I got the mental image of Leopold as a dad in my mind and now I can't stop thinking about it. He would be such a good dad!!! Like, supportive, doting, playful, protective. Imagine him with a toddler who's just baby babbling away and he's listening with full attention and eye contact. Gahhh! I want to have his baby, he needs to be a dad.
a/n: hello you have now infected my brain with the Leopold as a dad worm and it will never leave me thank you and as my payment u now get a drabble. Also I’ve made the executive decision for him to be a girl dad and his daughter is named after his mother. Okay thank you
wc: ~650
Tumblr media
The best moment of Leopold’s life was the day he married you. Love deep in his heart as he said his vows. Promising to love you and no one else for the rest of his life. That you would be the one and only to capture his heart.
He meant every world and when he kissed you it was like everything fell into place. This is where he was meant to be.
The second best moment of his life was every single day with his daughter.
They’re all tied for second. Being a father was always something he wanted but to truly become a father. It was amazing.
“Dada!” He looks up from the morning paper to see his little girl waddling towards him.
“Oh my don’t you look gorgeous.” He smiles from ear to ear as he holds out his arms and picks her up.
Lifting her up in the air just to hear her giggles. She had a costume dress on and a little tiara. She was his princess so it was only fit she dressed like one.
“This princess refused to put on anything else.” You huff as walk down the hall. Leopold walks over to you and kisses your cheek. Then he kisses his daughter’s cheek.
“Is that true miss Adeline?” Leopold asks in mock surprise.
“I’m a princess!” She giggles and Leopold can’t help but agree.
“Are you going to be okay today?” You had gotten called into work for an emergency leaving your family plans for another day. You felt horrible but Leo assured you everything was alright.
“Of course my love, don’t fret I’ll handle everything.” You kiss him once more before heading out for the day.
“Now, what does the princess demand for breakfast?”
He can’t remember the last time he got this much quality time with Adeline. He swears up and down that just yesterday she was still a baby. The memories flash in his mind as she munches on her apple slices.
Holding her in his arms. Feeling his heart break at the sound of her cries. Wanting nothing more than to wrap her in his arms and protect her from everything he can.
Now she’s three years old and he savors every minute he can. Being sat on the couch as he listens intently to his daughters babbling. Smiling as she talks like she understands the whole world. He nods along and indulges whatever her imagination can create.
Soon she’s tired and the sounds of Cinderella play from the television. She stands on his feet as he dances around the living room. He hums the music as she laughs.
Leopold spins her around and picks her up. He remembers his first ball, learning to dance with his mother. Now he returns the favor. It may not be the 18th century but his daughter will be treated like royalty.
“M’tired daddy.” She yawns and rests her head against his chest.
So he takes her to her room. Letting her fall asleep in his arms, just like she used to. Sitting in the big chair by her bed, the same one he used to rock her in and read her bedtime stories. The one he’d sit in after she had woken up in the night and cried out for him.
He’d hold her tight and whisper that everything was okay. That he would never let anything hurt her. No monsters and nobody would hurt her.
“Well looks like you had a busy day.” He looks up to see you standing by the door.
A warm smile on your face as you take in the sight of your husband and baby girl. Leopold is everything you could have asked for as a husband and a father.
“Do you want to put her down and eat?” He shakes his head as Adeline stirs in his arms. Clutching his finger in her little hand.
“I think I wish to stay here a little longer.” You walk over sit on the arm of the chair.
Leaning your head onto Leopold’s head and slowly rake your fingers through Adelines hair. Leopold takes it all in.
So much time has passed in the blink of an eye that he wishes he could slow everything down and just live right here. He doesn’t know what the future may bring but he does know one thing.
He’s a lucky, lucky man.

Alright alright alright I hear ya I hear ya
So as most or the closest of y'all know I love apocalypse stuff
If that wasn't apparent by the earthquake rumbles, their memories or 3 mutants au I also enjoy the last of us and infection mlp aus a great deal.
Anyone who knows me knows my brain worms for infections are massive so I was working on a TMNT one
So I guess I'll spill how this is so far
DONATELLOOO
Status: uninfected
He caught the infection early on with his cameras hidden across the city, he questioned it but seeing how violent it was he called for his brothers to come back home, shortly after the only ones that had power in the city were the lair and the nearby hospitals feeding off his electricity
He is under high stress and is doing his best to work with Leo to find a cure
LEEEOOOOO
Status: uninfected
Leo was asleep at the lair when the outbreak started, he hadn't been sleeping well enough to go out on missions and especially being on top of buildings after Draxum threw him off one.
