1. he's an intense guy himself. there were other factors, such as "he's the protagonist" and "he's a major element of literally all of jcs trauma" but jc was not acting particularly mindful or demure when he genuinely believed that wwx was alive for years & years past his death, for example. jc is also capable of hypocrisy of course but

2. is there anything in the world that jc values more in another person than loyalty? and perhaps open undeniable expressions of care, although thats more of an inference. his up close experiences with marriage were 1. his parents and 2. his sisters marriage and now 3. wangxian. were any of these examples drama free? nay. one can speculate that his oft cited list of requirements was him saying "literally anyone But my mother" or "maybe someone like my sister and are there actually any other women in lotus pier these days? hello" <- which i think goes to show that his development in these matters has been shadowed by these experiences good and bad. he shivers in fear at a repeat situation of his childhood. hes not gonna want you to be jfm! he doesnt want to be yzy! he... wants love??? 🥺

3. genre convention of the romance novel youre transmigrating into would support romantic endeavors especially one so dramatic as yours. this is a weaker argument bc i dont think jc ever really gets a win fr in mdzs and you would be one

4. unless you want to suck jc (🫣) into this world, which, ok, not ideal i think, but he would need to rely on your worldly wisdom for a bit. the language barrier would be your first hurdle but then he would of course fall in love! im sure.
