The funniest thing to me about the Toriko manga is, you know how short characters will sometimes say “I’m not short! It’s everyone else who’s too damn tall!”

That is LITERALLY what’s happening with Komatsu. Like, the man is an average Japanese man, with an, okay, a slightly below average height of 5’1” or 155cm. But still, that’s a solid 5 feet of height.

That means NOTHING tho, because he spends the majority of his time in the manga surrounded by absolute BEHEMOTHS. He is surrounded by 6 feet tall beefcakes, and they only get bigger. Like, I genuinely didn’t realize he was a solid 5 feet tall for a good 40 chapters or whatever because he is just so damn small compared to all of his friends. Like, he is just some guy, and he is surrounded by absolute giants all the time. He spends the majority of the manga next to Toriko who is 7 feet tall. He looks so tiny next to Toriko. It is so fucking funny.