He quickly let Donnie know he was at the lair and helped get in touch with their brothers who were still out and about.
He works with Donnie on finding a cure and helps out at the hospital with April and her mom.
RAPH
Status: injured
Raph was out with Mikey when the infection started, or well when it got too bad. Being the kind heart he was both him and Mikey tried to get as many survivors as possible up to the rooftops and to police baracades.
Raph watched as Mikey struggled to escape when hordes got too much and became his shield, resulting in the two being caged in under a building
Status: missing for 2 weeks
MIKEY
Status: unknown
Mikey wanted to go see some new graffiti out in the city while on a mission with Raph, resulting in them being late to coming home and running into the hordes.
Mikey spent most of his rescuing going in and out of buildings, pulling people from their apartments as he heard their screams. He gave up his gear for kids and teens that were seperated from groups to help them get back but in result put him in more danger and he froze up, leading to Raph rushing in to save him and the two crashing into a building
Status: missing for two weeks

So, how does the Krang infection work in your writing 👀?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
INHALES SHARPLY
THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY PRESENTATION NOW SIT DOWN AND GET COMFY YOU ARE GONNA BE HERE FOR A WHILE
Okay so basically if you know the zombie infection lore of The Last Of Us then you’ve already got a good grasp of how the Krang infection works in JTOEL. BUT for those who don’t know; in TLOU the infection is fungus based, it’s specifically the Cordyceps fungus, which only takes over its hosts nervous system but leaves the brain intact. Which means the host is still fully aware of everything happening but has no control over their own body.
In JTOEL, the Krang is a parasite that attaches itself to its hosts brain, like a brain-worm parasite. But it doesn’t need to get to the brain first in order to start the infection. It can latch itself onto a host and work its way to the brain from the outside, which does leave it vulnerable to being torn or ripped off or hit with a pesticide, but it combats that by moving so quickly the host only has a few moments to even realize what’s happening. It also numbs the nerves it touches so the host has trouble moving to further limit any chance of fighting back.
This is just one of the ways it can infect, however. Because when a host is infected like this, it takes longer to turn them into a Krang. Because, oh yeah, this is how the Krang reproduce. (Note: This is now always how the Krang reproduced, but we’ll get to that later) The Krang aren’t plant or fungus based, they are in fact flesh-based creatures. They’re similar to octopi in that they’re stretchy and squishy, but they still have skeletons. Tho, said skeletons are armored.
We’re getting off track BUT the Krang primarily reproduce by mass-infecting whatever sentient/sapient organics they come in contact with and turning them into full Krang overtime. This is what they use when they first invade a planet, because it’s easier to get everybody under control this way and limit attempts at fighting back. These Krang aren’t as intelligent as the ones in charge of the hivemind/ones that can infect/reproduce, but they gain intelligence over time. At least, they gain enough to pilot suits and follow orders, but that’s about it. They’re more worker/fodder class.
Another way they reproduce is by wrapping their victims/hosts in a cocoon, like we saw with Raph and what I can assume we saw the beginning of with Donnie, Mikey and Leo. Raph’s conversion was interrupted, but that’s definitely what was happening. I have the feeling if the boys hadn’t gotten him out when they did or let him sit there for another thirty minutes, the process would’ve been fully complete and saving Raph would’ve been out of the question because that point the parasite would’ve completely overwritten who he was and his DNA.
However there is a third way they can infect. This one is used for the creatures still controlled by instincts and haven’t yet gained self-awareness as an entire species, likes dogs, cats, deer, mice, etc. The hounds we saw in the movie are prime examples of this kind of infection. This is also used as a way of starving out the population, because if you eat something infected by a Krang, you’ll be infected too.
Which brings me to Cyonardo.
Cyonardo is an example of the first type of infection, the “Rush” infection as I like to call it. Bc the Rush infection is, well, rushed, it takes the parasite longer to fully turn its host and because it doesn’t have access to the necessary proteins and materials a Cocooned infection would, the Krang it becomes isn’t as intelligent as its Cocooned brethren.
Cyonardo is one of the Rushed Krang, or at least one of the ‘recovered’ ones. By the time his brothers had managed to subdue him long enough to perform surgery (because surprise surprise, he was too far gone to bring him back the other way) he was mostly Krang, hence why they removed his leg, arm and eye. The eye was more collateral during surgery, bc that was how the parasite had gotten to his brain and they had to remove the eye to remove the worst part of the infection. They know they didn’t get ALL of it, but they got the part that would’ve kept overwriting his DNA and his sense of self and reporting back to the hivemind.
