AU Ask Game
GerEng Werewolf AU
Because I love me some werewolf!Arthur.
Basically, Ludwig used to be a vet, but after a really bad experience or perhaps a chain of bad experiences he decides that maybe being a vet isn't for him. A little lost, he moves into a little cottage just outside of town, right next to the forest. He starts living his best cottage core life with his dog.
He's settled into his new life, but then something comes crashing in to disrupt all that. On the night of a full moon, a huge wolf comes wandering into Ludwig's backyard. The poor thing is injured, looking near death so Ludwig tries to help it. Though he primarily worked with pets, he learned to treat an array of animals, including wildlife. He wraps the now collapsed wolf in a blanket and tends to the wolf's wounds
When done, he gives it shelter in his shed (probably not safe and should not be done, but for plot suspend your disbelief). When he comes to check on the wolf in the morning, he instead finds a naked man who has the exact same injuries as the wolf did. Ludwig is freaking, wondering what he should do, what this means. But the man wakes up, cutting that freak out short.
"Where am I?" the man asks, dazed.
"My shed."
"Wha--I--"
"Are you a werewolf?" Ludwig blurts out.
"How absurd."
"Funny considering I left a wolf here last night in that exact blanket and attended to those exact wounds."
The man concedes that yes he's a werewolf, but Ludwig has to keep it secret. He intoduces himself as Arthur.
Though Ludwig is wary of how much he can trust Arthur he offers to give him breakfast and some clothes. The clothes are bit big, but they'll work. And Arthur is very thankful for the food.
But over breakfast Ludwig tries to squeeze more information out of Arthur, about who Arthur is and about werewolves in general, but Arthur is very secretive and quickly gets annoyed.
"Maybe I should take you to a proper doctor," Ludwig tries to offer, but Arthur shuts him down.
"What do you mean no?" Ludwig asks, "You're hurt and I'm no doctor."
"You did just fine. I can't have them possible picking up on the whole...you know...People finding out is what got me into this mess." Arthur quickly realizes he said a bit too much. But luckily Ludwig let's it go (for now).
"What do you plan on doing now?" Ludwig questions instead.
Arthur is quiet for a moment. "I'm not sure...Maybe look for more of my kind? We're wolves, we like being with others I guess."
"You guess."
"You ask too many questions."
Ludwig decides to drop all the questioning finally and tells Arthur he should stay here until his wounds heal. Arthur reluctantly agrees.
Arthur tries to cook breakfast the next morning to thank Ludwig for his kindness and almost burns the kitchen down. From that day on, Arthur is banned from the kitchen (until Ludwig learns that Arthur can bake then Arthur is only allowed in the kitchen to bake)
Some time goes by, the two settle into a life together, Arthur is getting stronger every day, but neither wants to admit that soon Arthur can set out on his own again.
Originally I had this next part taking place a few days after Arthur and Ludwig met but it didn't fit for how injured I made Arthur and I felt it was a bit rushed. So it's happening more like a month or two later.
Anyway, someone makes a comment about how much meat Ludwig is buying (werewolves need extra meet in their diet) and Ludwig covers by saying he got another dog. And Arthur gets a little offended by this and is pouty for the rest of the day leaving Ludwig confused.
Eventually Ludwig asks what's wrong.
"Don't know why you're asking a dog," Arthur barks.
"So that's what this is all about? It was a cover." Writing this out I just thought of something. What if Ludwig used the cover a few times or Ludwig has said things that compare Arthur to other canines and Arthur gets annoyed each time but Ludwig doesn't really pick up on the signals. So Ludwig goes onto say "Why are you so antsy about that?"
"Shut up. I don't want to talk about it?"
"Don't start getting pissy with me. You can leave any time you want. You're practically good as new."
"Then why haven't you kicked me out?"
"Because I'd miss you." Ludwig immediately regrets letting that slip and both are stunned into silence.
"Miss me?"
Ludwig admits from day one he thought Arthur was beautiful and over the month or two they've lived together, Ludwig loves Arthur deeply and fears losing him and being alone again.
Arthur admits he's grown attached to Ludwig as well and would like to stay if he's allowed.
And it's just two lonely men finding comfort in each other. Arthur learning to accept himself as a werewolf (because he's kind of resentful about that fact) and Ludwig deciding what he wants to do with his life (go back to being a vet or trying something else) (can't decide if I want him to go back to being a vet or try a different path)
And...yeah. That's what I've got for that au so far.

AHHHHHHH
This was lovely to wake up to. Don't worry punk Arthur gives me life too and also Francis with long hair is *chefs kiss*. Also, Ludwig's find look so good!!!
These are so good ahhhh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These three supernatural boys based on @koolkat9 s AU. This is probably not exactly what the look like (especially because I was in yet another long-haired Francis mood and because Punk Arthur gives me life). Since I am on mobile, I can’t tag the fics right now but I’ll try to fix that later.

A Vampire, A Werewolf and A Merman and Blood Drinking
I really am running out of titles... Anyway happy late Halloween!
Rating: T
Relationship: Gerfruk
Word Count: 1056
Author's Note: minor depictions of blood. Also Grammarly was down so this has zero editing, but I was already so late with it I said screw it.
Read on AO3
Francis was starving. Winter was never easy to find food, but he couldn’t recall a winter this rough to the point he could barely stand for long periods of time. He had been scraping by with come mice he had found taking shelter in the shed, but he was pretty sure he cleared the last one out the previous week. Animal blood was not the most sustainable, and the smaller the animal, the less the blood.
Getting weaker and weaker, Arthur and Ludwig began to catch on.
“You’re not going to go on like this,” Arthur stated, grabbing Francis’s arm.
“That’s why I’m going hunting.” Francis bit back. His patience had been thinner this past week.
“Francis…” Ludwig piped up, “Are you sure it’s wise to go out like this. You’re swaying.”
Francis gripped at the door frame, steadying himself. “I’ll be fine. I don’t have much of choice anyway.”
“Feed off me.”
Francis’s gaze snapped towards Arthur. “Quoi?”
“Feed off me? Is your hunger making you go deaf too?”
“You know I made a vow to never drink human blood.”
Arthur smirked. “Lucky for you I’m not human.”
“This isn’t even up for discussion Arthur, now let me go.”
Ludwig and Arthur tried to protest further, but Francis just strode out the door.
— — —
Francis dragged himself through the door, stomach empty, legs barely keeping him up.
“You’re feeding off of Arthur,” Ludwig said sternly as Francis entered the living room.
“What are–”
“We couldn’t sleep knowing you could very well pass out somewhere out there,” Arthur interjected, “And then the sun would rise and–”
“I get the picture,” Francis hissed.
Ludwig rose to his feet, taking Francis into his arms to steady him. “Francis,” his voice carried as if lecturing a child, “You’re going to hurt yourself further if you keep this up. I know you’re scared, but Arthur has his werewolf strength. If you go too far, he’ll stop you. I’ll stop you.”
Francis searched Ludwig’s eyes, they were hard with determination, but still comforting. Francis gripped at Ludwig’s arm. “Okay…” he breathed.
He hobbled over to the couch and seated himself next to Arthur. Francis went to grab his wrist, but Arthur instead climbed on his lap and bore his neck to him. “I’d say we’re far too intimate for the wrist love,” he teased.
Normally, Francis would tease back at the suggestiveness of the comment, but in his brain was just static noise. He couldn’t think about this. He couldn’t back out.
A sweet scent wafted off of Arthur. Had he always smelt that good? Francis’s mouth was watering.
Arthur braced for the prick, eyes squeezed shut. Francis could hear how fast Arthur’s heart was beating. He licked at the skin of Arthur’s neck, feeling his lover’s pulse. Deep breath in then out, he bore his fangs and pierced the skin.
Blood rushed into Francis’s mouth. It was sweet, surprising considering Arthur was so bitter. Though perhaps the sweetness was from all those desserts he could never say no to. Either way, it was far more delicious than animal blood. He sucked at it eagerly.
Arthur gasped before it turned into a soft moan. His body filled with a cozy kind of heat, a fog setting over his mind the more Francis drank. It had been awhile since he got high, but it felt just like this. He bit his lip, refusing to let Francis know just how good he felt, but he couldn’t help but grip at the vampire’s coat and hair.
The room started spinning, Arthur leaned further into Francis’s embrace, eyes fluttering closed, lips parting with a breathy moan. It was getting harder and harder to focus and keep himself under control.
Francis just kept drinking and drinking. He hadn’t tasted anything so delectable since he got turned. Animal blood, though it kept him full in most cases, it never tasted good. Not bad per say, but he never got pleasure out of feeding like he did when he was human eating human food. But the taste of Arthur’s blood…It wasn’t of human food, but it was…intoxicating. He couldn’t stop himself even though he was getting fuller quicker than he ever did on animal blood.
Ludwig watched intently as his two lovers lost themselves. Arthur was growing deathly pale, but Francis wasn’t stopping. Arthur wasn’t stopping him.
He let it go on for a few more minutes before finally intervening. “Okay that’s enough,” he warned, but it only fell on deaf ears. He pleaded some more before shaking Arthur’s shoulder.
“Arthur,” Ludwig begged, though he tried to keep his voice hard, “You need to snap out of it. Please.”
The words seemed to reach deep within Arthur. Eyes cracking open, he looked towards Ludwig. “Lud…” he rasped.
Arthur finally blinked out of his daze and pushed Francis off him and scrambled off his lap. Woozy, he almost fell, but Ludwig caught him.
For a moment, Francis looked confused, even angry before coming back to his senses to see just how pale Arthur now looked. A horrified look crossed Francis’s face.
Ludwig guided Arthur back to the couch, pulling a nearby blanket down and wrapping it around a now shivering Arthur.
“I’m okay…You don’t need to fret.” Arthur turned to Francis. “And look at you. You actually look healthy and lively for once.”
“Oh mon lapin…” Francis breathed. He reached out to caress Arthur’s cheek but pulled his hand back. “You’re bleeding a bit still, let me get you a bandage. And some water. Then we’ll have a nice big meal.”
Francis rushed towards the kitchen, only stopping half way when he heard Arthur call.
“Don’t start wallowing in self-pity Franny. I’m fine. And…It actually felt kind of good. Maybe we should add it to our sex life.”
Normally Francis would laugh at such a joke, but right now his mind was racing with what could have happened if Ludwig wasn’t there. How he almost did what he had feared most. At the same time…He licked the remaining blood off his lips. Francis wanted to taste him again.
Francis just stared at a smirking Arthur, letting it calm his mind. Arthur was okay. All three of them were in this together and they’d figure it out. But right now, Arthur needed a bit of TLC.

