Any headcanon ideas on how a worldless/sky cotl crossover would look like?
For example, how much Edda and Aven communicate to the sky kids via chirps.
Not too sure, since the fanfic is actually @chaosandtoomuchideas' own!
But maybe the Duo's chirps sounds like bells? But Edda's chirp is slightly lower pitched than Aven's.
Also I have zero clue how to duo get to other places... so they get capes!

Does calliope sometimes have nightmares of kratos killing her and her mom, as well as what happened in Elysium?
She definitely does, especially at the beginning of the story! The nightmare scenes of her death, and what happened after in Elysium, are pretty much the same as in the games. As the story progresses, Calliope has fewer nightmares, though they do evolve to include Atreus instead of Kratos, highlighting Calliope's fear of being abandoned by / losing her brother.
I did expand a little bit on the Elysium nightmares, though! I'll share some of it; I left out the first half of the dream sequence, but the context is that Thanatos is so furious about Persephone's demise that he starts visiting Calliope in Elysium. Also, she and Atreus are currently in Athens XDD
You can find the snippet below! I hope y'all enjoy :DDD
_____
Time passed, or perhaps none went by at all. It was the waiting that hurt most. It set an ache in her chest as she hoped and prayed to no avail. She waited for Father, alone and afraid. At times she heard the souls whispering to each other on the far shore, speaking horrid words about Father, and about herself.
But Thanatos had the most horrid words of all. “You deserve to be alone, little beast that you are,” he said with utter disgust. “Only a monster like your father could sire one. Well, girl? You said he would come for you. Where is he now?”
Calliope said nothing. She couldn’t even bear to look at him. She didn’t want to look into those horrible dark eyes or see the thin lips curled in a sneer.
“Pathetic mouse. Your uncle had more fire in him at your age. You should not be here in Elysium. You should receive the judgement you so rightly deserve for being Kratos’ seed. I would see to it that you get more than what I gave to Deimos.”
He reached for her. Calliope screamed, and remembered nothing more from that meeting.
Thanatos’ visits were few and far between, yet Calliope dreaded his arrival with every passing hour. After he left, she could still feel the echo of his gaze on her, watching from the shadows behind the trees.
Father will come for me. It was the only thought that gave her some hope and comfort. She could only wait. And wait. And wait.
Calliope woke with a gasp. Her hand tightened on something firm – an arm? “Ah – Atreus!”
“Mmph?” he mumbled. “Uff … Five more minutes …”
Calliope crawled over to his side. There wasn’t much distance between them, but it felt like a yawning chasm. “Atreus?” she whispered.
“Ung … Calliope?” Atreus yawned. “Did you … dream again?”
Calliope tried to respond, but a lump formed in her throat, clogging up the words. Tendrils of fear from her dream still held her tight. She could only hold onto his arm as she waited for them to fall away.
Atreus shifted over a little. “Want to lie down?”
Calliope was all too eager to take the offer. It sounded far better than lying on a pallet by herself. And Atreus was very comfortable to lean against.
She settled herself against his side and laid her head on his shoulder. “Is this okay?” she whispered.
“Fine with me,” Atreus said, sounding a little more clear now that he was waking up.
Calliope tucked her face against him, feeling the ridge of his collarbone through the linen tunic. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled, softer than a breath. Any tears she carried were soaked up by his clothes.
His arm curled around her awkwardly as he attempted to pat her shoulder. He settled for her arm instead. “It’s okay. Don’t worry. I have ‘em too.”
That was a surprise. How could someone as brave as Atreus have bad dreams? “What kinds?” Calliope asked, unable to help her curiosity.
Atreus was quiet for a bit. “My family dying. Being left alone.”
His words tugged at something deep in Calliope’s heart. More tears leaked out as she wrapped her arm across his chest. “I don’t want to be alone either.”
“I know. You won’t be.”

Thinking about tarantulas in earthspark, I feel black arachnia should’ve been playing the role. A bot who trusts neither autobot nor decepticon fits well. Especially works since tfa black arachnia’s shown to know her way with science. Seriously, we could’ve had a mom/mentor figure for nightshade. I don’t know if we’ll even see tarantulas play mad scientist. At most, he just wanted to make a holomatter avatar and wipe memories of humans who get too close.
TFA Blackarachnia was not very well written and not as successful a scientist or techie as the OG Blackarachnia. The OG could keep up with Tarantulas, outsmarting him in certain places. TFA Blackarachnia constantly had to be saved. OG Blackarachnia *let* Silverbolt save her from falling into the ravine.
She, like Rattrap, is not done proper justice outside of Beast Wars. Here's a reminder that, though the graphics and rendering are very dated, Beast Wars animation holds up pretty well and it literally has some of the best writing in the entire franchise.
Anyway! You could leave the writing of the episode almost exactly the same and it would still fit Blackarachnia.

