nika.muhl I feel like a proud mother
You are definitely not famous, despite the ten thousand followers that appeared out of nowhere, but your girlfriend and your friends definitely are.
You’ve been sitting on the floor for a few minutes now, KK Arnold’s phone propped up on the low coffee table in front of you, staring in shock at the rising viewers and the comments that pour in faster than you can read some of them.
Your jaw actually drops a bit when the viewer count hits 300.
You’re not famous. You’re not good in the spotlight. You’re awkward and you stutter over your words, you can’t get it out of your head how many people are watching you and analyzing everything you do.
You’re the new girl. The new person to pick apart.
And even worse, you’re Georgia’s girlfriend. And if the fans didn’t know about her official 6 month post, they can definitely see now that you’re more than friends.
Georgia has her arm wrapped around your shoulders, tucking you into her side- allowing you to feel like you’re hiding away from at least some of the prying eyes as you play with her other hand in her lap.
Her fingers softly work out nonexistent knots at the ends of your hair, and the comforting sound of her and KK’s laughs makes you feel a little bit calmer. You don’t quite forget that all the eyes are there, but they dull.
Another one of the girls here appears over KK’s shoulder, talking to the live, so Georgia turns to you. She presses a kiss to your forehead, keeping her lips there while she whispers softly.
It’s nice not having to worry about keeping your relationship hidden. It’s not like you wanted a secret relationship, it was actually Georgia’s idea. She wanted to make sure you were comfortable and all-in before she introduced you to the world of social media fame.
The one thing that’s not a secret, that’s never really been a secret, is how protective Georgia is.
You joke that it must be something to do with her being Australian, although you don’t really have an idea where that comes from.
She posted a few pictures of you in them, but she never tagged you, and your face was always pretty much hidden- she even posted a picture of the sunset and blocked out your face with her hand, laughing the entire time she did so at how ridiculous it was.
Even though you both knew there was no way she was taking that picture without covering your face.
Georgia didn’t want you to get spooked by how overbearing the fans could be- and she admitted that she selfishly wanted to keep you to herself. But you kinda wanted everyone to know that you were hers and she was yours.
And Georgia was always down for that.
You were trying it. And Georgia was there, at least. And you know you never have to worry about anything when she’s there.
“You okay, princess?”
“I’m fine,” you mumble back, careful not to let your lips move too much so the camera can’t tell what you’re saying.
“Yeah?” She says, squeezing your shoulder, prodding gently.
“I’m good,” you reassure her, smiling. You still feel kinda awkward, and she notices the way you look away from her.
“Are you sure, baby? Because if you’re not comfortable then I’ll end it right now. Or we can just leave altogether. We can grab food, if you’re hungry. Or just go home and sleep.”
“Hey, babe?”
“Yeah?” Her eyes are wide and concerned, her entire focus is poured onto you. Her eyes rake over your body language, her thumb rubs soothing circles into your shoulder, and your hand is caressed softly by hers.
“Stop spiraling.”
She smiles, squinting at you. “Hah. You’re funny.”
“I know I am. Seriously, though, I’m fine. I’ll tell you when I want to leave, okay?”
She’ll drag you away from this live at the first inkling of you wanting to leave. And even if you want to stay, she might drag you away anyways if she’s decided she’s done sharing.
She blinks for a long second.
“Okay, yeah. But seriously, tell me. Even if-”
“Georgia.”
She presses a quick kiss to your cheek, but when that does nothing to lift your unimpressed frown, she kisses your lips.
“Sorry?”
You roll your eyes, looking away from her as she kisses your cheek yet again, this time letting her lips linger. She’s about to say something, you can tell- probably jokingly beg for forgiveness, but you can’t help but notice KK’s side eye in the camera.
“Yes, KK?” You ask with a smile.
She crosses her arms and pouts. “Some of us are single, you know.”
“Awww,” the other girl coos, wrapping her arms around KK’s shoulders. “Is little KK feeling a little lonely? Does little baby need a hug?”
“Man, get off me,” KK says, still with a pout on her face, eyebrows furrowed. She props her elbows onto the coffee table while the rest of you burst into laughter at her antics. “Anyways. Y’all got any questions or anything?”
Georgia’s arm falls down from your shoulders to your waist, her nails lightly scratching your side.
“Who is the new girl?” KK reads off of the screen. “Y’all so rude, damn. This is Y/N, my new best friend and love of my life.”
You laugh, awkwardly waving to the screen.
“Y/N who are you?” KK reads another awkwardly worded comment.
Georgia makes a face and squeezes your waist, silently telling you that you don’t have to answer.
“Who am I? Um… I’m Y/N, I’m twenty-two, I’m in college right now…” You trail off, trying to think of something interesting to say. “My favorite color is pink?”
“Girl why was that a question?” KK laughs.
“I don’t know what to say!” You exclaim, gesturing to the phone. “There’s- oh, my God there’s 856 people on here. Why are you like really famous? Holy shit.”
“Thank you,” KK smiles, twirling a piece of her hair.
Georgia puts her free hand on the side of your face, angling you towards her as she narrows her eyes at the camera.
“She is also my girlfriend. So don’t get any ideas.”
“Girl, I think they can tell,” KK laughs, gesturing to the way you and Georgia are practically glued together.
Georgia shrugs. “I love my girlfriend.”
“We can tell.”
The comments immediately flood in. Some of them are talking about how cute the two of you are, a few of them are obvious jokes about you stealing everyone’s wife, but the one that sticks out to you isn’t anything like that.
wbblvr552022 THAT is georgia amoore’s gf? does she need her eyes checked 😭
You swallow, but thankfully there are so many comments pouring in that no one else seems to catch it.
“When’d you guys meet?” KK reads. “Oh, Q and A time, guys.”
Georgia immediately breaks out into a wide smile, contagious, one that makes you smile too.
She squeezes your waist in excitement before immediately launching into a dramatic retelling of her seeing you with your friends after a game, then her subtle way of inviting you to the next game in the set, then her subtle way of getting your number.
“And… the rest is history.”
KK laughs at the corny phrase, and you can’t help but smile either.
You lean forward to read more comments. “Oh, Georgia- what is your favorite thing about me?”
Georgia immediately presses her mouth into a line.
KK exaggeratedly turns towards the two of you, waiting patiently for an answer. “Don’t be shy, girly. I’m excited to hear this one.”
“I don’t think I should answer,” Georgia says, grimacing slightly. “Feels like a trap.”
“Well, there’s definitely wrong answers.” You pat her cheek with a smile. “C’mon, give it a try.”
“Umm… everything.”
You hum, pretending to think about it. “I’ll accept it.”
“What?” She asks, her eyes wide. “What the fuck is the right answer, then?”
You press your finger to her lips, shushing her. “Don’t worry about it, babe. You’ll get it one day.”
She rolls her eyes, but kisses the pad of your finger pressed against her lips. You can’t help but smile, wondering if the camera picked up that small movement- but you also find yourself not really caring.
wbblvr552022 is it possible to have a favorite thing about y/n? girl is UGLY
user-1 @wbblvr552022 hey this is actually insane!
user-2 @wbblvr552022 wtf is wrong w u?
You frown.
You can’t keep the look off of your face, you can’t help the sudden tightness in your chest and the thoughts facing through your mind.
Why are they so mean? What did you ever do to them? Are they just jealous? Or are they just right?
Do you deserve Georgia?
KK, surprisingly, is the first to notice your frown in the reflection. Her eyes meet yours, and she doesn’t say anything for a second.
She subtlety covers her mouth with her hand.
“You good?”
You’re really thankful that Georgia has suddenly turned away from the two of you to talk over her shoulder with a few girls behind you. You don’t even know their names, you don’t even care.
You smile in response.
You grab Georgia’s free hand, and she automatically tightens her arm around your waist. You tuck yourself into her, breathing in her comforting scent.
She turns back to the camera, barely even noticing the way you’re tucked into her- she’s just happy you’re touching her. You watch her smile at the camera and feel her squeeze your hand.
“Y/N’s sad?” She suddenly asks. She frowns at the screen, and your eyes widen-
user-1 y/n disappearing into georgia over there 😭😭😭
user-2 @/user-1 GOD they’re so cute i cant
user-3 y/n looks kinda sad tho??
user-1 wait you’re right y/n girl what’s wrong
You make a face and do your best to brush it off.
“I’m just tired.” You swear Georgia can hear the lie. “Thank you guys for worrying, though.” You flash the camera a bright smile and a thumbs-up.
wbblvr552022 GIRL put those chompers away 😭
user-1 @wbblvr552022 HELLO???? YALL SEEING THIS?
