Listen to my vision:
Shadowheart/Isobel/ Aylin all living the cottagecore farm life post canon.
Isobel reading her books and scrolls under a big tree with a pile of randomly animals. Puppies at her feet, kittens tucked into her robes and a baby goat that keeps trying to nibble on her papers
Aylin slowly gets some of her color back because she’s helping by hauling things around the farm. She keeps running around without a shirt (because she keeps ripping it) which is great entertainment for Isobel and Shadowheart both. Shadowheart does keep having to remind her that her parents live nearby so at least cover up a little bit. She’s regularly carrying a half grown cow like a it’s a baby and there is a dove that keeps trying to groom her wings if she has them out.
This is my vision.

Enjoy reading and send some requests!!!
-xoxo babygirl 💚
Brasil, o quanto eu amo (Brasil, how much I love you)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Brazilian sun poured golden light over the sands of Praia do Forte, casting a warm glow over the ocean waves. George stretched out on a beach towel, Carmen nestled beside him, and Yn lying on his other side. Carmen’s arm was securely wrapped around Yn’s waist, and George’s hand occasionally brushed over her shoulder, holding her close. They were a perfect picture of relaxation—yet just beneath that was a bubbling excitement, the thrill of experiencing something entirely new together.
"Can you believe this place?" George murmured, his blue eyes scanning the beach before settling on Yn. “You know, I thought Monaco was paradise, but Brazil might just have it beat.”
Yn laughed, the sound bright and infectious. "That’s what I’ve been telling you both! Brazil has its own kind of magic." She shifted, her fingers lightly tracing patterns on George's arm. “And this is only the beginning. You haven’t seen anything yet.”
Carmen leaned in, pressing a kiss to Yn’s cheek. "Then we’re in for an unforgettable trip," she whispered, her fingers curling around Yn’s waist just a little tighter. "You always know the best places to take us."
Yn’s cheeks flushed under Carmen’s touch and George’s gaze. She felt her heart skip, warmth blooming in her chest. This vacation had already been wonderful, but getting to show George and Carmen her favorite places in Brazil—her home—was something else entirely.
“Alright, so what’s next on the itinerary, love?” George asked, grinning. “You’ve got us hooked.”
Yn smiled, pulling away just enough to look at them both, her eyes dancing with excitement. “How about a bit of adventure? There’s a hidden waterfall not too far from here that barely anyone knows about. The hike there is through the rainforest—sound good?”
“Absolutely,” Carmen replied eagerly. “Anything you want to show us, we’re game.”
“Then let’s go!” Yn jumped to her feet, holding out her hands for George and Carmen, helping them up as they laughed and gathered their things.
---
The rainforest was alive with the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves, every step taking them deeper into the lush greenery. Yn led the way, effortlessly translating the occasional signs and pointing out the different plants and animals they encountered.
“Do you hear that?” Yn asked, pausing and tilting her head. Faintly, the sound of rushing water echoed through the trees. “We’re close.”
George slipped his hand into Yn’s, giving it a gentle squeeze. “Lead on, princess,” he said softly, brushing his lips over her knuckles.
Yn felt her heart flutter, glancing at Carmen, who had fallen in step on her other side, her hand resting on Yn’s waist as they walked. Carmen gave her a soft, knowing smile before leaning in and pressing a kiss to Yn’s lips.
They emerged from the trail to a breathtaking view. A secluded waterfall tumbled down into a crystal-clear pool surrounded by thick jungle. Sunlight streamed through the canopy above, casting dappled light over everything.
“It’s incredible,” Carmen breathed, her gaze sweeping over the scene before settling on Yn. “Thank you for bringing us here, Yn. I can’t imagine seeing this with anyone else.”
“Yeah,” George agreed, wrapping an arm around Yn’s shoulders. He bent down, brushing his lips against hers in a lingering kiss. “Thank you for sharing this with us. You really know how to make everything feel special.”
Yn smiled between them, feeling the weight of their words and their love all around her. “You’re both so easy to impress,” she teased, her voice soft. “But there’s nowhere I’d rather be than right here with you two.”
Carmen leaned in, resting her forehead against Yn’s, her fingers tracing Yn’s jaw as she murmured, “Then let’s enjoy every moment of it together.”
---
As the afternoon wore on, the three of them lounged beside the pool beneath the waterfall, dipping their feet in the cool water and soaking up the sun. Yn showed them how to greet others in Portuguese, taught them phrases to navigate the markets, and laughed as George tried—and failed—to imitate her accent.
“Como vai, George?” Yn asked, grinning as she tested him on the simple Portuguese phrase for “how are you?”
George furrowed his brows in concentration, repeating, “Como vai?” as he attempted to match her tone.
