome, apparently." The second voice dripped with fake surprise.
"About time, wouldn't you say, Dickie?"
There were suddenly hands grabbing at the ropes of Ford's swing. Jumping, he turned to look, and found himself sandwiched between the Sibling Brothers. The boys' golden, slicked-back hair shone brightly in the late evening sunlight, and their eyes gleamed with a fire just barely concealed under fake bravado.
The one on his left, who was wearing a blue sweater vest and a white, long-sleeved shirt, nodded. "That I would, Ascot!"
The one on Stanford's right, Ascot, looked nearly identical to his twin in everything but clothing. He was wearing a red sweater with a yellow ascot poking out from beneath the collar of a white shirt. He smirked. "Say now, where is that brother of yours, freak? Not still grounded after the whole golden sticky-fingers incident, is he?" He turned up his brows in mock concern.
Ford shook his head. "N-no, he's- Stanley and I, we were just, uh…" he dug around for something to say. He did not have the time nor the patience for these two right now. He needed to march back to the Stan'O'War as quickly as possible and wait for his twin there. Hopefully he wouldn't be much longer, and if they did pass each other, they'd see it this time since it was getting late and there's no way Stanley wouldn't also be thinking that Ford was either at the swingset or the boat, right? "Just leave me alone!"
As Stanford moved to stand up, Ascot grabbed his jacket sleeve and yanked him back, not hard enough to hurt, but hard enough to knock him back into the seat.
"Oh no you don't, Pines," he glowered. "We still have some unfinished business."
Dickie leaned into Stanford's view, arms crossed. "Yeah. You owe us for the Jersey Devil debacle."
Stanford frowned. "I don't owe you two anything! You tried to get my brother in trouble, and you keep calling me a freak!" He stood up sharply, trying to run again, only to hit the sand as Dickie tripped him. It got under his glasses and in his clothes, but he hardly noticed. He spun around, eyes flicking back and forth between the two boys.
"Outstanding work, Dickie."
"Many thanks, Ascot."
The two of them started towards Stanford. He scrambled backwards, but couldn't seem to get his feet under him.
"You know," Ascot began, "I'm starting to think your brother isn't here, Stanford."
"What, did you finally get tired of him?"
"No…" Stanford looked away, still scooching backwards along the sand. Hopefully they were far enough away from where the broken glass was, he didn't want to get his hands cut up. They only had so many bandaids. "No, he just… he… went to go get ice cream?"
"Ho ho ho!" Dickie placed a hand on his guts in mock laughter. "So he really is gone!"
"No, he isn't!" Stanford stopped, purposefully focusing on his feet as he shakily stood back up. "I'm going to find him!"
"Find him?" Ascot raised a brow. "And he has been missing for…?"
Crap. "Nothing! I mean, never! I know where he is!" Stanford pointed at them both accusingly. "And you better get outta here before he gets back! You don't wanna mess with him, trust me!"
The two gave each other a long look before bursting out laughing. If Ford had to describe it in a word, it'd be "snooty."
"And just what makes you think you can solve any mysteries?" Dickie put his hands on his hips. "If it weren't for you two following us, you would have NEVER discovered the Jersey Devil in the first place!"
"And," Ascot added, stepping closer, attempting to loom over a boy his same height, "you were working as a team. You're alone now, aren't you, freak?"
"Stop calling me that!" Stanford burst out. He jammed his hands into his pockets, hating the feeling of his face heating up. "He's my brother, of course I'll find him! We always find each other!"
Dickie tapped his chin with a finger, rolling his eyes in thought. "You know, Ascot, I've been struck with an idea," he mused, dragging out his words.
"Do tell," Ascot waved a hand at his brother in a grandiose fashion.
"That troublemaker means a lot to six fingers, doesn't he? Perhaps, if we find him first, he'll thank us instead. We could get our reign as Glass Shard Beach's best mystery solvers back!"
"Hey, Stanley would never-"
"I like the sound of that, Dickie!" Ascot turned to smirk at Ford again. "If we found him first, then we would be considered great detectives, cracking a case that not even the so-called Kings of New Jersey could solve on their own!"
"We could restore our reputation" Dickie seemed genuinely excited now. "And get payback at the same time!"
"Righto!"
"Shut up!" Stanford threw his hands up in the air before stomping towards them. "My brother and I can take care of ourselves! You stay out of this!"
"Hah!" Ascot scoffed. "What's the matter, Pines? Afraid you'll lose?"
Ford straightened indignantly. "That's my twin you're talking about! You go stick your noses somewhere else, this is none of your business!"
"Sounds like the game is on," Dickie grinned. He turned on his heel, walking back towards the nearby boardwalk. "Tah tah, Pines, we'll see you on the other side of the proverbial finish line!"
Ascot followed right behind him. "May the best detective win!" He whipped his head around and blew out a raspberry at Ford, leaving the both of them giggling their snooty giggles as they walked their snooty walks back towards civilization.
Ford huffed, hands clenched. He had sand in his hair and in his jacket and shoes and pants and speckled on his glasses and he didn't care. This wasn't some random competition, this was his brother.
