I can't tell by the video where the man is from, but I'm pretty damn sure that is the only size of the horses they use in certain areas of the world. Some cultures and smaller-sized horses are used to each other. He's showing off his skills for sure, and we can't tell from the video if he hits the target by doing this. But this isn't how he rides all the time, I promise you that much. Once he settles back, he'll have control. Mounted archery be like that. It's no different than mounted games like gymkhana, where the rider is in "off" positions. The horse's ears aren't pinned back, it's more common to have them turned back than forwards when they run. At least my friends' horses do when running free on their own and playing. The ears aren't all the way back so it's not in a bad mood. The horse also has its attention on its rider.

"We're fighting Nazis." Did he just say "We're fighting Nazis" because oh my fucking god no.
Can't people still see that Israel have become the new Nazis?! Instead of packing the Palestinians into trains and taking them to death camps to keep their murders out of the public eye they're doing this. This is fucking genocide and Israel fucking loves every minute of doing this, and hide behind their WWII holocaust history to make it okay for them to do the same to the Palestinians.
And the rest of the world lets this happen because "it's only jews and arabs, let them kill each other" is appearantly the way to go about this??!!!
"What about those Palestinians who are in hospital on life support & babies in incubators that will have to be turned off because Israelis have cut the power to Gaza?"
Ex Israeli PM Naftali Bennett: ""Are you seriously asking me about Palestinian civilians? Whats wrong wth you?"

Religious people (especially Xtians) are so weird, I mean why would the rest of the world's population bother to read up on everything on *your* specific storybooks to know your references or whatever. I don’t go around expecting everyone being able to get the movies and books I tend to quote but religious people are just so full of themselves, aren’t they?
Being raised by areligious jews with 0 exposure to christianity outside pop culture is so fun. One time I asked my ex-catholic friend why a picture of jesus had a bristle crown and she looked at me like I was insane. One time I heard someone mention the "lance of longinus" and responded, word for word, "Like from Evangelion?" One time during a history lesson my professor described an important monk and scholar as "Dominican" and I spent the rest of class super confused and hung up on it because I was very sure that the Dominican Republic didn't meaningfully exist as an entity back then, maybe she meant he was a native Taino or something but that's a weird way to say that and I'm pretty sure this was pre- European contact? Really fucks people up when they realize I genuinely have no idea.

Religious people are insane.
How can a person believe in a “god” that has the power of a volcanic eruption cause those side effects to plague a country where the Chosen People are kept as slaves, yet completely fail to give a shit when the Chosen People were tortured and destroyed by nazis? Where was his almighty super powers then?
OH that’s right. There’s no volcanic eruption to use as an excuse for the nazis failure because the whole world is recording history this time around so history can’t be altered through oral stories. ❤

@tlaquetzqui : “The Thera theory is a thing Chesterton called out a hundred years ago, about how people will believe any nonsense—like trying to connect the Plagues of Egypt in 1300 with the eruption of Thera in 1600, with exactly fucking zero evidence—just so long as it is mundane nonsense. There is absolutely no reason to think the Plagues and Thera have anything to do with one another. Zero. None. It is far more logical to believe in a series of supernatural blights than it is to believe Thera was the Plagues. One is “I shall take this source’s word”, the other is “what if I claim that this source, when it says these ten things, actually means something completely different, that I can associate with something else in the same part of the world 300 fucking years earlier, with exactly zero reason to associate the two”.
The Thera theory is about one step from Ancient Astronaut theories.”
________
“The Thera theory is about one step from Ancient Astronaut theories” - says the person who firmly believes a supernatural over-powered alien let the Hebrews free of Egypt and then didn’t bother to give anymore fucks when they were put through an infinity times worse ordeal... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When every sane person knows how destructive volcanic eruptions are worldwide, and how easy humans alters their history to make it sound more how they want it to, im this case “god’s chosen people” lmao. 😂😂😂

please read again because I said that STORIES GETS PASSED DOWN IN GENERATIONS. ❤ Which simplified means: Person A is alive to witness the effects Thera has on Egypt. He tells his son, Person B. Person B tells his son, Person C. Person C tells his son, Person D. Person D is alive when the Hebrews gets to leave Egypt, and tells the story to his son, Person E. Person E tells his son, Person F. Person F uses the story as an act of god to let the Hebrews escape when he tells his son, Person G, and so on. Person W, many many generations later, will of course believe that this is absolutely true and how dare others question it.
THAT is what it means when a story gets passed down for generations. Just like the Great Flood for several different cultures because of a event in all of their pasts.
Ooh, I like the sound of henotheism! I’ve honestly not heard that word before and it does suit Judaism. ❤  (all this being said, Judaism is my favourite of the abrahamic religions since the, uh, “spin-offs” are dangerously monotheistic)
What caused the Egyptians to let go of the Hebrew slaves can be discussed and I actually would love if we discovered the reason (yes even if it would prove me wrong), but it most certainly was not plagues sent from a god. Because if that had been possible his believers wouldn’t have been taken as slaves in the first place, or harassed and murdered for centuries or put through hell on earth not even a hundred years ago. If a god could unleash plagues on Egypt, he would have done so more times when his believers were put through worse.
But these plagues in particular can most certainly be traced back to Thera. Hence the stories told for generations and becoming myths as if they actually had happened for a particular reason at a particular time because the Hebrews at that point in time didn’t know better, this is what they’ve been told by their parents and grandparents was the reason for their escape and why wouldn’t it be right because how else did they get free?
For me, seeing youths on tumblr reblog things where they actually truly believe things like the Red Sea crossing, not understanding where the Hebrews were located or how the words was misinterpreted, makes me think of everyone who for real claims that the Hebrew slaves built the pyramids as well, and how many people regardless of religious belief choose to believe that too.
Basically TLDR; Thera caused the plagues of Egypt as it affected countries worldwide and Exodus used it as an act of their god for his people to be free because of stories told through those like a thousand years? inbetween the events of Thera and the myth to become “fact” in a written form. Therefor how the Torah was written is not irrelevant.
“The eruption of Thera, which created the ring-island of Santorini, caused the Plagues of Egypt!”
Hard to do that when the Exodus is almost certainly 300 years or so later.
“The eruption of Thera, destroying a Minoan settlement on the island, is the origin of the legend of Atlantis!”
Hard to do that when Atlantis isn’t a legend, it’s an allegory Plato made up like 1000 years later.

