hey!! If itâs not too much to ask, could I request a kol x reader where the reader is a witch and a doppelgänger? Like somehow the reader and Elena are both doppelgängers, but after Klaus broke the curse the reader was able to live a fairly normal life in New Orleans, that is until Esther comes back. Maybe because of Klausâ presence in Nola the reader has allied with Marcel for protection, resulting in her befriending Davina and encountering the newly resurrected kol? Kol attacks her when he sees her because he thinks sheâs Elena, but when she overpowers him with her magic he realizes sheâs not Elena. They eventually become friends and start to develop feelings for each other maybe? I hope that isnât too specific. I really just would like something a little angsty and fluffy with witch! Kol. I really admire your work. Itâs very uplifting and comforting, especially, your kol content. Heâs my comfort character but Iâve exhausted the supply of fluffy kol fics đ
Thanks! Make sure to take care of yourself, love â¤ď¸
I'm glad you like my Kol. Time for some fluff for my baby boy.
Warnings- Fluff, Kol be simpin', A bit of angsty
You had been living in New Orleans for a year now to be away from Katherine and Elena as you were a different doppelganger and still carried the Petrova family name. You were a powerful witch and didn't care that Elena was like your long distance cousin because of the bloodline you shared.
Once you had heard Klaus was spotted in Mystic Falls, much to Elena's disappointment you got the hell out of dodge not wanting to be used by the Original as you knew your family's history with the Mikaelsons. Marcel had took you under his wing much like Davina as you help teach the younger witch to control her magic.
You were angry that your life had been fucked over because of Katherine but after Klaus broke his curse you were able to life a normal life in New Orleans that was until a pregnant wolf and Esther coming back.
"The Originals are in town be careful." Marcel told you knowing if Klaus knew of another doppelganger you would be in danger. But Elijah knew about you as he came to you about Davina and you managed to tell him she wasn't a threat.
"So your family has history with the Mikaelsons?"
"You could say that De."
You could feel Esther's magic as it was heavy in the air even more after Davina told you she brought back Kol. It happened in a blur you were held against a wall by your thoat.
"You killed me litt...." Kol was cut off holding his head as you looked down at Kol with a glare as your hand was in a fist.
"I am not Elena, vampire." You growled as Kol felt like his head was on fire as the pain was unbearable. Kol could see that you may have the same face as Elena, your hair was cut short and curled as you got tired of people mistaken you for Elena or Katherine.
"I see....that....now....you're a powerful....witch." Kol panted as you let him go and Kol couldn't help but stare at you. You were attractive and Kol cursed to hisself now seeing what his brother's saw in the Petrova women.
"And you are annoying Kol Mikaelson."
"Forgive me but I don't know your name."
"And you won't." You say walking away leaving Kol laying there as he got up before deciding to ask Elijah.
"You ran into Y/N Petrova?" Elijah questioned his younger brother putting down his book catching Klaus's attention. Kol had got to Elijah to see if he knew anything and was glad.
"Yes so she is a doppelganger?"
"Yes, it surprised Niklaus when Katherine threw her under the bus. Y/N is the last pure blood Petrova witch." Elijah says as Klaus smirking sitting down remembering when he found you on the third day of him being New Orleans. Unlike Katherine and Elena, you didn't fear Klaus as proven when you made his heart stop when he tried taking you from Marcel.
"She is a little feisty witch. Rebekah likes her better than Katherine and Elena which is saying something."
"Oh?" Kol said standing smirking as Elijah and Klaus knew that smirk this crazy boy was going to try to date you.
"Be care Kol. If Marcellus doesn't kill you then she will."
When you got a call from Klaus saying he needed a powerful witch to weaken the hybrids under mother's control you thought he would talk to Davina.
'I need a Petrova witch love.' Was what Klaus told you and you walked into the compound annoyed when Kol smirked following you up stairs.
"Any plans this weekend?"
"Non of your business." You said annoyed hoping that Kol would have lost interest in you by now but the wildest Mikaelson just fell harder with every name calling and magic sent his way.
"Maybe I could take you out."
"No." You told him glaring but it didn't stop Kol from trying to ask you out or buying you flowers and gifts.
"De! I AM IN LOVE WITH AN IDIOT!" You shouted one morning scaring Davina when you came into your shared apartment. You founded yourself falling for Kol which to you was an idiot and didn't know why. You spent the day ranting to Davina that you couldn't love Kol because he was a Mikaelson and you were a Petrova.
"Hello darling."
"What do you want idiot?" You asked working on a spell to help Elijah when Kol had came over and stepped up behind you. You looked up at Kol and your breathing hitched seeing how close he was and your eyes flickered to his lips.
"I was....hoping that...you would finally. " Kol muttered leaning in as your cheeks flushed moving in also and his lips were on yours. The kiss was explosive as sparks flew and you moan against his mouth kissing back.
"Does this mean you like me and we can see one another?" Kol asked sounding unsure his cheeks tinted red as you smiled softly for the first time since he met you.
"Yeah, you goof." You whispered as Kol brighen kissing you again and let out a whine when you pulled away.
"I need to finish this spell." You tell him letting the vampire cling to you watching you work.
It didn't take Marcel and the other Mikaelsons to notice that Kol and you were seeing one another a lot more. You had managed to mellow Kol out as he now turned all of his focus on you. But one thing you and he agreed on was not tell anyone that he proposed eight months into your relationship as you both didn't know how Klaus would react.
"Cute place."
"What do you want Katherine? I thought you didn't want to be anywhere near Nik?" You questioned walking in to your apartment seeing Katherine sitting in a chair drinking your good wine.
"You cut your hair."
"What do you want?" You asked glaring as your magic was stirring up as Katherine huffed before spotting the engagement ring on your hand.
"You're engaged?"
"Yes now Katherine what do you want?!"
"Fine....I need help and you are the only powerful witch I know. Elena had turned off her humanity and I know you have a spell to get her to turn it on."
"Since when did you care about Elena?" You questioned pulling out your grimoire as Katherine watched you huffing sipping her wine.
"The brothers are boring and all angsty over it. It is annoying but I hear you and Kol are a thing."
"That is non of your business." You tell her getting to work then dropped a small bottle in her hand.
"Have Elena drink that it'll compel her to turn it back on." You tell Katherine as she smirked thanking you before leaving and while she was at it sent a text to Klaus that you were engaged to Kol.
Klaus was angry when he learned of you and Kol ever more angry when learning that Kol was going move out of the city with you after your marriage. In Klaus's eyes you were taking what was his while both Rebekah and Elijah was happy for Kol.
"Go warn her. I'll hold Niklaus back." Elijah told Kol hearing Klaus growled throwing things. Kol was quick to head to your place which smiled brightly seeing him walking in.
"So what kind of cake....Kol are you okay?" You asked seeing how terrified your future husband looked. Kol cupped your face tearing up as if to commit your face to memory.
"Nik knows and is coming for you....you need to run and hopefully he'll calm down and we can marry."
"Kol.....I....don't want....to live...like Katherine had.....please don't." You whimpered as he kissed you gently and helped you pack. That night after using magic to hide your tracks, Kol went to blows with Klaus while Katherine suffered at the hand of Elijah when he learned the vampire was the one to ruin Kol's slice of happiness.
"Come on Elijah, the little witch could use so....." Katherine was cut off when Elijah slammed her against a wall hand warped around her thoat.
"If Y/N dies in the hands of Niklaus, I will not be merciful Katerina."
Four years you were on the run visiting Kol's favorite places which made you feel closer to the Original while learning new magic's getting stronger. You sat in your London flat watching the snow falling gently while unconsciously playing with your engagement ring while thinking about Kol.
"Darling can you let me in?" You heard Kol ask making you rush to the door tearing it open letting him. You jumped up into his arms kissing him deeply pulling a deep moan from Kol.
"You're here! Oh my god I missed you. Never again idiot." You said inbetween kisses as Kol smiled looking up at you with adoration.
"I missed you too darling. You did a better job at hiding than Katherine."
"Wait.! But Klaus?"
"It took three years but Elijah and Rebekah calmed him then I spent a year looking for you." Kol said kissing you again as he took you to your bed relearning one another's body.
"You kept it."
"Yeah....ask me again." You tell him taking the ring off as Kol slipped out of your bed getting on one knee.
"Please marry me? You gorgeous, beautiful woman that I would be honored to be her husband."
"Yes....a thousands times yes." You said tears falling as Kol smiled putting the ring back on your hand. Kol rushed up kissing you again as you both fell back into the bed.
"I love you, my beloved."
"I love you too, Kol." You whispered back as you both finally got to be happy.

islanders' occupations if they weren't what they are
this doesn't need to exist, but then again neither did fusebox in 2021 so... get into it. plus, not everything in this list makes sense but this is about a season that was launched two and a half years ago. nothing about it makes sense.
arjun. i want to see him in fashion, most specifically as a designer. i think he would have a cool career in it. and after love island he would be invited by british tv shows to be a judge and i would like to see that.
bobby. stand-up comedian. he would find out about his bisexuality so much faster. and hide it for so much longer, but still! and i would be absolutely sure he went to love island for fame!
carl. definitely an engineer. definitely building awesome robots or androids. pop off the nerd side carl, we see you, and we appreciate you no matter what!
chelsea. art teacher. absolutely working with younger kids because the little ones don't know the first thing about ADHD, so they would think she's hilarious! and i get this maternal thing about chelsea so... yeah.
elijah. i would like to see him is water sports. don't ask me why, i just do! water polo or those "oh my god, he swims so fast" kind of categories. i think he would love being a water athlete.
elisa. if we're stirring away from everything she does i would like to see her reading people for a living. either as a columnist or on a tv show, something! she's perfect for that and i know she would have the time of her life doing it! she gives us a preview when she roasts hope during the beach day, and i would like to see more.
gary. i know what you're thinking, mechanic. and you're probably right. technically he's already that, which is why i wanted to give him something different, like exotic dancer. listen, who are we kidding, he would be amazing at it... because daddy issues. who says a man cannot be an exotic dancer because of daddy issues? if you say they cannot, that's sexist. but like, yeah, probably a mechanic.
hannah. veterinarian. i just like picturing hannah with little rabbits and cats and dogs. she already presents herself as a real-life-snow white, might as well stir into the skid! i really think she would be good at that, and she looks like someone who's compassionate. that's what i want from my veterinarian.
henrik. kindergarten teacher. no one can deny how amazing he would be at a job like this! the guy has that... quality. he just seems like such a patient person with kids, and the type that wouldn't care about saying how amazing a fucking rainbow is for the millionth time. plus, imagine henrik taking care of a scraped knee. are you kidding? he would be so soft and sweet.
hope. economist. she might already know a lot about it since she's planning to open her own company. i just don't see her in the toy business, it's so weird! but i can definitely see her on the cover of a book where she talks about a 25-years plan to restore the economy.
ibrahim. i want to see him teaching gym class! he loves kids, he's good with them, he could easily be their favorite teacher. i wanna see him being nice to little toddlers that can't throw a ball right. the whole crap about persistence? that has "rahim" written all over it!
jakub. actor, with a similar career as arnold schwarzenegger. just don't elect him to anything and we'll be fine.
jo. party clown. no training needed.
kassam. model. he has the body and the dead look on his face. i just really think he could excel at this particular area because... he just has that quality. plus, we know he's into it a little bit. no straight guy that isn't into fashion is serving silver jacket, and glittery blazers on their wedding day!
lottie. graphic designer. great eye for aesthetic, she has the looks down, she designs her own tattoos, i love that for her! plus, a male dominated field? i live for that version of lottie in the villa, always talking about it in the show and giving girls the incentive to go for a similar path.
lucas. mechanic. i just wanna see him in a profession that doesn't have him clean, you know? something that truly defies his parents, 'cause like, sir, you're still a nerd if you think about it. what is physical therapy really doing for your bad boy fame with mommy and daddy? get dirty.
marisol. PSYCHOLOGIST. like, why are you still going to law school my dear?! do i think she would be good at it? probably. i wanna risk and say "with proper training, she could be good".
noah. literature professor. i said what i said before and i'll keep saying it, students would obviously be melting all over for him and i can see him in glasses and a beard just... pacing the classroom while admiring the cover of a book as he talks about it. from time to time there's a smile whenever he hits the part he loves the most.
priya. sex therapist. amazed by the fact it took her THIS LONG to find out about her own sexuality. and i would love to see some of the islanders getting uncomfortable by the sex talk but you could peep one or two just on the corner, taking notes, nodding.
rocco. yoga instructor. i mean, either that or that weird dude that claims he gives women orgasms without touching them. or even hacky sacky professional in some campus that people are confused about because he doesn't go there.
shannon. i would like to see her as a model. having the most amazing outfits and traveling the world. later on i could see her acid comments on shows like 'drag race' or 'glow up'. if anything i imagine shannon is shady like kim chi so that would be really cool to see.

Letâs do this!
Word count: 2k
WARNINGS: SMUT 18+ Choking, blood, mentions of death and torture, a happy ending.
((God how ridiculously cool is this moodboard))
Five months had passed since the Mystic Falls incident. In the weeks after, Elijah had helped Y/N cope with the hell of being kidnapped, hunted and subsequently murdered by her ex husband, then, helping her cope with the bonus stress of transitioning and then killing said ex husband. The relief she felt the night it all happened lasted only for that night, as it was followed by guilt and sorrow and rage, emotions she was all too familiar with but not on the level she felt it at as a vampire. Elijah was there for her every step of the way, never leaving her side. Around month two, she had begun to even out and come to terms with what had happened. At month three, she was able to return to work, now having her hunger under control and her emotions in check.
In her recovery, the summer heat had melted away, being replaced by the warm tones of autumn, which were short lived. December rolled around and the New Orleans Christmas decorations came alive. Y/N was glowing. Her walls had begun to fall away and she was showing new bits and pieces of herself every day. Elijah watched as she grew confident in ways that may have been considered small, but it made her so much more special to him. She cared about her job more than ever, her coworkers included. She had begun friendships with fellow nurses and worked harder than she ever had before. Sophie had seen her less and less as Y/N had learned to live and love her life, uninhibited.
She sat comfortably in her cozy apartment, for once bothering to make it feel like home rather than cold, and she actually wanted to spend time in her own space. There was no threat to her safety in her own home anymore. No denying herself the feeling of warmth and happiness. Her thoughts wandered to how she had changed as a vampire, and she dwelled on how she had spent her time as a human. She decided that she was ultimately the better version of herself this way. A knock on her front door startled her from her thoughts. She turned her head in the direction of the door and stood, wrapping her arms around herself as she opened the door. Elijah stood on the other side, looking at her expectantly. She stood aside and beckoned him in.
"Good evening, darling." He smiled, bending to kiss her cheek. She grinned at him and closed the door behind him. "Are you ready?" He asked, looking around the room. Y/Nâs grin switched to a grimace.
"Actually, I... thought maybe we could spend the weekend here. At my place." She said sheepishly. She had made the comment to him that she missed the snow every winter. She hadn't seen it in about seven years. He arranged a stay for them at a cottage in upstate New York for the weekend, an early Christmas gift to her. "Could we maybe do the cottage another weekend? I'm just finally enjoying my own home, for once." She looked around the space and smiled happily. She turned back to look at him for his reaction and found him grinning at her. "What?" She asked.
"Of course we can stay here. I adore seeing you this content. I'd do anything to keep you this way." He took a step toward her and wrapped his arms around her, planting a kiss atop her head as he hugged her. She closed her eyes and hummed merrily as she wrapped her arms around his torso. He pulled away slightly and lifted her chin to look up at him. "I'm quite proud of the progress you've made, Y/N." He praised. She blushed at him and tried to avert her eyes, but he kept her locked in his gaze. "You're truly remarkable." He whispered, leaning down to close the gap between them. He kissed her softly, his lips grazing hers. She closed her eyes in bliss. She let herself get carried away, deepening the kiss and nibbling at his bottom lip. He smiled and chuckled into the kiss. He gave her a quick squeeze before pulling away and turning to face the room.
"Elijah?" She grabbed ahold of him, her hands grasping onto the sleeve of his jacket. She tugged and fumbled but managed to pull him back to her, her hands reaching to cup his face. "I'm sorry, I just -," she kissed him again hastily, toying with the buttons on his suit jacket. "I'm still getting used to the whole -," her lips were on his again breathlessly, his hands traveling the curves of her body. "Vampire thing," she moved her kisses slowly over to his ear and nibbled on his lobe, lowering down to his neck while nipping and sucking at the skin. She tugged the suit jacket off of him, leaving him in his classic button down dress shirt. He groaned and closed his eyes, a small smile crossing his lips before he bit his lower one.
"Don't apologize, dear." He groaned, "We'll just have to get you accustomed to this lifestyle," he flipped the switch swiftly with his hands on her hips in dominance, pushing her backward into the door behind her. She gasped at the sudden change but welcomed it hungrily. He tugged at the bottom of her shirt and she lifted her arms. He threw the shirt away from them and lowered to his knees, kissing up and down her chest and abdomen, moving slowly down her body. His finger grazed along the top of the waistband on her leggings before he pulled them down and off of her, leaving her completely exposed. She panted and looked down at him. Nothing pleased her more than the sight of him in front of her, working his way down to where she wanted him most.
As if she weighed nothing, he scooped her up by the thighs and placed her legs on his shoulders. He got right to work, sliding his tongue between her folds, her hips twitching at the contact as a satisfied moan escaped her. Her eyes dragged closed as his tongue circled her clit expertly, drinking her in. He hummed as he took in her taste and she moaned at the vibrations sent up her spine. He swirled his tongue over her clit, coaxing her closer to the edge. Her hands found their way to his hair and tangled themselves in it, tugging as she felt a familiar pit in her stomach. His name left her lips in a hiss, "Elijah, I'm close," she whispered. He snaked his hand up to her soaked entrance and plunged a finger in, instantly getting it covered in slick. Her moans began to pick up, his finger working her quickly. She tugged on his hair harder, just on the brink of orgasm when it was pulled away from her and he stopped. Her eyes flew open and she whined, looking down at him as he pulled away. In a flash, he was standing now, one arm wrapped around her waist, the other working the button and zipper of his pants, hastily pulling them off. He used his weight to keep her pinned against the door, legs wide open for him.
Her hand found Elijah's cheek and she caressed it as she looked into his eyes. Hers were hazy and halfway closed as he thrust into her. He eyed her wrist that was mere inches from his mouth. He wanted her to feel the depth of emotion he held for her, and he could only think of one way to convey it to her. With one hand supporting her against the door, the other grabbed her wrist and brought it to his mouth, biting into her. Elijah didn't realize how badly he had wanted to taste her again until that moment, and he wondered how many different ways he could drink her in. He drank from her wrist as he thrust, her breathy moans mixed with the sound of skin on skin. Her eyes widened as she watched him with her wrist on his lips. She hooked her feet behind his waist as he pinned her against the door, his pace quickening still. The door behind them shook from his intensity.
His hips snapped up against hers relentlessly, fucking her in the way she'd been craving. He pulled his lips away from her wrist as it healed itself, his eyes dark and filled with lust. Hers too began to turn black, the veins underneath becoming more prominent. He placed his free hand on the door behind her to stabilize himself, his forearm just beside her face. She threw her head back and cried out his name before turning her head and grasping onto his arm, biting into him. He hissed as she did, pleasure coursing through him. She gasped as she drank, a new feeling of euphoria and closeness washing over her. She pulled away with his blood running over her lips as her orgasm rushed through her, screams of his name reverberating off the apartment walls. His hand moved off of the door behind her and onto her throat, squeezing as she came, her eyes rolling back in her head.
