AN: Surprise shawtyyy! I was fighting demons to keep a poker face up until this point lolol also normally, I'd have a follow up post for Tuesday if I post on a Monday - but next update will be later this week, as I'm at the point where I'm just straight up making poses for the whole thing lol. Malcolm: Are they done yet? This is boring!
Jonathan: You don’t get it.
Malcolm: Get what!
Jonathan: Mom and Dad. They’re in love and stuff.
Malcolm: Bleh!
Nancy: [whispers] I’m sorry.
Geoffrey: Hm? What for?
Nancy Narrates: [For betraying you]
Nancy Narrates: [For always wanting more when this should be enough]
Nancy Narrates: [You don’t deserve this..]
Nancy: [whispers] Nothing. Nevermind.
-
Jonathan: What happened? What’s wrong with Mom?
Geoffrey: She’s ok, she just needs to rest-
Malcolm: Is it cause she’s drunk?
Geoffrey: Malcolm- Ok, how about you two find a movie for us to watch for boy’s night and I’ll get Mommy ready for bed.
Geoffrey: Nance. I need you to sit up so I can get your night gown on.
Nancy: Mhm.. s’fine.
Geoffrey: [snorts] Alright, suit yourself. Don’t try and steal all the blankets when you get cold tonight.
Nancy: [whimpers] M’ gonna be better, Geoffrey. M’so sorry..
Geoffrey: There you go, apologizing again. You know it’s ok if you do steal them, right, silly? I run hot at night any...anyway-
-
Nancy Narrates: [I made a silent promise to my family that I’ll never stray away from them again. I would make it right, somehow]
Deacon: Today we gather to reflect on the sacred gift of family. God created humanity in His image. From the beginning, we see family is part of His design.
Deacon: It is within our families that we first encounter unconditional love that mirrors God’s own love for us all.
Priest: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Nancy: Amen. [softly] Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It has been- [exhales] a while since my last confession.
Priest: What is troubling you, my child?
Nancy: I’ve- fallen prey to my weakness for the same sex. I fear what I’ve done will ruin my family.
Priest: Have you struggled with this before?
Nancy: I’ve never really acted on it, until now.
Priest: How do you feel about what you’ve done?
Nancy: Guilt. Shame. Disgust.
Priest: My daughter, these emotions are a sign of your conscience at work. You have acted against your own values. You know these unnatural ways is not in accordance to God’s design. For your penance, I want you to spend time in prayer and consider the harm you’ve caused for yourself and for your soul.
-
Judith: Oh, brother. He said that?
Nancy: It’s nothing I’ve never heard before, growing up in the church and all.
Judith: You know there’s nothing wrong with you, right?
Nancy: [scoffs] I cheated on my husband! That’s unforgivable, in any situation. If Geoffrey ever found out, he’d leave me. The boys would have to suffer through a divorce- a broken family. The media would eat us alive. And my mother, God, if she knew-
Judith: Oh, I am so sick of hearing about that old broad!
Nancy: I just need to put it behind me. Move on. I got it out of my system, so I have no reason to speak to Lily ever again. I’ll never think about another woman. I’ll be good. Normal.
Judith: What the hell is normal, anyway? If you’re abnormal, than so am I.
Nancy: [sighs] You’re not married or a mother.
Judith: Have you even allowed yourself a moment to revel in this?
Nancy: Why would I?
Judith: Because you finally gave yourself something you wanted. Put the shame and all those nasty feelings aside for a second and tell me about it.
Nancy: [groans] God, it felt so good. The sex yes, but there was something about her obeying everything I said that thrilled me. If I close my eyes now, I can still feel her teeth in my skin, her gasps when I squeezed her throat.
Judith: There.
Nancy: What? There what?
Judith: The real you. You pack her away so much that when you finally allow her to show, she shines.
Nancy: She frightens me..
Judith: Good! She’s a real bitch, and she’s ready for her debut! I want to see you at your brightest, darling. It’s when you’re the happiest.
Nancy: I don’t know if happiness was in the cards I was dealt.
Judith: I believe it is. And when it comes, bask in it, darling.