Do you ever wonder what if there was some way to make kratos’ previous family, Lyssandrea and calliope more relevant to future god of war games? I heard the idea of a Roman pantheon attacking kratos is possible, with calliope as Athena’s puppet.
I don’t know. I wondered how the Greek underworld’s inhabitants fared once kratos killed hades.
Maybe lyssandrea talks to kratos how she feels insignificant to Faye, because the former feels she didn’t do enough to prevent kratos’ slaughter/terrible behavior. Faye’s done so much, and lyssandrea feels like a nobody in comparison.
Okay but I've thought about a reunion with Kratos's first family before and like.
You know that scene from The Good Place that got turned into a TikTok audio? The "If Donna Shellstrop can change, that means she was always capable of change. I just wasn't worth changing for" scene?
......................yeah.
Edit: This bit.

How much do you miss ashrah’s iconic hat, especially for mk 1?
Which is more interesting: skarlet as a blood construct, or a street urchin Shao khan taught blood magic to?
I miss Ashrah's hat a moderate amount, it was her defining feature buuut it did also get her accusations of being a Raiden clone. I thibk her new look is beautiful and her gameplay has gotten a really interesting rework so I can live without the hat, though I hope she at least has an alt skin with it
I much prefer Skarlet being a blood construct, it's just cooler and weirdly enough makes more sense. Like why would Shao Kahn bother with a random orphan? "She showed fight/spirit" okay what did she do kill someone in front of him?? Idk man I can't see it lol. But like her being a construct literally made to fight for him tracks, he's been known to do that. I don't necessarily hate the retcon to be clear lol but I do just think it's Odd

I'm not sure Magdalene would feel it was necessary. They're visually really similar and both CCs. At what point is it needed to do any more confirmation than that?
Just realized how weird it had to be when Morgan/Megatron and Magdalene/Megaempress first meet. Almost that doppelganger feeling but not quite.
OH MAN YEAH and Megs would have the weird hopeful/anguished flutter in his stomach of “I… could still have family out there?” after losing Terminus and alienating Impactor.
Makes me wonder how Magdalene feels about the potential of being related to this warlord everyone keeps harping on about too 8U

Just thinking of when I was asked if there was a Shadows of Rose story in the RE village AU by @gennethapang
I did more thinking and I would have to say that I could see the role of Rose be shared by both Mariposa AND Meteora.
Like, they both end up in the last remaining conscious/dimension of the megamycete because Belos is trying a last ditch attempt at coming back to life to continue his work. Unfortunately for everyone, BILL is also in there too.
But I could see Meteora sharing some of Rose’s issues in a certain way and trying to come to terms with the events that she would barely recall as an infant. That she was the least human looking of the ‘daughters’ and thus the most looked down upon by ‘Belos.’ That she could have turned out horribly different had she not been so lucky to be surrounded by family both in blood and in name.
Meanwhile Mariposa is there for moral support. But maybe Belos has an eye on her for his own reasons.
But of course, both girls have to deal with the horrors that were experienced in the DLC. (And given who owns the house of Benevento equivalent, there’s some added amusement to the whole thing for me.) Cue lots of screaming, cursing, and hugging each other for dear life.
Also, I imagine Meteora was told about how much of a shit Bill was, so he’s none too happy to see that his favorite ‘niece’ isn’t as friendly to him as she was when she was a baby.

What kind of magic can calliope’s flute do? Is it healing magic?
Does calliope tell sindri about her family and the fact she’s once dead over hundreds of years ago? How does Atreus find calliope and sindri again?
Was there ever a Roman god who got cocky enough to believe they can kidnap calliope from under kratos’ nose?
Does kratos ever wonder if calliope’s better off with sindri, especially since kratos killed and traumatized calliope and sindri’s found it in himself to open his heart again?
I haven't really come up with rules for Calliope's magic; it's more of a "make it up as I go," but my vague idea is that her songs are basically like Atreus' spells. She just needs to play them on the flute in order to "activate" them, so to speak!
So a healing song would perform healing magic, or if she wanted to find Atreus, she could play a song that is solely about him, with the intent to seek him out -- and following the music might even help him find her. Hopefully that makes sense loll Writing hard magic isn’t exactly my strong suit ^^;;
I think Calliope would tell Sindri about what happened to her once she’s grown to trust him enough for it. However, if she felt that it would only make him angrier at Kratos and Atreus, she might not tell him at all.
There might be a Roman god down the line who'd try pulling that stunt, for the time being, I would doubt it ^^;; One, there are likely other gods who are familiar with the legend of the Ghost of Sparta, and who would warn off the cocky Roman god; and two, Calliope would be in a whole other realm (and even if she was in Midgard, it’s far out of the Roman Empire’s territory, so the Roman god would likely be less powerful away from their homeland, y’know?)
I don’t really have an answer to your last question, sorry ^^;; If you have any thoughts about it, feel free to share them! :DDD

