People with ‘pansexuals DNI uwu’ in their bios are the weakest links in the community and have now made it 10 times easier for me to block on sight and ignore 😂 Anyone who has petty shit like that in their bio, regardless of which identity it is, just tells me that that person’s opinions on intracommunity issues are gonna be full of bad faith arguments, awful misinterpretations of historic documents/articles/books/interviews in which they cherry pick whatever information works for their ‘arguments’ without considering the context behind them, and more than likely, just has a shitty personality.
People like that think it’s more ‘helpful’ to the overall LGBTQ+ community to punch down at other folks in the same boat as them for literally nothing than it is to mind your own business regarding other people’s identities, learn to meet people where they’re at, and stop assuming you know more than everyone else because odds are…you don’t 😂 and you never will because there are millions of people walking around on this planet that you will never meet or learn about, who will have had experiences you couldn’t even imagine.
So like…thanks for making it obvious that you follow a trend to hate on whoever is convenient and easy to pick on 👍🏼 It really makes it clear that your whole ‘activist’ mentality is wrapped up in this idea that you only support folks who validate your own personal opinions without any sort of criticism of your behavior towards random people and that shit is pathetic lol
EDIT: y’all can reblog this if y’all want to but if you choose to leaves nasty comments, you’re getting blocked.

The ideas of, ‘our current capitalist society has inflamed and caused so many mental illnesses to spike and needs a revolutionary overhaul that ends with everyone having access to the healthcare and basic necessities that they need in order to thrive in this life,’
and,
‘even without the weight of capitalism on our shoulders, there will still be people who need therapy and medication to help manage a lot of their symptoms that will not magically disappear once capitalism is gone,’
can and should COEXIST!! It really is ridiculous that way too many ‘leftists’ keep acting like everyone needs to accept this idea that their mental illnesses are just a ‘product’ of capitalism when that has never been universally true 😂

The new Candyman was really good and I enjoyed how it dived more into folklore territory. Definitely a good watch if you’re looking for more like… ‘social’ horror movies to watch and learn a lot from. The messages in the movie make a lot of valid points about the detriment of gentrification and white superiority in artistic spaces.
It didn’t feel cheesy or corny when engaging with the source material and while I would like to have seen more graphic stuff, I also think that graphic violence wouldn’t have helped to make the story more engaging and would have taken away from the main point of exploring more of the lore behind the Candyman.
I will say that there was a well-crafted feeling of dread throughout the whole movie and I think that it fit perfectly with the overall themes of generational trauma in the black community. I don’t want to get any deeper into this but I think more horror fans should watch it with this angle in mind before making any harsh judgments on it.
Black horror movies now are talking about various issues within and outside of the community, itself, and I think that it’s important to recognize the nuance that exists in telling these stories for both the black community and nonblack folks.

The lack of nuance from folks who are currently in college and claiming to ‘not be like you YA loving tumblerinas uwu’ just reminds me of the kind of pedantic and condescending piece of shit that I used to be once I left my small, rural town, learned to have a smidge of nuance, and acted like I was hot shit just because I read dry ass papers on film criticism😂
Like, we get it y’all! Y’all are finally thinking outside of all the preconceived notions that were pushed onto you and enforced by your family, friends, teachers, and other community members. You’re finally realizing that there are millions of other people who exist outside of you and who have had plenty of different experiences that you’ve never had.
Trust me, I get it. But like…the fact that y’all are still coming to tumblr to spout the same condescending bullshit that I used to 4 or 5 years ago, just because you’re in college and are being exposed to new ideas, should be a clear indication that you’re still on here like the rest of us and there’s really nothing that separates you from the very ‘tumblerinas’ you’ve shown distaste for 😂
Like homie…you complaining ON TUMBLR makes you a tumblrina, as well lol You’re still choosing to run a blog on this site and no amount of ‘academics’ in your life is gonna somehow make your ideas or ‘hot takes’ more or less ‘valid’ than someone else’s. Everything is contextual and not every bit of college fueled academics and ideas are gonna apply to various scenarios where those institutions are not relevant.
Remember that before y’all go off on how everyone else is privileged for not understanding how ‘deep’ some academic jargon is when your ass clearly had the privilege to be able to even pursue higher education. And don’t come at me with no bullshit over this post either because I did my 4 years for a bachelors degree, with my own baggage of student debt AND I grew up in a working class family, almost on the edge of serious poverty for most of my life.
Don’t think that I don’t know about either situation when both have played a pivotal role in my life: going to college gave me the tools to think and research for myself but going back to my working class home town taught me that all of that knowledge means nothing if I can’t recognize how lucky I had been to be able to pursue higher education and learn how to show compassion and respect towards other folks who didn’t go down that path, for various reasons.
All I’m saying is that just because you’re an ‘academic’ right now doesn’t suddenly make your ways of thinking more ‘superior’ than anyone else. Even if you’re getting into more ‘leftist’ academics, you still need to recognize that folks who are not currently going and/or have never been to college can be equally as smart as you and probably have a better time showing genuine compassion and support for the people in their communities because of their proximity to home. Don’t forget that before you start getting on your high horse thinking your absolved from any sort of criticism because you assume someone else who’s not in your shoes doesn’t have the ability to call you on your shit.

Hmm…remembering that one post made by an aro/ace stone butch about the relationship between being stone and being aro/ace. It was so interesting and really explained my personal feelings regarding how being stone and being aroace can overlap for some folks, specifically butches, and how there needs to be more conversation about the way these identities intertwine with each other.
For me, being stone and being aroace can feel like one and the same. I just wish there wasn’t this intense animosity among non-aro/ace people against those communities and then maybe we can have more interesting discussions about complex queer identities that don’t spiral into chaos over who’s more ‘sexually knowledgeable’ or ‘valid’.

Kid Pix just became pubic domain, so the remade (but pretty much exactly the same) version is now available here. It's uh, wild, highly recommend checking it out not only for the wonderful nostalgia but you can legit make some incredible looking stuff!

Being nonbinary just feels like… ‘wants to look like a jock 🏀, wants to look like a princess 👑, wants to look goth 🦇, wants to look like a gremlin 🐸, wants to look like a baddie 💅🏼, wants to look like an English professor 👨‍🏫, wants to look…’

Wish there was more ‘weird girl’ art, fashion, and writing on this site without gross ass TERFs feeling the need to include themselves lol
Like I guarantee that most TERFs weren’t even ‘weird girls’ in any way and were more likely the girls that bullied, ostracized, and harassed the actual ‘weird’ girls who didn’t fit their white ass interpretations of what ‘real girls’ are ‘supposed’ to be like 😂

Y'all...don't tag stuff that I put on this blog as 'q slur' please. I've talked about this before and it's in my pinned post to not do that. To me, it's very disrespectful to queer folks to constantly be told that our identity is a slur.
If you wanna just tag it as 'queer', that's fine but don't tag it as anything else. If that's gonna be an issue, then feel free to leave.
