The folks of the gg fandom discord were discussing the ways that Jägers have changed in appearance since the first page. And one person was mourning the disappearance of the Volume One Jäger needle teeth. (So valid, it was an excellent feature)

So I agreed and suggested "Draw the needle teeth you want to see in the world, I guess?" unfortunately Jägers are not included in their art skillset. And so I figured "I suppose I must draw the needle teeth you wish to see in the world". And thus my fate was sealed. A "quick sketch" (ha! I should know better than that by now) turned into a colored shaded drawing with carefully colored lineart. I do believe something like 5-6 hours were passed in this manner of painstaking lineart and unnecessary (albeit loose) rendering.

The moral of this story, as with any attempt at quick digital sketches, is that I cannot be trusted with the art app. Inevitably a casual affair turns into a several-hour-long details fest. Such are the hazards of having your cell phone be your digital drawing device.

Does this mean I will stop? No, of course not. As with every mishap of this variety I learned so much about my drawing abilities and the features of my long-beloved art app.

Gradually I am acquiring new skills and abilities. Someday I will be able to create things that used to be well outside my capabilities. Through the power of Autistic Hyperfixation and ADHD Hyperfocus Fugue-State we can accomplish anything!

It's wild how even the strongest hyperfixations can seem to vanish (or be replaced) overnight. I read GG back in middle school but never watched the show. I still follow you because you're just an awesome person. Also, I would die for your URL.

it really is so crazy. i think about this pretty often like how i was deeply obsessed with st (mainly steve) and thought about it every day in my free time, wrote fics, built very complex vast headcanons and concepts with em daily, associated music to it, etc for yearsssss and then literally in one day i was like oh. the urge has passed. and i think a large part of that is obv the three year hiatus with no new content, plus the decline in quality and hope that steve would get an actually interesting plotline in the final season, etc. but it’s just crazy how it was like a switch being flipped! and literally all from watching gossip girl. gossip girl on the cw. gossip girl 2007-2012.

Finally bringing back Splatoon art ^^

The recent Grand Festival splatfest event has brought that Splatoon hyperfixation back, and I've decided to make it everyone's problem XD

There will still be more splatfests in the future, I know this, but not with any new themes, only older re-occuring themes for seasonal events, which I am still looking forward to, though :D

Nevertheless, thank you Splatoon 3 (or the franchise in general) for being what you are and bringing my attention to such a cool game, with a captivating story and such amazing characters to go with it. Not really sure where I'd be right now, had I never heard of the game to begin with, as it's one of the main factors in finding quite a coupld of my current friends, as well being a main reason as to why I started drawing humanoid characters in the first place ^^"

Hi! Not sure if you've talked about this but did B and M knew each other before the show? What did their timeline look like? Thank you for always replying!

Hiya :)

No, they didn't know each other beforehand. They met at their chemistry read which took place a couple of weeks before shooting the pilot, so probably late February 2003. Ben was the last principal actor cast and iirc was officially cast like a week or two before they shot the pilot.

I can give you a rough timeline of the bare bones of things during s1. I have a more detailed timeline because I'm insane and curious and hyperfixate on things. And I know that sounds weird and cagey lol but I always try to answer things as best as I can. I've spent a ~lot~ of time putting things together and combing dead sites, reading old tabloids, etc. And MB sometimes speaks in hyperbole so when she says "right out of the gate" I don't necessarily take that to mean during the pilot shoot. But I also don't know. I think these two have sparks on overdrive during the iconic "Whoever you want me to be" scene and I think everyone on set could easily tell. So.

Late February 2003: meet at chemistry test

Mid-March: film the pilot

Mid-May: upfronts in New York, followed by the first Camp Gallagher with all the regulars, resume filming soon after

June: MB mentions going to cast dinners

Late July: premiere party (these pics have always been SO couple-y); think they're filming 106 at this point

Early August: teen choice awards, the pilot airs 3 days after this. so that's 3 months of the cast partying and living in relative anonymity; MB is a rising it girl (and was before the show) but not papped

September 8: MB on Kimmel, her first late night talk show and she is so sweet and clearly not yet media trained

September 12: Ben's 25th birthday

Late October: Ben/Mischa/Adam go to New York on a press trip (YM party/TRL); TRL is the loudest piece of evidence in the world

December 4: Motorola. Scratch what I just said. Motorola is the biggest piece of evidence in the world; BM are quite literally on the cover of Us Weekly two and a half weeks later because of Motorola shenanigans. A blogger at E says they've been together for months; the final scene of 115 is shot earlier this day