Despite himself, Ford crossed his arms. "Oh you'll see," he growled. He marched back over to the swings, grabbing his bindle, and began storming off. He had a boat to catch. "You'll see."

Dag twee in Canada.
Alles is hier in gigantische verpakkingen.

Day two in Canada. Quite a late update, but with little wifi and some trouble with the hour difference, I haven't had much time.
Mum and I arrived late Sunday night (around 4am in Belgium). After a 17 hours trip, we still couldn't believe we were actually in another continent. After a refreshing shower, we pretty much crawled straight into bed.
So it wasn’t a big surprise when we were awake by 4 am (12 pm Belgian time) the next day. After a Canadian breakfast (bagels with cream cheese and waffles) we left for the city.
At 9 o'clock we went to pick up my key, and explored a small part of the campus. Mum found everyone so friendly (it's Canada, eh). At my little apartment, we already met two of my roommates. Jin from Calgary and Haruka from Kyoto,Japan. Apart from a bed and a desk, there's nothing yet, so Mum and I will go to IKEA today.
Mum and I also went to the Canadian supermarket for the first time. Everything here comes in giant packages. (Seriously, who ever needs that much butter?). We wanted to make pasta yesterday, but I fell asleep around 5pm (1am in Belgium). So, no supper, and again waking up early.
Mum is now sitting here over me at the breakfast table reading in my little notebook, in which my friends and family have written sweet messages. She is weeping (because of you, Djim). We are going to get ready to soon. Hopefully I can last a bit longer today without falling asleep.
See you soon!

Moxxie has made Millie breakfast in bed. It's a big breakfast since he knows she's eating for two. Or possibly more. Scrambled eggs, sausage links, Belgian waffles, and a giant cup of her favorite flavor of coffee.
She looks up in bed with a smile on her face, one hand rubbing her swollen middle, while the other was reading a baby book. With a giggle, she stated, "You're so sweet, sug. You've been doing so much for me and the baby."
A lazy flutter motion was gelt against her palm, her tail wagging in delight "They agree."

Chicago
4 April
Helen dropped us at the airport. Thanks Helen!
Our original plan was to fly Auckland to Chicago on Air NZ, which would have been delightful. Almost non-stop! Sadly, Air NZ cancelled its Chicago route four weeks before our flight dates, and we had to fly Auckland to Houston and Houston to Chicago. The flight to Houston (~13 hours) was relatively tolerable, but the slog through TSA (Transportation Safety Authority) took a lot out of us. On our United Airlines flight (~2.4 hours) to Chicago, first the captain was late, then we arrived late, which meant we were banished to what seemed to be the furthest most arrival gate at the airport.
After quarter of an hour trying to buy a train pass (only for the nice ticket man to take pity on us and wave us through), we were about an hour on the train from O'Hare airport to the centre of Chicago, which felt like an aeon. With the jetlag, we were befuddled by a residual sense of NZ time (it should have been mid afternoon) vs our exhaustion, vs local Chicago time (getting on for 10PM). It was also approximately 0 degrees (in mid Spring? What is this place, Siberia?), which was a bit hard to take.
But you know, that's travel. Our hotel, is called Stay Pineapple (an Iconic (TM) hotel, apparently), is an old-fashioned Chicago building, right in the middle of the downtime city. Now it's time to sleep.
5 April
The beds at the Pineapple were magnificent. So soft… my only complaint is that sleep comes so quickly it's impossible to properly enjoy them.
Our first item of business was to visit the Wildberry waffle house not far from the shore of Lake Michigan. On the way there we saw the world-famous Bean, a giant mirror-coated sculpture that enables tourists to photograph themselves on its surface. It was closed for renovation, which Sally chose to take personally.
At the Wildberry we went ape. I ordered the French Toast, Sally the strawberry chocolate Belgian waffles, and Angus the Oreo pancakes. Angus' pancakes were garnished with so much Oreo and white chocolate chip shrapnel that it turned out to be the most formidable meal. The food was tasty but the quantity of it made the consumption a bit heavy going.
After breakfast we caught a bus up to Lincoln Zoo. The zoo looked quite small from the oustide, but had plenty of inmates. Angus' highlight was probably the squirrels outside the zoo, but he did like the Madagascar hissing cockroaches inside it too. Sally was definitely not a fan of the cockroaches, instead preferring the polar bears. Other animals of note: zebras, lowland gorillas, a Bactrian camel, a rattlesnake or two, and a kookaburra. Animals that didn't come outside: two species of rhino, a pygmy hippo, and half an anteater. Also MIA was the sloth Angus had been very much looking forward to seeing.
Lunch was another novelty: all you can eat sushi. It went reasonably well with small pieces of tuna and salmon but when we ordered the "Godzilla" sushi (tempura outside and cream cheesy center) I hit a bit of a wall, esp after the waffle house.
We caught the bus back into town. Jetlag had caught up with us, so we had a bit of a nap. At 5 we ventured out. In the chill of the morning the sky had been overcast, but it was now a bright blue, and the setting sun on the skyscrapers was very attractive indeed. We walked along the river path and took quie a few photos, all of which we were very happy to be posing for.
