Yup!!

So, this is the part where I need to restrain myself because I don't want to get all overconfident and not deliver on all of the branching. Here are my current ideas:

Circus -> Talent Stats:

Aerialist -> Singer

Acrobat -> Dancer

Clown -> Actor

Juggler -> Musician

It would take longer to code, but I could try to write it so that the circus talent and present talent stats can be chosen separately, and certain choices simply pair better together. But in my head, I don't know how much sense that makes because of how MC was well-known at the circus for that one main talent. So them suddenly switching to another feels kind of messy and illogical?

So what is it about MC that A hates so much?

To keep it short and non-spoilery, their very existence. It poses a threat to their legacy, at least, that's what they've been told growing up. It's not path-specific in that A will automatically despise MC regardless of their personality.

Cooking several MCs as we speak... For now I have a clearer image of my A-romancer MC— a total sweetheart, that one, who smiles and laughs freely even under the pressure of fame. A causes her to have heart palpitations, though. If they dare to flirt with her she'll become horribly flustered. Pretends they don't affect her at all (and fails miserably).

Alistair/Alice Delacroix (THE RIVAL) - October 31 (Scorpio); They LOVE to celebrate their birthday! They throw grand birthday parties every year

Samuel/Samantha "Sam" Kaminski (THE BOSS) - February 14 (Aquarius); They prefer spending their birthday alone in contemplation or with a few close friends at best

Hendrik/Helena Rietveld (THE BODYGUARD) - April 21 (Aries); They don't really celebrate their birthday, there have been birthdays where they forgot it was their birthday 😭

Jesse Lê (THE FRIEND DETECTIVE) - May 17 (Taurus); Their family wasn't intent on making their birthday a super big deal, but they try to make that day more special now by spoiling themselves with a lil treat <33

Alistair/Alice Delacroix (THE RIVAL) - They definitely want to be with someone who is as obsessed with them as they will be in return. Someone who is unconditionally loyal with a twisted sense of humor. And they definitely believe in love at first sight!

Samuel/Samantha "Sam" Kaminski (THE BOSS) - An intellectual and a free spirit (but not too frivolous) would be ideal for them. And I think they're more fascinated with the idea of love at first sight rather than actually believing in it

Hendrik/Helena Rietveld (THE BODYGUARD) - They would be attracted to someone who is responsible and patient, but also passionately optimistic to contrast their pragmatic nature. They wouldn't admit this to anyone, but in their eyes, love at first sight feels like an unattainable dream

Jesse Lê (THE FRIEND DETECTIVE) - Someone who's very empathic, compassionate with everyone, and has a strong sense of justice. And despite their past, they definitely never lost faith in experiencing love at first sight!

🔧 WRENCH - are they good at fixing relationships? or do they tend to avoid doing so?

Alistair/Alice Delacroix (THE RIVAL) - Erm...n0. They're usually the ones ruining the relationship, and have no incentive to fix them 😭 They've had the upper hand their whole life, so losing a relationship isn't going to take any of their privilege away

Samuel/Samantha "Sam" Kaminski (THE BOSS) - Yeah!! They don't like living with regrets or leaving loose ends y'know? They'd rather have a calm, respectful conversation about what is and isn't working out. But I will have it on record that they don't try and involve themselves in relationships in the first place, thus avoiding the relationship-fixing conflict

Hendrik/Helena Rietveld (THE BODYGUARD) - ...They would really try, after being in denial about the problems within the relationship. I feel like at some point though, they would just resign to the fact that they're not worthy of being in a relationship or being loved. Besides, it would save a lot of unnecessary stress. I feel like some people would have this dream of "fixing" them so their partner would likely be the one initiating any relationship fixing

Jesse Lê (THE FRIEND DETECTIVE) - Anyone who's been near J for even the shortest amount of time would be able to tell you how well intentioned they are. They would never want to upset their partner due to their own trauma, and they would really do whatever is in their power to salvage the relationship. Ironically, I feel like they get really in their own head, which would inevitably lead to the downfall of their relationship

💗 GROWING HEART - if they have a crush, is it noticable? what changes when they're in love?

