German Shepherd Price in India: A Comprehensive Guide
The Ultimate Guide to German Shepherd Price: Uncovering the Breed's History, Temperament, and Characteristics
The German Shepherd is one of the world's most recognizable and beloved breeds. With their intelligence, loyalty, and protective nature, it's no wonder why they're often considered the ultimate companion. But where did this magnificent breed come from? What makes them tick? And what do you need to know before bringing a German Shepherd into your life?
History of the German Shepherd
The German Shepherd's origins date back to the late 1800s in Germany, where they were bred to herd sheep and protect flocks. Captain Max von Stephanitz, a German cavalry officer, is credited with founding the breed. He was impressed by the intelligence, strength, and loyalty of the dogs he saw working on farms and decided to create a standardized breed.
Temperament and Characteristics
German Shepherds are known for their:
Intelligence: Ranked among the top three most intelligent breeds, German Shepherds are easily trainable and thrive on mental stimulation.
Loyalty: German Shepherds are famous for their loyalty to their families and can become protective if they sense danger.
Confidence: German Shepherds exude confidence and courage, making them excellent companions.
Energy: German Shepherds are high-energy dogs that require regular exercise and mental stimulation.
Coat: German Shepherds come in three coat types: single, double, and long coat, with a variety of colors.
Health and Grooming
German Shepherds are generally a healthy breed, but like all breeds, they can be prone to certain health issues:
Hip Dysplasia: A genetic condition that affects the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia: Similar to hip dysplasia, but affecting the elbow joint.
Digestive Issues: German Shepherds can be prone to digestive issues, such as diarrhea and allergies.
Regular grooming is essential to prevent matting and tangling of their coat.
Training and Socialization
German Shepherds are highly trainable, but early socialization and training are crucial:
Puppy Training: Start training your German Shepherd puppy from an early age.
Socialization: Socialize your German Shepherd with people, other animals, and environments.
What Affects the Price of a German Shepherd?
The German Shepherd price varies depending on several factors, including:
Location: Prices differ across regions, with urban areas typically having higher prices than rural areas.
Breeder reputation: Reputable breeders invest in health testing, genetics, and care, increasing the price.
Bloodlines: Puppies from champion-line parents or with specific coat types (e.g., black German Shepherd) can be more expensive.
Age: Puppies are typically pricier than adult dogs.
Coat type: German Shepherds come in single-coat, double-coat, and long-coat varieties, affecting the price.

Ghost wants a dog. He's thought about it for a while, done some research, put out feelers. He's allowed to have a dog where he live, has a house to himself not five minutes from base. Waste of space, he used to think, but space enough for a dog.
He needs a big dog. He's a big lad. When some people think "big dog" they're thinking of a German Shepherd Good dogs, he's sure. But only 40 kilos, max. He needs something bigger, he thinks.
At first, he thought he'd like himself a Rottweiler. Hefty. Big bodied and boisterous. Easily trainable if you've got the time and the grit, both he figured he had in spades, so long as he wasn't on an op. But then he read about tail docking and, well... he couldn't bring himself to think about it any more. Those poor puppies, he thinks.
He goes home with Soap, visiting the MacTavish farm. They're friends, he wants to see the sheep, he tells Soap. Tells himself. He won't admit that he just wants to spend more time with Johnny.
The MacTavish's have Border Collies to herd their sheep. Practical. Cute, he likes the pups, but much too small for him. Not to mention intelligence to rival the rookies he had to whip into shape on base and tripple their energy. He wasn't sure he'd want to deal with that.
But while out, on their way into town, he saw it. A huge dog standing amongst someone else's flock, head heald high and nose in the wind. Soap knew the farmer from his childhood, drove them up the lane when he caught Ghost staring. Due to his staring, Ghost had missed the sign they passed, though Soap didn't. 'Pyrenees puppies 4 sale' it read.
The farmer smiled when he noticed John, the boy who left the fields to play soldier and came back a man. John introduced him as Lieutenant 'Ghost' Riley. Ghost rolled his eyes and stuck out his hand. "Simon. Saw your dog in the field, never saw one like it. Wanted to know more." A short introduction, straight to the point.
The response was the opposite. The farmer gave him what felt like his life's story. Took what seemed to Ghost to be a year before he got to telling him about the dog, a Great Pyrenees, apparently. A large bodied, heavy white coated livestock guardian breed. He had two, the one in the field was the sire, the dam was in the barn. As he spoke, he lead the two men towards that very barn.
The farmer entered first, to separate the mother from the pups, for their protection, he said. In the barn was a sight that melted the hardened Lieutenant into a puddle of goo: a litter of snow white, fluffy puppies. Huge puppies. Sticks and hay and debris were stuck all over their fluffy bodies, Simon picked out what he could from the pups as they wallered and slobbered all over him.
Soap took over speaking to the farmer as Ghost slowly accepted that he would never again have crisp black clothes. That everything in his future would be covered in white fluff. The life expectancy of his washer and dryer had just been halved, he suspected.
The farmer explained their personality: that females tended to be more protective, they'd be a home body, not exactly a jogging companion. Loyal but brutish, often misconstrued as lazy. The beast out in the field with the flock would lay about and let the sheep climb all over him, wouldn't even bother to get up if someone hopped the fence like. But if he heard a sound he didn't like, or saw another dog or a predator in the field, he'd let loose a bark that'd freeze a man's blood, and hunt the perceived threat down come hell or high water. "And you should see her in action," the farmer laughed and shook his head. "Almost killed the male over getting too close to his own pups. Protective to a fault. 'S why I had to turn her out, you see."
Ghost saw an oversized cotton ball trip over it's own feet as it tried to get to his fingers because it needed to be pet. It was the only one without any tan or grey patch. Ghost saw his future best friend.
The farmer started to explain that these pups ought to be sent off to other farms, they wouldn't do as family dogs, but John walked him out of the barn. Explained that the man they'd left behind had no family to speak of, needed something other than work to focus on, and if anyone were able to handle the instincts and behavioral issues of a livestock guardian without livestock, it'd be Simon. The farmer agreed, so long as he made sure to choose a male, for safety reasons.