Georgia is not convinced that you’re okay. You can tell. She’s kinda tense against you, and she keeps looking towards the door like she’s ready to just throw you over her shoulder and leave.
She tries to meet your eyes, but you’re persistent in avoiding her, instead staring at yourself in the camera. You know that as soon as she looks at you, she’ll see it in your eyes. The bit of doubt you can’t hide.
What if they’re just right?
She suddenly squints at the camera, her eyes narrowing as she grabs it- despite KK’s protest- scrolling up as your heart slams in your chest.
“The fuck?”
The pure venom she spits those simple words out with makes KK stop trying to get her phone back.
“Georgia-” You start, squeezing the hand you’re still holding- she lets go of your hand to hold the phone.
“Sorry,” she mutters, her eyes scanning over the comments.
user-1 nice up close view i see
user-2 you got something in your nose queen
wbblvr552022 break up w your ugly ass girlfriend… cause im bored 🎶
“Are you fucking serious right now?”
“Um, hey… G?” KK starts, confused and smiling in a slightly scared way. “What’s goin’ on..?”
user-1 who the fuck is @wbblvr552022 and why have they been literally bullying y/n in the chat…
Your heart is beating so fast right now it’s roaring in your ears. Something inside of you just knows that the only way someone could get this kind of reaction out of Georgia is if they hurt you.
And as much as you hate to admit it, your heart keeps snagging on something in your chest. It does kinda hurt, as much as you want to rise above it.
Georgia hands KK’s phone back to her. She turns to you. Fuck.
“You saw those, didn’t you?”
“Georgia,” you sigh, wrapping your arms around yourself. “It’s just some random person on the internet. Yes, I saw it, but it doesn’t matter what they say, right?”
Your words sound confident and mature, and maybe if your voice could have displayed that too then Georgia would have let it go.
But you’re lying to her- and yourself.
It does fucking bother you, it does make you feel like shit- it makes you want to never go in front of a camera again.
“It’s nothing.”
You finally meet her eyes.
Maybe her being this pissed off should scare you, or concern you- but honestly? The fire in her eyes only ignites a fire inside of you. Deep in your stomach.
“It’s not fucking nothing, the fuck? No, no one gets to treat you like that. No one gets to make you sad.”
You put your hand on her face.
“Babe, it’s really sweet that you want to protect me, but you’re just gonna drag it out and make it worse, yeah? Okay? I appreciate it and I love you, but it’s okay.”
She looks away from you, trying to take a deep breath that sounds more like a pissed-off huff, and your heart is still fucking snagging on something-
“You love me, right?”
You blurt it out before you can even think, all small and insecure, chasing her love and affection that you know you have. At least, you should know you have it. But it’s like something inside of you screaming that you just need to hear it, that she loves you, and you know you’ll regret it forever if you don’t hear her say it right now.
“Fuck this,” Georgia says, practically hissing the words.
She sticks her hand out and KK- who sweetly has been doing her best to not listen to the conversation- gives the phone back.
Georgia props the camera up again, angling it so it’s only on her.
“I’m not fuckin’ playing, okay? I don’t know what the fuck is your problem, but I will literally kill you if you keep saying shit about my girlfriend.” She laughs dryly, but everyone knows there’s nothing funny about the look in her eyes and the conviction in her words. “Don’t talk about her, don’t think about her- don’t worry about my girl, she’s good with me. Worry about yourself when I fucking find you.”
She lets the phone fall back onto the table, crossing her arms, and you can tell that there’s still thoughts racing through her head.
KK slowly grabs the phone.
“Well… y’all heard her. I think it’s time to go, though… so, bye-bye girly-pops!”
She presses a button and closes her phone, and you watch the screen turn to black.
“Well,” you start, looking between Georgia and KK. “That was… something!”
Georgia sighs, itching her nose. “Sorry, baby.”
“Excuse?” KK asks.
Georgia barely cracks a smile. “Sorry, KK.”
“So… uhm… what the fuck happened?”
Georgia gestures towards the phone, huffing. “Someone was talking shit about Y/N. Like, calling her ugly, I- fuck.” She takes a deep breath. “Yeah.”
“Man, really? I’m sorry, Y/N- I would have blocked them if I saw it.”
You smile. “It’s not your fault, K. And it’s not that big of a deal, really. I mean, it sucks, but whatever. I should get used to it, right?”
Georgia laughs. “No. I am never posting you again. I’m never letting you be in a live ever again. They can’t treat you right then they don’t get to see you.”
KK makes a face that forces you to stifle a giggle. “Okay, Ms. Possessive-and-Controlling.”
She smiles. “Is that a bad thing?”
Your cheeks suddenly feel hot, because it’s really not. And you know Georgia is mostly speaking out of anger- she’s not really gonna keep you hidden from the world of social media. She might, for a week or two, but then she’ll probably forget.
“It’s been a lot of fun, KK, but maybe Georgia and I should go home..?”
Suddenly, she has the biggest grin on her face.
—-
Laying with Georgia in your comfy bed, wrapped in comfy blankets, shrouded by darkness with her chest as your pillow is probably where you feel safest. Nothing can reach you here. Social media or physical, you’re completely safe in her arms and the darkness.
“Happy?” You mutter into the darkness, smiling as you think of how mad she was just an hour ago.
“I’m really bloody happy, actually.”
“Very long night of sharing me, huh? Poor baby.”
“I agree,” she yawns. “We shouldn’t ever go out again. We should just stay in this amazing bed.”
“Okay, baby,” you mutter with an eye roll, humoring her.
“Y/N,” she says after a blissful moment. You can hear it in her voice. The concern, the hesitation. “I love you. I love you so much sometimes I’m kinda convinced you put a spell on me. Like, it shouldn’t be possible to love someone this much.”
You smile.
“I’ve caught you in my web,” you tease. “But you walked right into it.”
“Yeah, I did,” she laughs. “But I love you. You shouldn’t have to question that. I’m not doing my job as your girlfriend if you do.”
She kisses your forehead.
“All I want is for you to be happy… right next to me, though.”
You sit up, placing your hands on her chest as you swing one of your legs over her waist.
“I don’t have any plans of leaving. Do you?”
Her hands immediately move to rub up and down you thighs.
“Nope. Also, I change my mind. I want you to be happy on top of me. Or under me, I’m not picky.”
You laugh, leaning down so you can kiss her nose. You hands work out knots in her perpetually tense shoulders.
“Always thinkin’ about sex,” you mutter.
“Always thinkin’ ‘bout you,” she corrects. “And fucking you.”
You’re about to kiss her when she suddenly pulls back.
“You’re sure you’re good?”
You smile at her sweet concern for you.
“Yes, Georgia, I’m good. I mean… I felt kinda shitty for a second. Doubting that I was good enough for you- it’s silly. I know I am. And I’m… trying not to care about what they think.”
She brushes some hair behind your ear, nodding.
“You know I love you, right?” She smiles when she says it, because both of you know she tells you and shows you possibly too much.
“I know you love me,” you smile, your lips ghosting over hers. “I love you, too, my basketball star.” You press a kiss to the corner of her lips- then her chin, and you’re about to kiss her neck-
“As sexy as that is, I still want to show you how much I love you. You doubted I loved you today. We can’t have that happening.”
She sits up, and you sit back on your heels, rolling your eyes. “I know you love me. It was a millisecond, babe-”
Her hands squeeze your waist.
“Why don’t you just shut your pretty mouth and lay on your back?” She kisses your neck, that one special place that only she knows to kiss, the place that she found by loving you and now covets like treasure.
A moan immediately spills out of your mouth.
“I can do that,” you breathe, reveling in the way her hands feel as she helps you lay back.
“I know you can, baby,” she smiles. “Be a good girl, now, yeah? Let me love you.”
You’re really fucking glad that you caught this girl.

Georgia Amoore X Fem Headcannons
She is so protective of you
Always touching you no matter where the two of you are together
Physical touch is her love language
Your always making fun of her accent while she pretends to hate it
“Bloody Hell” you hear her say her voice strong as you walk into the kitchen. You bite your lip to stop yourself from saying anything, Georgia looks at you “This isn’t funny I hurt my hand” she exclaims her Australian accent prominent. You nod and walk up to her slowly grabbing her hand in yours “Yeah I see what happened?” You mock her accent trying to hold in your laugh.