Hmmm. I’ve been thinking of how likely would ttb overlord develop spite or other targets outside of megatron. For example, how idw overlord has salt against verity for telling him megatron’s dead.
I thought about it because I find the irony in overlord being killed/defeated by a nobody, such as serah santos, with something as simple as a slingshot.
Aside form that, I amused by the idea of overlord being a southern belle. You know he’ll find a way.
A quick way to understand my take Overlord is "entitled gifted kid". It's "nothing personal" and "everything personal" all at once. To my understanding, IDW Overlord's problem with Verity is that she was the bearer of bad news--the only person who's ever inspired any drive (for better or worse) in him is dead. Before that, he paid her no mind whatsoever. He'd likely pay her no mind afterwards if he'd managed to squish her.
The big thing is that TTB Overlord... Kinda has a narrow world view of people in relation to him. After all, he was raised to be an attack and guard dog for the government. He is extremely confident and for good reason. It's all about how good he is in relation to other people and he's very used to being at the top. He's hyperfocused on Megs because Megatron has challenged that perspective. Most other folks around him he views easy to brush off. Sure, Megatron does have other officers who are technically on equal standing as him, but he still considers himself above them. Sure, Deadlock could potentially cut him up, but in a battle of pure strength? A different story. Yeah, sure, Tarn is a similar rank, but he's such a sycophant while Overlord has his own plans and does not bend so easily to someone else's whims. (He has many justifications.)
It certainly would be poetic! Although, for the story I'm telling, Overlord is one of the Big Bads, so for him to be taken down so simply would feel pretty anticlimactic with where I'm personally taking his story.
Overlord would rock the prettiest corsets. At least with how I currently see Overlord, I don't think lace and petticoats quite fit, but corsets and off-the-shoulder necklines absolutely do.

I had a thought about the implication faye tried to help the dwarf rebels. What if the failed coup was her finally accepting that maybe she should accept fate, at least until she changed her mind upon having Atreus/meeting kratos. Did she have a few Midgard giant friends who survived to help her with the rebellion?
Did Faye poison anyone, even an innocent dwarf, out of fear of being ratted out?
I keep thinking about that backstory and comparing it to the Korean historical drama/tragedy Whale Star, which is about a young girl caught in a crossfire between Korean rebels and Japanese colonialism/rule.
Just imagine all the tragedy as the rebellion falls apart, with durlin believing Faye ditched her comrades in arms. And Faye herself trying to save the people she loves, but they’ve either disappeared from the nine realms altogether or died, mostly died.
I keep having these ideas on how even Faye herself wasn’t really an angel/hero most characters remember her as, that she to hurt people. And I’m not just talking about her fight with Thor.
Also, I want a romance between a dwarf and a giant. Specifically a giant woman.
Okay no but it's funny you say that [fic spoilers I guess if anyone cares] because I'd actually considered the possibility of the failed uprising being Faye's "last straw" but like, in a different flavor? Because for the way I've been writing her (still don't know to what extent this is canon but it's how I've started the series so I'm sticking to it), she doesn't know about a lot of the prophecy until she's pregnant already and is by and large resistant to caring about prophecy specifically because she's seen how obsession with it ruins lives. But even if you go with that, there's major amounts of tragedy there because something like that failing so spectacularly would hurt. Like after so many failures, the giants being unable or unwilling to start their own revolt, she finally gets together enough people that maybe something can be done and...
It can't. Odin and Asgard are too strong. After that, what's the point in doing anything? Why keep struggling, when it just ends in failure? So for the way I was picturing it, it's less about the prophecy and more like the helplessness of fighting against a much stronger opponent and how that can wear you down over time.
100% agreed about her not having been the perfect angel/hero, though, like my girl definitely had some rage issues and I feel like a lot of even her heroic actions could be read as reckless and self-destructive (that's how I've been reading them lol). And I really think that works because besides just making her more two dimensional, it's a great parallel to Kratos? And would explain why she was so willing to take a chance on him (regardless of when you personally think she knew about the prophecy). She's been there. She knows.
(Also I choose to believe that most dwarves who knew Faye were in love with her lmao, IDK if I can picture her reciprocating due to my own headcanons about her headspace at the time but they definitely were. Like I write her and Sindri as platonic but it was really only 95% platonic let's be real with ourselves-)
#long post#asks#gennethapang#also I've never heard of whale star but that sounds neat!!#I feel like I need to get into k dramas one day#my to-watch list is just neverending