The two drove off another twenty minutes later, after Simon had listened with rapt attention to the farmer detailing everything about what the pups had been through up to that point, and what he'd need to do moving forward to make sure his little guy was happy and healthy, Ghost holding young Spirit to his chest.
From that point on all of Ghost's belongings had long white fur and drool on them, courtesy of his personal polar bear.
On the day of their wedding their ring bearer was their own pseudo-bear, and nobody left the venue without drool or fur on their clothes.

Your pleasant dreams were rudely interrupted by the obnoxious blare of your alarm. Rubbing your tired eyes, you groggily turned over. Despite your boyfriend being on a regimented schedule, you could never relate. God you need to teach me your ways, Simon,” you said into your pillow, almost as if he was in the room. But as you got out of bed, you faced the disappointment that he was still on deployment. As you dressed for the day and fastened your hair into a bun, you tried to go over your agenda. The morning was filled with vet clinic planning and clinical meetings. You cringed at the thought. It was honestly the worst part of your day. After lunch, you had two patients to follow up with after some shrapnel wounds gained on the field. Just two German Shepherds who were always well obedient for you. You knew they’d be getting some treats today. Finally, your day ended with a combat fitness test. You had perfected this over the years and knew the handlers and canines were up to the challenge.
The morning had gone by slowly. You sipped your coffee as you exchanged ideas with the supply department and pharmacy. They were preparing for a month-long deployment and along with human patients, the pharmacy took care of the working dogs. After three hours of revising, you finally had a full plan and med list. You could feel your phone buzz but as you saw the examination room with a returning patient file on the door, you decided to look at it later. You took your time to examine the dog's coat and checked on the progress of her stitches. “She’s healing perfectly, private,” you smiled at her handler as you gave the canine a treat. She nodded before leading the dog out of the room. Just as you were about to check your phone, you ran into your other patient for the day. Hopefully it isn't something important, you thought to yourself as you gave a similar examination. With the final few sentences, you finished your charting for the day. You sighed contently but soon groaned at the gentle sound of your watch beeping. You closed your office door before running off to your final assignment for the day.
“Alright we’re done with combat PT for the week,” you commanded as your regiment of soldiers and canines relaxed. After two hours of running through the course and showing the basics of taking down an enemy, you felt like they were satisfactory for the time. This was one of your better commands and the dogs had performed beautifully. They would be ready in a matter of weeks, right on schedule. “Be sure to give your companions a treat before you return them home,” you said and the group dispersed. You stretched your tired limbs as you saw them walk back to base. “Just another day in the Veterinary Corps,” you sighed. You loved your job but you realized after a few years that it was more of a balance between training the working animals and their handlers along with the clinical side. You were in the middle of a 15-week-long session to prepare the dogs for the field and the handlers were giving you a headache.
You shielded your eyes from the fluorescent light as you entered the base. “Long day, Captain?” one of your techs asked and you nodded. “Only eight more weeks until I get my evenings back,” you smiled as you walked over to the office space. “I got a question for you,” he continued, smiling at you. “A few of us are going off base and“ Before he could finish, he stopped in the middle of his sentence. His gaze turned down the hallway as you heard heavy footsteps approach. “Lieutenant Riley,” he said officially and you turned to see Simon approaching. You smiled at him as you heard your tech quickly wish you a goodnight. “You’d think he saw a ghost,” you joked as he walked up to you. Despite his balaclava, his eyes crinkled with a smile. He shrugged and you avoided the urge to reach up and kiss his cheek. “You don’t answer your phone,” he observed and you remembered the text from earlier. “Sorry, long day,” you said sheepishly and he nodded as if you provided a satisfactory response.
“Didn’t realize you were back so soon,” you said and returned his smile. “Me either,” he replied, “found out this morning.” That must have been him this morning. You muttered an apology and he waved a hand passively. “Anyways, I got a surprise for you,” he said, a hint of cheer in his voice. You raised an eyebrow curiously. “You? You have a surprise for me?” you said in disbelief, “Must be a special day.” Simon shook his head at your antics, letting out a chuckle. He motioned for you to follow him and you walked in step. You made casual conversation about your current group in training and the good visits from some of your patients. “You still give them treats after?” he asked, shooting a glance at you. “Still do,” you said cheerfully “not much has changed in 3 months, Simon.” “You spoil them,” he joked back, rubbing a hand along his sore jaw. Must’ve been one hell of a mission, you thought. You continued chatting until you heard the familiar padding of footprints on the base floor.
“Is that who I think it is?” you said excitedly and soon your favorite partner came running towards you. The handler, also a close friend, tried to wrangle him but Riley slipped out of his grasp. In a flash of tan and black fur, Riley rubbed his head against your leg. “Riles! You’ve gotten so big,” you cooed as you brushed through his coat. Despite being named Riley out of his litter, you loved the almost human-like nickname. You petted him affectionately, bending down to greet your longtime friend. “Heel, Riley,” Ghost commanded and Riley sat down obediently. “Oh stop it, Lieutenant,” you responded, hitting Simon’s thigh and encouraging Riley to come back into your embrace. As you showered Riley in love and belly rubs, you heard Simon tell the handler that he would make sure you returned Riley at the end of the night. The private nodded and continued to his own quarters.
“You have enough puppy time?” Simon joked and you shot a look at him. “It’s never enough with Riles over here,” you said happily, continuing to pet him. “Riley did a great job on the field, Price was impressed,” he complimented and you couldn’t help but beam at his words. “Well Price should know I train the best of the best,” you remarked as you looked back down at the wagging dog, “and he is one of the best.” After another fifteen of you playing around and Simon getting in some pets of his own, it was time to bring Riley to the kennel. He looked tired but happy as you walked through the base. You held the unlatched leash in your hand as Riley obediently walked in between you and Simon. “Always such a good boy,” you hummed as both you and Simon brushed his fur.
When you reached the kennel, you quietly opened Riley’s cage to not wake the other animals. He turned around a few times, trying to find the most comfortable position. “If you come by tomorrow, Laswell is considering bringing Riley and Apollo on our next mission,” Simon offered, putting a hand on your shoulder as Riley laid down to rest. You waved to her before you checked all of the dogs were returned and happy. “I’d like that,” you smiled into his touch as you walked out, “Do you know how long you’ll be gone this time?” “Probably 6 weeks max if we get the job done,” he said gruffly, averting his eyes from you. Even after years of familiarity, Simon always hesitated to talk about the job. You nodded and closed the kennel for the evening. It was quiet as you walked back to your quarters.