For the ROs again!! I'm answering these with reference to the MC btw just in case I wasn't clear before

Alistair/Alice Delacroix (THE RIVAL) - Oh definitely. Their overall demeanor becomes extremely different. People catch them twirling and humming and smiling... and rightfully find it unsettling. At first, they don't really get what's happening. People know A is pretty unpredictable, but being this joyful is unlike them. In truth, it's an innocent mask that hides the dark, twisted, sinister obsession they call love.

Samuel/Samantha "Sam" Kaminski (THE BOSS) - I have a feeling S will make more sense when you get to know their backstory, but they're not the type to be in denial about their feelings. They don't act super bubbly or nervous, it's more of a quiet realization that they want to spend the rest of their life with this person. S is strategic enough to know when to confess their feelings though, since they would never want to overstep the other's boundaries. They would likely start off by making room in their busy schedule to spend time with their "crush" before moving onto grand gestures!

Hendrik/Helena Rietveld (THE BODYGUARD) - They would try to rationalize their feelings and/or chalk it up to circumstances. H knows that their line of work isn't really suitable for relationships, which inherently require indefinite loyalty. They don't want to hurt or disappoint people they care about, but obviously you can't push down your feelings! Overall, they'd have more of a zest for life, and they'd definitely make themselves available to the person they like like you may even get to see them smile so that's an automatic W

Jesse Lê (THE FRIEND DETECTIVE) - They're literally so down bad, it's noticeable to everyone. Ngl, they get made fun of for it because they think they're being all nonchalant spoiler alert they're VERY chalant when it comes to MC 😭 You talk to them once, and they replay that conversation when they get back home. Jesse babe, go to sleep!!

Alistair/Alice Delacroix (THE RIVAL) - "Miss" would be an understatement. They crave your presence when you're not around. They feel most human when you're around. They don't really want to imagine a life where MC doesn't exist. A's close associates could attest to how...different they've been after they met MC

Samuel/Samantha "Sam" Kaminski (THE BOSS) - S has spent a lot of their life feeling alone in crowded rooms. It was more of a voluntary isolation though, as they're very particular about the people they choose to spend their time around. Before meeting MC, they would have been fine spending their time without a significant other. But after? They would have a lingering restlessness settled in the back of their mind. It would be difficult for others to pick up on it though, S is really good at maintaining appearances when needed

Hendrik/Helena Rietveld (THE BODYGUARD) - There is no doubt that H would miss MC, but they would be able to compartmentalize their feelings really well because they refuse to let their emotions interfere with their work. When MC's not around, they're much sterner, and lowkey unapproachable, so don't even bother asking for a favor if MC isn't in their vicinity

Jesse Lê (THE FRIEND DETECTIVE) - OH ABSOLUTELY YES!! Especially given the fact that they've lost MC before, they're certainly worried it could happen again, and always want to make the most of their time whenever they're together. They'd still be able to hold it together if MC wasn't around, they've had to do that for over a decade, but when MC gets back, they'd be so clingy (affectionate)

They love beaches so much, it's where they feel most at peace with themselves. One of their favorites would be the Corsica beach near their childhood estate

A is a lot of things, but they are not lazy, and they don't associate with people who lack ambition. Anyone who implies otherwise likely has a death wish

They love to play games. Any kind of game. But they have a knack for solving riddles and puzzles!

A is known for their dual gift giving nature. They make people go like "Oh hey, here's a very nice normal, reasonably expensive gift" and then the other is like...a portrait made with the blood of their enemies or some shit 😭

I'm just really curious about this; how would you rank the ROs' routes based on most slow-burn to least? <3 [And, do you have a favorite? ;)]

Howdy Anon!! It's going pretty swell so far, thanks for asking! And ofc it's okay to ask about RO-related stuff! I think most people have sent me asks about RO facts specifically, but tbh I love getting any kind of ask so I'm not super restrictive (unless they're spoilers ofc but I'd let you know in that case)

Hmmmm for the slowburn question I would say:

(most slowburn) S -> H -> J -> A (least slowburn)

But I feel like a more accurate answer would be S & H have more of a slow-burn while J & A have less of a slow-burn! I wanted there to be a balance <3

I feel bad saying I have a favorite 😭 because I genuinely love all of them very much (whoever I'm writing for in that moment becomes my favorite if that makes sense). But I will say H had an unfair advantage at first because they're modelled based after two of my Desi characters of all time (Doran and Amala my darlings). But in all honesty, all of the ROs are inspired by my faves one way or another so none of the routes are going to be put at a disadvantage :)