Georgia rips her hand away and looks at you annoyed “Don’t make fun of my accent love you know love it” she says cocky. Breathing out a puff of air you nod “Love that it makes me laugh” you burst out laughing at the side eye she gave you. She muttered something under her breath turning around, your back to her.
“Okay Im sorry I’m sorry what’s wrong?” You ask her sincerely grabbing her bicep to turn her around to face you. She shrugs “It didn’t hurt anymore I just wanted to get back you love” she smirks her hand coming to cradle your cheek. You scoff at her “Okay Ms Australia go have fun with crocodiles and mates” you mimic her accent again horribly. She raises her brows making a scared face “I don’t know what that was but it was not my accent” she denies grabbing your jaw in her hand.
You wear her jersey to all her games cheering her on courtside
Cooks for you all the time
Georgia grew up in Australia so she used to spiders which means she’s always killing them for you
Laying down on your bed while Georgia takes a shower you scroll through socials. Feeling something watching you, you turn your head to the side seeing a spider on the wall. You scream jumping off the bed dropping your phone, tripping over your own two feet. You run into the bathroom to see Georgia in a sports bra and basketball shorts drying her hair. She looks at you in shock “What? What happened? Are you okay?” she asks you her words quick. You scared your head your eyes wide “Spider please kill it” you tell her scared bouncing on your too feet unable to stay still.
“A spider? Seriously?” She groans walking out of the bathroom into your shared room. Her hands on her hips she looks around her arms open showcasing the room to you “Well where is it?” she asks. You point to the wall next to your bed “Right there” and there lays a tinny spider smaller than your nail. She turns her head to look at you raises her brows “That? Oh you fucking princess” she rolls her eyes going over to the wall and slapping it killing the spider in her palm.
She goes back into the bathroom leaving you in shock, she comes back after washing her hands. Her arm wraps around your shoulder “You know princess I’m going to take you to Australia and you will see many many more of those and bigger” she teases you squeezing you closer to her. You nod and turn around grabbing both her biceps “Yeah but I have these to protect me don’t I?” you ask her sweetly trying not to laugh. Georgia nods “I’ll always protect you from the itty bitty spiders” she teases you kissing your hair.
Talks about you all the time durning interviews
Forces you to go to the gym with her
Bites you randomly like a puppy
Both you and Georgia lay on the couch together her head on your lap, on of her strong arms holding your thigh like it’s her pillow. Your hand holds her cheek caressing it back and forth slowly. Georgia grabs your wresting bringing it her other hand she rubs your knuckles. A few moments later you feel her teeth push into your skin “Ow Georgia- did you just bite me?” you ask confused.
She nods your hand still in her mouth before grabbing it and putting it down “What?” She asks confused. You look down on her in your lap, bringing your wrist to your face you see a bite mark “You left a mark baby” you point to it. She shrugs “Oh pretty it like my mark on you” she winks getting up from your lap to lay on shoulder.
Follows you around all the time
Takes you on cute lunch days when she has time off from practice
Movie nights together that almost always lead to something more
Carries you around all time wether it’s on her back or in her arms
Calls you her princess
Teaches you basketball and makes you call her coach
This was for my bestie @star-girl69 love you pookie ❤️

౨ৎ — here with me ✩ georgia a.
syn : you decided to go to kentucky state's first game of the season with a few friends thinking you were there to watch the game until you met a specific aussie player.
pair : georgia amoore x fem!reader
warn : pure fluff, georgia being a absolute simp
note : thoughy i should notify @star-girl69 @patscorner about this. this moves fast so um 😭
"C'MON MAR, IT'LL BE FUNNN", my friend, Phoenix practically yelled jumping up and down with Lara. these two were currently trying to convince me to go to our college's first basketball game of the season.
which seems nice but i had more important stuff to take care of.
"Yeah Marni, your homework can wait a little longer, plus the game won't be that long!!", Lara said smiling. i rolled my eyes knowing they would never stop until i said yes. "fine, fine but if i get a bad grade on this it's y'all fault. what time is the game anyway", I said sliding out of my bed unwillingly.
i could practically see them dancing in excitement in the corner of my eye but i ignored it. "It's in about... a hour", Lara said checking her phone. i sighed realizing there really gonna make me go.
i watched them quickly disappear out of my room to go there's, leaving me to get ready.
–
the three of us made it to the gymnasium and checked our tickets in. The gym was packed, buzzing with loud energy that only a first game could bring. The scent of popcorn and nachos wafted through the air, while the sound of sneakers squeaking against the court floor mixed with the chatter of excited students.
I trailed behind Phoenix and Lara as we made our way to the bleachers, still not entirely happy and excited onnthis. They, on the other hand, were practically skipping, already absorbed in the pre-game hype.
I could hear Lara rattling off stats of the star players while Phoenix nodded along enthusiastically. Honestly, I didn’t even know we had star players.
We found seats near the middle, and as soon as we sat down, the lights dimmed, and the cheerleaders burst onto the court, kicking off some intense choreography. Phoenix, being the loudest cheerleader of the three of us, was already shouting and clapping along, while I fiddled with my phone, half tempted to pull out my notes and at least review for my exam.
“Don’t even think about it,” Lara said, nudging me. “Just enjoy the game.”
“Yeah, Marni, you’ll love it once it starts!” Phoenix added, her voice barely audible over the growing roar of the crowd.
I doubted that, but I settled in anyway. The team was finally coming out onto the court, the cheers growing even louder. I had to admit, the atmosphere was kinda contagious. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all.
But then the buzzer rang, and the game started. And suddenly, I found myself more invested than I expected. Specifically on a a specific brunette.
The way her brown hair flowed through the air had me more mesmerized then the actual game.
maybe this wasn't that bad
—
we were up 3 points, i watched closely as the last 45.0 seconds went down. one of players for our team had the ball and shot the three. i watched closely as the ball slowly swooshed in.
the ball swirled around the hoop and got in. the crowd cheered as Kentucky State won 72-69.
—
I started getting autographs from players as i congratulated them. one specific one caught my eye. the same brunette.
"Hey you played great tonight", i blurted out making the brunette grin, clearly used to the adoration but still friendly. “Thanks so much! I’m glad you guys enjoyed the game.”
“Could we, um, maybe get your autograph Georgia?” Lara asked, pulling out a small notebook she always seemed to have on her. I looked shocked and took note of the 'brunette's' name
“Of course!” Georgia said, grabbing a pen and signing it quickly. Phoenix handed over her jersey after, for Georgia to sign, and when it was my turn, I fumbled looking for something for her to sign
“Here, just… sign my phone case, I guess?” I fumbled, handing it over, feeling a bit embarrassed. Georgia just laughed, taking my phone and signing the back of the case without a second thought.
“Thanks,” I said, trying to sound normal, but I’m pretty sure it came out awkward.
“No problem!” she replied, handing it back with a smile. “Glad you came out tonight.” I smiled, glad she was happy.
“Also hey, if you ever wanna come to more games, just hit me up. Here—” She pulled out a piece of paper and quickly scribbled down a number, handing it to me.
I looked at her confused, staring down at it. “Wait… is this your number?”
“Yep. Feel free to text me if you ever need tickets or anything,” Georgia said with a grin and a wink, as if it was no big deal.
I stood there, completely thrown, while Phoenix and Lara practically squealed in excitement beside me. I managed a smile, trying not to overthink it. “Uh, thanks. I might just do that.”

Little Bit
Georgia Amoore x Fem!Reader
—-
synopsis: georgia keeps coming back to you.

“Hello? Who is it?”
It’s dark. It’s 10:54pm. You have to rub some of the sleep from your eyes.
Whoever is knocking at the door is panicked. You can hear it in the way they knock- they’re nervous, maybe. Something is wrong. They knock too fast, too hard. Not like they’re in a hurry, but more so like they wish the door wasn’t there in the first place.
“Can I come in?”
Fuck.
You know that voice, even if it’s through a door.
“Georgia,” you sigh, hand on the doorknob, not quite opening it yet. You can hear her let out a small sound that’s a cross between a begging plea and a scoff, then the shuffling of feet.
“Please, Y/N.”
You loved her for so long. You still love her. Maybe some part of you will always love her, and you’ll just have to grow around the mark she made.
You open the door just wide enough for the chain lock to be pulled taut, finally laying eyes on her- she looks like a shell of herself.
“Georgia?” You ask, your brows furrowing, eyes wide in shock.
“Y/N,” she says your voice so sweetly. “Can I please come in?”
You look around her, but she’s in the empty hallway of your apartment building. There’s no one there. You don’t know how she got here, you don’t know what happened- but you know she came here. She came to you.