this might sound random but im pretty new to the fandom and canon gave me an unexplainable ick but I wanna check out the fanon stuff! is there any creators with certain ocs or different interpretations of the characters you really like or even just know of?? Even ask blogs! especially ones for the minor characters
First of all welcome fandom
I completely understand that. Canon at certain points gives me icks too. I almost even put down the series when starting out because of it. Luckily most fans just pick and choose from canon.I primarily follow creators that make cute stuff and explore the whole human side to nationhood (like me!)
sunnylolli-> they've got some great England headcanons. They've said they don't keep up with canon too closely. There are some historical stuff, but mainly its cute family stuff with dad England at the center. But there is also some fruk and Pruden there as well. Hightly recommend reading their fic Can I Stay for a Year or Two. Very well paced healing journey between America and England as well as America just healing in general because he's having a hard time.
balladofthewhitehorse-> great GerEng and Engport stuff. I don't think they ever actually read the series but their works have similar vibes to the way I interpret the Hetalia characters.
If you like GerEng or are at least open to it, I highly suggest Teethhoarder and their blog asking-gereng-> since they're working with a rarepair they've had to diverge from canon quite a bit. They have such a soft style and their depiction of GerEng has very much influenced my own depiction of the ship, specifically Teeth's depiction of Ludwig.
Ashafox-> A lot of wonderful Canada art. As a Canadian they're one of my favourite Canada artists. I don't know if this accurately goes along with the "different interpretations" you were looking for, but they have some 10/10 aus that I highly suggest checking out. My favourite has got to be their au where England is a vampire and ends up taking in two werewolf pups (America and Canada).
frukmerunning and their side blog ask-aph-axis-> they're so funny and I love how they characterize Japan. Don't let their ask blog name deter you, its only called that because they focus on the dynamic of Germany, Italy and Japan as friends (though itapan is going to/has gotten together).
I hope you answered your question. I don't know if this counts as different interpretations, but I tried to gather creators I love who either don't consult canon or have used canon as a jumping off point and expanded on the characters.
Personally, I'm in the camp where I use canon as a jumping off point. Keep only what inspires me and fill in the rest with my knowledge on history, other interpretations I like, and my own ideas. That's the amazing thing about the Hetalia fandom, we really have made it our own, so I hope you can find something you like anon and have a good time here.

Heta-Poly Week 2022: Day 4
@heta-polyweek2022 @magictrio1118
Prompts:   Lets get you out of those wet clothes/ And there was only 1 bed/ Supernatural
Rating: T
Ship: GerFruk
Word Count: 969
Author’s Note: This is a fic taking place in my A Vampire, A Werewolf and A Merman AU. Basically all you need to know for this fic is that Francis is a vampire who has become rich thanks founding a popular clothing brand, Arthur is a werewolf and Ludwig is a merman.
A Vampire, a Werewolf and a Merman go on a Business Trip
“You two didn’t have to come,” Francis tsked as Ludwig placed their luggage in the closet. “Are you sure you’re going to be fine mon loulou? We’re far from the ocean.”
“I’ll be fine,” Ludwig assured him. “Plus…I’ve always wanted to see what was beyond the town.”
Francis couldn’t help, but smile. Right, Ludwig hadn’t been beyond the town other than some trips he took with his brother in the ocean. Speaking of Ludwig’s brother…
“D-Does…” Arthur cut in, “Does Gilbert know you’re here?”
“No…But I spend enough time at your place, so he just thinks I’m there.”
“Ludwig!” Francis and Arthur both shrieked.
“What?”
“If your brother finds out about this…” Arthur began.
“He'll surely have our heads!” Francis cried.
Ludwig shook his head. “If it comes to that, I’ll deal with him. I’m an adult, and I can make my own decisions. And I decided I want to be here with you two!”
Francis blushed lightly, and Arthur’s mouth hung open. “Has the bloodsucker rubbed off on you?” Arthur eventually huffed in amusement.
“Hey!” Francis cried. He shoved his werewolf lover, who only shoved him back. Before a fight could break out, Ludwig placed a hand on each of their shoulders.
“Now, now. There is no need to get so heated unless you plan on destroying the room.” The two men pouted, but at least the shoving match had stopped before it even started. “Now,” Ludwig said with a sigh, “I think some food is in order.”
Francis brightened. “That’s a wonderful idea. There are so many wonderful restaurants around here!”
Arthur only grumbled but also agreed.
Bellies full and the sun setting, the three lovers were heading back to their hotel. After all, Francis had an early start tomorrow with his business meeting.
“Are you covered enough love?” Arthur asked, holding an umbrella over Francis.
“It’s perfect mon cher.”
Ludwig walked slightly further ahead, amazed by all the new sights and sounds. He may have been spending most of his time on land for the past two years, but he had never gone beyond the town the three of them resided in, at least, not on land. There was a lot to see.
The walk had been pleasant until clouds rolled in and the first drops of rain were felt. The three didn’t think much of it at first, picking up their pace slightly, but then started to rain harder.
Francis’s attention snapped towards Ludwig, the scales around his face began to appear as he got drenched. “Ludwig, come here before–”
There was a gasp from across the street causing all three of them to freeze. The weather may have chased away most, but a few people still lingered, having gotten caught in the rain.
Francis turned towards Arthur, but before he could say anything, Arthur shoved the umbrella into his hand and took off towards Ludwig. “Idiot, you should have gotten under the umbrella sooner,” Arthur sneered. He tossed his jacket over Ludwig’s head to conceal the scales on his cheeks before taking Ludwig’s hand and making a run for the hotel. “Hurry up Francis.”
“Ah…O-Oui.”
They were on the street of their hotel just as it began downpouring. “A-Arthur…My…My legs.”
“Wha–”
Francis looked in horror as he saw scales forming on Ludwig’s legs. “Arthur he’s–”
“Shit.” Not thinking twice, Arthur stopped and crouched down. “On my back,” he ordered.
“Are you sure you can carry me?” Ludwig asked, brows furrowed.
“Werewolf, remember?”
Ludwig gave Francis a hesitant look before climbing on.
Arthur staggered slightly upon standing up. Even with werewolf strength, his size made it a bit hard to carry Ludwig. But these were desperate times. With an animalistic growl, Arthur took off towards the hotel, Francis running behind. The three lovers collapsed into the elevator. Just as they did so, Ludwig’s legs turned into a tail.
“Great,” Arthur grumbled, setting Ludwig down, “Now what?”
Francis looked down at the tail. It would not be easy to hide. “We’ll wrap it up in our jackets as much as we can and hope for the best.”
“How will we carry him without them slipping?” Arthur challenged.
“I’ll help you.”
So, Francis and Arthur wrapped their jackets around Ludwig’s tail. They didn’t cover all of it, but they covered the most of it, so it would do. “Are you sure you two can carry me?” Ludwig asked again.
“We don’t exactly have a choice,” Arthur replied. He hooked his arms under Ludwig’s, while Francis grabbed the end of Ludwig’s tail.
Miraculously, the three were able to get into their room safely without being seen. Arthur and Francis laid Ludwig on the bed. “Let's get you out of those wet clothes,” Francis suggested, already grabbing the end of Ludwig’s shirt.
“I-I can do it myself,” Ludwig sputtered out.
Francis smirked, pressing a kiss against the merman’s lips. He slipped the shirt off as they parted. Ludwig flushed slightly. “I’ll go get you some towels to dry up.” He placed one more kiss on Ludwig’s forehead before getting up.
Once Francis had grabbed the towels, Arthur headed to the washroom with his shampoo and soap. “I’m heading for a shower before I start to smell like wet dog,” Arthur muttered.
Francis giggled, grabbing the werewolf’s shoulder and stealing a quick kiss. “You do that. Ludwig and I will be waiting for you.
Arthur’s cheeks flushed a dark red, a small smile spreading across his face. “Okay…”
So the three lovers settled down in their bed. Luckily Francis had booked a room with a king bed before he even knew his lovers would be joining him. It wasn’t as spacious as the one back home, but it would work. Francis and Arthur cuddled up to Ludwig, pulling the blanket over them. In no time, all three had fallen asleep.