"Elijah..." she whispered hoarsely, his fingers still around her neck. "More," she whined. His eyes shone darkly and he released his grip on her throat, lowering her from the door. She grasped his arms and sped them across the apartment and into her room, pushing him down onto the mattress. He smiled and bared his teeth, eyebrows raised as she climbed atop him. She sank down onto his cock, taking him in entirely. She relished the look on his face as she did so, with his eyes partially closed and his mouth agape. A low moan escaped his lips as she began to bounce. His hands found her hips naturally, helping her keep balance and rhythm. She leaned her torso down, laying on top of him as she rode. She peppered kisses and bites along his chest and neck, drawing her name from his lips. She moved faster, sliding up and down on him with ease.
He growled and pulled her off of him, quickly flipping them around so her back was on the mattress. She squealed as he did so, but it turned into a moan as he plunged into her roughly, not giving her time to adjust. His hand reached for her throat and he squeezed, giving the perfect amount of pleasure. He wasn't going to go easy on her, he was seeking his own satisfaction now. He lifted one of her legs up his torso, resting her ankle on his shoulder and he fucked her senselessly, his pace maddening and sloppy. One hand gripped his forearm above her, the other gripped the sheets beneath her as another orgasm washed over her and he spilled into her. He moaned, his voice raspy as he let the built up tension leave his body. He looked down at Y/N and found her already grinning at him. He pulled out of her and got up to find a towel.
"May I ask why you're so chipper?" He asked her, moving onto the bathroom.
"Vampire sex is awesome," she said enthusiastically. He stared at her through the mirror in the bathroom blankly before breaking out into a laugh.
"Yes, darling. It is 'awesome'," he quoted back to her. Her grin faded into a smile as he walked out of the bathroom and to her side as she laid on the bed. He bent down to clean her up gently. After, he threw the towel into the dirty laundry basket and flopped onto the bed next to her. She looked at him adoringly as he laid his arm out in an invitation. She looked from him to his arm and, still smiling, climbed right up next to him. He smiled and kissed her forehead.
"I'm so proud of you." He whispered.
"I'll never be that me again." She countered confidently. "I can still be my own person even if I'm with you. I am my own fire."
He squeezed his arm around her gently. "I wouldn't have you any other way."

Our Black Hearts Part 2 (F!Reader x Jack "Whiskey" Daniels)
Summary: You decide it's time to come clean to Jack about the man he's after
W/C: 2k
Warnings: None for this chapter I think, but please tell me if I missed something
Spotify
Part 1
You loved working the towns garden. The feeling of warm dirt in your hands, the feeling of accomplishment watching something go from seedling to edible vegetable in the span of just a few weeks. Hell, sometimes you even relished in the ache in your back after a long day. It let you know you were alive.
It was while you planted a new crop of carrots that you rehearsed what you were going to say to Jack when you saw him next. Hello, I hope you donât kill me for not telling you as soon as I was sure, but I know who killed your wife, and I think I know where to find him, or at least how to find people who know where he would be. We good?
You frowned as you dug into the earth, unable to escape the guilt gnawing at your insides like a parasite. You know you shouldâve told him the first morning, when you woke up encased in his arms. But the way the pale pre-dawn light played on his skin distracted you. Then he woke up and he really distracted you. Then a week passed, and you still hadnât summoned up the courage to tell him, despite several more rendezvous with him. You knew it would be worse the longer you waited, a somehow larger betrayal.
Of course, you could just lie, tell him you werenât sure, but that wasnât in your nature. You hated to lie, and you were fucking terrible at it. You had been since childhood, unable to hide your secrets from the scrutinizing gaze of your mother. Now, every time you tried to lie, you remembered the sharp blow to the back of your head you would receive, and instead you chose to just avoid the truth.
Straightening your back, you turned your gaze toward the cloudless blue sky. It was nearing midday, the hottest and most dangerous hours to be outside would soon be upon you. Already people had sequestered themselves inside, the only ones who couldnât were those patrolling the perimeter of the town. Large sheets of rusted metal had been erected along the perimeter; the only protection afforded to those who protected the town. It had once struck you as deeply unfair, but now you knew it was necessary. Too many stories of towns being attacked at the suns highest point had reached your ears, chilled you to the bone.
âChase,â the use of your nickname snapped you out of your thoughts. You glanced behind you and saw Sparkie, the middle-aged man who oversaw the gardens waving to you. âCome inside before you get crispy.â
You obliged, abandoning your shovel in the dusty earth. It was only a couple degrees cooler inside the garden house but being in the shade made all the difference. The garden house was arguably the dirtiest building in the whole town, boot prints and stray tools littered the cracked tile floor, the entire thing smelt of fertilizer and no number of open windows could get rid of the stench. You sat yourself down on a plastic crate and turned your attention to the window.
In the distance you could see the perimeter wall of Deepwell, a single speck of a figure under the small metal sheet. No stupid hat, so it couldnât have been Jack. You had learnt that he was assigned as a guardsman for the town, replacing the guard who had been brutally gunned down in a raid a month before he had arrived. At the thought of that, the image of the dead guard flashed in your mind â shot so many times in the face no one could identify them until a headcount of surviving guards had been taken. Her name had been Lydia, you found out later, and you hadnât said more than three words to her.
~
A shrill whistle sounded in the distance, signalling it was safe to be in direct sunlight again. Jack stepped out from the small perimeter shelter and adjusted the grip on his rifle. He had learnt protocols during his first day of what was done directly after Midday. First, he had to make sure no one was trying to breach his appointed section of wall. Most days there was nothing, occasionally a pack of wild dogs or boar would be gathered drawn by the smell of living creatures. Once he had found a Skulker, barely clinging to life, sent crazy by sun and hunger and dehydration. Parts of her skin had melted away from time spent in the Toxic Plains, leaving shiny white bone. That had been an easy kill â a single bullet between the eyes before she had even realised he was there.
There was nothing today, only the ever-present patches dead earth and haze of heat on the horizon. Jack adjusted his dark glasses, traded a year back for a half blunt knife. They had become one of his most prized possessions, a saviour for his eyesight.
The next hour passed quietly on the outside of the wall. A single mutt had appeared briefly in the distance, Jack kept his gun trained on the creature until it had slinked away, disappearing over the horizon. He couldâve shot it, sent word to the fetchers about fresh meat, but the dog wasnât worth the bullet. Its ribs and pelvis had stuck out from its body, more skin and bones than anything edible.
Sweat was beading down the back of his neck and dampening his shirt when relief finally arrived. His replacement was a burly teenager, arms criss-crossed with scars from a childhood spent living in the lawless no-mans-lands. Jack tipped his hat and handed the shotgun to the kid.
âHappy watchinâ,â he said with an easy grin. The kid grunted in response, turning to face the vast nothing in front of them.
It was mid-afternoon, early enough for the water troughs to be devoid of most people and late enough that the water wouldnât be boiling hot anymore. The troughs were close to the well for which the town was named, though the well was just a hole in the ground fenced off by frayed rope. It was the towns only source of clean water, so deep underground it took almost five minutes for it to be pumped up.
The troughs were worked by just one woman, who Jack thought probably had the worst job in the whole town. Keeping the troughs filled and clean, making sure the stores were stocked with enough for the townspeople to clean themselves with. Not to mention having to wash the clothes of anyone who asked. Jack avoided asking for as long as he could, only going to her when the stench became too much for him to be able to deal with on his own.
Today, fortunately, his clothes werenât an issue. He stripped down, folding his clothes neatly before easing himself into one of the troughs. He dunked his head under the warm water, scrubbing at his scalp with his fingers. He didnât have the luxury of soap today, having worn through his last bar before he could find a suitable trade for a replacement. Jack didnât mind though â sometimes the water itself was enough to feel clean.
âJack,â Chase was standing at the foot of his trough, hands on her hips. Well this is a nice surprise Jack thought as he sat up, pushing his wet hair back. Her face was shiny with sweat and streaked with dirt that seemed to attach itself to any available bit of skin.
âHello, Doll.â He had taken to calling her that, preferring it to Chase. At least, he preferred it when he was trying to seduce her.
âI need to talk to you,â she said, and Jackâs blood ran instantly cold.
âYouâre not â you know?â He gestured to her stomach. Chase looked down, confused, before realization dawned on her face.
âItâs been a week, Jack, Maker help me! No. Didnât you learn anything about how babies are actually made when you were married?â Chase raised an incredulous brow at him. Jack shrugged. âI have a book on that, you should give it a read.â
Jack rubbed at his legs with a scrap piece of cloth, knowing he was not going to read that book. âSo, whatâd ya need, doll? Come to take another ride?â Chase rolled her eyes.
âNo. I need to talk to you-â Chase hesitated, looking conflicted. âLook, just donât hate me, please.â Jack sat forward, suddenly intrigued.
âWell, donât leave me hanginâ in suspense,â Jack said.
âI know who killed your wife. I can find him.â
Jackâs ears rang for a moment, he wasnât sure he heard correctly. âYou . . .â
âIâm sorry I didnât tell you sooner,â Chase crouched down next to the trough as she spoke, her eyes imploring him to understand. âI wasnât sure it was him; I thought he was dead! But â but itâs too much of a coincidence.â
âWho is he? How do you know?â Jack tried to keep the pain out of his voice. How long has she known, he wondered, and not told him?
Chase at least had the decency to look ashamed. âHeâs â his name is Elijah. Heâs missing an eye because ten years ago I stabbed him, thought I killed him too. I tried to kill him!â
âChase, who is he to you? Are you sure you can find him?â
âI can find him. I still have connections with his old crowd, someone there will know where he is.â Chase rubbed her face, somehow smearing on even more dirt. âIf I tell you who he is . . . just donât hold it against me, okay?â
âNo promises,â Jack said.
âHeâs my brother. Womb brother, actually.â
âYou tried to kill your brother?â Jack was too shocked to feel angry. He was an only child, but from what he knew, the bond between siblings was one of the strongest, especially those bonded in the womb.
âYouâve met him,â Chase shrugged helplessly, âheâs â look Iâm not gonna pretend that I deserve understanding for keeping this from you. But now I know heâs alive . . .â she trailed off, chewing on the inside of her cheek.
âTell me where to find him.â Jack said.
âNo, you need me.â Chase shook her head. âYou wonât get far without me, I promise you that.â
Jack scoffed at her. âDonât underestimate me.â
âIâm not, Iâm being realistic. You donât know Elijah like I do. Heâs paranoid, delusional, he thinks heâs a fucking god. You wonât get within ten feet of him without someone blowing your brains out. If youâre serious about this revenge thing, you need me.â
Jack pushed himself out of the trough and began to dry off quickly in the sun. Still naked, he turned to face Chase, arms crossed over his chest. âAnd just why are you so damn insistent on cominâ with me? You could tell me what you know, I could hire any number of mercs who could get the job done better than you, and you wouldnât have to get your hands dirty . . . well dirtier than they already are.â
Chase took a deep breath, evidently to calm herself down. âI need to make sure what I started is finished. Someone has to kill Elijah, and I wonât be able to sleep until I know heâs dead.â
The look on her face told Jack she was completely serious. He considered for a few moments, pulling his clothes back on. If everything she said was true, he would need her help, to find Elijah, to get close enough to kill him. But â
âIf you tried to kill him, how can you get close without you getting your head blown off?â Jack combed his fingers through his hair and secured it with his hat.
âHe doesnât know it was me. Itâs a long story but you just have to trust me.â
Jack considered the woman standing in front of him. Of course, he didnât trust her â it was stupid to trust anybody. But it was his only chance, he was beginning to realise, and sheâd have to come along whether he wanted it or not. Which given his current mood regarding her keeping this from him, he did not.
âAlright, get your shit ready. Iâm leaving at dusk.â

Coffee, Crushes and Complications 2
Okay, this was prompted a lot by the lovely @headfulloffantasy @nobodygtb2 and two anons! I hope I could do the demand justice!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Reed900 [Prequel]Â Â [Part1]Â Â [Part3]Â Â [Part4]
Tina sighed. She didnât even have to look up to know who was approaching her first thing the next morning. The RK900 stopped at a respectful distance to her desk and clasped his hands behind his back. He opened his mouth, but Tina interrupted before a single word left his lips. âYes, I think Gavin meant what he said to you yesterday. No, I donât think he wants to see you again. No, I donât know how you can win him over.â The android looked at her in confusion, closed his mouth and opened it again. âDonât try telling me you  donât have a crush on this manâ, Tina just warned. The RK900 sighed deeply and pulled over a chair from the neighbouring booth sitting down in front of her. âFirst off, I donât have a crush, I just admire his work and Reed seems like an extraordinary person-â âThatâs kind of a crush though.â âI donât-â RK900 stopped and grinded his teeth in frustration. âListen, I just want to apologize.â âYeah, because the last time you tried it worked perfectlyâ, Tina teased. âMaybe itâs because I approached him unexpectedly? Maybe if I could ask for a-â âA date?â âA meetingâ, he stressed. âSo we can properly talk about it.â
Tina kneaded her forehead. âListen, Rich, you are talking about Gavin Reed here. The guy canât stand talking properly about anything. And I thought you got his message last time: He doesnât want your apology. He is happy, he found his place in life. I donât think your apology will mean much to him. Especially when you have done nothing wrong.â She looked the android in the eyes. âDrop that damn apology. You did apologise and Gavin didnât care. Thatâs your part done. Except if what you want from him is more than just that.â The RK900 glared at her. âHey, all Iâm saying is you could ask him out like any normal person.â âI am only interested in having my apology heardâ, RK900 spat with a blue-tinted face, then he rolled the chair back and left Tina giggling. Yeah. Sure.
-
âDonât get too used to these snacksâ, Gavin laughed as his cat basically inhaled the slimy paste Elijah pressed out of the tube. âDaddy did get a raise, but I canât compete with Eli.â âOh, I donât think you will wither away to nothingâ, Eli laughed petting Bready with a smile. âYou get fatter every time I visit.â âHey, thatâs not trueâ, Gavin protested. âYou are a lady! Donât listen to him!â Eli put away the cat snacks and went back to Gavin on his couch where the cold beer was slowly warming up. âNow, tell me, with whom did you sleep to get this raise?â âWith your momâ, Gavin muttered back what had Eli nearly choking on his drink. âGod, Gavin, your mom jokes? Really?â âHey, with us itâs funny because I can actually say it without bashing myself.â âStill gross.â âMaybe.â
âSo you wonât tell me?â âUrgh, I will but itâs not that interesting. Just embarrassed some rich asshole on camera and made him spill all his shit as he tried to get back on track.â âDo I have to worry?â Gavin laughed and boxed his shoulder. âHey, not anymore. These days you stopped being a rich asshole. Now you are just rich. I mean come on, you basically presented the police the culprits on a silver plate. Not many people in your position would do this.â âItâs bad for business if someone would find outâ, Eli shrugged. âBetter to get these idiots out of the way now and use it to better our image.â Gavin looked over to his brother suspiciously. âAlso androids are people now and itâs against the law to try force them back to be slaves.â âSure, that one tooâ, Eli grinned. âSeems like you compete hard to regain the title of rich assholeâŚâ âNah, Iâm just getting on your nerves, brother, believe me. I love Chloe like a daughter, even if I wanted to, she wouldnât let me.â
They sat next to each other for a while and watched how Bready tried to hustle another snack from Elijah. âAnd, any plans for the future?â, Eli asked finally, lifting up his cat to pet her what she accepted begrudgingly playing for the long game. âFor the future? Hmm, not phcking up what I worked for I guess.â âI meant personally. Are you considering dating again?â âSays the man who decided that heâs fine alone.â âI amâ, Eli stressed, allowing no further discussion. âBut doesnât mean thatâs the life for you.â Gavin sighed and leaned his head back on the rest closing his eyes. âIâm not saying I didnât consider it. But Iâm a bit tired of it. I mean dates and getting to know people is fine, but⌠Most of the time itâs just an excuse for one-night stands and if I looked for that, I wouldnât have put in all that effort of trying to figure out whether we fit together or not, you know?â âMy little brother being romantic? Is the world ending?â âI mean, Iâm successful and happy, might as well⌠But nah, maybe I am romantic, but Iâm done having fun and playing around, I would like something constant in my life. Damn, maybe Iâm just getting old?â Eli laughed. âHey, itâs valid. I understand you. Maybe you could ask Tina, she seems to have a good nose for people.â âRightâ, Gavin resigned. ââHey, Tina, didnât you date a few guys in the beginning? Any of them still available?â Real good idea.â âJust trying to help.â âI know. Letâs talk about something else, okay?â
-
Elijah had stayed late and although he had helped, Gavin still was left trying to tidy up the kitchen in the evening. After he finally finished cleaning, he decided to check his phone and then head in for the night. It should turn out being a mistake:
>Hello Mr. Reed. >I am sorry for this unexpected message. I found your number by interfacing with Tinaâs phone because I donât know how to reach you any other way. >You have told me you donât want my pity. I understand that. But I hope you understand my situation as well. I still feel guilty. But I know another apology wonât be accepted by you. >Instead, maybe we could meet for a coffee? To talk about it and get to know each other? From what Iâve seen in your work you are a very interesting man. >Iâm sorry if this sounded weird. >Iâm new to texting. >Please let me know if that would be acceptable.
Gavin frowned. He had immediately connected the messages to belong to the other Connor, this⌠Richard? But why did this android bother him again after he basically â no, literally told him to phck off? He read the texts again and hovered over the keyboard. Should he ignore it? Text back? And in what way? He was tempted to just write where the android could stick his words, but it seemed to be a honest concern of the RK. Hell, maybe e should agree just to get rid of him? A part of him was interested in knowing who the new guy was that had replaced him. A part of him he never acknowledged, because he was over his last life, he was over and done with it. He had become better. He had grown. Maybe he should do the right thing and indulge the stupid android. He sighed and began typing.
Fine.< When and where?<
-
RK900 couldnât believe what he saw on the display of his phone. >Iâm here, where the fuck are you? Well, he couldnât believe the human had agreed to it in the first place. After how abrasive he had been when they had met in the coffee shop⌠but well, here they were and RK900 knew he just had to wait and see how it would go. I am sitting at the table in the corner. I see you.< Already got us coffee and something to eat I hope you like.< âDamn persistent bot you areâ, Gavin sighed as he went over to the table where the Connor-lookalike sat. âYou agreed to itâ, the android shrugged. âYeah, I guess I have. Truth to be told, I donât really know why. I was a bit tipsy, but thatâs no explanation.â
RK900 didnât know how to answer to that and just pushed the coffee and a slice of cake over to the human, who huffed with a smile. âAt least I do like what you decided to get. By the way, you donât have to pay for this shit, okay?â âYou didnât accept my apology. See it as indulging an androidâs bad conscience.â Gavin shrugged again and took the first fork of cake. âHey, not saying no to free food.â âGood to hear as I canât eat it.â âReally?â âYes. Everything liquid is⌠fine, although a bit of a mess later on.â âBut still you drink coffee?â âLike the taste.â Gavin smirked, but otherwise said nothing until he had downed half his cake.