“I just really need you right now,” she says, and your heart breaks at the sound of tears in her voice, and suddenly you can see them shining so brightly in her eyes like stars.
You probably shouldn’t let your ex in. Especially not when she’s in such a vulnerable state like this, and you’ve been thinking about her more often then you care to admit…
“What happened?” You finally ask, voice small. She stays silent. “Did it- a game? Did something happen at a game?”
Your eyes suddenly widen and you tug on the door, forgetting the chain is there- “Are you hurt?”
“No,” she says, wiping something from her eye. “I’m fine. Please, Y/N, I know… okay. I know, but I still need you.”
You stumble over the words.
“W-we’re not da-dating. We’re not dating.”
“I know,” she says, kind of sadly, kind of resigned. “I just need you.”
If she says that sentence to you one more time you might actually break down and love her again. Love her, really, fully. But you can’t do that. The only way you can love her is secretly, in a tender part of your heart she had carved out so lovingly, and eventually left with scars.
And maybe… maybe you can love her in the darkness of your apartment.
You probably shouldn’t do this. But you’ll deal with that guilt later.
“You can always come here,” you whisper, shutting the door softly, almost like she’s a wild, scared animal that will run away at any movement too loud or sudden. You unhook the lock. The chain falls, it hits against the door.
You tighten your hand on the doorknob, about to pull it open- but you don’t have too. The door suddenly slams open, Georgia bursting in through the door like water through a broken dam- because you swear that’s what this night feels like. That’s what every interaction you have with her feels like. A dam- your resolve- breaking, and her rushing in past the broken pieces, taping you up behind her.
She wraps her arms around your waist, just like she used to do, and puts her face into your neck, just like she used to do.
It takes a second for the world to come back into focus, for your body to process the feeling of her skin on yours again, suddenly your hearing comes back and you hear the sounds of soft sobs. Tears are falling down, wetting your skin- but you can’t be bothered.
“Georgia,” you whisper, finally wrapping your arms around her after a moment of shock. “What happened?”
She shakes her head, cries a little harder- and immediately tries to stop herself and choke it back.
“Hey, hey,” you whisper, softly placing your hand into her hair and playing with the thick locks there, like you always used to do. “It’s okay, b- Georgia. It’s okay, you don’t have to talk about it. I can just hold you for a while?”
She nods, after a tense second.
“I can do that,” you continue, still whispering. She once told you that she liked your voice.
“Keep talking,” she whispers, her voice thick and scratchy.
“Okay,” you say, letting out a breath.
You feel like a lighthouse letting a ship know where the port is. You feel like Orpheus trying to lead Eurydice out of the underworld with just his voice, trying to lead Georgia back to herself from wherever dark place she is.
“I had McDonald’s for dinner,” you blurt out. “It was really good. It’s Friday, I wanted to treat myself. Um, I had a pretty hard week. Just school wise. I had, like, three tests this week. Studying was rough, but I survived. I was watching the Office before you knocked. It was that one episode where Micheal goes into the woods and tries to survive on his own- I don’t know, it was funny. But Dwight followed him out, and, um, yeah. It was funny. I miss you.”
Her tears have dried by now.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers.
And it’s suddenly so right that you’re standing in front of your doorway, holding her in the faint glow of the TV.
“Don’t be. I’m glad you came here. Would rather you here than the streets,” you laugh, dryly.
“I’m sorry,” she repeats, because you both know she’s not really sorry about coming here, but for some reason- neither of you have the heart to say it.
And you can’t tell her it’s okay. You can’t say it’s fine.
Softly, like she’s made of glass and you’ll break her, you press a kiss to her hairline.
“Come lay down with me?” You try to sound convincing, but it’s a question.
“Yeah,” she mumbles, and your stomach drops back down from where it had jumped to your throat in anticipation.
Your heartbeat increases at the thought of getting to sleep next to her again, knowing you’re about to sleep so good next to her, touching her skin. The TV continues to glow, continues to talk in low voices.
You softly let go of her, hand drifting to hold hers, watching as she wipes her tears.
She doesn’t need you to guide her to your bed. She knows where it is, but you take her there anyways with a hand that’s maybe a little too tight. But her grip is just as tight.
You know she’ll leave before you wake up.
She can’t face you in the light. And that’s fine, because you can’t really face her in the light either.
She squeezes your hand. You squeeze back.
It feels a little bit like you never broke up.
—-
Everything is a giant fucking blur.
It’s so dark in here, all of the lights are turned off, and it feels more like a rave of some sort instead of a random frat party. They have these stupid neon strobe lights going, making green and yellow flash obnoxiously over everything- making it kind of hard to see. Making it kind of hard to keep the contents of your stomach actually inside of your stomach.
You’re supposed to be with your friends, celebrating one of your friend’s friend breaking up with her boyfriend who was apparently cheating on her, and the entire time all you could think about was your breakup with Georgia.
And the weeks before you finally toughed up and broke up with her- the weeks where you never saw her, where she forgot about you.
You head towards the counter strewn with half-empty bottles of liquor and red solo cups. You grab one that’s hopefully unused, mixing yourself up some random concoction that will definitely taste like shit, but you hope that you can’t think about her anymore if you drink too much.
You weren’t stupid, despite what someone may think- watching you spill a perfectly good bottle of vodka over the side of the cup, you really don’t have good hand-eye coordination right now- you’re not stupid. You knew it was going to be hard dating a D-1 athlete, you knew you would come third, and you were completely fine with that.
You didn’t get mad when she came home from practice and simply kissed you on the cheek before collapsing into bed, you honestly found it kind of sweet- because she would drag you into bed with her, beg you to run your fingers through her hair, or massage her aching muscles.
You didn’t get mad when she choose to spend one of her rare free nights with her friends- you were a little jealous in the moment, but the pictures she posted on Instagram with the biggest smile on her face made up for her.
You did get mad when she just stopped coming over, when suddenly your bed was too far, not even the promise of your soothing hands could get her to come back to your place. You did get mad when she didn’t answer you for days. You did get mad when you told her you were feeling a little neglected, and then cancelled last minute on your date she had planned- not for any reason, except to go shoot hoops by herself in an empty gym, drilling herself.
You did get mad when you spent every night alone without her.
You put the bottle back down, lifting the red solo cup and taking a big sip.
No. You can’t do this. You can’t feel like this, not tonight.
You take another sip, and another, until suddenly you’re floating through the dance floor and sticky alcohol is splashed on your front, and you can’t really see straight, and everything is kinda hazy and beautiful.
You find your friends in the crowd, downing the rest of your drink before crushing it in your hand and throwing it somewhere, hands in the air as you dance loudly and unapologetically.
You dance until your feet scream at you, your heels digging into your feet, following your friends through the crowd until you lose them, you can’t see them anymore.
Tears well in your eyes. Your breathing picks up.
“Y/N!” A bright and cheery voice exclaims.
Oh, it’s Liz.
“Liz,” you say, your voice not sounding like your own.
Her face quickly turns to one of concern. She takes in your slightly rucked up outfit, your teary eyes, the sweat pouring down your face.
She puts her hand on your shoulder, leaning down close to your ear so you can hear her.
“Why don’t you come with me?”
Okay, you start to say- but where Liz is, Georgia will be.
“No-”
“Bloody hell, Y/N.”
Your eyes widen at the sight of your ex-girlfriend.
“Nope,” you say, popping the p, laughing a little. “Nope, nope, nope. I need my friends, not you.”
You can tell Georgia is a little hurt by that, but she doesn’t back down. Liz stands kind of awkwardly to the side of you, but you keep yourself pressed against her and as far away from Georgia as you can.
You love her, you’re drunk, and she’s looking really kissable right now.
“Well, I don’t see your friends,” she shoots right back. “Do you?”
Her tone is a little condescending.
“Oh, shut up,” you say in disgust, taking a step forward- in your head, you’re gonna knock into her shoulder and strut past her. Hopefully she’ll even look at your ass as you leave.
Instead, you’re drunk, you don’t have your footing, you’re in godforsaken heels- and you careen forward, right into her waiting arms.
She sighs as she wraps an arm around your shoulder, her other hand immediately going to hold your hip.
She pretends to be annoyed.
You’re not surprised by this act, she was so vulnerable last week when she came over and said she needed you, cried in your arms- and you’re putting on this bratty act because you’re mad at yourself for letting her in.
But in your drunk state, you can feel her skin on yours so vividly, and you can feel the way her fingers slightly curl into you. Greedy. Possessive, almost. You fall into her and you let her take you, and suddenly she’s taken it upon herself to make sure you’re okay all-too easily.