Hws Rarepair Week 2022: Day 5
@hwsrarepairweek2022
Rating: T
Prompt: Supernatural
Ship: GerFruk
Word Count: 2097
Author’s Note: Back again with my Vampire, Werewolf, Merman AU. Basic run down if you haven’t seen my other fics for this au Francis is a vampire who fell in love with a werewolf Arthur. After those two get together, they meet a merman named Ludwig and after befriending him, fall for him as as well. In the end, all three get together. Now for some acknowledgements:
First off I would love to thank @lycuriz for giving me the idea of Francis and Arthur getting Ludwig a tank so he can stay on land for longer. You are so wonderful to talk to, especially about this au, so thank you again.
Also, the first half focuses on Fruk though I felt it was important to include for the set up for the conflict and also Ludwig is brought up a lot in their conversation so he is there in spirit. I decided to warn about this since it is a rarepair event and the beginning of the fic looks like it may be only fruk (a popular ship) on screen, but I promise, they do all get reunited and have their cute moments.
A Vampire, A Werewolf and a Merman Buy a Tank
It was a dreary day, perfectly fitting of the mood that had set over both Francis, Arthur, and their mansion as a whole. “Do you think he’s alright?” Francis asked as he stared out at the ocean. His forehead was wrinkled in worry, even his hair had become messy from lack of care; he was too distracted fretting over his lover who had retreated to the sea just days before.
Arthur put a comforting hand on his shoulder. “He’s fine. As long as he’s in the ocean.”
“This is all of our faults,” the vampire cried. “I-If it wasn’t for us…H-He wouldn’t be coming onto land so often, and he wouldn’t have almost dried up like that.”
Arthur wrapped his arms around his panicked lover. “I know. I’m pretty shaken too. But there is not much we can do about it now.”
Francis's frown deepened, his eyes never breaking from the waves ahead of them. Ludwig shouldn’t have had to risk his life like that just to come and see them. There had to be something they could do so Ludwig could stay with them safely and without cramping him into their bath.
The next day, Arthur awoke to the smell of eggs and bacon. He trudged down to the kitchen, still half asleep.
“Morning amour,” Francis greeted, in a much better mood than he had been these past few days.
Arthur plopped down on one of the bar stools. “Morning.”
Francis placed a plate of bacon, eggs, and toast in front of Arthur along with a steaming mug of tea. “So…” the Frenchman began, “I’ve been thinking.”
Arthur groaned, biting back a snide comment, not wanting to get into an even playful argument (he was still down about the whole Ludwig thing). “What?”
“Maybe we could get Ludwig like…A large tank.”
“No,” Arthur snapped.
“But Arthur–”
“Drop it right now Francis.” Something burned in Arthur’s chest at the idea of Ludwig being kept in a tank as if he was no more than a…pet. No, Arthur would not let his lover be subjected to that. Monday was just a fluke. “We have done perfectly fine until now. We just have to watch the time more. We got the tub, and the ocean is right there. He’ll be fine if we’re careful.”
“We may not be human, but we still make mistakes and lose track of time. I know we’re close to the sea, but Ludwig isn’t always going to have the time to get there, and even the larger bath is still quite small and he can't stretch out properly with his tail.” Francis must have been desperate given his pleading eyes. He never begged like this with Arthur (at least not outside the bedroom). “Please…We should at least propose the idea to Ludwig.”
“I will not subjugate him to the life of a pet goldfish.”
“That is not your decision to make,” Francis growled, his patience lost, “I will bring it up to Ludwig with or without you and follow through as he sees fit.”
Arthur wanted to argue more, but he was tired, and not just because it was morning. He was still drained from Monday, and he missed Ludwig. And he knew Francis was feeling the same. An argument would only make things worse. Wolfing down his breakfast, he took off to the library to cool down.
Two nights later, Francis awoke to the sound of his door creaking open and someone sniffling. He sat up and found Arthur standing in the doorway, shaking.
“What’s wrong mon lapin?” Francis asked softly. For now, he would forget their little argument from a few days ago.
“You’re right,” Arthur said, shuffling over to the bed, “We should at least ask Ludwig’s opinion.”
“Where is all this coming from?”
Francis opened the blanket to let Arthur in. the British werewolf crawled under wordlessly. He buried his nose into the pillow.
“I-It doesn’t matter,” Arthur mumbled,  “I-I’m fine.”
“Arthur…”
“It’s…silly…I just…It was just a nightmare. I guess the whole incident shook me more than I thought.” Arthur wiped his eyes.
“Oh Arthur,” Francis cooed, pulling the Englishman into his arms. “We’ll go down tomorrow. Okay? And whatever Ludwig says, we’ll do.”
Arthur nodded, cuddling closer to his lover. They’d figure this all out, together.
They headed down to the beach right after breakfast. Arthur hadn’t eaten much, feeling nauseous with worry. Francis had drunk so many cups of coffee, and his hand would occasionally twitch from the additional caffeine.
Ludwig immediately knew that something was up when he emerged from the water. Maybe a week away from his lovers was not the best course of action. They seemed just as scared by it as he was.
Francis was the first to pull him into a loving kiss. It was desperate, the Frenchman gripping tightly at Ludwig’s shirt. “I missed you,” Francis murmured when he pulled away for air. Though he didn’t go far, keeping his arms wrapped around the merman’s waist.
Ludwig pushed his forehead against Francis, not realizing how much he missed being held like this. “I missed you too.” He looked over to Arthur, who was standing a little farther back awkwardly. Ludwig chuckled slightly, the image feeling not much different than the night he was first properly introduced to Arthur. With a quick kiss on Francis’s brow, Ludwig made his way over to Arthur.
“Hey,” Ludwig said softly.
“Hey…”
Ludwig pulled Arthur in by the arms and gave him a tight hug. “I missed you too,” he whispered.
“Same,” Arthur replied tightly, returning Ludwig’s hug, perhaps a little too strongly.
Francis sighed dreamily, before wrapping his arms around both his lovers and inserting himself into the hug. “Let’s never go this long without seeing each other again,” Francis cried dramatically.
After a few more kisses and hugs, Arthur finally got to the real reason they came down. “So…” he began,  “Francis and I were talking, and we feel that–after everything that happened–we may need to put some more…precautions in place. With your consent, of course.”
Ludwig quirked a brow. He didn’t like the sound of that tone.
“It’s okay mon loulou,” Francis assured him, “Don’t look so nervous.”
“Okay…” Ludwig said hesitantly.
Arthur and Francis looked at each other before breaking out into a whisper bickering. Eventually, they turned back to Ludwig, and Francis took a deep breath. “We were thinking that maybe giving you a large tank in the mansion will make it easier for you to stay on land for longer,” he explained.
A tank? He had heard about those from his brothers. Humans trapped all kinds of sea life in little tiny glass boxes and put them on display. They sounded terrible, how could Arthur and Francis do such a thing?
Then again…This was Arthur and Francis. They loved him, and Ludwig had no reason to doubt that they only wanted the best for him. Plus, his brother had a bias towards humans and the land in general, so it would be logical to question how much of Gilbert’s story was possibly overblown.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” Arthur added, “We just figured that it would be more spacious than the tub, and you could stay overnight and stay hydrated comfortably.”
Ludwig bit his lip slightly. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t scared about staying overnight again. Hot summer days and him didn’t mix, leaving him having to soak in water a lot more often. And the mansion had become his home over this past year and being away from it as long as he had been made his chest ache.
“If it makes you feel better,” Francis said, “We could install it, see how you like it, and if it doesn’t work out I can have it removed or put fish in it. You can even help design it how you would like.”
Ludwig still wasn’t sure, but he didn’t want to scare his lovers again, and he didn’t want to be apart from them. “Okay,” Ludwig agreed. They could at least try.
A few weeks later, the tank was installed, and Ludwig moved in. It was…strange to say the least. It wasn’t small by any means, giving Ludwig plenty of room to swim around, and the plants that were growing made a comfortable bed. But being out in the open, seeing the glass and his lovers staring at him with concerned looks was far from comfortable. He was trying to get used to it, he really was, but it was new, and all he wanted to do was hide and wait for all the uneasiness to pass.
For about a week Ludwig only stayed in the tank periodically. He came out to eat, to spend time with his lovers, basically taking any activity and using it as an excuse to get out. Eventually, Francis asked Ludwig to stay over. Just this once, and then they could discuss how Ludwig was feeling about this whole tank thing.
So, that night, Ludwig laid wide awake in his bed of seaweed and other salt-water plants. He tossed and turned, trying to get comfortable but to no avail. It wasn’t until he heard the trotting of their puppy Monika coming to make sure her mermaid dad was okay that Ludwig was finally able to relax and catch at least a few hours of sleep.
The next morning Ludwig awoke at the break of dawn. With a big stretch, he swam out of his nest of plants and out of the castle decoration he had set his bed in. He swam to the edge of the tank where he could see out into the main entrance. He was surprised to find not just Monkia laying there, but Francis and Arthur. Arthur was propped up against the glass while Francis was cuddled into his side, both fast asleep.
Ludwig’s heart swelled at the sight, and he couldn’t stop himself from breaking out into a wide smile. He sat himself on the sand, leaning against the glass. He reached his hand out as if to run it through Francis’s hair. It was nice. He didn’t have to rush into the bathroom and to the tub, and he could just admire his lovers at rest. Arthur looked so much younger when he wasn’t frowning, and Francis’s hair was, for once, in disarray (though adorable).
Arthur awoke a few minutes later, blinking slowly, getting used to the light. “Morning,” he murmured, leaning his head against the glass as if leaning against Ludwig.
“Good morning.” Ludwig gave him a small smile. “You two didn’t have to sleep down here.”
“We did. You don’t seem…happy…”
“And we wanted to make sure you knew we were here and that you can talk to us,” Francis cut in, though slightly groggy, having just woken up. He lifted his hand to the glass to which Ludwig met him with his own.
Ludwig felt his face heat up, touched by how much his lovers cared. They all remained silent for a moment, still, just happy to be at rest with each other without worry. However, Ludwig eventually wanted to hold or be held by the two, so he decided to climb out and join them and Monika on the floor. He squeezed in between Arthur and Francis, the two coming to rest their heads on Ludwig’s shoulders.
Arthur began to nod off again, leaving only Francis and Ludwig awake. “If you don’t like the tank, that’s okay,” Francis said softly, “We can just go back to normal. We'll just use the ocean and bath more often.”
“It’s fine Francis. Actually…It’s kind of nice considering I was actually able to stay with you without rushing to get water.”
“Ludwig…”
“I’m not saying this just for you. It’s weird, sure, but I think this will be worth it.”
“We could always decorate it a little more. Get some more plants. Oooh, maybe you can start your own garden. After all, you seem to enjoy all that gardening with Arthur.”
“That sounds…really nice.”
Francis smiled, relieved it all worked out. “I better get started on breakfast.” He booped Arthur’s nose, causing the werewolf to scrunch it up in his sleep. “Before this one gets cranky and hungry. Stay with him for me?”
“Of course.”
Francis headed off to the kitchen while Arthur snuggled closer to Ludwig. The tank was still strange and would take some getting used to, but if Ludwig could wake up like this every morning, he’d happily spend time in that tank.