So yes, if you’re wondering, this means Cyonardo was completely conscious for everything that happened during his time as an infected. (Bringing him back also had the added bonus of learning how the Krang worked military wise.) Also, the Krang liked deploying him on the field any time his brothers or the resistance were sighted, bc they’re evil like that. This was also how the resistance managed to make a plan to capture him, haha.
Sorry I am all over the place while explaining this but in my defense I have So Many Thoughts and the ADHD makes organizing this hard so bear with me
The Krang parasite and the Cordyceps fungus are very similar in how they infect their hosts; growing in the brain and altering their physiology and taking over the nervous system. But that’s about where it stops. I might start repeating myself but just beat with me
See, the Krang parasite wasn’t always this kind of parasite. It used to be that it was a symbiotic relationship, where both the host and the parasite benefited from the relationship. That was back when the Utrom were still around, and before Krang altered the parasite to benefit himself and his goals.
When it was simply the Utrom finding and helping hosts in other species, like weak or sick members that couldn’t move on their own and moving their bodies for them while communicating with the host to know what they wanted to do, while also giving them better defense mechanisms, the Utrom were all over the universe and were a widely loved and accepted race.
And then Krang altered the chemicals and biology of the how the parasite worked, and suddenly everything went to hell. The Utrom had no idea what was going on, and were actively helping hosts remove the now dangerous parasites while trying to figure out just what went wrong. Unfortunately by this point, there were too many parasites to really stop it. So they kind of effectively got wiped out, because the Utrom WERE the parasites, they were just having their own young grow up with another species member to help keep both strong so the baby Utrom could eventually detach and become a full fledged member of society.
But Krang had seen it as an opportunity, he thought the Utrom had wasted their true potential like this. The terrifying part was that it society effectively collapsed overnight. Krang was smart, he was intelligent and he was a scientist. He knew what he was doing, and he executed his plan overnight.
There was no stopping him. This, this is why he views himself as a ‘gift’.
Tho, I will say that when the Krang got locked away for a 1000 years, the rest of the universal society rebuilt itself stronger than ever. When word the Krang had escaped reached them, they went to help Earth. The Utrom are unfortunately completely extinct by this point, the Krang biology was too evolved to change it back. (Though, there might be one still kicking 🤔)
So, TLDR; Krang Prime got greedy and completely changed his own species biology and evolutionary course to use as a bioweapon against the rest of the known universe, but then got locked away for a thousand years and the society he destroyed was like “Well that was crazy lol. Anyways”
Basically, the Krang are a bunch of parasites that shouldn’t and wouldn’t have existed if SOMEONE didn’t decide to play God. Lmao.
Any questions?

Karai (2012) Appreciation post
Tumblr media
Karai is one of the most iconic characters of TMNT 2012 due to her ambiguous morality and complexity. She´s one of the characters that changes the most in the story. Her personal motives often remain uncertain: even when she´s one of good guys, her methods to accomplish her goals are still questionable. She´s one character who is constanly walking in a thin line between ¨good¨ and ¨bad¨.
Karai made her debut in the first season in the episode ¨A new girl in the Town¨. Leo first met her after having an argument with Raph over his role as leader of the group. Karai took Leonardo by surprise, beating him easily to the ground but in the last moment she decided to leave, much to Leo´s surprise.
Tumblr media
This made Leonardo question himself if Karai was really as evil as she pretended to be, seeing that there was a chance for her to get redeemed. Later, in the same episode, Karai decided to help him with fighting Snakeweed by throwing a knife and left the scene, saying ¨Sayonara¨ (goodbye in japanese) to Leo.
Karai, as trained kunoichi, knows how to manipulate people into doing what she wants. As Splinter described: A Kunoichi is a master of deception and Karai is good at it.
She´s aware that Leo has feelings for her and often used this to her own advantage to gain information or make the turtles fall into a trap. In ¨Alien Agenda¨ she used this to steal Kraang tech and then left the brothers when a mutant started attacking them.
Tumblr media
In these episodes it was shown that Karai was Shredder´s daughter. Their relationship seemed to be very complicated, almost toxic to some extent, as Shredder seemed to threatened her many times with punishing her if she didn´t obey his commands. Karai seemed to be afraid of him but she would rebel against him from time to time.
The thing is that even in season 1, she frequently questioned Oroku Saki, like why didn´t he cared about the Kraang or about how they were planning to make an invasion in New York City. She´s was a rebel teenager, who enjoyed doing things her own way. She even once tried making a temporarily truce with the turtles to fight against a Kraang ship in ¨Enemy of my enemy¨.
