@rebelwrites: FanFic Friday Week 3
Full Metal x Reader
Full Metal has a sister
Inspiration Photo:
Scott “Full Metal” Carter stared at the burning wreck in disbelief. His sister’s 2011 Toyota Corolla was wrapped around a light pole. The body in the driver’s seat was charred beyond recognition after the explosion that engulfed the vehicle in flames.
Bravo stood in a half circle behind him, all silent, while watching the car burn. The fire department was waiting for the accelerant to burn down before putting the vehicle out completely. Then they’d begin their investigation into the crash and explosion before they removed the body from the front seat.
Metal reached for his phone and hit her contact again. He pressed his phone to his ear and listed to it ring and ring and ring before it went to voicemail.
“Hey this is Y/N, leave a message and I’ll call back as soon as possible.”
Metal squeezed the phone and swallowed. This time he left a voicemail. “Y/N, I need you to call me,” his voice cracked. He cleared his throat and tried again. “Y/N, please sister. Just please call me.” He was past of caring if Bravo saw him beg.
~*~
Bravo Team is sitting around Metal’s living room, watching Metal pace back and forth. There were no identifiable features on the body in the car. Until the police were able to match the dental records, there was no way of knowing if it was his sister or not.
He tried her cell again. Straight to voicemail.
There was a knock on the front door and Metal’s head snapped up. Ray grabbed the door and greeted the two plain clothed detectives with a nod and invited them in. The two men glanced around the room, taking in Bravo Team sitting around.
“Looking for Scott Carter,” one of the detectives announced.
“You got him,” Metal stopped pacing and nodded at the officer. “Have you identified the body yet?” Metal asked.
The blonde-haired man before him shook his head sadly, “Unfortunately dental records will take several days. But we have been looking into your sister’s background. It looks like the car was reported stolen last night.”
Metal’s heart pounded in his chest, and he reached for his phone again. He called again and growled when it went straight to voicemail.
“We also found a restraining order placed earlier this week against a Dylan Myers,” the dark hair detective stated.
Scott narrowed his eyes on the Detectives. “Her ex,” Metal nodded. “So, what are you saying? Are you suggesting foul play?”
“We believe it’s a real possibility,” the detective nodded solemnly.
Metal felt his blood run cold. Bravo shifted in their seats around the room.
“We’re trying to put together a timeline here,” Blondie continued. “Last week police respond to Y/N’s residence for a domestic violence call. Two days later, Y/N files a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. Then last night she reports the car stolen. We have reason to believe that the ex-boyfriend is somehow involved. When’s the last time you saw your sister?”
Metal runs a hand over his hat covered hair. “Uh, I’ve been out of the country for a couple days. Maybe Wednesday?” he asked or told. He didn’t even know which at this point.
~*~
You sigh as you pull into the driveway of your brother’s ranch style home. It was modest and quaint. Simple really. It suited Scott perfectly. All he needed and then some.
You saw the unmarked parked on the street the moment you turned down the road. Scott had taught you to always be aware of your surroundings. Your job had taught you to recognize even the most subtle hints to an undercover car. And this one was clearly a mod job, taken out of the impound lot after a mark failed to post bond.
So, detectives were in the house. As was all of Bravo Team, from the looks of all the other vehicles.
You turn off the engine to Harvey’s Aston Martin and slowly climb out of the car. Your legs and feet are aching. You were on your feet in the courthouse all day. You reach over and grab your stilettos and slide them on your feet. The idea of walking into the house, not fully dressed and pristine to greet the Detectives has you straightening your expensive suit and skirt.
A quick pat to make sure your chignon was still pristine, and you strut up the front walk to the house. At least one of the detectives was looking out the window at you.
You open the door, and the room engulfs in cheers.
Scott storms between the two Detectives and push them out of the way to pull you into his arms. “Y/N, Jesus. What the fuck? Why the fuck haven’t you answered my calls? I’ve been calling all day?”
You embrace him, happy to see him, even if he’s trying to squeeze the life out of you. You close your eyes and rest your head against your big brother’s chest. He’s always had a way of calming you down. You take in his rapid heartbeat and breathe in the masculine scent that is all Scott Carter.
“Y/N, where the hell you been?” Scott demanded in a tone that brought back growing up with him. That, I’m older than you, so I know more, tone that grated on your nerves and shot you straight into bitch mode.