âAlright, bot, what did you want to talk about?â, Gavin asked. âMy name is Richard.â âThatâs a shit name, Dick.â âPlease donât call me that.â âSure as hell wonât call you Richard. Thatâs a grandfatherâs name. Chose it yourself?â âNoâ, the android sighed. âBut itâs what most people called me after I said itâs a name I would consider.â Gavin huffed from his nose at that. âYeah that sucks.â âI mean I do like it in a way. But I still consider myself RK900.â âOkay, I get how people call you Richard now.â
âAnyways, what I really wanted to talk about was you.â âMe?â, Gavin asked. âReally, thatâs a bad decision.â âI am amazed of your work.â âOkay?â âAnd how you managed to solve some cases⌠I truly hope to one day be as good as you were.â Gavin looked the android in the eyes trying to figure out if this was a joke. It wasnât. Gavin cringed a bit as he answered: âWell, Iâm sure itâs just experience. Was in this job for seventeen years. You learn a thing or two.â âBut you proved remarkable talent from the very beginningâ, the android pointed out. âListen, you donât need to be nice to me. I was a real asshole. I was good at one thing and one thing only and that was my job. I sucked at everything else.â âIâm sure Tina would beg to differ.â âDiffering is her phcking hobby.â That actually made the android laugh. It sounded weird and mechanical. âOh, thatâs a good one, need to remember that.â
Gavin looked at the android who grinned wide and caught himself smiling too. Immediately he willed it away. This was supposed to be a one-time thing. Letting the android talk about what bothered him and then never see him again. But⌠When had he decided that? He thought about what his therapist had told him. Change your old behaviours if you want to change how people see you and better yourself, fake it if you must. Was this old Gavin speaking? Or new Gavin? Phck.
âShe really can be a pain in the assâ, Richard - RK900 â whatever â ripped him out of his thoughts. âBut she is a good friend.â âYou two are friends?â âYes. She honoured your promise by the way. She never talked about you. Thatâs actually what made me want to know you for a long time.â âFor a long time?â, Gavin asked, lifting one brow. âI mean, if you havenât been active very long I guess everything is a long time. But no, I read a lot about you when I started to work at the police, and I wanted to know the man behind the name.â
Gavin was a bit weirded out and some part of him wanted to shut this conversation down immediately. But he decided against it. Maybe this was worth a shot. âWell, then ask away. Iâm not that interesting but go ahead.â Apparently that had been the only sign the android had needed because the questions started to come down like rain: âWhat kind of music do you like?â âAre you a dog person?â âAny hobbies?â âHow did you find your new job?â âWhatâs the name of your cat?â Initially Gavin had thought to spend an hour max at this cafĂŠ with the android. But the hours flew past as he answered the androidâs questions and listened as he shared information on the different topics himself. And as they stood up and left the cafĂŠ with them both awkwardly standing on the street in front of it, Gavin realised he actually had enjoyed this day quite a lot. He looked up at the android, who rubbed his neck and⌠was that a blush? When they made eye-contact, RK900 spoke up, obviously self-conscious: âI⌠I really liked talking to you, Gav- Mr. Reed?â âGavin is fine. And I think I- No, I enjoyed it too. You are a nice person. You deserve the job you got, okay?â And if he hadnât been sure before, now that blue tint unmistakably was a blush.
âWould you-â âWould you like-â They looked at each other and burst into laughter. It was Gavin, who recovered first and nodded. âYeah. I would like. Next weekend? Same place same time?â âGladly.â

Just Friends (Johnny Depp x reader)
for anon
It was a year later when Johnny started to seem like himself again, he was laughing a little bit more day by day as you told him stories about your coworkers. He lived with you and your daughter as he healed from his relationship with Amber; the life was coming back into his brown eyes. Whenever you werenât at work or helping your daughter with homework, you spent your free time with him since that blonde devil banned him from seeing you once they were married. You were constantly photographed with him and he was usually smiling, which your mutual friends noticed; in fact, you were out with Doug one day grabbing lunch when he brought up your frequent outings with Johnny. âIâm just sayinâ Y/N, the two of you shouldâve gotten together after he and Vanessa split. Everyone knows that.âÂ
Johnnyâs fans knew you were and knew that the two of you have been best friends since childhood, and it made the news when he beat up your ex husband Elijah when he found out from Vanessa that he had been beating you. He and Vanessa helped you get back on your feet after your divorce, and you were there for Johnny after every breakup. âDoug, Johnny and I are best friends, only best friends, and now sheâs running around saying Johnny and I were having an affair? Fuck that bitch.â You were absolutely fuming, and if it werenât for your daughter you wouldnât be defending yourself on social media to set the record straight.
Yasmin is seventeen and just starting her modeling career and you didnât want people to think that the only reason how she got into the industry was because her mom had an affair with Johnny Depp and is best friends with Lily-Rose, and she has to go to school with her classmates whispering about it. Doug wrote in his article about how Amber made him cut communication with you once they were married, so it didnât make sense for her to say that. âSheâs gonna pay for this shit one day. Amber may have people believing her now, but one day sheâll expose herself for who she really is.â Your waiter returned with your food and you eagerly dug into your pasta. âGod, I hope so. I canât believe people would just automatically think Johnny is an abuser.â
You and Doug ate in comfortable silence for a while before he jumped back to his point. âEveryone was pretty surprised when you and Johnny didnât get together.â You slammed your fork down and just stared at him. âFor the last time Doug, Johnny and I are best friends, our daughters are best friends. And even if I did feel a certain way for him, I wonât do that to Vanessa and I wouldnât risk our friendship like that.â Doug raised his eyebrow at you as he cut into his steak.Â
âSounds like youâve put a lot into this, Y/N.â You could feel your face heat up in embarrassment as you sputtered around, trying to think of something witty to say. âShut up and eat your steak Doug,â you grumbled, and he only started laughing, which made your face get hotter and you downed your glass of lemonade. âSo you donât deny it.â âShut up Doug,â you muttered again.
After he dropped you off at home, you did some serial soul searching. You thought about the lack of dates and relationships youâve had in the last ten years, which youâd written off as being too busy for serious relationships because of your job and raising your daughter. You wanted a relationship, a meaningful relationship, and to be honest, you were a little touch starved so you bought a weighted blanket to sleep with at night, and when you did get into a relationship, you compared every guy to Johnny, like they were in competition with each other. You knew that Johnny was very loving in every relationship he was in, and it made you a little envious.
While you had a few good relationships, you were still finding it hard to trust, but you were working with your therapist to figure out why you were finding it hard to trust. You knew not every man was like Elijah but you were still on edge every time someone got too close, and even if you were to tell Johnny that you loved him (not that you love him in that way), who's to say heâd feel the same about you? Heâs still healing from Amber and he probably doesnât want a relationship right now when heâs trying to put his life together again. You wouldnât put him in that position. Johnny was only your best friend.
You loved Johnny, he was the greatest friend you ever had, you cherished your friendship, and you swore you wouldnât bring up the conversation you had with Doug to Johnny. Itâs better to not make things awkward.
a/n: i hope this was okay, i redid this like three different times and each time felt too wrong and went on too long

The First Miss Mystic Falls
Caroline Forbes had not been back to Mystic Falls in over a century. When she got wind of a living doppelgänger, Klaus sends her to check the credibility of their information. Seeing the doppelgänger for herself, Caroline creates a scheme to not only get a missing item back for the Original Family, but to ensure that Klaus and Elijah put aside a decades old feud, all in time for the sacrifice that would break Klaus's curse.
It just so happens that the doppelgänger is a contestant in the Miss Mystic Pageant and Caroline always did have a fondness for it.
She was the first Miss Mystic Falls, after all.
Follow up to - The Madness of Jonathan Gilbert
June 2020 Bingo- Prompt "Miss Mystic Falls" @klaroline-events
Mystic Falls 2010
Caroline sat in the black, nondescript Sedan. The tinted windows prevented her from being seen and people of Mystic Falls bypassed the car as though it was nothing out of the ordinary. Caroline ensured that it had a Virginiaâs license plate just to be thorough. She did not want to be noticed nor did she want to make a scene. For now, she was watching and checking on the information Anna re-laid to her and that was easier done if she had no one in her way.
It had been one hundred and forty-six years since she last step foot in this god forsaken town. It had changed over the century and a half; modernized as most of the world was. Gone where the carriages pulled by horses down a dirt road. Gone were the corsets and dresses and southern manners. Yet, the differences Caroline found that the town still remained the same in some ways before she was run out of it.
The founding families, one of them she had once belonged to, still held the counsel against vampires. The only downside is almost everyone on the council did not realize that the Salvatore brothers were vampires, except for one member, and Damon somehow found a way to gain a seat on it. She was surprised; Damon she knew was not exactly one for forward thinking. Then there was Stefan, falling all over the Katherine look-a-like once again; Damon sending longing looks her way as well.
Elena Gilbert. The whole reason she stepped foot in Mystic Falls again. Two weeks ago, Caroline was enjoying a nice blood infused bottle of wine on yacht in the Caribbean when she got the call. Klaus was trailing his tongue down her flat stomach and she almost didnât answer Annaâs call.
Almost; but she was glad she did.
Now she sat in a hot car staring at a more boring version of Katherine. At least Katherine had been interesting when Caroline had known her as a human. Granted they were not close, for the old vampire was too involved with Damon and Stefan to really get close to Caroline. Not that she cared; her relationship with Damon and Stefan was nothing more than polite smiles and maybe a dance at a formal event when they were human. Neither knew that Caroline had been turned mere weeks after they themselves left Mystic Falls.
Elena was sitting on a bench across the street talking to a young woman Caroline realized was Emilyâs descendent. Caroline made a note to stay away from that one. As far as Caroline can tell, Elena was not at all remarkable other than being a Gilbert; a family Caroline decided she hated; seeing that it was Jonathan Gilbert who smothered her with a pillow and ruined all of her and Klausâs plans for a smooth transition in New Orleans. Fucking Gilberts.
Caroline pulled out her smart phone and raised it in order to take a photo of Elena. She saved it to her phone and quickly typed out a message. She attached the photo and hit send. She did not have to wait long before her phone started to ring. Klausâs name flashed on the screen and Caroline smiled.
âHello Love.â Caroline purred into the phone. Her eyes were still on Elena who was laughing at something the witch said. âReceive any interesting pictures?â
âSo, it is true then? There is another doppelgänger?â Klausâs voice was smoldering, and Caroline knew him well enough that she could hear the excitement in his tone. Her smile grew wide, knowing that he was happy. He had all but lost hope on ever breaking his curse long before she met him. She knew it tore at him, having that part of him locked away and Caroline wanted nothing more than to set him free. âI didnât think it possible.â
âKatherine had to have had a child at some point. Probably before she was tossed out of Bulgaria.â
âClearly.â Klaus replied. âWell, I suppose I can drive up from New Orleans and be there by morning. The full moon isnât for another three weeks so there is no rush. Iâll have Greta and Maddox fly in as well.â Caroline bit her lip, a thought passing through her head. âWe will have to keep this quiet. The last thing we need is my brother getting wind of this.â Caroline said nothing and by the sigh on the other end of the line, Klaus knew that she had an ulterior plan. âSweetheart? What is it?â
âWhat if we asked him, for you know. Help.â Caroline stated and pushed forward before Klaus could reply. âI know things are rocky for the two of you and frankly, I love you, but it was all your doing. Yes. Elijah pushed your buttons, but you really did not need to tell him you dumped the coffins in the ocean. So, I get why he is mad at you.â
âCaroline-â
âPlease Klaus?â Caroline all but begged him. While the relationship between Caroline and Elijah had always been frosty since she was turned. However, he accepted that Klaus loved Caroline and therefore they were a package deal. Since the massive argument between Elijah and Klaus in 1933, neither brother had spoken to the other; no matter how hard Caroline pushed Klaus to reach out to his brother. âFor me.â
âFine.â
*
Two days later Caroline found herself walking down the street heading towards the Mystic Grill. Her heels echoed off the pavement. It was in the middle of the day and she knew that the doppelgänger would be attending classes at the high school, along with Stefan. Caroline scoffed at the idea of going to high school; no thank you. She saw no appeal in the concept, especially when there were finer things in life than mundane lessons from humans who had no real concept of what they spoke.
Caroline paused when she reached the entrance of the Grill; her eyes scanning the only decent establishment in town. Her eyes landed on a flyer that was pinned to a corkboard near the entrance. She pulled it down and smiled; adding a new layer to her plan. She folded the flyer and stuck it in her bag before looking around for her target.
Bingo. Sitting in a booth in the far corner all alone. Perfect.
Caroline strolled over at a leisurely pace, his back was towards her and he did not hear her coming. When she reached him, she placed her hand on his shoulder and quickly moved it down his arm; gracing his hand with her fingertips, removing his ring without notice.
âHello John.â John Gilbert startled and looked at her with wide eyes. He looked nothing like his ancestor and that pleased Caroline; the last thing she wanted was a Jonathan Gilbert look-a-like. He looked her over and she could see him visibly swallow. He knew who she was and that made her very happy. Caroline sat down across from him and tossed him her favorite Miss Mystic Fall smile; she was the first one after all. âWhere you expecting company? No? Perfect.â
âI didnât realize you had returned. I thought it was just the Salvatore boys.â John replied stiffly, not taking his eyes from her. She reached over and picked up a French fry, popping it into her mouth. âDoes Liz know youâre here?â
âMy cousin? No. She does not.â Caroline told him. She eyed him and she could see a series of plans calculating behind his eyes. âAnd she isnât going to know John. By your reaction, you know who I am affiliated with.â
âThe Original Family.â
âYes.â Caroline leaned forwarded, tossing him a predatory look. âWhen Klaus and I fled this town over a century ago, we were forced to leave something behind. Something valuable. Now, Iâve made it my business to study up on the founding families and I know that a certain ancestor of yours passed it down through your family.â John just looked at Caroline, unmoving and unblinking. âVery good, you know exactly to what I am referring.â
âIâm not giving it to you.â John told her and she was expecting that answer. Caroline planned for it and adjugated her plans accordingly. No good plans worked without leverage, so she ensured that she had multiple layers of leverage planned; forcing John to bend to her will. âI would be a fool to give it to you.â
âThen I suppose you will never see this again.â Caroline raised her hand to show John the ring that was no longer on his finger. He tried to reach across the table and take it from her, but she was faster; laughing at his failed attempt. âInteresting things, these rings. Making it so the person who wears it will come back to life if they die a supernatural death. I can understand why it would be very valuable to you. If you want it back, I suggest giving me what I want. And if this isnât enough of leverage, I understand that youâre rather close to that nephew of yours. I wonder how he tastes.â
âStay away from Jeremy.â
âDo we have a deal?â Caroline asked pleasantly and John glared at her as though he was contemplating her offer. He wasnât foolish enough to think she was bluffing; and she wasnât. If he was not willing to bed to her rules, Jeremy would be dead before the week was out.
âWhen?â
âKnew you would come around.â Caroline tossed him a wide smile and pulled out the flyer that she had plucked from the corkboard at the entrance out of her purse; sliding it over to him. âThe Miss Mystic Falls pageant. Did you know that I was the first ever Miss Mystic Falls? It would be poetic to have our exchange there, donât you think.â John didnât respond, his eyes glued to her purse, where she had casually tossed the ring into it. Knowing that her job was done, Caroline stood to leave; pausing just slightly to look at John. âOh, and if the council gets winds of this and they try and dispose of me. Just imagine the havoc Klaus will wreck if I do not return. Blood will flow and everyone in this godforsaken town will burn.â
Caroline did not have to look back to know that John believed her.
*
The Miss Mystic Falls pageant was scheduled for the end of the week and Caroline kept a low profile till then. She watched the Salvatore brothers continue to fawn over Elena and how everything seemed right as rain. She looked in on her distance cousin, Liz, who was the sheriff and noticed that she seemed none the wiser about her reappearance in town; for Caroline was the Forbesâs familyâs dirty little secret. John kept his word and Caroline was almost feeling charitable enough to give him a gift. She wouldnât kill him; or at least not permanently.
She bought a skintight, short green dress that enhanced her curves. The black lacey lingerie she wore underneath her dress was so scandalous, that she snapped a photo of her partly naked body and sent to Klaus; ensuring that he would be waiting for her when she returned from the pageant. She smiled. It had been over a week since she had been in his bed and it was far too long for either of them. That and if their eventual plans came to fruition, it would be important for him to come to Mystic Falls.
He would come.
Klaus was not a man who could turn down Caroline in lingerie.
Caroline pulled up to the Lockwood manner in a flashier car, a sleep black Maserati, compared to the Sedan she had been driving previously. She no longer cared about blending in or hiding the fact that she was in town. Soon enough, it will be irrelevant and the entire town; or at least in the supernatural âknowâ, will shake with Klausâs arrival.
As Caroline stepped out of the sports car, she saw Anna standing in front of the porch with her arms crossed and her head shaking. Caroline had run into Anna a few times over the last century. The two had an understanding. Klaus and Caroline let Anna do what she will in exchange for information. If Carolineâs plan worked and Klaus broke his curse, then Anna, nor her mother, would never have to fear anything at all.
âI thought you wanted to keep a low profile.â Anna asked, her dark eyes raising in question towards the car.
âThere is no point in hiding now. Klaus is coming.â Caroline told her and the two vampires strolled up the stairs of the Lockwood manner. The mayor was standing by the door, willing to greet any and all to the Miss Mystic Falls pageant. Gaining an invitation into the home was easy and Caroline rolled her eyes. For a town who knew about vampires, one would think that they would not be so cavalier with their invitations.
Caroline was ready to part from Anna, but the latter grabbed ahold of her wrist. Caroline narrowed her eyes at Anna. The other vampire was older and could easily kill Caroline if she wanted but she would not be so thoughtless. Anna knew that killing the blonde was an automatic death sentence for herself and her motherâŚ.and anyone else she cared for.
âOur deal?â
âStands.â Caroline flashed her a smile. âI promise you that if you and your mother stay out of our way, we will let you build this little idealic life you and your mother want.â Anna wasnât convinced. âIf Klaus disagrees with the deals I have made, then I have many ways of persuading him.â A movement from up the stair got her eye and she saw Damon Salvatore go into a room that she assumed belonged to the contestants. Caroline pulled out her phone and shot two separate text messages out. âI have to go.â
âCaroline! Wait, Elenaâs brother-â
Tuning out Annaâs plea, Caroline grabbed a champagne glass and walked up the marble stairwell. Not a single person stopped her, and it was too easy to follow Damon into the room. She listened closely enough to hear the conversation brewing between Damon and the latest doppelganger. Apparently, they thought Stefan was missing, probably off on a blood binge and that was something Caroline found interesting. A note to use later down the line. She missed Ripper Stefan. He was more fun as a murderous bloodaholic than he had been human; or this broody version she had been watching for days.
No longer willing to wait, Caroline pushed open the door to Elenaâs changing room and strolled right in. Elena jumped in surprise, her brown curled hair bouncing and bright brown eyes bulging. Damonâs jaw dropped in a comical manner, as though he could not process what and who he was seeing.
âDamon! How are you? It has been an age.â
âWhat?! How? What?â
Caroline ignored him and strolled over to Elena, taking in her appearance. It was one thing to see her from afar and through photos but to be up close and personal was another story. She did not just resemble Katherine; it was as though she was a carbon copy of her. No wonder Stefan and Damon were in love with her.