“I won’t be leaving for another week,” he spoke up, voice echoing in the empty hallway. You turned to him with a smirk on your face. “Oh really?” you questioned, putting a hand on his cheek. His eyes flashed around but you laughed as it was late and the coast was most certainly clear. “I would enjoy some company, would you?” you flirted. Simon grunted but you were prepared to draw this out of him. “Hmm, what was that Lieutenant Riley?” you teased before he coughed out a sheepish “yes.” You teasingly beckoned him to follow you. He let out a dry laugh before following at your heels, just like a loyal companion.

Simon is def the type of boyfriend/ husband to adopt a big dog for your anniversary present (even though it's so self serving, he just wants you to have extra protection). He even puts a little bow on the pups collar when he's presenting you with the new edition to the family. (I can see him with a Belgian/ German shepherd, doberman or even a pit mix breed)
Good Boy
Oh my god, there is no way Simon isn't insisting his S/O doesn't have a dog once you've become an established couple.
I think the only difference I have from your HC is that he'd already have the pup trained and nearly at full size when he brings it home for the first time.
Naturally, he's got plenty of experience after having Riley for years. And spent a lot of time sneaking some of your dirty clothes out of the house to put in the dog's kennel while it's being trained. Accustomating it with your scent and connecting your smell with something that isn't used in training unless it's a drill relating your scent to an object needing protection.
Simon isn't particularly attached to the dog emotionally in the way you're going to be. But he's adamant that other than himself, you're the only other person who will know how to command the dog. It's a safety measure that you're going to be a little resistant to at first, but once he explains that it's so you're always safe -even when he's away- you understand that it's for the best. Simon wants a loyal protector for you, and he's not risking you for anything.
In addition to that, Simon really understands and employs "scary dog privilege" tactics often. Even using himself as the warden who follows you around in public and keeps too many eyes from lingering. The dog he brings home is most certainly intimidating, yet impossibly patient and gentle with you. It's designed that way though. Simon trained the pup to think of you as mom essentially, and his only role is to always protect mom.
When he brought your cane corso home, Simon had nothing but pride for the stoic and well-trained guard dog.
The only problem with this is, you're too damn loving for your own good.
Where Simon won't let the dog on the couch, you put your foot down and demand it gets to sleep at the foot of the bed where you can tuck your feet under it to keep warm. He refuses to feed it anything other than its regimental diet, where you love making lick-mats and trialing a bunch of different dog-safe foods almost like your own little cooking show. Simon refuses to pet the dog all the time, but it's almost given he's going to come home and find you curled up with the massive beast on the couch. You -dead asleep- and the guard dog looming over your curled-up form and giving a low, malicious, growl.
Until it realizes Daddy has come home.
Then the big bastard won't leave Simon alone long enough to take his boots off without getting covered in drool and enough hair to make a fur coat.
These are the kinds of pictures you send Simon, utterly destroying his own mental image of the terrifying dog charged with keeping you safe. You're quite amused when he demands you stop making the dog look so pathetic.

Dogs that Sylus and Zayne would have with MC
Sylus
Long-haired black German Shepherd named Bijou (French for "jewel" and also close to 美女, Japanese for "beautiful woman"). Sylus would name her this because he would give her collars with beautiful jewels on them and because something belonging to Sylus and MC deserves a fancy name :3
Sylus would pick this breed for its protective instincts and long history as police dogs. Even though he knows MC is capable of taking care of herself, it puts him at ease if she has Bijou and Mephisto with her
Bijou's dark coat lets her blend into the shadows of the N109 Zone easily and she would be trained extremely well to, not only protect MC, but to also alert Mephisto to danger, which he would eliminate using the weapons Sylus equipped on him
Bijou would be extremely pampered with the best quality beds, food, treats, etc. that money can buy, but she'd also gain a reputation in the N109 zone: Don't treat her like a pet or upset her owners. Her bite is every bit as strong as her bark
Zayne
American Eskimo named uh... Dipyridamole... Which is in the same category of medication as Clopidogrel, which is an antiplatelet agent or DAPT that "Keeps blood clots from forming by preventing blood platelets from sticking together". Don't ask me to explain further because I have no idea and neither would MC... Who would just call her Didi
Zayne would choose this name because he would play with her a lot as a puppy and Didi would have gotten used to the name before MC could name her something else. He would choose this breed because it's small enough to travel with and can come with him to the Arctic without having much of an issue with the cold
Didi's smaller size means that she doesn't need as much exercise as many other cold-loving dogs like huskies. With Zayne's and MC's busy schedule, their dog's exercise needs was definitely taken into account, but when both Zayne and MC start to incorporate Didi into their own daily runs, she gets more than enough exercise
She'd be well-cared for with Zayne monitoring her health and with frequent trips to the Arctic where she can roll around the snow as much as she wants

Shadows in the BAU
Pairing: Emily Prentiss x reader
Category: fluff
Emily Prentiss had always been a mystery to her team, but there was one person who added even more layers to that enigma—a person none of the Behavioral Analysis Unit had ever fully understood. Y/N had been visiting the BAU on and off for months, yet to this day, no one quite knew who she was or what she meant to Emily.
The first time Y/N appeared, it was in the middle of a particularly stressful case. She pulled up to Quantico on her motorcycle, the roar of the engine echoing through the parking lot. The team had noticed her immediately: tall, sharp-eyed, with an air of silent strength. Her long coat billowed in the wind as she dismounted, drawing eyes. A German Shepherd, who they’d later come to know as Ace, padded faithfully by her side, his soft brown eyes alert and watchful. But what stood out the most was the metallic gleam of the prosthetic leg Y/N moved so effortlessly with.
At first, her presence seemed almost incidental. She wasn’t dressed in a way that screamed “FBI.” She didn’t wear a badge or flash credentials. She never introduced herself to the team. But Emily always seemed to know when she arrived.
Whenever Y/N appeared, Emily would break from whatever she was doing, and the two would disappear into her office, exchanging quiet words with a familiarity that intrigued the rest of the team.