-
Jonathan: Move, Malcolm! I have the phone!
Malcolm: NO! Let me talk to mommy!
Nancy: Quit bickering, you two. Jonathan, let your brother speak too, please.
Malcolm: YEAH!
Jonathan: [groans] Fine! Mom, are you almost home? Will you be late again?
Nancy: I’ve just wrapped up my last client and I’ll be on my way.
Malcolm: Then we can look for a Christmas tree?!
Nancy: We sure can, my love. I’ll see you both very, very soon.
Jonathan: Promise?
Nancy: I promise. I love you both so much.
Assistant: Mrs. Landgraab, you have a guest asking for you in the lobby.
Nancy: [scoffs] You’re joking? No, no I can’t. Have them book an appointment. I’m leaving for the evening.
Assistant: I suggested that, but they refused to leave and insisted on seeing you.
Nancy: Oh, fucking hell.. fine. Page my driver to wait for me out front anyway. I’ll make this quick.
Nancy: [breathlessly] Vanessa.
Vanessa: Hello Nancy.

TOWNIES THROUGH TIME - THE LANDGRAABS
I've had this idea in the back of my mind for quite some time to put iconic Sims 4 townies into historical time periods, and since the game is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this week I figured now would be as good a time as any. First up we have the Landgraabs...
I was inspired by another infamously power hungry, money grubbing, land owning dynasty - The House of Borgia. They were a Spanish noble family which rose to prominence during the Italian Renaissance, which is why I've decked out the Landgraabs in looks pulled directly from the late 1400s/early 1500s.
I'll have a new townie lookbook everyday this week, so I hope you enjoy the series as much as I did putting it together.

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 60 (Malcolm Landgraab IS MARRIED!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a great weekend in the city with her family, Heather and Conrad crossed the San Myshuno Bridge to pick up Ash from the Landgraabs' penthouse Uptown.
Toddler Ash rushed to greet his mother when she walked through the door. "Mommy, mommy, come meet Mumma Miko!"
Tumblr media
Heather did a double take, but it wasn't just her son's pronouncement that caught her off guard. The Nancy Landgraab stood before her in cottagecore, looking like someone trying to fit into Henford-on-Bagley despite her well-advertised dislike of small towns. "Nancy, is that...a nose ring?"
"It's just a magnet, but apparently this is the style these days. Malcolm's new wife had me try it out, but I think I look ridiculous."
This might've been the first thing she and Heather had ever agreed on. But Heather kept her mouth shut as Malcolm charged up the stairs from the pool deck below, finally catching up with his son.
Tumblr media
Heather stared at him, and he looked sheepishly toward the second floor. "I got married... Three days ago."
Her jaw dropped. "I dropped off Ash two days ago. You didn't think I should know then my son has a new stepmom?"
"You know now, Heather. I just told you our son has a stepmom! It took you months to tell me about Conrad!"
She rolled her eyes, trying not to let her frustration show in front of Ash, but they were interrupted when Malcolm's new wife walked down the stairs.
Tumblr media
She was thin, beautiful, and her edgy purple hair framed her face perfectly. She offered an earnest smile. "Hi, I'm Miko," she said. "I know I must come as a shock, but I've had the best few days getting to hang out with Ash and I'm so thrilled to finally meet. I've heard so much about you!"
"How long have you and Malcolm even known each other?"
Tumblr media
"A week!" she said cheerily. "When you know, you just know. You know?"
She didn't. Heather had never fallen so quickly for anyone. If she did, she probably wouldn't even trust it. "Where did you meet?"
Tumblr media
"She was performing at a festival across town. I was there undercover so no one would think I was there for Simlandia National, and I was mesmerized," Malcolm said. "We spent every day together after that and by the middle of the week I knew if I didn't marry her, I'd regret it." He gazed lovingly at his new wife.
"Your mother must be thrilled," said Heather with a cynical laugh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I am," said Nancy, turning back to the bachelor reality program she'd been watching. "She's making a name for herself here, but she's already a star in her hometown of Mount Komorebi. It's good for the Landgraabs to associate with popular entertainers. Paparrazzi love it and we love good press."
