He knows that this younger Erik can't be held responsible for his future self's actions, but, nonetheless, here is the man who will paralyze him, who will leave him on the beach, who will turn his sister into a merciless killer. Here is the man who will betray him in the worst way possible, by using him as a tool, a weapon, in his quest to kill all the humans.

So Charles blows cool and hot towards Erik, and Erik is left wondering where all the UST went and why Charles is suddenly so...emotionally distant, even when they're spending more time together than they used to.

My first thought reading this question was a quote by @germanjj I’ve read a few days ago. It’s from And I’ll Watch:

“The earth tilts on its axis and Laurie goes down with it.”

Earthes tilting on their axises is an image I already like a lot in writing but the addition of the second part of the sentence made it extra beautiful and refreshing for me.

Music put aside I’d say... I have a lot of them actually. Sneakers running on a basketball field. The bouncing sound of a basketball. The blade of skates on ice. Grating fingers on acoustic guitar strings (not the actual notes, just the squeaking sound of the skin on strings). The sound of typing on a smooth keyboard. Rain and snow falling on skylights.