After sugar for breakfast and protein for lunch, dinner was sandwiches out of a Walgreens, along with a bag of mandarins and Magnolia bakery's banana pudding.
6 April
Today we set out late morning to Wilmette, in the north of Chicago. To get there we needed to travel to the end of the Red Line, and then the extent of the Purple Line of Chicago's "L" (elevated) train service.
Along the way we passed Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Generally the cityscape was dominated by midrise brick apartment blocks, with the odd mall sprinkled in. On the purple line, however, the housing grew more suburban, and the houses increasingly grand.
We'd come to visit the Ba'hai faith Temple, an imposing piece of 20th century architecture. I was a bit leery of Ba'hai as one of our neighbours once fell in to it and ran away from her husband (so my mother told me in hushed tones). So as we approached the visitors' centre I was a bit suspicious. But to be honest the tone of the place was pretty benign; the main message being all religions are one, and all humans are equal. In any event I found their bathroom very relaxing, so I'll say I'm a fan, if not a convert.
The Ba'hai temple was built over 50 years in the first part of the 20th century. It's an imposing building of white concrete studded with quartz chips to make it glitter. Although the building was festooned with the symbols of all the world's great religions, it was most reminiscent of a mosque. I guess the most similar building I've been to would be the Haghia Sophia in Constantinople. The inside of the temple was austere like a Prostestant church, but the dome was again exquisitely carved with patterns like concentric waves.
After visiting the temple we pottered around on the beach of Lake Michigan, enjoying the novelty of looking out over what looks like the sea, but is actually a freshwater lake.
We trundled back to Chicago the way we came. We got out at Chinatown, where we collected a series of snacks from a Cantonese bakery called Chiu Quon. We then caught a water taxi up the Chicago river. It was Golden Hour and we took numerous photos of numerous skyscrapers, before coming home for the night.
7 April
Today was rainy, so it was museum day. The first thing we did was catch a bus to Lou Mitchell's, a hundred year old diner. Gus had pancakes, Sally had a salmon bagel, and I had toast, Sally's bagel, and Gus' pancakes. Gus also got a chocolate shake so thick that it was practically concrete, but much tastier, and half the price of a Starbucks frappe.
From there we caught the 146 bus on to the Field museum, one of the world's greats. The Field's most famous specimen is Sue the T-Rex, the largest of all the Tyrannosaurus skellingtons. It's a sprawling museum, with its Natural History exhibits being the best, though it also has collections of Egyptian, Chinese, and Native American arts.
After several hours at the museum we caught a bus back to town. It was raining heavily and we got quite drenched. Our next stop was a Lou Malnati's Pizzeria (another Lou!) to consume Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. Given the quantities of food we'd been served already I was a bit perturbed we were going to be given portions we couldn't possibly consume, but they turned out to be plausible. As for deep dish pizzas, well I'd liken them to quiches where the egg is replaced with cheese. We had ordered four adult portions, and I managed to eat one portion, but Sally and Gus were well off the pace, and we took home only slightly less than we consumed.
(On the subject of meals, we found that two meals a day in Chicago were sufficient to keep us going.)
The rain had eased, so we decided to wander back to our hotel room. I found downtown Chicago's streets on a rainy Sunday afternoon to be quite peaceful. We came back to our hotel and got to packing and blogging.
8 April
Today was eclipse day! The shadow of the moon was set to wander across the United States. Appropriately, our first port of call in the morning was the Adler Planetarium, a magnificent Art Deco, polished granite construction. Outside it is a heroic statue of Nicolas Copernicus.
We got inside, bought our eclipse glasses, and got Gus an eclipse souvenir t-shirt, before taking a look around at the planetarium proper. The most interesting exhibit for me was centred around astronaut Jim Lovell, who went to the moon twice, but didn't land there because his Apollo 13 mission got into a bit of bother. The exhibit included his earlier two-man Gemini 12 capsule, which was very, very small. He flew for three days with moon-walker Buzz Aldrin, which seems an awfully long time to be stuck in a tin can with another man!
We then went to a planetarium session. Over the years I've been to a few at the Carter Observatory, and I can say Adler's one is a lot more slick (sorry Space Place!). The auditorium was pretty large too.
After that it was time for the eclipse itself. A large collection of people and TV trucks had gathered along the Michigan lakefront adjacent to the Adler. We found a seat by a small beach and peered up through our eclipse glasses. It was my first time seeing the sun through these, and I was impressed by how strongly defined the sun was against the (relative) darkness around it. Eventually Gus spotted a small dimple in the right lower limb of the sun, which marked the moon's presence. The eclipse proceeded to its maximum extent over about two hours, allowing us to do other things while occasionally peering skywards to check the moon's progress. One thing we were able to do was buy several Chicago-style hotdogs. Distinct from their New York cousins, these sandwiches include pickle and peppers. I thought they were pretty good, and I joked to Sally that there was more vegetable matter in these hotdogs that in anything else we'd eaten in Chicago. No offence!
Just after 2pm the eclipse reached its maximum. In Chicago that was 94% of the sun's surface only. On paper that feels like "good enough", and there was only a tiny fingernail clipping still visiable, but suprisingly 6% of the sun's brightness makes a big difference. The sky was still blue, for example. and although the sky was much dimmmer a casual observer might not have noticed the eclipse was happening.