You pull away from instantly and snap your eyes to his. Both hands go to your hips, and you can feel Bravo’s eyes on you as you stare down your brother, Clay’s are especially glued to you. “Excuse me?” you demand.
“Y/N, they found your car with a body in it!” Scott shouted. “I watched it burn on the side of the fucking road! So, where the fuck were you? I called you a million fuckin times today!”
You tilt your head to the side and observe your brother for a moment. He is utterly distraught. He honestly believed he lost you today. It rattled you to see your strong and “I was at work…” you begin slowly, know the detectives were right behind you, taking in every word. “I’ve been in the Court Room all day on the Sanderson’s trial. I lost my phone. I think it might have been in my car when it was stolen. I sent you an email this morning.”
Scott stared down at you utterly speechless. That was a first.
“Ma’am,” one of the Detective’s cut in.
You glance away from Scott and look at the blond-haired Detective over your shoulder and raise an eyebrow at him. He was interrupting personal family time. You wait, eyebrow raised, for him to continue.
“Would you mind answering some questions for us?” Blondie continued.
You turn your body to him fully and cross your arms over your chest. “And who might you be?” You give him a stare that would send a lesser man running.
Blondie’s eyes narrow on you slightly, assessing.
Yeah, pretty boy, I’m more than just a pretty face, you think.
“Detective Adam Ruzek and this is my partner, Detective Nick Kincaid,” Blondie introduces.
“I’ll need to see some ID’s,” you hold out your hand expectantly.
Again, blondie, or rather Ruzek, eyes you momentarily. You can see the wariness in his gaze. You hold off a smirk, and wait, hand extended. Kincaid hands you his badge and police ID first, slapping it in your hand while you have a stare off with Ruzek.
You glance down at the ID and nod. “Detective Nicholas Kincaid, badge number 684923,” you drawl out slowly to the roomful of very intelligent Navy SEALS.
You hear Clay’s cough to cover a laugh and have to fight a smirk. You look up at Detective Kincaid and nod in thanks as you hand him back his badge and ID. “You’re the Captain’s son, correct?”
Nick Kincaid looks you over, assessing his opponent now that it was his turn. “That’s right,” he nodded slowly.
You nod thoughtfully. “I’m actually having lunch with him tomorrow,” you explain and cross your arms over your chest again. “He’s a key witness in the Sanderson Trial.”
You watch Detective Kincaid run his eyes over your face, trying to place your face with a memory. You can see the moment recognition dawns in his eyes. “You’re Assistant District Attorney Y/N Carter. The ADA that put away, Sean Calloway. I didn’t know the DA’s office was working the Sanderson Trial,” Kincaid states.
You smirk then. “It’s not. I’ve moved on from the DA’s office. Private sector pays more.” You eye Ruzek, taking in how he hasn’t taken his eyes off of you. Studying you. “Your ID please?” you put your hand out expectantly again and tilt your head at him.
There’s a slight glare in his eyes as he watches you, but still reaches for his badge and ID. He places it in your hand, and you ignore him completely as you look down at it. “Detective Adam Ruzek, badge number 796842,” you drawl again to the room.
“Ma’am, we’d like to ask you a couple questions,” Ruzek cuts to the chase as he pulls his badge out of your hands.
You raise eyebrow at him and cross your arms over your chest again. “Alright Detective,” you eye him contemplatively. Scott shifts behind you, and you can feel the anger radiating off him. He didn’t like this Detective anymore than you did. “How can I help you?”
Before Ruzek could ask anything, you turn to Sonny and give him a soft smile. “Hey Sonny, can you grab me a beer please?”
“Yes ma’am,” Sonny drawls with grin and gets to his feet.
You take the time to survey the rest of Bravo. They’re all nervous smiles for the most part. Not one of them seem to like the vibes the Detectives, namely Ruzek are giving off.
Sonny presses a beer into your hand, and you nod gratefully. You take a swig before you turn back to the Detective. “Your questions?” you ask.
Ruzek looks annoyed. “How about you walk us through your day. Start from last night, when you reported your car was stolen until now.”
You give him a grin and tilt your head to look at him. He was getting flustered, if his slightly red face was anything to go by. Sometimes, it was too easy to rile them up. “I don’t have to do that,” you state, watching the anger simmer under the surface. “You can read about it the report filed last night. I will tell you what I did today,” you smirk slightly, enjoying the torment you were putting the detective through.