Hetalia Poly Ship Week 2022: Day 5
@hetalia-polyship-week
Prompts:  Butterfly Kisses || “Please come inside, you’ll get soaked.”
Rating: T
Relationship: GerFruk, Gerfrukport if you squint
Word Count: 913
Author’s Note: Once more, this is from my Vampire, Werewolf, Merman AU. Additional note, Afonso is also a werewolf and a close friend to Arthur.
A Vampire, a Werewolf, and a Merman Safely Together
It had been a long night. And Ludwig had spent most of it pacing or lounging on the couch with shaking legs as he waited for his friend Afonso and lover Francis to return.
It was the night of the full moon, leaving his other lover Arthur in an uncontrollable, beastly state. Which was why Arthur was currently missing, and Afonso and Francis were out searching for him while Ludwig stayed home in case Arthur had found his way back to the manor.
Despite his gnawing anxiety, Ludwig nodded off into a light sleep at some point until he heard scratching at the door. The merman scrambled to his feet, hoping it was Arthur who had finally found his way home. But it was only Afonso and Francis, weary from a long night of searching.
“No luck?” Ludwig asked, though he already knew the answer.
“No…” Francis sighed, collapsing onto the couch.
Afonso trotted behind him. Though in his wolf form and unable to talk, Ludwig could tell he too, was downtrodden.
“But the sun will rise soon…I-I’m sure he’ll be fine,” Francis tried to assure the two. “Come now, you two need to sleep.”
Ludwig wanted to protest, and the way Afonso’s ears folded back it was clear he had similar feelings, but Francis would have none of it. “If he’s not back by dawn, we’ll go looking again.”
Though that was not the answer they wanted, Afonso and Ludwig agreed.
At almost the crack of dawn, Afonso, Ludwig and Francis were awakened by a knock on the door.
Francis was the first one up, tripping over his feet as he made his way over. Ludwig, though still dazed and confused, followed, leaving Afonso, now human, lying on the couch alone, though looking over at what was going on.
Arthur stood outside in the early morning drizzle, sopping wet, shivering, and naked. Luckily he didn’t appear to be injured, but he hung his head low, not daring to look at his lovers or friend. But before anything could be said, Francis pulled Arthur into a tight hug. “Come inside…” the Frenchman murmured, “You’ll get soaked. Even more so than you are.”
And Arthur did. There was no protest, no quip. Arthur was too tired and sore to care. That’s how it always was after he transformed back. But this time, something else was contributing to this quiet, somber mood.
Ludwig quickly went to fetch a towel while Francis led Arthur inside. Ludwig wrapped Arthur up tightly and rubbed him down slightly to dry him off.
Afonso watched on awkwardly. With Arthur safe and sound he was not needed here. He got up slowly from the couch and stretched his achy body. “Alright,” he sighed, “Glad to see you’re okay Arthur, but I better get dressed and head out.”
“Oh no,” Francis said sternly, “You’re going to rest here and join us for breakfast. I can’t have you going out sore, tired, and in the rain. You can go lay down in a guest room, and we’ll fetch you for breakfast.”
“I couldn’t–”
“Don’t argue with him Afonso,” Arthur warned, voice raspy and eyes still fixed on the floor.
“Okay…” With that put to rest, Afonso headed upstairs to sleep off his transformation, leaving Arthur, Francis, and Ludwig alone in the living room.
“I think a bath is in order,” Francis concluded, “For all of us.”
Ludwig nodded. He was due to rehydrate soon anyway, and maybe after some warming up, Arthur would start to feel better.
After collecting some clean clothes, the three lovers made their way to the bathroom. Ludwig focused on drawing the bath while Francis remained close to Arthur, arms wrapped around him.
When the bath was full, the three clambered on in. It was a little snug especially when Ludwig’s tail sprung up, but they made it work after a bit of shuffling. In the end, Arthur sat in the middle, leaning on Ludwig as Francis began to wash him.
It was quiet. None of them spoke. After all, Arthur would when he was ready, but right now he just needed to be reminded there were people here who cared about him. That he wasn’t alone in all this.
As Francis ran over Arthur’s cool skin with a washcloth of warm water and soap, Ludwig, in a burst of confidence, began placing light kisses on Arthur’s head. First, the top of his hairline, then the side of his head, then the temple, eventually moving down the Brit’s face and to his neck.
Arthur didn’t react at first, but as soon as Ludwig reached his neck, he shivered slightly at the touch.
“Oh, your neck has always been so sensitive,” Francis teased before placing his own light kiss on the other side of Arthur’s neck.
“Shut up!” Arthur hissed.
“Ah, there you,” Francis beamed. That fiery spark in Arthur was returning.
Before Arthur could say anything else, Francis captured his lips in a gentle kiss. When they pulled away, Arthur was left, once again, speechless (though for a better reason). Ludwig didn’t help either, being more forward than usual and also stealing a kiss from Arthur.
They stayed in the bath far longer than needed, enwrapped by the warmth of the water and each other. They talked, not of the night before or whatever had left Arthur so hollow when he returned, for there would be plenty of time for that. Right now, they would just bask in the fact that they were all safe and together.
Author’s Note: And that is the last fic from me for poly ship week. I was going to write something for Day 6′s prompt, but Fruk week is right after this event and school has been eating up my time so I think I’ll just end my submissions here so I can get started on Fruk week. But Day 6′s prompt shall return to my blog as I was inspired to make a GerEng AU out of it. Anyway thank you @hetalia-polyship-week for running this event!

A Vampire, A Werewolf and A Merman: Arthur’s Brother’s Headcanons
I’m thinking of this au again and now that the uk bros are canon and I’ve got Niamh I decided include them in more detail in this au.
After Arthur got turned and ran away, Dylan worked tirelessly to find all the information he could about werewolves. All the siblings researched the topic, but Dylan went the farthest with it because 1) His little brother is struggling with this and 2) It’s actually really interesting
In his pursuit of knowledge and his brother, Dylan seeks out a real werewolf. As he expected it’s not easy, but while heading home from the pub one night with his brothers, they hear rustling in the bushes. Curious, Dylan follows and comes face to face with what he’s been looking for. Unfortunately, he startles the werewolf and ends up getting bitten as well.
Alastair is furious that Dylan could have been so careless while Dylan is surprisingly calm and unfazed
Dylan knows what to expect and knows how to deal with it so he starts learning how to control it
Though it doesn’t take long for Dylan to get a handle on his new abilities and wolf form, Alastair still suggests they leave, they have to find Arthur anyway.
Eventually they arrive at the town Arthur has come to call home and meet Afonso who recognizes them (Arthur had shown him pictures). He’s able to take them to Arthur.
The siblings are brought to Francis’s mansion. They’re all confused that this is where Arthur lives now. They’re all a little nervous to knock on the door because they find it hard to believe that Arthur is able to live here, but eventually Niamh is like “Fuck it” and knocks on the door.
Francis is the one to open the door
“Ah Bon…jour…” Francis’s greeting died in his throat as he noticed his guest. Four sets of green eyes that matched his lover stared back at him. So these were Arthur’s siblings.  “Uh…Arthur! I-I…uh…Y-Y-You may want to come down to the front entrance…” He gave the group an awkward laugh. “He’ll just be a minute. In the meantime, why…why don’t you all come inside.”
An annoyed Arthur comes down, followed closely by Ludwig and their puppy. When he sees his family he almost crumples to the floor
Dylan is the first to run over to him, pulling into the tightest hug
Ludwig is so confused, still fairly new to his relationship with Arthur and Francis and thus not as aware of Arthur’s family and the drama that ensued. Francis gives him physical reassurance as they watch
Eventually the siblings are pulled into a group hug
The happiness is short lived however when Arthur realizes Dylan got turned and it turns into an argument
Francis intervenes and decides that they should all turn in for the night
The next morning, there is still tension, but Francis takes them on a tour-> When they get to the beach Dylan pulls Arthur aside and they talk things out and make up
Dylan starts helping Arthur learn more about himself and his abilities though he surprised to find Arthur has actually gotten a handle on some things already
Then the full moon rolls around and Dylan and Arthur end up transforming. It’s all well and good especially since Dylan has full control over himself
Something sets Arthur off and he ends up running out and towards the town
Francis panics because last time Arthur had gone to town in his wolf form he almost got killed so Alastair immediately takes off followed by Dylan and everyone else
They catch up to Arthur who they realize is injured and extremely frightened-> Francis warns them all to give Arthur room, but Alastair doesn’t listen and tries to approach him-> He’s aggressive and angry which frightens Arthur more and in the chaos Arthur bites Alastair
Everyone freezes, but when Arthur hears someone approaching he bolts off and Dylan takes off after him
Niamh and Conner agree to take Alastair back to the mansion to treat his wound while Francis in Ludwig chase after Dylan and Arthur
Eventually they come home, Arthur is carried in by Ludwig and has passed out due to his injuries
Alastair, who was furious at Arthur up until this point softens and the state his younger brother is in
Arthur is guilt ridden when he wakes up the next day. He had sworn he would never bite anyone and now he bit his own brother and Alastair will have to go through the same thing Arthur did.
Luckily Francis and Ludwig are there to calm him down and convince him to heal up a bit before talking to Alastair and assure him everything would be okay
A few days go by and Arthur is able to get out of bed and he faces Alastair-> He goes to apologize but Alastair just hugs him-> No words are exchanged, but the rare affection is enough to pour out their feelings surrounding this whole situation-> Arthur’s guilt, Alastair’s anger but also his concern for his little brother and their relief to be reunited and their regret of how everything has went down
Niamh, who is very much into potions and elixirs, offers to work on a cure for her three brothers-> Dylan right away says no, Alastair shrugs saying it depends on what Arthur wants, everyone turns to Arthur unsure of where he stands
Arthur considers it for a moment, but declines. He’s come to love himself for who he is now thanks to Ludwig, Francis, Afonso and Alfred and he would never want to trade the life he has for himself now for anything. This life was made possible because he was a werewolf
Arthur’s siblings end up moving into the town, Dylan helps  Alastair and Arthur get a grasp on their abilities and things return to normal for the siblings or at least as normal as they can be now that they aren’t all under the same roof
They eventually introduce Arthur’s siblings to Al and Matt with Al latching onto Niamh and Matt bonding with Alastair and to an extent Dylan