Once we reached maximum, the rest was just what we'd already been through except in reverse, and we had a plane to catch. So we skipped the rest of the cosmic marvel and hurried back to our hotel to collect our bags. On the way we caught a section of the L train that is actually elevated above the streets rather than trundling beneath them. Bags collected, we caught the blue line back to O'Hare airport for an early evening flight to Iceland.

Brussels, the capital city of Belgium, is a charming and historic city that offers visitors a unique mix of cultural experiences, delicious food, and beautiful architecture. From the Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the famous Atomium, there is no shortage of things to see and do in Brussels. If you are considering a trip to Brussels, here are some tips to help you plan your visit.
Getting There
Brussels is conveniently located in the heart of Europe and is easily accessible by air, rail, and road. The city's international airport, Brussels Airport (BRU), is located approximately 12 kilometers northeast of the city center and is serviced by many major airlines. If you prefer to travel by train, Brussels is well-connected to other major cities in Europe, with frequent high-speed train services available. You can also reach Brussels by car, as the city is located at the crossroads of several major highways.
Exploring the City
Brussels is a walkable city, and many of the top attractions are located within walking distance of each other. Start your visit in the Grand Place, the city's main square and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you can admire the stunning architecture of the surrounding buildings, including the Gothic-style Town Hall and the Baroque-style Maison du Roi. The square is also home to many cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops, making it a great place to relax and soak up the atmosphere.
After exploring the Grand Place, head to the nearby Manneken Pis, a small bronze statue of a urinating boy that has become a symbol of Brussels. From there, you can walk to the Royal Palace of Brussels, the official residence of the King of Belgium. The palace is open to the public during the summer months, and guided tours are available.
If you have more time to spend in Brussels, consider visiting the Atomium, a unique structure that was built for the 1958 World Expo. The Atomium is a giant steel atom that stands 102 meters tall and offers panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. Other popular attractions include the Museum of Fine Arts, the Belgian Comic Strip Center, and the Parc du Cinquantenaire, a beautiful park that features several museums and monuments.
Food and Drink
Belgian cuisine is known for its delicious waffles, chocolates, and beers, and Brussels is no exception. Be sure to sample some of the local specialties during your visit, including the famous Belgian fries, which are traditionally served with mayonnaise or a variety of sauces. You should also try the mussels, which are typically served in a white wine broth, and the carbonade flamande, a beef stew that is cooked with beer.
When it comes to drinks, Belgium is famous for its beer, and Brussels has many great bars and pubs where you can sample some of the best. Some of the most popular Belgian beers include Duvel, Chimay, and Leffe, but there are many others to choose from. If you prefer wine, Belgium produces a range of excellent wines, including reds, whites, and sparkling wines.

If you are on a tight budget, consider staying in one of the many hostels or budget hotels that are located throughout the city. If you prefer a more luxurious experience, there are many high-end hotels that offer all the amenities you could want, including spas, fitness centers, and fine dining restaurants.

To be of Service
(Kirumi Tojo x Korekiyo Shinguji)
CW/// very mild / soft feeding kink, weight gain. (In later chapters), They/them pronouns for Kiyo
(I thought I could potentially write this one out, I don’t pride myself in writing, and quite frankly this is my first attempt at fanfic, let alone kink. Anyways, I’m choosing Kiyo as the partner in this scenario as they were the one I initially had in mind.)
Chapter 1: The Rude Awakening
Kirumi was asleep alone in the double love hotel bed with only rumpled satin sheets at her side. The situation presented itself when a small sliver of light escaped from the heavy red velvet drapes as the air conditioner pushed them open ever so slightly. Finding herself roused from her slumber, she turned to find that her lover was no longer at her side, not unusual considering their penchant for waking early and getting in a full beauty routine long before the morning announcement. Confused by the silence in the room, the screeching call of the alarm clock absent from the equation, She fumbled for the monopad left on the bedside table to check the time. Under no circumstances was it acceptable for Kirumi Tojo, the ultimate maid, to sleep in.
Fuck. Breakfast was supposed to be finished two hours earlier. Kirumi decided there was no time to waste getting tied up in her feelings about the situation. After getting ready as fast as humanly possible, she is rationalized what would be her best plan of action. She would make her way to the dining hall, apologize profusely to everyone who she could only imagine were angry with her negligence, and get to the bottom of who dared turning off her alarm.
As the frazzled Kirumi made her way down the hall towards the dining area, she was struck with the scent of baked goods. Pancakes? Perhaps the Belgian waffles she had planned the night before? The thick, smoky aroma of bacon pervaded next. Someone must have gone through the meal plans she had carefully written out in advance and take their preparation into their own, most likely less capable, hands.
It wasn’t long before she -quite literally- ran into the clumsy gentle giant, Gonta Gokuhara.
“Oh my, are you okay, Gokuhara-kun? My sincere apologies, I was just on my way to prepare breakfast. Whatever are you doing awake at this hour?”
Gonta adjusted his glasses and moved a strand of his tangled hair from his face.
