With the project finally finished (Y/n) drove to her new house, a giddy sensation bubbling within her. As she drove down the long gravel driveway, her excitement intensified as she finally seen the house, after passing the thicket of trees. "It's perfect." (Y/n) murmured to herself as she parked her vehicle, hoping out as soon as she cut the engine. It truly was her perfect dream house, practically straight outta her dreams. With an excited giggle she rushed for the front door, unlocking it and quickly toured the interior. "I love it!" (Y/n) cried out with a laugh, her voice echoing through the house.

That night her sleep was restless, tossing and turning the entire night. Nightmares plaguing her mind, of a man begging and pleading for his life, later drowning in a trick tank. When she finally woke up that morning, she sluggishly wondered into the kitchen, making herself a simple breakfast. As she sat eating she jumped in fright, having thought she seen someone out of the corner of her eye. However when she didn't find anyone, she chalked it up to her tired brain playing tricks on her. But while she was doing up the dishes she used, she noticed a man wondering around outside of her house. So with minor annoyance she dried off her hands and exited her house, approaching the man with the intent to tare him a new one for being on her property.

"Excuse me." (Y/n) called out, freezing in her tracks when he turned to face her. It was the man from her dream, the man she watched beg for his life then drown. "Y-you." She stammered taking in his appearance. "Yes?" He tilted his head, checking her out as she had him. "Who are you?" (Y/n) asked with a frown. "Dandy Mott." He held his head high, clearly proud of who he is. His name struck a bell, remembering that was one of the names of the people murdered on her property some time ago. "Are you a ghost?" (Y/n) asked without much thought. "Unfortunately." He pouted in a huff, crossing his arms.

Weeks have gone by and day in, and day out she spent her free time with Dandy. Talking about what happened to him, what kind of life he lived, and why he did what he did. She felt for him despite the horrid thing he'd done, and she understood him better than anyone ever had in his life. Due to this Dandy found himself rather attached to her, practically obsessing over her to a dangerous degree. But (Y/n) didn't care much about this, finding his company to endearing and comforting.

A/N: i’m sorry this took so long! i’ve just been overwhelmed lately and suffering from, you guessed it, writer’s block. this made me want to watch freak show for the third time, i love that season so much...anyway, i hope you enjoy! :)

IMPORTANT NOTE: this request originally asked for a male!reader’s perspective. however, more than half way through, i realized i hadn’t mentioned any specific pronouns to designate the reader and that there were no details that implied their gender. i decided to change it to a gender neutral perspective so anyone (including a male reader) could read it. i hope you understand!

Eight months ago, you met the most caring and thoughtful person, Jimmy Darling. Never in your entire life had you ever encountered such a selfless and considerate soul. His laughter was unbelievably contagious and his charm so strong. His sole presence lit up any room instantly.

You first saw him when you attended Fräulein Elsa’s Cabinet of Curiosities or in other words, the town’s freak show. The idea of spending actual money to watch people perform and be treated like circus animals made you sick. They were still human no matter how they looked or what deformities they possessed, but your parents thought otherwise. They insisted it would be amusing and a ‘nice outing’.

You went anyway, the idea of defying your parents way too risky. Little did you know, that that evening, you’d meet the person who would soon become the light of your life.

From the moment he stepped on stage, you were immediately captivated. His chestnut curls drooped down over his forehead. And his eyes, despite being dark, shone under the stage lights. You didn’t notice anything unusual about him until he removed his hands from behind his back.

“These pinchers dont hold me back,” he exclaimed cheerfully. “Watch me juggle!”

The ‘pinchers’ in question resembled exactly that. They were quite large and his index and middle finger fused together as well as his ring and little finger.

The crowd oohed and aahed but you remained mostly unfazed. You studied his face a little longer, sensing something was off. Behind that joyful, cheery facade he looked unhappy, almost embarrassed.

His gaze caught yours as he wrapped up his performance, offering a smile to the audience (which you now knew wasn’t genuine) and showing off his abnormal hands one last time. Later that night, you introduced yourself to Jimmy Darling and entered his atypical, curious world.