âThey said the doppelgangers were flawless copies of one another, but this is uncanny.â Caroline cocked her head, studying Elena who she could tell was becoming uncomfortable under her scrutiny. Caroline held out her hand, gripping Elenaâs in greeting. âCaroline Forbes. I grew up with Damon and Stefan.â
âYouâre a vampire?â
âObviously.â
âWho the hell would turn you?â Damonâs voice cut in and Caroline turned her head to him. The surprise was still written on his face. He was completely taken aback at her sudden appearance and Caroline would be lying if she said she didnât enjoy it. âYou were an annoying little twit as a human. If anyone would fail at being a vampire, it would be you.â
âOuch.â Caroline said in mock hurt, her hand messaging her chest over the place her heart was. âI will have you know that I excel at being a vampire. All those controling tendencies I had as a human were magnified. I mastered being a vampire within a week. Canât say that for either of you, now can I? Oh, where is Stefan?â
âHow are you a vampire?â Damon asked again. Caroline smirked at him, noticing that he was not willing to speak of his brother. Stefan was not important at the moment, but he could come in use later, especially if he was going off the rails.
âI died with vampire blood in my system. That is how vampires are made. Did you not know that?â Caroline tossed him a winning smile. Damon was growing frustrated and Caroline rolled her eyes. âShort version? After Stefan murdered his father...â Elena gapped at her in surprise. âHe bit his head off, right from his shoulders, literally. Quite the brut, your boyfriend is.â
âCaroline...â Damon warned her, his eyes full of concern for Elena who was processing the knowledge of news of the man she loved killing his own father. Elena sat down on the sofa, questions running through her mind.
âStill no fun I see.â Caroline drank a sip of her champagne. âThe town held the first Miss Mystic Falls pageant after the two of you fled town. I won, of course.â Caroline turned to Elena and did a small curtsy. âThe first Miss Mystic Falls at your service.â Caroline turned her head back to Damon, sensing the presences of someone new heading up the stairs. âThere were two men in attendance that were not from Mystic Falls. They claimed to be wealthy merchants from Louisiana interested in trading with the town. However, they were not merchantsâŚ. where you Elijah?â
Damon, Elena and Caroline turned their heads to see a tall man who was dressed impeccably. He had brown hair, dark eyes and wore a suit that cost more than everything the room combined. He was fixing his cufflinks and appearing bored. He stepped through the door, closing it behind him, his eyes bypassing Caroline and landing on Elena.
âNo. We were not.â Elijah moved to stand directly in front of Elena; eyeing her. âMy brother and I came to see if Katerina had really locked herself in tomb. Quickly we realized she had not. My brother took a fancy to Ms. Forbes.â
âWho is Katerina? And who are you?â Elena asked, in a small voice. Elijahâs eyes looked at her and Caroline could see a flicker of something behind them. Caroline bit back the urge to groan; especially since Damon noticed Elijahâs focus.
âYou know her as Katherine Peirce, but her real name was Katerina Petrova.â Elijah told Elena in a gentle tone. âIâm told that Mr. Salvatore is familiar with her?â
âUnfortunately.â Damon muttered and Caroline heard the distinct sounds of the words lying bitch reach her ears.
âAs charming as Katherine is, shall I continue? I do hate being interrupted. Elijahâs brother and I began having an affair. We had planned to marry and leave town before he turned me, but Jonathan Gilbert discovered that I was having sex with a vampire and smothered me in my sleep. I had vampire blood in my system and here we are. Official story is that I ran off and eloped. Truth is I was run out of town when my father, who was the sheriff at the time, learned I was a vampire.â Caroline drank from her glass again, watching as Elijah gaze at Elena who was becoming uncomfortable under his scrutiny. âShe looks like her. Doesnât she? What was the one you loved named? Tatia? Is it unnerving to see the face of the woman you love but it not be her at all?â
âDo not speak of things you do not understand Ms. Forbes.â
âA hundred and forty-six years with Klaus and I understand a great deal.â
âDo you have what you promised me?â
âNot yet; but it will be here soon.â Elijah turned to look at Caroline, as though to retort but a knock sounded at the door and the imagine of Carol Lockwood appeared. She was wearing a nice dress and her hair was done in a fashioned that gave off the aura of a wealthy wife.
âElena honey... oh, I did not realize you were not alone. You really should not have guest up here. The pageant is just about to start.â Carol told her, giving a false smile at the guest. âI think it would be best if you wait downstairs with the rest of the guests.â
âIâm sorry Mrs. Lockwood.â Caroline moved towards the older woman. âWe just wanted to come up and wish Elena good luck. We will be out of your hair.â With a flash, Caroline was upon Carol, tiling her neck to the side and savagely biting into her neck. Her hand was pressed against Carolâs mouth; preventing her from screaming. Elena screamed out and Damon moved to stop Caroline, but Elijah gripped the young man by the neck; stopping him from moving forward. When Caroline was done feeding, she let Carolâs body drop to the floor. Caroline turned back to the others and smiled. âDamon, put the body in the closet please.â
Elijah dropped Damon as Caroline made her way over to the vanity. She sat down and cleaned her lips in the mirror. Elena was staring at her and Caroline caught her eye. Caroline refused to break the gaze between them in their reflection as she cleaned her lips of Carolâs blood. Damon dragged the body and stuffed her into the closet.
âMust you make a mess everywhere you go?â Elijah asked, giving her an insufferable sigh. Caroline spun around on the stool and crossed her legs. âMy brother seems to have corrupted you even further.â
âThat is just your bitterness talking Elijah.â Caroline pulled out her phone and began typing; she pulled up a series of photos. She handed the phone over to Elijah and waited. Elijah scrolled through each of the photos, his eyes growing wider. âIf you look at the date on the newspaper, you will see that they were taken just this morning.â
âHe said-â
âThe two of you were fighting and you know how he likes to lash out. He would have said anything to get under your skin. I swear I have never seen brothers fight the way the two of you do and I grew up with them.â Caroline snapped, pointing at Damon; who looked as though he wanted to be affronted. However, Caroline did not allow him the chance. âDo you honestly think he would drop them in the ocean? That I would allow him to?â
âNiklaus does what he wants.â
âKlaus does what I want if he ever wants sex again.â Caroline snapped at him. She aimed to continue but stopped when she heard the creaking of the stairs. A knock sounded a few moments later and the door pushed open. John Gilbert stood in the doorway with a box in his hand, viewing every single person in the room. âRight on time John. Do you have what I want?â
âUncle John?â Elena muttered in a small tone, fear still etched on her face. John looked at her and then back to Caroline; knowing that she had Elena there for a reason. He took in the rest of the room and stiffened at the sight of Elijah.
âDo you have my ring?â John replied before looking at Elijah. âWho is your friend?â John asked, seizing Elijah up. There was a flicker of understanding in Johnâs eyes and a healthy dose of fear echoing in them. Sensing it made Caroline smile. She gazed at the box and stood from her seat, walking towards John in an almost seductive manner.
âDo you honestly think that I would not show up without back up?â Caroline taunted. âShow it to me.â John did not move, and Caroline rolled her eyes. She pulled at the chain around her neck, revealing the ring that was resting in her cleavage. She removed the chain from her neck and dangled it in front of him. âOne ring that will bring you back from the dead. Now open the box.â John did as he was told and opened the wooden box. Nestled inside was a silver dagger and a small bottle of white oak ash. âElijah. Is this it?â
âYou have seen the others. You know that answer Caroline.â
âVery well.â Caroline took the box from John and tossed the ring at him. If she wasnât so focused on the silver dagger, she might have laughed at seeing John scramble for it. âAlthough, I would be careful John, those rings are dangerous.â
âYouâre only saying that because my ancestor was the one who killed you.â John replied, feeling braver now that his ring was firmly back on his finger. Caroline turned to him and glared. She did not like being reminded of her death. The end result was the same, but it ruined her perfectly laid plans. Not only that, she wanted Klaus to be the one to take her life, not Jonathan Gilbertâs âMaybe Iâll have the same pleasure.â
âDoubtful.â Caroline reached out and stroked his cheek before gripping his chin and snapping his neck. Johnâs body fell to the ground and Caroline had to give Elena credit; she did not shriek this time. Instead she just jumped into Damonâs arms; who did not seem put off by it. It was not like Johnâs death would be permanent.
âYouâre a monster.â Elena hissed out through clenched teeth.
âOh honey, Iâm the queen of the monsters.â Caroline gave her a smile before turning back to Elijah. She handed the box to him and he took it easily. âItâs yours. We will never ask for it back nor will it be used again, unless you use it one someone else.â Elijah smirked at that and she is winning him over, she can see it. âWill you help us?â
âThe others?â
âIâll try and convince him to pull them out.â
âI thought you said Klaus did as you commanded.â
âMostly. I might have embellished a little bit.â Caroline smiled at him, fluttering her eyes; knowing that it would not work on him. She was never able to get what she wanted completely from him like she could from Klaus. âPretty please.â
âWhen is the full moon?â
âTwo weeks. Klaus will be arriving tonight. I sent him an incentive.â Caroline smiled. âI have a feeling Katherine will be in town soon. She is never one to ignore the chance at freedom. Klaus will be willing to consider it in exchange for the stone. Once we have that, everything will be in place.â
âVery well. I will come and speak with my brother in the morning. Iâm sure the two of you will be occupied tonight.â Elijah told her but sounded grave. He turned to both Damon and Elena. âIt was a pleasure making your acquaintance. Iâm sure we will be seeing each other soon. Caroline?â
âComing.â Elijah extended his elbow and Caroline happily looped through it. âElena, Iâm sure you will win the pageant. I do hope you enjoy wearing the crown. I most certainly did.â
âWait!â Damon called out, still baffled at the exchange and the two dead bodies in the room. Neither Caroline nor Elijah paid him any mind; choosing to ignore his outburst. âWho the fuck is Klaus!?â

Finding Home Gavin Reed x Reader
Chapter 26
Masterlist
âIf I didnât know any better Iâd say youâre going to kill me out here.â I laughed looking over at Gavin.Â
He rolled his eyes, but didnât respond. Gavin had picked me up from work for a surprise date and refused to give me any information about what we were doing or where we were going despite my protests. Gavin didnât seem like the romantic planner type, so I was excited to see what he had planned.Â
âWeâre thirty minutes from the city, so weâre probably close to a lake. Except itâs too late and cold to go swimming and I didnât bring my swimsuit. I am not skinny dipping in November. Are we going to a restaurant? Weâre in the middle of nowhere, so Iâm not sure why weâd go this far for food unless-âÂ
âNo, I made food.â Gavin interrupted me. I looked over to see him smirking. I hadnât seen any signs that gave any hint as to where weâre going either. He slowed the car down and pulled off of the country road into the grass. No other cars were around.Â
âYou made food? Gavin Reed?â I reached over and put my hand on his forehead, checking for a fever.Â
âYeah, yeah.â He pushed my hand off his forehead and got out of the car. Gavin started unlatching the jeepâs roof and the cold air flooded the vehicle, I shivered in my jacket. He was quick on both sides as I watched him work. Once he got the roof completely off he opened my door and held out his hand with a smile. I grabbed his hand and jumped out of the passenger side. He closed my door and opened the back seat.Â
âDid you drive all the way out here so we can fuck in the back of your car?â I joked as I moved to the other side and Gavin got in behind me. He pulled me in for a gentle kiss, surprising me.Â
âNot yet, but maybe later.â He smirked and I rolled my eyes. He reached over the back seat and handed me a cooler and a big fleece blanket. âI brought sandwiches, chips, soda, and a half bottle of Jameson. I also got some cupcakes from a bakery.âÂ
âCupcakes?â I tilted my head as he looked at me.Â
âFirst off, youâre hanging out with Connor and Nines too much, I get that head tilt enough at work. Second, do you know how sexy people look eating cupcakes?â He sat back down and maneuvered the blanket so it was covering both of us.Â
âGod, I canât tell if youâre more of a disaster bisexual or just touched starved.â I kissed his cheek and grabbed a sandwich from the cooler.
âWhy canât I be both?â He teased, pulling out his own sandwich and taking a big bite. He looked up and I followed his gaze.Â
âOh my god, weâre here to stargaze. You are a romantic!â I giggled, snuggling into him. He handed me the bottle of Jameson and I took a quick shot.Â
âYeah, yeah, eat your sandwich, pipsqueak.â We fell into a comfortable silence as we ate. I was surprised that he made sandwiches (low standards, I know) and planned this whole night.
I had a hard time wrapping my head around all thatâs changed for me in the short time Iâve been back in Detroit. I was so cautious about taking a job that would bring me back here. Outside of Tina and my dad, I didnât picture myself being very social. Except since being back dad and I were closer, I had a little brother, and I had Gavin.Â
My feelings for Gavin truly snuck up on me. It was clear he was really trying to be a better person for me and I was trying to be better for him. It didnât feel like a chore or a problem, it just felt natural with Gavin. I hadnât had a relationship feel this right...ever. Before coming here I figured after I wrote my book I would leave Detroit, but now I couldnât picture leaving at all. For the first time in a while, maybe in my whole life, things felt good all around. I felt happy and excited for the future. I looked over at Gavin to see that he was still looking up at the sky.Â
âWhen I was younger my class took a field trip to a planetarium. I liked science growing up, but itâs hard to live up to expectations when your half brother is taking college classes as a freshman in high school.â I nodded, noticing his jaw was clenched. Gavin didnât talk much about growing up and I never pressed him about it. I moved to lay my head on his chest and I found his hand under the blanket and put mine on top of his, rubbing small circles across his knuckles.
âJust astronomy or were there other science fields you liked?â I asked softly, listening to Gavinâs heartbeat.Â
âAstronomy when I was young, forensics in high school.â I hummed and closed my eyes. âDo you think if Elijah hadnât been my half brother I wouldâve had a better childhood?â If I hadnât been so close I wouldnât have heard him.Â
âWho knows, Gav? But if things had been different, who knows if weâd be here right now and I donât know about you, but Iâm pretty happy that Iâm with you. I mean, Gavin, I love you. You make me happy, I wouldnât change anything in my life if it meant I wouldnât have met you.â I whispered. I felt Gavinâs arm tense around me. For a moment I was worried I took it too far too quickly, but I meant it and didnât want to keep it to myself anymore. Weâve been together for give or take four months, but it felt longer. Even if he doesnât feel the same way. It didnât take long for him to relax next to me and somehow getting even closer to me.Â
âI love you too.â He responded as he kissed the top of my head. I sighed and looked up at him to meet his eyes. He had a big goofy grin on his face. âMan, your dad is going to hate this.âÂ
âOh stop, he doesnât mind you. Besides, we're adults who cares?â He nodded and laid his head on top of mine. âThis is a really great date, Gav. Best one so far.âÂ
âOf course it is, I planned it.â He murmured, Gavin shuffled and pulled out his phone. He put on some music and sat his phone on the center console.Â
âDo you work tomorrow morning?âÂ
âYeah, meeting Nines around 8. Want to spend the night?â I nodded and he let out a chuckle. âYou know, you spend more time either at my house or your dads than at your apartment. Why not move in after finals week?âÂ
âYou want to live together?â I pulled away and turned to look at him. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked to the other side.Â
âWe donât have to, I just thought it would be easier for you. I can drop you off at work and-â I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in for a long kiss, only pulling apart once my lungs were burning. I pressed my forehead to his and took a deep breath.Â
âGavin Reed, I would love to move in with you.â

JusticeâA Landry Oneshot
A oneshot of Landryâs thoughts as he prepares to send that fateful email to Mrs. Martinezâs family.
I donât care if sheâs supposed to be my friend. She canât get away with this. Not this time.
Earlier today, Bryce, Jackie, Sienna, Elijah, and I told Casey that Mrs. Martinez died, and she broke down crying. The others all tried to comfort her and feed her the âYou gave Mrs. Martinez enough time to live her dreamâ crap. Yeah, right; Iâm sure her family will find that super comforting. The rest of my roommates all flocked around Casey with hugs and words of comfort, but I just stood against the wall with my arms folded. Why should I bother to comfort Casey? She brought this all on herself. She killed a patient, for Godâs sake!
And yet somehow even being a patient murderer didnât stop Casey from becoming the number one intern. Such bullshit. Casey never deserved the number one ranking. That was supposed to be me. It absolutely blows my mind that this girl even made it past her first week. She was late on the very first day! But of course some lady had to collapse in the waiting room, and Casey was at the right place at the right time. And so it happened that she got to impress Dr. Ramsey by assisting him with a hemothorax patient, which by default meant that no one gave a crap that she was late. She got herself lauded as a hero with the power of her luck alone. I, on the other hand, get up at the ass crack of dawn to show up early every dayâevery single fucking dayâand no one gives me any credit for it.Â
Itâs totally unfair. Casey spends all her free time parading herself around with guys, namely Bryce and Rafael. She must have thought no one noticed that she hooked up with Bryce at our housewarming partyâI heard everything because I stayed up studying after all the guests leftâonly to flaunt Rafael right in Bryceâs face at dinner weeks later! Iâd like to think that Iâm not one to slut shame, but...well, you know. Youâd think getting drunk at every opportunity and sleeping around like she does would cause her performance to nosedive, but somehow sheâs number one. She even beat Aurora! I knew the competition would be rigged in favor of the chiefâs niece. That much was to be expected. But I never in a million years would have imagined that some frivolous, drama-loving girl would snag that elusive top spot by worming her way into the great Ethan Ramseyâs approval. Is she sleeping with him? There must be some reason why he picked her to come to Miami with him. I know there was more to it than just her being number one.Â
I should be number one. I never slack off. I study way harder than Casey or any of my roommates. Probably even more than any of the other interns. And I donât let girls get in the way of my progress as a doctor. Casey offered to be my wingwoman at the bar after our first day, but I said no. Sure, I was nervous about talking to the girl at the bar, but more than anything, I knew better than to trust another intern who was probably just trying to distract me so she could make a better first impression than me. And when she offered to get Dr. Ramsey to sign my book for me? Yes, Iâve had literal dreams about working with Dr. Ramsey, but I saw that as the perfect opportunity to make Casey look stupid in the hopes that Dr. Ramsey would laugh at her. She made the better first impression, even though she was late and I was early. So I had to level the playing field a little.Â
Unfortunately, he actually signed the book. I mean, it was cool, but still. My resentment for Casey started brewing deep inside me that very day. Why was it that she could get my idol to notice her, and I couldnât? It was so embarrassing that I had to enlist her help to get him to sign my book, even if it was all part of my scheme.Â
That was when my plan changed. I knew I had to get on Caseyâs good side and convince her to put in a good word for me to Dr. Ramsey. But she never did. She claimed the competition would ruin all our friendships, and was even against joining it at first, yet she couldnât even be bothered to teach Ramsey my name. Some âfriendâ, I say.Â
She didnât teach Ramsey my name, so the only option I had left was to tarnish hers. It was only fair. Thatâs why one day, when Casey wasnât looking, I turned off her pager. Ooh, the attendings must have been furious with her! And Iâll never forget the look on Caseyâs face when she started treating a patient only to discover that her chart was missing. At first this seemed to have the desired effect. Dr. Miraniâs face went beet red with anger, and he ripped Casey a new one right in front of her patient. I faked words of encouragement to her before standing back and savoring the panic in her eyes, all the while crumpling her chart into a tight ball and hiding it in my scrubs. But that plan didnât work either; even though some interns laughed, everyone still loved Casey. Everyone who mattered, anyway. If only Dr. Ramsey had seen Casey âloseâ her chart.Â
My next plan was to pull as many nurses as I could aside and tell them that Casey was trash talking them. All of them but Danny believed me, too. Even Jackie believed me when I said that Aurora must have been the one turning off Caseyâs pager and hiding her chart! We joked about how pathetic Aurora was, and I smirked to myself as Jackie walked away grumbling about Princess Nepotism, without even the slightest inkling that I was the real culprit. So far, sabotaging a friendâI mean rivalâwhoâs been getting all the recognition I deserve has worked pretty well for me. I guess sometimes life can be fair after all. You just have to make it fair.Â
From the beginning, Casey clearly had an undeserved advantage. But that was forgivable, because that could be dealt with. I could make her look bad in front of the attendings and get all the nurses to hate her. What couldnât be forgiven, however, was Mrs. Martinezâs death. Sheâs gone and she can never be brought back. Mrs. Martinez is dead, all because Casey stole an unapproved drug from a pharma recâa drug with a forty percent chance of deathâand administered it to Mrs. Martinez without the hospitalâs knowledge or permission. When Casey first told us of her plan, I couldnât believe my ears. I thought she was crazy. I told her resolutely that I would have no part in this. She and all my other roommates tried to make me feel bad for telling her that what she wanted to do was wrong, but I stood my ground. She still thought that it was some kind of two-sided argument, but I knew that I was doing the right thing, both legally and morally. But Casey did the wrong thing, and now the only way to even slightly remedy the situation would be to tell Mrs. Martinezâs family exactly how she died. They deserve to know the truth.