(She watched this autonomously and I mean...! Nancy 😂)
Heather disliked the Landgraabs far too much to be offended that Nancy hated her career as a vet but welcomed a starving artist into her luxury home. She turned to her ex. "If you can't understand why I'm upset you didn't tell me sooner, I can't help you, Malcolm."
She stormed up the stairs to the landing and watched the world pass by below. Something about the view from Malcolm's penthouse always calmed her. She could hear Malcolm complaining downstairs in his open-plan suite. "She's so uptight! And when does she ever tell me anything? She didn't even tell me about Ash's accident until the next day."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"All of us have been a bit edge since the accident," Conrad reasoned. "But you should have told her the day you went to the courthouse and got married. And not like it really matters, but I've known your son for years and no one has him calling me Papa Conrad."
"She hates me and I don't even deserve half of it! Who needs to waste half their elopement arguing with their ex over text?"
Heather rolled her eyes as cars sped by on the Simmerloop a thousand feet below. "Everything looks so small this high up," said Miko, her reflection appearing behind Heather in the long windows. But Ash followed them, so Heather quickly stuffed her frustration.
Tumblr media
"It makes me feel like I could pick up the whole city and put it in my pocket," she mused.
"I get what you mean. From up here, the chaotic world isn't so chaotic after all."
Heather smiled at her. "It's not that I don't want Ash to have a stepmom. And it's nothing against you personally."
Miko nodded. "It's that, as his mother, you should have met me before we got married and I moved in. I get it, and I'm sorry. I was recording across town when you dropped him off on Friday and Malcolm said it would be fine. But I knew better and I should have said something."
Tumblr media
Heather's shoulders relaxed. "I can't imagine you've had many opportunities to speak your mind this week with the Landgraabs."
Miko smiled. "I'm still finding my voice. Have you had First Breakfast yet, or should I make Second?"
Heather laughed. "I see Geoffrey's gotten to you already."
Miko was a good-hearted geek after Heather's own heart. By the end of the eventful morning, Heather and Miko were closer friends than Miko and Malcolm. As she rode the glass elevator to the ground floor with Ash and Conrad, Heather sighed with relief. "I actually feel better about sending him to the Landgraabs now that Miko's there," she said.
Tumblr media
Heather hoped Miko’s inherent goodness would never waver despite the overbearing influence of the Landgraabs, so she might always have an ally when it came to Nancy’s desires for her son. ->
<- Previous Chapter | Gen 2 Start | Gen 1 Summary | Gen 1 Start
Evil snob Malcolm Landgraab with good, geeky Miko Ojo? Yes I mashed them together after they met while Miko was busking (I sent him out to find a wife because I was getting impatient that he wasn't finding anyone on his own, and Miko was chilling in NPC land). Once they met and I knew they were attracted to each other, I built up their relationship and moved her in/married her immediately. Even if their good/evil traits eventually kill this thing, I liked it for the drama.
But this Malcolm aged up to YA with the Music Lover trait so they actually have decent compatibility, and those romance bars in one of the screenshots above are legit! I'm running a not-so-secret side-challenge trying to flip Malcolm's evil trait to good, and I'm hoping Miko will help this along. It's too easy if Malcolm's just the evil bio-dad; I always wanted to make him and their whole split family dynamic more complex.

The Landgraabs seem like the perfect family; wealthy, well-mannered, brilliant. But Nancy and Geoffrey are each hiding something. Will their secrets tear them apart or will they continue to build a wealthy dynasty?

Part III - Wife - Nancy recalls her life as a wife, mother, and businesswoman (we begin at the year 1998 and then time skip to 2007 and again to 2015). Nancy has chosen to put her past behind her and is working hard to continue elevating her family's business while raising two rambunctious boys with her husband and business partner, but is it all truly enough to keep her past and her desires at bay? Can she continue playing the perfect wife and mother when temptation shows up at her front door?
Trigger Warnings: infidelity, drug use, sex and nudity.