It’s funny how neo-pagans react so badly to this and wants to protect their ideas of how pagan beliefs were. It’s exactly the same with “established” religions; something happend and/or a story was told - a story of this event/story was altered to be more dramatic - not dramatic enough so further changes - hey let’s add this part to the story too, etc.
And now we’ve got people killing other people (or just bullying others on tumblr) for not believing in the same retellings as they do. Because their retelling is the real actual one, lol...
Hello internet user whose entire concept of feminism comes from tiktok. In front of you are three ancient myths about women. You have five minutes to figure out which one of them was made up in the 1970s. If you choose wrong, you will be ripped to pieces by Maenads.

....you ARE aware that the Torah / old testament wasn’t written as a day-to-day diary of the people living during those times, right? Something as catastrophic worldwide as the Thera eruption was most certainly lived on as stories that were told through generations and what a perfect story to make it an act of god for your freedom, right? :)
Also the Red Sea crossing didn’t happen. The Hebrews were mostly held in the north-east section of Egypt where new cities were built. Very very very north. So north that the Hebrews there never encountered the Red Sea as they could walk straight over to the Sinai. They crossed a lake filled with reeds. But the parting of the Red Sea is a cooler story bro. The very first known one god, Aten, was an Egyptian invention by pharaoh Akhenaten. The abrahamic god wasn’t set as the one god until after Aten’s destruction, before then they believed in polytheistic ancient Semitic religions.
I think these are important things to know when celebrating ones history, instead of the mindless junk and faulty translations to keep making things more exciting and dramatic that we’re still being fed with in movies and books. Real history is far more interesting and honors ones ancestors more.

@laughingwolf666 What are you even on about???? “The way you had her sitting on the couch” - That is how people normally sits on their couches. NO ONE falls off their couch sitting like that. “The artist didn’t ask you to fix it” - This is official comic book art - if it deserves to be fixed then people shouldn’t have to ask! The edited version looks AMAZING and you just sound as if you’re pissed off because you like to fap to the original.

in light of jsc noticing my edit, i thought it’d be funny to entirely redo it lol. i don’t really wanna post it on my own blog this time so here, so you have something to post (and a bonus comparison gif because watching spider-man’s butt inflate and deflate is kinda mesmerising, and so that people can see that no, i did not change her boob size)

It’s not close enough to be incest. Middle-eastern peoples with a culture of marrying their cousins, on the other hand.... but oh yes, tumblr approves of their incest because “it’s their culture” but not distant relations of royals. I’m all for hating the British royals but calling it incest is quite frankly ridiculous when you're not shaming the middle-eastern people for it.

That are way too many steps away to claim as incest as they’re barely related at all unless they’re siblings or cousins. Middle-easterns marry their cousins all the time, and I have yet to see all you woke people on tumblr pointing fingers at them and shaming them for incest.

@englishthorns NO, the Jewish people DID NOT build the pyramids. The Egyptian workers that built the pyramids and hauled those big-ass stones in place were PAID, ate plenty enough of MEAT, and had the BEST HEALTHCARE. Stop believing pathetic old lies and start reading up on actual real facts.

@cant-decide-the-name   That feel when idiots still claims in the year 2021 that slaves built the pyramids. They were hired Egyptian workers (farmers when the Nile was flooding) with full access to decent lodgings, plenty of food with meat (as discovered by animal bones at the lodgings) and the best healthcare. Such things weren’t wasted on slaves!

EXACTLY, people on Tumblr LOVE to “forget” about these details. The Ishtar gate was taken away WITH PERMISSION and if it had remained in Iraq, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED BY I.S., just like so many other things. Tumblr love to forget that these things STILL EXISTS TODAY because they were moved to other countries. When I.S. has been destroyed and the land will be safe for people and monuments alike, it can and should be returned. But if it hadn’t been moved, there’d be nothing left for the world to see at all.
okay maybe this is common knowledge but not to me