Yn giggled. “You’re getting better! By the end of this trip, you’ll be speaking like a Brazilian.”
“Only because I have the best teacher,” he replied, leaning forward to brush his lips over hers.
Carmen clapped her hands together. “Alright, my turn!” She smiled at Yn, eager to impress her. “How do you say, ‘I’m falling more in love with you every day’?”
Yn’s heart melted at the request. She took a breath and repeated softly, “Estou me apaixonando mais por você a cada dia.”
Carmen whispered the phrase back, her voice low, and kissed Yn again, sealing her words with her touch. George watched them with a tender smile, his hand resting over Yn’s on the warm rock where they sat.
As they lingered by the waterfall, laughter and kisses flowing freely, Yn thought of how much Brazil had always meant to her—and how much it now meant to share it with the people she loved.

After the whole mess with the Brotherhood is handled in Soft Boiked au, Wukong has another situation to handle. MK now knows he's a Stone Monkey, the same species as Wukong himself. He may also suspect Wukong to be his biological parent, although Wukong goes on record to say that no, Yubei was the only kid he actually birthed, MK may be his cub in his heart, but they share no biological connection that Wukong is aware of.
But even if MK isn't biologically Wukongs, they have the situation of his true form. Specifically, teaching MK how to Monkey. Wukong thinks it'd be easy, MK already acts so much like a monkey it's hard to imagine him struggling, but the problem isn't that he can't act like a monkey. It's that he doesn't have the confidence to do so knowingly. He can climb and groom just fine, but when it comes to things like diet and soaring through the trees, the way macaques do, he struggles. He gets grossed out at the thought of picking through someone's hair and eating bugs, he hesitates when he should use the branch he just climbed as a springboard to reach the next tree, he feels uncomfortable doing thinks like chirping and hooting. His upbringing makes him hesitate to listen to his natural instincts, and while it's nothing against Pigsy or Tang, it's just that societal expectations of modern China are causing MK to hold back.
Wukong had faced a similar problem when he'd gotten back from the Journey, after spending so many years being punished for 'hyperactive and unsocietal behavior' up until Tripitaka had it beaten over his head that Wukong was not only pregnant but that these were normal monkey things and not disrespectful in nature at all, he struggled to adapt to being a monkey again.
The fact that MK was already dealing with self esteem issues and then got stuck in a scroll with a ink demon in the shape of his monkey form that would only dig at those insecurities only made it worse.
Prev.
MK is in for a loooong learning montage after learning he's a Stone Monkey, thats for sure!
It's not an easy road.
Lots of "George of the Jungle"-esque mishaps involving tree climbing occur.
Could have it been a little easier if MK had been raised as a monkey demon? Yes. But he also would have faced greater social challenges, not to mention if any of Wukong's enemies "sensed" what he actually was.
And don't even get MK started on the "picking bugs out of each other's fur and eating"-part. He found a tiny garden spider crawling in Macaque's fur during a troop grooming session and nearly passed out.
MK, trying to psyche himself up to eat the bug: (*gags*) Macaque, sniffs himself thinking that's the problem: "What? I showered recently." Yuebei: (*reaches up and steals the bug from MK, eating it instead*) MK: (*very grossed-out sigh of relief*) "I love you, mooncake."
He feels like he's behind even little Yuebei of all people when it comes to learning to Monkey! At least she can chirp and hoot without anyone looking at her weirdly...
Wukong sighs and jokes it's like teaching two cubs at once.
Luckily, MK isn't alone. Turns out, Wukong has gone through the very same thing he has nearly twice over! Subodhi canonically strikes and punishes Wukong for happily jumping and hooting when he's excited for class, so Wukong literally had his instincts beaten out of him. And later still when he became Bimawen and a Peach Attendant, he found himself subconsciously suppressing his "monkey" habits in order to avoid criticism from surrounding celestials.
While the Tang Monk had been confused by Wukong's monkey habits, he adapted to them - with a lot of "gentle" persuasion from Guanyin, Ao Lie, Sha Wujing, and many of the allies they made along the way of course. Afterall, part of Tripitaka's character development is him starting out close-minded and opening himself to the fact that people just gonna act and be different. After Tripitaka learned that Heaven and even Wukong's first master had punished and resented his nature, he especially made sure Wukong understood that he didn't want him to see his behaviours as "unnatural". Just him.
MK also gets a lot of encouragement from the rest of his "troop".
Pigsy and Tang feel really bad not being able to indulge MK's natural behaviours as a cub, but they were always understanding that he was just their special little guy. If he was hyperactive or overstimulated, they had ways to address it. I love hcs of Tang being neurodivergent, so he when sees Baby MK throwing tantrums and just be like "Mood."