Transcript under the cut
Nancy Narrates: [Geoffrey proposed our junior year of university. I said yes]
Nancy Narrates: [Not a minute after graduation, I was walking down the aisle. I was ready to become a wife]
Nancy Narrates: [Ready for my parents to look at me with pride in their eyes]
Nancy Narrates: [I was going to be great]
Nancy Narrates: [On that day, I made a vow to my best friend]
Nancy Narrates: [A promise to stand by his side, in sickness and in health]
Nancy Narrates: [To be true and faithful to him]
Nancy Narrates: [So help me God]
Nancy Narrates: [I decided to pack away my past and leave it all behind me. This was the life I chose. I chose to be good. Normal. I chose him, and all that came with it]
Geoffrey: Goinggg uuup!
Nancy: [laughs]
Nancy: [whispers] Hey, you’re not asleep, are you?
Geoffrey: [grumbles] M’sorry. Too drunk for more, I think.
Nancy: [chuckles] It’s fine. You can sleep.
Geoffrey: [sighs] Hey. I wanna have a buncha babies.
Nancy: Oh, so you’re really drunk then.
Geoffrey: M’serious. Want 4 boys, 4 girls. All name Geoffrey Jr. and Nancy Jr. At least one’s named is Zachary.
Nancy: Hey, listen here, lover boy. Let’s just enjoy this. Just you and me and us trying not to drown in the work my parents give us.
Geoffrey: And then babies?
Nancy: [hums] Maybe babies. Give me a year to think about it, ok?
Geoffrey: [sighs happily] I love you. My wife.
Nancy: I love you too.
Nancy Narrates: [I was elated. I was a woman who was capable of loving a man. I was a woman who was capable of making love. I’ve never felt more hopeful. My future never felt so bright-]
Nancy Narrates: [And just like that, the high was over]
Geoffrey: Hey, Nance? Are you missing work again today? Your mom has been really... erm, Queenie-ish the past week with you being out. I’m scared she’s going to actually bite me. [chuckles nervously]
Nancy: Damn you, Geoffrey! What happened to a year? It’s barely been 90 days!
Geoffrey: Wha-
Nancy: I should have known, you can barely pull out of the driveway properly!
Geoffrey: Wait, you’re pregnant?
Nancy: [scoffs] You don’t sound very sorry about it!
Geoffrey: You’re pregnant! I’m going to be a dad?!
Geoffrey: [sings] I’m your baby’s daaadddy!
Nancy: [sniffles, laughs] I can’t believe you did this. I could strangle you.
Geoffrey: Hey, we did this. Me and you.
Nancy: God, what are we going to do with a baby? I don’t even think I’ve ever met a baby.
Geoffrey: We got this, Nancy. It’s us, we’re talking about. We’ll be great!
Nancy Narrates: [Who would have thought; a wife and soon a mother. This was the life I chose]
-
Queenie: You should head home, Nancy. I’ve scheduled you a prenatal massage to your residence for this evening. I’ll have my intern take over your projects for the time being.
Nancy: Oh. Thank you, mother. That’s very kind of you.
Queenie: It’s the least I could do. You are carrying my grandson, after all.
Queenie: [murmurs] My lucky girl.
Nancy Narrates: [A wife, a mother, the perfect daughter]
-
Nancy: [howls]
Doctor: We’re going to give one big push, ok mom? You’re doing great! Ok, now push, Mrs. Landgraab!
Geoffrey: You are doing great, Nancy! Wow! You’re amazing! That’s it, just keep breathing. In and out. In and out-
Nancy: Aughhhh! Geoffrey, shut the fuck up!
Geoffrey: Okay!
Doctor: And push!
[infant wails]
Doctor: Congratulations mom and dad! A boy!
Nancy Narrates: [This was the life I chose]

Every week, Johnny Zest invites his family over to eat and spend time together. Despite his mother, Nancy, refusing to visit him, Johnny always sets the table for four in the hope that one day she’ll come and they’ll reconcile. Seeing the empty chair makes Johnny very sad. Even though he made plenty of food, Geoffrey preferred to eat some burnt popcorn leftovers rather than Johnny’s cooking, which doesn’t speak highly of his culinary skills.
