as a Hashira, Muichiro’s mind is often far too preoccupied to think too hard about self care, when he’s not spaced out of course.

however, no one grows their hair out that long without learning to take care of it at some point! Giyuu and Mitsuru have given him the hair care shakedown in the past and as a result his hair is for the post part fine — clean, but not particularly shiny or silky.

I think he has pretty thick hair too, so oftentimes washing it can feel like a bit of a chore…

is he going to cut it though? no, he actually quite likes his hair. it helps to have something to fiddle with when he’s looking in the mirror to remind him that the boy looking back at him is himself.

so when you, a fellow Hashira he’s found himself in a strange familial situation with, offer to wash his hair? he stares for a second in shock, then quite readily agrees.

(he gets excited to spend time together like he does with Tanjiro 🥺)

since joining the corps, he’s been the only one washing his hair — his mother always seemed to know what to do and she enjoyed doing it, so he would always just sit back and relax while she washed his hair… and he can’t help but think back to that time when the memories come back to him in a wave.

he sits in the bath almost limp as you gently rub his scalp and run the shampoo through his long hair, sat on a stool behind him with everything you need on the floor by your feet. it feels more like you’re talking at him than to him, but that’s only because he’s just so relaxed that he can’t think of much in the way of a response other than an occasional “mm…”

if his skull wasn’t in the way, he’d think you and your magic hands had turned his brain to mush.

once he’s out of the bath, you help him dry his hair and joke that you could use him as a mop with how long it was. he doesn’t say anything, but you do see a tiny smile in the mirror.

then, just before bed, you braid his hair to keep it safe while he sleeps and give him a cuddle before you leave to get ready for bed yourself. he hasn’t said much all evening, but you have a feeling he wouldn’t complain about doing this again.

Muichiro basically passes out as soon as his head hits the pillow. the second you’re out the door, bang.

the next day, he notices just how many people compliment his hair and how nice it looks, how shiny it is. when he sees you again, he doesn’t mention it, but he does go to you for hair care advice from then on out — if you offer to wash his hair for him again when he does, he counts that as an absolute win!

So I have been wanting to draw Arlecchino lately and at the same time stumbled upon XP-pen competition thingy of making a modern job outfit for one or few of genshing characters!

After a long consideration, conversation with friends and some sketching I ended up going with a Cigar Bar owner Arlecchino! (And the bar name is "House of The Hearth" of course...)

Why specifically this job?

- Well she is still someone in power, has her own domain, she is someone that isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and handle stuff herself. This being a cigar bar of high status Arlecchino is in contact with many powerful people. Her waiters and helpers are of course her "children" . And the cigar aspect of the smoke and fire reminiscing of her pyro vision.

The outfit design choices?

- Although a modern setting the job requires of classical attire to fit the mood. Small details of the outfit are taken from the original one to keep it to her true character. The simple but comfortable and mobile outfit helps her to stay on her feet all day if needed, leaving her movements unrestrained. Tied up hair in a bun to keep the consistent look of put together and professional

More commissioned arts from @azaracyy to celebrate the release and homecoming of our boi(tm) Oro//ron who is included in the limited banners of the Gensh//in update today 😆💜✨ Both Cyl and I successfully got him, so yippeee!!! My brain is currently trying to make the math.exe on how I want the layout for this to look like as an acrylic stand.

This one came up while Cyl and I were talking about how Oro//ron has the same JP VA as Hibari (CV: Kondo Takashi). Then it became about how he is an Electro character and that Kana's main (Rai//den Shog//un) is also an Electro character. And then Cyl told me about how she can imagine them both fighting to assert their Electro dominance in some Genshin/Streamer AU. Of course, my brain went 🤯🤯🤯😳😳🥴🥴✨ at the idea, so I quickly went to Vgen and sent her the comm request to draw it hahahahaha I sent the request so fast‼️ I forgor ‼️ that oro\ron's full design ‼️ hasn't been released yet back then‼️🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭 this is truly a "no thoughts, head empty, only hibakana" moment...💀💀💀