Red Son and Mei secretly begin flexing their own natural behaviours so MK doesn't feel as left out. Though MK was def confused the first time he got friendly-headbutts and nips.

Payal Mehta's Romance Revenge Plot by Preeti Chhibber Kokila
This laugh-out-loud debut romance introduces perfectly imperfect Payal Mehta, whose plan to get her long-time crush to finally notice her is destined for success, but only if she ignores her budding feelings for her archnemesis... Payal Mehta has had a crush on popular, athletic, all-around perfect Jonathan Slate ever since he smiled at her in freshman–year Spanish class. At a party during spring break of her junior year, Payal finally works up the courage to ask Jon to hang out. However, her romantic plans are derailed when he vomits on her Keds. Twice. But when Jon offers to take her out to lunch as an apology, Payal is convinced this is the start of their love story. Over chalupas and burritos at Taco Bell, Payal's best jokes are landing as planned. Jon is basically choking on his Coke—and then it happens. "Do you have a boyfriend?" Payal is (finally) about to get the guy. And then he tries to set her up with his Indian friend. Payal's best friends, Neil Patel and Divya Bhatt, are just as mad about the microaggression as Payal is, but they think she’s a little too hung up on him. Determined to teach Jon a lesson by making him fall for her, Payal ropes in her archnemesis, Philip Kim, to help by ceding creative control over their psych project. It’s the perfect plan. Minus Philip’s snarky, annoying quips and lack of faith in its success. But as Payal lies to the people she loves, hides the too-Indian parts of herself in front of her crush, and learns that maybe Philip isn't the worst, she starts to wonder if what she's been looking for has been scowling at her all along...

How Human is your Animal?
Based on animalistic representation in Media. Ranging from anthropomorphic to everyday pet.
A tier list for your convenience
S Tier- Humans don’t exist here
Qualifications: the world has no humans, animals tend to walk on hind legs and participate in human like societies, most likely anthropomorphic but not required
Zootopia, Kung Fu Panda, Sing, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Chicken Little, My Little Pony, Goofy Movie, Ducktales, Robin Hood, Angry Birds, Samurai Rabbit, Paws of Fury, Spiderhams Universe
A Tier- I see, a little co-op happening
Qualifications: the world has humans, humans acknowledge animals in some way, they can be hired/considered for jobs and/or are active in society. Might be considered mutants
Paddigton, Muppets, Stuart Little, The Bad Guys, Pinnocio, Shrek universe, Care Bears, the Bee Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3, and subsequently the entire MCU, Monsters Inc, Storks, Looney Tunes, TMNT, MHA, Yogi Bear, We Bare Bears, Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022), Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Hop, Wonderland, James and the Giant Peach, Hoodwinked, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Ichabod and Toad, Sonic Movie
B Tier- Your getting suspiciously close
Qualifications: act more human like, perhaps develop a hidden society or walk on hind legs or plan elaborate heists, it’s just not quite right for an animal
Madagascar, Ice Age, Shark Tale, Surfs Up, Snoopy, Rescuers, SpongeBob, Ratatouille, Horton Hears a Who, Free Birds, Great Mouse Detective, Chicken Run, Flushed Away, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Tom and Jerry, Secret of Nym, Tale of Desperaeux, American Tail, Once Upon a Forest, Garfield, Over the Hedge, Rango
C Tier- Communication is key in fostering animal relationships
Qualifications: Perhaps by magical transformation or special gift or something that has always been kept a secret until now, these animals are able to talk to you
Cinderella, Tarzan, Jungle Book, Epic, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Charlottes Web, Scooby Doo, Happy Feet, Snow White, Pete’s Dragon, Princess and the Frog, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Spies In Disguise, Emperors New Groove, Enchanted, Sophia the First, Peter Rabbit, Meet the Robinsons, Anastasia, Swan Princess, Dr. Dolittle, Leo, Up
D Tier- Oh look, it’s gaining complexity
Qualifications: although animals have been known to convey emotions nothing is more complex than creating Shakespearean like storylines. Humans take to the sidelines
Lion King, Finding Nemo, 101 Dalmatians, Bambi, Land Before Time, The Secret Life of Pets, Bugs Life, Oliver and Company, All Dogs go to Heaven, Lady and the Tramp, Fox and the Hound, Aristocats, Migration, Bolt, Dinosaur, The Good Dinosaur, Super Pets, Dumbo, Home in the Range, G-force, The Wild, Spirit, Rio, Curious George
F Tier- It’s all okay, animals are just animals here
Qualifications: Imagine your pet in a movie, that’s prolly what fits here. The everyday dog, or cat, or shark. Likely plays a part in the plot progression of the movie
Babe, Jurassic Park, Milo and Otis, Old Yeller, Life of Pi, Sword in the Stone, Beethoven, A Dogs Purpose, We Bought a Zoo, Pokémon, Dolphins Tale, Homeward Bound, The Black Stallion, Marley and Me, Jaws, King Kong, How to Train Your Dragon
Z Tier- So it doesn’t work like other places, but it works for you
Qualifications: a Universe with its own set of rules, perhaps jumping into a place outside of their own where rules seem just a little different. Who can say if it was real, or a dream?
