Barn House, Argentina
Casa Granero is a permanent-use house, conceived for a family that enjoys gatherings, friends, farming, cooking, furniture-making and animals raising.
It pretends to be a contemporary adaptation of agricultural spaces for the collection and conservation of seeds. It uses the idea of flexible and safe space for inclement weather. Protection and production.
The main house is located between carob trees, with the purpose to live under them, freeing this way enough space for a second stage of the house, an orchard and a patio.
Inside the property there´s also an old van which is used as workshop and guest house.
In the main space, the kitchen is the gravity center of the family life. The bar/cook table is located in the direction of a huge large window that takes the full heights of the house and allows daily to contemplate and experience the existing carob trees in the property.
It pretends to be a space of gatherings and celebrations where the limits between interior and exterior are blurred under the big roof.
The house adapts the local weather that suffers from big storms. The location of the garage and the most-closed walls are south-oriented, leaving minimal but strategical openings in order to not lose the views of the carot trees and the horizon.
In the north orientation, there´s the gallery that creates a weather filter as well as a space of transition between interior and exterior.
The materiality is solved by a monolithic base of 27cm-thick brick walls, in contrast to the light roof formed by metallic profile-structural beams, which modulate the house. Metal, aluminum and glass on the other hand allow, at strategic points, the connection between the exterior and interior. The materials used in its natural finish devoid of plasters and coatings. Everything proposed is genuinely structural.

Hidden House, Cuesta Blanca Cordoba

Hidden House in Cuesta Blanca
18 May 2022
Architects: Arq. Ravelo Julia – Sur Architecture Workshop
Location: Cuesta Blanca, Cordoba, Argentina, South America

Hidden House, Argentina
The Hidden House project is located in Cuesta Blanca, Cordoba. The town is known for being a part of a water reserve called Los Gigantes, which is an ecologically-protected area where the conservation of its special native forest ecosystem is the main focus.
Privacy, respect, and connection with the surrounding environment were the guides that gave the structure for the project. The use of both local natural and human resources was prioritized.
The house is located strategically in the native forest, to avoid the extraction of natural species or making big ground movements. The garage is located near the street, connected to a natural, between-the-trees path which indicates the way to the house.
The project contains both a mix of inhabit and working areas for a couple of craftsmen, with a specific area for textile production. The programs overlap and interconnect, giving space and time to be, work, contemplate and create.
Low maintenance and visual impact materials were used, such as exposed bricks, wooden roofs and concrete. The human creativity was a constant in the construction process, especially in the base of the house and in the different paths, where stone-walls with different construction techniques were used. We understand that local-techniques jobs and the revival of the community and constructive memory are the tool maintain the cultural identity and the relationship with the natural environment.
This project belongs to a series of houses located in suburban areas, immersed in the natural landscapes of Cordoba, with autochthonous vegetal presence, big stones and significant topography. In each one of them, there is a search to reflect the tensions between the natural and the artificial, the impact of the house in the landscape, and the experience of inha biting and connecting with the environment.

Casa Hache 01, Jesús María Cordoba
Casa Hache 01, Jesús María Interior, Argentinan Commercial Building Project, South American Architecture Photos
Casa Hache 01 in Cordoba
16 May 2022
Architects: Studio Brava
Location: Jesús María, Córdoba, Argentina, South America
Photos: Gonzalo Viramonte
Casa Hache 01, Argentina
The Casa Hache 01 is in Jesús María, a city located about 50km from Córdoba Capital, on a land surrounded by an Eucalyptus forest.
Designed on a single level as an H, in a unique environment, this mass of bricks emerges from the traditional and classic buildings that surround it.
Only on one of its sides would it border a neighbor, so the project was designed to look 360 degrees.
A concrete, logical and functional project. The entrance is located in the center of the main facade, with a large opening that allows to see the central courtyard, confusing the exterior with the interior. Yes, the brick wall crosses the entire house and encases the green heart that faces the gallery, a gallery designed to open completely and definitively erase that interior/exterior limit.
The entrance hall becomes the nexus between the private sector and the social sector, the latter being differentiated by the high height of its concrete ceiling.
The exterior of the house is completely covered with perfectly shaped bricks. Local artisans were in charge of manufacturing them. Each block went through a quality control before joining these facades that are the real protagonists of the project. All together, they display a harmonious and friendly movement.
The sunlight throughout the day generates different games of Lights and shadows that make the sensations change, as in an immersive work of art.
With a modern industrial style, this 270-square-meter house offers a relaxed lifestyle, with noble and local materials that allow you to enjoy it with zero maintenance.

S House in Alta Gracia Country Golf Club
17 Apr 2022
Design: AP arquitectos
Location: Alta Gracia Country Golf Club, Córdoba, Argentina

S House, Argentina
Inspired by a mountain landscape, the S House is set among native trees in a simple way and dialogues with the vegetation and topography of the place.
Facing north, with its golf course views, this residence follows the premise of developing a house on a single floor for better functioning and use of the clients which is achieved from a rectangular floor plan with the main rooms to the north, coinciding with the best views, leaving the services and accesses to the south.
The plot of land is located at the highest area of the neighborhood which allows excellent views of the golf course and the Sierras Chicas.
The site slopes in a south-north direction descending from the street towards the golf course, therefore the house is subtly placed at a medium level allowing the best use of the topography.
A single, light, and sloping plane resolves the roof of the main functions. Perpendicularly, the gallery and pool are located to the north and the garage to the south, forming a T-shaped floor plan. Simple materials were used, such as metal, concrete, stone, and wood in neutral colors that allow vegetation to stand out.

Hockey-jockey Club De Rosario Changing Rooms in Santa Fe
10 April 2022
Architects: Estudio Martin Elias Arquitecto
Location: Fisherton, Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, South America
Photos by Ramiro Sosa
Hockey-jockey Club De Rosario Changing Rooms
The work is built in the Country of the Jockey Club of Rosario, a large plot of 110 hectares is locatedin the residential neighborhood of Fisherton, where different sports and recreational activities take place. Its headquarters,“Edificio de la Dulce”, built in 1936, was designed and directed by Estudio Sánchez, Lagos and de la Torre from Buenos Aires.
In this context, specifically in the Hockey sector, and hidden between one of the large groves of the club, the Building was designed and built to house the Hockey Changing Rooms.
The original idea was then to leave the ground floor as free as possible. where the intervention and contact with the floor were minimal, also trying not to obstruct the views at the pedestrian level. On the ground floor, a large atrium serves as the entrance and meeting point.
Reinforcing the transparency sought first. Characterized by the structural supports, the stairs, administrative offices, bathrooms and storage are located.
These supports raise the main floor to the height of the tree canopy. Through the central staircase there is access to an open hall, with views towards the forest and courts, and to the accesses to the Ladies and Gentlemen’s changing rooms. At the opposite end, through another staircase, in this case linear, you enter another room with characteristics similar to the main one and which leads to the Visiting Changing Room.
The entire project was built using three basic materials: Exposed Concrete, Aluminum and Glass, since the aim was to obtain formal coherence with solid and durable supporting material.
The changing rooms project proposes the loss of the notion of distribution corridor and exterior-interior, generating a continuous space that articulates, integrates and distributes, in permanent interaction with the natural environment.