“Oh- Gonta is okay. No need to worry, Tojo-kun. I thought it would be best to observe the local species of butterfly when the morning dew is still present. Butterflies are generally more active at dawn. Anyway, I thought you were already starting breakfast, but if you’re here - who is cooking?”
“That’s exactly what I was on my way to find out. My apologies for waking up late to prepare today’s breakfast, though it’s quite possible that someone else has that covered.”
“No worries, Tojo-kun. Gonta think maybe it is best that Tojo-kun have a break from all of the chores. Thank you for taking care of us, Tojo-kun”
“You are most welcome, however the service I provide is the very least I can do, given our current situation. Well, I had best be on my way, pleasure speaking with you Gokuhara-kun.”
“Good to see you as well, Tojo-kun”
Kirumi opened the doors to the dining hall, the popping sound of frying bacon and the sweet aroma filled the air. She finally made it to the kitchen, opening the door to see Kiyo, completely startled, their hair tied back in a loose braid, revealing their slender bandage-wrapped neck, and an apron double wrapped around their delicate frame. They recoiled at the surprise of Kirumi entering unannounced - it’s very unlike her to enter a room without knocking, they reasoned.
Kiyo’s eyes widened in surprise “Well, I’ll be. You’re awake? After all you put yourself through yesterday, I thought for sure that you’d be asleep well into the afternoon. This really puts a damper on my plans, You see-“
“I do.” Kirumi uncharacteristically cut them off, as she disapprovingly peered over at the ornate silver tray. It had been topped with its own china cup and saucer, french press, cream pitcher, tiny spoon and sugar bowl. Of course there was also the ensemble of golden brown waffles topped with berries, a dusting of powdered cinnamon sugar, and thick cream; with a side plate consisting of thick slabs of bacon, grilled sausage links, and two eggs sunny side up. The audacity they had to attempt to pamper her in such a way, taking her from the fulfillment gained by serving others was-sickeningly sweet?
With the unusual circumstances of the day thus far, she figured she could approach things with more laxity. The maid took a deep breath so as not to appear cross to her concerned lover.
“My apologies. I couldn’t help waking when I had, but to invalidate your efforts would be unforgivable. I suppose that bringing the tray to me is no longer an option, which must disappoint you so. I’m still fully of the mindest that I am meant to be in your service, however it would be wrong of me to not entertain your well wishes.”
“My dear, you owe me absolutely nothing. No apologies whatsoever. Do I make myself clear?”
Kirumi, taken off guard nodded. “V-very well”
“Now that we’ve established that, allow me to serve the class this morning. Carry on as you will. Your plate is already made, cara mia. Enjoy.”
They brushed past towards the counter to serve the line of fellow students beginning to accumulate, silky hair swaying behind them.
“W-wait. You can’t possibly expect me to finish this whole portion? I appreciate the generosity, but do you not suppose this is a bit much?”
Korekiyo was frozen in their tracks, flushed cheeks conveniently concealed beneath their trademark mask.
“N-never. Nothing could possibly be enough-“, they stammered, “to express the depths of my love.”
(To be continued)
The feeder potential that Kirumi holds is undeniable, yes.
Kirumi checking in on all of her fellow classmates to make sure everyone has been eating.
Kirumi, whose nurturing instincts run on overdrive 24/7.
Kirumi cooking extra portions for certain students who really need it 😏 (Kiyo, Kokichi, Shuichi….)
But has anyone stopped to consider…feedee Kirumi?
I get it, she lives to serve everyone else, but at some point, someone has to pick up on the fact that she doesn’t take care of herself. Like. At all.
I picture Kirumi’s SO shutting off her alarm to wake up and cook breakfast one morning, and do it themselves, bringing her plate to her in bed and making her take it easy for the day as much as she hates it.
Just them making a habit of taking on more and more of her duties, and giving her time to rest and indulge herself.
Kirumi with a soft, motherly figure who finally takes as much care of herself as she does for everyone else.

@who-is-muses
When Harvey opened the door to his office on the first day of his new job, the first thing to greet him was a range of smells similar to a buffet table all set for Sunday brunch at a nice diner. The next thing to greet him was the sight of his best friend of several years, Bruce Wayne, turning towards the door in surprise after having lost track of time while obsessing over the smallest, perfectionistic details he wanted to get right before the other man arrived.
"Harvey?" Bruce glanced at the clock above the door, confirming that it was in fact time for his friend's shift to start soon. "Shit. Um... Surprise!?" Despite his own self-consciousness regarding his preparations, everything looked immaculate and over the top. Tea lights set atop miniature scales of justice were strewn about the room, safely distanced from anything flammable, of course, and a pair of detachable sconces containing a pot of algerian ivy were hung on the two side walls. Behind his friend's new desk was a large, round blackboard with "Congratulations Harvey!" written on it in an elegant font, and framing the whole thing was a giant golden laurel wreath. Off to the side was the true center of attention, though: a banquet cart supporting a larger set of scales, each tray laden with an assortment of food.
