okay, obligatory jess headcanon dump since, yeah, she's another technically-a-canon-muse-but-also-almost-an-OC considering sp.n canon. this is mostly focused on canon verse, but i throw in a few AU headcanons here and there

had a fairly standard childhood growing up in redding, california. very stereotypical middle class, suburban, mostly healthy childhood

very close with her parents, though her and her parents did have a rough patch during jess's high school years

three siblings! Heather ( her older sister ), Joshua ( her younger brother ), and Amanda ( the youngest of the siblings )

she's closer with Josh and Amanda—she loves her older sister, but they don't always see eye-to-eye

her grandmother was a folk magic practitioner and, upon jess showing some interest in it, taught her some very minimal aspects of it. jess is not necessarily witchy in canon verse, though in her hunter AU she leans back into this tradition and very much ends up being a genuine witch ( although less folk and more eclectic )

her grandmother gave her a protective amulet and, while she's not sure whether she believes in it, she does wear it fairly often and especially on Big Days. in her hunter AU, she pretty much never takes it off. she definitely explained it to sam as like "i know it's silly and you probably don't believe in that stuff but—" and you know he was just 🧍

spiritual but like. . . semi-agnostic. open-minded but skeptical is probably a good description. definitely not the type to believe in organized religion tho. she def vibes with sam's whole praying-to-the-angels thing, though she's more likely to repeat one of the quick pagan prayers her grandmother taught her. she might not be sure if she believes in the gods, but it can be a comfort at times

open to the idea of ghosts, but has never had a paranormal experience and believes most peoples "ghost experiences" are bogus

i know this is so funny but she's, like, vehemently against the idea of demons / hell / lucifer. like, she is never going to believe they exist without firsthand proof. lbr, she's so real for this but this is sp.n so like. uh. your boyfriend is the devil's vessel or whatever.

definitely going with the Classic jess-is-also-pursuing-being-a-lawyer!! she wants to be a human rights / civil defense lawyer. she also definitely would have been the type to ( if able ) pursue lifelong education. continuing to pursue degrees on the side is Big Jess Energy

obv this is just Default or whatever, but her and sam give me big "we immediately hit it off and were Just Friends for awhile before finally dating" and i'm gonna be sooooo real: i think jess made the first move. i think one day she was just like "well if you're not going to ask me out, i guess i'll just have to do it" out of the fucking blue <3

no but really, they are the definition of "your partner should just be your best friend with added intimacy"

sam's biggest advocate, she would have fist fought john if he'd ever shown his face ( exaggerating but metaphorically it's true ). guy who says something vague but alarming abt his childhood / family and she's like "uh okay sorry actually that's bad. you know that's bad right."

jess giving sam a place to absolutely fuck up being "normal" ( new to him ) and she'll just laugh it off unless it's really bad even if she knows deep down he's not just Quirky and something was seriously wrong with his childhood. like, i'm telling you: she caught it early, there's no way this guy pulled off Normal College Student initially. he said something fundamentally Off to the normal world within 48 hrs of knowing jess and internally she was like "okay what—"

sam giving jess space to let her Perfectionism down and just be silly and weird and not, like, have to fit into the whole Perfect Student Perfect Person bullshit. it's like. what if sam wants So Bad to be normal and jess wants So Bad to not have to be "normal" and they both give each other that. anyway

she's bisexual, you're not shocked because she's written by me. anyway her first kiss was during a slumber party with her Totally Just Best Friend. they never dated, jess didn't genuinely realize she wasn't straight for two years. just Normal Girl Things.

had a boyfriend of two years in high school, which was her only major relationship before sam. it was the perfect example of "this relationship was over way before we ended it"

has a small tattoos of a moon and stars on her upper left arm!! she's open to getting a few more tattoos, but they'd likely all be small

has a record collection!!

she absolutely loves taking photos and regularly keeps a camera with her

i think she could be so funny in the hunter AU. just revenge-driven enough to actually be a semi-bad influence on sam, still smart enough to try to reel him and dean back in sometimes. i can just picture sam rubbing his temples while her and dean argue ( affectionate )

btw my default hunter AU would obv involve her still being with sam and, by extension, dean, but lbr i'm open to wild ass AUs where she's just straight up a solo hunter. she's in a single episode for like 3 scenes, i'm stealing her from sp.n. she's mine now.

anyway gabi variant whose a reality traveller like wishi. she travels the same way wishi does (through portals but sometimes they kinda just phase in and out bc it's funny) except she's also able to dream-walk through realities.

(no super real visual differences between her and the usual csm gabi's. she just doesn't have the abnormal traits (ahoge, eye rings, and the line down her spine. though i'm contemplating letting her keep the ahoge bc it's cute. visual difference is because this gabi never needed wishi to give her powers, she kinda just spawned in with them 🙇🏽‍♀️)

she has a silly "meet-cute" kind of thing w/ denji after accidentally going into his dream while she slept normally. they meet each other more often in his dreams and they start falling in love w/ one another; denji thinks she's literally his dream girl (but also in a metaphorical sense because she is, in a way, his dream girl) while gabi knows the truth and just doesn't correct him. 🔽🔽

they do end up meeting irl after gabi actually travels to his reality while trying to escape something else. she kinda just gets spit out via portal into his kitchen in the middle of breakfast lowkey and denji goes "omg it's my dream gf !!! whaght is she doing in my kitchen ..." and she goes "...." cause she hit her head on the counter so she's outta there @-@

ermm other stuff happen I guesssss but that's unimportant !!! the real importance is the fact that they're actually together now in REAL life !!!! no need for gabi to hijack his dreams to see his cute ass face when she can kiss it in the waking world 😋✌🏽!!!

tho they still do sleep 2gether 100%. they gotta !!! but this time they actually get to rest because they know they'll see each other in the waking world 🫶🏽

An annoyed huff comes from behind him where Iako has been trying to get his attention for the past... hour? Well, it's more of a whine really and she was beginning to think he was doing it on purpose. "Can you just-" She cuts herself off, the first words she's spoken all evening, having just been using actions to try and get on his nerves and hearing how desperate she sounded caused her to pause. " .... Get a little mad, just a little? Come on. I'm so annoying! Fight me!" Like she'd ever actually throw a punch, but he was definitely used to her trying to get him to playfight and she enjoyed it! (Not the main reason being his body over hers, nope!!)

Shuichi may or may not have purposely pretended that he didn't notice Iako silently trying to get his attention this whole time, as he reads his book. As in: he most definitely was doing this on purpose to tease her. Not only because he finds her super cute when she wants his attention this bad, but also because he knows it's not the reaction she wants, as evident when she finally does speak up, and asks him to get mad at her.

"Hmmm...." Pausing in his 'reading', he closes his eyes, seemingly in thought, before turning his head to look towards her, and playfully bop the top of her head with his book with a teasing smile. "No. I won't get mad no matter how much you want me to! Also you're not annoying."

But even he couldn't be too mean and tease her forever; plus, he's sure she won't stop until he indulges her and playfights... and so, he'll put his book down and stand up from seat while saying: "Alright, alright... you leave me no choice!"

Before lightly 'tackling' her down to the bed, with one hand cupping the back of her head, just to make extra sure her head plopped softly onto the bed. Then he'll stare down at her with a widening smirk. "Surprise attack...heh heh...there. Are you happy, now? You big dork.." And leans in to give her a kiss, while giving her hair a wild ruffle, now.