You pause and take a pull off the Miller Lite bottle.
“So today?” Ruzek huffs.
Scott shifts behind you, but stays quiet. He knows you can handle yourself.
“I left here at 6 am. I took an Uber to my office downtown, had coffee with my business partner Harvey Specter,” you drawl and eye him steadily. The muscle in his jaw ticks as he grinds his molars. He looks up from his notepad and meets your gaze. “You’re from Chicago,” you state, changing the subject.
“Yes,” Ruzek’s eyes darken as he watches you.
“Worked in Intelligence with Hank Voigt, correct?”
Ruzek shifts and straightens. “Your point?”
“Oh, no point,” you smile. “I did my undergrad at Northwestern. I used to intern at the 21st.”
Ruzek eyes you warily.
“What brings a Chicago boy out here?” When he doesn’t answer, you continue. “Perhaps Voigt’s brand of Old Chicago Policing rubbed off on you,” you accuse. “Perhaps you gotta a little too comfortable and did something even Voigt couldn’t look away from?”
“Or maybe my fiancé’s family lives here, I transferred for her?”
“Maybe,” you nod. “And maybe that police brutality case sitting on my partner’s desk, goes away.”
There was a ripple in the room as every man went completely still.
The threat was loud and clear.
The smirk on your face never wavered. Your head was tilted slightly to the side, your arms were crossed casually over your chest.
You can see Ruzek thinking quickly behind those chocolate eyes. Finally, he straightens and closes his notepad. “So, you took and Uber to your office and had coffee with Harvey Specter,” Ruzek says.
You nod. “We went over notes and met with Captain Kincaid for breakfast. Afterwards, the three of us headed to the Court House. Where I spent the next six hours in court. We broke for lunch. Ate at the food cart in front of the courthouse. Where we ran into District Attorney Jessica Pearson. She’s my old mentor, it was great to see her and catch up. Then I was back in court again for another grueling six hours. But at the end of the day, I won my case and won my clients a glorious seven figure payout.”
Ruzek ground his molars again. “Came straight home?”
“Had dinner with my colleagues, Pier 31,” you name the fanciest steak joint downtown.
“And the car?” Kincaid asks, nodding out the still open front door to the Aston Martin sitting in the driveway.
“Harvey so graciously let me borrow it. He really is such a good friend. I dropped him off at home, and then headed here.”
Ruzek nodded once. “I think I’ve got it from here.”
When both Kincaid and Ruzek are out of the house and down the street, you let down your hair and pull the dress shirt out of your pencil skirt. You don’t even care that Bravo is watching your every move. “That was scary, even for you,” Jason chuckles.
You grin at him and shrug.
You can feel Clay’s eyes on you, burning into your skin as you unbutton your dress shirt to reveal the skintight tank beneath. You pull off the shirt and toss it on a chair, leaving your bare arms covered in beautiful ink on display.
You glance at Clay to see his blatant pursual of your body and ink and smirk. He doesn’t even notice. You look up at your brother.
Scott is not amused. “You laid it on kind thick there,” he points out.
You nod speculatively and shrug a shoulder before you take a long pull from your beer.
Scott reaches out and rubs his thumb over your cheek, grazing your black eye. Even though you’d caked on the make up that morning for court, he could still see it up close. “I wish you would have told me.” He sighs.
You shrug a shoulder. “It was nothing I couldn’t handle myself.”
He nods. “And the problem?” he asks.
“Eliminated,” you reply.
“Good girl,” Scott grins and pulls you into his arms.
“Girl is fuckin scarier than him,” Sonny grumbles.
You grin and glance at Clay. He’s still watching you of course, like you knew he would be, but there’s a hunger blazing in those baby blues that hadn’t been there before.
So, baby boy wants to play with fire? This could be fun.

Nine Songs: AURORA
Interview by Thomas Harvey for The Line of Best Fit (May 30th, 2019).
Ahead of the release of her third album, Norway’s greatest pop export talks Thomas Harvey through the songs that have shaped her life and sound.
From a bustling city to the stillness of the forest; one of the first things that AURORA says to me is that as much as she loves music, she rarely listens to it. Instead it’s the sounds, sights and smells of the world that truly influence the Norwegian singer/songwriter.
