(austin viewers pls forgive me if thats not the name he actually uses bc i do not watch him so idk im using the one they introduced him with and assuming its good)

i know a lot of people interpreted austins whole thing with the wife and kids as him being forced to lie by showfall but honestly the whole time my perspective

was that he was actively lying To The Viewers because he knew he'd have a better chance if he appealed to a wider audience/didnt reveal that he was gay,

like, i know he was introduced as

Austin Show | gay

but they cant see that, and the puzzler immediately calls him out for lying, and throughout the episode repeatedly asks him the names of his children and how many he has, which austin fucks up multiple times, so i assumed that he was intentionally trying to mislead the audience to protect himself, and showfall had the everyone prompt him as much as possible (and maybe got him to mention them more himself) in order to point out that something wasn't right about what he was telling us

now, i also want to point out, (and this is from another theory ive seen tying back to the mind control) that austin doesn't have anything on his head, and one theory i saw is that everyone else, barring sneeg until the hat, had something on their head in that episode,

ranboo with their mask

niki, vinny, and sneeg with hats

charlie and ethan with their glasses

rats with masks,

and jerma/puzzler with the prosthetics although that ones a bit more meta since based on charlies commentary it actually looked a lot more real/seamless in person than on camera

but austin isnt wearing anything, and hes arguably the most freaked out, like sure niki is sobbing but she switches the second shes in the spotlight she switches to being collected and upbeat, the only other person we see as visibly disturbed as austin is sneeg during the hat sequence,

throughout the entire carousel scene austin is looking around, visibly nervous, and like others have pointed out, he kept staring at frank, who since the reveal of the filter thing, everyones been pretty agreed on is probably like, a full on rotting corpse that they were just carting around,

so i think that while showfall had some influence on austin, his actions more than anything, they didnt have full control over his words, and they were definitely letting him see at least some of what was going on,

whether they were allowing him to lie and behave so nervously is anyones guess, it certainly makes the program more interesting, but the way he talks so desperately about his many wives and children reads to me as something a queer person would probably do if placed in some kind of saw esque game show where we had to appeal to the largest majority of viewers to survive

i like the way people have taken it as showfall stripping him of his identity, but to me, i read it as them outing him, which, also in my mind works closer with the theme of what fans/fan culture will do to "celebrities" (see kit connor with heartstopper however many years ago that was), and the fact that showfall outed him without care that his situation was dangerous just drives this further home for me

the truman show parallels made me lose my fucking mind

So I was thinking about the final scene of Gen Loss where GL!Ranboo's head gets boxed, specifically when Ranboo on one of their streams talking about Gen Loss, he mentioned that there were wires in his mouth. That got me thinking after rewatching and seeing it...

Did GL!Ranboo always have those wires in his mouth, just due to them not being seen they weren't built in? If so that's interesting, cause I've always wondered how the mask worked. I figured the wires and the logo on the back of his neck is connected to his brain but if there is another set of wires in his mouth, that must mean there are multiple brain entry points.

I also want to bring up them HAVING to use a constant mask on GL!Ranboo (other than Ranboo wanting to remain a mostly masked creator). Is his mind so powerful that they HAD to keep having constant instructions put directly to his brain compared to the others who basically have a personality programmed into them with just about 10 seconds or less being put in a full mask, I assume before shows, or in GL!Sneeg's case during one.

If so, how many other creators have this mask or has had it? Would GL!Sneeg have gotten one or just gotten killed due to being able to break his mental hallucination easily? Though rewatching the scene where GL!Sneeg tries to escape it's the "slime" hat that breaks his hallucinations, like really breaks it. After The Puzzler puts the "slime" hat on him his eyes gets wide and he panics a bit but manages to stay calm to leave. Not to mention the screen does that weird side glitch affect when someone isn't in control. Why I never noticed this detail before idk, but I don't think anyone mentioned the blood hat unless it was talking about GL!Austin Shows(Austin). After the glitching happens Squiggles seems to have realized something was up too, or Hetch? I think they're the same person in a sense, please correct me if I'm wrong. After that Sneeg books it out of there, probably trying to leave as fast as possible before getting caught by Showfall Media's employees. I wonder what he saw out there due to him calling it "(What is) This sick place(?!)". Could he have seen Security? How much of the Mall could he have seen?

I also wanna take the time to talk about GL!Austin. I saw on a post that he seemed so freaked out about everything, especially when The Puzzler was going around and playing with Frank and the "slime" hat, which we have found out was indeed blood. I personally think that this is half true. Going back and rewatching Ep 2 near the beginning where GL!Sneeg is reprogrammed live, he is frozen like everyone else. He isn't moving or anything, so he is mind controlled like the others, but maybe he's "allowed" to see what really is happening, that Frank really is a skeleton/rotting corpse and that there is blood on GL!Sneeg's hat, hence how he speaks about how sick The Puzzler is. Though that's just a lil food for thought.

I would love to say that Charlie's inferno is a Charlie song in Generation Loss because I very much think that Terrible Things by Axie is a Hetch song in my ship-jumping AU and then I can make a bunch of fun art pieces with each songs' lyrics.

But let's be real, Charlie's Inferno is much more of a gl Austin Show song.

After just under a week, it's finally done! A poster for Generation Loss with all the characters and/or versions! Textless under the cut!

AU where genloss Austin Sneeg and Niki manage to live and switch plans from escaping to killing the Puzzler + Hetch + the Founder. The Puzzler ends up “catching” them first and they dont think the Puzzler is another actor (Whether he is or isnt is vague in the AU) and Niki steals his suit jacket and vest and putters her jacket and hat on him. They manage to avoid security and find Hetch who tries his ‘Hey guys im on your side, I tried to help Ranboo escape :)’ but they quickly realize and Sneeg gets his ass and swaps his and Hetch’s Jackets. The Founder gets involved but by then they managed to disable the employees and security so they end up beating the shit outta him. Austin switches his jacket for the Founders. They then grab the bodies of the others (Charlie, Ethan, etc) and find a place outside the mall to bury them, then they live on the run because the three of them are semi-convinced that people will know they killed them. They a bunch of money to get a motor home/RV

I just need these three to be a trio