One day, during a particularly long case debriefing, Spencer Reid noticed her again, standing just outside the briefing room. The team was discussing their latest unsub, and Emily had been unusually quiet during the meeting. Y/N stood against the wall, her posture casual but her gaze focused entirely on Emily. The leather jacket she wore and the sleek motorcycle helmet tucked under her arm were in sharp contrast to the professional atmosphere of the BAU, yet she belonged in her own way—if only to Emily.
"Who is she?" Spencer whispered to Penelope Garcia, the team’s tech analyst, as they passed by the glass windows of the briefing room.
"I don't know," Garcia replied in her typical fast-paced tone. "She’s mysterious. I’ve tried running a search, but I get nada. Maybe she’s some kind of undercover agent? Or—" her voice dropped conspiratorially, "a secret girlfriend?"
Spencer shot her a skeptical glance, but he couldn’t deny his curiosity. No one knew the nature of Y/N’s relationship with Emily. And no one dared ask Emily outright.
Then there was the dog. Ace was always well-behaved, sitting obediently at Y/N’s feet whenever they stopped by. Sometimes Y/N would take him around the side of the building to walk, while other times she would sit on a bench outside, seemingly waiting for Emily to finish her work.
The strange visits continued. Some days Y/N would stay for an hour, other times it was mere minutes. And every time, the same pattern followed: Emily’s face would brighten the moment she saw Y/N. They would talk briefly, then Y/N would leave just as suddenly as she had arrived.
One afternoon, after an exhausting case involving a serial killer that had taken them across three states, the team was sprawled in the bullpen, catching their breath. Emily had just walked back in from another one of her mysterious meetings with Y/N when Derek Morgan, never one to shy away from asking the hard questions, leaned forward and raised an eyebrow.
"So, Emily," Derek began with a grin. "Your friend—Y/N? What’s the deal? You gonna keep us all in the dark forever?"
Emily froze for a second, her eyes narrowing. “She’s just a friend,” she replied casually, though her tone hinted at something deeper.
"That’s one hell of a friendship,” JJ teased, though there was no malice in her words. “She’s been coming around a lot. Are you ever going to introduce us?”
Emily’s jaw tensed for a moment before she sighed. "Y/N isn’t someone who likes attention. She’s more of a... private person."
Garcia, unable to contain her curiosity, chimed in. "Private? Emily, you bring a tall, motorcycle-riding mystery woman with a prosthetic leg and a dog who looks like he could outthink us all, and we’re just supposed to pretend this isn’t fascinating?”
There was a pause as Emily considered her next words, her expression softening. "Y/N has been through a lot. She doesn’t trust easily, and she has her reasons for keeping her distance. But she's important to me."
That was the first real hint Emily had ever given the team about Y/N. No one pressed her further, though they all exchanged curious glances.
Days passed, and the team went back to their routine, but the curiosity around Y/N lingered. Who was she? What had happened to her? Why did Emily speak about her with such caution, such care?
Then, one evening, everything shifted.
It was late—long after the office had emptied out. Emily was still there, hunched over paperwork, when she heard the familiar hum of a motorcycle outside. Y/N had arrived, but this time, there was something different in her posture, a stiffness that hadn’t been there before.
Emily looked up as Y/N entered the office, Ace padding in behind her. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the exhaustion of the day melted away.
“You didn’t have to come,” Emily said quietly, though her voice held an undeniable warmth.
Y/N shrugged, leaning against the doorframe. "Figured you could use the company."
Ace settled by Emily’s desk, his large head resting on his paws as he watched the two of them. There was a silence between the women, the kind that spoke more than words ever could.
Emily stood and crossed the room, her hand resting gently on Y/N’s arm. "You know," she began, "they're all dying to know who you are."
Y/N chuckled softly, glancing at the closed door of the office. "Let 'em wonder."
For now, it seemed, that would be enough. The shadows surrounding Emily and Y/N’s relationship would remain, for the time being, a mystery—one that perhaps only they could understand.
And as Y/N slipped away into the night, the team couldn't help but wonder: what kind of past did she share with Emily, and what made her the one person who could always bring a smile to their unit chief’s face?

The cold plastic chair was uncomfortable as he sat waiting restlessly in the small exam room with Gi his German Shepherd laying at his feet. Normally he loved bringing Gi to the vet for his monthly check up, it was the highlight of his month but today not so much. He sighed loudly once more before raising his arm to look at the black watch on his wrist. Thirty minutes, they’d been waiting thirty minutes already. Huffing softly he reached down to his vest and pulled his Velcro pocket open before swiping his personal cell phone out. He knew that they’d have to wait but he didn’t think it would take this long as he silently began swiping through all of the text notifications that he had received already since arriving here. Most were just from friends and family but one popped out to him that made his restlessness rise within him.
When are you going to be done with the vet for Gi? I’ve got a new lead on a cold case and I’d like the two of you to be my K-9 unit if I need it.
The text was from his friend Detective Han who worked in Cold Cases, they had worked previously together on another cold case and had been able to apprehend the killer thanks to Gi’s training. He was eager to work with Detective Han again but he sighed softly as his eyes darted around the small exam room once more.
Not sure yet. Vet hasn’t even come in to see us. Seungmin texted back with a frown gracing his face before he noticed the gray bubbles pop up at the bottom of the screen indicating that Han was texting him back.
Your girl has kept you waiting? Seungmin scoffed at the text from his friend before another text popped up from him. Are you actually gonna ask her out this time? Scoffing again at the text message he bit his bottom lip as anxiety spiked through him at the question from his friend. About a year ago the veterinarian office that the agency used for all of their K-9 units had welcomed a new veterinarian to their practice and ever since Seungmin had met you on that first exam he had fallen hard. It hadn’t been that hard since you were so sweet on him and Gi together but you also showed your emphatic and compassionate side whenever Seungmin brought up any concerns he had about Gi which you always reassured him about. Not to mention you were always so upbeat and bubbly whenever you saw them, Seungmin liked to think that it was because you always loved seeing him and Gi but realistically he knew it was because of your job and your bedside manner. But his skepticisms hadn’t stopped him from developing a crush on you that kept growing and growing whenever he would bring Gi for an appointment.