Tumblr media
One of her main goals in season one and two was to get revenge on Splinter for ¨killing¨ her mother: The true was that when she was a baby, Oroku Saki took her away from Hamato Yoshi and killed Tang Shen,Karai´s mother in the process.
Karai was raised to think that her own father, Hamato Yoshi, was the one that killed Tang Shen and Oroku Saki was her actual real father. Since she was little, Shredder made her believe her purpose in life was to avenge her mother by destroying Splinter.
This started to change around season 2, when Leo kept telling that Shredder was just using her to hurt Splinter. Karai had it´s own doubts but she didn´t really changed her mind until she saw that Splinter still kept a photo of when he was still a human and Tang Shen was alive.
Tumblr media
By seeing the photo, Karai realized that Shredder had been manipulating her the entire time only to get revenge. The moment she learned the truth, she decided to help the turtles to fight against Tiger Claw, who was tracking them to find the lair.
After getting captured by Tiger Claw and held prisioner by Shedder, she still remain rebellious, trying to find any way she could to escape from her prision. Their relationship also changed drastically, Shedder became abusive to Karai, keeping her behind bars and not letting her see her real father.
In his own twisted way, he cared about Karai, but he didn´t see her as her own person with her own feelings and desires. For him, she existed to be an extension of him, she was a tool to carry out his plans for revenge.
In ¨Vengeance is Mine¨ the turtles helped her to escape from Shredder´s lair, Karai went to met Splinter. The first she did was giving him a hug, happy of finally be able to be with him.
Tumblr media
However, she wanted to end Saki for having manipulated her into believing that Splinter was her enemy. Splinter warned her that revenge was not the answer, but for the Kunoichi, her feelings of anger and hatred were too much to resist the urge of making Shedder pay.
In a tragic accident, Karai fell into mutangen and becames a mutant snake, her behaviour turned animalistic, hurting everyone she considered a threat. However, she appeared to still have some level of self-awareness, as she was able to recognize Leo, Mikey and Splinter in this state.
Tumblr media
In season 3 when the brothers were trying to hunt her down and use the retromutantgen on her, she shown to able to turn back into her human form momentarily and was capable of communicating with them despite losing herself to the mutation.
A few episodes later she was captured by Shredder and infected with a mind control worn, which made her follow his orders without question and hunt the main protagonists.
While she was mind controlled, Karai returned to her old evil ways. She was shown to be a cunning, intelligent and a very dangerous foe since she could change between her muntant and human form, easily defeating most of the Hamato Clan.
Once Splinter freed her from the mind control brain worm, Karai turned good back again, becoming a recurrent ally for the turtles in Season 4.
Tumblr media
In season 4, she goes on a trip to Japan to seek for her close friend,Shinigami, and recruit foot soldiers to rebuild the Foot clan. In Shredder´s absence, she became the new leader of the clan with the intention changing it and getting rid of Shredder´s empire.
While Karai is an ally this season, she still does very questionable things. She became obsessed with getting revenge on Oroku Saki, often putting others on danger (Broken Foot). After realizing that taking down Shedder factories wasn´t worth of her time, she decided to go after Shedder himself without involving her family anymore.
Tumblr media
In season 5, in ¨The Forgotten Swordsman¨ it was implied that she sent assassins to end her old master, Hattori Tatsu, to prevent him from reclaming the Kuro Kabuto. After having a fighting Tatsu, Karai felt terribly sorry for going after him since it only caused problems to her friends at the end.
From that moment forward, Karai focused on rebuilding the Foot Clan and helping the turtles with their missions. She´s determinated in restoring the Clan´s honor once again and fixing the errors of Shredder´s legacy.
In conclusion: Karai is one of the most complex characters in tmnt 2012. She starts as enemy who becomes an ally and a friend by the end of the series. She goes throught multiple changes, from learning the truth about her real father to growing into mature leader for Foot clan.

Note
Haven't seen rottmnt yet, so I'll ask for karai! :D
Nice! Thanks for the ask, I’m going to put everything under the cut.
Okay, lets start with the first Karai (that I know of)
2003 Karai!
Tumblr media
I thought that she was a really neat character in the first few seasons, staying with her honor, helping out the turtles and I even thought she’d break off from the Shredder. She had a very contradictory personality and it’s so neat to see her change from being the character with honor and respect to going ‘alright I’m gonna be Shredder now’. It was a crazy change, but it made a lot of sense. My memories of the last three seasons are fuzzy but I don’t think she appeared too much in the last two. Overall, cool character, never was a fan of the headband and badass.
7/10
Now let’s move on to the Karai I watched in third grade.