Hetalia Polyship Week 2022: Day 4
@hetalia-polyship-week
Rating: T
Ship: GerFruk
Prompts: Supernatural || “Is that a knife in your pocket?”
Word Count: 548
Author’s Note: This takes place in my beloved paranormal au A Vampire, A Werewolf and a Merman. All you really need to know for this fic is that Francis is a vampire, Arthur is a werewolf and Ludwig is a merman. But it would be appreciated if you could check out my other fics in this au.
A Vampire and a Werewolf Save a Merman
It was a peaceful morning, though damp. The storm from the night before left the world wet and the tide high but the quietness it also brought was appreciated. If only the clouds could have stuck around, so Francis didn’t have to lug around his umbrella.
A cool breeze blew through, causing Arthur to pull his sweater around him even tighter. He scooted a little closer to Francis, though vampires weren’t exactly personal heaters. He could pretend and perhaps use it as an excuse for affection. Either way, Francis found it cute.
Francis smiled slightly. At least he wasn’t the only one struggling with the weather. He took hold of Arthur’s hand with his free one, swinging them slightly as they walked.
Unfortunately, their lovely stroll took a turn for the worst as they caught sight of the shimmer of a familiar set of blue scales. It was Ludwig…but why was he onshore like that and…flailing? Francis didn’t like the looks of it.
Arthur must have had a similar feeling as he immediately took off towards the struggling merman. Francis could only follow.
Their bad feelings were proven true as they came upon Ludwig, tangled in what looked like a fishing net.
Without a second thought, Arthur pulled out a knife, fell to his knees, and began cutting. “Shh, calm down love,” Arthur murmured, “I don’t want to cut you.”
“Why do you have a knife just in your pocket?” Francis shrieked.
“Really? That’s your concern right now?”
“I’m fine–” Ludwig began but only to be cut off as he began gasping for air. He had been out of water for far too long.
Throwing his umbrella to the side, Francis crouched down to the ground and began splashing Ludwig with water before pulling Ludwig’s tail into the water so the waves could crash over him.
Arthur followed and began his work on the net once more.
Ludwig was still panting slightly, but he could breathe again. Francis began to comb his fingers through Ludwig’s hair, whispering sweet nothings until his breathing returned to normal.
A few minutes later Ludwig was free, and the three lovers collapsed against each other. Arthur reached over for Francis’s umbrella and covered Francis with it once more. “I’m not putting aloe on you after this you numpty. What were you thinking?"
Francis shrugged. "Ludwig mattered more."
"Yes but--"
"We're all safe," Ludwig interjected, "That's what matters."
They all remained silent for a moment, cuddled up and just enjoying each other's presence.
“Thank you…” Ludwig finally said. “That storm was rough last night. Got caught up in that net and then got beached after the tide went out.”
“You’re welcome mon loulou.”
With everyone safe, the three lovers settled on the beach to enjoy the sunrise together. But their peaceful time was once again interrupted by Arthur’s chattering teeth.
“And that is a sign that we should head home for breakfast,” Francis said, rising to his feet.
“I-I-I’m f-fine,” Arthur protested.
“Sure,” Francis deadpanned, “Anyway, I need to change out of these clothes and get them dry before they’re ruined.”
“And I could eat,” Ludwig added.
Arthur pouted slightly, still feeling they were fussing over him, but he agreed. He would need a bath anyway before he started smelling like a wet dog.

A Vampire, a Werewolf, and a Merman Under the Full Moon
Rating: T
Pairing: GerFruk (but with a primary focus on GerEng)
Word Count: 1377
“Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Francis asked.
“Yes,” Arthur groaned for the millionth time, handing his worried lover his coat.
“I wasn’t talking to you,” Francis bit back.
Ludwig placed an assuring hand on the Frenchman’s shoulder. “It’ll be fine. It's been about a year, and I think I know how to handle things.”
Francis pouted slightly, forehead wrinkled in concern. Arthur shook his head, helping Francis into his coat. “I’ll be on my best behaviour,” he assured him, “We don’t need you starving on us while I go through all my shit.”
Francis sighed and leaned into Arthur. The Englishman wrapped his arms around his lover, pressing a kiss to his neck. Francis pulled away after a moment and went to Ludwig. He pulled the merman down into a kiss. “I’ll be back soon then,” Francis said with a sigh. Giving each of his lovers one more kiss before heading out, he headed off towards the woods.
Almost as soon as Francis left, Arthur’s symptoms started. They had headed into the living room, and as soon as they sat down, Arthur was immediately back up and began pacing. Ludwig watched, knowing there was not much he could do when Arthur started up. But the pacing was maddening, and Arthur seemed anxious. “How about we go to the library?” Ludwig suggested. That way Arthur could distract himself with some books.
“Okay.”
Ludwig wrapped a comforting arm around Arthur and led him over to the library. Luckily it did the trick as Arthur wandered through the shelves eventually settling down with a chosen book. His leg still bounced as he sat in one of the armchairs, but at least he seemed much calmer than he was in the living room.
But then the burning started. It was small at first like always. Arthur occasionally rubbed his arm, his leg, but nothing too bad. Then it got worse. Arthur discarded his book to the side and began furiously rubbing at his skin. Another common part of Arthur’s transformation and one that was not easy to help. Ludwig headed out into the hall, grabbing a cooling blanket Francis had found just for this occasion. He returned to the library and wrapped Arthur up tightly in it.
“Th-Thank you, love,” Arthur rasped, his hand shooting out to hold onto Ludwig’s.
“Better?” the merman asked.
“Mhm. Shouldn’t be too long now.”
Those words should have made Ludwig feel better, but instead, they made his stomach drop. The worst was yet to come. As if reading his mind, Arthur squeezed his hand tighter.
Shortly after, the muscle spasms started. First, it was the jerk of Arthur’s hand. Then the kicking of Arthur’s legs and soon he had rolled to the floor shaking and convulsing. Ludwig sat himself on the floor beside his shaking lover, rubbing the Brit’s shoulder in comfort. “I’m right here,” he murmured, “Hang in there.”
A few minutes passed before the final stage commenced: the physical morphing. Arthur grunted and groaned as his hand changed into claws, his body grew coarse golden fur, and pointy ears grew out of his hair. It always looked so painful by the way Arthur’s body tensed and twitched, but nothing could be done. Ludwig had to look away, upset to see the state his lover was in.
Then it was quiet. Ludwig’s eyes remained fixed on the other side of the room. It wasn’t until he felt something sniffing at his arm did he turn around. “I’m okay Arthur,” Ludwig murmured. He cupped Arthur’s face and began massaging it, after all, it was one of the werewolf’s favorite areas to be petted when it came to this form. Arthur whined as if he wasn’t convinced. “I promise I’m okay.”
Arthur huffed, but let the topic go. He wandered over to the door and whined once more. “Of course,” Ludwig groaned. The thing about Arthur’s wolf form was that he always wanted to go outside. One problem, if something caught his attention, he would bolt off towards who knows where only to end up lost. And it wasn’t like the town down the road exactly accepted their kind there. It was a big risk, but when Arthur looked back at him with sad, puppy-dog eyes, Ludwig couldn’t bear to say no.
“Fine,” Ludwig sighed, “But you stay in my sight, or else you’re getting put on a leash. We’ll go down to the beach.”
Arthur’s eyes immediately lit up, and he jumped on the door.
“Okay, okay, back up. Remember, you better behave, or else you’re getting this put on.” Ludwig grabbed the leash off a nearby shelf and hung it in front of Arthur. Arthur rolled his eyes but nodded.
They walked down the stoney path together towards the seaside. It was a calm night with the full moon shining overhead, illuminating everything in a faint glow. Ludwig still brought a flashlight just in case to ensure he could see the uneven path ahead of him. Arthur was fine though considering his night vision.
As soon as they hit the sand Arthur ran off into the waves. Ludwig huffed in amusement before stripping down, dashing after him, and diving into the water. He stayed in the shallow areas as Arthur could not swim even in his wolf form, but they made due. Arthur splashed Ludwig with his big paws while Ludwig splashed him back with his tail. Soon the two creatures had broken out in a heated water battle, laughing all the way. Mid battle Arthur froze, dunking his head under and pulling up a large stick.
“Do you want to play fetch?” Ludwig asked with a smile.
Arthur nodded eagerly before running towards the shore. Ludwig followed after and slipped his clothes back on while Arthur sat beside him, tail wagging.
“Ready?” Ludwig asked once he was fully dressed.”
Arthur dropped the stick at his lover’s feet.
Arthur was truly like a big dog in this form. All his guardedness and gentlemanly persona gave way to something more feral and playful in this form. Ludwig was sure to appreciate these moments. Seeing Arthur so relaxed and free was a rare sight indeed, and Ludwig was one of the few people allowed to see it. Plus, Ludwig loved dogs, and right now, Arthur’s wolf form was the closest thing he had to one.
Things were going well considering everything, until Ludwig threw the stick particularly far. For a moment, he worried he threw it into the forest, but as he caught up to Arthur he was relieved to see it just on the border of where the trees met the sand. But Arthur made no move to grab it. Instead, he stood on the edge of the woods, nose twitching and ears perked. Ludwig didn’t like that look. In the blink of an eye, Arthur took off into the woods.
“Arthur!” Ludwig shouted, running after him.
He tried his best to keep up, but a wolf was far faster than any human. If only the water was closer then maybe Ludwig could have kept up. At least Arthur was remaining in his sight. Arthur suddenly stopped and Ludwig almost tripped over him.
“Goodness,” a familiar voice called from the darkness, “Look at you two.”
Francis emerged from the brush, blue eyes glowing and sharp fangs still exposed. Ludwig felt his heart leap into his throat, but immediately settled at the knowledge Arthur was safe.
“Oh mon cher,” Francis sighed, petting Arthur’s head, “Did you have to almost give Ludwig a heart attack?”
Arthur’s ears fell back, and he hung his head. He turned to Ludwig and trotted over and lightly headbutted the merman’s stomach. Ludwig gave him a small smile and scratched behind his ears. “It’s okay. I know you get excited easily.”
Arthur whined as a further apology.
“Maybe we should head home before something else gets you excited,” Francis suggested. Arthur looked disappointed, but when Francis set off towards the house, he followed obediently. “I’ll make your favorite,” Francis singsonged. Arthur’s ears perked up, and he trotted to catch up to Francis.
Ludwig smiled fondly, before running to catch up to the two. He took hold of Francis’s hand, and the three returned to the comfort and safety of their home.