And I have the power to give that to them.
The day after I learned what Casey was planning, I paid a visit to Mrs. Martinez myself, during which I brought her some of Siennaâs homemade cookies and one of Elijahâs comic books (both happily gave me what I asked for when I told them I wanted to treat Mrs. Martinez) and asked her to tell me all about her family. Normally I would never waste my time on such unimportant details when there are symptoms to be treated and diagnoses to be made, but Mrs. Martinezâs case was totally different: in the likely event that Casey failed and Mrs. Martinez died, the only comfort Mrs. Martinezâs family could possibly have was to know how she died. And so I politely listened as Mrs. Martinez told me all about her son Luis. Where he lived, what his job was, how special he was to her. I donât remember a word of what she said to me, but I wrote down where he worked. Then when I got home, I stayed up all night during the longest break I had all week to track Luis down. After a harrowing search, I was just about ready to give up, when I finally found a page about the Luis Martinez on his companyâs website, with his contact information at the bottom. I wrote down his email address on a little pink sticky note, which I hid carefully away in a big green textbook.
Except thereâs only one problem: several minutes of digging around in my desk drawers has revealed that the big green textbook is not in any of them. I must have left it outside.Â
I lay an ear against my door and hear the sound of giggles on the other side. Crap. Everyone else is home now too.Â
I tiptoe into the main living room to find my roommates with their noses buried in their laptops. Sienna folds chocolate chips into a bowl of cookie dough while she reads. Elijah taps out the theme song of one of his favorite shows on the table. Jackie is so deeply engrossed in her own little world of focused studying that even God himself couldnât shake her out of it if He tried.
The only one not studying is Casey. She speaks in not-so-hushed whispers into her laptop, only stopping occasionally to let Rafael respond. Her feet are propped up on the table, dangerously close to knocking over her coffee. Next to her mug is my green textbook. Of course.
Sienna hears me and looks up. âHey, Landry!â she says cheerfully. Elijah stops
drumming on the table long enough to wave at me.Â
For the first time since I started formulating my plan, a strange emotion washes over me. Sadness, perhaps? This little scene of five happy roommates wonât last long after I contact Luis Martinez. The others may have been easy to fool, but Casey will surely figure out I was the one sabotaging her, and then sheâll get everyone to feel bad for her. This little roomie unit is about to meet an untimely, drama-filled death. And itâll all be because of me.
I thought Casey and I were friends. I really did. Even when I got her to sign the book to make her look stupid. As long as she made me look good, she was a friend in my book.Â
But she never did. And now sheâs going to lose her license and drag the rest of our roommates down with her.Â
But not me.Â
I wonât be dragged down.Â
There is absolutely zero reason why I should feel bad about sabotaging her.
âUh, Landry?â Casey asks, confused. I realize Iâm standing over her, one hand on top of the textbook.Â
âYou didnât read this, did you?â I blurt before I can think. They cannot know about that little pink sticky note.
âNoâŚâ Casey says slowly. She eyes me suspiciously. âWhatâs going on?â
Shit. My heart begins to race and my hands get clammy as I rack my brain for an excuse. âI just...realized I misdiagnosed a patient!â I lie, grabbing the textbook and scurrying back to my room, ignoring my roommatesâ perplexed whispers.
That was too close, I think to myself as I close the door behind me and clutch the textbook to my chest. I set it on my desk and flip to page 329, where the little pink sticky note is waiting for me, all but beckoning me to finally put the information it contains to good use.Â
This is it. Itâs time.
I snag the sticky note and flip open my fully charged laptop. I have at least ten unread emails, but they can wait. Ignoring the emails from work, I log into the fake anonymous account Iâve created just for this. Without a momentâs hesitation, I type Mr. Martinezâs address into the recipient box. Justice is about to be served.

â â â â & ጠ& ⍠bc ur a slut for music ; & ⎠(i want explanaTIONS ...gET META W THIS SHIT )
â â share some head-canons you have for a muse of your choosing, but x4.
[ elijah kane ] â â all efforts to get him into studying how to make robotics like hyacinth have resulted in a lot of miniature woodland creatures able to sprint across desks. itâs not exactly what anybody had in mind, but hey, you never know if ilya might not want to send in an actual animal for something he has going on. they can call up sugar kane industries ( big face-palm here ) to take care of the job. ( wyatt voice: seriously, you couldnât think of anything better than sugar kane. ) / hyacinth kane has a nice ring to it. elijah has tested out several different nicknames: sugar kane also for them, mistah k, ( missus k? ), cinthy ... cindy ... ( sean: yeah! cindy k! like cindy crawford! / who the fuck is cindy crawford? / wyatt â / how old are you. ) / heâs had a life-long dream to be able to go scuba-diving off the coast of â some exotic island he canât remember the name of. beforehand, it was one of those things that he was too afraid to do, but full-out war changes your perspective. in truth, heâs always been a water baby, growing up going swimming in the local rivers and running pellmell down the dirt lanes. he grew out of it, and then grew back into it. whether or not heâs going to be able to do that without monroe tagging along ( and then by default, ilya, and then probably hojin will want to come, and then ravi will have to, and then oliver will want to watch over them and then jinho will buy a whole yacht with his dumb vampire money â ) â ah, well, thereâs worse people to spend an extended holiday with. his father will come along too: sit on the deck in a lawn chair and drink a virgin margarita as he deserves after putting up with this whole extended family. and with his son being a you-know-what.
[ alice bedi ] â â there was a time where she was interested in wigs. she had percival sit down on her shackâs bed and watch as she perused through at least fifteen different styles of wigs. each one got a firm head-shake: too rough on your complexion; lilac looks good as a colour, but the style is horrid; why did they think it was a good idea to make a bob that length? a tough customer. she returned back to wearing veils, her preferred style being that of mantilla, or the veil thatâs worn to chapel over a jade comb. due to the volume and length of her natural curls, she rarely wears the combs at all, but will if itâs a particularly formal occasion, like that time she accompanied percival to a âhigh-society event.â ( translation: they crashed a party because he was bored, and she had a bad feeling about him going alone. ) / as the local librarianâs assistant, sheâs the first to get in the way when someone is overtly curious: why are you asking so many questions? hmm? the irony is that she herself asks just as many questions â she insists that the difference is: she reads the room and knows when itâs inappropriate to ask them. ( and if she knows itâs inappropriate to ask them, and instead chooses to risk asking them regardless, itâs because she knows itâll smooth out in the end. / despite what she wears daily, one of her most favourite colours is moss green. there are a multitude of reasons. moss is her favourite foliage. itâs similar to algae, another favourite foliage. and it reminds her of someone who she says is her sister; however, anybody who knows her, knows that she has no blood-siblings. one or the other might be a lie, or both might be the truth. when sheâs in a mood, sheâll smear the moss at the base of her neck like a perfume, a splotch of green beneath white.
[ huang shen ]Â â â he designed an irrigation system to work, specific to his farm, to be able to make rice paddies despite the surrounding environment. itâs a southern crop in the united states, but there was no way he was going to move to the south just to expand the business. his entire family was so relieved about it that they danced through the sprinklers and set off fireworks â and none of them are really into that kind of thing. itâs particularly incredible due to the area theyâre in, being very prone to sometimes too much drought and too much rain, and both are responsible for driving out selling numbers of crops. his plan is to switch into an agricultural degree, and perhaps even expand it into engineering, so that he can continue helping this way. / one of his surprises for algernon was learning sign language. for the longest time, months even, shen made it out like he had no idea what was being said, and let damien, as surly as ever, be the translator when algernon was unwilling or unable to speak. in the background, however, he was working with a tutor and seeking to understand better what it meant to be both HoH and mute. then, when algernonâs birthday came around, everyone went silent ( holy god he was so nervous ) and he gave an entire romantic, long speech entirely in sign language. heâs sure that some of it got lost in translation due to how hard his hands were shaking, but the way that algernon kissed him afterwards, it didnât seem to affect much. now, they communicate constantly on this even ground. / heâs started up horseback riding again â and has roped tobias into doing it alongside him. tobias might have grace on the stage floor, but certainly not on the back of a horse; he somehow ended up upside-down beneath the horseâs belly, and then fell down in a tangle of limbs. shen has taken to the western side of things, re-learning how to barrel race and rope cattle; but he and tobias have had to separate their lessons due to these antics. lucas isnât allowed to come to any of them; his stupid remarks send them into fits of laughing. ( bold of us to assume he doesnât just sit in the truck and shout anyways. )
[ deok bae ] â â due to the empire no longer supporting his upgrades, nor looking in his general direction, he has had to find other ways to obtain new modifications. this is including, but not limited to, going and pulling them out of other peopleâs bodies as catharsis â but usually, he defects to yuri and silas to fix him up. to his chagrin, the LED-light in his forehead has absolutely no use whatsoever, only displaying his brainâs processing as a symptom of installation. he pulled it out himself via the tip of a knifeâs blade. the next time that heâs seen by those who havenât seen him in quite some time, he might be unrecognisable. i am not deok bae â perhaps deok bae is no longer himself either. if there was no connection to eli in his head, he would forget that; perhaps he would merely succumb to the machinery, perhaps he would succumb to the wolf-dom. there are several pairs of teeth in his mouth awaiting for their moment to bite. / when he was a teen, his version of âsneaking outâ would be to wheel his chair to the gardens at the back of the temple, where he would sit and think for hours and hours. his father would come and find him there; sometimes, master jhcor would instead. his father would return him back to where he needed to be, but master jhcor would sit beside him and gaze serenely until bae felt the need to speak what was on his mind: his angers, his fevers, his rages. one time, he was surprised to see that it was not master jhcor, nor master deok, but zan coming to sit with him. his heart had sat in his throat the whole time, half-expecting zan to laugh at him or say something particularly piteous. instead, the conversation was â well, looking back, absurdly normal, all things considering. when bae blinked tiredly, zan rose and took the handles of his chair and took him back. he hadnât intended to ask him to do so, but it was done anyway. / bae drinks a lot of soda. itâs somewhat fitting, if you believe all that talk about how coca-cola can double as a cleaner due to the high carbonation and way itâs made. he does seem to get shiny after several cans â itâs also convenient that he canât experience sugar-highs nor malfunctions of the liver or stomach due to too much consumption. he considers himself to be a soda connoisseur as a result. he offers a lot of hmm, thatâll taste disgusting comments that annoy the shit out of the others â but then kisung takes a drink and bae ends up being right, so thereâs no regrets.
ጠâ favourite canon ships for your muse(s). are there any you dislike?
thereâs ... none that i dislike. thereâs moments of come on, but thatâs bound to happen. i think the favourite ships are the ... guardian / princess vibes ( whether itâs literal or not: akane / the samurai, quinn / sehrin, jian / elaine ). i also love the growing from previous immaturities towards each other ( grey / tobias, jihoon / wyatt, playboy / jordan ) â and himbos of course ( hojin / ravi!! ) thereâs also the whole ... tsh, vampiric aesthetic that we get ( minzhe / yongha ) ... the ones like jisoo / mingfei, cyrian / ulysses, cadoc / pestilence ( exploring violence against but without the stickiness ). of course, if i keep going, iâll end up listing all of them and then where would we be.
⍠â a small playlist for a muse of your choice
for nam jungsoo, because i actually once did make a playlist for him:
1. brand new â sic transit gloria ... glory fades 2. within temptation â what have you done 3. iamx feat. imogen heap â my secret friend 4. florence + the machine â shipwreck (the odyssey) 5. crown the empire â hologram
i mean, the songs are still kinda relevant considering his current character ...
⎠â top three favourite muses that youâve played
but is it possible to pick three favourites ... thatâs the real question. maybe. jianguo, because of catharsis, because of cultural exploration and similarities. grendel, because of the depth, the personal torment, the surrounding family. jinho & julius, because of exploring that darkness. and famine â man, now thatâs something. thereâs a lot more than three though. like blood and jisoo and tobias and arthur. but. the questions INSIST THAT I CHOOSE.

1 âItâs really not that complicatedâ for Elijah your security captain and whoever else you want :)
Ooo changing it up with Elijah! I like it!
-Spoilers for New Dawn!-
ââââ
Elijah barely left Prosperity anymore. After Rush was returned, Elijah barely moved from his side. He wasnât exactly a doting mother, but everyone else noticed. Where Rush went: usually Elijah was nearby. Everyone was cautiously hopeful and anxious to get development underway. The threat of the Highway men was pressing on everyone.
It was late at night and Rush was up planning in the dark still. Elijah watched him cautiously from across the room. Rush still favored his right leg and seemed to be staring blankly at the same place for the past few minutes. Elijah frowned. Rush sometimes put too much effort into projects and forgot about himself. He was probably over exhausted again.
âRush! We are running low on ammo and weapons. We need to either go get some more or make some trades.â One of the settlers came up to them.
Rush smiled tiredly and looked at the man reassuringly, âwe can look into getting-â
He was cut off by Carmina rushing into the room. Elijah stood up straight and wandered over towards Rushâs direction. He didnât get close, but hovered around.
âRush! We need your help. Some of the northern outposts are refusing our terms still.â Carmina looked worried.
âWhat! They still are refusing! How are we supposed to get those supplies now!â The man looked panicked.
âI hate to bring even more bad news, but the Highway men have captured two more of our outposts.â Kim walked in tiredly.
Rush rubbed his eyes tiredly, âok, one thing at at time. We can and will handle this.â
âRush! There just isnât enough of us right now. We are spread so thin!â Carmina said desperately. âWe have to do something!â
âHey, canât this wait til tomorrow? Heâs tired and still needs to rest.â Elijah growled lowly.
Eyes turned to him as he spoke for the first time. Elijah usually didnât speak a lot and was quiet. They seemed to be slightly afraid of him, but they trusted him enough since Rush spoke so highly of him. They also had seen him liberating outposts and bringing back many supplies in the meantime. Elijah just kept his distance from the people.
âIâm ok, Elijah.â Rush placated him slightly.
âYou need rest.â Elijah frowned.
âI know. I will, but you also canât just hang around me forever. These people need our help.â Rush said encouragingly.
Elijah relented and backed off, âIâll go out tomorrow and gather ammo and weapons if you go to sleep soon.â
âBut that doesnât address the trades!â The man said.
âBack off, your trades arenât more important that Rushâs recovery.â Elijah squarely looked at the man into the eye.
âWe are all struggling right now.â Carmina spoke up.
Elijah glared at her. Her eyes widened under his intense stare.
âHeâs right, Iâm sorry. We got carried away. There is nothing we can do tonight. We will talk about this tomorrow. Câmon, Carmina.â Kim pulled her daughter along.
âSorry.â The man also muttered and shuffled out after them.
Rush watched them go with a sigh, âyou canât just keep the world at arms length just because youâre scared, âLijah.â
Elijah made a face. Rushâs face quirked into the smile. Rush was his old friend and the only person still alive that knew about Elijahâs secret. He trusted Rush with his life and he promised himself to keep Rush safe. The overwhelming guilt of watching the entire train get destroyed weighed on him heavily. He was the security captain and he didnât do his job.
âElijah, the world is not your enemy.â Rush shook his finger and sat down in the chair with a wince. âThey arenât bad people. You should get to know them.â
Elijah rolled his eyes, a voice in his head agreed a little too loudly. A different voice whined in disagreement. He frowned, he didnât like what they were saying.
âWhat are they saying?â Rush said too knowingly.
Elijah scowled. The voices got louder and more demanding.
Rush opened his mouth to probably spew more bullshit about loving everyone but he was interrupted, âDamn it, donât you think I want to have friends and be normal? What the fuck am I supposed to say to them? Hello, I have multiple personality disorder and Iâm a freak. Like what?â
Elijah put his hands on his hips and huffed before crossing his arms instead. Rush tilted his head, âVanessa. You arenât a freak. People might not understand, but they can help.â
Vanessa desperately slicked her hair back and down, trying to tame the locks that Elijah had ignored all day. She liked to feel neat as possible considering how Elijah usually treated himself.
âYeah, whatever. People are bitches and they hate freaks like us.â She pouted. âI bet that little prissy Carmina would freak out if she ever knew.â
âHey! That is not very nice!â Rush scolded her. âCarmina is a very kind and open minded girl. Youâll be surprised.â
âWhatever. I wanna leave this place.â
Rush never thought he would have to co parent a teenage girl who lived in a full grown manâs body. Elijah said that Vanessa usually didnât mean what she said, but Rush didnât have enough experience with kids to know anything. He also knew it was useless to argue with her. It was best to talk to Alistair. Alistair was the one who actually agreed with Rush and wanted to open up more.
âVanessa. We have to help these people.â Rush said sternly.
âYeah, whatever.â She repeated flatly.
âCan I please talk to Alistair?â Rush sighed.
âHahaha yeah whatever. I always knew you liked him best. I didnât even want to talk to you. I just wanted to tell you to fuck off.â Vanessa rolled her eyes. âEnjoy your gay date.â
Rush rubbed his head tiredly, âItâs not a âgay dateâ. Why did you even have to specify gay?â
He knew that Vanessa was just trying to get on his nerves and to be honest it was working. He was too tired to be dealing with a moody teen right now, but he could almost hear both Elijah and Alistair reprimanding her inside their head.
âAwww Rush. You never told me you had a crush on me!â Alistair smiled.
âHahaha thank god, Alistair. Talking to your counterparts is like talking to brick walls. You guys have that in common.â Rush shook his head good naturedly.
âIâll try talking Elijah into being more social. I think itâs a good idea. Heâs just a stubborn bastard.â Alistair laughed.
âOh here, these are for you. I know you like putting your hair up.â Rush pulled a few hair elastics out of his pocket. âFound âem the other day and figured you would like them.â
Alistair flushed red. Rush was so kind. He really tried to get to know the other personalities. He knew that Alistair liked to wear his hair up in a small ponytail. He though they looked fashionable like that, but Elijah just liked the bare minimum of brushing it out. Usually it was lonely with just Elijah and Vanessa to speak to. He liked talking to people, but Elijah was so closed off and afraid of making friends.