“Okay. c’mon,” she sighs, like it’s some big inconvenience to her, but she slides her arm around your waist and holds to her so quickly, again so possessively.
And you would be lying if you said you never felt as safe as you do when her arm is around you.
“I’m fine,” you hiss at her, trying to push her off of you- but she doesn’t really want to let go, and neither do you. She simply tightens her grip, and you simply stop fighting.
She brings you to a much quieter, much emptier part of the house, helping you sit on a couch before asking Liz to find you some water- or just anything that wasn’t alcohol.
“How much did you drink?” She asks when she sits down next to you, putting her hand on your back. You sit with your elbows on your knees and your head in your hands, staring at the floor intently.
“A lot,” you mumble.
She laughs softly in response.
“Do you feel okay?”
Her thumb is rubbing back and forth against your back. Fuck, fuck, you lost your friends and now she’s so close and so far, and it’s so dark in this room- you can barely see a few feet in front of you.
It feels so secret- because everywhere else music is blasting. But in here, it’s just your voice and hers.
Tears well in your eyes yet again.
Maybe you should stop drinking. It makes you too goddamn emotional.
You turn to her.
You can’t face her in the light. But here, it’s so dark.
She’s let her hair down tonight. She almost never wears her hair down, so you’re kinda shocked- and you kinda wanna run your fingers through the waves.
“Why’re you here?” You ask, words muddled by alcohol.
She shrugs. “Just for fun.”
“You don’t know how to have fun,” you accuse.
She laughs, scrunches her nose. It’s all kinda condescending, still. Like you’re some little girl who doesn’t really know anything.
“Yeah, I do.”
“You never had any fun with me.”
She looks away.
“So it’s me, then? I’m the problem?”
“You’re not the problem, Y/N.”
You roll your eyes. “Fuck you.”
“Don’t be a brat,” she scolds.
Her? Scolding you?
You narrow your eyes. “Fuck. You. You’re selfish as shit, and I’m glad I broke up with you everyday.”
Saying that feels like you’re coughing up your organs, but whatever.
She smiles, scratching her nose.
“Yeah, sure. Whatever.”
“Whatever,” you echo.
She rolls her eyes. “Fuckin’ brat.”
“You can leave. You know that, right? You don’t have to stay here. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to sit on the same couch as a “brat” like me.”
“I’m not gonna leave.”
You find yourself inching closer to her.
“Scared of the dark or something, Amoore?”
Suddenly her eyes meet yours.
“Oh, no. I know what you’re scared of.”
She leans back against the couch, adjusting her legs, arms out wide along the back of the couch.
“Really?” She laughs. Genuinely laughs, as if the idea of you something knowing personal about her is so unbelievable.
Suddenly, you swing your leg over hers and climb into her lap. You straddle her, hands pressing into her shoulders as she stares at you in shock.
“Y/N,” she says, swallowing- suddenly not so cocky anymore. “Y/N.”
“Yeah?” You ask, twirling a piece of her hair. “Need to me to talk some more? ‘Cause you love my voice so much, right?”
She puts her hands on your thighs and barely tries to push you off. She could, if she really wanted to. She’s strong. You love her arms.
“I’m really drunk,” you confess, still twirling with a piece of her hair. You can feel her gaze on your pouted lips. “I’m probably not gonna remember this in the morning…”
“Y/N.” It’s a very clear warning, but you push past it. There’s something between your thighs and a burning desire in your stomach.
“Maybe you should show me why I shouldn’t be a brat.”
Her hand moves up from your thigh to cup your waist.
“Fuck, princess.”
“Yeah?” You say, feeling kinda like a giddy schoolgirl at the way she hungrily rakes her eyes up your body, finally landing on your lips. You bite one of them- and the alcohol prevents you from feeling kinda silly, and you can see it on her face. The way she wants you right now.
“Bloody hell,” she whispers, finally leaning forward to place a kiss to your bare chest. She lets her lips linger, and you know you have her right under your thumb- but now it’s not about the power play.
Now it’s about how fucking badly you want her to touch you.
“Touch me,” you say, hoping she doesn’t tease you about the fact you’re practically begging for her, but she seems to want to touch you just as bad. “Touch me, Georgia, please.”
“Shh,” she whispers, before finally pressing her lips to yours.
It feels a little bit like you never broke up.
—-
It’s annoyingly bright. And loud. Your eardrums might burst.
And in all honesty, you never really understood basketball all that well.
You kinda hate this entire thing.
You sigh, leaning back farther into your chair as a buzzer sounds and people cheer- and you straighten up only to realize that it’s just the first quarter.
It’s only been 10 minutes?
Your friends are all super into the game, of course, and it’s not like you don’t like supporting the girls on the team- Liz Kitley, at least, you still consider her to be one of your friends.
Having to watch Georgia completely command the court is probably one of the hardest things you’ve ever had to do. The way she’s so completely in her element, her hair tied back and sticking to her forehead and neck with sweat- you find yourself wanting to lick her skin.
You shake your head and groan, trying to physically get the annoyingly horny thoughts out- but, fuck. All you can think about is the last time you saw her.
The way her hands trailed your skin so hungrily, getting lower and lower, and the feeling in your stomach that felt suspiciously like an actual fire coming to a burning climax before slowly coming back down, reassured by her sweet kisses.
The way she held you that night was possessive. She made you feel like hers. The way she kissed you that night was like she had been starved of you for years, and thought about you every second.
Your friend nudges you. “Starin’ real hard.”
“I’m not,” you hiss, but you know you are.
“No, it’s okay,” she laughs. “I support it. You both miss each other.” You roll your eyes, but she doubles down. “You’re both still in love with each other, babe.”
Some odd emotion takes root in your chest. It squeezes.
“I’m not in love with her. I’m just… in like with her.”
“Mhm,” she says with a smile. “Well, we’ll all be here to celebrate when you guys finally admit it.”
“Jane, shut up.”
She nudges you again with a teasing smile. “I saw those suspicious looking bruises on your hips after that one party you both disappeared at… I might even say those suspicious bruises were kinda… Georgia shaped.”
“Shut. Up. Jane.” You narrow your eyes, and she only smiles widely before laughing and turning back to the game.
“Take your time, babe. Take your time.”
From what you understood, this was the Elite Eight game for the Hokies, and it was kind of a big deal. This game was the one that worked best in your and your friends schedules, and the stadium wasn’t exactly that far, so you came to have fun with them. To support your school, and Liz, and watching Georgia sink a few threes was an added guilty pleasure of a bonus.
You continue watching, your eyes staying mostly on #5.
Surprisingly, you aren’t watching when she gets hit.
You’ve actually managed to tear your eyes away from her and focus on the ball- when suddenly your friends gasp.
You look around the court, eyes finally landing on someone in a Hokie jersey laying on their back, face in their hands.
Someone in a red jersey walks past her, revealing a head of hair you know is Georgia’s.
You straighten, practically jumping out of your seat, your leg immediately staring to bounce up and down in anxiety.
“Get up,” you mumble to yourself. “Be okay. Get up. You’re fine, please. Please get up.”
She doesn’t get up. When you see the athletic trainers step onto the court you stand up quickly.
Jane is watching it from next to you, still sitting down, biting her nails- she looks up at you.
“Hey, Y/N, calm down,” she says, grabbing your hand. Squeezing, trying to bring you back to reality.
“Oh, fuck,” you mumble as Jane pulls herself to stand. “They have to help her off? She can’t walk herself? W-where’d she even get hit? I didn’t see, I- I-”
“Y/N.”
Jane grabs your shoulders.
“Take a deep breath… wipe your tears… and go get your girl.”
You follow the first two steps but falter at the third.
“What?” You mumble, bringing your hand down from your face.
She looks towards the court, and that’s when you realize she’s walking right past you to get to the locker rooms.
You’re thankfully at the end of the aisle, so you carefully make your way down the stairs, to the barricade, kinda feeling like you’re floating. Now that she’s at least up you feel a little better, your tears are starting to dry.
All you want to do is make sure she’s okay.
And even though she’s not yours, and you only love her in the dark- you need to know.
Besides… it’s been two weeks since you’ve felt her skin on yours.
“Georgia!” You call, hands on the barricade bracing yourself. “Georgia!”
You probably didn’t even need to call a second time, because she turns towards you.
A security guard steps in front of you with a large hand, asking you to please get back to your seat- you lock eyes with Georgia.
Her chin. It’s bright red and slightly swollen.