Just as he began typing out a response to his friend there was a knock at the door and he quickly slipped his cell phone into his vest as Gi lifted his head from the floor where he laid. Seungmin sat up straighter in the chair just as your head peered around the door with a bright happy but tired looking smile.
“Officer Kim, I’m sorry to keep you and Gi waiting so long.” You greeted him fondly as you walked into the room swiftly before shutting the door behind yourself. Seungmin nodded his head quickly as Gi stood from his spot and happily wagged his tail when he saw you come in.
”Not a problem.” Seungmin reassured you and grinned at him over your shoulder before swiping a hand over your forehead and tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear before turning back to the computer across the room from him. “Everything alright?” He asked socialably as his eyes raked up and down your body. You were dressed in a pair of light purple scrub pants and your doctor coat with your hair tied up in a ponytail.
”Oh yeah, it’s just been a little busy and chaotic today.” You said in a friendly reassuring tone as you smiled and waved over your shoulder at him. “We had a tiny ferocious chihuahua that got out of his cage and was running around the back just now. He likes to nip so the techs weren’t able to get close to him but I was able to grab him with a towel.” You told him and Seungmin chuckled softly at the story.
”Tiny and ferocious don’t seem to go hand in hand.” Seungmin said amused and you laughed at his words before turning around to him with a bright grin that sucked the air straight from his lungs.
”You’d be surprised, Officer Kim. I’m sure you’ve seen your fair share of tiny ferocious people.” You said as you continued to laugh. “I’ve even been called ferocious once or twice and I’m half your size.” You told him with a cheeky grin that made his heart thump heavily in his chest.
”You ferocious? Please.” He scoffed goodnaturedly and your grin widened even more as you stepped over to the waiting Gi.
“What do you think Gi? Do you think I could be ferocious even if your partner doesn’t?” You asked amused of the dog as you pet his soft fur, the dog huffed softly causing both you and Seungmin to laugh delightedly at the dog.
”He knows better than to go against what I say.” Seungmin says proudly while he watches you continue to pet Gi who happily accepts all of your attention.
”Mmhmm, whatever you say Officer.” You tease him and Seungmin grins widely as he feels a blush begin to creep up his neck. He ducks his head slightly as his eyes stay trained on you while you fondly talk to Gi in soft tones. “And how have you been Gi? Catch any bad guys lately?” Asked in a soft excited voice that causes Gi to wag his tail quickly causing you to chuckle softly before tapping your forehead to his. “What a good boy you are.” You coo at him and Seungmin has to clear his throat softly and shift in his seat as your words seem to affect him far more than he ever thought they would. “Alright Officer, get him up on the table please.” You instruct Seungmin as you stand from your crouched position before moving to the examination table and eagerly await for Seungmin to lift Gi.
Standing slowly from his chair Seungmin squats down before wrapping his arms underneath Gi and lifting him effortlessly onto the table for you. He notices your eyes widen slightly as you watch him lift Gi without any problems and he feels his blush creep up even higher on his neck. The fact that you were impressed by his strength made him feel a certain type of way and he couldn’t say it was a bad feeling. You quickly busy yourself with pulling your stethoscope from your neck and placing it in your ears before placing the bell against Gi’s chest.
Seungmin stands to the side not far from the table but far enough away that he wasn’t in your way as you worked. You easily recorded all of Gi’s vitals and then began running your hands along his body feeling for any discomfort on the dog or any lumps that were out of place. Seungmin watched as you quietly talked to Gi while examining him and he felt his heart begin to race with affection for you as you effortlessly and kindly looked after his partner. Gi was so much more to him than just his K-9 partner and you seemed to understand that as you examined the dog. You always showed such great care towards Gi that it pulled at Seungmin’s heart strings and made him fall harder for you, Gi was like a piece of his soul and the way you gently and fondly cared for him made Seungmin feel as if you’d do the same with him.
”Alright so nothing to worry or be concerned about. His vitals were all normal and within range of his prior vitals. I’ll send over the results to the agency later on today when I do all my closing notes on my patients today.” You told Seungmin over your shoulder and the man stepped closer as you cupped Gi’s face gently. “You’re such a good pup Gi. Always a good boy for me.” You coo at him before pressing a loud kiss to his wet nose. Seungmin stares with wide eyes knowing that the visit is coming to an end and he still hasn’t mustered up the courage to ask you out like he’s been dying to do for months now. He managed to gather a little of confidence and felt his chest puff up with bravado, he was going to do. He was going to ask you out for dinner.
Just as you turned away from Gi and faced Seungmin you beamed up at him and he felt his confidence instantly deflate. He was so flustered in the face of your attention, it was maddening that he couldn’t follow through with asking you out. You tilted your head to the side as you watched his shoulders slump slightly and a look of concern fell over your face.
”Are you alright Seungmin?” You asked softly as your hand came up to rest on his forearm. It was the first time you’d called him Seungmin this visit, you always managed to slip his name into a visit each time and every time he heard you say his name he would feel his heart race.
”I’m-I’m okay.” He replied just as softly as he nodded his head at your question. You stared at him for a few seconds more before there was a sudden whine from Gi which caused both you and Seungmin to turn to him with worry. Gi sat there holding his paw up as if it hurt him and Seungmin watched as you instantly came to the dog’s side cooing at him. Gi’s eyes darted over to Seungmin and Seungmin swore he saw the dog blink at him twice, it was their signal with each other to indicate that they were moving whenever they had to be quiet on a call.
“Actually I’m not alright.” Seungmin began as he stepped closer to you as you continued to hold Gi’s paw who quickly shook you off his paw and began happy dancing on the exam table. You stared at Gi with furrowed eyebrows at his sudden change before turning to Seungmin confused. “I’ve been suffering from a crush on you and the only thing that will save me is if you went to dinner with me.” Seungmin said seriously as his eyes darted around your shocked face which then blossomed with a wide grin on your face.
”Oh so you two are in cahoots huh?” You asked him softly as you leaned towards him and he smirked softly at your teasing question.
”Well, he is my partner.” Seungmin said and you chuckled softly. “What do you say? Will you save me from my illness?” He asked softly and you smirked at him.
”I’ll do ya one better Officer.” You told him sultrily before leaning even closer and pressing a kiss to his mouth. Seungmin kissed you back quickly as his hand came up to cup your face gently causing you to moan softly before pulling away with a flushed face that delighted him. “Here’s my number, let me know when you’re free and we’ll go out.” You said to him as you handed him your business card.