Mary Poppins, Spiderverse, Fantasia, Mario Bros, Song of the South, Alice in Wonderland (cartoon), Calvin and Hobbes
Each placing is based on the highest human to animal ratio in universe even if that is one exception. This is for fun, don’t take it too seriously. You’re welcome to fill in anything you think is missing. If I mentioned one of your favorite movies you have to reblog, I don’t make the rules.

Rating Taylor Swift songs based on how they would be perceived by medieval peasants*: Debut
*context: I'm imagining showing medieval peasants how awesome the future is by playing them the greatest music of our day and age (Taylor obviously). I am also trying to have them not go insane nor have me be accused of witchcraft.
Tim McGraw: Jeans? Chevy truck? Radio? Georgia??? There hasn't even been a king named George let alone a state or country.... but that moon really DOES shine like a light on the lake and provide light to dance to all night. The vibes of the song are still there. 5/10
Picture to Burn: redneck? pickup truck? The relationship status is VERY confusing here because she is telling his friends he's gay (jolly) and then striking a match with someone (in a romantic sense?) and then admits to adultery ("goin' out with all of your best friends"). Fairly unsettling. 3/10
Teardrops on my Guitar: what's a guitar and why are you crying on it? Also a car? You have his picture and yet he's in love with another girl??? This is scandalous and tragic. 7/10 for relatability.
A Place In This World: a girl traveling down a road not knowing where she is headed? She must be a traveling performer! Maybe a jester! Good for her! How freeing life must be without a master. Although who knows what a radio or blue jeans are? 9/10
Cold as You: She was in love with an an artist (he painted his walls gray) and he rejected her? I wonder if it was social class differences or something else? This song hits hard regardless of the age. 10/10
The Outside: So has she been shunned or does she simply not have a master? Is this the traveling performer from a couple songs ago? Tbh it all makes sense but its pretty unrelatable. 4/10
Tied Together With a Smile: the waters high and you're jumping into it and letting go😳 and no one knows 💀 I knew serfdom was bad but wow it's BAD bad. That's depressing but relatable 8/10
Stay Beautiful: jungle and radio? Weird start but Cory seems highly sought after. I wonder who will pay the highest dowry for marriage? He seems like a wonderful muse. 7/10
Should've Said No: So I don't know the situation... your class will greatly affect this... but you know women may legally divorce their husbands for adultery, right? I do reccomend it. 3/10 because the vibes are NOT like the normal medieval music
Mary's Song: Brava!!! An arranged marriage that's also a love match? Unheard of! After the marriage, the property is even inherited!!! What a lovely start for family life. There was one confusing word? Truck? Idk the romance was so perfect I didn't even notice it. 10/10!!!!
Our Song: Half those words don't exist and the ones that do don't really make sense. Good job respecting the sanctity of God. The Church ™️ would approve. Still it's a 2/10
I'm Only Me When I'm With You: What does crazy mean? What do you mean you're flying? We're missing context but this could be a lower class marriage? :/ 6/10
Invisible: There's a fire inside him? She is invisible spying on him? This SCREAMS of witchcraft. Please do not play this song for a medieval peasant. You will be collateral damage in the trial and will likely also be burned at the stake. 1/10
A Perfectly Good Heart: First loves! What a luxury! You know very few people marry for love as relationships are to further the agenda of God🙏 apologies for the betrayal but hopefully your parents can pay the dowry for a better man. 5/10 just because this song isn't pleasing to the ears of the time

Valencia Forest Camp Mountain Resort is an expansive property in the foothills of Valencia, with its natural beauty blended into the green jungle surroundings it comprises. This family-owned and run resort is a common destination for locals looking for a nature escape without having to stray too far from Dumaguete City.
The swimming pools at Forest Camp Valencia are the biggest draw, attracting travelers from all over the world to see or hear pictures of the incredible cascading pools. There are so many to count, spread around the whole house, so you shouldn't have to share with so many others on the busiest of days. The water is chemical-free, naturally pumped out of the river that flows across the grounds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the dialect ‘pula’ means red while ‘bato’ means rock, hence the name Pulangbato (Red Rock). Like many other waterfalls, swimming lagoons and pools in the town of Valencia, Pulangbato Falls is blessed with calm and refreshing waters. This is mainly because of Valencia’s geography – 60% of its land composition being hilly and mountainous – that the climatic temperature is always moderate to cool.