A Vampire, A Werewolf and a Merman Au Backstories
Francis’s Story
Originally he was a philosopher and poet from France in the 17th century
He got bitten around his mid 20s and is now forever stuck at that age
Though the Enlightenment was taking hold and thus the Church was being questioned, he was still outcasted from society when they discovered what he was. Even his own family pushed him away.
He went on the run, traveling all around Europe for a couple centuries. There were a lot of ups and downs and for a while he was in a very dark place: questioning his existence, battling self-loathing, befriending people only to outlive them, etc.
Everything hits a turning point when he meets and befriends a fellow vampire named Antonio. Antonio gives him tips and tricks to being a vampire and shows him all the amazing things they can experience in their long, long lives. Francis finds new hobbies and a new purpose in life: making people smile.
By the early 1900s, he’s settled down in the village/town the majority of this au takes place in and starts a clothing business because he finds a passion for fashion design
He makes a fortune off it which is why he has so much money when we meet him in the au
Unfortunately a werewolf pack has made a home there first and get really defensive when they find out what Francis is. At first Francis tries befriending them, but the pack is stubborn and he becomes their rival instead.
Other than the pack, Francis ends up acquainting himself with almost everyone in town and basically knows all the goings on in it
So when Arthur comes into the picture, Francis wants to know what makes him tick, but as soon as their eyes meet, Francis can tell Arthur is battling with similar doubts and insecurities that Francis once had when he first became a vampire. This draws Francis to him.
Arthur’s Story
After getting bitten by a werewolf and turning into one himself, Arthur is chased out of his home town
His brothers and sister, though now fearful of what their brother has become, try to convince him to stay. When that is proven to be impossible, the siblings agree to run away with Arthur. But Arthur runs away the night before they are set to leave because he doesn’t want to drag his siblings down and he is ashamed of what he’s become
For a couple of years, he drifts from town to town, often accidentally revealing himself and being chased out (this does not help Arthur’s growing resentment of being a werewolf)
Eventually he comes across a town/village where a werewolf pack has been thriving for centuries (this is the town the events of the au takes place in). He’s taken in by this pack, but he doesn’t get really close to them. But the pack takes care of him and for once, Arthur actually thinks he’ll be safe.
There is one particular member of the pack, named Afonso, who is adamant about befriending Arthur for one reason or another.
When he first meets Francis, he’s really hostile towards him because 1) Francis knows Arthur’s a werewolf and that usually never goes well for Arthur 2) Francis knows exactly how to press Arthur’s buttons 3) Francis is a vampire and 4) Francis is French.
But Francis ends up saving his ass (read more about that here) and the two reluctantly become friends and later lovers
Arthur’s pack is not happy with this revelation and give him the ultimatum: Stop seeing Francis or leave the pack. Arthur chooses Francis.
Though he never was close to the pack, he is fearful for his safety now in the town. But at least he has Francis.
Afonso, at first, figures he’ll have to cut ties with Arthur. But when he sees Francis and Arthur on a date in the woods he sees just how happy Arthur is, he starts to think that maybe Francis isn’t too bad and tries to rekindle his friendship with Arthur. Arthur and Afonso become really close after this
Arthur still ends up moving in with Francis since most of the pack is still against him
Then they both meet Ludwig!
Ludwig’s Story
Out of the 3, he’s got the least depressing backstory
He never knew his parents and was raised by his brothers and the rest of his pod
Life is good in the ocean. He has his family, his friends Kiku and Feliciano, a wonderful, stable home
One night, Feliciano convinces Ludwig and Kiku to come up to the surface with him to see the stars. Ludwig is enamored by everything he sees. The sky, the beach, the light illuminating from the town nearby
He doesn’t want to be human after that experience, but he does want to learn more about them and their cultures
He particularly takes interest in the paranormal/magical species (ex. Fairies, vampires, werewolves, witches, etc.) since they are often grouped together with merpeople
He also takes a particular interest in dogs
He usually only goes on land for the library and learn more about his new interests and to stargaze on clearer nights
During one of his many nights of stargazing, he comes across a vampire and werewolf in a loving relationship. Ludwig is shocked since he always understood them to be natural enemies, so out of curiosity, he comes back every night, hoping they’d show up.
They all become friends and then fall in love!

Note
I had another headcanon for the vampire, werewolf, merman AU. I apologise in advance because it’s kind of stupid, I had this idea at like 2 am.
So, what if they installed a gigantic tank for Ludwig? Okay, why would they do that? Well, I think especially during the hot and dry months of the year this could come in handy. Because imagine this, the air is so dry Ludwig is suffering, can sleep at all. He gets up all the time to get a quick shower until he decides to leave the house for a couple of days until things get better. Whilst this would work, I think it’d be heartbreaking to the trio. They wouldn’t be able to live together for a while and Francis and Arthur can’t exactly visit Ludwig either. I feel like especially Francis, the overdramatise vampire he is, would feel like they are kicking him out.
Now imagine they have this tank that is decorated with plants, lights, shells, heck, even a small castle! Imagine that xD All the stuff people put in their tanks to give their fish plenty of hiding places. Now imagine how embarrassing it would be for Ludwig to live there. Gosh this is so evil I’m sorry but listen, they at least would be able to see each other through the glass.
First couple hot and dry days, he’d actually hide behind rocks or inside the castle itself. Sometimes he’d hear a knock on the glass. Arthur and Francis are standing at the glass looking for any clue of where their boyfriend has disappeared to. A couple seconds pass and Ludwig’s head pokes out of the plants.
„How did you sleep?“ the ask. Ludwig has slept well, of course, but all still feels bizarre. He doesn’t wanna talk about it really and disappears.
I have more stupid ideas revolving around this tank idea but I’m gonna leave at that for now xD Again, forgive me, I love this AU a lot but that also leads to stupid ideas such as these uwu
Did you know that when I saw the notification I got an ask from you I was hoping it was about the vampire, werewolf, mermaid au? I mean any headcanon would be great, but I love talking about this au! And no, this idea isn't stupid. Makes for some good drama actually.
This is actually such an interesting idea. I think the stakes would be even higher. Perhaps Ludwig almost suffocates on one of these dry hot days which scares all of them. Ludwig decides it would be best to stay in the ocean for a few days.
Arthur and Francis feel terrible and somewhat blame themselves for what happened since they are the reason Ludwig comes onto land so often. Ludwig also feels bad, blaming himself for scaring his lovers with his negligence. And being apart doesn't help.
Eventually Francis proposes the tank idea. Arthur is a bit hesitant, but agrees in the end. Ludwig isn't too keen on it, but he figures there isn't much harm in trying, under the condition that this is only the plan for the dry/hot months.
I have some ideas for what could happen next, but I'd like to hear more of your ideas around this tank headcanon. If you're comfortable sharing them of course!