On their way out of the veterinarian office Seungmin proudly smiled down at Gi who walked at his side. The dog was happily strutting out of the office as he was proud of himself too with his tongue lolling out of his mouth.
”I think you deserve a reward for helping me out Gi. How does McDonald’s sound?” He asked the dog with a chuckle as Gi began hopping and dancing around his feet excitedly. “Good boy.”

Will Graham x reader - non traditional family
Will with a reader who loves dogs just as much as him and brings home a rescue dog that had been treated really bad in its previous home and them just trying to get the dog to trust them, if you’re willing to write for it that is <3 - @panic-in-the-multiverse 💜
Sitting in the doorway to the bathroom, you smiled a little to the dog that was sat in the far corner of the room, head down watching you from the corner of his eye.
“Here Hugo.”
You placed a treat on the floor and slid it over to him, and he shuffled back a little bit, cautiously sniffing it.
You had set up a barricade to stop the other dogs from coming over, but you did get up, closing the bathroom door and made your way over with some treats for them.
You scratched behind their ears, giving them all treats, not bothering to look up as the front door was opened.
“Why is half the house sectioned off?” Will asked.
“I did a thing. And these guys can’t come into the area yet.”
Will looked at you as he shrugged his jacket off, petting all the dogs as he made his way through them all.
“What did you do?” He asked.
He stepped over the stairgates that you had put up around the place to keep the other dogs away from the bathroom.
You placed your hand on his chest, making him stop in his tracks, and you brought your hand up to his head, touching the bandaid that was on his forehead.
“What’s happened love?” You asked.
“Suspect charged at me, he hit my head of the wall. It’s fine.”
You slowly nodded your head, brushing some hair away from his face.
Will stared into your eyes for a moment before he leant down, and you met him halfway to kiss him.
He placed his hand on the back of your head to hold you in place before he moved away, pressing his forehead to yours.
“It’s fine..” he mumbled.
“I worry…”
“I know. Are you going to tell me what you did?”
You kissed the corner of his mouth and held out your hand to him, letting him decide if he what he wanted to do, and he placed his hand in yours.
You led him over to the bathroom, hovering your other hand over the door handle.
“Gotta keep quiet, he’s scared.”
“He?”
You slowly opened the door, and you sat back down in the doorway.
Will looked at the dog that had laid down, still facing the door.
He crouched behind you, resting his arms on his knees.
“What’s his name?”
“Hugo, he’s a rescue from work, he came in today. He was caged constantly, and was being trained as a fighting dog, we believe he’s a German shepherd but we can’t be sure until his coat grows back properly, but he’s got all the features of one.”
Will nodded his head.
“His health?”
“A little malnutrition, some wounds that need healing, and he was covered in ticks, but we vaccinated him today, he doesn’t have fleas, and he’s not aggressive to other dogs just scared.”
Will reached down into the pocket of your sweater, pulling out a couple a treats.
He sat against the other part of the doorframe, sitting opposite you, his legs over yours.
He leant over, setting a treat on the floor and pushed it over slightly while you just watched, taking mental notes of Hugo’s behaviour.
Will glanced over at you, watching as you studied the new addition to the pack, and he turned back to Hugo.
“How long has he been here?”
“Since this afternoon. He came in this morning but couldn’t handle being in the kennel.”
Will nodded.
“Have you eaten?”
“No, but I did bring some food home. I forgot to make dinner though, sorry.”
Getting up, Will brushed his hand over your shoulder, making his way into the kitchen.
“I can’t see you.”
You moved to the side he was sat on, and sat further into the hallway so he was able to see you from where he was stood.
You smiled softly at him.
“So, what did you do today?”
“You don’t want to know.”
You laughed softly.
“I do, you know I do. I like hearing about your day.”
Will glanced up from where he was stood and went back to preparing the food, telling you about his day.
He went front start to finish, leaving out anything that seemed a little too intense, and you just sat there listening to him, occasionally checking on Hugo.
You ate there, and when it came to going to sleep, you closed the door again, making sure the other dogs couldn’t get in.
Making your way over to the bed you stood at the side of it and Will looked up from his book, smiling slightly at you.
“Are you coming to bed?” He asked.
Will knew full well what you were waiting for, and he just sat there waiting for you to say it and you stood there stubbornly for a few minutes.
After being stubborn your finally sat on the bed next to him, lifting his arm so you were able to get under it, resting your head on his chest.
Will dropped his arm over your shoulder, putting his book in his other hand, resting his hand on your head.
“Are you staying home tomorrow?”
“Do you want me to?”
You nodded a little.
“Okay, I’ll stay. What do you have planned?”
“Nothing really, we both have the day off, and I’m lazy and don’t want to go anywhere.”
“Well, how about ice fishing? Will you come with me if I go?”
“You know I will love.”
Will smiled a little to himself, turning his attention back to his book while you just laid over him, moving every so often.
Now you were laid with your back on his chest, his hand in yours resting on your stomach.
Will was asleep, and you were still awake, unable to sleep, you hadn’t been able to sleep for a few hours, so you finally got up.
You kissed the side of Will’s head, making your way off the bed and grabbed one of his jackets, pulling it on and you made your way towards the bathroom.
Opening the door, you stepped inside and laid down on the other side of the room to Hugo who was watching you.
You smiled at the dog, and rested an arm under your head to try sleep in there.
Thankfully you did after a short while.
Will wake up from a nightmare, and he searched around the bed for you and he shot up when he couldn’t find you.
“(Y/N)?”
Will stood up, throwing the sheets from the bed.
“(Y/N)?!” He whisper yelled.
He checked the couch to see if you went to sleep on there, knowing sometimes you would go there if you couldn’t sleep.
You weren’t in there so he turned to the kitchen, making his way over he stopped by the bathroom and opened the door.
He turned the light on and Hugo shot up from being laid in the middle of the floor and went back over to the other side of the room.
You grumbled a little bit and he turned the light back out.
Will laid down next to you, his arm over your waist.
“Sorry…” he whispered.
He touched his forehead against yours, closing his eyes again and you brought your hand up to run it through his hair.