December 10: Billboard Awards in Vegas. At this point AR are clearly also dating but both couples are on their best behavior

January 24, 2004: Mischa's 18th birthday. Tabloid says Ben was there with Rachel/Melinda/Samaire but that Adam missed the party. At this point in time tabloids barely talked about the cast and had little reason to lie. So many tabloids from this era ended up being true which is just... wild

January 25: Golden Globes. BM are pictured together, holding hands dancing, etc; MB and her rep deny the rumors in the press immediately after

Which brings me to the breakup. Or at least a break. A lot of couples in this era made their debuts as couples once the girl turned 18 (think Wilmer/Lindsay) so it's been assumed forever that that's what the GGs were doing. But for MB to quickly deny it still tells me the wheels fell off very quickly with them. I assume there was a BUNCH of weirdness being thrown at her from all sides about turning 18 too. All of this is so so sooooo insane to me still btw

February 24: MB denies dating Ben to Ellen and meets Brandon the same day this airs

Early March: MB starts dating Brandon

March 9: Paley Fest; AR/BM deny dating rumors, Ben opines about the press invasions into his personal life, says he wishes the rumors were true; they are filming 125 at this time; ETA: BM are still in good spirits with one another so their hatred era has not started yet

March 11: MB walks a red carpet with Brandon

March-April is Mischa/Brandon PDA 24/7 and I imagine TPTB/Ben are extremely pissed at her for it

April 20: s1 finale party (127 finished filming a few days before); BM do not pose for photos together

1. neil josten: definitely that one k-pop idol who korean fans hate but international fans love. man’s definitely created a twitter/tiktok account dedicated to defending his members (especially a certain andrew minyard) that somehow managed to blow up so he’s basically living a double life lmao. he gives me main dancer energy but i feel like he could also be a main rapper

2. andrew minyard: he would be the k-pop idol that everyone thinks is untalented and unskilled and like makes everyone so confused as to how he debuted but then suddenly actually put effort into performing one day and everyone’s like “holy shit he’s actually GOOD???” he gives me all-rounder vibes ngl but i feel like he’d be a good singer (please tell me if he’s like canonically a shit singer or smth that would be so funny)

3. kevin day: leader obviously (though i feel like the foxes would have that thing where there’s like a leader and a co-leader ykwim?) but anyways probably the one that’s like really blunt and critiques the other members during practice which some stans hate bc yk but also a good portion of the fandom would really appreciate bc his criticism and borderline insults actually help the members improve pretty well. leader, main dancer, lead vocals probably

4. nicky hemmick: the guy that you either love or hate, there is literally no in between. honestly seems pretty likable at first but then makes some low key messed up jokes that puts people off. really talented tho, possibly ace/allrounder. he also would eat gg choreos up

5. aaron minyard: the “normal” minyard (he very much is not) prob the one that the cishet girlies love bc he gives off “mysterious bad boy” energy when he’s literally a fucking nerd lmao. STAN ATTRACTOR literally the felix of this hypothetical k-pop group. i feel like he and andrew got scouted to be a k-pop idol while they were buying groceries or something and were like eh why not and auditioned for fun just to actually pass

Here's what I think Wolftopia would look like if she was added to MW&GG. She'd be the character that they'd shove all the pop culture references into. Typical girl next door, new girl in the neighborhood. She's also in every modern fandom known to man, anime, furry, fnaf etc.

Now if you're a smart and capable human who's already so good at being an adult then you might not need these advices. But if you're kinda gullible and young and eat instant noodles for dinner sometimes like me, this post might be for you!

1. "You're up for commissions? DM me!"

See, these jerks probably follow the #commission tag on insta to find their easy target. You have the comm sheet right there clear as daylight and they STILL ask this thing in your post's comments. And they don't even want to DM you, YOU DM THEM! Absolutely horrible commission etiquette! I think it's best to ignore these comments even if you're not sure about their intentions.

2. Random acc with 2 posts and 200+ followers casually walks up to your DMs and says: "Will you draw my pet for 200$??"

Suuuper basic tactics for scammers to initiate their hustle. They're just soooo basic and soooo boring they can't come up with anything else for you to draw they HAVE to be like "I don't give a damn about what you usually do or what weird fandom hyperfixation pills you're on but here's an easy-to come-up-with art idea!". And a fricking fortune for pets portraits?? Come on.

Yes, check the account too if you smell something fishy. Even if it's profile is an innocent old looking lady who seems really rude at texting for some reasons, it's worth being cautious about.

3. "Aww man something's wrong with your PayPal link, can you send me your email name instead?"