âOh! Itâs so nice of you to think of me!â Alistair took the hair ties and pulled the hair back into a small low ponytail.
âYouâre welcome.â Rush nodded. âI think you look nice like that.â
Alistair smiled sadly, âthank you, Rush for even trying to get to know us. We know this is exactly uhhh normal, but youâve been nothing but welcoming and accommodating.â
âItâs not that complicated.â Rush stated. âYouâre a damn good security captain and more than that, youâre a good person... uh well... people. I donât know much about psychology or whatever, but I think youâre doing mighty fine for this post apocalyptic world.â
Alistair sniffled. Things have been rough without the mental help he knew they needed. Before the bombs Elijah felt well under control and rarely his alters managed to slip out, but now it almost seemed like a revolving door. It was disconcerting and tiring on his mind and body. He just wished he was whole.
âI also think youâre a pretty great man, Rush.â They smiled. âGoodnight.â

Word Count: 4,978
!!Warnings!!: Mention of sex before foreplay and whatnot at the end.
Chapter Name: My Pet
Brief Chapter Outline: Back to class, Tessa finds out that some of her classmates had attended the party Esther threw and some embarrassing videos. She is ready to knock some teeth out before it converts to murder when she hears two certain people together in a classroom after hours... Then it leads to her discovering something.Â
ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ- ââ-
Tessa knew she was screwed today. She would have to come to class and tell Cillian why she had not uploaded her assignment and she was so not looking forward to it. It was a fair chunk of her grade. She hoped the end of term assignment would boost her up, she was doing well in her other subjects for the course though.
"Why do you even bother putting make-up on?" Elijah asked, he was still naked in her bed and watched her.
"I need to look good. Happens when you are a female model." She smiled. She was seated at her table and applying lipstick on.
"I guess that's true." He laid back on his back, "Got work today. I should go home..." He trailed off.
"You can stay here as long as you want." She mused as she stood up and pulled off her dressing gown. She pulled on her thong and a simple black bodysuit, high waist black jeans and a delicate mesh sparkly top. She braided back her hair and tugged on a pair of white sneakers.
"Yeah I could but I need the money..." he let out a loud dramatic sigh.
"Aw, poor baby." She laughed as she sat on the edge of the bed and leaned over him, "Message me after you finish work?"
"I will. Want me to come over tonight?" He leaned up and kissed her chin gently.
"You can come over whenever you want." She played with a curl of his hair and smiled.
"Sweet. I'll make sure I climb up on the balcony and sneak through." He teased as he sat up and had a hand on her thigh, his thumb rubbing back and forth.
"Such a romantic. But you might hurt yourself and I don't want that." She reached out and touched his shoulders and ran her hands down his arms.
"Yeah, I guess I can't do that then. I'll just give you a call after work and see where you are at." He nodded.
"Alright. I gotta go now. I'll see you later. Love you." She kissed his cheek, leaving red lipstick behind and headed out. She drove to her uni, parked and headed up. Her nerves kicked in and she started to stress, how the fuck was she going to do this? She knew Cillian was kind and caring but when it came to work not being handed in he was quite hard about it.
She slipped into class with everyone else and took her spot next to Julian who was grim looking.
"You good?" She asked her best friend. He had kept his messages short and brief these past few days.
"Yeah. Peachy." He said giving her a sidelong look before he resumed reading.
She nodded and kept quiet. People came in and some stopped by to tell her this:
"Hey, crazy party on Wednesday night. Thanks for the invite."
"Yo, can't believe you kicked us out! You are so fucking crazy girl!"
"Oh my god," Victoria smirked as she stood in front of her desk as the rest of the group headed to their table. "That sex party at your apartment was so good. I had such a pleasurable night. Your toys were such an abundance, you love a lot of anal though. And BDSM."
Cillian had just walked in and heard what Victoria said to Tessa and only cleared his throat. "Victoria please sit. Class will start." He said with a stern tone.
Victoria laughed and went to go sit as Tessa sat there red-faced. The whole class heard it. Julian let out a soft choke as he glanced at Tessa.
"Sex party?" He whispered.
"Not my idea nor did I approve of such shit. Esther's fault." Tessa muttered.
"Right. I have to show you something after this." He said.
Tessa only grew more stressed.
"I have already begun going through the assignments and luckily enough I've finished them. I must say I am very happy with the work you guys have produced. I'm not the one to have favourites but... I do love the details and the extensive research you all have done. Well-done." Cillian beamed from his desk. "But I do want to express my admiration to Sofia who has done an exceptional job on her report. I will send you all a copy of her work so you may have it as a reference for how you can sort out your reports or for any type of assignment that requires research and using examples and paraphrasing. I thank you all for a pleasant read." Everyone clapped for Sofia who was sticking her nose up and enjoying the attention greatly.
She gave Tessa a cold and sly smirk before her eyes returned to Cillian, all just sex and lust in her eyes.
Tessa wanted to gag and she sunk further into her chair, her heartfelt like shattering as she heard the praise Cillian gave to the stupid bitch. No way was his dislike for her had to have changed so fast, she knew he hated her and how she always came on to him so strongly even in front of everyone. It made her want to rip her eyes out.
Class continued on as per usual and she worked on her script with Julian. She learned that Julian's parents were in town and he wasn't in a good mood as they were the ones who kicked him out of their home when he came out. He was to attend his sister's graduation and had to deal a night worth of shit from his parents. Tessa offered him advice and a safe place in her apartment if he needed a friendly face. He accepted it.
When class was over and people milled around Cillian to received back their marks, Sofia waltzed over and giggled, "Happy I got a great grade? Cillian is so all over me about it. I kinda thought you would've beaten me but hey, look at that. The queen arises higher than her dirty servants." She laughed, "Also, Victoria had such a blast. The videos I've seen really makes me question whether you are a disgusting freak too. Never seen so much leather in once place and such exotic creepy looking toys. You are so fucked in the head." She whispered and left Tessa boiling in her own anger.
"Shit." Julian sat there and saw Tessa watch Sofia as if she was about to rip her head off.
"Videos?" Tessa looked at Julian.
"That is the thing I wanted to tell you about. It's all over Facebook and Instagram." He took out his phone and showed it to her especially one where Victoria and some random two girls and guys were showcasing Tessa's wardrobe and the various sex items she had. Her name wasn't mentioned but Tessa had keen-eyed friends who could pinpoint her clothing and her bedroom.
"I'm gonna fucking kill her." She knew there was no chance those videos would disappear. Forever online.
"What are you gonna do?" Julian asked as he packed up his stuff.
"Nothing. I can't do anything," She whispered as she looked up, Cillian was saying good-bye to the last few students.
"You sure? You could do something." Julian frowned.
"Yeah? Like what? There isn't anything I can do, Julian. What happened has happened." She said.
"What is going on?" Cillian had come over and heard the discussion.
"Nothing," Tessa said quickly as she shoved her stuff into her bag.
Julian pressed his lips together, "I guess I'll see you later." He said and left her alone.
"What videos, Tessa? I've been hearing whispering all class about some... Party you held." Cillian was expecting an answer and he would get one from her. He wasn't too happy with her.
"I held no such party. My roommate held one without my knowledge. House was trashed. I had to clean, throw things out and buy everything again." She pulled her bag on her shoulder. "Now I want to go. I have no time in telling you anything." She turned to go.
"Now, hold up, Tess. What is this aggression suddenly? Why are you acting like this?" Cillian grabbed her arm.
She snatched her arm back and glared at him, "Cause I'm an actor and I'll behave in whatever way I want." She bit back.
Cillian crossed his arms, "You are no such actor. You are behaving like a child and ignored my questions today."
"And Sofia is any fucking better than me?" Oh, God, she was fuming. How dare he call her a child?
"Sofia has become a very respectful girl these past few weeks with my help on aiding her. She's really outshone herself despite her many doubts." Cillian stood his ground. But he knew he wished it would've been the opposite and for Tessa to be the best than that... Skank.
Tessa scoffed and let out an emotionless laugh, "Wow... You... Wow. And I thought you were smarter than this, Cillian. Didn't think fake tits and botox pumped face was what you liked. Maybe I should do the same? Pump my lips till they're like balloons, my tits heavier than a fucking elephant and take out part of my spine so I can snap forward to expose my plastic ass? Is that what it takes you to get your attention?" Her words were spilling out without a filter and she had no way to stop them. She hated the fact that he took so much interest in Sofia and he had private lessons with her. Despite not wanting to talk to him about her life, she enjoyed his gentle spirit and kind eyes. Not once did Elijah came to mind when she had her thoughts on Cillian.
Cillian was shocked to hear those words from Tessa. He only kept his attention on Sofia because... Because he wanted to get Tessa out of his head. The beautiful girl before him enraptured him so fast all he could think was taking her over his desk. And the tight clothing she always wore... Fuck.
"No words, huh? Damn. Your standards are so low, Cillian. I don't want no more lessons with you, I don't need them." Tessa stepped back.
"We need to discuss your assignment you failed to upload. You will come to my office at four this afternoon." He pulled his brain in and go back to teacher mode.
"Yeah. Sure. Fine." She rolled her eyes and stalked out of the room, feeling so much anger she wanted to stab something. But instead, she went for the music room that the music club had owned for themselves. Anyone part of the club could come in here. She was glad no one was here and she pulled out the cello and lost herself into the music.
Cillian was heartbroken when she left. He had no explanation to her about why he took an interest in Sofia. He couldn't just tell her he wanted her in ways that could cost him his job... But fuck, he WAS doing Sofia... What made the difference? Oh, right, he fucked Sofia so he could rid the thoughts of wanting to fuck Tessa. Fuck. He needs to pull himself together and get his damn morals right. He had to end it with Sofia. No more of this stupid shit. Today he would do it when she would come to him.
It came to the end of the day and Tessa had to work herself up to walk towards the office building. She really did not want to talk to Cillian or be near him other than be in class and do her work. It was clear she failed and she didn't want to hear it again. She already got an email. She ran a hand over her throat, then down her shoulder, a thing she would do if she was nervous. She paced back and forth in the hallway.
"Just go. Listen. Agree or disagree on whatever shit he has to say." She muttered to herself, "Then leave. Easy." After a few more minutes of hyping herself up, she headed down the hall past many classrooms.
But there was a sound like a laugh or something spiked her interest. She paused and listened closely... Another sound, a female sigh followed by what was like a... Moan? But it was too soft to really pick out what it was so she slowly backtracked to a room. She stopped in front of a door and could hear the sound of shuffling clothes and another soft sound, definitely a moan. She wondered if it was just some students who wanted to have some risky sex. But no, the next words made her feel like someone shot her.
"Mm, Cillian..." The female voice was none other than Sofia.
Tessa was still as she listened further, she could hear the familiar sounds when someone was thrusting, the creak of the table, the soft grunts of a man, and the sounds of skin to skin. He was going at it and Sofia was clearly trying to hold back her moans. But some loud ones did escape.
But he couldn't... No way. No way would he let Sofia get into his pants. He hated her. Did he not? Jealously slammed into her before she could fight it back. She didn't believe Sofia would do this... She heard the pair get close to their peak and Cillian let out a soft grunt as he finished up.
"Oh... Wow... That was a good one. I like it when you take me hard. Treating me for how good I did today?" She purred.
Shuffling of clothing, "No. I was not. This will be the last time, Sofia. No more." Cillian said with a hard tone.
"Liar. You said that last time and we've fucked like ten times now. You will always come back to me, babe. You like these tits and my tight pussy. I didn't get that surgery for nothing." She huffed.
Tessa wanted to gag but she continued to listen.
"I'm being serious, Sofia. Enough of this. I don't want it anymore." Cillian came by the door and Tessa tensed but he walked away. "You need to stop."
Sofia laughed, "Yeah, yeah. Come on Cillian. I know you love it. Besides, how else will you get that other bitch out of your thoughts?"
Now Tessa was very curious.
"I have no idea what you are talking about." Cillian hissed and it sounded like Sofia came close to him.
"It's so fucking obvious. You watch that little skank every time in class. You've moaned her damn name, 'Oh Tessa!'Â into my ear four times now. Even just then you did it." Sofia said with a low purr.
Tessa couldn't believe that no way would Cillian...
"It's a mistake. Just like we are." Cillian replied.
"Again. You lie. You want her so badly but she's got no balls to ask you for that. Only I do. I mean, I am a bit pissed you think about her instead of me, but at least I get to ride your cock. Also, you won't have her any time soon, she's got a boyfriend. So, you are stuck with me." She giggled. "So, same time tomorrow? I'll wear your favourite panties."
Tessa stepped back from the door and walked away hastily, not wanting to listen any further. Cillian wanted her? Then why was he with Sofia? Was it really true he liked his girls to be naughty? To have the balls to approach him? Sofia just said that. He was calling it quits with Sofia and Tessa hoped he would stick to his word... Maybe... Just maybe...
She shook her head. She was so not thinking right. To try and get Cillian's sole attention on her? It made her aroused. She had thoughts the moment she saw him and she had caught his gaze on her many times, saw the heat and passion. She figured his wanting for her was true. Leaning against the elevator wall she had to come to a conclusion. Should she risk it and make an attempt? Or should she just forget about it all and spend a happy life with Elijah who had shown so many good qualities towards her?
Tess waited in the foyer, standing beside the window and watched the grey sky. Cillian came up eventually and looked over, "Hey, Tess. Sorry for the delay."
She looked over but didn't reply and gave him a curt smile. He guided her to his office and she sat down as he closed the door. She crossed her leg and sat with her arms loosely crossed in her lap as she kept her eyes downward as he sat down with a soft grunt.
He let in a breath and a short sigh, "I'm glad you could come here, Tessa." He said, "I can see you don't want to do this but we must."
"Let's make it quick, hm? I have no time to sit here and be reminded of being a failure." She said as she looked up, keeping her face neutral. Though she could not get the images out of Sofia all over him.
Cillian eased back in his chair in a low slouch, one arm supporting his weight as the other flicked a pen between his fingers.
Fingers that would be inside Sofia.
Tessa only got angrier.
Cillian could see that emotion in her eyes. He wondered why was she so pent up. "Fine. Well, I can skip the whole you not posting your assignment. Can I ask why?"
"My laptop was destroyed from a sex party my roommate hosted." Tessa said without hesitation, "And before you say it, yes, I know. I'm the dumbass who didn't save a second copy or somewhere else."
Cillian was totally dumbfounded, the aggression was pouring through her words and the way she sat. But holy fuck that look on her face... He was turned on. He gritted his teeth and leaned forward, "What is wrong with you Tessa? And don't give me a bullshit response. I know something is up." He snapped back. If she wanted to be like this he would give it right back to her, fuck being her teacher now.
Tessa leaned forward too, all she could see were those lovely lips upon Sofia's, his hands roaming her body and drawing her closer, "Nothing is fucking wrong with me. I'm the most okay person on this planet. Now, tell me I've failed so I can go." She said.
"What is it with you and constantly wanting to be degraded like this?" Cillian asked, "Huh? I cannot fathom such a beautiful girl like you to be beaten down like this. You are not a failure, Tessa. I can help you with this, look I can make an exception and give you until the end of this week to do the assignment. I've spoken to the board and I truly believe you are capable of so much." His voice lowered and he was gentler on her now.
Tessa frowned and looked away, clenching and releasing her hands in her lap. Cillian knelt before her now, his expression placid, "I want to know what I did to make you act like this." Cillian slipped his hand in hers.
She bit her lip and pulled her hand back, "I thank you for giving me an extra week. I will make you proud." She stood suddenly and he stood too.
"You already do, Tess. With your weekly work and good attention during class and moderate activeness to class, the discussion is wonderful. I can't ask you to do anymore. So please, tell me what have I done? Did I do something?"
Tessa wanted to tell him how angry she was that he was doing Sofia as she glared at him, "Why do you care?" She asked instead.
"I care-" He was at a loss for words, "I-" His brows furrowed as he looked at her. "It's because-"
The words fell out of her before she could bite them back, "Because you're fucking someone else."
Cillian stepped back as if the words slapped him, "What are you talking about?"
She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Whispers tell me." Of course, Sofia wasn't in all her classes but the other girls were and she had caught a whiff of it today. And the fact she saw it unfold before her in that classroom to told her as much.
He shook his head, "Rumours are dangerous Tess-"
"I saw it." She said with a dead look, her tone matching it.
"S-Saw it?" Cillian whispered, "You must be mistaken. I am not like that, Tessa."
"I like it when you take me hard," Tessa did her best impression of Sofia and Cillian seemed to lose colour to his face. "Didn't actually see it but I heard it. Walked by the classroom and heard it all." She held his gaze.
Cillian tried to recover and shot back, "And why do you care? Is this what you are mad about?"
She scrunched up her nose, "No, gross. Why would I be jealous of some fake bitch? At least I got some real shit and not some plastic crap shoved into my body." She rolled her eyes. "You do whoever you like, Cillian. You like em with some balls to them. Plastic ones, it seems." She picked up her bag, "Anyway. Not my problem." Hurt was coursing through her and all she wanted was him for herself. "I'll get the assignment done-" She was pinned against the wall beside the door and Cillian was extremely close to her face.
"It is your problem because you don't like who I fuck." He growled, his lips mere inches from hers.
"It is not, you dumbass. Why should I care? I don't own you." She bit back.
"It is. I know you want me. You think I'm blind to your gaze? I can see it right now you want me. I will admit I want you to, I don't want Sofia. I never did." His hands moved from her shoulders to her waist and he closed that gap between their bodies as their hips came together.
She felt a hard push against her crotch and bit back a moan, "Then why do you hurt me like this? Why must you fuck her?" She whispered as she gripped his arms.
"Because I-I wanted you so badly that I couldn't get you out of my head. All I could think is about you." He pressed his forehead to hers. Her heart fluttered at the words and the truth he spoke so clearly. "I used her to get you out of my head cause I did not wish to hurt you if things went wayward with us. But God... I'm an idiot. I should've... Approached you or said something. It might've ruined our relationship if you denied me but God... I should've taken that chance." He whispered intimately to her.
She was feeling all sort of things, a slam of emotions rolling through her and she leaned forward and kissed him softly. She felt his hesitation and pulled back, looking at him. "I- Forgive me-"
His lips came crashing back down on hers and they kissed hard and desperate. It was messy as teeth and tongues clashed, her fingers diving into his hair as his arms locked around her body and there was no room between them. She felt her leg being lifted and held to his waist, and she felt his driving hips into hers and the promise of something that leads to no clothing. She let out a moan as his hand came up to fondle her breast as his head dipped to her neck again and his mouth leaving a trail of heated kisses to her flushed skin. He then pulled out that mesh top and pulled it over her head and threw it aside alongside his jumper. He watched how Tessa worked to undo his tie and then unbutton his shirt.
Yes, He thought. He would finally claim her, have her perfect body under his. He chuckled when she pushed open his shirt and leaned in kissing his neck and down to his chest, her fingers brushing along his slides to the belt buckle of his pants. He let out a soft moan when she gave his nipple a teasing suck and came back to his lips.
"Like that?" She murmured and kissed him.
"Mhm." He pushed her back against the wall and saw the excitement in her eyes. "You like to be dominated?"
"I do. I'm your little pet to play with." She licked her lips as he attacked her neck again and kissed down to the neckline of the bodysuit she wore.