“Nightmare…?”
He nodded his head, you rolled on to your back, lifting his head to rest it on your shoulder.
“It’s okay…” you whispered.
You and Will went out the next day, leaving a shirt that belong to you both in the bathroom for Hugo, and you carried on sleeping in there with the dog.
You did everything you needed to earn his trust, slowly letting him meet the other dogs, letting him explore every so often.
“I think we should get another dog.”
“Really?” Will asked.
“Yeah, you can never have too many dogs.”
Will looked at you from where he was stood at the other end of the bed.
You grinned at him.
“You’re only saying that because you’ve all taken over the bed.”
You ran a hand over Hugo’s head as he laid next to you, holding your other arm out for Will.
“There’s always room for you.”
“It’s fine, I’m going for a walk. Will you be alright here?”
“Have you seen our dogs? Of course I will.”
Will walked over, leaning down to gently kiss you, and he walked over to the door, whistling and all the dogs aside from Hugo ran after him.
“Will that’s not fair!”
You got up, walked over to where he was already holding out your jacket for you.
You pulled your shoes on and slipped into your jacket, calling for Hugo who nervously came padding over.
“I knew you’d come.”
“You took my dogs…”
“Your dogs? I didn’t know my dogs were your dogs.”
Will opened the door for you.
“What’s yours is mine love.”
He hummed a little bit, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he trailed behind you.
“Does that mean that whatever you have is mine then?” Will asked.
“Yup.”
You carried on walking, occasionally throwing a snowball for the dogs to chase and will just kept a close eye on you and Hugo

Hi, it is a me with yet another dog questions since you seem to have relevant experience!
I just got a chihuahua puppy from the humane society (somewhat unexpected; PUPPY was expected but Chihuahua wasn't, long story) and he and my big 90lb German Shepherd have been getting along very well through crates and pens, but I'm afraid of him getting squished by accident if they hang out together directly. How do your chis and the dobermans get along? What safety precautions do you have going? Anything I should know as a new chi owner? (I'm guessing early tooth maintenance is a must, based on my last small dog, and we have a coat for cold mornings due to being uninsulated by nature)
thanks :)
Oh, congrats on joining the tiny dog army! Glad to see my propaganda working in action 🫡
As far as safety goes, I don't allow offleash or unrestricted access (ie, without a gate) until I am 100% sure that the significantly larger dog will be appropriate. When Tater is 2.5lbs and Fenris is inching towards 80, I simply refuse to chance him stomping her in play because I'm pretty sure he'll break every single one of her ribs.
For a very long time, the smallest dog in the equation gets to control how an interaction goes. This helps teach the big dog how to read signals and also to stop and think before acting. I remove the problem immediately if there is stomping, pouncing, or chasing behavior. For an older big dog, I teach the big dog to lay down and let the little dog approach for interaction rather than the other way around.
As far as how they get along- initially it was rough, because Fenris likes to pounce and the chihuahuas do not like to be pounced by such significantly larger animals. I did apply the use of an ecollar as I had tried a few other methods and he did not seem to be understanding the idea of "stop chasing down the chihuahuas to stomp on them all the time" so instead Thor reached down from the heavens to whisper into his ear the divine message of "STOP CHASING THE FUCKING CHIHUAHUAS". All that other work we did however began to shine through after a few sessions with the ecollar, and now he does not chase the chihuahuas. We went from the chihuahuas hiding whenever they saw him coming, to them being willing to approach and interact with him of their own volition.
He is still pretty obsessed with them but he is an obsessive dog in general. He is friends with Fae and they play wrestle as long as he remembers not to punch her. She will approach and instigate biteyface, and they cuddle together on the couch. She's always been my big dog in a tiny body, so it makes sense that she's pretty OK with him now that he's not actively hurting her (accidentally).
Tater does not like him but Tater takes a very long time to warm up to any big dog. Except Creed whom she loved right away, Tater used to hate Sushi and never got over her hatred of Phoebe. She is- sometimes- willing to use the favored dog bed if he is on it. More likely she will march up to him and bat screech at him until he moves off what she has deemed her spot. He very much wants to be friends with her so he will pull out all of the "please play with me I am such a cute puppy baby" tricks and she wants nothing to do with it. Earlier today she was tolerating him licking her ears- until he started to lick hard enough to knock her off balance and then she was done with him. She's just very small, and he is very big compared to her.
She does eventually warm up to a big dog- she wanted companionship and Fae was on her throne (the couch) and Tater can't get up there by herself so she came to sit and doze next to Sushi. She used to treat Sushi the same way she treats Fenris right now, so I think with time she will be less annoyed by him, but she still doesn't actually *like* Sushi more than she just tolerates the fact that Sushi shares the house.

My own personal Hybrid AU??? (Also, Omegaverse). Chock full of my own personal headcanons and ideas. Unorganized/kind of rambling, really just trying to put all my thoughts to paper.
PART 1 CUZ ITS LONGER THAN I THOUGHT IT WAS GONNA BE 💀
German Shepherd and Border Collie mix/Shollie hybrid/alpha Soap, and gray wolf and Great Pyrenees mix/wolfdog hybrid/trans omega Ghost. Great Dane and Bloodhound mix hybrid/beta Yuri. (Weredogs, puppy Ghost, puppy Soap, and puppy Yuri teeheehee).