A Vampire, a Werewolf, and a Merman Finally get Together
Rating: T
Pairing: GerFruk
Word Count: 1101
Author’s Note: This is a sequel to A Vampire, A Werewolf and a Merman Walk into a Bar, so I suggest reading that before this fic because you’ll be lost otherwise.
Arthur woke up to a dull ache in the front of his forehead. No matter how many times he woke up with hangovers and claimed he would never drink again, he always found himself back in the cycle of drinking, making a fool of himself and regretting it when sober. At least this repetition set up a routine to handle the aftermath of drunken revelry.
Once he got familiar with the pain, slowly, Arthur eased himself up into a seated position. The movement sent his head throbbing. Grimacing, he rose from the bed and shuffled over to the ensuite bathroom. As if on autopilot, he opened the medicine cabinet and grabbed a bottle of Ibuprofen. Shaking out two pills and pouring himself a glass of water, he quickly swallowed the medication. “Never again,” he mumbled to himself. He knew that was a massive lie, but such was his routine.
“Arthur?” Someone called.
Arthur jumped, frantically looking around before his gaze fell to the tub. Ludwig sat awkwardly in the relatively small bathtub, icy blue tail hanging out the side and brushing against the floor. For a moment, Arthur just stared at it. Slowly, memories from the night before came creeping in. He had draped himself all over the merman the night before, asked him for a kiss, and worst of all had fallen asleep in his arms. Details were still foggy, and there were some holes in his recollection, but he had definitely come onto Ludwig way too strong.
“Um...Do you remember anything from last night?” Ludwig asked, cheeks tinted pink. Arthur nodded. The merman gave him a small smile. “That makes things a bit easier. We still have to talk it out though. Francis is making breakfast, and I’m almost done here. We’ll meet you in the kitchen when you’re ready."
With that, Ludwig lifted himself out of the tub. In a flash his tail became two legs, leaving him completely naked. Arthur just as quickly looked away, face burning. He didn’t look up until he heard the door close. As soon as he was alone, Arthur slunk down to the floor, trying to wrap his head around everything. Francis must have explained everything to Ludwig, or at least gave him a run down. It felt almost surreal. For months they had been planning to court Ludwig, and now it was actually happening. After splashing some water on his face to calm his blazing cheeks and straightening up his hair, Arthur made his way downstairs.
When he got downstairs, Arthur’s thoughts were still in a whirlwind, and his heart was hammering in his chest. But when he entered the kitchen, for a moment, all the chaos became quiet at the sight that met him. Francis was leaning against the island, mug in hand, chatting away with Ludwig who stood at attention as if he were a soldier.
“Go on, try it,” Francis mused, pushing the mug Ludwig held towards the German. Ludwig sniffed it before taking a cautious sip. He immediately grimaced when the liquid hit his tongue. “Hmm,” Francis hummed, pulling the bowl of sugar closer to them, “perhaps you need more sugar.”
Something felt so right about the scene. It was warm, cozy, and everything Arthur had dreamed of since he and Francis first confided in each other about their feelings for Ludwig.
“Oh there you are mon lapin,” Francis cheered, pulling Arthur out of his daze, “Good morning.”
“G-Good morning,” Arthur stuttered out. All at once, his nerves returned. Right. They still had to have a proper conversation with all of them in their right minds. Francis went to speak, but the ringing of a timer cut him off. Spinning on his heel, he made his way over to the oven and pulled out a tray of freshly baked croissants. He placed the tray on the counter to cool before grabbing another mug out of the cabinet.
“Well last night sure was...something,” Francis stated, pouring Arthur some tea.
Arthur let out a groan, burying his now beat red face into his hands. “I’m so sorry Ludwig,” he mumbled, “I should have never been so forward.”
“It turned out alright in the end,” Ludwig said with a shrug, “better than alright actually.”
Arthur couldn’t bring himself to look up. Ludwig may have said it was okay, but the guilt and embarrassment still gnawed at the Brit.
“See, everything is fine,” Francis cheered, sliding the mug and a plate over to Arthur. “Now put those hands down and enjoy your tea.”
“So…I take it Francis explained everything…” Arthur finally said after a few minutes of silence.
“Yes. A-At least the basics.”
“God...Again, I’m so sorry,” Arthur groaned, burying his face in his arms, “Everything I did was so uncalled for. I’m sure I made you uncomfortable. Do mermaids even know what polyamory is?”
“It’s okay,” Ludwig assured him, his hand coming to rest on top of Arthur’s, “I was more confused than anything, and I was concerned about what Francis would think. It’s not that common, at least in my species, but I knew for a while I liked you both a lot. So as soon as I talked to Francis, all my discomfort was put to rest. And I’m more than happy to be able to be with both of you.”
Arthur peeked out from behind his arms to find Ludwig and Francis smiling fondly at him. The Brit felt his cheeks flush an even deeper red. “I…I-I-I like you too,” he stuttered out.
Francis pressed a loving kiss on both of his lover’s heads before turning back to the cupboards and pulling out three plates, placing a croissant and a few pieces of fruit on each. His lover always liked making dishes look fancy. Arthur smiled slightly at the thought.
“I guess we’ll have to plan a date now,” Francis explained as he distributed the plates amongst them. He turned to Ludwig. “So, are you free tonight mon cher?”
Ludwig’s cheeks flushed slightly. “Yes.”
“Parfait! It’s settled. Now eat up while it’s still warm.”
As he watched his two lovers–God did that sound so nice to say–Arthur couldn’t help but smile widely. When he had first come to this little seaside town, he felt like something was missing. Meeting and falling in love with Francis had filled it slightly, but there was still some leftover emptiness. Just like before, he had tried to ignore it, but now he felt…whole. Not just whole, but like he was going to burst and it was invigorating. He couldn’t have asked for more.

HWS Germany Ship Week 2021: Day 6

A Vampire, A Werewolf and a Merman Walk into a Bar
t was one of the strangest sights Ludwig had seen in a long while. Perhaps that was why he kept coming up each night, pure curiosity.
It had all started when Ludwig had come to a surface on a whim to admire the night sky. He had chosen a good night as the moon shone full among the stars. It was quite peaceful and very quiet, that was until a large creature came barreling past him, causing him to almost fall off the rock he was sitting on.
“Oh my God, Arthur,” a man’s accented voice called, “You feral little thing, get back here before someone sees you.”
A blond man with curly strains tied up in a ribbon and deep blue eyes that seemed to glow in the dark came running towards him. He stopped beside Ludwig’s rock, hunching over, trying to catch his breath, grumbling something along the lines of “So much for vampiric speed.” When he straightened back up, he finally noticed Ludwig. “Oh...sorry for disturbing you. B-But…” The man trailed off as his gaze fell onto Ludwig’s tail, eyes widening before quickly catching himself and continuing, ``Have you seen a wolf-like being come this way?”
Ludwig himself was having his own little moment of realization. Fangs, pale porcelain-like skin, glowing eyes, a vampire. Beautiful, but also a being that struck fear into the hearts of many. Once he overcame his initial shock, wordlessly, he pointed towards the direction that the creature went, and with a short ‘thank you’ the vampire was off once more, chasing after what Ludwig was starting to figure was a werewolf. He returned to looking up at the sky shortly after, forgetting about the vampire and suspected werewolf for the time being.
A few nights later, Ludwig returned to the surface, curious if he had witnessed a positive relationship between a vampire and werewolf. He had always been interested in learning about other creatures, especially those coming from the land. He knew that werewolves and vampires had been natural enemies for a long while so to see a vampire, chasing after (what was assumed to be) a werewolf as if he was worried about them, Ludwig couldn’t help but investigate. So he seated himself on the rock once more, keeping an eye out for the man he met the other night.
Luck was on his side as he heard two men approach, one with the voice of the vampire. Ludwig turned to see those blue eyes looking back at him, a smile growing on the blue-eyed man's face. Beside him stood another man, about the same height as the vampire with untamed blond locks, striking green eyes, and handsome in a strange sort of way. Taking the green-eyed man’s arm, the vampire began dragging said man towards Ludwig.
“Oh bonjour mon ami,” the vampire greeted, “what luck seeing you here! I didn’t get to thank you for the other night. Sorry again for the trouble. I’m Francis by the way.”
The other man stood farther back, arms crossed and a scowl on his face. Francis turned his head towards him, his friendly smile dropping, “Arthur, you really are a beast. At least introduce yourself.”
“I didn’t even want to come over here,” the man, Arthur, growled.
“Ignore my rude lover. He’s just embarrassed that anyone saw him running around like a maniac." So that wolf-creature was a werewolf.
“Francis!”
Francis only continued conversing with Ludwig, ignoring Arthur’s protests. He leaned on the rock, close proximity to Ludwig, making the merman's heart flutter. “So what’s your name mon cher?”
“Ludwig. And it was really no trouble, I’m happy I could help.”
Francis gave him a warm smile. “But still, I feel bad. Let us treat you to dinner or something.”
And so, Ludwig agreed, finding himself unable to say no to the vampire’s charms. Once dressed and transformed, Ludwig and the duo headed into town. Despite Arthur’s stand-offish behaviour at first, at dinner, and after a few drinks, he began to crack, talking more to Ludwig, asking him about his interests, and so on. Francis on the other hand became quiet (much to Arthur’s confusion), admiring the other two and listening in on and occasionally adding to the conversation. Ludwig found himself actually having a good time, which was something he rarely found in social situations, especially with people who were practically strangers to him. When they walked him back to the beach that night and said their goodbyes, he couldn’t help but feel somewhat empty as they walked away.
So he returned to the surface every night and every night, Francis and Arthur stopped by to chat. Ludwig tried to tell himself he was only intrigued by their relationship and perhaps even wanted to be their friend, but deep down, he knew he was also slowly falling for both of them. Why wouldn’t he? They were beautiful in their own ways, both on a surface level and an internal one. Francis was so kind and charismatic. He made Ludwig feel welcomed and never failed to make him smile (or blush). Arthur on the other hand had more edges, but once you got to know him, he was sweet and Ludwig found that he and Arthur had a lot in common.
But they loved each other. Even if they bickered and argued, they clearly cared for each other. The way Francis chased after Arthur under the full moon so he didn’t hurt himself or get caught or when Arthur would help Francis hunt woodland animals for his meals. He couldn’t break up that loving relationship and so Ludwig denied his feelings and pushed them down. That was until one fateful night.
Francis had invited Ludwig out for drinks with himself and Arthur and Ludwig had accepted. Such outings had become quite normal so Ludwig thought nothing of it. Things were going well, as usual, that was until Arthur got a little more than tipsy. He became louder and more handsy, kissing Francis openly and even placing a hand on Ludwig’s knee. When the Brit picked up on the merman’s blush, he gave him a smirk as his hand began to creep up to his thigh. Ludwig’s mind went completely blank as his body froze up unsure how to react. Before he completely lost it, Francis cut in, “Okay amour, I think it's time we head out.”
“But, I was just starting to have some fun,” Arthur slurred, leaning into his boyfriend, though his hand didn’t leave its position on Ludwig. Francis only smiled and strangely enough, it was a genuine one. No discomfort or jealousy to be seen.
“I know, I know, but this is not how a gentleman should act in public.” Francis hoisted Arthur up, wrapping the Brit’s arm around his shoulder. “Ludwig, would you be a dear and help me get him home?”
“O-Okay.”
The trio set out into the night (after Francis paid the bill), Ludwig and Francis practically carrying an inebriated Arthur. Luckily the two lovers didn’t live far from the pub they had gone to so Arthur was home and in bed in no time. “Give me a good-night kiss,” he whined after Francis tucked him in. With a laugh, the Frenchman leaned down, placing a light kiss on his forehead. When Francis pulled away, Arthur turned his attention to Ludwig. “You too?” He asked, innocently looking up at the German. Ludwig found himself at a loss for words and his face heated up once more. He turned to Francis hoping for some help or some hint as to how to deal with the situation.
“This is a little more forward than we had planned Arthur,” Francis teased, “you’re scaring him.” Now Ludwig was only more confused than before. What did he mean by ‘than we had planned?’ Francis wrapped an arm around Ludwig’s shoulder and began guiding him out of the room. “We need to have a talk, Ludwig.”
He was led to the living room. It was as grand as Ludwig had expected elegantly styled after the Victorian Era (how stereotypical). Francis must have caught him looking around. “It was Arthur’s choice. Surprisingly he has good taste when it comes to decor.”  He gestured to the sofa and Ludwig took a seat and Francis joined him. “So...To start off, I’m sorry for Arthur’s behaviour. We didn’t want to be that forward...at least not yet.”
“Francis, just get to the point.”
“Okay, Okay….Here’s the thing. Arthur and I like you. Like really like you. The whole point of this outing was to test the waters a bit and build up to a confession. Then Arthur got drunk and any subtly we talked about before was thrown out the window.”
“But you guys do like me?” Ludwig blurted out without even thinking. Suddenly looking at Francis was hard, so he dropped his gaze to his lap.
Francis’ cheeks went pink, but he nodded. “Oui. Putting it bluntly.”
Silence fell over them as Ludwig tried to wrap his head around it all. Arthur and Francis liked him. They wanted to be with him, to date him, to love him. How many nights had he dreamed of holding them in his arms, kissing them, telling them how much he loved them and Arthur and Francis reciprocating just as enthusiastically. It was everything Ludwig had ever wanted, but why was it so hard to come up with a reply? Francis must have picked up on his dilemma, grabbing hold of Ludwig’s hand and taking his chin to guide the merman’s gaze back to him. “I don’t wish to overwhelm you mon cher,” France said gently, “but we do like you. I would love to be doing this with Arthur, but this is too delicate for him to be involved in the state he’s in. So Ludwig? Will you go on a date with us?”
“Y-Yes.”
“You sound unsure. Please, don’t feel pressured. We’re happy to remain friends if that’s what you wi-”
Ludwig cut Francis off, awkwardly crashing his lips into his. When he realized what he was doing, he immediately pulled away, bringing his hand to his mouth out of insecurity. Francis in turn moved Ludwig’s hand away and went in for a sweeter, longer kiss.
“You’re kissing without me?” A tired voice came, interrupting the moment. Arthur stood in the doorway, hair even messier than before, eyes partially closed and pillow hugged to his chest. The other two looked at each other, cheeks a matching shade of pink, before looking back at Arthur. Ludwig had always found Arthur cute, but in this instance, he was absolutely adorable. Best of all, the British werewolf was now his.
Francis shifted away from Ludwig, giving Arthur a spot right in between them. With no protest, he took his place. Francis wrapped an arm around the slender shoulders and gave Ludwig a look, encouraging him to do the same. He was still hesitant, but when Arthur leaned against him, he took that as the last invitation he needed and wrapped his arm around the Englishman. “Can I have my goodnight kiss now?” Arthur asked again. Ludwig found himself smiling at that and agreed to Arthur’s request, placing a light kiss on his temple.
The three sat in silence once more, other than Francis occasionally humming some tune Ludwig and even Arthur didn’t recognize. Ludwig had started running a hand through Arthur’s hair absentmindedly at first, but when the Englishman let out a pleased hum, bringing the action to Ludwig’s attention, he couldn’t stop himself. Soon enough, Arthur was fast asleep and after admiring their sleeping lover, Francis and Ludwig joined him shortly afterward.