It is also the color of the water in Pulangbato Falls that makes it more special. It appears to be red but quickly turns clear once taken out from the river. It must be only a reflection of the red rock formations that make up most of the landscape. Surrounding the waterfall is thick foliage of wild plants and vegetation coupled with some trees. The ambience is rather calming in an unsophisticated kind of way because of the impression of being far from civilization. To get down to the base of falls you must walk across the photogenic bridge and down a few small steps. Another featured spot along the Pulangbato is the Red Rock Hot Spring where one can take a dip at the calming waters that flows from the river, and the Sulfur Vents, with its sulfuric smoke coming from the stone walls smells like rotten eggs (but it is bearable haha).

Although we know that both Javi P and Frankie are sweet angels who can do no wrong (wanting to leave CI’s to die? Working with death squads? Leaving a pregnant/post-natal wifey and a baby to rob a drug Lord in a jungle? No, I don’t know them 🌚😂), I’ve recently had this thought that I can’t get out of my head.
Which of the two is the biggest fuck boy? Like, if they were both in that same stereotypical jock guy group that everyone either loves or hates in high school, who’s got the potential to be the bigger dick? Who’s doing the bullying rather than the sticking up for the person being bullied?
I can see the potential for them both tbf. I feel like the obvious way to think would be Javi based purely on the ‘sleeping around’ assumption, and that always seems to be a big thing in that, again stereotypical, high schooly type vibe, however I think that Frankie could have a streak like that in him for sure.
Idk, it’s fun to imagine bc Frankie being intentionally mean to anyone just because he feels like it? We do see javi being mean in the way that he’s shouting at folk (ahhh help I’m thinking of him wrapping his hand round that girls throat in s2 🥵 Yoire braking my fckn heart baby AAAHHHHH 😭) and being a sassy little bitch.
I do feel like they both, in their own stories, have the potential to be (or even have been in their past) this way, but I just think it’d be interesting to take them completely canon-divergent. Who’s the biggest Regina George?
I’m unsure that this has been a rational thought process to follow and for that I apologise! 😂
Some javi/frankie tax for your troubles of figuring out my train of thought hahaha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay, so i love the tax. both of them. two of my FAVE scenes ever, like the hiss and the tie will forever be unmatched.
so, your question has layers because a fuck boy to me isn't someone who would bully someone? so i think neither of them. i think they'd have their moments where they'd say something cutting, snarky and possibly leaning towards mean (because like people do say hurtful things). now, canon-divergent who do i think could be a horrible bloody bitch, I'm going to say frankie. he's quick to anger, quick to lash out (as we see even with Pope). he apologises, but if we're AU'ing it, I'm going to say him.
now, who do i think is casually sleeping around, being a bit fuck-boy-ish, I'm also going to say frankie.
i hope i kinda answered? but i did answer twice so... im taking my cookie :D

Life With Derek and Taylor Swift Songs
Songs I associate with Life With Derek, mainly Dasey, from Taylor Swift, and the stories I imagine in my head instead of properly writing them (until now, I guess) If there's any I missed that you have ideas for let me know, and yes this is long.
Tim McGraw: Casey Mcdonald and the way her blue eyes shine. Honestly, this is the type of song Casey would write. It’s cute, storytelling, and detailed. I imagine her writing this song not based on her experience but on a day when her hopeless romantic side feels sad. She imagines what she hopes to have but does not have. She wrote it when she first moved in with the Venturi’s or before Nora and George met.
Picture To Burn: There’s the obvious answer, where this could be about any of Casey’s exes. But honestly, I imagine Casey being dramatic and writing this song after Vicky kissed that boy she had a crush on. Or Vicky dating another guy Casey liked after the guy used Casey to get close to Vicky.
Tear Drops On My Guitar: Another song about Casey being dramatic. But also Derek sad boy hours. He’s glumly playing his guitar and that inspires Casey to write the song, since she doesn’t own a guitar. But don’t tell Derek she wrote a song inspired by him, and don’t tell Casey what that implies… she’ll figure it out eventually…
A Place In This World: Casey Mcdonald. I think this one doesn’t really need an explanation, to be honest.
Cold As You: Could possibly be about Dennis or Abby walking away, but I honestly can’t think of anything for this one. Maybe Casey writes something like this about Vicky after being really mean at one point.
Tied Together With A Smile: Derek Venturi. This could be seen in Casey too a little bit, but she doesn’t try to appear as perfectly fine a lot of the time. She does when it comes to school stuff, but not with her emotions. Derek is the one to put on a fake smile, make a joke and manage to hide what he feels a lot of the time. Even if he isn’t hiding it well, he still isn’t as open about it right away.