Sitting on one of the squeaky wooden chairs, you watched and absentmindedly listened as Bette and Dot practiced their singing for the upcoming show. Rehearsals had eventually become tedious and repetitive, since you never participated in the performances.

Your job was to sell tickets, and sell tickets you did. You also welcomed the spectators as they entered the show’s grounds, plastering on the biggest grin you could possibly muster.

You loved spending time and bonding with everyone but it was getting old. So old, you’d sometimes miss the show and wait in the makeup tent until you had to escort the audience out.

A quick peck to your cheek pulled you out of your thoughts and you blinked, your eyes readjusting to the intense show lights. You looked up and saw Jimmy watching you intently, waiting for you to react to his presence. He looked concerned when you didn’t respond and sat down next to you, wrapping his arms around your frame.

“Everythin’ alright, sweetheart?” Jimmy asked, cocking his head to the side.

You didn’t want to worry him so you simply nodded. What would you even tell him? That you were unhappy? That was false. You just craved something exciting...new.

“I’m fine, Jimmy. Really, I was just lost in thought that’s all,” you reassured him.

“Will you come to the show tonight, then?” Jimmy asked, pouting at you. He knew you couldn’t possibly refuse him, especially when he made that adorable face. You paused, feigning considering his offer before assuring him you were only teasing. “If you insist.”

He opened his mouth, most likely to make a witty comment, but you shut him up. You brushed your thumb over his cheek and leaned in, ever so softly kissing his pouty lips. He pulled you in even closer and you rested your head on his shoulder, watching the lights flicker as Dot’s voice echoed through the tent’s walls.

Great amounts of people were rapidly flooding in, creating a large crowd. By the looks of it, tonight was going to be very busy and you were certainly not complaining. Lots of people meant lots of tips, which meant lots of publicity and propaganda for the show.

After gathering everyone and selling an impressive amount of tickets, it was nearly show time. You rushed to the makeup tent and made sure everyone was ready to perform, the perfectionist side of you definitely spilling out a little.

Elsa was the opening act, her voice never ceasing to amaze you. As you entered the tent, you spotted Jimmy pacing back in forth, seemingly nervous.

You walked over to him. “Jimmy, love...Is everything okay?” Concern laced your voice and you furrowed your eyebrows. He wasn’t a stranger to stage fright, on the contrary, it was a regular occurrence for him but it was rarely that bad.

“There’s- God, there’s so many people out there, Y/N! I don’t know if I can do it,” he shakily spoke, looking pale as a ghost.

“You’ve done this countless times, Jimmy! It’s just a few more people than usual, you can do it,” you soothed, your words only mildly reassuring him.

He shook his head and closed his eyes, the anxiety becoming overbearing. “No, it’s not the same-“

“I know it isn’t but there is absolutely nothing to worry about, okay? You always do great, tonight won’t be any different,” you engulfed him in a tight embrace and spoke in his ear. “Now, go show ‘em what you got.”

He smiled at you, whispered a quick ‘I love you’ and darted out of the tent. You followed him, confirmed every single performer was all set to go and sat in the audience. The lights dimmed, plunging the room in complete darkness and the curtains were drawn to reveal Elsa in beautiful makeup and a just as beautiful dress. Her graceful voice deeply moved you, feeling almost transported by it.

You subtly glanced around towards the end of her performance, trying to discern the look on people’s faces. Most of them looked disappointed, but you weren’t surprised. They were here for the ‘freaks’, not the real talent after all.

As your eyes scanned the crowd, a particular someone caught your eye.

He appeared to be in his mid twenties and was the textbook definition of ‘tall, dark and handsome’. He had slicked back seemingly black hair, perfectly parted down the middle. His baby blue irises, although adverted towards the stage, were still visible and bright. He wore an elegant, unique striped suit that probably cost ten times more than the most expensive item you owned.

Next to him sat an older, strawberry blonde woman who you assumed was his mother. It was clear they were significantly wealthy from their luxurious clothing.