Aurora Aksnes grew up without a television or radio. It’s not been the study of listening that’s carried her craft as a songwriter, rather the experiences and feelings she’s discovered and observed. Consequently, when we meet in London to talk about the songs that have made an impact on her, she references the memories attached to each of them, rather than musical influences.
AURORA feels it’s important to take solace in the finer details of a piece of music, as well as the core of good song-writing. Many of her selections are from timeless, legendary artists, unsurprisingly for a writer whose productions can often be modernised on songs like ‘Queendom’, from 2018’s Infections Of A Different Kind - Step 1, the follow up to her debut All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend.
With the next chapter of the songwriters musical story arriving with A Different Kind Of Human - Step 2, AURORA explains how these nine songs have helped to shape her during the different periods of her life, from the feeling of kinship she felt with the audience at a Mastodon show at the age of eleven, to her honour in playing in the name of Leonard Cohen, to whom she paid tribute in a museum exhibition to his memory in Montreal
“Perfection is impossible” AURORA explains, an idea that’s an important reminder to herself when creating her music. Nonetheless, her relationship with music always stays with her as a friend.

“Rez” by Underworld
“I discovered this song and this band a year ago, quite randomly. I love going to rave parties alone and of course I don’t drink, because I don’t want to be vulnerable to an attack and get into any trouble. I don’t drink, but I stay safe and I just dance.
“I just really love to dance. It’s kind of like a workout for me, because I’m very energetic on stage. I was at a rave party in France on a boat and I heard this song and I had to ask someone ‘What song is this?’ and I found it later.
“Now I listen to it sometimes when I cook - everything techno is my cooking song. The last meal I was cooking and listening to it with was waffles I think. I have a new waffle maker and it can cook two waffles at a time.”
“Suzanne” by Leonard Cohen
“May he rest in peace, the lovely little angel. I love this song. Musically we only heard Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Enya when I was a child, there was nothing else as we didn’t have a radio. I love Enya as well, especially the way she just stays the same and doesn’t change her sound. She knows what she’s here to do and she does it.
"This was one of the songs that I really loved when I was unable to understand what he was saying, because I didn’t know English then, or at least I didn’t know these lyrics yet, because they were so complicated. I ended up learning my English mainly from online gaming or computer games like World Of Warcraft.
youtube
“A Seated Night” by Moby
“This song was on my computer, by a mistake I think, and on our family computer. We had a computer much later on - before computers were normal to have in every house - and we didn’t have a radio or MTV when I was growing up.
“I didn’t discover music when I was a kid and I still don’t really, because I don’t have many music platforms on my phone, but ‘A Seated Night’ was randomly downloaded through LimeWire onto our computer and it was the first song that I discovered through technology.
“I really love Moby, although I haven’t dived deep into him yet. I love the choir and I think that’s why I fell in love with this song, it’s just so nice. I love arranging myself into a choir and I’ve used a real choir for my music, a gay choir from Norway called Faggots. They’re really good, they just sing like real people and are really talented, more than I ever knew before I was working with them.
“They’re on “It Happened Quiet” and “Churchyard” and they’re also on my new record, where you can hear them quite promptly. They’re gorgeous. Ever since I heard this song, it had always been my dream to have a choir on my record.”
“Tomorrow Never Knows” by The Beatles
“This was the first song where I really enjoyed some of the production stuff in it. I really love different cultures and I’m really into this kind of vibe. I really liked it when I was a kid, I heard it when I was a sixteen-year-old kid, not like four, I was a bit older.
“I found all my music through CD’s, even though there were other platforms, I was just really slow. We didn’t have stuff at home like a TV or radio, so I discovered this through a CD because I really liked the cover and that’s why I bought it, an LP actually, so old-fashioned! It was the second LP I ever bought for myself.
“The cover was really nice, and I just really liked it. And of course I knew about The Beatles, I knew that they were a big name, and I should listen to them and see if I like them or not. I just really realised that you can play along with things, and that’s when I became a producer.”
youtube
“Born Slippy” by Underworld
“I was driving through Iceland listening to this song and it’s just really gorgeous. I think this is how people feel when they take drugs - they begin on this floating cloud and then it becomes a bit chaotic at the end.
“It sounds like they were on drugs when they made it, but it doesn’t make me sad when I think about it, there’s something with it, it’s positive without making me vomit, which I really enjoy. Sometimes happier music is hard to listen to, because you can question as to why you aren’t as happy as the people in the song, but I like this song.
