Crossing my fingers!!!
youtube
Queen Camilla will most likely arrive at Westminster Abbey bareheaded like Queen Alexandra, Queen Mary, and Queen Elizabeth but she may choose to wear the Diamond Diadem like Queen Elizabeth II.
The Diamond Diadem (also called the State Diadem or the George IV Diadem) was created in 1820 by Rundell, Bridge, & Rundell for King George IV to wear during his 1821 coronation. He wore it over a Spanish hat with feathers on the way to Westminster Abbey.
It has since only been worn by women and it occupies a weird space between a crown and a tiara. Previous queens used it a bit more generally just like any other tiara but Queen Elizabeth II only used it for more ceremonial events like the coronation and state opening of Parliament. I don't see the tiara going back to being used as a regular tiara since everyone is so used to the way Queen Elizabeth II wore it. Even if Queen Camilla doesn't use the Diamond Diadem tomorrow, I hope that they release a formal portrait of her wearing it soon.

Yesterday, Queen Camilla accompanied The King to the State Opening of Parliament on what is also her 77th birthday.
For the event she wore King George IV’s Diamond Diadem. The Diamond Diadem was made by Rundell & Bridge for the Coronation of King George IV in 1820. With the bill for the diadem amounted to the sum of £8,216.
The diadem is surmounted by four crosses-pattée, the front cross set with a pale yellow brilliant, and four sprays representing the national emblems of the United Kingdom: roses for England, shamrock for Ireland, and thistles for Scotland.
These are the elegant earrings from Camilla’s pear-shaped diamond demi-parure. She’s been wearing the set, which includes a matching necklace, for almost two decades. The set was rumoured to be a gift from her husband.

Tiara Predictions: State Opening of Parliament
Today, 17th July 2024, King Charles will be opening Parliament following the General Election and the formation of the new Labour Government where he will be delivering the King’s Speech. He will be accompanied by Queen Camilla.
And now to the predictions…
The tiara I want Camilla to wear: the crown of Queen Mary and Queen Camilla without the arches. Both Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth wore a modified version of their crowns to the State Opening of Parliament while their husbands were King so I’d love it if Camilla did the same. The crown was last worn in May 2023 for the Coronation of King Charles III.
My Prediction: George IV Diadem. This tiara was worn by Queen Elizabeth for every State Opening of Parliament until she stopped wearing regalia, therefore it’s very likely that Camilla will continue with this tradition. It was last worn in November for the previous State Opening of Parliament.

Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla in attendance at the State Opening of Parliament on 7 November 2023, in which His Majesty gave the first King's Speech in over 70 years.
The King is wearing the Imperial State Crown, the Robe of State, and the dress uniform of the Admiral of the Fleet, over which he wears the riband of the Royal Victorian Order. The Queen is wearing the George IV Stated Diadem, which was designed in 1820 for George IV, but has since been worn by every queen regnant or queen consort since Queen Adelaide, the wife of William IV (George IV's successor). The Queen is also wearing the same dress that she wore to the Coronation.
Her Royal Highness Anne, Princess Royal, was appointed by her brother, The King, to serve as Gold-Stick-in-Waiting, a role in which the holder is entrusted with the monarch's safety. It is the same position she held during the Coronation. The Princess Royal wore the full regalia of Colonel of the Blues and Royals, to which she added the green riband of the Order of the Thistle and the collar and star of the Order of the Garter.

GVF AS TIARAS I NEED THIS
Danny: Yugoslavian Kokoshnik Tiara (I feel like Danny is made for a kokoshnik tiara, so powerful, perfectly balanced by his features)
Jake: King George IV State Diadem (very kingly, and I feel like the British cross is reminiscent of the old English coin symbolism he likes)
Josh: Pauline Bonaparte’s Wheat Tiara (tiaras with wheat, laurel, or olive branches perfectly fit what Josh is about; peace and prosperity)
Sammy: Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara (for everyone's favorite youngest child princess, classic delicate elegance)
#gvf as#i spent WAYYY too long researching and photo hunting for this lmao#greta van fleet#gvf#danny wagner#jake kiszka#josh kiszka#sam kiszka#asked#let me know if you want an anon name#letters from the author

Do you think Queen Camilla will ever wear the George IV State Diadem in the future? If so, when? All the past queen regnants and queen consorts have worn it. Btw I love your blog
Thanks for the love :)
Oh dear, I don't know. It could look lovely on her and she might be wearing it for a portrait at some point in the future. Maybe? :D I don't know...

One piece of jewelry I hope Queen Cam wears first is the Girls tiara. The meltdown of those who feel she “has no right” to jewels will be EPIC 🍿😈
Isn't she rumored or believed to be wearing the George IV state diadem on the way to the coronation?
I imagine they'll be having huge fits about that. Because that tiara is a big deal.
And all the other tiaras Camilla is going to wear over the years.
Will their doctors need to prescribe them blood pressure meds so that they don't stroke out?
Could be.