(Simon has their ears cropped and tail docked (and not by choice). It’s ears and tail were severely mutilated, when tortured and held captive by Roba. They had no choice but to crop and dock their ears and tail, as they were disfigured beyond repair. He has metal/silver canine teeth, black and white alternating/“domino” nails/claws, and a pink nose and paws pads. Scarred all over,—but more distinctive features include; a scar across it’s lips (that it got while being tortured and being held hostage by Roba). A large crooked and broken nose, (having never healed quite right and has been broken countless times). A nick/scar across the bridge of their already mangled nose, (if their punched or smacked from just the right angle when wearing their hardshell mask, it cuts into them, (the wound/scar often being reopened and never being allowed to heal). Johnny carries around a few extra masks or balaclavas and extra gauze in his med pack just for when this happens, as he knows they hate the smell of blood and the feeling of it soaking their mask, (it’s a sensory thing that drives them nuts). It has a scar that cuts across the side of it’s cheek, cutting down through the jawline, and stopping at the side of it’s neck, (it got it while being held at knifepoint, the jackass went as far as to flay a good patch of it’s skin off). As well as, a large, jagged scar that wraps around their neck, (they got this after they nearly had been choked to death with some barbed wire). (Which permanently fucked up it’s mating gland and it’s most important scent gland. Since then, their hormones have been out of wack, and their heats are almost always irregular. It’s scent has been forever tainted. Instead of their previously sweet smell,—a combination of vanilla, lavender, and chocolate.—It’s scent is now similar to a mixture of rotten flesh, blood, and gasoline. (Though it hasn’t deterred their boyfriend one bit 💖). Not to mention, the barb wire had dug so deeply into their throat at one point, that it severed a few of their vocal cords. They have a characteristically hoarse and raspy tone to their voice because of that). He wears a heavy steel chain collar, with a silver tag that states its name, callsign, task force, rank, and blood type. They’ve got an identical chain leash to match too. It's eyes are positively striking, one is a honeyed brown, while the other is an icy blue. It’s fur is long, and is fluffy and/or downy, but equally coarse and wiry. They have a pure snow white coat that requires a shit ton of regular grooming, as it easily gets matted or dirty. Ghost uses purple shampoo to maintain the color of his coat).
(Johnny has nicked ears, one ear is pointy, while the other never really perked up, and is half-floppy/flopped down. Although he’s littered with scars,—new pink ones and white old ones,—he’s got some particularly distinctive ones; a scar from a bullet wound on his shoulder (from when he’d been shot by Graves), his scarred temples (from when he had nearly been killed by Makarov). The scar on his chin (which he got when he was a teen, at his lowest, self-harming). He's got a ring-like scar that wraps around one section of his tail, with tufts of fur missing. The scar cutting through his eye, (which he got when his abusive mother threatened him with a kitchen knife, in the midst of a particularly heated and escalating verbal fight. An altercation ensued, and as he attempted to disarm her/snatch the knife away from her, she slashed him with it, and it just so happened catch his eye. The witch was hardly remorseful, even after he’d gone blind in that eye, (though it definitely could’ve gone way worse). As well as, past s/h scars all over his thighs, arms, and shoulders. His scent is a concoction of pine, tobacco, and whiskey, and weirdly more pleasant than the average alpha’s scent. He wears a rope collar with a gold tag that says his name, callsign, task force, rank, and blood type, with an identical rope leash to go along with it. He’s got long, soft, and silky fur, that requires a bit of upkeep. Regular brushing and bathing usually does the trick just fine. His coat is sabled and tricolor, dark brown, charcoal black, and off-white. One of his eyes is a beautiful ocean blue, deep, vibrant and full of life. The other is discolored, a baby blue, shallow, lifeless,—but will somehow stare into your soul. He’s also got one metal/gold tooth/canine, white claws/nails, and a marbled pink and black nose and paw pads).
(Yuri's ears are cropped (by choice,—when his large ears were floppy, they’d get in the way all the time). His tail remains natural. His ears are pierced, one ear has one gold earring, while the other has two that are silver. He's smooth-coated, with a black, white, and ash-brown harlequin coloration. He has black claws, and a black nose. His paws/paw pads are heavily scarred, (acid burns), with fur missing. He also has quite a few scars from bullet wounds. His scent is a faint smell, and is a blend of eucalyptus, old books, and blueberries. His eyes are a grayish-blue, a bit dull, but pretty. All of his teeth and fangs are made of metal/steel. He wears a white leather studded collar, with a studded white leather leash to match. His collar has a patch on it that states his name, task force, rank, and blood type).
Gaz and Roach are Werecats, (kitty Gaz and kitty Roach hehehe). Kyle is a Panther hybrid, and a omega. While Gary is a Lynx hybrid, and a beta.
(Gaz has two particularly nasty claw marks over the center of his back and chest, and a single knick in the tip of one of his ears. They got the claw marks on their back and chest when a sparring match between them and Roach went terribly wrong. While, he got the knick in his ear from a bullet just barely missing their target, and grazing him. They have gold and silver canine teeth, white nails and claws, as well as a black nose and beans. Kyle’s eyes change color between forms and when shifting. Hazel normally, but full-on amber when in feline form. He has a beautiful sleek and silky, waterproof, jet-black coat, (though their spots are more pronounced than that of the average Panther). He also has very tough claws that can shred through just about anything. Their scent is an amalgamation of citrus, peppermint, and freshly brewed coffee).
(Roach’s got a pretty unique scar that covers their nose and the tip of their muzzle, as well as, a diamond-shaped scar over their Adam’s apple. They got the scar on their muzzle from a grenade exploding dangerously close to their face and badly singeing them. While, the diamond shaped scar is something they got when they had been captured by enemy forces, and were tortured for information. Because they wouldn’t talk, the torturer removed their vocal cords. “If you won’t speak, you might as well never speak again”. They had always been a person of few words,—and were promptly stripped of the very few words they did have. One of Gary’s ears is tipped/cut (and not of their own volition). Before they joined the 1-4-1 and prior to climbing the ranks, they were bullied harshly by their superior officers and taken advantage of. They were beaten up, called names, etc. Their callsign "Roach" was even originally a way to mock them and degrade them further. Eventually, they had enough and decided to stand up for themselves, and that was when they held them down and tipped their ear. Not only physically harming them, but humilating them by marking them as a feral cat, as one last hoo-rah. Thankfully, they're much better off nowadays with their current squad. They feel at home in the 1-4-1. They've also begun to see that their name isn't something to be ashamed of, but rather proud of. As it shows that they're one tough sucker to kill,—a tricky bastard. They’re a bit snaggletoothed,—some of their teeth are chipped. One of their canines has the tip broken off of it, while another one of their canines is metal/silver. They have white nails/claws, and a marbled pink and black nose and paw pads. They have massive paws and strong legs. Their eyes are a gorgeous emerald green, and really stand out. Their coat is a mix of grey, brown, black, and off-white, spotted, soft and fluffy.—But long, and requires regular care and grooming. (Fortunately, Gaz and them groom each other 💖). Their scent is a faint smell, but a fusion between butterscotch, vinegar, and freshly done laundry).