“I discovered this song much later, after ‘Rez’. When I hear one song I don’t automatically go and find the whole album, I kind of stop and just have fun with that song for months - I get really patient with songs and I can listen to them for months. I saw that ‘Born Slippy’ was on the same album as ‘Rez’ and now of course I have the whole album and I have rave parties for myself, just me.
“I also love to listen to this song whilst I paint, when I paint something without meaning. I’m full of opposites or coherent contrasts, one day I like to be at rave parties and then I like to be in forests. I like to see what the world has to offer me.”
“American Beauty: Original Motion Picture Score” by Thomas Newman
“This is my alarm clock; I wake up to it every morning. It’s so brilliant because it begins with this... and then I listen to it when I read books on a loop and it’s enough for me. It’s all I need. I have like one song for every mood.
“I heard this way before I watched the movie American Beauty. It was many, many years ago and it was one of the first songs I had. I had an orange iPod which I got for Christmas and I only had this song on it for years. I still think if I went into that iPod now, this is the only song I would have on it. I haven’t had it for years though, and they were such nice colours.
“It’s good for walks in the forest, it’s like everything is still. Another is the Finding Nemo soundtrack which is also good for timeouts or when you go for walks. It’s really lovely.”
youtube
“The Hunter” by Mastodon
“I really love heavy metal. I’m very open, so I don’t really care about genres and often with heavy metal I just like it. I was a huge fan of many heavy metal bands when I was a kid, the first concert I went to was Gojira and then Mastodon and then Slayer. I was eleven and I really loved it.
“None of my friends liked the music and so I remember feeling at home at the shows, because I met people who understood it. It’s so angry without being hostile if you really listen to it, but it can sound hostile to people who don’t understand it.
“This is quite a calm song by Mastodon. It’s a childhood memory, but a song that allowed me to discover Mastodon with a more melodic song than most heavy metal bands I knew. I saw them play two times actually.
“I try and turn what I love about heavy metal into something that more people can understand, like in songs like “Under The Water” and “The Seed”, the single I just released, is more heavy. I like the weight.”
“The Partisan” by Leonard Cohen
“I did this song for an installation at a museum in Montreal, I covered it in one of the rooms in his memory and it was really an honour. It was all of his life and achievements as pieces of art in the museum, and they asked artists to showcase his art so that people could see those that he influenced.
“I really love this song. I know that he speaks of the Second World War and I think that’s not often spoken about, considering how much pain it brought the world. Also, in art and music we don’t really paint or sing much about it but it’s important that people talk about it, because it’s something we carry on our shoulders and we did it to each other as a species.
“I think about it a lot, but it’s good to distance ourselves from the memory too. I have a few songs about the matter, though some are more obvious than others.”
youtube
“Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap
“This is a really sad song for me. I listened to it in a sad stage of my life, I could have gotten through without it, but it encouraged self-pity and staying in the sorrow, and I think that’s not always a bad thing. Sometimes you can stay for a while on things and cry and move on a bit later. I never listen to this song anymore because it reminds me of a sad time, but it’s still an important song to me.
“I like Imogen Heap as a producer. I like the vocoder on this, even though I think she’s using a different machine than the standard vocoder; I don’t really like the way a vocoder makes double voices sound so thin. If it sounds like I’m using a vocoder then I have always made it myself, but it’s a good balance here with this song. It works. I think vocoders are an ugly thing, but the way it’s executing its mission in this song is good.
“A Different Kind Of Human” is out now via Decca.

in the year 2018 I would love for the rpc to collectively b(a/i)n their fave trash.
Blake Lively
Lively recently said that "Woody Allen is empowering to women," despite the fact that Woody Allen has been accused of molesting his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow. His son, Ronan Farrow, even wrote a piece in the Hollywood Reporter about how he believes Dylan, and that he's disappointed that stars continue to work with his father. She also defended Woody Allen when a joke was made at the Cannes Film Festival that insinuated he should be convicted for rape in the United States.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were married at the slave plantation Boone Hall, which is right outside of Charleston, South Carolina. It's a plantation where slave cabins are still standing.
Continually uses transphobic slurs. Although may have finally learned from it.