On the left, the dishes included grits and eggs with fried bologna, creamy mushroom and brie croissant sandwiches, bananas foster belgian waffles, cinnamon rolls, tahitian vanilla bean souffle with salted caramel anglaise, bourbon pecan cream cheese stuffed french toast, and buttermilk biscuits with sides of butter and sausage gravy. Underneath the tray, there was a chafing fuel can to keep everything warm. Such a thing wasn't present under the right tray, though, which contained chilled or room temperature foods, like chocolate-dipped strawberries, banana slices with a chocolate peanut butter ganache dipping sauce, coffee crumb cake, white chocolate raspberry scones, and a bowl of fresh raspberries and sliced strawberries with whipped cream. To the side of that tray, there was also a bucket of ice containing a bottle of Dom Perignon dated the year of Harvey's birth and a few pitchers of various juices. Meanwhile, the warmed tray had beside it a pot of coffee, a thermal carafe containing steamed milk, a tin of hot cocoa mix, a few jars of various syrups and toppings, and a ceramic cup containing a recently-made salted caramel latte with a laurel wreath drawn in the foam on top, a design which Bruce had spent months perfecting each time he made himself coffee at his own office.
Speaking of Bruce, the man himself looked nowhere near as elegant as everything he'd set up. Having gotten no sleep at all between the previous night's patrol and the extensive time spent in the kitchen this morning, his eyes were accented with a prominent pair of dark circles. He was sweaty and disheveled from running around to get everything done in time, leaving several strands of his otherwise slicked-back hair hanging in front of his face. To keep from over-heating, his shirt was only half-buttoned with the sleeves rolled up, and while his suit jacket hung neatly from the coat rack at the door, his tie hung loosely over his shoulders. He'd hoped to have the time to make himself look more presentable before Harvey arrived, but instead, he quite literally appeared to be a hot mess.
"Oh, um, these are for you!" Bruce blurted suddenly, stepping aside to reveal an ornate glass vase containing a bouquet of red and blue pansies on Harvey's desk. His new position also revealed a lock-picking kit he'd set aside there earlier, as well as a microwave and mini fridge tied up with red ribbon next to some filing cabinets against the back wall, but he was too tired and nervous about his friend's reaction to comment on, or even pay attention to any of that. A fiery pink haze spread across his cheeks as that nervousness shifted to embarrassment over the dawning realization that he'd likely overdone things.
"This isn't too much, is it?"

༑ ࿐ྂ。Lee Heesung
- Karaoke
Sitting on the couch of the private karaoke room, exhausted having just sung and danced all of I Can’t Stop Me, Heesung reaches out to take some of the kimbap you had made together before karaoke happened, kind of like two dates in one day. Since he was always busy, he wanted to spend the most amount of time he could with you this weekend, in case he couldn’t meet you the next. Heesung always did a great job of making you feel loved and appreciated, and today he especially wanted to give all his love and attention to you.
“We should rap all of Canceled in one breathe” Heesung suggests, knowing it was a whole three minute song. Although you know you’d die, you nod excitedly, ready to shout at the top of your lungs “THIS YOU?” because Tana definitely gets canceled every 5-7 business days. He starts off the song, both screaming at the top of your lungs, starting off with Bryce Hall 😼. The song goes very swimmingly actually, definitely taking more than one or two breathes.
Taking a call from your phone, you step outside so as to not disturb the caller with Shake it Off. Your mother wanted you home soon, but you desperately wanted to spend more time with Heesung. Stepping back into the room, you decide one more song is short enough to catch the last train home, you grab the remote and pick your last song, Perfect. It was definitely slower paced than the songs you had sang before but you wanted to have at least one moment of romance before it’s completely dead. Taking your hands, he wraps them around his neck and places his hands on your hips and sways side to side as he sings every word beautifully. Even if you could sing as good as him, he was always so hypnotizing when he sang to you. Ending the song with a kiss, you guys both pull away, very sad at the fact that the night has come to an end.
THE REST ARE UNDER THE CUT!!
༑ ࿐ྂ。Jay Park
- Aquarium
- Aquarium
Walking through the hallways hand in hand, you enjoy each other’s presence while admiring all the children excited about the stingray that just swam by. Watching Jay’s face light up when he had finally found the sea otters, you giggle at how cute it was. “Look at all the baby sea otters, Y/n, they’re so cute ahhhh'' He says eagerly. Pulling out your phone to take a picture of him, he grabs your hand and takes your phone. “No, Y/n, we have to take this picture togetherrrr.” he whines. Sighing, you agree and wait for him to find someone to help take the picture for him, obviously right next to the sea otters.
Continuing down the aquarium building, you find the automatic sliding door leading to the outside. Knowing exactly what lies beyond those doors, you pull Jay’s hand and rush out. As a kid, you loved coming to the aquarium to spend time at the petting tank, and now you got to experience it with Jay. Finding a spot at the tank, you dip your hand in and touch the bamboo sharks. You sigh in relief at the nostalgia of it, and turn your head to Jay. “Don’t you want to touch them too?” You ask innocently. Faced flushed, he frantically shakes his head, giving you a blatant no.