2012 Karai
Tumblr media
Sit down, this is gonna be long.
Um pretty, amazing, gorgeous, fierce, well thought out, did I mention I had a HUGE crush on her when I was like 10. That aside, I think she’s my favorite version of Karai! In the first season, the cliche of her being Shredder’s daughter was I think less for ‘shock value’ and was a clear decision. Once it’s revealed that Shedder nabbed her from Splinter and was really Miwa, that solidifies the decision. The way they unveiled this was done with planning and delicacy.
She’s rebellious, doesn’t care about good or evil as long as she has fun. But when it comes to the world potentially being destroyed or mutated or taken over, she realizes it’s seriousness and takes the turtles side on this, wanting to know more. They agree to a deal and when the turtles try to take out Shredder, she reveals that he’s her father. She’s not against the Shredder, she’s just noticing how trivial his revenge looks compared to the end of the world (like everyone EXCEPT the Shredder).
In the finale (I think??), Shredder has told Splinter that ‘haha bitch I took away something important from you, ya know, your daughter.’ It’s frustrating and sad to know this as an audience while Karai continues to push them away. Then we get to the whole episode of Karai finding out that Splinter is her real father. The picture of her mother and Splinter is shown, Karai connects it all together and that Splinter didn’t kill her father, the Shredder did.
She turns on the Shredder, but then tries to go back and avenge her mother and Splinter for everything Shredder has done to them and what he’s done to her. A reasonable reaction when you find out your ‘dad’ was manipulating you and tricking you into hunting down your real father. She gets captured and is used as bait to lure out Splinter and the turtles. And it works! A little too well, Karai gets mutated into A COOL ASS SNAKE WOW.
My memory gets fuzzy here but Karai saves Splinter when he looses his memory and is ‘dead’ the first time. The turtles find her and she says goodbye because the Shredder is hunting her and if she gets captured again, it’ll just cause more trouble for them.
And she was right. She gets captured and infected but a brain controlling worm. I don’t really care or remember this but this was another interesting decision the creators made.
When the Shredder gets defeated right at the end of the space arc, she decides to rebuild the foot and bring honor back to her clan. Now, you could say that the Hamato clan was were she really belonged, but she had trained, lived and became part of the foot clan. She’s seen everything in it and knows that it needs to be cleansed of the Shredder’s influence.
I really liked those episodes because she made an independent decision that was important to her and fit her character. It also led to emo Leo, Shinigami (another badass lady childhood crush) and some plot setup.
I’m not going to go over the rest of the seasons, so I’m gonna add some more notes.
Her design is so appealing with the color scheme, shapes and little nuances here and there. They never explained how she not only could turn back into a human but had two tiny snake heads where her hand were??? The implication of her and Leo being romantic partners was just plain gross and I’m glad they laid off of it after awhile.
Edit: Her voice actor was PERFECT, snarky, suave and an edge of intense, evil like-ness to her tone.
9/10!
Now, for the Karai I know the least about...
IDW Karai
Tumblr media
She’s pretty and rocking those bangs but I don’t like how the Shredder uses her. She’s also SO DAMN INTENSE CHILL OUT FOR A MINUTE GIRL. Kinda funny in a ‘haha she’ll kill me’ way, like Rosa from Brooklyn 99. I hope I’ll have a better analysis of her later when I catch up on the comic.
6/10
And the nonexistent...
Rise Karai
Karai hasn’t turned up or even been mentioned in Rise, and I don’t think she will, at least in normal context. The Shredder isn’t really a villain, so she won’t be the normal ‘Shredders daughter/second in command.’ I think that the Foot Recruit is a sort of substitute for her so far, but I’d love to see what she would be in this series since her main connection to the turtles is Shredder. So no rating for this.
Fun fact: Karai means Spicy in Japanese.
Story time: My half-brother/uncle grew up with the 80′s cartoon so when he asked me who I had a crush on and I said Karai, he had no clue who it was. I said ‘well she’s Shredders daughter’ and he was like ‘wait wait wait so like, did Kraang and Shredder go out and adopt a kid or something???’ and I can’t stop thinking about it.
If you have anything to add on, please reblog or comment about it!

I love your Neon Void fic! A friend only recently showed it to me and now I can't stop thinking about it! You're an amazing writer and I love all the twists and flashbacks and cliffhangers and all the sweet, painful angst squished all through it!❤️
TYSM!!!!! I love timing flashbacks at key moments, but I hope flip flopping between current action vs flashbacks isn’t too confusing ;w;
THANK U AGAIN FOR READING!!!! I’m so glad you like it!!!