Kate Winslet
"Woody Allen is an incredible director," she continued. "So is Roman Polanski. I had an extraordinary working experience with both of those men, and that’s the truth." // The way Harvey Weinstein has treated these vulnerable, talented young women is NOT the way women should ever EVER deem to be acceptable or commonplace in ANY workplace.“I have no doubt that for these women this time has been, and continues to be extremely traumatic. I fully embrace and salute their profound courage, and I unequivocally support this level of very necessary exposure of someone who has behaved in reprehensible and disgusting ways. Notably after he was terminated from his studio and could no longer offer her roles.
Kate Winslet has spoken out about the ongoing conversation surrounding the pay gap in Hollywood, calling it “vulgar”. “I’m quite surprised by these conversations to be honest, simply because it seems quite a strange thing to be discussing out in the open like that. I am a very lucky woman and I’m quite happy with how things are ticking along.”
The British actress, has admitted that she often mocks people who become a slave to their diets often on bizarre fads. "I'm just like, 'Yeah, you're right, you look gigantic, you need to lay off those bits of boiled chicken you've been eating because have you seen your a**e?' And they're the size of a pin.
Kristen Stewart
Blames ‘bad acting’ on co-stars "I'm not the type of actor who can perform without wearing a mirror on my face. Everyone knows that you're better with other actors who are really present, who you are having the same experience with, but I am made or broken on it. If I'm working with someone who I'm not vibing with, or who I have to fake anything with, then it's sad for me and it's bad
Hypocritically victimised herself in response to her betrayal of another woman (tbf she was young and engaged in an affair with someone in a position of power over her- however this behaviour has allegedly been repeated multiple times with multiple partners)
“I was like, ‘What do you think? We don’t know any of these people involved. I can personalize situations, which would be very wrong.’ At the end of the day, Jesse and I talked about this. If we were persecuted for the amount of shit that’s been said about us that’s not true, our lives would be over,” Stewart says. “The experience of making the movie was so outside of that, it was fruitful for the two of us to go on with it.”Eisenberg says he doesn’t recall the conversation..’ on working with Woody Allen despite being aware of sexual abuse allegations
On gender equality, “Instead of sitting around and complaining about that, do something,” she said. “Go write something, go do something.”“And that’s easy to say,” she continued. “Like, f–k, it’s hard to get movies made. It’s a huge luxury. Who gets to just make movies? But that subject is just so prevalently everywhere right now, and it’s boring.”
Apologised after backlash for comparing being photographed by paparazzi to rape in Elle UK (Source unavailable). "The photos are so…I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped.".
Actress Kristen Stewart has lashed out at her former teachers, insisting they "failed" to support her while she was away from class on acting jobs.
I lit had to stop because I’m so fed up. I’ve especially seen Blake requested so often recently as an FC change and I’m DONE with it.
Here are further trashbags you can simply google and find the reasons why within about two seconds.
Ben Affleck / Casey Affleck sexual assault
Colin Firth supports Woody Allen
Dominic Sherwood Homophobia
Emma Stone Woody Allen, whitewashing
Gary Oldman Domestic Abuse
Henry Cavill/ Matthew Gray Gubler (consistently dating teenage girls still in school and easily influenced, despite being in their 30s. Henry Cavill allegedly asked girlfriend to leave school before dumping her. Sources can be found on ONTD somewhere.)
Ian Somerhalder There genuinely isn’t enough room
Jared Padalecki rape jokes, abusive behaviour, bigotry
Martin Freeman Racism, homophobia, classism, general asshole.
Matt Bomer this one takes some investigating but suffice to say potentially complicit or at least knowledgeable of Bryan Singer/Kevin Spacey predator parties
Matt Damon support & employment of known sexual predators, “You know, there’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?” he told Peter Travers of ABC. “Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn’t be conflated, right?” He added that society was in a “watershed moment” and said it was “wonderful that women are feeling empowered to tell their stories and it’s totally necessary”. But he said: “We live in this culture of outrage and injury, that we’re going to have to correct enough to kind of go, ‘Wait a minute. None of us came here perfect.’”
Milo Ventimiglia verbally and mentally abusive/ physically intimidating (witnessed) allegedly physically abusive to Alexis Bledel, girlfriend at the time. Dated teenager Hayden Panettiere when 29, was allegedly mentally abusive and controlling.