Your attention was still fixated on the young man. Something about him was intriguing, but you couldn’t quite put your finger on it. Elsa had long left the stage by now and it was time for the others to shine. He looked mesmerized by everyone on stage. The fascination in his eyes was blatantly obvious, like a child in a candy shop.

He must have felt someone staring because his gaze met yours rather abruptly. You quickly spun your head back around, caught off guard. Slightly embarrassed, you shyly peered at him from the corner of your eye to make sure he was no longer paying attention to you.

Much to your surprise, he was now staring at you, an unreadable expression plastered on his face. He didn’t smile or nod, just stared. Jimmy appeared on stage just as you were beginning to get slightly anxious. You beamed at him, mouthing a silent ‘you got this’ and he flashed you his signature alluring grin in return.

The stranger still rumbled through your mind as you watched your boyfriend juggle four, five...six bowling pins. As soon as the show ended, you were about to make your way backstage to congratulate Jimmy, when a foreign male voice stopped you in your tracks.

“Excuse me?”

You hesitantly turned around and found yourself face to face with no other than the dapper young man. “Yes?” you answered skeptically.

“I noticed you speaking with one of the freaks earlier. Do you, perhaps, happen to work here?” he asked. You cringed at his choice of words but knowing correcting him wouldn’t get you anywhere, you ignored it.

“Uh, yes I do.” The awkward tension in the air was undeniably present and you slightly stuttered.

“Fascinating! You aren’t one of them I presume. You seem perfectly attractive...” he started. “Tell me, how is it living with freaks?” Your face, once again, twisted in disgust at his poor wording but you stayed calm. Jimmy on the other hand would have been fuming. The man before you had a posh way of speaking, his voice matching his wealth. It was drastically different from what you heard on a day to day basis.

“I didn’t even introduce myself! How foolish of me! Forgive me, my name is Dandy Mott,” he exclaimed, disregarding his previous question and holding his hand out.

You hesitantly took it. “Y/N. Y/N Y/L/N.” Dandy’s grip was strong as you shook his hand. He gave you a heartfelt, closed mouthed smile and bid you goodbye.

“I’ll certainly be looking forward to seeing you again, Y/N.”

Ever since your first encounter with Dandy, he attended every single show with no exception. You had grown to enjoy his company even though he was strange at times. Both of you would often go on picnics and walks through town. You, of course, made sure he understood it was purely platonic. You might have been spending less time with Jimmy, but you still remained faithful. He respected your boundaries and didn’t make any advances.

Dandy was different and you liked that about him. You needed something different. Before him, every day felt the exact same and it was painfully exhausting.

Everything was going smoothly until one night, Dandy shared his beliefs about him being ‘a supreme being’. He had hinted at it before, but you brushed it off, thinking it was nothing more than an eccentric pleasantry. You were both standing in front of the freak show’s gates and its frightening entrance when he unveiled that side of himself.

“I am a god!” he had cried out. You were at a loss for words, not believing he truly felt that way at first.

“Is this some kind of joke?” you asked.

“No, this isn’t a joke! This is what I was destined to be. Don’t you get it?” Dandy was becoming more and more agitated by the second, stepping dangerously closer to you. “I would have preferred to tell you this somewhere more...formal. But here we are.”

“Dandy-”

“I thought you of all people would understand, Y/N. Why do you always have to make things so painfully complicated?” he sighed, sounding exasperated.

“Please Dandy...” Your voice trembled. “Leave, I just n-need you to leave.”

He shook his head and rolled his eyes, sighing dramatically once again. “You really are insufferable, aren’t you?” Right as he was reaching for you arm, Eve appeared.

“Y/N, there you are! There’s- uh, you see Jimmy-“ she fumbled over her words and you took it as an opportunity to flee the scene. You trusted Eve would take care of Dandy and send him home.

You entered the show’s campus and were immediately stunned by what you saw. A small, familiar crowd of people gathered around Jimmy as he flailed his arms around, nearly dropping and smashing the whiskey bottle in his right hand. His shirt was stained with what appeared to be sweat and vomit, from drinking all night. You immediately rushed over to him.

