a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”

HI YES okay so i got incredibly inspired to make this on MULTIPLE levels, and after releasing an okay-looking chuuya sketch, i wanted to make something a little nicer. SO! ghibli art-style howl au skk @sensitiveheartless 🥹 i wasnt kidding when i said this au lives rent-free in my brain; this was a really fun exercise on a lot of levels between practicing a little different rendering, trying out the ghibli art style, and fun dynamics :3 hope you're having a good day/evening, and that this treats you well!

best thing about doctor who is that it is unpoisoned by the irony that most long-running media gets cannibalized by. it is invincible because it is so silly and so full of love and it takes each premise with the exact amount of seriousness it deserves. the closest you get ever is that some of bill’s lines are verbatim little teasing nitpicks of the show that the fandom bandied about, but they don’t come off as mocking the premise, they come off as loving the premise and how silly it is. why’s his time machine anagram work in english? it just does. his name is doctor who.

Its crazy how everyone always tryna draw /stylish/ versions of the characters (according to fandom people which makes it. Questionable in actual style) but always sleep on the one character that is described as being stylish and havin cool hair bc shes black and a woman. How come we got the same or more fanarts of Mike Crew when he like shows up in one episode and then gets immediately knocked dead than Anabelle who appears multiple times is a mysterious presence loomin over the story and plays a huge role on like. The whole closure of the entire podcast. Like im sure everyone hates to hear it and im callin myself out w this too cuz i havent done much fanart of her (to be fair i havent done enough fanart in general bc of chronic artblock) but im calling racism, mysoginy and mysoginoir too bc everyone either ignores her or writtes her as a dominant agressive presence to antagonize in their jmart fics

im watching a retrospective about Majora's Masks dungeon progression and realizing a little more every time he says "this game took a lot of very brave steps out to not be ocarina of time" that my disappointment with totk isn't out of place. I've been told "it's breath of the wild 2, why did you expect it to be different?" but like.. it's it's own game. why is it the exact same but with an arguably worse iteration of the story?

who is your favorite oc

out of my most recent ones, meringue's definitely up there. out of everyone in the overdrive cast, she's the one i had the most fun designing from start to finish. personality wise she's also a bit of a far cry from the characters i typically make, but i think that's ultimately a good thing. this girl could kill me and i'd thank her.

i wish i could go into the specifics of why she's my favorite, but it's overdrive spoilers so you guys'll just have to wait :p

out of All of my OCs though? definitely this guy here. i cooked up cicero during the height of the pandemic and he's been occupying my brain like a parasite ever since. technically he's a DnD character i've been keeping on hand in case i ever end up being a player in another campaign someday, but i like tossing that guy into situations on my own. just for fun.

I dislike takes that Danse would be just as conservative in modernized aus when it's clearly shown his staunch views of things come from his time in the Brotherhood and his deep-rooted desire to belong to something with a greater purpose.

Not to mention lines that show much more open-mindedness that get overlooked for his harsher sentiments when you first meet him. Like the oppurtunity to be a part of something is why Danse fell so far into Brotherhood dogma and it doesn't negate the offense things he does but I feel like it's just lazy to be like "hmmm he'd def be racist" just so it aligns to his BoS beliefs.

fionna and cake comic I was enjoying had dark/complicated lighting for the first few chapters and then in the most recent chapter the lighting changed to super neutral normal lighting and. dude.

is it really that tricky to see that he has brown skin? how can you watch every episode and somehow go ah yes. he is white. how does this even happen I do not understand!!! I'm genuinely just perplexed!

he spends 90% of the show standing next to fionna, who isn't even that pale but is still VERY pale in comparison to him!! I just can't wrap my head around it.
