you bought him a plush keychain of an animal that he offhandedly mentioned that reminds him of you, saying that he can use it so that he'll have something to keep him company on days he's busy or away at work. despite saying that it wasn't necessary to buy him such an item, he still accepted the plush keychain (you didn't dare mention to him how his cheeks were adorned with the prettiest blush).

the plush keychain was never seen or brought up by either of you again after that day — not until you heard him call out to you from the living room, asking if you've seen his keys anywhere as he's preparing to leave for work.

after a few minutes of searching, you found his keys in the pocket of his pants that were in the laundry basket. a smile made its way to your lips. "i found your keys!"

"really? where did —" he came to a stop when he saw you grinning as you held up his keys along with the little trinket you've gifted him, his cheeks flushed. "ah, t-thank you. i must have left it in my pocket yesterday."

"you're really using it." you spoke, still smiling, handing it over to him.

"of course, it's like you said — i get to have a piece of you with me even though we're apart."

Tighnari x Reader

Where you go exploring together and he cuddles you for being tired

You and your boyfriend Tighnari usually go to the Avidya forest as he likes to teach you about plants and flora. However, you've been tired lately, so he thinks that some cuddles will be the best way to get you back on your feet.

The Avidya Forest was especially quiet that afternoon, with the rustling of leaves and the soft chirping of birds filling the air. You walked behind Tighnari, who held a small notebook where he jotted down observations about the medicinal plants you two were collecting. His ears, ever alert, twitched slightly with every sound in the environment.

“Remember that not all plants that look the same have the same properties,” he commented, stopping to point to a bush with violet flowers. His emerald eyes sparkled as he turned to you. “This one, for example, looks useful, but if you don’t prepare it properly, it can be toxic.”

You nodded, leaning in to look closer. Tighnari, with his infinite patience, explained every detail to you, making sure you understood.

It wasn’t the first time he had accompanied you on one of your expeditions, but he always found ways to teach you something new.

When you finished collecting the necessary plants, the two of you returned to the small cabin you shared in the heart of the forest. While he arranged the herbs on the work table, you sat in a corner, enjoying the fresh aroma that filled the place. But it wasn’t long before you noticed Tighnari watching you out of the corner of his eye.

“What’s wrong?” you asked, looking up at him.

Tighnari set the plants aside and walked towards you, a soft smile on his lips.

“Nothing in particular. You’ve just been very quiet today. Everything okay?”

“Yeah, I was just enjoying the moment,” you admitted, feeling a little shy under his gaze.

He crouched down in front of you, resting one knee on the ground, and reached out a hand to take yours. His fingers were warm and safe, with light marks from his constant work in the forest.

“You know that if something’s bothering you, you can tell me, right?” “I’m here for you,” he said in a tone so soft it made your throat tighten.

You nodded, lightly squeezing his hand in gratitude. He smiled and, in a gesture that surprised you, leaned down to brush your forehead with his lips.

“Tighnari…” you murmured, feeling your cheeks heat up.

“Don’t worry, you don’t have a fever,” he joked, though his expression remained tender. “But I think you need a break. You’ve been working a lot lately.”

Without giving you time to protest, he guided you to a small couch. He sat down with you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and pulling you into his chest. His heartbeat was steady, a comforting sound that perfectly matched the peaceful atmosphere of the forest.

“This is unfair,” you murmured, though you made no effort to pull away.

“What’s unfair?” he asked, his voice vibrating slightly against you.

“That you use your ears to your advantage. You can feel how fast my heart is beating. That gives me away."

Tighnari chuckled softly, the sound filling you with warmth.

“Well, I guess my ears have their benefits,” he replied, twitching them slightly in a playful manner. Then, he lowered his voice and added, “But I don’t need my ears to know how much you care about me. I’ll always be here for you, no matter what.”

You snuggled closer to him, letting his warmth and scent envelop you.

At that moment, there was no safer, more comforting place than his arms.