The Outside: When Casey first starts at her new school
Stay Beautiful: Cory’s eyes are like a jungle and his butt is gonna sue! I regret nothing. Could be a cute Dasey song, but I just keep remembering Corey Plunkett.
Should’ve Said No: Truman or Scott the cheating scums
Mary’s Song (Oh My My My):  Dasey or Nora and George. I personally imagine Casey finding an old journal of Felicia’s and writing this about some of the entries. Maybe it was about Felicia and her husband before the divorce or an old high school romance.
I’m Only Me When I’m With You: Smarti and Smerek. Or the entire family together
Fearless: Dasey. Enough said.
Fifteen: “In your life, you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team.” This song is just so Casey coded and with everything that happened with Max I feel like Casey just really needed a song like this at the time and i see this being one of her favourite songs from Taylor.
Love Story: Dasey. I have this idea called The Shakespeare Debate it’s still a working idea, but it is Dasey. It’s basically Casey being really into plays and thinking Derek doesn’t respect them, Derek being really into film and script analysis and actually enjoying the dark tragedies of shakespeares plays. I also kind of made a whole debate scene where Derek manages to bring up Carrie while talking about Romeo and Juliet just to confuse Casey and end the conversation, but it actually makes sense and that confuses her even more.
White Horse: I just find this song so pretty and Casey being very into fairytales she would totally be into white horses
You Belong With Me: Emily whenever Derek is seeing a girl that isn’t her. Especially when he was dating Kendra
The Way I Loved You: Dasey
The Best Day: God smiles on my little brother, inside and out he’s better than I am. Makes me think of Derek and Edwin. I see Derek actually thinking very highly of Edwin and with his self esteem he probably thinks of everyone very highly compared to himself.
Change: Casey might be scared of change, but I see this song with her.
Superstar: Derek Venturi
Crazier: “Not telling her is driving me crazy.” Dasey. After the whole Scott thing and Derek  realises he likes Casey. He hates himself for writing such a sappy song, but he also likes that he managed to write a song.
Mine: So freaking Dasey coded are you kidding me!
Back To December: Derek and Kendra
Speak Now: Derek when Casey married Peter. The kids are against George and Nora getting married in the beginning. Everyone going against Fiona’s wedding because dear god that was awful
Mean: Seems like a song Casey would write
Never Grow Up: Smarti and Smerek
Enchanted: Imagine after junior prom Derek with his guitar in the white jacket. Or maybe it’s sitting nicely draped over the foot of his bed as he is sitting on the floor at the foot of his bed after leaving early once Sally’s boyfriend comes to whatever diner they ended up in. He hears Casey, Max, Sheldon and Emily pull up from his windows at the front of the house as he writes a song about how he realised he’s in love with Casey that night when he saw her coming down the stairs to the living room in a beautiful dress that he actually found, not Emily.
Better Than Revenge: Dedicated to Vicky and Truman. CD Rock totally performed this and Derek was very encouraging of the anger.
Haunted: My favourite song on the album and I mainly think about Dasey just because of the sound. The orchestra rock sound is a perfect combination for Derek and Casey.  It can be loosely inspired by Derek and Caseys anger towards Dennis and Abby after they left. It could simply be a song one of them wrote or they both wrote together, after a breakup. The fic idea i have is Derek writing this based more so on an actual haunted experience and from hearing ghost stories. Casey's classical did inspire him a little bit.
Last Kiss: I imagine this being a cute song for Sally and Derek when she moves to Vancouver. But also “I'm not one for dancing but for you I did.” Works for both Dasey and Sally and Derek. He did take her to the dance.
Long Live: Just Life With Derek as a show
Ours: Cute George and Nora song. Felicia was against them, the kids had to grow with it. It just a cute song for them too me.
Electric Touch: A CD Rock song sung by Casey and Derek. The first time Derek manages to actually sing in front of people properly without psyching himself out.
I Can See You: Dasey. But also (even though I don't ship them) I can see this as a Truman and Casey song when she's in her rebellious phase
Castles Crumbling: After Casey breaks up with Max and she quits cheerleading,  and she is trying to find herself again. Also her transition from being popular at her old boarding school and starting at a public school. The haunting feel to it makes me think of haunted and since its a duet makes me think of Derek and Casey working on this song together after her and Max breakup, which is after the episode where Casey helps him write a song for Sally. They work together on a few songs after the episode.
Timeless: The epitome of Dasey for me. Just like Mine. I see both Casey and Derek writing this song by themselves, but I really like the idea of Derek writing it though.
Safe and Sound: In Life With Luca Skylar mentioned that Derek would sing her to sleep because the dark freaked her out. I just imagine this as a lullaby he would sing to her and Marti with his guitar.