"My pet." He murmured with a smirk, "I like that. And what name would you call me?" He pulled down the thin shoulder straps and the neckline under her perfect breasts. They were absolutely perfect, bigger than a handful. Much bigger. But at least they were real.
Tessa loved that heated gaze on her bare chest, and she arched her back for him to really show off her assets. "Like what you see, sir?" She bit her bottom lip feeling his hands rest on her waist and slowly move up to just under her arms and move across to cover her breasts. She let out a soft moan.
"I love it." He rasped, "Love these nipple piercings. What if I did this..." He grabbed one and tugged on it.
Tessa covered her mouth and let out a soft whimper, her hips snapping forward. "Ah!"
"Ah, sensitive. Perfect." He leaned in and began to suck on one, rolling it over his tongue and teeth as he let his hand slide down the flat surface of her stomach and force its way between her jeans and her body. He felt her soaking core and her body trembled-
"Mr Murphy! I need to have a chat with you about one of the assignments you have marked. It concerns me." A woman called from the door as she knocked.
Cillian let out a soft curse, "Uhm... Okay. Give me a moment. Just with a student." He called out as he pulled his hand out-
Tessa gripped it and pushed it back in, "Touch me. Just for a quick moment." She whispered and began to rock her hips, needing to cum so badly from all the touching and kissing he gave her.
"I can't- Oh god." He mouthed and had her back against the wall and fingered her clit fast, feeling her grip on his shoulders tightened.
"Mr Murphy, how long?" The woman seemed impatient.
"One minute! Please." He replied as he pushed two fingers into Tessa, now fingering her fast and hard as her body rocked and trembled, he could feel how tight her walls were. She was so close.
"I am on a tight schedule, Mr Murphy." The woman urged just as Tessa made an 'O' face and let out soft delicate whimpers against his shoulder as she released over his hand. He stayed like that for a moment before he had to pull away. He looked at his fingers and his cock hardened before his eyes widened... He had come as well with her. He felt the wetness at his jeans and they both glanced down.
Tessa giggled and took his hand, cleaning his fingers by sucking on them and used her tongue. She stepped back and fixed her bodysuit as he shrugged on his jumper as he had no time when the door opened.
He had just thrown his shirt over the table as he made his way back to the chair to sit when the door swung opened, the female teacher glanced at the pair, "Sorry to intrude so rudely but this is of concern."
Tessa smiled as she slung her bag over her back, clutching her coat with her sparkly shirt underneath it, "That is okay. We are done here for today." She said.
"No worries. I just want to remind you of uhm... Your lipstick is... All over the place." When the woman had her eyes on Tessa, Cillian had ducked his head behind the desk to clean off his lips with a handy wet wipe he had and his neck before he sat up.
"I got some wet wipes." He offered a packet to Tessa.
"Thanks." Tessa smiled and took one, meeting his eyes and gave him a wink and mouthed, 'This isn't over yet' before she wiped her lips carefully.
"Poor girl, you didn't offer her earlier?" The woman scoffed as Tessa left them, shutting the door behind her. Once she was in the elevator, out of the Uni and in her car she sat there for a good moment. Eyes shut and just... Coming down from all of that happened in the office of her damn drama teacher. Was this just another one of her hot dreams? She reached between her legs and pulled her hand out. Wet as fuck. Not dreaming. He had made her cum for real. She licked them clean as she pulled on her sparkly top and her coat as she was cold but still felt hot in certain areas.
Cillian made her cum.
For real.
He kissed her, touched her breasts, fingered her...
Holy fuck.
She felt her phone ring and she jumped from her occupied thoughts. It was Elijah when she picked up. Fuck. And yet... She felt no guilt as she organised a movie night for tonight at her place. No guilt when she promised him an exciting night. And definitely, no guilt when she met him, kissed him and let him fuck her body when they got bored with the movie they watched in her room.
What the fuck has she gotten herself into?

Elijah Mikaelson couldnât help but to be left feeling uneasy following Laurel Lance returning to New Orleans permanently although he definitely enjoyed having her back he could help but feel guilty for wanting her back in a city that held so much pain for the both of them.
However it was Lucas Lanceâs return or rather the arrival of his Earth X doppelganger Lucas Wayne that Elijah was much more concerned by and so he wasted very little time in getting to know the infamous Blue Canary, quickly discovering that Lucas Wayne was a far cry from Lucas Lance.
Although there were similarities between the two doppelgangers other than their looks: Both Lucasâ were smart and calculating with a determined drive to stay alive, both had complicated relationships with their biological mothers and both had managed to capture the attention of Elijahâs brother Klaus Mikaelson much to everyoneâs worries considering how bad the original hybridâs curiosity with Lucas Lance ended.
âI see your settling into New Orleans rather well Mr Wayne.â Elijah greeted the Earth X doppelganger after vamp speeding into Rousseau's, speeding over to the bar counter to find Lucas Wayne serving drinks to customers with Josh stood by his side. âI believe your also living with the Lance sisters at their hotel.â
âIâve got this,â Lucas told Josh before walking over to face off with the noble original vampire, leaving Josh to tend to customers as he spoke to Elijah. âThe pristine suit which looks pricy as hell must mean youâre Elijah Mikaelson. Iâve met your brother Klaus heâs what I call an original stalker of sorts.â
âMy brother Niklaus is merely being cautious you see your doppelganger Lucas Lance proved himself rather troublesome for everyone including himself and we donât want a repeat of that for everyoneâs sakesâŚespecially your motherâs.â Elijah informed the Blue Canary.
âI get it Lucas Lance was the villain in your story but in mine people like you, your siblings and god even my mother were the villains.â Lucas replied to Elijah. âIâm here because I have nowhere else to go and Iâm beginning to believe Iâm here to save this city.â
âWhat is it you think that this city needs saving from?â Elijah scoffed at him as he took a seat at the counter.
âFirst guess would be the vampires who treat humans like walking snacks, the wolves keep themselves to themselves so theyâre not on the agenda and the witches are pretty hit and miss.â Lucas answered him before going over to pour the original a glass of straight whisky before walking back over and serving Elijah his drink. âIâm not coming for anyone in particular but I wonât stand by if anyone or anything comes for the few innocents around here.â
âAre you threatening me Mr Wayne or are you threatening my entire family?â Elijah asked him before taking a drink of his whisky, only to smile at the taste of this whisky. âI guess youâre the kind of bartender who knows their customerâs drink.â
âI like Sara and Iâm even fond of Laurel so when they tell me somebodyâs good Iâll accept it until they prove otherwise however nobody has anything nice to say about Klaus Mikaelson and his stalking of me isnât helping me think otherwise.â Lucas admitted to Elijah. âAs for your drink consider it on me as a thanks for putting your brother in lineâŚunless you want me to do the job for you?â
âMy brother Niklaus isnât someone who is easily handled especially considering how fond he was of your doppelgangerâŚpersonally I didnât see why.â Elijah informed Lucas before downing his drink and placing the empty glass onto the counter. âI much prefer this Lucas standing in front of me however morals are a rare thing around here and they tend to get you killed.â
âIâll keep that in mind Mr Mikaelson.â Lucas responded with a sincere smile on his face before Elijah vamp sped out of Rousseau's and out of sight.
âDeclaring war on the Mikaelsonâs doesnât end well for you trust me my friend Marcel once thought he could survive that family and letâs just say you wonât see him in New Orleans anymore.â Josh warned Lucas as he walked over to his new employee. âHe was considered family to them as well.â
âIâve dealt with murderous mothers, overbearing fathers, endless superhuman enemies and literally Naziâs in my time Iâm sure I can handle a vampire or two.â Lucas boasted to his vampire boss only to be met by Josh laughing at him.
âFunny your less evil than your evil twin but your just as foolish.â Josh scoffed at the Blue Canary. âForgive me for my advice Iâm just the only person in this city that doesnât seem to have a death wish.â
Josh Rosza was far wiser than his years but hid behind an adorable yet admit-tingly dorky personality which had served him very well as a vampire especially considering everyone around him had died and yet he continued to advise his friends to follow suit only to see them take different paths.
His first greatest loss was the love of his life Aiden who fell victim to the Mikaelâs ruthless aunt Dahlia before he found himself losing his best friend Davina several times before losing her for what seemed like for good and in the last five years alone he had lost his close friend Marcel Gerard again due to the Mikaelsonâs.
When Davina first returned to New Orleans five years ago Joshâs biggest fear was losing her again to a doomed fate but instead, she gave up her need for vengeance against Klaus as she fell back in love with Kol and got married.
Although the wonder witch still lived in the city their friendship had changed and became strained as Josh made clear his distaste over their handling of Marcel Gerard. Josh was determined to find Marcel being the only one who hadnât given up on the updated original and that put a strain on his relationship with Davina Claire-Mikaelson.
However, in the last five years he had found himself forming a new friendship with the Black Canary keeping in touch over his mission to find his friend and her mission to save the world and now he had her son, or at least some version of her son, working for him and feared Lucas Wayne would either follow the same path as his doppelganger Lucas Lance or his estranged friend Davina.
Five years earlier Klaus Mikaelson had found himself growing rather close to Lucas Lance despite a determination to do anything considering the Red Canary was selfish, reckless, manipulative and calculating, all the things Klaus used to be before he became a father. It took him time to realize that what attracted him most to Lucas was how much the canary reminded him of himself.
Of course it grew more complicated as he learned more about the Red Canary realizing the meta-human was nowhere near as heartless as heâd have liked people to admit and far more troubled than even he realized unleashing Klausâ need to want to help Lucas find his way like his siblings and his daughter helped him but unlike Klausâ long and immortal life the Red Canaryâs life was cut short.
Lucas Lance was never a great love of his life and Klaus doubted he wouldâve been had they been together longer but his memory did serve as a painful reminder of a time he failed somebody he actually wanted to help and therefore the arrival of Lucasâ Earth X doppelganger Lucas Wayne only served to remind the original hybrid even more and for that reason he had been avoiding the Blue Canary like a plague until he was told to do exactly that and Klaus Mikaelson never did what he was told.
âListen up Klaus because Iâm only going to say this once under no circumstances whatsoever are you to come near Lucas. The last thing we need right now is your undead ass fucking up my sisterâs chance of getting to know her son.â Sara demanded as she walked into the compound to find Klaus stood waiting for her.
âJust because my sister has grown fond of you doesnât mean Iâm not going to tear your head off for the nerve of trying to make demands of me besides the last Lucas found more danger with you than he ever did with me.â Klaus snapped back at the White Canary.
âThat was differentâŚwe had just lost our motherâŚwe thought there was no going back for him.â Sara replied with a clear sense of regret in her voice. âThis is our chance to do right by him.â
âThe only problem with that logic is Lucas Wayne isnât Lucas Lance which means heâs not your nephew or your sisterâs son. Youâve just let some stranger straight into your home because he looks familiar.â Klaus told her with a hint of judgement on his face, knowing Sara, Laurel and Rebekah were to blame for Lucas Lanceâs demise.
âHe is Lucas though or at least the way Lucas used to be until everything went to shit. This version of him is kind, loyal and heroic just like the baby brother I grew up with.â Sara admitted to the original hybrid as tears formed in her eyes. âHe may have a different history and he may not know me or Laurel but heâs so much like the Lucas I used to know it makes me feelâŚâ
âGuilty that you gave up on the original?â Klaus butted in, all too eager to make the canary feel even more guilty. âHeâs not your second chance Sara and heâs not going to make it right how you and your sister plotted to murder your own blood all because he had an episode or two.â
âHe murdered our mother thatâs not an episode or two!â Sara reminded Klaus, furious that the original would dismiss her motherâs death like it was nothing, also furious that she gave up on her adoptive brother so easily and that he was reminding her of how she failed him. âPlease just stay the hell away from this Lucas!â
âIâll take it into consideration Miss Lance.â Klaus lied, knowing damn fine he was now going to make himself well known to the Blue Canary.
Klaus Mikaelson initially had no intention to have any contact with Lucas Wayne following their initial meeting weeks ago but after learning how much Sara Lance wanted him to stay away he just couldnât pass an opportunity to put the White Canary in her place still loathing her for murdering his elder sister Freya Mikaelson and holding her just as responsible for Laurel in the parts they played in Lucas Lanceâs death.
In fact, Klaus genuinely believed he had moved on from Lucas Lanceâs death but the idea of his family being so quick to embrace a purer version of him angered the original hybrid far more than he thought it would and now he wanted to teach the Lance sisters a lesson for dishonoring the memory of a man they helped murder.
Caitlin Snow was a powerful woman long before she discovered she was a meta-human working as a well-respected bio-engineer at S.T.A.R. Labs alongside her fiancĂŠ Ronnie Raymond who was a structural engineer for the company but everything changed for her upon her fiance's mysterious disappearance eventually turning her from a loving and caring woman to someone with an ice cold heart as Killer Frost was born.
Caitlin chose a life of villainy following her heartbreak after discovering her powers of thermometric cryokinesis taking on the villainess mantle as Killer Frost leaving Caitlin Snow and all she worked for behind which led to her becoming enemies with some of the most powerful heroes including the Black Canary.
Killer Frost had a long and complicated history with Laurel Lance having once been best friends with the canary only to later become obsessed in bringing her down always failing until the death of the multiverse gave her an opportunity to arrive on Earth X, a world which followed none of the rules that the other worlds did in the now dead multiverse.
The realization that the Black Canary currently residing within Earth X wasnât the Black Canary from her world hadnât stopped her obsession especially with Killer Frostâs new friends, all of which were determined to destroy at least one if not all three of the canaries within New Orleans.
âIn such a big and busy city, itâs quite remarkable to find such peace in a quiet little place like this.â Frost stated as she walked into the quiet Rousseau's bar to find Lucas Wayne stood behind the bar wiping down the counter. âEither youâre a really bad bartender or people are scared to come into this establishment.â
âI guess youâre officially stopping me from having to close anytime soon.â Lucas greeted the long white-haired woman as she walked over to the bar and sat down at the counter. âYou look strangely familiarâŚhave we met before?â
âNope you donât exist in my timeline or my world which also doesnât exist anymore.â She replied, making it clear to the Blue Canary that she was from the multiverse. âThis world is quite intriguing, but the only downfall seems to be thereâs one too many Lances around here.â
âIâm a Wayne not a Lance but Iâm more interested in who the bloody hell you are?â Lucas wondered just as Laurel walked into the bar looking horrified to see Killer Frost, who instantly rose from her chair and turned around to face the Black Canary.
âKiller FrostâŚyouâre supposed to be long dead not to mention the world itself died after you!â Laurel said in shock, clearly uneasy to see an old foe.
âIâm not exactly the Killer Frost you know but I hate you just as much if not more.â Frost revealed to Laurel, as she found herself stood between both canaries. âIf you think your Earth X son was the only one to jump ship before the death of the multiverse than you thought wrong.â
âYou should leave now before you wind up just as dead as your other doppelgangers!â Laurel warned Frost, with a look of hatred in her eyes, a look Lucas had never seen from the Black Canary but had seen from the Black Siren one time too many.
âMy father told me all about you, you were long dead on my Earth too but you were quite the formidable foe before thatâŚin my world you were my twisted motherâs closest confidant so it only makes sense you hate the good versions of her.â Lucas piped in, once again showing a vast knowledge about the multiverse.
âYouâre so much more than just a looker if only you were a bit redder instead of blue we may have got along!â Killer Frost told Lucas before lifting her hand in his direction shooting out a large ice blast from the palm of her hands as Laurel released a canary cry in her direction, the ice blast hitting Lucas and throwing him into the glass cabinet filled with alcohol destroying it before throwing Lucas down to the ground, as Laurelâs canary cry sent the villainess Killer Frost flying across the bar before hitting a wall and crash landing onto the ground.
âI warned you to get the hell out of here Caitlin!â Laurel shouted at the doppelganger of her nemesis. âNow Iâm going to have to teach you a lesson.â
The Blue Canary and Killer Frost both rose to their feet at the same time, the Blue Canary ready to charge at the villainess white haired woman while the white haired woman had all eyes on the Black Canary but before anyone could attack Klaus vamp sped into the bar, speeding all the way over to Lucas before grabbing a hold of him and vamp speeding out of Rousseau's with the Blue Canary leaving a confused Laurel Lance standing alone in the bar with her nemesis Caitlin Snow.
âWell I was planning on killing you both, but I suppose Iâm not totally pissed itâs just you and me now!â Killer Frost told the Black Canary before raising her hand to release another ice blast in Laurelâs direction, just as Laurel released a large canary cry in the direction of the villainess.
If Laurel was going to win against Caitlin Snowâs ruthless alter ego Killer Frost then she had better get her head in the game but with the doppelganger of her son just being kidnapped by Klaus Mikaelson she couldnât help but worry about Lucas Wayne and what the original hybrid had in store for him.
Klaus Mikaelson had learned a lot about the canaries during the five years in which Sara and Laurel had clashed with him and his family and although his siblings had built friendships with the Lance sisters he had kept wary of them deciding to instead study the canaries and learn their weaknesses.
Klaus was forever paranoid about betrayals and potential feuds after all his familyâs worst enemies tended to be close allies at some stage before turning against them and so he found it wiser to study all that came into his life knowing how best to take them both down if he needed to, which he always did.
He knew Laurelâs canary cry was pretty powerful so much so that it destroyed the hollow and their blood was special enough to restore Elijahâs memories and he also knew the canaries could die just like Lucas Lance died or be turned into a vampire like Sara Lance.
The canaries were powerful but only as powerful as their cry or at least thatâs what Klaus believed and thanks to a brief alliance with Nyssa al Ghul he knew exactly how to deal with a canary cry putting the Blue Canary exactly where he wanted him.
âThis should give us some proper time alone!â Klaus stated after vamp speeding into Lafayette Cemetery with Lucas and putting a power dampening collar around the son of batmanâs neck. âDonât want you getting any advantage over me with that damn canary cry.â
Lucas wasted no time in grabbing a hold of the original hybridâs arm as he bent himself over and threw Klaus over his back until the vampire hit the ground with force while Lucas twisted his arm, popping the arm out of its socket before harshly stomping his foot down on Lucasâ throat, easing off just enough to let the hybrid speak.
âI donât need a cry to kick your ass Klaus!â Lucas shouted at him before Klaus grabbed a hold of the Blue Canary and flung him over his body forcing the canary to land on the ground next to the vampire, as Klaus popped his arm back into its socket after a series of groans.
âI hate you!â Klaus furiously stated to Lucas as he climbed on top of his body, preparing to strangle the canary only to be headbutt in the face by Lucas, followed by Lucas kicking the vampire upwards, before Klaus finally found his footing as Lucas stood up to face him.
âYou donât even know me!â Lucas snapped back at Klaus before the original hybrid sped towards him, only for the Blue Canary to deliver a series of punches across the vampireâs face before Klaus threw him to the ground, Lucas grabbing a hold of Klaus, making the vampire fall on top of the canary.
âIâŚâ Klaus said before pausing as he looked into the eyes of the Blue Canary, as hidden feelings began to rise and suddenly the vampire found himself kissing a stunned Lucas only for Lucas to respond by grabbing the vampire and throwing his body over his own, making Klaus hit the ground harshly once again as Lucas rose to his feet.
âWhat the hell do you think your doing?â Lucas questioned Klaus, as Klaus quickly stood back up, both looking as confused as the other.