Misha Collins homophobia, bigotry, transphobia
Natalie Dormer Not her job to defend GOT, then defends GOT rape scenes, misogyny, belittles those affected by it. Starring role in a film trivialising and romanticising high suicide rates in Aokigahara Forest, Japan *complicit in whitewashing*. (alternatively does some very good work for children’s charities)
Scarlett Johansson Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, whitewashing
Tom Hardy Physical Abuse, Intimidation
#i know how problematic it is that the cited sources are for women#so i'm going to edit at some point#it is def intentional that they're your white faves tho

Once Upon a Time in...Ryan Murphy's 'Hollywood'
Blending fact and fiction, Ryan Murphy rewrites movie history with his glitzy and lavish limited series "Hollywood," coming to Netflix on May 1.
In some ways, "Hollywood" feels like the project Ryan Murphy has been working towards for most of his career. The glitzy seven-episode limited series, which hits Netflix on May 1, follows a group of newcomers to Tinsel Town and their collision with the industry's gatekeepers during the Golden Age of Hollywood.
But Murphy's "Hollywood, co-created with writer Ian Brenna, is anything but a simple history lesson about the trials and tribulations of what it was like to work within the studio system of yesteryear. The series functions like Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film "Once Upon a Time in...Hollywood," in which the director reimagines the historic year of 1969 through the eyes of a washed-up TV actor (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Brad Pitt). With "Hollywood," Murphy and his team rewrite film history and tell a fairytale of what a more accepting and understanding 1940s Hollywood could look like and how it could have brought an early change to the world — the kind of change that many of us are still working on seeing today. As Murphy called it on Instagram, "Hollywood" is a "revisionist fable." In other words, it's the past that liberals want.
For some time, Murphy has been focusing on highlighting diversity both in front of and behind the camera. THis FX drama "Pose" — about queer and trans voguers in New York City's ballroom scene during the 80s and 90s — broke a number of inclusion records and in 2017 (a year before that show aired), he launched his Half Initiative, which aims to "make Hollywood more inclusive by creating equal opportunities for women and minorities behind the camera," its website writes, adding, "Less than one year after launching Half, Ryan Murphy Television's director slate hired 60% women directors and 90% met its women & minority requirement." That sentiment seems to be the driving force behind "Hollywood" but at the same time, the show manages to have a lot of fun and be mostly entertaining in the way some of the best Murphy projects are.
Murphy — who helped shape the TV landscape with programs like "American Horror Story," "American Crime Story," "Glee" and "Pose" — left his home at Fox to work for Netflix in 2018. "Hollywood" marks his second project for the streamer (the first being the bumpy series "The Politician"). It's ultimately the kind of series Murphy should be developing even though it simultaneously spotlights the best and worst tendencies of the out producer/writer/director.
We first see "Hollywood" with World War II veteran and aspiring actor Jack Castello ("The Politician" star David Corenswet), a conventionally attractive midwestern white man who moves to the city with his pregnant wife Henrietta (Maude Apatow). It doesn't take long before Jack realizes that getting his foot into Hollywood — or Hollywoodland as it was called at the time — isn't as easy as he thought. After failing to get into the industry and going totally broke, he meets the charming Ernie (Dylan McDermott), who runs a gas station, and offers him a job to pump gas. Except...that's not the job at all. Jack soon realizes the station is actually a front for a prostitution ring (this is based on Scotty Bowers explosive book "Full Service") in which Ernie's handsome employees go home — or to hotels — with his clientele (which mostly consists of good-looking older women and good-looking younger men). But it's how Jack actually gets his break and meets a number of the main cast members of "Hollywood," including Avis Amberg (Patti LuPone), the wife of the head of a popular movie studio.
The rest of the season darts and bobs between younger characters like rising director Raymond Ainsley (Darren Criss) and his girlfriend Camille Washington (Laura Harrier), a black woman who is having difficulty getting parts that aren't roles for the help. There's also Archie Coleman (Jeremy Pope), an aspiring screenwriter who is black and gay and works with Jack at Ernie's gas station. There, Archie meets sweet and closeted actor Roy Scherer (Jake Picking), who would later be renamed Rock Hudson by his diabolical Harvey Weinstein-esque manager Henry Willson (played by an absolutely wild Jim Parsons in perhaps his best role ever), who did manage Hudson in real life along with a number of other beefy men, including Tab Hunter and Robert Wagner.