State of Grace: Dasey
Red: Casey reflecting on her relationship with Max possibly. Derek and Casey write it together and that's where we get the guitar solo
Treacherous: Dasey
I Knew You Were Trouble: Casey dedicates this to Truman
All Too Well: Someone made a really good edit to the 10 minute version for Dasey
I Almost Do: Derek almost tells Casey his feelings multiple times. Wants to call her multiple times while he's out of the country as well, and she wants to call him multiple times despite being with Peter.
Never Ever Getting Back Together: Casey and Sams on again off again relationship
Stay Stay Stay: I can picture Derek showing up in his hockey helmet after his first fight with Kendra.
Last Time: Dasey duet… possibly
Everything Has Changed: “freckles in your smile” Duet with Derek playing guitar.
The Moment I Knew: change up a few lyrics this can be used for absent parents on someone's birthday. I picture this one from Derek's perspective, though since it mentions Christmas lights and I'm Sixteen Smartplugs aired on November 5th, making him a November baby. I don't know the date production wise.
Better Man: Same as The Moment I Knew, but with Casey and Dennis. Some minor changes and the song works well with a dad who wasn't around.
A Message In A Bottle: “You got me hypnotised, by freckles and bright eyes.” this entire song I feel like Casey would dedicate to Derek. She might've been late in telling Derek her feelings before he left for Paris, but this was the best she could do.
Welcome To New York: Casey's year in New York
Blank Space: I think this works for Derek's persona he had in the beginning of the show. Casey definitely viewed him this way before finding out he's actually a really good date.
Style: Dasey. Sidenote: I also picture Derek having his bisexual moment in College with this song. Derek can have his James Dean and his feelings for Casey at the same time.
Out Of The Woods: Dasey
Shake It Off: Someone made a really good edit for Casey to this song. But also Dereks crazy legs. That's enough said.
Wildest Dreams: Dasey
This Love: Dasey
I Know Places: Dasey. Also Derek's secret boyfriend while his band takes off. I have a full story idea about that. I guess his hidden relationship with Skylar's mom works as well.
Clean: Derek eventually having to let go of Casey after she marries Peter and has Luca.
You're In Love: Dasey
Dancing With Our Hands Tied: Dasey. There's a nice edit to this song someone made as well.
Cruel Summer: “He looks up grinning like the devil!” I'd so Derek coded you can't tell me otherwise.
The Archer: Casey and her anxiety, but also Derek and his which isn't as obvious then Casey's but she can see through him when it does come up the same way he can see through her.
Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince: Dasey. “Ripped up my prom dress.”
The 1: Dasey
Exile: “you never gave a warning sign” “I gave so many signs.” I feel like this part in particular is very Dasey coded. But Derek is Taylor's POV and Casey is Bon Iver's. Derek gave so many signs about his feelings for Casey, but Casey took longer to noticed then took even longer to finally think about the possibility to actually give it a try, by then though Derek left for Paris. I don't believe he just up and left with no warning, he definitely had his warnings Casey was either in New York or wasn't taking them seriously. Our boy tried leaving for Spain and Vancouver he was wanting to leave for a while, once he finally had a good reason he took it and the reason was 100% Skylar's mom going to Paris while pregnant.
This Is Me Trying: both Derek and Casey can relate to this one. Lizzie can throw into the mix too, especially in Vacation With Derek.
Illicit Affairs: Dasey. Theres a really good edit to this as well.
Tis The Damn Season: Dasey
Tolerate It: Even without knowing too much about Peter, I think this works for how Casey feels about her marriage. This could also work for a lot of her relationships on the show as well. Max and Sam were simply tolerating her feelings, but that's really it.
Anti-hero: both Casey and Derek coded
You're On Your Own Kid: I see this more for Derek.
Midnight Rain: I can see this working for Dasey
Question…?: I can see this working for Dasey as well.
Paris: I think this one is pretty obvious.
Hope you enjoyed this!

Tumblr media
In a darkened lecture hall, lit only by images projected on a screen showing dense jungle foliage, in Miskatonic University a talk by Professor George Samuel Burk, recently returned from a long sabbatical, continues.
“Throughout the years, stories of fabled lost cities have made their way into the public’s mind, captivating the world’s imagination, and in the case of such well-known ones as El Dorado, it’s dreams of greed.
Others have enjoyed less fame by, comparison while having no less a fantastic story.
One of these is the so-called City of Z. The City of Z, theorized to have been swallowed by the dense jungles of the Brazilian rainforest, has been sought by many explorers.
In 1925, after hearing of the city’s potential existence, a British surveyor named Percival Harrison Fawcett set out to uncover its location with two compatriots.
They were never heard from again; since then, nearly one hundred people also disappeared while searching for Fawcett and his fabled City of Z.”