Silently, you ask her to please let you in- but she keeps walking, two athletic trainers helping her.
“Ma’am, please get back to your seat,” the guard says again.
Does she regret that night at the party? Is this feeling in your chest ever since Jane said she was in love with you hope? And it is being crushed now?
“Okay,” you mutter, feeling tears form in your eyes tenfold.
“You’re Y/N?” One of the athletic trainers has run over to you. The security guard gives her a look, but she glares right back.
“Yeah?”
“Georgia asked for you, c’mon.” She beckons you to follow her-
“Really?”
“Yes,” she deadpans. “She said she needed you. I don’t care what she needs, as long as she checks out, I want her to get back out there.”
“Me too,” you nod, sensing this lady took her job very seriously.
“Well c’mon then,” she sighs, patting the barricade, encouraging you to hop it. The security guard rolls his eyes and walks away, and you quickly clamber over the barricade and follow the woman- who walks very fast.
“Did she really say that she needed me?”
Your voice sounds like a stupid Disney princess.
The smallest smile makes its way into her face.
“Yes. She said she needed you.”
Georgia needs you.
You enter the locker room full of fluorescent lights, squinting as your eyes adjust and the door shuts behind you.
She’s sitting on a bench, her fists clenched as the other trainer softly holds her face to look at the mark already forming.
Georgia needs you.
You softly sit next to her, and it takes her a second to finally notice you out of the corner of her eye- an eye which is scrunched up in pain.
“Georgia,” you whisper. Her hand is shaky when you grab it. “What happened?”
“I think everyone saw,” she mumbles. You brush back some hair sticking to her forehead.
“I was actually playing attention to the ball, so, I didn’t.”
“You paid attention to basketball?”
“Well, not very well. But I tried.”
You move closer to her so your thighs are touching, her hand squeezes yours as she turns her head- and you spot the bruise on her chin.
“She got me in the chin.”
“Jesus Christ,” you gasp, looking up wide eyes to the atheistic trainer. “Is it normal to be a bruise already- God, is your jaw broken? Are you okay?”
Georgia and the trainers all let out a laugh, and you feel kinda silly, but Georgia squeezes your hand as if to reassure you. You feel a little bit better.
“Completely normal,” the woman before explains. “And, a little tip, usually if people are talking- jaws aren’t broken.”
“Oh, whatever,” you mumble, feeling your cheeks get a little hot. One of the trainers hands you an ice pack.
You.
“You’re medically checked out. Ice it for a minute, catch your breath, and you’re ready to go back out there if you want to.”
“Okay, thanks,” Georgia nods, smiling tightly- but you can hear it in her voice. The weight of it all. The pressure.
“We’ll give you a minute alone,” the trainer says, kind of suggestively, but you force yourself to ignore that as her and her colleague let the door shut behind them.
You softly press the ice pack to her chin. She shuts her eyes, and you can tell she’s willing herself not to cry.
“Does it hurt a lot?” It’s kind of a stupid question, but you can’t think of anything else to say.
“No. It’s not too bad.” Her eyes shut, and you place your other hand on her jaw to steady yourself. She lets out a breath.
“Hey, it’s okay,” you whisper, hand moving to smooth back her ponytail.
“Mm- no, no. I’m fine. I just need you right now.”
And it’s in moments like this, when Georgia says she needs you, when she’s touching you and looking to you for comfort… this is how you know you’ll never be able to fully tear yourself away from her.
She’ll always run back to you. And you’ll always let her, with open arms.
You kind of want to ask her what needing you means. But you don’t.
“I should get back out there,” she says. She’s whispering, like this moment will break.
“Yeah,” you agree, swallowing.
“Yeah.”
You meet her eyes again, and her pupils are slightly blown, she looks a little breathless-
“Oh, to fuck with it.”
She slams her lips onto yours, hands cupping your face and keeping you pressed close to her, the ice pack falling and your hands immediately winding around her neck- this is how you need her. You need her hungry and kissing you. You need her touching you and loving you.
She needs you to comfort her and you need her to fuck you.
Any shyness you had is long replaced, especially when one of her hands drifts down to squeeze your ass, making you moan her name into her mouth.
The kiss is disgusting, messy, kind of dirty.
“There’s so much riding on this game,” she breathes out when you move down to kiss her neck.
“I know,” you mumble back against her skin. “But you’re so talented.”
“Yeah,” she agrees, tilting her head back. “I only forget about it when I’m with you.”
Her hand drifts down to your neck, and she pulls you away to start kissing down yours, both of you careful to not leave marks- but you can feel her kissing a little harder then she should.
You’ll probably be leaving this place tonight with at least one faint mark on your neck. And the thought thrills you.
“Really?” You gasp. “Maybe you should stop fucking me over and spend more time fucking me.”
“I will,” she whispers against your skin, leaving one final kiss on the mark you could feel her forming. “I promise I will.”
“Good,” you say back, trying to sound confident. But she looks into your eyes, her ponytail messy from when you had tugged on her hair, and completely melt.
“Sorry,” she mumbles, pointing awkwardly to the hickey. But you know she’s saying sorry for more than that.
You cover it with your hair. “It’s okay, I guess.”
“I’ll make it up to you,” she smiles, a little wickedly.
“Please.”
“I really have to go back now,” she stands up, rubbing her jaw. “Sorry- shit. You distracted me.”
“Sorry,” you shrug.
“I really gotta go before I kiss you again.”
You smile. You smile so big and she smiles right back.
“Well, now you’re definitely gonna win because you’re all fired up, huh?” You stand up, following her to the locker room door.
“Definitely.”
She doesn’t promise to text you or anything, and you don’t mind. You know she’ll come back.
You smile softly instead of saying goodbye, and she stares at you kinda in amazement for a second before shaking her head and running right back over to the game.
It feels a little bit like you never broke up, but you’re kinda glad you broke up.

You weren’t exactly scared of flying, more so just constantly aware of every little thing that can go wrong.
You can’t stop bouncing your leg, checking your phone every five seconds to make sure that it is in fact charging, you’ve rechecked your bag for your passport about 20 times, and you’re clutching your boarding pass so hard you’ve kinda crumpled it.
“Let me see your boarding pass.”
You hold out your hand to Georgia, who has been looking at you slightly concerned for the past hour, and she hands over the piece of paper wordlessly.
You scan the piece of paper, ensuring that, again, her name is on it, this is the right flight, and her seat is right next to yours.
You let out a deep breath before passing it back to her.
Everything will be fine. I’m calm. I’m so calm. It’s just a 16 hour flight.
Nevermind. You’re not calm.
“How do you do this?” You finally mutter, your bouncing leg coming to a standstill.
Your girlfriend, who is very annoyingly calm, looks up from her phone.
“Do what?”
“Like, planes. Travel. I just- are you sure it’s 16 hours?”
She smiles. “Yes, babe, I’m sure the flight I’ve taken a million times is 16 hours long.”
You let out a huff, putting your head into your hands. You’re sitting at one of those charging tables near your gate, waiting anxiously for them to finally start boarding, while Georgia stands next to you, completely unbothered.
She tuts and rubs your back. “I promise you’re going to be completely fine, yeah? You’re just psyching yourself out.”
“Okay,” you mumble, taking your head out of your hands to instead stare intently at the gate. You start cracking your knuckles absentmindedly, not even noticing you’re doing so until your girlfriend sets down her phone and grabs your hands.
“Okay, I love you very much so please don’t take this the wrong way.”
You shoot her a warning look.
“You need to calm the fuck down.”
You let go of her hands and scoff, trying to be mad at her, but she’s smiling at you- and her smile really is contagious. You never really believed it before, people having contagious smiles, and maybe you’re just in love with her, but whenever she smiles you follow soon after.
She tucks a stray piece of hair behind your ear, letting her fingers linger as you pointedly look away from her.
She rolls her eyes at your antics, but simply grabs your jaw and forces you to look at her other hand, now sticking her pinky out.
“I pinky promise that everything will be fine.”
“You’re a child.”
“Oh, babe,” she whispers, looking side to side. “Maybe don’t say that so loud.”
“Shut up.”
You try to hide your smile, mouth thinning into a line, but ends of your mouth curl up into a smile as she squeezes your cheeks together.
“Okay, pinky promise. I’ll even take your carry-on for you so you don’t have to worry.”
“Well, you were gonna do that anyways,” you tease.
“Probably,” she shrugs. “Stop. Pinky promise. Now.”
You sigh dramatically but interlock her finger with yours.