“Oh, look who finally showed up! Have fun with that prick? You manage to remove that stick up his ass yet?” he slurred, sarcastically tipping his hat at you.

“Are you insane? What the fuck are you doing?” You whisper-yelled, grabbing his arm and dragging him over to his caravan.

“Come on, Y/N! You’re no fun! I was just explaining to them how you ditched me for some rich jerk,” Jimmy blabbered on, nearly tripping over himself.

He dragged his feet in the dirt, ruining his already worn out shoes and dropped the bottle to the ground, completely shattering it. He muttered a simple ‘oops’, chuckling to himself. You practically shoved him inside the caravan and he stumbled onto the bed.

“Get up, you’re filthy,” you demanded, the stench of his clothes unbearable.

“So, this is what I have to do for you to notice me? Get shit-faced?” He sat up, a now hurt expression on his face.

“You know that’s not true,” you settled beside him and he raised his arms, a whiff of sweat hitting your nose instantly. You peeled off the dirty garment from his skin and threw it on the floor, at the foot of the bed. You gently tilted his chin up, forcing him to look at you. His breath reeked of booze but you ignored it.

“I thought I lost you,” Jimmy whispered, tears pricked at his eyes and threatened to fall down.

“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to distance myself from you, I just-“ you paused, contemplating your words. “I can’t live like this anymore, Jimmy. Not here. And I know it sounds selfish because it hasn’t even been a year, but it’s the truth. I just can’t.” Your voice cracked as a tight knot formed in your throat, and you desperately searched Jimmy’s face for anything that could indicate how he was feeling.

“Come here.”

You leaped into his arms as your tears wet his bare chest. Sobs racked your body as you finally let go of everything you kept bottled in and hidden deep within yourself. Jimmy’s calloused fingers soothingly rubbed circles on the exposed skin of your back while you cried, before slowly pulling away. You peered up at him with glassy eyes, your lower lip trembling.

“I’m so sorry for everything, Jimmy. Dandy he-“ you shakily started but Jimmy was quick to shush you.

“Shh...it’s okay, baby. I forgive you,” he warmly smiled. His eyes suddenly lit up, an imaginary lightbulb shining over his head. “Now, what do you say we run away together?”

Your eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at his outrageous proposition. So many questions ran through your mind but you chose the obvious one.

“Are you serious?” you asked, utterly baffled. Jimmy burst in a fit of laughter, his adoration for you clearer than ever.

“Of course I am! All I want is a shot at a normal life...with you.” He grinned from ear to ear, his beautiful face radiating with joy causing your heart to flutter.

“Then yes, without a doubt,” you said, tearing up once more. “I love you. ”

“And I love you,” Jimmy murmured, softly pressing his lips to the top of your head and laying down, lulling you both to sleep.

"It was cruel.

They are cruel.

They are all cruel for what they have done to me.

I pleaded. I screamed. I begged.

They didn't let up.

Instead, they all watched.

They watched the water rise and consume me.

I thought they'd let me go.

I'm rich. I could've given them money..not that I would have, but I could have.

'You suck! You all suck! You're all peasants. Freaks. You're nothing and that's all you will ever be!' I screamed over and over again until my throat felt raw. Rubbing my throat, I swallowed a sob as I walked around the abandoned Freakshow grounds. Who knew your throat could hurt in the afterlife?

When I passed away, I was greeted by the others. The ones I killed right here in cold blood. They said nothing, but they smiled and walked away. They walked towards this beautiful bright light. I watched as the light welcomed them and so I ran. I didn't want to be stuck here, so I ran and ran as fast as I could but before I could make it the light was gone and so were they.

I screamed 'I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!' until I tired and still the light never came back. I was completely alone. I am completely alone," Dandy sighed as he plopped down on an old bench with his head hung low "And scene. Good job, Dandy! You're the best actor in the whole world. Here's a new car, a new mansion, and your very own statue!" Dandy clapped as he gave himself a standing ovation.

