a/n: i'm not going to write something like this again, but i can't pretend like ghondor wouldn't 100% do this–

you never wanted to tell ghondor about your past relationship, but she knew that things hadn't ended well with your ex

it was only when she noticed some bruises on you after you had run into your ex again, that ghondor couldn't hold back anymore

she had suspected all along that your ex hadn't treated you well. but she had hoped they weren't being physical

but now that she knew they dared to lay a hand on you, the gloves were off! or rather, ghondor's gloves were on, to give your ex a taste of their own medicine!

ghondor certainly doesn't hold back on your ex! they put you through a lot and they need to pay for that!

it doesn't take long for you to find out about the very one sided beating between ghondor and your ex – their bruises are hard to ignore after all!

you're not too happy with ghondor! but ghondor is ready to apologize to you right away

she knows what she did wasn't right! and she won't do it again! but just this once, it needed to happen…

“ghondor, don't.” you softly whispered, as you noticed your girlfriend growing more tense.

ghondor never much liked your friends. they always seemed too friendly with you, as if they had some ulterior motive. she couldn't stand just sitting around here, watching you laugh and talk with those friends of yours who likely wanted to be much more than just your friend.

“you're mine. and if i have to remind them of that, i'll happily do it…” ghondor muttered under her breath, making you roll your eyes and smile amused.

“they're just being friendly, so don't be so paranoid.”

she was one of the strongest soldiers in the city, even at her young age

you weren't a soldier like her, but ghondor had met you before, since you worked at the clinic and took care of injured people

sometimes you would accompany the soldiers on missions, to treat any potential wounds and that's how you got close to ghondor

she was leading the mission while you stayed in the background, watching as she effortlessly took care of things

you couldn't help but comment how cool ghondor looked, just fighting huge monsters with her bare fists

ghondor had gotten that comment a hundred times by now, but when she heard it from you, her heart started to beat faster

ghondor was quite shaken after shania's death, but you clearly seemed to take her death a lot worse

the three of you had always been close, yet you knew shania longer than ghondor had and you had just gotten over her suicide, when she re-appeared as moebius

when you had to watch shania die a second time, it somehow hurt even more than the first time

ghondor was right there with you, holding shania in her arms, until she turned into nothing more but dim lights flying towards the sky

as soon as she was fully gone, you couldn't hold your tears back anymore and started sobbing loudly

you had wanted to stay strong during her last moments, but now you were fully breaking down

ghondor had quickly wrapped her arms around you in an attempt to comfort you, but she started crying just as quickly as you had

now the two of you were all the friends you had left. the trio was now just a duo, again

ghondor and you were just crying without exchanging a word for quite a while, until you were too exhausted to cry anymore

there weren't any comforting words you could tell each other, no words that would change anything

but the two of you were able to be there for each other

but just hearing you talk about love with ghondor made shania jealous enough to only half heartedly listen to what you were saying

she's rather young for a leader, given that she had to take on that role after her father's death. so she often has to prove herself in any given situation!

which is why she gets quite upset at you when you give her a hickey on her neck, that is so clearly visible…

not only does she not want ghondor to find out about the two of you dating like this, but she doesn't want any of the other house leaders to think poorly of her for what you and her do behind closed doors

it's quite an odd view when monica suddenly shows up at the war room, wearing a scarf that doesn't fit her usual attire at all

despite all the comments and quiet mumbles about her new look, monica knows that this is still a lot better than if everyone saw that hickey you gave her

though it's quite humiliating to hear those whispers about her…

and while the two of you were too flustered to say anything, it was ghondor who pushed the two of you in the right direction

“what are you acting so shy for? shania told me she had a crush on you too, you know?” she huffed, revealing yet another secret of one of her friends, which caused shania to blush even more

shania quickly scolded ghondor for revealing her secrets like that, but once she looked over to you, things didn't seem so bad anymore

you were smiling at her, seeming rather happy to know that shania felt the same way about you

seeing the two of you smiling at each other was ghondor's cue to give your some space and exit the scene, to finally allow you two to talk about this when it's just the two of you…

a/n: i'm currently replaying xc3 and just got to the city part, so posting this now is perfect timing~

shania didn't know at which point things started to go wrong. maybe when you started to spend more time with ghondor than with her. maybe when she had made up her mind about betraying the city. 

shania always thought that the two of you were meant to be. yet somewhere along the way, you lost what you had. all those memories you two shared were now a bitter reminder of what once was and of what could've been. 

but you two chose different paths. you sided with ghondor and the city, while shania betrayed them. no matter how many times shania would get reborn, she knew that there would never be a life again in which she got to be by your side. she lost you for good the day she betrayed the city…

looking back on it, shania should've known that you'd end up with ghondor one day. after all, ghondor always had what shania wanted the most, so naturally that included you too. she just didn't think that the moment she'd realize how much you meant to her would also be the moment she'd lose you to ghondor.

“a date…?”

shania let your words sink in, hoping she misheard what you said. surely ghondor wouldn't have asked you out, right? she never seemed like the type to be interested in love, so why would she want you of all people?

“you sound so surprised!” you huffed amused at shania. “don't tell me you don't think i'd be attractive enough for someone to ask me out~!”

shania tried to laugh it off a little, but her bitterness about the fact that ghondor had asked you out on a date was clear to see.

“no, that's not it. my problem is ghondor…” shania mumbled. “i just– didn't think she'd be interested in anyone”

but then again, it should've been obvious that ghondor would like you too. after all, ghondor and shania always liked the same things. only this time, ghondor realized a bit sooner what she wanted and acted upon her feelings, while shania was stucking wishing she would've realized it sooner…