âYou just look so much like himâŚâ Klaus reluctantly admitted to the canary. âI guess the only reason I want you dead is because your forcing me to feel something I donât want to feel.â
âI surprisingly understand where youâre coming from I mean Iâm not going around trying to kill then kiss people but itâs not easy seeing a doppelganger of my mother whose nothing like her so I can only imagine how hard it must be to see a doppelganger of somebody you were once in love with.â Lucas replied to Klaus, surprising the original with his kindness.
âI was never in love with Lucas LanceâŚI cared for him, but I never loved him.â Klaus revealed to the Blue Canary, admitting not only to him but himself. âI donât normally try to be a hero, but I really wanted to save him and not because I loved him but because he reminded me of him.â
âSara filled me in on how you used to be a lot worse than what you are now which is saying something if this is the filtered down version.â Lucas joked with Klaus as he sat down on a nearby wall. âI guess my doppelganger reminded you of just how bad you were, how far youâve come and how much better your life is because of it. You wanted that for him because if he could get it someone who was probably nowhere near as ruthless as you once were then in some way itâd be like you deserved the life your living but instead he got took down and you canât help but think maybe you shouldâve been taken out too.â
âAre you seriously trying to psychoanalyze me because I can promise you, Iâm nowhere near as deep as youâre assuming, I am nor do I regret any action Iâve made in the past.â Klaus argued with Lucas, refusing to admit there was some truth in Lucasâ words.
âSometimes heroes last long enough to become villains and sometimes villains find their way back to heroes once more but thatâs not on anybody if they donât find their way back least of all a thousand year old vampire whose actions are morally questionable on a good day.â Lucas explained to Klaus, as Klaus sat down next to the Blue Canary, listening to him despite looking like he wanted to be anywhere else. âIâm not Lucas Lance but Iâm not some pillar of purity and goodness either we live in a grey world Klaus although admittedly redder here on Earth Blood. I canât say what happened to my doppelganger was the right way to handle him nor it was the wrong way but what I can say is heâs not me and heâs not you eitherâŚitâs time to let it go.â
Lucas was right about Klaus holding onto the past righter than he could have possibly known as Klaus realized the words coming out of this Earth X doppelganger were wise and if he was wise, heâd take the Blue Canaryâs advice.
It was in that moment for the first time since Lucas Wayne had arrive on Earth Blood that Klaus Mikaelson had started to see the Blue Canary for who he was and not just who he reminded him of.
Laurel Lanceâs history with her worldâs Caitlin Snow was very different to the one she had currently found herself coming face to face with: they had never been friends just enemies and it wasnât the death of Ronnie Raymond which led to the birth of her worldâs Killer Frost it was the death of Barry Allen which was her worldâs first flash before Wally West took over the mantle.
Laurel may have never seen a good side to Killer Frost but she knew people who did such as Cisco Ramone and Wally West and it was those friendships that constantly put her at odds with the villainess making the Black Canary very wary of the manic meta-human but not fully unaware of her potential to be redeemed.
The Black Canary and Killer Frostâs fight lasted for a long time much to the expense of Rousseau's which had been destroyed from the inside out with broken tables, chairs and bottles spread across the floor with planks of wood and glass scattered everywhere as Laurel found herself beaten, broken and bruised while laid on a floor covered in the ruins of Rousseau's as Killer Frost stood above her looking victorious.
âIâve always wanted to kill Laurel Lance, but I never thought it would be this easy.â Frost said while taunting Laurel, ready to kill the Black Canary. âItâs just a shame youâre the one who made it here but oh well every Laurelâs practically the same even the not so pure ones.â
âYou are better than this Caitlin! I may not know this version of you but every version of you becomes like this because you lose someone you love.â Laurel told the white-haired woman, hoping to appeal to some humanity within her. âI lost my son my actual son and it broke me more than I ever thought it would but what your doing isnât going to bring them back itâs just dishonoring their memory and what they meant to you.â
âYeah hereâs the thing I no longer care about anyone or anything.â Killer Frost replied as she magically formed an ice pick above her hand from out of thin air before Lucas sped into Rousseau's and clipped the power dampener collar around the white-haired womanâs neck before throwing her to the floor much to Laurelâs relief.
âYouâre not going to believe me when I say this, but Klaus Mikaelson actually comes in handy from time to time!â Lucas declared as he walked over to Laurel, offering his hand to her and helping her get back onto her feet.
âFunnily enough I do believe it he always did have a soft spot for that face.â Laurel admitted to Lucas before the both turned to look at a pissed off Killer Frost whose was slowly getting back on her feet as her white hair turned brown.
âWhat are we going to do about little miss frosty?â Lucas asked Laurel who surprised him with a smile on her face as she watched Killer Frostâs hair turn completely brown.
âWeâre going to help Killer Frost find Caitlin Snow once more.â Laurel revealed to a surprised Lucas, who was in awe of this version of his motherâs sense of forgiveness and kindness.
âOkayâŚbut weâre going to need a cage or something to keep her in the meantime.â Lucas suggested just as Klaus sped into Rousseau's with a sinister smirk on his face.
âI may have a prison or two Iâd be willing to lend the canariesâŚpending negotiations of course.â Klaus was eager to inform them all.
âOf course, you do!â Laurel scoffed while rolling her eyes, as she noticed Lucas and Klaus sharing a smile that made her feel very uneasy.
Laurel Lance had to deal with a lot since arriving on Earth Blood firstly the Mikaelsonâs, then her twisted brother, then the Mikaelsonâs and her brother only to then find out that baby brother of hers was actually her son before having to watch him meet a grizzly end but as she stood in the ruins of Rousseau's feeling the chemistry between Lucas Wayne and Klaus Mikaelson she had finally realized this was her all-time low.
The Black Canary was never a fan of the original hybrid, but she couldnât argue with his weird sense of loyalty towards her son Lucas Lance even if it did confuse her she was happy someone was on his side especially considering she couldnât be. However the Earth X doppelganger of her son Lucas Wayne was kind, honorable and loving, everything she believed Klaus Mikaelson wasnât and the last thing she wanted was for the Blue Canary to end up just as bad if not worse than the Red Canary.

Time for new Beginnings - 2
This was prompted by a beautiful anon! I hope you like it!
Fandom: Detroit become human | Ship: Reed900 | Characters: Elijah Kamski, Chloe (Warning: mentioned past child abuse) [Part1]
âGavin Reed?â
Elijah inhaled sharply. When had he last heard that voice? It felt like an eternity ago. He looked over at Chloe, who smiled at him encouragingly, but just like before, words failed him. What should he say? What could he even say? Would he make things worse by doing the one thing Gavin had told him not to do?
âHello?â Elijah swallowed. Why did his throat felt so dry suddenly? âListen, if you donât say something soon, Iâm gonna hang up.â âErr⌠hello?â, the CEO of Cyberlife hastily spoke up. He didnât know if he would manage to call again. âGavin?â âYes? Iâm sorry, who are you? I wonât buy shit, just so you know.â âNo, Gavin, itâs me, Elijah.â There was a sudden silence, then the connection was cut immediately.
Wide eyed, Elijah looked at his phone. âHe just hung up on me!â Chloe shrugged. âWell, that was to be expected. He fled the house the first opportunity he got, do you think he wouldnât do the same now?â âYou told me to call him!â âI just encouraged you.â Elijah put the phone down and rubbed at his forehead. âAnd what will you do now?â, his assistant asked teasingly. âI have to meet him. In person. This is my chance at apologising. And I know a place where he canât run away that easily.â
-
Gavinâs day was already ruined. Yes, it was a Monday. Yes, all of his cases had been cleared and it was unlikely another one would come up just today. Yes, he would have to help out the others and do some of his despised office work. But all of that he would have begrudgingly accepted. But no, his perfect, successful, rich asshole of a brother had called him. After what⌠xy years? Why? Why did he finally decide to get back in contact again? Well, it didnât matter, Gavin thought to himself as he shut the door behind him with a little too much force. He had cut the call and that would be it. Elijah was intelligent, he would understand that conveyed as much as a hearty âfuck offâ.
âWhat took you so long?â Gavin sighed, as he let himself fall into the seat next to Nines, so the android could drive them to the precinct. âYeah sorry, love, some prank call. Nines shrugged and started the engine. âMust be someone trying to sell you decaf coffee on the phone if it has you that aggressive already.â âHey, Iâm not aggressive, okay? I just went from eating breakfast made by the best android in the world to listening to some idiot I really donât want to talk to. Anyone would react that way.â âIf you say soâ, Nines chuckled. âLetâs hope the rest of the day treats you better.â
It seemed that way for a good four hours. Nines had gotten him a coffee; the little kiss an added gift on top of it. The reports were easy to write and filing evidence to return to families or be disposed of correctly was just something to keep the mind busy, really. By the time his break had begun, he had nearly forgotten that Elijah had called in the morning. Until the man itself stood in the bullpen and walked towards his desk. Everyoneâs attention was on him and no one seemed to dare stop him. It was just like Eli to barge in here like he owned the place. He could likely pay the fine just from the money he had on his person, too.
He came to a stop in front of Gavin, who only vaguely noticed Chloe awkwardly hurrying after the man. Gavin stayed seated, but his grip on the table was strong and Nines had stood up, soldier protocols at the ready without doubt. âGavin.â âEli.â They stared each other in the eyes without blinking and the tension seemed almost palpable. âI thought I made it clear I donât want any contact.â âYou told me not to call youâ, Elijah corrected. âWell, then I tell you now: I donât want any contact. Phck off!â
The precinct was so silent you could hear the hum of the lights. Everyone gaped at Gavin, who just told Elijah Kamski, CEO of Cyberlife and inventor of a now sentient lifeform, to fuck off.
âListen, I-â âNo, I wonât listen to you. Leave. Now.â âGavin I want to apologise.â âI donât care. Go.â âGavin, please, I-â Gavin stood up and although there was quite the hight difference between them, Elijah took a step back. His brother wasnât the small kid that bullied and beat up other children in the schoolground then cried at night to him about it anymore. The man in front of him was fit and muscular, trained with a gun and used to detain criminals. With how the cases were described in the paper, Elijah knew his brother had seen far worse things than he could even imagine. He really didnât want to get on his wrong side, but it seemed he had already managed that.
âFineâ, he said. âYou wanna talk? Good, that shit goes both ways then. So youâll listen to me first and then youâll think very, very hard about whether or not you really want to say what you were about to say!â Gavin pressed his eyes close and took a deep breath, before he pushed a finger against Elijahâs chest. âYou. You call me after twenty years of silence. I spent more time with out you than with you in my life and suddenly you want to crawl back to me? Give me one good reason why.â âI wanted to apologise.â Gavin burst into humourless laughter with the only purpose of ridiculing Elijah. âYou want to apologise? For what? For ditching me because father said I was trash too many times? For leaving me with that sorry excuse of a family as you went to college? For practically spitting in my face when you were the only family I ever had? Well, you are too phcking late!â
He had shouted the last sentence. Maybe he had shouted those before too, he couldnât know. He only felt his chest heaving already and his eyes dangerously filling with water from his anger.
âGavin, I know, I wronged you. And Iâm sorry.â âI donât care, Eli. I really donât. I cut them out of my life. I moved, I found a job, friends, a life. I have a new family now. I am happy now. I donât need a reminder of that time; I donât need your pity and I definitely donât need you. I donât want your apology and I donât want to be goaded into forgiving you and having to be miserable again. I would advise you to go and leave me alone.â It sounded like a threat, a dare to continue speaking. Elijah really didnât want to make it worse, but he didnât want to back down just now. âGavin. I understand your anger. I donât want forgiveness. I just want a second chance. I want to have a brother again.â
âMaybe you should have cared for me when I needed it then!â, Gavin shouted. âI donât need you now, I needed you twenty years ago!â âDo you think I didnât care about you back then?â, Elijah asked, fed up by Gavinâs stubbornness. âI did care about you! But you werenât the only one dad manipulated! God, I was just a kid, do you even think I realised what was happening to you?â âYou were thirteen!â âExactly! Everything I could think about were cool robots! Gavin, I believed what dad told me and you acting up and beating up your classmates really didnât help change that view!â Gavin didnât know what came over him. He only knew the next moment he had Elijah pressed against one of the glass walls, ready to throw hands. And it felt good.
-
>RK900, heâll kill him! He wonât. >He just came here to talk. Please, help him.
Nines had stood at his desk, watching both adult men shout at each other in the middle of a police station. Already he had made the connection the âbrotherâ Gavin had told him about had to be Elijah Kamski. He also knew they would sooner kill each other than mend old wounds. Once again it would be upon him to keep Gavin safe from his own temper.
So, when Gavin was about to throw the first punch, Nines stepped in and intercepted it, effortlessly grabbing both men by the collars of their shirts and marched on to the next empty interrogation room. He pushed Elijah on one of the chairs, nodding his thanks to Chloe, who kept the cursing man seated. He continued to do the same with Gavin on the other side. âAlright. You two will talk civilised now. If I hear another screamed word, Chloe and I will chain you to the table, leave and invite the whole precinct to watch in the adjacent room.â He fixed Elijahâs eyes until he nodded, then turned to Gavin, who looked more defiant. âUrgh fineâ, he sighed finally. âI donât get husband perks?â âNo.â
âAlright, Eli, what do you want to say?â, Chloe began. âI want to apologise. Iâm sorry I didnât see how you were treated at home and I hope we can try to begin anew.â âAnd what is your answer, Gavin?â, Nines took over. âI want to say that this is utter bullsh-â He stopped as Nines let the handcuffs dangle in front of his eyes. âI want to say that I donât believe a word and that I donât care about what he wants.â âWhy donât you believe him?â, Chloe questioned. âElijah Kamski is the richest man in the world, expecting to get even richer and has a mansion full of identical botsâ, Gavin spat, scowling at Nines the entire time, who just huffed amusedly. âHe can get anything he wants, why would he want to get back in contact with me of all people?â
âBecause I was reinserted as CEO of Cyberlifeâ, Elijah explained, watching the two androids intently, before turning back to Gavin. âIt is a new beginning for me and the company and I thought if Iâm already trying to get everything back in order, I could as well try to do so with my relationship with my brother.â âHeh, the first thing you said this day I want to believeâ, Gavin chuckled. Nines carefully looked towards Chloe, who seemed to have come to the same conclusion. Now that both men had cooled down a bit, they may finally be able to talk. âOnly that Iâm not some new product or change in politics. Iâm a bit more difficult to fix.â âI know. I still wanted to try.â âHowâs mom and dad?â, Gavin asked silently. âI donât know. You leaving so suddenly made me think about what happened. I didnât really cut them off, but I decided to use my work as an excuse not to meet with them. I havenât spoken to them in quite a while and I think they know I too donât want to have any contact.â âSo you learned eventually.â âI spoke to some of your friends. I donât think I know of everything that happened, but I think I know enough.â Gavin nodded. âSo, that second chance you spoke about. What do you want from me?â Elijah perked up, apparently not expecting Gavin to cave in. âI donât expect us to be best buddies again, but⌠Maybe some family dinners? You know, Christmas, birthdays⌠I want to be a part of your family again, Gavin.â âFine. Christmas, Ninesâ and my birthdays, yours. Weâll see how it goes from there. Deal?â âDeal.â
Both of them looked up to their respective android partners who stepped back from the table and watched them stand up. Both met in the middle, shook hands and exited the interrogation room. Back in the bullpen Gavin went straight to his desk, followed by Nines, while Elijah and Chloe left towards the exit. The whole room was still dead silent, and no one dared to say a word, until Tina couldnât keep her words in check.
âOkay, what the hell!â, she called through the bullpen. âGavin, why the hell did the Elijah Kamski showed up here, why did you assault him and why the fuck did you call him brother?â

A DEEPER LOOK
WHAT IS THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR FAMILY LIKE?:
It has always been difficult. Basically, Sapphire and Jett were âaccidentsâ and their parents were way too immature to take care of them. They are free spirits, they rid their motorcycle across the Road 66, they smoked god knows what and they ended up with two babies in their arms nine months later. They named their kids after their home states and gem stones, because they did not think this through. And because it sounded cool, cool like their lifestyle. Bessie never finished high school and worked as a cleaning lady while Elijah fixed and raced cars. Truth is, Bessie and Elijah were high school sweethearts, even worse. They grew up as neighbors and promised each other the whole world. They wanted a family, a pretty house, a dog, a hamster, the whole deal. They wanted to settle down. Elijah was ready for it, but not Bessie.
Bessie hated how similar to their dads the twins were. They looked just like him, they acted just like him. That can be due to the fact she was an escapist and, as soon as they were old enough to babysit themselves, she spent as little time with them as possible. It was harder on Saf than it was on Jett. Jett was more independent, while Saf was the total opposite. She wanted the perfect family everyone else had at school, but the fact her mother denied her this right broke her heart at a very early age. When the twins turned 15, their parents finally split. Bessie moved out and brought Jett with her. Elijah stayed at his workshop and kept Sapphire. The twins did not meet once during these three years, until they turned eighteen and took control of their lives. Saf applied for several colleges and universities and Jett followed his dadâs path and worked with him, raced cars for money and lived comfortably.
In brief, she has never seen her mother after her 18th birthday. She visits her brother and father on a regular basis, although she hates to see Jett turning into a replica of their mother. Living in Vesta helps her work on her dependency issues and cut ties with all the toxicity.
DESCRIBE THEIR PERSONALITY:
PSA: Iâve watched so many Counting Cars episodes this past few years that it gave me the impression I could pull off an edgy character who was all about driving fast and burnt tyres scent, but I really canât. So, if youâve watched High Fidelity and remember the What Fucking Lily Girl episode? Where Zoeâs character goes on so many rants about how she hates the name Lily, the boring, shallow, preppy and soft girl because Rob is ~cool~ so obviously these two canât mix together? Well, surprise, they can. And surprise x2, I am not original at all.
On the outside, Sapphire looks like a lonely soul, hard to approach, sort of judgmental. She can be found smoking a cigarette and staring into the void like sheâs deep into some philosophical argument with herself. She comes across as somebody who is not that sharp, whoâs brain has probably been intoxicated by car oil and burnt tyres and smoke.
On the inside, sheâs a total Lily girl. Sheâs got that ~ free spirit DNA ~ from her parents. Sheâs fun, yet she can be serious. Sheâs creative, yet she shows restraint. Sheâs caringt, yet she wonât let you take advantage of her. She loves the color pink, but she claims that her soul is black. She loves anything girly and delicate, but she can get her hands dirty and fight.
ARE THEY HAPPY WHERE THEY ARE IN LIFE:
Itâs really hard to tell. She likes her job, sheâs proud of her academic career. Meeting with all of these small humans at school keep her fresh and young, she likes that a lot. At the same time, she thinks that everything was simpler in Detroit, when she would spend all of her days at her Dadâs automobile repair garage, not even knowing what they will eat for dinner because they could not afford much. She sets her expectations so high for herself, in the hopes of never disappointing her family. sheâs preventing herself from truly enjoying her life and all of her accomplishments.
WHAT IS THEIR DREAM:
She wants to get wild in Las Vegas, once in her life. Go to Casinos, spend big amounts of money and win even more in slot machines, stay in crazy expensive hotels and get married in a walk-in chapel with a bad Elvis impersonator. She wants a glimpse of her parentsâ young wild and free sort of spirit.
She would like to open a clinic, one day. And to help more than just high school students.