There was no one else around for him to perform this to. There was no one to talk to. No one else around for him to touch or even to look at. It was just him, wandering the old Freakshow ground as he performed the same monologue over and over again. Hoping and wishing someone or something would accompany him soon.

Dandy heard the sound of a car pull up, followed by a door slam and gentle footsteps. "Yeah, I'm looking at it right now! There's so much work that still needs to be done, but it's very promising!" Dandy's heart raced as he followed the voice. His shoes crunched the gravel beneath his feet as he walked towards the person.

"The construction crew won't be here until next week, so I'm going to try to get some things done...No I didn't get a hotel room, but there's plenty of trailers here...It's abandoned, not haunted!...Oh, very funny! If I see some ghosts, you'll be the first to know. Goodbye. I love you," the person hung up the phone, shoving it into her back pocket. She twirled around, looking at every little thing. Her eyes eventually landed on Dandy. She smiled as she stepped closer "I'm definitely keeping you around!" Dandy grinned, but before he could open his mouth, she walked right through him and picked up an old vase. His smile twisted into a scowl as he watched the woman dust off the vase, admiring it in his hands. "What about me?" Dandy screamed, but she continued on. "Why can't you hear me?!" Dandy kicked at the ground, sending rocks flying.

"Ouch! What the hell?" the woman gasped, turning around. Dandy gulped as he stared at her with wide eyes.

"Yeah, I'm getting a hotel room!"

Y/N'S POV

Maybe it was haunted.

Maybe there are some souls here that are trapped.

There's no way I was hit by rocks from the wind..there wasn't even any wind!

I ran a hand through my hair as I carefully walked around the old grounds.

"Hello?" I called out.

No one answered.

"Hello?" I called out again, but louder.

No one answered.

"This is beginning to feel like a horrible start to a horror movie," I muttered to myself. "Hello? I'd appreciate it if you didn't throw rocks at me. Who's out there?"

Nothing. No one answered.

I shuddered as a cold chill ran down my spine.

"I'm going to ask one more time. Wh-" 

"Can you hear me now?" A man's voice boomed in my ear causing me to jump. The vase slipped out of my hands and landed into another's. I stared at the hands holding the vase until I mustered enough courage to look the person in the eyes. I gulped as my eyes trailed from the hands, up the arms, past the shoulders, and to the face..the oddly handsome face.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Dandy Mott and I own this facility,"

DANDYS POV

I could tell that she was frightened. Who wouldn't be? I was expecting her to run, but I hoped she would stay.

Her big (e/c) eyes stared at me. I could see her body begin to shake. Clearing my throat, I smirked "Nice to meet you. I'm Dandy Mott and I own this facility,"

"But you don't," She squeezed her eyebrows together as she looked at me, her body relaxing. "I do. This is my freakshow!" I was taken aback as she grabbed the vase from my hands without a thank you. "This is a county fair in the making. The freakshow was closed before I was even born,"

The woman looked me up and down with concern as air caught in my throat. "How..how l-long have I been de-dead?" I stammered, holding my chest as I began to take notice of all of the changes that I hadn't noticed before.

Everything was gone except the trailers. There were tire marks all over the grounds. The grass had grown so tall. Even the smell of circus food was gone. "This..I wasn't..This.." I couldn't think straight as everything around me changed suddenly. I imagined everything was the same and yet everything had changed around. "Hey, take a deep breath!" She went to touch me, but her hand went through me. "How can I breathe when I'm dead?" I yelled at her causing her to jump back. I remembered the pain I caused others by the way I spoke to them. The last thing I wanted was for her to leave.

Before I could do anything, to my surprise, she began to laugh "You're right. I just keep forgetting, you're dead! It's not something I deal with on a daily basis," I smiled as she continued to laugh. Her laugh flowed through my ears similar to that symphony I would go to every year but better. Ten times better. "Come with me. I'll show you around," I held out my hand with a gentle smile. A smile remained on her face even after she was done laughing. She looked from my hand to my eyes "I'd love that, Dandy" 

I hissed in air as I didn't know if her hand would go through mine again. It felt like slow motion the way she reached for my hand. Butterflies flew in my stomach as tears slid down my face once her warm hand gently touched my cold skin. Her fingers intertwined with mine, fitting perfectly "Let's go,"

We walked hand in hand throughout the grounds. I talked to her about what used to be here and what I had done. Even through my darkest memories, her gentle eyes never left mine and her smile never faded.