GerEng Week 2021: Day 7
@gereng-week
Prompt: Safety
Word Count: 802
Rating: T
Not Always Puppy Love
It was a quiet night. The moon shone full overhead as Ludwig ran through the forest out back, calling for his lover. He never realized falling in love with a werewolf would make life this difficult. At least Arthur was more like a big dog in his wolf form as opposed to a blood-thirsty beast, but that came with its own problems. Take that current night for example. Arthur had gotten out and was running around without much thought, risking what he is being revealed or getting lost and waking up naked in the middle of town. So far they’d been lucky, but that was because Ludwig was there to find him and bring Arthur home safely.
They probably should have figured out a better plan, but fences did no good because Arthur could scale most of them and it's not like Ludwig wanted to leash him (at least not in that kind of context). He could always restrain him another way, but they hadn’t quite found a material that wouldn’t break when Arthur attempted to get out of the restraints. Perhaps a taller fence would work, but those were expensive and they’d need the proper material so Arthur didn’t break it. For now, all Ludwig could do during the full moon was try to distract Arthur, keep him indoors, and chase him down when he got out.
“Arthur,” Ludwig called, “Arthur come here this instant.”
Having not had much luck in the past hour of his search, Ludwig opted to take a moment to catch his breath and hopefully see or hear something that could lead him in the right direction. He cursed himself for not bringing water especially considering how hot summer nights could be.
He was just about to start searching again when he heard a howl of pain coming from somewhere ahead of him. Immediately getting to his feet, he ran towards the sound.
“Oh Arthur,” Ludwig sighed as he came upon a heap of whimpering golden fur. It appeared as though he had tripped over a tree root and received a nasty gash on his front paw. When Ludwig got closer, Arthur growled, eyes narrow and fangs bared until he realized who it was.
Arthur sat himself up, letting out another howl when he accidentally put pressure on his injury. He leaned his head against Ludwig’s shoulder, whining slightly as if apologizing.
“This is why you don’t run off,” Ludwig chastised. But he still wrapped an arm around the other man (or wolf). “Ah well...we’ll discuss this tomorrow morning. Right now we just have to get you home.”
Despite Arthur’s wolf form being bigger than a normal wolf, Ludwig somehow still managed to be able to hoist him on his shoulders. It made the rough terrain of the forest floor harder to maneuver, but Ludwig managed to get them out and back home relatively without trouble.
He set Arthur down on the couch before heading to the bathroom for a washcloth and bandages to tend to Arthur’s wound. After Ludwig cleaned and wrapped it, he covered a now sleeping Arthur with a blanket. Ludwig himself took the lounger, not wanting to be too far from Arthur in case he wandered off again. It wasn’t the most comfortable, but after all that running, Ludwig managed to fall asleep.
---
Ludwig awoke to the sound of the doorbell ringing. He could already feel the crick in his neck without even having to move, but at least he woke up to the warmth of a blanket covering him. After a minute or so of preparing himself, he slowly hoisted himself off of the couch, stretching out his stiff muscles and joints as he did so.
“Good morning,” Arthur greeted as he passed by the living room, two paper bags in hand. “I ordered breakfast so come to the dining room when you are ready.” Ludwig smiled slightly following his lover. "You didn't have to," he said, though he knew it was pointless.
"Uh… yeah I kind of do. Sorry for being such a pain in the neck every full moon." “It's fine,” Ludwig sighed, arms wrapping around Arthur’s waist while said man got out the food.
“No, it's not. We should invest in getting a higher fence.”
“Agreed, but out of what material?”
“We still got to figure that out,” Arthur groaned.
Ludwig placed a kiss on the back of Arthur’s head. “We’ll figure it out. Until then, for your safety, I’ll just keep a close eye on you and chase you down when I have to. After all, this only happens one night a month.”
Arthur let out a dejected sigh. “Fine...but expect me to spoil you after and no more sleeping in the armchair you git.”
“Deal,” Ludwig chuckled, “I love you.”
“Love you too. Now onto breakfast.”
Author’s Note: I love writing werewolf Arthur so much!!! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! Only the bonus day to work on now.

Because its Halloween Eve (at least where I am) I’ve decided to put together some headcanons based on this fic and the paranormal GerFruk au I created during Germany Ship Week. I suggest reading the fic before looking at these or you’ll be lost. But just so everyone knows Ludwig is a merman, Francis is a vampire and Arthur is a werewolf. I also have a few fics for this au in the works so keep an eye out for those.
- Ludwig absolutely adores Arthur in his wolf form because he loves dogs. It especially helps Arthur is a lot more willing to cuddle when in this form
- Their go to date is a picnic at the beach (at night of course since Francis can’t stay in the sun for that long)
- They play fetch with Arthur on the beach on full moon nights
- Ludwig collects seashells and other pretty things he finds on the seafloor for his lovers
- As soon as Francis finds out Ludwig doesn’t have much clothes (since he’s a mermaid and rarely went on land there was no point), Francis takes him out shopping for new clothes. Ludwig tries to protest, but Arthur says its pointless and to just go with it-> “It's his own money he’s wasting after all”
- Arthur and Francis ended up installing a larger bath for when Ludwig stays over since Lud will dry out if out of water for too long
- Ludwig is amazed by almost everything on land since he never ventured there until now. Francis and Arthur found it extremely endearing especially after being alive for so long and seeing the same things for decades
- Ludwig decides to move in after a year of the three of them dating-> Luckily Francis’s house is right next to the water and has its own private beach for when Ludwig starts to get dehydrated
- Ludwig falls in love with dogs during his time on land and when he moves in with Arthur and Francis he asks if they could get a dog-> “But we already got one,” Francis states while gesturing to Arthur-> Arthur is furious while Francis laughs and Ludwig bites back a smile.-> Francis ends up sleeping on the couch for a few days following, but Arthur comes around to idea of the dog-> they get a little German Shepherd puppy
- Continuing with the puppy, she really bonds with Arthur since she can sense he’s a werewolf-> He’s reluctant at first, but eventually she melts his heart
- Although Ludwig finds himself unable to do much he’ll go hunting with Arthur and Francis for moral support
Also, a little summary of How Francis and Arthur met (I’m planning a fic for it so it’ll be brief): At first they really didn’t like each other. Arthur just found Francis annoying and hated what the man did to his heart and Francis, though drawn to Arthur, butted heads with him due to pride and Arthur’s behaviour towards him. But on the night of a full moon, Arthur gets lost and wanders into town (in his wolf form obviously) and while there some citizens recognize what he is and try to chase him out of town (some of them even turning violent). Francis sees this and swoops in, claiming Arthur was his dog and Francis takes Arthur to his house. Arthur doesn’t exactly like this idea, but it's better than facing those people again. Surprisingly Francis acts really nice towards him, providing him with a warm place to sleep and a good meal. Arthur asks why the next morning and Francis admits he never really hated him and even if he did, no one deserves to face a mob like that. After this the two slowly become friends and later lovers with Arthur moving in shortly after.
