makes me laugh how in episode 3x08 when beth goes see rio at the bar to get back in his good graces she has this master plan to dress hot af and use his attraction to her to soften him up and the outfit she chooses is a polka dot dress that goes past her knees and her elbows. shes like you know whats sexy and will get the tatted up gangster going? polka dots

Or you know what it is, actually? It’s not the dress. It’s what the dress represents. Just like it’s not like Beth is the most amazing sexy woman he’s ever met. It’s her whole persona that does it for him. The fact that she pulled out all the stops…

Like, she clearly put forth effort and was on a mission. He likes it when she’s manipulative. Or maybe not “likes” it, but is certainly drawn to it despite his best judgement.

“Anything, huh?” I swear, that line speaks so much. It’s so knowing and bitter and kinda resigned. Because he knoooooowwwwsss. He knows he won’t kill her. So he gives her this stupid little chore to do to keep her busy and “prove herself.” This man is out of control.

Can we also talk about the song in this episode? It’s one of my favorite Beth songs. The one that plays as she’s getting dolled up for him. It being played from Beth’s perspective really speaks to how self-aware she actually is and how in her private moments she sometimes allows herself honesty.