Now of course I'm not saying everyone who wants a pet drawing is a scammer. If you're still unsure or see nothing suspicious about the client, feel free to continue the conversation!

But oh noooo, every damn time they seem to have some fricking issue with your PayPal link! They DEMAND to know your email! Or offer to send the payment in some really vague foreign way. Alrighty, no big deal yet, it's not like they want to know your Roblox password or GG search history right? Let's see what might happen next!

4. Nope, no payment sent, but oooo, new email! So fun, let's check!

BAM! An "official" mail from PayPal. Some weird issue occurred and *inserts bullcrap explanation* now you have to like, send them back 500$ out of nowhere! Wait, what?!

Calm down, don't do anything yet (even if the "client" is so rudely pressuring you cuz you 'own' them cash now) Go through everything as thorough like it's your life crisis and notice that this email has an embarrassing typo! Perhaps... this is not a PayPal mail? Well no crap! You know exactly who sent it you silly goose! Plus these losers do be using ugly ass fonts amirite? Smh.

5. They're so obviously not interested in your art

Some of these bastards are just so vague about what they want for their art, you know? Instead of going on and on about the details, like do they want it coloured or not, what the artstyle is, yada yada bla bla bla, all they're excited about is getting to the payment part! The fun part of the hustle, yayyyy!! Oh and they're oddly rude and distant in the way they talk sometimes. Unacceptable even for scammers! If you want my money at least be nice!

6. So what do you do with these guys?

Block, delete, report and run!! And if you're still mad at them for lying to you, don't forget to tell those mfs to get a life instead of trying to scam someone who already knows how to make terrible financial decisions!! (it's me, I'm someone)

Entry No. BRD~ASW: Conflicted Identity

... I’ve wanted to talk about this for a while. I talked about a part of it on Twitter a few months back, but I really need to get it all off my chest here, whatever shit I get be damned. In 2013-2014, my freshman year of highschool, I got introuced to Arc System Works through junior/senior pals introducin’ me to BlazBlue, a franchise that didn’t take long to take root in my heart. I would end up usin’ it as part of my online handle, “BlazRegaliaDream”, and I have stuck with it as the name I use when I sign my art. I’m not the biggest fan, but BlazBlue was a hyperfixation for 4 years since I discovered it. After a serious burnout in 2018, I tried movin’ my sights onto other franchises, but the love held on as a tiny ember that I’d occassionally stoke from just playin’ BBTAG and eventually findin’ a couple of close friends to talk about the franchise and keep tabs on it. Also throughout this time, I also would eye Guilty Gear, seen it around between XX and Xrd, and while it didn’t become a hyperfixation, I thought it was pretty cool. (and I still do lol) Fast forward to 2021. StrIVe has been out, haven’t played it yet. Friends are deep into the JP exclusive mobile BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War, which started at the beginnin’ of the same year. I was eyein’ it, but didn’t wanna sink into another mobile since I already had FEH and FGO (with a few others I fell in and out of). October, I revisit my old BB OC project and then on a whim, I decided to try BBDW. Wouldn’t you know it, I fell in love with BlazBlue all over again and even if I was stuck with a mobile game for new content, I was ready for the future of the franchise post-C-series. And then a month in, BBDW was announced to shutdown in January due to morale issues for the team. “Well shit, I mean, maybe there’s still a shot later, right?” 2022, creator of BlazBlue, Mori, leaves ASW for reasons we may never know. ASW insists that they still want to keep BB alive, but later, an interview reveals they’re supposedly lettin’ GG hog the spotlight because they don’t want the two franchises competin’ Between this and the awful, awful disaster that was Bridget’s return to StrIVe, everythin’ begins lookin’ all too dire... I hate the current state of ArcSystemWorks. I’m so conflicted, so angry with this company, and I just don’t know how to articulate it all so smoothly. My favorite franchise may as well be dead, 6 feet buried, as the creator has left and started his own company and who knows if they’d bother to get him for a new entry, and with the shit surroundin’ StrIVe, I don’t think I can trust this company to revive BlazBlue proper. Is Team Blue even still a thing? It feels like after everythin’, I’ve been gut punched and spitted in the face.

... *sigh* Dammit, there's much I wanted to say, but as I'm typin' this, the words have fled.

I'm just lost. Where do I go from here? The company I once admired just fills me with nothin' but fury, and GG ain't even the first franchise I've seen to pull the shit it has and for what!?

I've thought about rebrandin' before, but I'm too attached to the handle even after everythin', yet still... I just wanted people to see how cool BlazBlue is, and the monkey's paw curled...