Laying your head on his shoulder, you bask in his presence, exhausted by the exciting day you had. Turning on his phone to check the time, you notice he’d set his lockscreen to you. “Did you take that while I was petting the sharks?” Embarrassed, he turns away and avoids the question. “HEY, I could take a picture of you alone for my wallpaper but you could??? Why is this so unfair???” you ask.
“Because…” He says with a sheepish smile on his face. You quickly take out your phone and snap a picture. After a moment of playful fighting and begging to delete the photo on Jay’s end, he ultimately gave up and let you save it as your lock screen as well.

༑ ࿐ྂ。Jake Sim
- Laser tag
Having Jake as a partner, he’d always taken you on more high energy, adrenaline rushing dates, and today was no different. This date, however, he decided to take you to play laser tag, something you had never done before. Entering the lobby, you both decide to be on the same team for the first round, which helped you feel a bit of relief. Choosing a vest to put on, you get very very tangled in it, which causes Jake to laugh a bit but he eventually helps you out.
During your first round, Jake helps you out, staying by your side the entire time and even holding your hand to lead you through the room. It felt really nice, seeing him so protective of you in the moment, but you knew better than to like the thought of it too much, because the next round was going to be a lot different. Unexpectedly, your team lost, which made Jake feel even more competitive and pumped up for the next round.
The next round starts, and surprise!!!!! You and Jake are on opposing teams. It starts off very well actually :D. As soon as you enter the room, your heart starts beating out of your chest and you’re so nervous to be alone. Cautiously maneuvering through the hallways, you scan the premises thoroughly, knowing if Jake ever sees you throughout the game you’d be screwed. Surprisingly enough, you go a bit of time before you hear your vest’s alarm go off, signalling to you that someone has gotten you. You look all around you taking some time before finding Jake crouching on the other side of the wall. You run to the other side of the same wall, and decide to scare him before he could shoot you again. It works out very well, because the next time you see him, he screams and drops to the floor in shock. Taking this chance, you shoot his vest and run away, leaving him no time to get you back.

༑ ࿐ྂ。Park Sunghoon
- Birthday Party
Laying on the floor of your living room with Sunghoon, you lie on your back, trying to cool your body down as much as possible. The hot and humid Korean summers were definitely always fun, but not when you were craving cuddles. Thinking of activities the both of you could do without overheating, you think back to how refreshing all the ice cream was at your friend’s recent birthday party. Although it wasn’t even close to your guys’ birthdays, it gave you a great idea. You shoot up and rush to get dressed, leaving Sunghoon very confused.
Finished, you come back to the living room. “Sunghoon, get dressed. We’re going to the market.” Without question, he does as you ask and you both head to the market in no time.
Walking hand in hand down the ice cream aisle, you grab all the flavors you enjoy, filling your whole basket with different ice creams, toppings, fruit, drinks, and even a cake. “You’re quite hungry, aren’t you?” Sunghoon teases, earning him a slap to the arm.
As soon as you get home, you send Sunghoon alone to the bedroom, telling him you need time to prepare everything. You had pulled all the stops, whipping out the cheap snoopy shaved ice maker, birthday party hats, streamers, balloons, and banners. It was no one’s birthday in particular, but the fake birthday party put you in a festive and refreshing mood. You had set up a giant ice cream sundae bar, and had even made lemonade.
Calling Sunghoon to come out of the bedroom, he was not surprised but very appreciative. He knew you’d pull sh!t like this Wanting to make it even more fun, he suggests to make sundaes for one another, which you happily agree to. The day was so fun, you had forgotten all about the time you had a few hours earlier, suffering in the heat of your apartment.
Sunghoon on the other hand, was so happy that you planned something like this. He was never one to do anything cute for you unless you asked, begged so this time he wanted to show you how grateful he was to you by giving you one FREE boop on the nose. Scooping some ice cream with his fingertip, he lightly taps your nose, leaving the melted strawberry ice cream to drip off your nose.

༑ ࿐ྂ。Kim Sunoo
- Brunch
Being a foodie yourself, you and Sunoo would always go cafe hopping to try out different desserts and drinks. This Saturday morning in particular, you both decided it was time for a change. This change for the greater good would include brunching for hours like stuck up rich moms and judging everyone in the facility, as you do when you are a brunching mother. Dressing in your finest brunching attire and of course, sunglasses, your waiter leads you to the table and you strut down that walkway like you know the difference between regular and Belgian waffles.
Crossing your legs at the same time and sipping your orange juice, wishing you could have added some champagne. Your orders finally arrive, having ordered the classic avocado toast and eggs benedict. Starting with the avocado toast, as per tradition, you and Sunoo construct the perfect first bite, shove it into your mouths, make eye contact and a disgusted face, even though it was very obvious that you guys thought it was delicious.
“I feel they nailed the seasoning because avocado, egg, and bread are known to be very bland flavors. The poached egg was perfectly runny in the middle, which was so satisfying to me, especially knowing that the chef can actually cook an egg right.” You start off, pretending you were some high status food critic, above Gordon Ramsey almost.
Sunoo takes his spoon and splits apart the poached egg on the eggs benedict. The egg just so happened to be a tad bit overcooked and the yolk didn’t rush out as smoothly as the other one did. You make eye contact with Sunoo, the most disgusted look plastered on your faces. A couple seconds pass by and you burst out laughing, forgetting about the egg yolk and shoving a huge bite straight into your face.