It was nightfall before we both knew it. We laid together in a dusty old bed that she threw a stray blanket from her car over. It smelled of beautiful flowers, something I hadn't smelled in forever. She talked about herself and showed me what the internet was. We talked until she fell asleep right in my arms.

Maybe the light that took the others left me here, so I could meet my own light. A light that I would have never met had I changed a single thing.

I pressed my lips against her ear, closing my eyes.

"Please stay forever,"

An interesting idea -> A ghost!Dandy Mott X reader where the reader buys/visists the old abandoned Freakshow grounds and a bored lonely Dandy interacts!

“There’s nothing here,” you said to yourself. 

Of course, it would be empty, you thought, as you stared into the freshly trimmed grounds of what once held one of the last Freak Shows on Earth. The only upside was that at least the state took care of it.

You found Freak Shows to be kind of repulsive. Not because of the actors or their counterparts, but at the idea of paying money to gawk at people with disabilities and other things they cannot control. It was sad.

But that’s not what brought you here.

While you were in Florida on vacation, you decided to drive the nearly two and a half hour trip to see one of the most infamous murder sights in history. You really didn’t know what you expected to see. It took place over seventy years ago. All the people that were murdered here, all of them being part of the show is what made you drive out here, by yourself, in your rental car. 

You tucked your phone into your pocket, deciding that there was really nothing here to remember. There was an eerie feeling about this place as you walked along the small pond, keeping an eye out for enormous alligator. 

You had spent a little time walking around before a sight a few feet away caught your attention. You strained your eyes, wondering if you were hallucinating.

A man was standing there, a pout on his face as he stared at you. He was rather good looking, you thought. He was wearing clothes that looked expensive, and definitely out of style. You didn’t question it, though. 

“Why are you looking at me?” you asked.

“Why are you on my property?” he shot back. 

You raised an eyebrow, holding your hands up in surrender. The boy has an attitude; you laughed to yourself. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize...”

He shrugged, “It’s fine, I guess.”

“Seriously, I could leave-,” you said.

“Why would you do that?” he asked. “I’m bored. I like company, I haven’t had it in years. People only come here with their loud machines and mow the grass. It’s a nuisance.” 

Loud machines? You snickered.

“My name is Dandy. Who are you?” he questioned.

“y/n,” you introduced yourself, before slowly sticking your hand out for him to shake. “Nice to meet you.”

He eyed your hand, before clasping it in his. You shook hands, before quickly releasing him. 

“You look nice, wanna play with me?” he asked, a hopeful look in his eyes. You stared at him, wondering if he was serious. He looked to be in his mid to late twenties. 

“Excuse me?” you asked. In 2020, that sounded like a whole different invitation. “I don’t sleep with people I just met.”

Dandy frowned, his eyes alight with amusement. You could tell he was trying not to laugh as his lips fought the urge to smile. 

“What’s so funny?” you snap.

“If I wanted to have sex, I would have asked. I meant we should play. Like house, you know?” 

You couldn’t help it, you threw your head back and laughed until your stomach ached for you to stop. Dandy glared at you as you dropped to a knee, clutching your belly as tears leaked from the corner of your eyes.

“House.” you wheezed, “I haven’t played that since I was ten!” you gasped for air. 

“Don’t laugh at me!” Dandy exclaimed, raising his voice. You could tell it angered him, and possibly hurt his feelings, so you tried to calm yourself down. You sort of felt bad now, getting back to your feet.

“I’m sorry, I just... You look like you’re twenty-six or something.” you tried to explain, only for Dandy to raise his nose at you.

“I thought you’d be nice to me. It gets lonely, being here all by yourself. I should have anticipated that.” And suddenly, you were alone, no sign of Dandy or any other living thing here other than yourself.