“Okay, now, pinky promise you’ll calm the fuck down, yeah?”
“I pinky promise, or whatever.”
She tugs you towards her with the hand still on your jaw, pressing a quick kiss to your cheek- she lingers, for just a second.
“Love you.”
—-
You recheck your ticket for the same time, confirming this is the right seat.
“You want middle or aisle, babe?”
You had decided to check your bags for this flight, so Georgia is carrying both her backpack and yours, while also holding your hand through the aisles- it’s honestly pretty impressive.
“Would it be weird if I said middle?”
“Nah,” she shrugs, gesturing for you to climb into the middle seat.
You sit down, smiling politely at the man in the window seat, immediately putting up the hand rest in between you and Georgia- ignoring her smile as she sits down next to you. She starts to put your bags under the seats, but you grab yours.
You rifle through it one more time, laying eyes on your passport, your wallet, your phone charger, your book, and every other little thing before feeling calm enough to zip it up and stuff it under the seat in front of you.
“Okay,” you mumble. “I’m ready.”
Georgia gives you that same concerned look she’s been giving you ever since you got to the airport.
“Are you, like, scared of flying or something?”
“No,” you roll your eyes. “Traveling just makes me nervous. And it’s sixteen hours.”
“You’re gonna sleep for most of it,” she dismisses, grabbing your hand and squeezing it.
You let out a sarcastic laugh. “There’s no way I can fall asleep.”
She smiles at you, and you stare right back, completely serious.
“Nah, you’ll fall asleep.”
“Nah,” you echo, “I won’t.”
“C’mere,” she says, wrapping her arm around you so you can rest your head on her shoulder, kind of awkwardly- but her touch and her smell is comforting. You force your eyes shut, taking a deep breath. “There we go, darling,” she mumbles, pressing a kiss to your head, leaving her lips there to breathe you in fire a second. “Much better.”
She settles back into her own seat, putting her Airpods in and taking out her phone.
You open your eyes and stare straight ahead at the blue seat in front of you.
-
“I seriously cannot believe you didn’t sleep that entire flight.”
You’re oddly wide awake right now. Maybe it’s just the excitement of finally being off of the airplane, or being in a brand new place- it feels different here. The air feels thicker- more humid?
“Wait, what time is it here?” You ask, seeing nothing but gaping blackness outside the huge windows of the gate.
Georgia looks at her phone, her arm looped tightly with yours as if you’re going to collapse from exhaustion at any moment.
“12:31.”
You frown, feeling slightly disoriented- maybe you should have slept. It’s not like you didn’t try, though. You squeezed your eyes shut for what felt like entire hours, you forced Georgia to run her hands through your hair, you listened to the most calming songs you could think of, and you simply stayed awake.
Georgia fell asleep an hour into the flight, though, and you tried to be angry at her… but eventually gave up and just let her lay practically on top of you. Which was quite a feat in economy class on an airplane, really.
“Where are we going, then?”
Georgia looked at you oddly, again very concerned- you felt kinda guilty for how worried she seems to be over you.
“We got a hotel in Melbourne for tonight, remember? ‘Cause our plane landed at midnight, and it’s an hour and a half drive to Balarat, yeah?”
The memories finally click in your brain.
“Ohhhh, yeah,” you nod. “I remember now.”
Georgia tugs you along, walking faster through the terminal. “Let’s get our bags and let’s get you into a bed. You’re kinda scaring me.”
She looks at you out of the corner of her eye.
“You didn’t sleep at all? Like, not even for a few minutes?”
“No,” you shrug.
She shakes her head. “There’s something wrong with you.”
“Oh, okay,” you hum, tugging your arm away from hers. “You can sleep on the floor tonight.”
She grabs your hand and tugs you right back over to her.
“Yeah, that’ll happen.”
—-
“Oh, my God, look up, babe.”
“Huh?” You ask, tearing your eyes away from the sidewalk. You had successfully gotten your bags and a taxi to the hotel, and you were now walking along the sidewalk to the huge doors.
“Why are you staring at the ground?”
Your suitcase gets stuck on a crack, and you tug it forward. Maybe it’s because a bed is so close now, but exhaustion is really staring to set in. All you can think about is literally throwing yourself into the bed, dragging Georgia down with you, and collapsing.
“Watching for snakes and spiders.”
“You’re not serious.”
“Um, yes, I am. Australia is dangerous as fuck. Snakes, spiders, dingos, kangaroos, sharks, crocodiles, giant fucking bats? I’m not taking risks.”
“This is fucking Melbourne, not the bush.”
“What’s the bush?”
She stops and looks up at you.
“I need you to tone down the American-ness by, like, 10 please.”
“Okay, sorry,” you huff, smile crawling onto your face, the automatic doors of the hotel sliding open. “Not my fault the only thing I know about Australia is ‘G’day, mate. I’m from down under, yeah? Kangaroos and dingo babies-’”
“I will give you money to shut up.”
“Ooh, how much?”
“Whatever you want, just please, please, for the love of God stop doing that horrible accent,”
“It’s a wonderful accent,” you fake pout.
“It’s like nails on a chalkboard. I’m being so for real.”
“Whatever,” you shrug. “Can we go see kangaroos, by the way? Like I just want to go stare at kangaroos. I want to know that they’re really real, y’know?”
“Jesus Christ- you know what? Sure. We’ll go see kangaroos.”
—-
“Oh, this place is nice,” you smile, dragging your suitcase into the room and shoving it in the empty space next to the bed.
“Oh no,” Georgia frowns, staring at the bed. “I must have booked it wrong, there’s only one bed.”
“Aw, that sucks.” You sit down, kicking off your shoes and throwing yourself back onto the bed. “Have fun on the floor.”
“Can we just put a pillow between us?” She asks, trying to play along with the joke but already smiling as she lays next to you on her stomach, her own shoes falling to the floor.
“No, sorry. I just feel really uncomfortable sleeping with you, seeing as you… like girls and all, and I just… I don’t support that, sorry. I don’t want to catch it from you.”
“Really?” She smiles, crawling towards you. “You’re sure you don’t like girls? Not even a little bit?”
She hovers over you, hands planted next to your head, and you wrap your arms around her neck.
“I’m so straight I actually don’t even look at girls.”
She presses a quick kiss to your lips.
You gasp but make no move to push her away. “You just assaulted me.”
“You can assault me right back, baby.”
“Disgusting,” you groan, before sliding one of your hands down to her face to push her towards you, kissing her long and slow.
She adjusts herself so her legs are now in between yours, her hand drifting down to grab at your thigh and wrap it around her waist, pulling you even closer to her, until suddenly you’re barely even kissing her, just kind of languidly going through the motions as you eyes drift shut, her comforting weight above you.
“You’re so pretty,” she murmurs, finally pulling away for air but immediately trailing kiss down your cheek and jawline to your neck.
You turn your head to the side, yawning as you do so, letting her hand squeeze your thigh and her kisses turn into the faintest marks-
“Look! There’s a balcony!”
You try to push her away from you and sit up, but she gives you a bored look.
“I’m on top of you right now and you want to go see the balcony?”
“Yeah..? You’ll be fine,” you shrug, managing to maneuver yourself out from under her, running over to the sliding glass door and pressing your face against it.
Melbourne is spread out before you. Well, more so in the distance, you’re kinda just outside of Melbourne. There’s a few bright lights even at this hour, and you can see the faintest glimpse of the balcony-
“Aww, there’s a little couch out there!”
Calling it a couch was probably making someone roll over in their grave. It was just a two person chair made out of wicker, with a thin red cushion on it. It looked uncomfortable.
Your eyes drifted up to the stars.
“C’mon,” you urge Georgia, turning around to find her waiting for you on the bed, laying on her side with her head propped up. You start tugging the blanket off of the bed, ignoring the way she exclaims in mock outrage.
“The fuck are you doin’?”
“I want to sit outside,” you explain, switching tactics and instead grabbing her hand, trying to tug her up- but she packs a lot of muscle in that body, and you can only get her to move a few inches before she braces herself and you’re stuck.
“It’s 1 in the morning?” She says, eyebrows furrowed as she looks out at the balcony.
“Yeah,” you deadpan. “The stars are out.”
She sighs.
“You really want to go out there?”
You tug on her again.
“Yes, Georgia, please come with me. I need someone to protect me from giant bats. Also, what if I see a giant spider, have a heart attack, and die right in front of you?”
She looks into your eyes.
“Please, Georgia.”
“I do like it when you say please like that,” she sighs, corners of her mouth ticking up into a smile. You grin and place a kiss onto the back of her hand.