Tumblr media
༑ ࿐ྂ。Yang Jungwon
- Zoo
When you first suggested going to the zoo with Jungwon he looked at you with a confused face. He loved spending time with you, but why the zoo? It’s stinky and there are too many children everywhere. Nevertheless, after much convincing, he gave in and went with you. The screams of all the tiny children were giving him a headache, but he kept reminding himself he was here for you. Seeing the alligators first, it was definitely acting up and snapping its mouth very angrily and hissing. Just because he wanted to be nice by coming to the zoo with you, didn’t mean he was going to hold back on his snide remarks.
“That’s you that one time I accidentally ate your pastry.” He comments. Rolling your eyes and smacking him in the arm, you continue on the path looking at all the animals in awe. The whole time you walked around you bickered back and forth, many “That’s you when/cause”s being thrown around mercilessly.
The comment that took the cake and left both of you speechless was one made by you. Walking towards the flamingos, everyone knows them for being notoriously stinky. Pinching your nose to go with the comment you were about to say, you chuckle. “It smells like that one time you accidentally farted in your VLive.” you manage to get out with a straight face. I made that up lol
Jungwon stops in his tracks, looking at you like you had just betrayed him. .He stomps his feet on the floor and whines in the middle of the walkway. “Y/nnnnnn you know I’m sensitive about thatttt.” The time you spend with him after you get home consists of him clinging to you, demanding your undivided attention, cuddles and kissies, and for you to blow dry his hair after he showers.

༑ ࿐ྂ。Nishimura Riki
- eating competition
Watching mukbangs all day and cuddling with Niki definitely got both of you hungry pretty quickly. With Niki being a bit homesick and you wanting to improve your cooking, a great idea pops into your heads. You wanted to cook Japanese food for Niki, hoping to aid his homesickness, and Niki wanted to see how much food he could shove down his face until he explodes. And with that, your whole date had become a food eating competition.
Setting all the food down on the table, you had done a very good job. Working your ass off to make not only omurice with curry, but also yakisoba and fried chicken, you were very ready to start your whole competition. Portioning it out evenly with a scale beforehand, you and Niki countdown together and start scarfing down food like you’ve never eaten before. With a mouth full of rice, Niki manages to get out a “It’s really good.” Knowing he liked your food made you feel so proud even though you had just shoved a whole piece of fried chicken in your mouth.
Several minutes, three enhypen members walking past you judgmentally, and 10 napkins later, you and Niki were too stuffed you even have food this close to you. Queue the rest of the enhypen members, they oh so generously gave you their service and finished the food for you guys. Concluding that you and Niki could not in fact eat two family sized meals in one sitting, you lie on the couch about to pass out.
“That was so fun. We should do that again.” Niki says while groaning from stomach pain. “And thank you for thinking about my homesickness and making me Japanese food. I love you so much.” He adds. Ending the day with complaining about being too full, planning the next competition, and even inviting the other members, you both pass out an hour after you had eaten and were punished with the dishes in the morning for being cringely in love out in the open like that.

Greetings from the front Terp few Donella
That is weasel speak which you should understand, weasel lover. I saw your favorite gas bubble hanging around the touch and go, just basically being a giant pest and drinking too much dirty water, which everybody knows is not too smart of a trick when you are thin as a broken weeping willow tree branch and calling for a mercy shunt to take you to the promised land there, weasel lover. Do not think me and my friends are not savvy to your grimy tricks. Me and the skeletons were dancing up a storm and rattling a few bones to ’ rock the casbah’ down Juarez way next to the juke joint along highway 41 by your best friends sisters phone booth heaven. Remember that story? Well anyway, that is when your helicopter girls dropped in to pretty much steal everything they could grab that was not attached to someone or something. which means they grabbed my little monkey friend, Fredo. Fredo and I have been through a lot of mud and wine together, its daily shot of whiskey, toe and temple rub. I tell you it gets agitated if it gets knocked off its routine. I do not want you to be responsible for the loss of any monkey juice, so my advice to you would be contact your helicopter friends and tell them just let Fredo go. It has a tendency to start gnawing on women’s kneecaps when it is without for too long and really does not care who it offends or pisses on. You could just stuff it in the nearest mailbox that you do not need a key to open. I know what you are thinking, but do not worry about Fredo, it will not suffocate; it is part Belgian waffle, so it has a little toaster stuffing in its genes. My advice is set Fredo free, your helicopter friends will have that small debt from 1982 erased from my memory, and I will not mention any of this to the command in control. A word to the wise here, weasel lover, do not disappoint your next of kin who love you more than rags rubbing jerk chicken breasts on a jamaican holiday for those hair challenged bobo’s at the bar. Got it, get it! Remember me to your cork sniffing friend, Humpo, and tell him I still have the greens from the Saleno’s bakery counter that he passed on last Tuesday afternoon when it was raining horned frogs from hell and dead-eyed dolls, yeah dolls. Love to all your plastic friends and barn mates,                                          Fifth in Command,                                                                                                                         Basil Fassad