Once that group of starry-eyed newcomers gets together, they begin working on a groundbreaking movie with the help of Hollywood's old guard, like Avis as well as producers Ellen Kincaid (Holland Taylor) and Dick Samuels (Joe Mantello). They attempt to use their position and power to get the movie through a racist, homophobic and misogynistic studio system by convincing naysayers and company men, like Avis' husband, Ace Amberg (Rob Reiner), that the movie could change lives.
But the fun of "Hollywood" is the way in which Murphy and co- ("Pose" writer/director Janet Mock and "American Crime Story" writer Reilly Smith) use the Golden Age era as a sandbox. Henry Willson and Rock Hudson aren't the only real-life figures who pop up: Anna May Wong (Michelle Krusiec), one of the first Chinese-American actresses, has a small role, as does Hattie McDaniel (Queen Latifah), the first woman of color to win an Oscar for her role as "Mammy" in "Gone with the Wind." Her costar Vivien Leigh (Katie McGuiness) also shows up. "Hollywood" also has a lot of fun recreating iconic film history stories, including filmmaker George Cukor's infamous dinner parties where Hollywood's powerful and closeted gay men would get together and have various relationships with younger men, most of them looking for their break in the industry.
"Hollywood" is a Murphy project through-and-through and nothing is subtle. The highs are high and the lows are low. Because the show is on Netflix, Murphy is unfiltered and free from the constraints of cable TV: there's shocking nudity, swearing, as well as dynamic and heartfelt moments. It's no surprise the co-creator of "Glee" is behind "Hollywood" as the show often feels like a musical and that a character could break into song at any moment. Scenes are tense and fast; actors attempt the transatlantic accent and Murphy and his writers employ the quick and snappy way of talking from the era. When it's at its best, "Hollywood" gives off the same vibes as "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." But there's a lot of awkwardness as well. Some of the writing is jarring as a 2020 sense of awareness is injected into some of the dialogue, pulling you out of the moment. Some actors can sell it and others noticeably cannot.
"Hollywood" is polished and is ultimately an interesting endeavor even if it isn't always successful. (The show falls apart during its endgame.) It's Murphy's best project since "American Crime Story" where his lavish vision of a loving and more accepting past overcomes exploitation, racism, homophobia and corrupt power. And at this moment in time, that feels pretty good.

Ha I LOVE the idea of Dylan being turned out by Damon Jackson. When you're ready I'm sure we'd all love to hear the full theory or at least the set up of how this went down.
Lmao Damon was definitely a tiny gay awakening for dyl. What I would give to be a fly on the wall.
Yup! I have a theory where he’s the one that actually turned Dylan out, but Hoechlin got his heart.-More Please!
Okay, I’m working on writing some sterek smut at the moment so this is gonna be quick and dirty, but basically I think Dylan showed up on set and met Hoechs, found out they’d be living together and sure, Hoechs had given him the eye, but nothing really conclusive.
And he gets Hollywood, but he’s still fairly young, so he’s thinking maybe Hoechs is just being lowkey because he definitely gets the vibe and definitely gets trying to craft an image, but he also knows what it’s like to have an itch you can’t quite scratch and damn is Hoechs isn’t like falling into a patch of poisoned oak.
So he tries little thing, steals Hoechs’ wine so Hoechs can see him drunk and loose, maybe he can Superbad him into a none questionable kiss, but that goes out the window once Hoechs catches him humping a Christmas tree so he decides to regroup.
And the problem as he sees it is he still has these baby cheeks and this buzzcut and maybe Hoechs sees him as a little boy and not the manly sex machine he definitely wants Hoech’s dick to turn him into and then he realizes he’s never really touched another dick before. He kissed his friend before, just to see what it was like and they kind of rubbed off on each other’s thighs, but the friend wasn’t as into and Dylan felt he needed something more. And hell, if he was going to prove to Hoechs what a man he was, shouldn’t he at least touch another one’s dick.
And he’s wondering about this and how to do it discreetly and safely when Damon invites him to go out one night in ATL. They go to a hip hop club and dance and then Damon takes him to fruit alley and Dylan is cool and Damon is so happy that Dylan’s cool about it.
“Thought a straight boy like you might have a problem.”
“If I was straight then there might be a problem, good thing I’m not.” he says with an uncharacteristic wink. Dylan orders drinks and flashes his fake and a nipple making Damon laugh. The bartender barely notices either and returns with two Harvey Wallbangers.
“Heavy on the bangers”
“Yeah.”