“Please, please, please, please Georgia, my talented sexy girlfriend, will you please sit outside with me?”
“Fine,” she groans with a smile, letting you tug her up and gather the blanket in your arms. She opens the sliding glass door and gestures you through it, of course not letting you pass by her without smacking your ass.
She goes to the edge of the balcony, leaning against it and looking out down below to the street.
“It’s cold,” she groans.
You’ve already situated yourself in the somewhat uncomfortable chair, blanket spread out over you, a perfect view of the stars in front of you- the only thing missing is your girlfriend.
“That’s why I brought the blanket, duh.”
“Smart-ass,” she teases, and you smile and open up the blanket for her. “Sure you’re comfortable being so close to me? Sharing a blanket?”
“Shut up, Georgia.”
“Yes, ma’am,” she mumbles, mocking you under her breath, but when she finally puts her arms around you any bratty comeback in your head disappears.
Her arm is around your shoulders, your head is leaning against hers, your legs intertwined under the blanket.
“I love you,” you mumble, also letting out a yawn.
She turns her head towards you, that signature big smile taking up her entire face. She presses a kiss so softly to your hairline you think there’s no possible way she could show you she loves you more.
She lets her lips linger. That’s how you know she loves you. She’s always lingering around you- chasing after your hand when you let go, kissing you too hard and immediately going back in for more, hugging you for what could arguably be called too long- she never wants to let go of you.
“Love you too,” she finally replies. One of your arms finds it’s way around her neck, hand playing with the back of her hair, her humming softly in approval. “I wanna spend everyday like this.”
You laugh a little. “Me asleep on my feet, stressed the fuck out, annoying you about Australia in a random hotel in Melbourne?”
“I mean I wanna spend everyday with you. Doing something new everyday. Even if you annoy me about Australia.”
“Aw, mate, you’re so sweet,” you reply with a small smile. She seems to choose to ignore you, and you decide to be nice and drop the accent. “I want to do everything with you. Except, maybe somewhere with less giant flying bats. How about Paris?”
“Giant fucking bats,” she mumbles to herself, blowing out air. “Where the fuck are you getting that- y’know, nevermind. Yeah, let’s go to Paris.”
“Yay,” you mumble, yawning again as you close your eyes, the pretty stars shining behind your eyes.
“Baby,” Georgia starts after a second, very softly, caressing your face to keep you awake. “I’m not sleeping out here.”
You roll your eyes. “Fine,” you mumble, kicking your leg out. “We’d be fine though. But, if the big bad Aussie girl is scared of sleeping outside, that’s fine.”
“Okay,” she says, seemingly offended even as she helps you up, grabs the blanket and keeps you close to her. “I’m not scared, babe. I just want to sleep in an actual bed.”
“Sure,” you hum, throwing yourself onto the bed and feeling Georgia lovingly place the blanket over you before climbing in beside you.
She rests her head on your chest, and everything feels so good and so right you yawn one final time, eyes shutting in a way that you know they’re not opening again.
“Goodnight,” you whisper.
She kisses the bare skin of your chest, letting her lips linger.
“Goodnight, pretty girl.”

💌, 33 ,georgia amoore!
| called it puppy love
• pairing: georgia amoore x fem!reader
• prompt: “did you just confess your feelings for me?”
• warnings: none!
Since freshman orientation you and Georgia have been attached by the hip. You guys were the ones who got put into a random door together for the few days that the orientation lasted.
And due to Georgia’s outgoing personality you knew that you wouldn’t be able to get rid of her, which you didn’t want to. Then once you found out she was on the basketball team she made sure that you came to all of her games. From then on you two could always be found with each other.
Which is what led you here, Georgia lying under you as you sat on her legs applying makeup to her face. She had been begging you, for weeks now it seemed, to do her makeup. It wasn’t like the brunette didn’t know how to do her own, she wore little amounts of it, she just wanted to be close to you.
And finally not having practice at night, it seemed like the perfect chance to make you do this.
“Georgia, you actually have to close your eyes if you want me to do your eyeshadow,” you pouted as you sat above her holding an eyeshadow brush in one hand.
“Don’t do anything crazy while my eyes are closed,” she replied, biting back her smile as tried to remain serious, something very hard for her.
“Shut up and close your damn eyes,” you laughed as you nudged her shoulder and watched her eyes close. You placed your non dominant hand beside her hand to balance you while you leaned over her and covered the brush above her eyelid. “I’m gonna put the eyeshadow on now,” you told her, your voice barely above a whisper.
As you delicately swiped the powder over her lid you felt a warmth on your thighs, your eyes flicked down to them to see her hands resting against them. You could feel her stomach doing backflips at the sensation, but you had to stay focused.
Georgia had always been touchy. Almost as in a way that if she wasn’t touching you in some proximity she would die. She always had an arm around your shoulders, waist, or just her hand resting against your back.
You pushed away all of your romantic thoughts that you had about her because she probably just placed her hands there out of comfort. Maybe she felt awkward just having them lay beside her?
You finished the with base color on both lids before going in with an angle brush and a darker color to do a small wing. Her lids fluttered at the way the brush was so close to her lash line, “Sorry, I know it’s uncomfortable,” you apologized as you finished up the eye makeup.
“No, it’s fine,” she replied, her eyes still closed.
“You can open your eyes,” you giggled and watched her slowly open them, having them adjust to the soft lights around the room.
“God it’s bright,” she blinked her eyes rapidly.
“There’s like three lamps on. You’re fine,” you said shaking your head as you grabbed the mascara. “Do you wanna do it or do you want me to?” you asked holding the tube up.
“You can.”
“You sure?” you asked as you started to lean back down over her.
“Mhm,” she nodded her head slowly as she watched every movement of yours.
“I’m gonna hold the wand to your lashes and you just blink ok?” you started moving the wand closer to her green eyes.
“Kay,” she responded before you held the mascara to her lashes and she repeatedly blinked until you were satisfied with how her lashes were coated. You then moved to the other eye and did the same, then once you finished you closed the mascara tube and dropped it on the bed.
“Lips time!” you smiled as you pulled out your favorite tinted lipgloss. Georgia made duck lips at you and you laughed shaking your head at her, “Just relax.”
“No duck lips?” she frowned, her fingers tapping against your thighs.
You smiled as you shook your head and leaned down. Your hand came to her jaw as you began swiping the gloss against her lips. You could feel the way her eyes watched your every movement, suddenly becoming self conscious. “Stop looking at me like that you,” you let out a breath as you sat up and put the gloss back down.
“Like what?” she turned her head to the side, obviously playing dumb like she wasn’t looking at your lips like she was going to kiss you.
“Like you want to kiss me,” you said, as you got off her and started cleaning up the makeup. Georgia immediately sat up in the bed and watched you walked around your room, putting things away.
“Maybe I do,” she replied, her voice so calm it made you wonder if she was actually telling the truth.
“You’re not funny,” you shook your head biting back a smile.
“I wasn’t trying to be,” she replied and your heart felt like it was going to beat out of your chest.
“Georgia,” you turned around to see her sitting on the edge of the bed, her hands clasped together and sitting between her legs. “If you’re joking I’m gonna be really pissed,” you started walking towards her until you stood between the opening of her legs.
“I’m not,” her hands moved to your hips, her fingers playing with the waistband of your shorts. “I really fucking like you,” her voice was slightly above a whisper as she looked up to meet your eyes, trying to gauge a reaction from her confession.
“What?” you had to practically keep your jaw from hitting the floor. It was like your heart had been waiting to hear those words for as long as you had known her.
“I like you,” she repeated.
“I like you too,” you smiled, but she immediately brought you into a kiss. You could feel her smile against your lips as her hands pulled your body closer to hers.
You brought your hands to her jaw, pulling her even closer as her hands snaked around the backs of your legs, pulling you into her lap.
You could taste the mint of the lipgloss on her lips as her lips moved in unison with yours, but then she pulled back causing your eyebrows to curl upwards in confusion, wondering if you did something wrong.
“Wait, did you just confess your feelings for me, Y/L/N?” she smiled and you just shoved her, causing her to fall back on the bed.
“Shut up, Amoore,” you giggled, copying the her by saying her last name before your lips found hers once again.

—-
You weren’t exactly scared of flying, more so just constantly aware of every little thing that can go wrong.
“Darling, I love you very much so please don’t take this the wrong way.”
—-
“I seriously cannot believe you didn’t sleep that entire flight.”

“Hello? Who is it?”

I LOVE. I LOVE.