Your heart sunk, as you realized you had genuinely hurt his feelings. You hated that.

“I’m sorry,” you said, still looking around. “... Where did you go off to so fast?” 

“It’s a special talent of mine, you wouldn’t understand.”

You screamed at the sound of his voice behind you. If you were in a cartoon, your character would have shot up towards the sky. 

“I miss terrorizing people,” Dandy grinned to himself. “I like you. Spend the day with me.”

You had spent the entirety of the day with dandy, who had started to pout when you brought up going home as the sun started to set.

"Couldn't you stay a little while longer?" He asked as you made your way back to the rental car.

"It's getting late," you explained. "There's no lights out here anyway, we wouldn't be able to see."

Dandy's pout grew as you neared your escape. You hated to admit that you felt bad for him. Dandy explained his predicament, and it startled you. Real people cannot disappear into thin air over and over like Dandy could. So, you accepted the fact that Dandy Mott, was in fact dead.

"Will you be back tomorrow?" He asked.

You paused, looking at him as he gave you a childish, hopeful glance.

"Sure," you said. "But after tomorrow, I have to go back home."

Dandy frowned, "Where are you from?"

You hid a giggle, "Nowhere near here..."

"I wish I could go home," Dandy said, his lower lip quivering. "I hate it here."

You slowed down as Dandy got quiet. Your heart ached against your will. You looked down at your dead phone before looking up at the darkened sky, seeing the stars finally peeking through. You were far enough away from the city to see the stars shining bright.

You surprised him when you sunk down in the freshly cut grass, allowing yourself to lay back and observe. Dandy sunk to the ground beside you, watching you as he mimicked your exact pose. The air around you was cool and the hot air from earlier slowly melted away.

"Does this mean you're staying a bit longer?" He asked after a few moments passed.

"Yes, I'll stay for a bit."

Dandy's face had brightened considerably. "Fantastic! I'm happy we met, y/n. You're nice to me."

With the project finally finished (Y/n) drove to her new house, a giddy sensation bubbling within her. As she drove down the long gravel driveway, her excitement intensified as she finally seen the house, after passing the thicket of trees. "It's perfect." (Y/n) murmured to herself as she parked her vehicle, hoping out as soon as she cut the engine. It truly was her perfect dream house, practically straight outta her dreams. With an excited giggle she rushed for the front door, unlocking it and quickly toured the interior. "I love it!" (Y/n) cried out with a laugh, her voice echoing through the house.

That night her sleep was restless, tossing and turning the entire night. Nightmares plaguing her mind, of a man begging and pleading for his life, later drowning in a trick tank. When she finally woke up that morning, she sluggishly wondered into the kitchen, making herself a simple breakfast. As she sat eating she jumped in fright, having thought she seen someone out of the corner of her eye. However when she didn't find anyone, she chalked it up to her tired brain playing tricks on her. But while she was doing up the dishes she used, she noticed a man wondering around outside of her house. So with minor annoyance she dried off her hands and exited her house, approaching the man with the intent to tare him a new one for being on her property.

"Excuse me." (Y/n) called out, freezing in her tracks when he turned to face her. It was the man from her dream, the man she watched beg for his life then drown. "Y-you." She stammered taking in his appearance. "Yes?" He tilted his head, checking her out as she had him. "Who are you?" (Y/n) asked with a frown. "Dandy Mott." He held his head high, clearly proud of who he is. His name struck a bell, remembering that was one of the names of the people murdered on her property some time ago. "Are you a ghost?" (Y/n) asked without much thought. "Unfortunately." He pouted in a huff, crossing his arms.

Weeks have gone by and day in, and day out she spent her free time with Dandy. Talking about what happened to him, what kind of life he lived, and why he did what he did. She felt for him despite the horrid thing he'd done, and she understood him better than anyone ever had in his life. Due to this Dandy found himself rather attached to her, practically obsessing over her to a dangerous degree. But (Y/n) didn't care much about this, finding his company to endearing and comforting.