“I have solved what happened to Fawcett and the others,” says the speaker as the projected image changes with a click.
Tumblr media
“Here we see an accurate depiction of Fawcett meeting the leaders of the City of Z, headed by its chief Shaman as described by Percival Harrison Fawcett himself in his still existing journal, which I have found in the City of Z itself.”
“He told how he was welcomed into the City and given a gift of a heavy gem- and crystal-laden necklace, which quickly began to grow strangely warm.”
“Soon, the heat of the charm grew almost unbearable, so much so that he passed out from it.”
A click and the next slide appears.
Tumblr media
“When he awoke, he found he had undergone a miraculous transformation and had become a native woman of the City of Z. Shortly after that, his two companions were also so changed."
"As also happened to others who came after them over the years."
The projector clicks again.
Tumblr media
“Here we see a restored image of the transformed Percival Harrison Fawcett rendered by one of his companions who was also an artist.”
“She then known as Xoc Tzentel Amoxpopoca of the Land Beyond the Mist, holding her only remnant former life as an Englishman, his old water canteen.”
Snickers are heard coming from the audience in the darkened lecture hall.
Tumblr media
“I know you must doubt this,” says Professor Burk.
There is another click, and the picture is changed to one of him taken a year before his sabbatical.
“Many of you knew me before, for I left to seek and find the City of Z.”
Tumblr media
A double click and the photo of Professor Burk disappears, and the house light comes up, revealing the speaker.
“I, George Samuel Burk, can tell you from personal experience that it is all true. Because I, too, have felt the power of Zacatzonihqui, the goddess of welcoming travelers into the tribe, also known as the Maiden Maker. And I am looking for those open to joining me for a full extended research trip to the City of Z.”
“I guarantee you it will be life-changing!”

Soul Power Kinshasa Zaire 1974 Muhammad Ali ,James Brown,Bill Withers, and a host of other international stars.
This is a historical document - because there will never be another Rumble in the Jungle.. especially with this type of stage presence.  Imagine, Zaire.. Man
https://www.theguardian.com/film/2009/jul/12/soul-power-james-brown
Leon Gast's brilliant fly-on-the-wall film When We Were Kings won the Oscar for best documentary when it was released in 1997. It told the surreal story of the "rumble in the jungle", the extraordinary heavyweight fight in Zaire in 1974 when Muhammad Ali beat George Foreman to win back his world title against the odds.
The fight was the main event, but a three-day music festival, called Zaire '74, also took place in Kinshasa, featuring some of the heavyweights of American soul, African pop and Latin-American jazz. It was headlined by the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown, who was brought to Africa, alongside the Detroit Spinners, Bill Withers and BB King, by the festival organisers, Stewart Levine and South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela. Also in town for the concert were Stokely Carmichael, the black power figurehead, and Don King, the motor-mouth boxing promoter.
Soul Power tells the story of the festival and its myriad characters in an impressionistic swirl of images and music. It begins with the organisers frantically trying to build a stage, install a PA and hold it all together as the musicians start arriving. When James Brown and Ali enter the same dressing room, there is barely enough oxygen left even for Don King. The jive talk is non-stop, but it's the music that mesmerises - and the audience's wild reaction to it. BB King wows the crowd with the restrained power of The Thrill is Gone, Bill Withers bravely slows things down with the brooding ballad Hope She'll be Happier, and Brown climaxes with - what else? - Say it Loud: I'm Black and I'm Proud, which, had there been a roof on the stadium, would have taken it clean off.
The vibe is celebratory throughout despite the hassles, the various besuited business opportunists and the great big elephant in the room - President Mobutu and his years of corruption and misrule. Given that it is 35 years since the concert and fight took place, one might have hoped from some retrospective wisdom from some of the surviving performers. That one quibble aside, Soul Power is a riveting glimpse of another time and another place, when things were more radical and more gloriously ramshackle. Where was Fela Kuti, though?

George of the Jungle (1997, dir. Sam Weisman)
Tumblr media
The first week of a year still counts as holiday time, right? So I wanted my second movie of this year to be a quite classic guilty pleasure (even though I don't think someone has to feel guilty about liking a movie).
So here is No. 2, George of the Jungle! Why has no one told me about how well this movie aged? At first I couldn't decide whether i'd like to use this gif or one of George's sexy smexy little dance in Ursula's dress.
Honestly, as much as I adore Brendan Fraser it is truly a shame I didn't watch this movie earlier. It feels ridiculous to try writing anything about it, there are various amazing posts analyzing how this movie doen't look down on its female lead and how its a prime example for a reversing of the male gaze. Just imagine I wrote down some intelligent stuff here.
So off to the next one.