rambling ahead because i have A LOT to say about this commission, you've been warned! 😅😂 i'm not gonna lie, this has been the most challenging skeb and chibi art i've ever done, mostly because oro\ron's design was not even released yet when ein's request came in, and the fact that oro\ron wears so much black confused me for a while lmao 🗿 oh you know, gen\shin character design and the intricate details. i'm very pleased with the result though, i think the patience really paid off ✨ featuring: - ein's oc kana as rai\den shogun, and - KHR's hibari as oro\ron oro\ron & hibari are matched because they share the same japanese VA (kondo takashi). funny that hibari and kana end up being related to electro characters so knowing ein's oc lore of hibakana they'd totally fight as usual to assert dominance 😭 even in the video game world of tey\vat a small interesting detail i noticed while coloring these two: rai\den shogun and oro\ron's outfit design both feature an "eye" shape. rai\den's should be obvious if you play genshin and uses her skills. oro\ron's "eye" design in his scarf and his overall color scheme reminds me of turkish evil eye for some reason either way, it's cool and this is one of the moments for a yumeship enjoyer, in which i go "this is fate, they are so meant to be!!" obviously, none of them will ever win in tey\vat. after all, gen\shin doesn't support pvp 😭 the context of this artwork is supposed to be when yuikanarumi are about to co-op, a 4th player joined in and surprise, it's hibari 🤣 cue hibari likely being the first to attack kana and the two end up running after another endlessly (i like to think they end up killing mobs too in the process rip). hibari wields two Rust bows as a joke to his canon weapons... his oro\ron uses physical dmg build 🧍‍♂️ (would be hilarious if this build is actually viable when oro\ron's playable) poor kurumi (hu t\ao) and yui (zho\ngli)... then again, they're probably already used to it... maybe they can trail after hibakana all around tey\vat to collect free materials from their fight... 😂

Why Copinglink, Part II

There's an odd beauty in the intersection and divergence of Aether the fictional character, Aether the concept, and Aether as myself.

While the storyline of Gensh//in Impa//ct the game is a surprise at every update, on a conceptual level the world of Te//yvat feels much more familiar and personal. On one hand it's not surprising; it's a vast world with dense lore, and with such a wide net, there are many more opportunities for it to mirror something that's already slotted snugly into my heart and soul. On the other hand I am dying for them to release an organized concept art book with commentary, because some quirks of Te//yvat resonate with me in a way that are far too specific and personal and... weird. I get embarrassed thinking about posting about it because in a post-Gensh//in Impa//ct world, it sounds clout-chasing as heck (this probably sounds more kin-thing than cope, but stick with me for a second).

I end up with this layered onion of the concept of Te//vyat that has a fictional aspect but also a real aspect. I bring this up because being Aether is a similar concept. There is an Aether the fictional hero who is separate from me, but there is also bleedover from that fictional hero into my real self, and this sense of self is separate from the story of the game but also is Aether. This is the link of copinglink, to me. It's a normal and lovely thing to form a connection with a character. I've chosen to embrace this connection beyond solely finding Aether relatable and easy to project on. Being Aether is my authentic expression of self. I am Aether. Aether is me.

Embracing this self brings me a real sense of comfort, and this is where the coping of copinglink comes into play. To be Aether is to be courageous and have inner strength. To be Aether is to have a greater purpose. To be Aether is a balm for gen//der dysp//horia. To be Aether is to have a sister who loves me dearly, even if I don't get to experience that love in person, and let that love strengthen me. To be Aether is to be free to be myself, to have permission to live my life. To be Aether is to give myself a reason to stop isolating and live in the real world.

To be Aether is to shine brighter than I ever have before, and look forward to all the shining days to come.

Question: is Deirdre swoll like fanon Saria or Hoshiguma or she is more like a genshing impact build? What i mean, is that she were to throw her shirt out for a direct fisticuffs beatdown, would she look like a yakuza (male) protagonist or more like she came from a manwha?

Deirdre’s more of a lean, sinewy build. She’s of average height (177 cm/5’8) and doesn’t have much in the way of body mass, so constant conditioning and working out has given her a build closer to Bruce Lee or, keeping it on topic, Majima:

Low body fat centric, efficient strength training with Deirdre’s lithe frame in mind has resulted in a build like this. This was, of course, not Deirdre’s idea, but Seirian (who manages Deirdre’s conditioning). If it was up to Deirdre, she’d bulk up with strength in mind (think powerlifter build, not body builder), but Seirian forbid it since Deirdre’s already very strong physically and her main manner of maiming is to slash, gouge, and rip apart like a wild animal with her sharpening magic rather than actually engage in contests of physical might.

You could say Deirdre wants to do the cool thing (punch huge dudes) while Seirian makes her do the smart thing (play to her advantages), which extends to her fitness. Uncompromising as she may be in many ways, Deirdre ultimately does respect Seirian a lot, so she listens (don’t tell Seirian, though!)
